percy jackson sequel series where the current demigod heroes need help on a quest, so chiron writes out an address and labels it AJ. and the heroes get all excited because one of them has a possibly dead loved one by those initials like arthur jones or smth, so when they knock on the apartment door and a guy that's not arthur jones opens it, they're all disappointed.
so they say sorry, that theyre probably at the wrong door, but this 20-something year old guy with messy dark hair and bright green eyes is real nice about it, and tells them they're probably looking for him, and what's the address again?
and they show him chirons slip of paper and he just says
"ohhhhh, yeah, AJ huh? you guys aren't looking for me, although, you might have better luck talking to my wife."

the fact that i'm no longer the same age as the protagonists of novels and films i once connected to is so heartbreaking. there was a time when I looked forward to turning their age. i did. and i also outgrew them. i continue to age, but they don't; never will. the immortality of fiction is beautiful, but cruel.
