Hiya~ Can I request quote 9) "Are you jealous?" for Lucifer in Obey Me! pretty please😊
This was so much fun to write! Luci know that he gets jealous but never wants to admit (his jealousy is worse than Mammon but you didn’t hear it from me 🤭) and sorry this got kinda long! Reader is gender neutral!
TW: suggestive/spicy themes, but nothing extremely graphic is mentioned
Prompt: “Are you jealous?” with Lucifer!
Tumblr media
Lucifer is pissed.
He’s tapping his foot, and constantly checking his phone, waiting in his study for you to either walk in or call him. It’s late, and you’re still not home yet. He asked his brothers where exactly you are, and when Asmo told him that you’re out with the same “friend” you seem to blow all of them off for some time now, it just makes his mood turn even more sour, the scowl on his face deepening.
Now, Lucifer is not opposed to you making friends, as long as they aren’t a threat to you, his family, Lord Diavolo and the other exchange students. He understands that it’s very easy for you to connect with others, intentional or not, and he encourages it to a certain extent. However, this same “friend” that you’ve been increasingly been hanging out with for the past couple of weeks is starting to rub him the wrong way. Of course he’s met this “friend”, a classmate from your Seductive Speechcraft class (which just made him feel more unease with you being with them), and they seemed harmless enough (for a demon at least). Annoying, but harmless, at first.
Then began the constant need for your attention.
It started with the messages and calls under the guise of studying, the “innocent” demon begging you for help so that they can pass the class, and you being the naive nice human that you are of course obliged their request. Then it escalated from once a week, to three times a week, to almost staying after school every day just to “help”. He didn’t like that, as it’s him or his brothers that always walk you home every time, and this demon (who he found is Yuki, a demon who feeds off of sexual energy nonetheless), is messing with the routine, but he kept his cool and forced his brothers to do the same. He- They weren’t happy about this, but at the end of the day, you’re still coming home to him- them, and nothing is changing that. Not to mention how he made sure that someone had their eyes on you, whether it’s Mammon, Beel, or even himself (which he preferred).
Until Yuki decided that you need to hang out more, without him or his brothers.
That’s when he made it known of his dislike towards them, and dislike is putting it lightly.
You started to come home right at dinner, right before Beel devoured your plate. Mammon obviously voiced his displeasure aloud, with the others silently agreeing or making passing comments, but Lucifer would just shut the conversation down before anyone gets too upset, mainly for himself. He doesn’t want to lose control over something trivial like this, he can’t, he won’t- he’s well above some minuscule pest like them, and it would be a waste of time and energy to be worried about someone who is clearly below him!
He’s already irritated with Yuki integrating themselves into your everyday life, but he’s also trying to fight the increasing sinking feeling in his stomach the more you both bond.
The more you two become more than acquainted with one another, the more Lucifer tries to fight and hide this feeling. He buries himself in more paperwork, practically locks himself in his study, avoids anyone’s questions or concerns, and has become overall snappier than usual. He’s even snapped on Lord Diavolo, Lord Diavolo of all people!
(Granted Diavolo just thought it was overall stress, so he just simply laughed it off, but it didn’t go unnoticed by everyone, including you).
Now Lucifer is not stupid, he’s a very intelligent and powerful demon, and he doesn’t have to say it to be known. He made sure to do some research himself on Yuki, and didn’t put anything past them. You’re still surrounded by demons who wouldn’t hesitate to swallow you whole if allowed, and some are still desperate enough to try anything, so he’s very cautious with others being around you.
Which leads to now, you being out again with that demon at The Fall. Ever since, Lucifer retired to his study, constantly checking his phone for any updates. He refused to look distressed in front of everyone, and he knows that you’re smart and not so gullible, you’ll be okay, you had to be.
It’s well going on 1 in the morning, and you still haven’t answered any of his calls and texts? You swore that you would always answer him, so something had to happen. What exactly were you doing? What exactly were you two doing? We’re you okay? Are you safe? Has that Yuki tried anything with you?
Were you two doing anything now?
All of these questions swirling around in his head, his worry only adding on to his frustrations and building tension going through his body.
He already marched down to the door, coat forgotten and tie undone, flinging it open and scowl so deep that his fangs were bared. That Yuki better hope that you come home in one piece and spotless, or else he will make sure that they regret being alive-
He couldn’t wipe the surprised look on his face when he made eye contact with you, who was matching his own expression, hand frozen in the air mid knock.
“Lucifer? What are you still doing up? Are you about to go somewhere?” His expression quickly morphed to one of high distaste, the irritation displaying clearly on his face and his grip tightening on the door.
“I was still awake waiting for you. Have you forgotten how to use a phone, or are you too good for one now that you’re with your ‘friend’. And I remember specifically telling you to let me know when you leave, did I not?”
“Oh. Well...my phone kinda died, but I was already on the way home and-”
“By yourself?! Do you know how irresponsible that is? Do you forget that you’re a mere human?”
His irritation is rising to pure anger at this revelation. So that demon didn’t even have the decency to walk you home? To make sure that you arrive safe? And yet you still have the nerve to spend time with them and practically ignore him?!-
“Well- um, Lucifer? Lucifer!”
He snapped out of his murderous thoughts, and stepped aside to let you in.
“Come inside now, it’s late, and we have much to discuss.”
Your face scrunched up, showing confusion in how he’s acting. You know that’s he mad about your phone being dead, but he’s mad enough to leave the door barely hanging on its hinges? But you knew that arguing or pointing it out would just make things escalate, so you just stepped past and began to make your way up the stairs.
You can feel his eyes bore into the back of your head, but you just didn’t understand why. It’s about more than just your phone, it seemed like he’s been on edge for awhile now. You want to approach him, to ask him what’s wrong, to have him open up, but of course Lucifer being Lucifer, it was to no avail.
You racked your brain as he lead you to his room and began the “conversation” about how irresponsible you were being (really it’s just him getting whatever he needed off his chest and not you giving any input). Was it because of you going out so late? No, you didn’t drink, you and Yuki stayed together the whole night, and you let him know hours before. Was it Yuki? Now that you’re think about it, he has been frowning more it seemed like every time you brought up their name-
The pieces are starting to fit together now.
Oh my Diavolo.
You couldn’t stop the words escaping from your mouth before you could realize it.
“Lucifer, are you jealous?”
He choked in the middle of his sentence, and the room went quiet. You’re pretty sure that you can’t even hear him breathing, and his face just went entirely blank, no expression whatsoever.
Oh no, you broke him-
A gust of wind erupted, so strong that you had to shield your eyes for a second, and when you removed your arm, you were met with massive black wings and a very enraged demon.
“Excuse me?”
You stepped back until you stumbled onto the bed, as he stalks closer and closer to you.
“Care to repeat yourself?”
You knew better than to respond, and you felt frozen on the bed. You also know that Lucifer won’t attack or try to kill you, but it didn’t take away from the fact that he has moments where he’s very intimidating, one of those moments being now.
He’s looking down at you like a predator would to its captured prey, his ruby eyes glowing deviously in the dim room. He didn’t stop moving until he was on top of you, caging you in.
“Me? Jealous?” He scoffed. “I am the Avatar of Pride, the most powerful being in this house, yet you assume that I’m jealous of a demon that’s beneath me? You insult me, MC.”
He took hold of your chin, “Do you not remember what I said when we made the pact? You are mine and mine alone. Not anyone else’s, but mine.”
You felt like your nerves were getting the best of you, but you couldn’t force yourself to tear away as he leaned closer. He sealed his lips against yours in a heated kiss, one that you gladly accepted, not before uttering the words that made your heart race even faster.
“Maybe I should remind you of who you belong to, hm?”
—-
“Had a fun night, MC?”
“Yeah, it was”, you coughed in your hand. “Very nice, very fun. We had a great time.”
“Hmmmmm...you and Yuki or you and Lucifer?”
“Asmo!”
He giggled, “I’m just saying dear. I don’t sense the pent-up sexual frustration from Lucifer anymore, and he seems back to normal and even relaxed. Though I must say MC, I wish that you had spent the night in my bed instead.”
“Of course you do Asmo.”
“Besides, I would have covered your hickeys much better-”
“ASMO-”
“MC, are you ready?”
Speak of the devil and he shall appear has never been more true than now, as Lucifer appeared behind you both, placing his hand on your shoulder.
“Huh? Oh, yes, sorry.”
“Eh? Where are you two going?”
“Out.”
“And without me?!”
“Yes. Now, leave us be”. Lucifer moved his hand from your shoulder to your own hand, leading you both out the door. You two had plans for the day after the...eye-opening talk from last night, and he didn’t want to waste anymore time than he already had.
Bonus:
Asmo waited until he heard the door click, and then quickly whipped out his D.D.D. to text Yuki. He knew that the plan was going to be a success! A tense Lucifer made things more difficult for everyone, and he has too much pride to open his mouth so he decided to step in and team up with Yuki, who already knew about the whole ordeal.
Lucifer was already on the edge of snapping and letting his primal instincts take over anyway, so Asmo just gave him a little push in the right direction.
Thank Diavolo the plan worked, or else it would be hell for them both. He did owe Yuki some exposure on his socials in exchange for this and backing off of you now, but it was well worth the trouble.

Third Admission of KQ Academy Class '20-'21
see second admission here
Tumblr media
dear diary,
I don't like seeing him with someone else. I really don't
sincerely,
a concerned citizen named y/n
Pairing: Jeong Yunho x fem!reader
Genre: angst, fluff
Word Count: 7.4k (longest one in the series yet)
Warnings: language such as cussing and sexual jokes (they already reached the age of consent), slight fighting, mentions of food, brief description of making out (let me know if i miss some more warnings please)
Note: it's a bit sloppy but here it is
With people talking, singing, dancing and just bashful shouting, the whole auditorium is filled with noises. Today is yet another practice for the school play that everyone has been anticipating, not because of the said plot or storyline, but because of the main lead.
And with that mentioned, the main lead is late.. again.
Y/n works along with the academy’s theatre production. Having the burning passion and desire for writing, she never hesitated to apply as the production’s scriptwriter when she was in her first year then she was promoted to higher positions until she became the director soon after showing a great participation in partaking their school plays.
She swears her whole life that she never had a single problem when it comes to handling the job as a director, not until a certain Jeong Yunho became the main lead of their current play.. and said man is now bursting through the auditorium’s doors with a smug look on his face, making her slightly pissed, as he made his way towards her.
“Mr. Jeong, you’re late again.” She calmly noted as she goes through the script once again so she can backtrack on where they stopped rehearsing yesterday, “I was starting to lose hope that you’ll never come and that we’ll tear the role of the main lead to you.”
Said man pouted at her and said, “You saying that is like stating that you’re starting to lose faith in humanity now. Don’t you think that tearing the main role to me is a little bit rude?”
She snorted and looked up at the man’s sparkling dark brown orbs, “Think about it this way: you asked your girlfriend out on a date and you made her wait, except in our situation, you made the whole crew wait. Don’t you think that’s even more rude?” She planted the script she was holding in his chest and slightly pushed him but she whispered, only for him to hear, “I should be saving this for later when we’re alone but I swear to God Yunho, can you arrive a little bit earlier than the said time and stop your after school’s useless activities? I gave you this role because I have trust that you can pull this off well.”
Yunho visibly deflates as he nodded with understanding and whispered his response back, “I’m sorry baby, something just came up today.”
As usual, she thought as she nodded her head in understanding, “We’ll talk about this later, okay? Just do what you’re supposed to do now.”
Yunho nodded and made his way towards the stage to practice the scene they left yesterday, his eyes not leaving y/n for a moment, never missing the small smile she shot in his direction making him motivated. They all waited for everyone to get settled and waited for their director’s cue.
Y/n scanned her surroundings first, noting that everyone is looking at her as she looks around to make sure everything’s in place before clapping, “Okay! Everyone, let’s get started!”
Tumblr media
When the auditorium was filled by no one but y/n and Yunho, they both started cleaning up the leftover scattered props together and fixed their things. They both did it so quietly, but the silence is not the awkward type. Once they were done, they started to make their way out, not forgetting to turn off the lights first.
Y/n was the first one to go out, gesturing to Yunho to meet at their usual place, the other just nodding in understanding.
She first made her way to her locker and put all her things there, noting that Yunho walked past her in a haste as she grabbed her subject related stuff that has activities, projects and assignments due within the week. She silently went to the student council’s lounge room and knocked, only to be welcomed by San who’s smiling brightly.
“Hi, y/n! Long day?” The dimpled man asked as he still didn’t let y/n enter the room. The female nodded in answer and said, “A bit stressful since I have to fix things here and there but nonetheless it’s still fun!” She giggled to herself and tried to push the door to let herself in instead but the door and San himself didn’t budge.
Y/n frowned, “Let me in, San. I need to see Yunho.”
San shook his head and said, “You wait.”
She lets out a sigh, “I’ve waited for Yunho earlier too, now you’re going to make me wait to see him?”
Instead of replying to her, San looked back and gestured silently. She tried to peek in but San stood firm, making him even taller than y/n and blocking the space where she can see the inside of the room.
“You wait.” San said and smiled, “For now, let’s talk.”
Y/n whined, “Sannie,” she said, dragging the last syllable of the man’s name, “Let me in, please?”
She gave her very best puppy eyes to which the others have said is one of her similarities to her boyfriend but it actually did not work on the man guarding the door.
Giving up, she slumped down the floor with the rest of her things and sighed once again, “I just want to sit down on the couch.” She murmured sulkily which didn’t become unheard from San, causing him to giggle.
She waited there, seated on the floor, for at least 5 minutes when she heard the door creak open even more. She glanced up, only to see her handsome boyfriend standing there now, replacing San.
“Come in, bub, you must be tired.” He said with an angelic smile and only if his black messy hair doesn’t make him look hot, y/n must’ve think he’s the most innocent boy ever.
She stood up from the floor and took the hand Yunho had offered as the other grabbed her belongings as well.
She thought that the five minutes wait had mentally prepared her from the image of Seonghwa and his girlfriend making out and doing God knows what goes on under that table, but no, it didn’t prepare her for the sight in front of her.
A congratulatory banner was placed delicately on the wall, decorated with balloons and a few confetti. In the middle of it is an envelope but y/n and her poor eyesight can’t catch what’s written on it. Aside from that, a bunch of snacks are placed there and lastly, a bouquet of daisies sat prettily on the side.
She glanced at her friends, seeing them looking at her with eyes full of pride then she glanced at her boyfriend who holds the same look.
“What’s all this?” She curiously asked as she untangled her hand in her boyfriend’s and made her way to the table.
No one dared to answer her question but they looked at her every action. Sitting atop of the table are two envelopes– one with Yunho’s name, the other with hers. Alongside with it is their desired university’s logo plastered on it.
Oh shit, the results, she thought, I clearly forgot it’s gonna be released today.
She grabbed the two envelopes and made her way to her boyfriend and gave him the other envelope, “Let’s open it together?”
Yunho nodded but Wooyoung interjected, “Nope guys, switch your envelopes!”
“But–”
Wooyoung shrieked, “Just switch it!”
Afraid that their friend will throw a temper tantrum, they immediately switched.
“Okay now open!” Yeosang said, his voice filled with excitement, different to what the couple is feeling.
Mingi then giggled, “It’s like we’re having a gender reveal of their baby.”
Yunho snorted at the remark, “Oh how I wish.”
The others laughed with his response while y/n huffed and smacked his arm, “Just because you took my virginity, that doesn’t mean we’re gonna have a baby soon. We have things to do and achieve, asshole.”
“And now she’s like a pregnant woman experiencing mood swings.” San remarked earning a glare from y/n, making him do the zipping motion in his lips.
“Are you gonna open that or do I have to tear it myself?” Jongho asked as he pointed at the envelopes, only to receive a smack at the back of his head from his own girlfriend, “Patience!” she said.
“I’m pretty good with patience since I waited for you long enough already!” Jongho rebutted, only receiving a roll in the eyes from his girlfriend.
“Are you guys done?” Y/n asked as she made a little tear on the envelope, “I’m gonna open it now.”
“Oh my God, same.” Yunho said as he practically tore the envelope, almost damaging the paper inside too.
“Hey, careful!”
“Sorry!” He said as he tried to grab the paper.
Y/n on the other hand opened Yunho’s envelope and there she saw..
Jeong Yunho
Civil Engineering
Qualified
She squealed and smacked her boyfriend’s arm and jumped at him, thanking the stars that her boyfriend has a quick reflex to catch her.
“Congratulations, love! You passed!” She said as she peppered him with kisses on the face as the other laugh wholeheartedly, “Congratulations to you too, baby. I guess we’re going to be stuck together until we grow old!”
She hugged him tighter and said, “Isn’t that what we always wanted ever since we were kids?”
Yunho chuckled and agreed as she put her down.
Y/n, however, gripped him tighter, “Now tell me though, why were you late?”
“I prepared this whole thing, really. The results just came in the mail today and I planned this whole thing quickly with the help of Seonghwa hyung. I wasn’t even able to finish it because I suddenly remembered we have practice in the middle of decorating.”
She smiled at him fondly, “Okay, you’re excused. Just don’t be late again like you did today and the past practices.” The said male nodded in response and pressed a kiss on her forehead as she giggled and pressed a kiss on his cheek, “I love you.”
Yunho smiled at her with fondness, “I love you too.”
And that’s when y/n knew that no matter what comes in their way, they’ll always end up with each other.
Tumblr media
“And with you all finally leaving this place after being stuck here for years or just a year, the academy has decided to give you a grandeur venue! Much more elegant than the previous batches!”
A crowd of student cheers from their tables at the announcement and the visualization of a fairytale-like prom they’re going to experience, but even so, y/n doesn’t give a fuck about it.
She’s not the type to kill the joy, but she never enjoyed proms as well, not because it’s boring or what, but it’s because of the fact that she has to see her own boyfriend bring other girls that are not her as his date.
Don’t get her wrong, y/n is not one to show her jealousy. However, she hates the fact that Yunho only brings this one specific girl to prom that she grew to hate because she became the most egotistical person right after Yunho asked her to be his date. She hates how smug she looks at every single girl, including y/n, and brag to people that she’s the Jeong Yunho’s date and that she sees the future with the both of them being together.
She scoffed and poked a slice of her steak, immediately bringing it to her mouth. This is her favorite food, but she lost her appetite hence the reason why she’s slowing down with her eating.
Seonghwa’s girlfriend who was sitting beside her looked at her with eyes full of concern but she never spoke up about it, not until a squealing girl in the form of Jongho’s girlfriend came barreling towards their place.
“Hi, girls!” She chirped happily, earning the attention of the nearby tables and one of those is where their boyfriends are seated, “Any plans for prom?”
Seonghwa’s girlfriend visibly lights up, “Going to accompany Hwa to fit some suits tomorrow since it's the weekend. We’re also planning that I can stay over at their place so we won’t make a mess at the house.” She took a bite of her fries and giggled, “You know how Hongjoong hates sharing places too.”
With the mention of his name, Hongjoong retorted from the other table, “I just hate how you literally take up every single available space at our house! That’s not sharing.”
Both tables shared a bunch of laughter as they’re provided with the entertainment of the twins bantering when Jongho’s girlfriend noticed that y/n was barely giving a reaction compared to usual. She subtly touched her forearm and whispered, “Hey, you seem off. Do you want to talk?”
Y/n just nodded and stood up silently, bringing her plate along with her as Jongho’s girlfriend told Hongjoong’s twin that they have to go to their secret spot, as if it was a silent agreement, which caused the banterning occurring to die down. The other female nodded and fixed her things.
Y/n made her way past the boys’ table without sparing them a single glance, ignoring the concerned look at their faces especially the ones from Yunho, and made her way to the patio of their school where a secret garden is connected.
She sat at their usual spot as she waited for her friends who then came barreling in after five minutes.
Seonghwa’s girlfriend sat on her left side while the other on her right. They both have these look of concern until Jongho’s girlfriend decided to break it, “What’s wrong, y/n?”
“I don’t feel like going to prom.” She said honestly and crushed the soil underneath using the heels of her shoes.
“But why? It’s our final prom. Don’t you want to spend it with Yu-” Jongho’s girlfriend was cut off when the other female beside her beat into it, “You’re thinking about Sooah and Yunho, am I right?”
Y/n nodded and let out a defeated sigh, “I can’t do this shit anymore.”
“Wait, y/n–”
“I’m so tired of hiding our relationship. Part of me regrets that I asked it as a favor because I don’t want people to see us and then tease us or something like that.” A sad smile made its way to her face as she said, “I guess I have to live with it no matter how much I want to tell the world that I love him.”
The other two girls didn’t say anything more but they hugged her so tight that the shared warmth spread through her heart. Out of all the promenades that they attended ever since she and Yunho started dating two years ago, this is the first time she voiced out her feelings and how she feels agitated that the fact Yunho is bringing someone else instead of her.
They stayed like that for at least 15 minutes until they decided to go back to the school canteen where a commotion is happening. However, they never failed to notice the seven other boys, Yunho noticeably missing, sitting in the corner noticing the look of uncertainty they’re sparing in the commotion as they approach them.
Seonghwa’s girlfriend beats it to them, “What’s happening and where’s Yunho?”
Y/n noticed the glance Seonghwa had given her and she felt her stomach drop. Her eyes suddenly became teary as she abruptly stood up, her friends shouting her name as she ran to the opposite side of where the commotion was.
With that, Seonghwa lets out a sigh, “Yunho just asked Sooah to prom.”
Tumblr media
It was another day of school.
Yunho wasn’t able to talk to y/n as she’s so dedicated to ignoring him. He even cancelled his plans with Sooah, the girl whining because he promised her but out of all things, Yunho knew that he just broke the most important promise he made into existence.
He was currently seated at their usual spot at the canteen, glaring at everything wherever his eyes landed, may it be a person or a thing, he doesn’t give a shit. He’s squeezing his mind on where y/n could be since the table next to them that is usually filled with squealing girls is currently empty.
The seven of them are just quietly eating, Seonghwa texting whoever the fuck it may be in his phone as he eat his already sliced steak. Yunho, however, aggressively adds his grated cheese above his carbonara pasta and harshly mixes it as well. The others were just doing their homeworks that are probably due today as they quietly eat their meals. Wooyoung, however, is out of sight.
Yunho continued eating his meal in a manner like he’s a child throwing a tantrum and Seonghwa had enough of it. Carefully placing his phone on the table, Seonghwa spoke, “What the fuck is wrong with you, Jeong?”
The man in question glared at his friend but then let out a sigh. He was about to speak when a constipated-looking Wooyoung made his appearance, sitting beside Yeosang who gave him a weirded out look. Concerned with his state, Yunho asked, “Why do you look like that?”
Wooyoung cleared his throat and placed his intertwined hands neatly on the remaining empty space above the table. He looked around as if looking for some possible snitch until Jongho had enough of it, “Can’t you just fucking speak and stop making us wait?”
Wooyoung flinched at the harshness, then looked at Yunho for a while and said, “The girls are having lunch at the pond.”
“Yeah, we know.” Seonghwa said casually as he stuffed himself full with his second round of steak.
Yunho raised a brow, “So that’s where they are.”
He was about to stand up but Seonghwa stopped him and asked Wooyoung, “I’m pretty sure that’s not just it, what happened?”
He nervously glanced at Yunho then gulped before he spoke, “U-Uhm, Jihyun asked y/n to be his prom date.”
Everyone at the table suddenly became agitated as they squirmed and adjusted themselves in their seats. Yunho, however, is frighteningly calm, “Can you please repeat what you just said?”
The color drained from Wooyoung as he saw his friend like this, making him unable to repeat what he said.
Impatient, Yunho immediately stood and walked away from their table without saying anything as he made his way to the place Wooyoung said earlier. He didn’t spare his friends a glance, depending on them if they’ll follow him but Yunho knows they’ll most likely will.
True to what Wooyoung had said, a crowd has already gathered to where he can see Jongho’s girlfriend was looking around in an uncomfortable manner. Their eyes met and her eyes widened in panic and asked for help through the look she’s giving him as well. He made his way towards the enlarging circle of crowd, some are cooing, some are squealing silently, some are encouraging the boy who’s currently in front of his girlfriend.
Some noticed his presence and made his way for him. He made himself not so noticeable which worked out quite well despite his height and then he watched.
-
Y/n and her friends are eating their lunch peacefully in one of the picnic tables near the pond, talking within themselves about her thoughts and feelings regarding what her boyfriend’s been up to lately.
Seonghwa’s girlfriend lets out a sigh, “Why won’t you just talk to Yunho and tell him all of this? You know he’s just respecting your wishes of not outing your relationship to everyone, right?”
“That’s not my point,” Y/n said, “It’s just that he spends less time with me. The only time we can be together is during the weekends when I come over to his place.”
“Exactly, y/n,” Jongho’s girlfriend said as she munched on her tempura, “You know that he has to keep up his image of always flirting with Sooah. You’re not bothered with it before.”
The girl in the hot seat lets out a sigh. She was about to speak when someone cleared her throat, making her look back only to see the sight of Jihyun, the guy that everyone talks about.
Jihyun is the total opposite of Yunho. If Yunho is the bad boy who causes nothing but misconduct, Jihyun is the model student. Both of them are in the basketball team but they don’t go in each other’s ways to show respect towards each other as schoolmates and team mates.
Y/n considers him as her acquaintance when they get paired together in a debate competition.
“Hi Jihyun, do you need something?”
The guy in question scratched his head and asked, “Are you going to prom?”
The girl was a bit taken aback but still answered, “I might.”
“Oh,” he exclaimed. Suddenly, his eyes got excited, “If I asked you to be my prom date, will you come?”
Slightly taken shocked y/n asked, “Wait, what?”
Jihyun lets out a deep sigh and said, “Y/n I’ve liked you ever since we got paired for that debate competition,” He sat beside her and held her hand, making y/n panic as she noticed how the crowd’s growing as well, “Shin y/n, you’re smart, beautiful, and it's not hard to adore you. I’ve been wanting to ask you out since then but now that we’re already in our last year of high school, I figured that this could be our steppingstone to level up our relationship. So I’m asking you a question, will you be my prom date?”
Y/n felt conflicted.
She doesn’t want to reject Jihyun but she also doesn’t want to have anyone as her prom date that is not Yunho. She knows how jealous he could be.
She let out a sigh and said, “I’m sorry, Jihyun, I can’t.”
The reactions from everyone around them was a bunch of gasps and an exclaim of disbelief.
“She rejected Jeon Jihyun? What the fuck? Is she nuts?”
“They’re perfect for each other, what the fuck.”
“She thinks she’s so pretty that she had the guts to reject him.”
The guy in front of her, however, shook his head in disbelief, “You rejected me? Why? It’s not like you’re dating someone! I’m handsome, smart, kind and–”
“And nothing compared to me.”
Everyone, including y/n, looked at where the voice came from.
There stood Yunho who had his hands in his pocket, a smug smirk painted on his face, “It’s not like you’re dating someone.” Yunho quotes and laughs, “Come on, Jihyun. I exist.”
“I know you exist but you’re not the type to date someone like her.” Jihyun defends as he grabs y/n’s hand and tightens his hold on her. The girl squirms, trying to go to her friends but Jihyun pulls her harshly, causing her to stumble on the ground.
“Get up,” Jihyun said and pulled her up harshly, “We’re going somewhere else.” Was all he said and pulled her away immediately but Yunho was not having it.
Yunho immediately grabbed his girlfriend’s hand in his, signaling her to go to her friends then faced Jihyun with a smirk before landing a solid punch on his face.
“You, Jeon Jihyun, shouldn’t grab girls like that.” Yunho said and landed another punch, “You should learn how to treat people with respect.”
“You should also learn how to respect their decisions. If she says no then it’s a no. Being an asshole doesn’t make you attractive.” He got up and was satisfied with what happened to Jihyun then looked at y/n before fixing himself.
Standing tall, he announced, “From now on, whoever dared to go and attempt to ask y/n out to prom or just flirt with her, you have to go through me, her boyfriend.”
“Her what?”
“They’re dating?”
“I thought he and Sooah are a thing?”
That comment caugh Yunho’s attention and said, “Sooah and I was never a thing. I only just go with the flow with what she wants because I don’t want to see a grown up girl throwing a three-year old-like temper tantrum.”
More comments were heard but Yunho ignored it as he went to his girlfriend. He offered her his hand and said, “Let’s talk.”
Y/n just stared at her boyfriend but Yunho has his pleading puppy eyes.
“Yunho–”
“Please, y/n.”
She let out a sigh, knowing that she couldn’t deny him any longer and held his hand. Yunho beamed and brought her somewhere they could be alone together.
Tumblr media
Yunho brought her to the lounge room where they usually stay and she noticed that a few of the decorations from the congratulatory surprise for her from two weeks before are still there, even a few of the daisies from the bouquet are still on the vase that they have above the coffee table. She sat on one of the couches and she grabbed a wilting daisy and studied the flower in between her fingertips.
Her boyfriend just watched her from the door, admiring her silently until he remembered to lock the door behind him and went towards her right after.
Y/n scooted a bit to give space to Yunho and let him wrap his arms around her waist without saying anything. They stayed silent for a while. No one dared to move, they just let their hearts beat as one, their breathing stable until Yunho spoke, “Baby, I’m sorry.”
The girl only scooted closer to him and slightly smiled, “It’s..” She paused for a while as she collected her thoughts, noticing that the man beside her froze up a bit. She giggles, “It’s so liberating!”
Yunho made a confused noise turning to a groan as the girls accidentally elbowed his side as she tried to stand up, earning a quick sorry from her. She turned around at him and sat at his lap, Yunho’s reflexes kicking in as he held her on her hips with confusion in his eyes.
She cupped his face, “Yunho..” Her eyes got teary and Yunho never failed to notice it. Sitting up properly, he held her in a tight hug, “Y/n, what’s wrong?”
She sniffled a bit, “N-Nothing, I just feel happy!” She said in an enthusiastic voice but slightly cracking, “I-I’m sorry, Yun.”
“No, no, baby. Hey, if someone has to be sorry, it’s me.” Yunho replied solemnly as he caressed her back calmly.
“No, it should be me. I wanted us to hide our relationship out of fear that people will judge us because you know.. I hold the reputation of a model student while you have this..” She vaguely gestures around making her boyfriend laugh, “A bad boy, baby. You can say it.”
“Yeah, that!” She said and pouted as she grabbed one of Yunho’s single hand that had been bruised, “You’re hurt.. and gonna get detention.”
“It’s nothing baby, I do this to assholes who infuriates me.” Yunho smirked and then placed a kiss on the tip of her nose, “I’m fine.”
She huffs, stood up and went to where their first aid kits are. They usually keep those in here because the boys usually get into fights, mostly Hongjoong or Mingi being backed up by the others.
She went back to the couch and started to clean Yunho’s knuckles with an iodopovidone then wrapped it up with a bandage right after then placed a kiss on it. Y/n smiled at Yunho, “Done.”
The other just smiled and pulled her to his lap, “Dr. Shin, thank you for taking care of me.” He said as he peppered her with kisses, “You’re so perfect for me. Always looking after me and the others.”
Yunho then held her face then caressed her cheeks where she leaned on his hand, heart full of content, “You don’t deserve me.”
Y/n snapped out of her affection-filled stupor as she stared at Yunho and saw nothing but seriousness in his eyes. The latter took this as a sign to continue, “I did nothing but hurt you. I give you nothing but lots of headache and make you do all the work so I don’t get in trouble for real.”
Yunho dropped his head down and chuckled dryly, “Why are you with me, y/n? You know that it’s like I’m basically cheating on you whenever I take Sooah as my date during prom just for the show.”
“No?” Y/n said, her eyebrows furrowing, “Do you kiss her like you do to me behind my back? Do you fuck her against the wall like you do to me when she’s being a brat? Do you take her out on dates behind my back? Did you introduce her to your parents like how you did with me before? Do you willingly take her out and tell her to not say a word to anyone else in fear that you’ll get caught?”
Yunho shook his head with all of the things she had said and was about to speak but she cut him off to it, “You don’t. I know. You only do it when the crowd wants something from the two of you. You don’t even touch her hand or wrap your arm around her waist.” She said gesturing to the arm that is now wrapped around her, “The thing is that you act up with her when I see you and I think it’s one of the reasons why I tolerate the show you give everyone since then.”
“I really don’t mind,” She added then pouted, “Well now I do because the weekend routine was broken, but aside from that I really don’t mind.”
Y/n giggled then whispered in her boyfriend’s ear, “Besides, she doesn't get to ride your dick like I do.”
“Hey, stop being a brat, you little minx.” Yunho said and squeezed her hip, “You’re gonna make me pop a boner in the middle of feeling guilty.”
She couldn’t help but laugh and placed her arms in her shoulders, “Then don’t because I’m not mad at you. Just a bit sulky.”
“You didn’t talk to me for four days.”
“You deserve that, you broke your promise!”
“Justifiable.”
The both shared a smile as they stared at each other until y/n squirmed in his lap and said, “Kiss me, Jeong.”
Yunho didn't need to be told twice as he immediately closed the distance between the two of them. The sweet innocent kiss suddenly turns into something else, the atmosphere around them turning hot, making Yunho slightly sweat as he removes her blazer and she unbuttons his shirt slowly.
He licked her lower lip, a sign that he’s asking for access to her mouth but his little brat didn’t even budge so he bit her lip hard, too hard that he accidentally broke her skin making her yelp. He took it as an opportunity to insert his tongue, exploring her wet cavern as she tried to fight dominance with his.
Things were getting even more heated and before it even escalated, they didn’t even hear the sound of the key jingling and door unlocking as they were too busy with their own world. It was then that they heard a scream making them separate from each other.
“Christ, we came here all worried for the both of you only to see the both of you nearly fucking here, and not to mention in the lounge room?!” Seonghwa nearly yells as his girlfriend tries to calm him down. The reprimanded couple lets out their own apologies as they fixed their disheveled state as the others entered.
San looked so smug as he said, “Damn that was so hot though, I nearly wished I was there to watch the whole thing go down south.”
Yunho only glared at him, grumbling a ‘Fuck off, Choi San,’ earning a glare from the other since he hated being called by his full name.
Jongho came in last with some plastic bags which seemed to contain food boxes and said, “Seonghwa hyung pulled up some strings so we’re excused for the rest of the day. Here’s an uh.. extended lunch. We decided to just order McDonald’s instead.”
Everyone got their own food and ate silently, the others feeling relieved that they no longer have to witness a sulking giant puppy eating his lunch.
However, curiosity got the best of them and Yeosang decided to vocalize the question they all had, “Seonghwa hyung, what excuse did you say to the extent that they allowed it to be half of the school day?”
The man in question scratched his head and said, “I said we’re shouldering the prom committee and that we’re starting planning today.”
Everyone stopped eating their food only to look at Seonghwa wide-eyed and then Wooyoung shrieked, “What the fuck?!”
It was what triggered the chaos and complaints, Seonghwa shrinking down, especially with his girlfriend glaring daggers at her.
However, the two newly reconciled couple only looked at each other, Yunho then grabbed his phone and typed something, only for y/n’s to receive a ping.
Opening her phone, she saw a text from her boyfriend, Go to prom with me?
She couldn’t help but giggle and replied immediately, Absolutely.
Tumblr media
The next few weeks has been nothing but a busy week for them.
Y/n and Yunho have been more focused with theatre practices and then coming over Seonghwa’s house right after to plan and prepare for the prom. It has been so exhausting that they asked permission to their parents to stay together for the remaining months left so that they wouldn’t consume so much time going back and forth from school to Seonghwa’s house then going back home once again.
Of course their parents allowed them, not forgetting to remind them, especially the established couples to use protection which earned a lot of teasing remarks from their other friends.
They decided to stay at Seonghwa’s house since his parents are overseas for a few months which is enough time for them to prepare. Seonghwa also decided to assign his group of friends for the yearbook to which the others immediately agreed since they thought it’s a nice thing to keep their records detention free for at least a few months.
Today, however, is a special day for y/n.
It’s the performance day of the play she directed and she’s even more nervous as hell than the actors themselves.
She’s nervously waiting backstage where she’s staying in the same waiting room as her boyfriend’s. The guy was too busy to take notice of his girlfriend shaking from nervousness as he’s too engrossed to the game he’s playing.
After a round though, he noticed that she’s shaking and he just wrapped his arms around her waist and brought her in front of the mirror. They just looked at each other there and she smiled, “We look cute, what the hell.”
Yunho laughed and kissed her head, “We always do, baby.” He spun her around, making her face him, “However, you’re too nervous for my liking.” He shot her a smile and continued, “We’re going to do well, baby. You directed this, you guided me. Have a little faith in our team, okay?”
She lets out a sigh, “I have faith in our team, I’m just nervous that the audience wouldn’t like it.”
“They’ll love it, baby. It’s something that everyone can relate to. And besides,” Yunho smirked at her and said, “Everyone likes me.”
She rolled her eyes and slapped his chest, making them laugh.
“Let’s take some pictures.” She said and they snapped photos after photos.
When they’re done, one of the production team members knocks and smiles, “Hi, it’s showtime.”
Tumblr media
Seonghwa made his way downstairs only to be met with the sight of Y/n in her fluffy pajamas, munching her one out of her hundred pieces (don’t ask, Yunho paid for it) of chicken nuggets in a very sulky way. She had a cute pout on her face as she helps Jongho’s girlfriend with what’s assigned to them.
He made his way towards his girlfriend who’s lounging like a queen with their cat, Aeongi, in her lap on one of their couches in the living room. He planted a kiss on her lips and asked, “What happened to y/n?”
She just giggled as she lazily ran her hand in the cat’s soft fur and replied, “She’s sulky because Yunho’s been trending in the school’s gossip.”
Confused, Seonghwa voiced out, “But Yunho’s always trending in the gossip page, though?”
“Yes, darling. But it’s different right now.” She said and opened her phone to let him see the comments.
have you seen jeong yunho? he’s so handsome!
jeong yunho pls step on me
i cant believe jeong yunho’s no longer single but he did so well during the play. didn’t expect that from him, considering his reputation!
Seonghwa couldn’t help but snort as he read some more comments. Deciding to tease the girl he said, “Hey y/n, a lot of people are volunteering to get railed by Yunho.”
The others looked at the said girl who shrieked so loud that Yunho tumbled from the kitchen with wide eyes, “What happened?”
Y/n, however, only whined, “He’s mine.” She said and huffed making the others laugh.
Yunho just scratched his head and sat beside her as he held his cup of ramen and stole a piece of her chicken nugget, earning a cry from the girl.
The others fondly watched the oldest couple that has been established within their group, all of them silently wishing for them to last longer and be together until they grow old.
Tumblr media
“Wow..” Yunho is absolutely speechless, staring at the girl in front of him, “Baby, you’re so fucking pretty.” He said as he held her hand and twirled her around to see the details of her gown.
She couldn’t help but giggle and hugged him in his waist as he said, “You look good too, Yunnie. Very enticing.”
Today is their prom day and Yunho came to pick her up at their house. He recently got his driver’s license after turning nineteen but his parents insisted that they should be accompanied to the place with their personal driver and Yunho can no longer go against it because it’s his parent's wishes.
After months of stressing over the preparations, nearly forgetting Yunho’s and Seonghwa’s birthday, most of them decided to hold the ball on a beautiful day of April, just a few days before their graduation.
They settled with the theme of fairytale, glad that most students are willing to pay the huge expenses and sponsor the scholars who can’t afford to pay the fee.
To say that the venue is extravagant is an understatement. The Kim twins are the ones in charge with decorating the whole place and to say Seonghwa’s satisfaction was met is not enough to describe how content he felt when he saw the outcome.
They were mostly excused from classes but they always made sure to do their class related works within their tight schedule like they usually do. They did everything together for the remaining months and today is the day where they know that their hard work will pay off.
Seonghwa and his girlfriend came into view as Yunho and y/n both stared at each other lovingly. The two arriving couple couldn’t help but snort and broke them out of their trance, “You two look so fucking lovely but the prom hasn’t even started yet you’re already fucking each other with your eyes.”
Seonghwa couldn't help but laugh at his girlfriend’s remark especially when y/n pouted and planted her face to Yunho’s neck, the tall guy giggling at his girlfriend’s actions.
“Let’s wait for the others then we’ll go inside?”
The other three agreed to Yunho’s suggestion, talking about random things as they waited for the others.
The day escalated quickly.
From everyone screaming and jumping to hype songs, to eating expensive dinners catered by Wooyoung’s family restaurant, to currently slow dancing in the middle of the dance floor without thinking about anything.
Yunho has his arms tightly wrapped around y/n, perfect as usual, right where it’s supposed to be. They’re swaying along the song, Yunho softly singing the lyrics between the two of them as y/n stared at him lovingly.
They’re aware of the gazes that they’ve been receiving but neither of them actually cares at all.
What matters is that they’re together.
They’re happy.
Y/n ran her fingertips in Yunho’s cheek bone, her boyfriend leaning to her touch with his eyes closed. She smiled at the action and said, “High school’s nearing its end.”
He opened his eyes and replied, “Another chapter of our lives,” He placed a kiss on her forehead, “I can’t wait to spend every single day with you, finally. No boundaries, no one stopping us. Nothing. Just us.”
She softly smiled, “Just us.” She repeated and planted a kiss in his lips, “I’m looking forward to the future.”
“So am I, especially if it’s with you.”
If Yunho’s going to be honest, the concept of the future is something he’s afraid of. He’s not sure how many challenges will he face, how many failures he’ll experience and what sacrifices he will have to make in order to satisfy himself with success.
He’s also afraid of the fact that he doesn’t know what will happen to him and y/n in the future.
But as his parents had said, no one cares about the future. No one cares about what is written in the stars.
Today is what matters, not even tomorrow or the next day after.
If he’s spending today in his lover’s arms, then he’s filled with content and happiness.

idea inspired bc my bf likes to hold my boobs when we cuddle/sleep. i asked him why he likes he likes too but he got all shy and stopped. i want my tiddies grabbed so everytime we cuddle i slip his hand under my shirt so he knows he can do it. so maybe the brothers reactions to female mc grabbing their hands and doing that? hope that's ok! + sorry for the mini story 😔
The Brother's reaction to Mc letting them feel the tiddy:
Warning: Not really n/s/f/w, but chest feeling is mentioned. Chest is generalized so reader can be read as Gender Neutral.
Lucifer:
◇The first time you place his free hand on your bare chest is while you're sitting on his lap, keeping him company while he works per his request. He is incredibly confused by your action and raises a single brow to signify it. You do realize he still has work to do, right? As much as he wants to mess you up, he can't at the moment.
◇You have to bluntly tell him that this is just a comforting gesture to you. He won't question you any further but he will start wondering what other strange interactions humans have nowadays.
◇After a while he starts to notice how soft and warm your skin is under his hand and how comforting the rise and fall of your chest is. His tense form slowly relaxes and he finds himself at ease.
◇He's put in a good mood the whole day because of that gesture and he finds himself finishing some of his work quicker as well. When days are particularly rough, he now likes to hold you in private while resting his hands on your bare chest. Don't try to tease him about it while he has you in his grasp because this man will squeeze and tease back harder than you did.
Mammon:
♤The two of you were enjoying a rare, quiet moment in your room. You and Mammon laid on the bed close to one another and that's when a brilliant idea popped into your head. He was already a blushing mess when you took his hands but the moment you guided them under your shirt to place them on your bare chest he let out a strange screech like noise in the back of his throat, his face looked as red as Lucifer's vest.
♤He's quick to stutter out a, "What the hell do ya think you're doing!?" Even after you say that this is just a comforting feeling to you he's still a flustered mess.
♤He immediately notices how soft and warm your skin is under his hand and he's holding back from squeezing. He's in heaven but like hell he'd admit it.
♤If you try to pull away he'll prevent you from doing so. He'll quickly adjust your positions so he's spooning you from behind, hiding his face with your back as he tries to calm himself. He's always greedy to have you in his grasp. Even though he may 'protest' when you try this again, he won't completely fight you on it. He makes you promise not to do this with any of his other brothers.
Leviathan:
◇It was no secret that you loved teasing Leviathan here and there. His reactions were some of the cutest. So one day while sitting on his lap, you had the bright idea of slowly sliding his hands up your shirt while he was distracted watching a new anime of his. He didn't react much at first until he heard you gasp once his ice cold hands made contact with your skin, that was when the magic happened.
◇While Mammon had a weird scream in his throat, Levi actually let out a shrill shriek. You jumped at how loud it was but his hands still never left your chest. There are no words to describe how flustered and embarassed Levi was in that very moment.
◇He subconciously squeezed your chest due to his twitching fingers, the feel of how soft and warm they were under his cold hands rendered him completely speechless. He couldn't speak, he was just, frozen.
◇You tried to pull away after thinking that you may have finally broken him but he wouldn't let you go. He used his legs to trap you where you were, burying his face in the crook of his neck, anime left completely forgotten. He's fully enjoying how warm you are even though he's completely embarassed. If you ever want him to hold you this close again, this is possibly one of the many best ways of doing so. Just, please give him a warning before he actually dies.
Satan:
♤You two were initially studying in his room but the topic of different kinds of species came up and it sort of spiralled from there. He expresses that certain human media show fondness for chests though he could never understand why. You offer a more intimate research to see if you can help him understand, to which he agrees.
♤He's confused when you gently take his hands but his face slowly turns a light shade of red when you guide them up your shirt and onto your bare chest. He has to ask several times if this is really okay with you and you agree.
♤He knew humans were soft and warm but you just felt so different to the rest. The way you felt to him was incredibly comforting and the way your chest moved as you breathe was something he found oddly soothing even though he knew it was a normal thing living beings did.
♤He finds it super hard to pull his hands away but he didn't want to make you uncomfortable. He mumbles out how he thinks he can understand why some are fond of that particular area now. You can't help but tease him and say that he's always free to have another physical session if he'd like and he surprises you by agreeing to it. He soon discovers that the feeling of your chest really soothes him in a way he never knew possible.
Asmodeus:
◇You and Asmo were having your weekly self care session when this happened. While drying yourself after a relaxing soak in tub, Asmo talks about how he can guess a persons chest size, no matter the gender, just by feeling them. You called bullshit on this skill of his. He asked how he could prove it and the only thing you could think to do was grabbing his hand and placing it on your bare chest.
◇He's incredibly taken back by the forwardness of your actions that he actually forgets how to speak for a while. A few moments passes and he tells you your chest size. (If you knew your size to begin with, his answer was right.)
◇Still, even after he's given you his answer he's not willing to let go just yet. He gives your chest a bit of a squeeze and marvels at how nice it feels. He's been with many demons and humans, maybe even other creatures best unmentioned but he's never met someone with a chest close to perfection like his own. He wonders how everything about you is almost as perfect as he is.
◇Honey you started it, so best be prepared because now (with your consent beforehand) he's going to get a feel of your chest every chance he gets when you two are alone. He finds it very addicting to do so and it doesn't even lead to something sexual most of the time, he just genuinely enjoys the way they feel in his grip.
Beelzebub:
♤You were watching a human movie with Beel and everything was going fine, besides the fact that the movie was getting a little boring. A certain scene came up where the main couple were sleeping together and one of the characters had a hand on their lover's chest. Beel breaks the long comfortable silence to ask if it's a nice feeling to humans when a person touches their chest. You shrug and say that you like the feeling but you're not sure about how others feel about it.
♤He then asks if it's equally as nice to hold someone's chest and that's when you offer if he'd like to try. He grows flustered and doesn't say a word even while you guide one of his hands to your chest.
♤He's incredibly scared of hurting you, you'll have to reassure him that giving a small squeeze won't cause you pain. He does so with such care that that it makes you giggle at how sweet he is. His eyes seem to light up at how soft your skin and makes a reference that your chest feels like a marshmallow, causing you to laugh.
♤Your chest is now Beel's favourite thing to hold when you two are sleeping together. The way your chest moves to signify you're still alive and breathing brings Beel a lot more comfort than you realize, especially when he wakes up from a nightmare of his. It's more of a soothing and comforting gesture than a sexual one to him.
Belphegor:
◇It was normal for you and Belphie to sometimes sleep together after school and it was also normal for you to wake up hours earlier than him. If you were cuddling up to anyone else, moving wouldn't be such a big problem, but Belphie has an iron grip on you the moment he feels you try to leave. You can't even trick him, he just knows. So you accept your fate as his giant breathing pillow and decide to look through your D.D.D. while playing with his hair.
◇He suddenly moves you around so you're laying on your back and he's laying on his side with his limbs wrapped around you. Not one to waste an opportunity, you decide to play around with the arm that rested across your stomach. You flop it around at first, amazed that it doesn't stir him from his sleep, then you had the idea of placing his hand on your chest.
◇That's when he stirs a bit from his sleep, looking at your embarrassed face and then at where his hand is placed. He clicks his tongue and gives your chest a small squeeze, muttering out a 'nice,' before laying his head back onto your shoulder. It was such an odd experience that you couldn't help the stream of snickers that left your lips, despite being embarrassed at first.
◇He doesn't remember much of what happened and you don't really think it's that important to bring it up. However, while Belphie doesn't remember, his body sure does. His hands will start to roam on their own whenever you two sleep together and will make their way under your shirt to your chest. He doesn't know why he does it and you don't know why either, but the two of you are comfortable with it so you don't particularly mind.
Others: Ahh, I loved this request so much but holy shit I had to redo it like 3 times XDD IN THIS HOUSE, WE WORSHIP ALL TIDDIES! Thank you for the request anon! I'm a little insecure about this post so feel free to tell me if this wasn't what you wanted! Thank you for reading!!!

I know that despite Supergirl ending next season, a lot of us will probably still stick around for a long time. But over time we will find new interests to latch on to, so I thought it would be a good idea to highlight some sapphic ships/shows that are actually very respectful to their LGBT audience. A lot of these shows are fighting for more seasons, so check them out! They’re full of amazing cast and crew who do a lot for the community!
Motherland: Fort Salem: This show is about witches, and the gender reversal of female witches being drafted to the war upon turning 18. It encourages challenging gender roles, open and fluid sexuality, female empowerment through sexuality, and so much more. The best part is that Raelle and Scylla are the main couple and get amazing screen time! So much of the story revolves around their relationship.
Atypical: This show revolves around Sam, an autistic teen, and his family. Sam has an older sister named Casey who loves to give him a hard time. She starts out getting a boyfriend in season 1, but by season 2 she meets her new best friend Izzie and starts to question everything. By season 3, they’re a couple! It’s an amazing slow burn. They have one more season coming out on Netflix in 2021.
Teenage Bounty Hunters: This show centers around a set of twins named Sterling and Blair who go to an elite southern (and religious) high school. They find themselves taking up the unlikely career of bounty hunting. As if juggling all that wasn’t enough, Sterling finds herself catching feelings for her ex-frenemy April. They must now navigate that journey in a place that they don’t feel will be very accepting, so lots of angst ensues!
DC’s Legends of Tomorrow: If you’ve seen The Arrow then you know Sara Lances long and tragic backstory. She now leads a team of time traveling superhero’s called the Legends. The show starts out more serious, but over time becomes really silly, fun, and crazy. Sara becomes captain of the time ship and proceeds to hook up with random women throughout history. Until season 3 when she meets Ava, who becomes her girlfriend. They’re the main couple and you get to see a real and natural progression of their relationship.
Legacies: This series is the spin-off of The Originals, which is the spinoff of The Vampire Diaries (you shouldn’t really be confused if you didn’t watch those first though). It revolves around the children of TO and TVD characters, they go to a school for the supernatural and each week there is always a new monster for them to fight. One of the main characters, Josie, is bisexual. The show kicks off showing drama between Josie and her ex girlfriend Penelope. Penelope did leave the show, but last season they teased a possible romance between Josie and Jade (a new character).
Wynonna Earp: This show is about Wynonna and Waverly, the grandchildren of the famous gunslinger Wyatt Earp. You don’t have to be a history buff or even into the Wild West type genre to fall in love with this show. Waverly starts out with a boyfriend, but one visit from a ginger cop (Nicole) has her questioning everything. They become the main (and at times only) couple on the show, and it’s actually the most adorable thing you’ve ever seen. The actresses are both queer in real life and the cast is made up of amazing actors and crew members who love the LGBT community. So out of all shows to support, this is the one!! They’re fighting for a fifth season! #FiveForWynonna
Riverdale: I don’t think I have to explain that Riverdale is essentially just a bunch of oversexualized and traumatized high schoolers who very much need therapy. It’s a shitshow at this point. But one of the main couples, Cheryl and Toni, are actually very cute. The actresses are best friends in real life so it translates really well on screen. Their journey starts in season 2.
The Bold Type: This show revolves around a trio of best friends Kat, Sutton, and Jane who all work for a womens magazine. You get to see very strong and empowered women navigate their way through love, life, and their careers. Kat meets Adena, and quickly realizes she likes women. So she must go on a journey of realization and acceptance that is very relatable for a lot of WLW audiences, as both women are WOC.
Killing Eve: If you aren’t watching this already, watch it now!! The show revolves around a cat and mouse game between two women, Villanelle and Eve. Villanelle is a psychopathic Russian assassin with a tragic backstory. And Eve works for British Intelligence and lives a seemingly, nauseatingly boring life married to a bland white man. But the catch? She’s into female assassins. Both V & E become weirdly obsessed with each other very quickly, and it turns Eve’s entire life upside down as she starts to realize her feelings for Villanelle. Their relationship is so intoxicating to watch.
Euphoria: This show is not for the weak of heart. I can’t explain much without giving huge spoilers, but it tackles a lot of super heavy issues so read up on the trigger warnings first, especially if you’re sensitive to things like pedophilia, rape, drugs, bullying, etc. The main character Rue develops feelings for her new best friend Jules, and a lot of drama follows. The end of the season left it very unclear as to whether they will be endgame or not. So be warned with this one.
Dickinson: This show is about the famous poet Emily Dickinson, so it’s set in the 1800’s. It shows Emily’s struggle of dealing with a patriarchal world where she is not allowed to be herself. She fell in love with her best friend Sue, who is supposed to marry her brother out of necessity. It’s heart wrenching to watch Emily and Sue navigate that situation, so get your tissues ready! And beware it’s possible they won’t be endgame, as it is set in a very unacepting time period. But I could be very wrong. It’s been renewed for a season 2, so we’ll see!
If you want everything Supergirl would never give us.. Killing Eve, Wynonna Earp, and Motherland Fort Salem are exactly what you’re looking for. It’s full of cast and crew who embrace the community and give amazing representation. This list just highlights the ones I’m currently into so please add on more if you know of any!!

semi-translating/summarizing some things p’boss said on the hardest brief podcast. putting it under the cut because it ended up being wayyy longer than expected. also, my thai knowledge is that of a little kid who left her country very young so i probably missed some words/references, sorry!
(i got lazy and skipped the last part where they talked about the props and the colors (red = oh-aew, blue = teh, purple = tarn) but i feel like enough folks on here have done the color/visual analysis so we should be good):
he had this story he wanted to tell about two childhood friends and also knew he wanted to cast pp and billkin, but to make it work they had to pull from pp and billkin’s personalities to make sure that the characters they ended up creating would mesh with who pp and billkin are as performers; in writing the script, they sometimes asked pp and billkin to talk about their experiences as teenagers and adapted it to the series, so for example the storyline where teh and oh-aew meet each other again at afterschool chinese class and start out not liking each other, comes from pp and billkin’s real life when they first met and didn’t like each other
the interviewer asked p’boss to talk about how the itsay team has balanced representation in terms of gender and sexual orientation, and p’boss said it was important to have a team that understands the human experience and can draw from life experiences from multiple perspectives, which led to diversity in gender, sexual orientation, and age
when asked whether itsay is a Y series (BL), p’boss said his intention is to tell a story about the relationship between two boys, so it depends on how you define what counts as BL, LGBTQ, etc.
the interviewer and p’boss had this conversation about what characterizes something as BL, and the interviewer said after asking around it seemed like BL is about relationships between boys but more from a fantasy lens and tends to be different from gay couples in real life, and focuses on scenes between the two male leads, scenes that make you “pinch your pillow” (op: like scenes that make you squeal), but not so much on other moments outside of that; p’boss’s response (approximate translation): “i’m not sure myself, but from what i know, BL series seem to be about relationships between boys, but from the perspectives of girls, since that tends to be the target audience. so it tends to be what makes girls happy, what entertains them, that ends up being the content of BL.”
p’boss on lgbtq series: “i think it looks deeply at the real lives of people who are lgbt, it might be more realistic. it might be like, this is a real thing, but when you tell it in a series it becomes dark, but it’s real. in terms of itsay, in the beginning i didn’t know how to classify it, but when a lot of people started calling it lgbt, i thought, okay. [...] it’s just the story i wanted to tell, and i wanted to tell it with as much humanity as possible. i don’t want to limit viewers, i want as many people to see this as possible, so we can call it whatever they want as long as they watch it and it makes them happy.”
this is his first series focusing on lgbtq characters, but in hormones he wrote goi and dao’s characters (op: i didn’t know this?!)
with itsay, p’boss said it was important to him to have slower pacing to explore the intricacies of the emotions in each scene (different types of anger, different ways of sulking, different types of happy, different types of crying), making it somewhat different from my ambulance where things had to move more quickly to keep up with the speed of a tv drama
the interviewer asked “how does having two male leads change how you work?” and p’boss said there’s nothing different in the way you build chemistry between the two characters because you would just pull from their personalities, but the difference is in the conflict of the story which involves confusion and questioning about sexual orientation which a straight couple wouldn’t go through
p’boss: “when we think about how teh is the kind of person who doesn’t say what he’s thinking, or how oh-aew is the kind of person who’s upfront, anyone can play those roles--women, men, gay people, trans people can all have these roles.”
the interviewer said “itsay seems to be expanding the scope of lgbtq narratives by presenting it as easier for the characters to come out and say they love someone of the same sex. for example, especially compared to love of siam where the kiss scene between mario and pchy was considered something shocking, or in hormones, with the relationship between march and tou (phu and thee) where the characters spent a lot of time fighting with themselves about who they were attracted to. but in itsay, oh-aew was totally straightforward in saying he liked bas. do you think that’s because it’s easier and more open today?” p’boss: “i think the content changes depending on the generations, and oh-aew is really of today’s generation. it’s not that there are no longer kids who are confused about their sexual orientation or afraid to come out, even if ten or twenty years pass there will probably still be some kids who experience that. but there are people who are open and happy about how they live their lives. oh-aew is the type of lgbtq character that’s like, ‘i’m gay, and i’m proud to be who i am.’ [...] and it’s very positive that he sees himself as equal to straight people, because when we’re born, we can love anyone. if you’re a man, you can love another man and that’s a normal thing. that’s oh-aew’s attitude: i’m lgbtq, i’m gay, i’m proud, my parents accept me, and i can tell anyone confidently who i can love. i think a lot of people in this generation already see this as something normal, and we really need to make it something that’s equal. oh-aew represents that equality.”
p’boss on teh: “teh is a character who seems to come from older societal expectations where he’s a man, and he has to love women. but there are people who do still think this way. for teh, it’s hard for him to accept that he might like boys, but when he finds out oh-aew likes boys, he’s totally fine with it and sees it as normal. i feel like society needs to progress to this point, and beyond it, because it all has to be seen as normal. a lot of people when they talk about gay people they say there has to be a top and a bottom, but in reality anything can work, love can happen however. one day i could date someone who’s a trans woman, that’s possible, because it’s about feelings. or a woman who has always loved men could one day date a woman, that’s possible too. there’s a lot of freedom, and i want the characters to show that.”
they talked about how in the scene where teh pretends to hit on oh-aew in front of all their friends, the friends are shocked not that teh is attracted to guys, but they’re shocked that teh likes someone in the friend group. and that goes to show that it’s normal for someone to like someone of the same sex, whereas 20 years ago maybe the characters would have reacted in confusion or shock.
p’boss talking about what was challenging about making this series: “in terms of writing the script, we had to think about how to tell the story in a way that shows the characters’ emotions at all times. for example in episode 2, we explored the restlessness that teh feels when he’s confused about he feels jealous or possessive of his friend. when we say it like that, it’s relatable to people who know what it’s like to feel possessive of their best friend, but how to execute that on the screen is a different matter.”
why phuket? p’boss: “when i decided to tell a story about two boys, i wanted the atmosphere to be romantic. even if the story isn’t romantic, like two boys who are best friends eating together, but i wanted the visuals to be romantic that it looks like it could be a romance film. it intrigues the viewers and adds a certain sweetness to it. i wanted a good environment, so i searched in a lot of different provinces. at first i went to ayutthaya, mae hong son, chiang mai, chiang rai, songkhla. but when i talked to the team, one person wanted to go to the mountains, another wanted to go to the cape, another wanted to go to the beach. even if there’s a beach there has to be a city. we wanted everything, and phuket has it all. old town has a city feel, but there’s also the beach and mountains, so we decided to go to down to phuket while we were writing the script, to confirm whether it would actually work. i’m from hatyai, so i’m from the south, but i rarely ever went to phuket so i wasn’t sure if it would work.”
p’boss said filming the underwater kiss was difficult because there needed to be sunlight in order to capture everything in the way they wanted, but when they got to the island, there was no sun and it was about to rain. so they looked up the color of luck/success for that day and it was purple (op: i dont have context for this so i can’t explain further lol), so they told everyone to wear a purple shirt. the day they went to film the scene, they all wore purple shirts, but when they got to the site it looked like it was about to rain, so p’yong took off his shirt and hung it on the boat, and as they were filming, every time they said “action” the sun would come out and every time they said “cut” the sun would go away, and p’boss said it was magical and that’s how it came out to be the scene we saw.

illicit affairs (Spencer Reid x Reader)
Summary: You catch feelings for Spencer after the two of you start casually sleeping together. He doesn’t.
Warnings: Sexual themes, no actual smut though.
Notes: ANGST. This is based off of the song illicit affairs by Taylor Swift! The song implies that there’s cheating but I can’t see Spencer ever cheating on someone so the scandal of this relationship is that reader and Spence are co-workers and there’s a pretty big age gap. (OBVIOUSLY reader is 18+, I imagine late 20s cause they’re in the FBI. By season 15 I think Spencer is in his late 30s/early 40s) This takes place AFTER the season 15 finale so if you haven’t finished the show don’t read this! There is a pretty big spoiler for the finale! Oh also I tried to make this gender neutral but if I accidentally left in any female pronouns lmk and I’ll fix it :)
oh another thing, I’ve seen a lot of people writing based off of songs from folklore (as they should) so just a little disclaimer: if this bears any resemblance to another story based off of illicit affairs it’s a coincidence! I’ve purposely been avoiding most of the stories i see based off folklore songs cause i don’t wanna accidentally steal an idea but i also understand that there’s only so many stories you can make based off of one song so there’s bound to be some elements that are shared between different fics.

You’d only been the BAU’s technical analyst for a month the first time. It had been hard joining the very close team, considering you were the youngest member and you were replacing one of their closest friends, but Spencer had taken a liking to you faster than the rest of the team. You knew none of them meant to make you feel bad, but sometimes you felt like you were living in the shadow of the great Penelope Garcia. You never missed the comments about how much she was missed, how great of a hacker she was, how she always came through. Spencer was the only one who actively avoided comparing you to your predecessor. So, really, it’s no surprise that you ended up in his bed after the team came back from a rough case. Unfortunately for you, that was the beginning of your doom.
~ the first time ~
The team was getting off the jet after a rough case. Normally, as the technical analyst, you didn’t have to travel with the rest of the BAU, but this one had called for you to be on site for the first time since you joined the BAU. You were tired, and heartbroken from the deadly results of the past couple days, and all you really wanted to do was go home and cuddle up in bed with someone. Of course, you didn’t have anyone to be with, so you’d have to settle for a cup of cocoa and a comforting movie. As you headed to your car, you heard one of your co-workers, Reid, calling your name.
“Y/N?” You stopped your walking and turned to see the doctor walking towards you. “Do you mind giving me a ride? It’s late, I’d rather not try and get a taxi at this hour.” If it was anyone else, you probably would’ve said no, but you couldn’t resist Spencer’s charm. He was over 10 years your senior, and you knew it could never happen because of workplace rules, but it never hurt to dream.
“Y-yeah, of course. You live on 23rd and…”
“42nd street. It’s not too out of your way, is it?”
“No, not at all.” It’s on the opposite side of town. You’re sure he could easily tell if you were lying, but he was either too tired to notice or willing to ignore it. When you finally glanced up to meet Spencer’s eyes, you found him already staring you down. With a light blush forming on your cheeks, you lead him to your car.
On the ride to Spencer’s, the two of you discussed how you felt about the case.
“How did you feel with everything? I know you usually don’t have to see firsthand everything that goes on during our cases.” He asked.
“It was..a lot.” You paused, letting yourself steal a glance towards Spencer before focusing your eyes on the road. “I much prefer experiencing these cases from behind a computer screen.”
“That’s understandable. Garcia was the same way. It’s always good having someone to talk to about the rough cases.”
The conversation continued, but you weren’t really focusing on the words passing between the two of you. No, you were much more interested in Spencer’s hands. Specifically, his left hand, which was slowly inching closer and closer to your thigh. By the time you were pulling up in front of his apartment building, his hand had reached your lower thigh, just above your knee. Now that you weren’t driving, you could face him, and you found that he was carefully watching you. “Is this ok?” He asked. If you wanted an out, this was it. No lines have been crossed, no rules broken, it’d be so easy to stop this now and go back to normal at work Monday morning.
“Yes.” Once the words left your mouth, Spencer leaned towards you, closing the gap between you. The kiss started gentle, but was far from innocent. You let him have complete control as he explored your mouth. You could feel his intentions through the kiss, and you knew you’d be in for a night. When he pulled away, you could see that his pupils were bigger, and you were sure your face was completely red.
“Come in?” It was a question, but it felt more like a command. Your only response was to remove the key from your car’s ignition before you both quickly headed up to Spencer’s apartment.
~~
Your many nights with Spencer started out comforting. Whenever there was a rough case, or just a bad day, you could count on him to make you feel better. You were far from a relationship; No one knew that the two of you occasionally slept together, and you never talked about it outside of your meetings. You supposed you could label it as friends with benefits, but that felt like it downplayed what you were to each other. Or, what Spencer was to you. You’re not stupid, you know that he doesn’t feel for you the way you do for him. You’re well aware that you’re not exclusive, and that he has no obligations to you. But when you’re together, which is becoming more and more frequent, you’re really together. Sometimes it’s easy to forget when you’re with him that he’s not your boyfriend. He gives you gifts, calls you baby, sometimes he even brings you to fancy hotels. But the second you two separate, your relationship makes a 180. In the bedroom, you’re “baby.” At work, you’re “kid.” In the bedroom, you wear the perfume he bought you and he praises you for it. When you dared to wear it at work, he’d completely ignore you.
Every minute you spend with him, you fall a little bit more. But every second you’re apart, your heart breaks over and over again.
~ the hundredth time ~
You were in your car, outside of Spencer’s building. As the two of you kissed, Spencer pulled you on top of his lap. You pulled away for a moment, but he captured your lips once more before you could get your words out. This time, your hand pushed him away so you could speak. “Shouldn’t we go inside?”
“Why not just stay here?” His lips found your neck for a moment before he kept speaking, “It’s faster. We cut out the middleman, you can get home sooner.” You were glad Spencer’s lips were focused on your neck, because it meant he couldn’t see the insulted look on your face. You knew the two of you hadn’t been quite as romantic lately, if ever, but you felt like you were slapped in the face when Spencer implied that even spending the time to walk you to his apartment, having a nice conversation over a drink was just the “middleman.” Before you could respond, however, he pulled away from your neck and looked at you. “Besides, haven’t you always wanted to do it in a car?” And just like that, his charm had caught you again. You smiled, and kissing him again, harder this time. You put all your energy into focusing on him, making each other feel good, and no on how your once romantic nights were slowly turning into quickies whenever Spencer felt like getting off.
~~
At work, you and Spencer were good at keeping it professional. Both of your jobs could be in trouble if people found out. When you really thought about it, you knew that Prentiss would probably be ok with you two dating if you went through the proper procedures with HR, but Spencer had said it’d be better to keep it secret. You didn’t want whatever you two were to end, so you went along with it.
Today was a rare calm day at the BAU, with no new cases for the team to work on. You’d been catching up on paperwork in your office, but when you were in need of coffee, you decided to stop by the other team member’s desks on the way to the coffee machine. Now that you’ve been with the team for over a year, You’d gotten pretty close with the members. You and Luke have inside jokes, you babysit Matt and JJ’s kids, you, Tara, and Rossi bond over your shared love of old cars. When you walked into the office space, you weren’t surprised to find Spencer, Luke, and Matt talking around their desks instead of doing paperwork. When you walked past the trio, you overheard their conversation.
“So, Reid, you coming tonight? Rossi said he’d bring out the good scotch.” Luke asked. You knew they’d been planning a poker night. Not really your thing, but you figured you’d join just to be with the team. Spencer’s answer to the question is what really got your attention.
“I can’t. I’ve got a date.” You almost tripped over your feet on the way to the coffee machine when you heard him. A date?
“Oh? Is this the same girl from last week?” Matt asked. As you poured your coffee, you tried your best to listen in without being obvious. You and Spencer had been together last Wednesday...were they talking about you? Had Spencer mentioned that he was seeing you? Did he consider your hookups as dates?
“Yup. I’m not sure where it’s going yet, but I’m excited.” Your mind was racing at this point. Either your dreams were finally coming true, or you were about to get your heartbroken for the millionth time. You were so lost in your thoughts you didn’t even notice that Spencer had made his way towards you to get himself another cup of coffee. “Y/N? You alright, you look a little worried.” He asked, snapping you out of your thoughts. You knew you should wait till you’re in a more private location, but your words come out of your mouth before you could stop them.
“A date tonight? I didn’t think we had plans.” You took a sip of your coffee, trying to seem as nonchalant as possible. If he was talking about you, you didn’t want to seem over excited. But if he wasn’t, well…
The face he made gave away the answer before he spoke. “Oh, uh, no. We don’t.” Ouch. “I met someone at the bookstore near my place a couple weeks ago.” He paused, not making eye contact with you as he poured his coffee. “That’s uh,” His voice was lower this time, “That’s not a problem is it?”
“No! Not at all.” You answered a little too quickly. “It’s not like we’re dating, right?” You didn’t wait for his answer before you walked away. When you made it back to the safety of your office, you couldn’t help the single tear that dropped from your eye before you got back to work.
Instead of going to Rossi’s with the rest of the team, you spent the night alone with a cup of cocoa and a comforting movie, like you wish you had a year ago.

My Official Dream SMPsona: Flower
(I heard some of you guys wanted to see this, and this was pretty fun to make. Ask box is open, I’d love to talk about her more. I’ll have to work at drawing her later this week, so be on the lookout for that! Anyway, hope you enjoy! - Minty)
------------------------------
Name: Flower
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Straight Demisexual

Current Cannon Lives: 2/3
Alignment: Neutral Good
Fighting: Only skilled with a bow/crossbow, otherwise is absolutely terrible at PVP.
Look: Short brown hair, dark blue eyes, pale skin, black framed glasses, dark blue sweatshirt with black leggings and blue sneakers. Either wearing a light pink flower crown or a random flower in her hair.
-------------------------------
Quotes:
“I am NOT weak! Don’t you ever DARE call me weak!”
“You know what they say, Tubbo: Tomorrow is always another day, and it’ll probably be a better one.”
“I help because… because… because I want to. I need to. So many people are hurting, and I… I just didn’t want to add to that. If so much bad happened, we need a little good to balance, don’t we?”
“My name is Flower and I speak for the trees!”
“These are my cat babies, hurt them and you die.”
“STOP! Just… just stop, stop it please, I...I dunno what to choose, I don’t… I don’t want to choose, don’t MAKE me choose!”
“You deserve a grave, Ghostbur. Everyone deserves to be remembered, no matter what. It’s not about what they did while they were alive, they were people. They deserve to be remembered as a person. A person who tried.”
“You know Philza Minecraft, you’re pretty cool.”
-----------------------------------
Fun Facts / Headcanons:
Extremely Indecisive, especially when it comes to joining a group because she doesn’t want to hurt any of her friends. She always wants to make the right decision, but as the choices turn more grey she can get stressed and put pressure on herself, always worried about doing something wrong that sometimes she’ll go into a full panic attack. This can lead to frustration when she seems to just be helping all of them instead of just choosing one.
Always ready to help and lend materials to others whenever they need.
Has a cat named Rose and another named Lavender, is self-proclaimed ‘Cat-Mom’.
Loves giving gifts to anyone at any time for whatever reason - she loves making others happy, as well as giving others something to remember her by when she’s gone.
Made the land around her house a nature preserve and went to court over the matter when someone chopped down her birch tree.
Has a book full of inspirational quotes that she sometimes uses in conversation.
Is often called “weak” for her PvP skills by Schlatt, Dream, and a few times even Techno, which got under her skin all too quickly, leading her to desperately try to constantly prove them wrong, getting angry and upset when it doesn’t work. This leads to many of them picking on her and pushing her around since she can’t exactly fight back.
Always sees the good in everyone, even some of the darkest villains, which many say is naive. She sees people like Wilbur, Schlatt, Dream - as people hurting and in need of help. Of course, she doesn’t try to excuse what they’ve done, but she doesn’t like when people call them evil or monsters, because to her they’re not. Everyone has good inside of them, they’ve just lost that part of themselves, even ignoring it.
She lives by the golden rule and didn’t like when people celebrated Schlatt’s death or Tommy’s and made no gravestone for Wilbur. Treat people the way you want to be treated - do you want people to celebrate your death, or to never memorialize you or even give you a proper burial?
When her friends and allies turn against her, she’s never mad at them. Just disappointed in what they let themselves become, and holds no ill-will toward any of them.
After the Manburg v Pogtopia War, seeing all the heartbreak, destruction, and hurt that was caused she committed herself to spread a bit of happiness around, to bring it all back to balance and help people recover - planting flowers around New L’manburg, helping Phil settle in as well as helping to rebuild.
She grows closer with Phil and Tubbo during this time - Phil appreciated her kind spirit and help, which he said he’d repay tenfold, and Tubbo liked her support and help to rebuild, especially when he was forced to exile Tommy, she reminded her Dream put them in a tough spot, that there wasn’t much of a choice.
She turned her protected lands into a healing garden and invited any who needed it to visit - she added a bench swing and a small pond.
She once followed Phil to find Techno, and the two panicked, Technoblade almost killing her before Phil stepped in, vouching for her. She promised not to say anything if it would put them more at ease. When questioned by Technoblade on her intentions, her answer was pretty simple: “Look, I don’t really understand why you did what you did. You hurt a lot of people and caused a lot of pain. But I don’t feel like it’s my place to judge you, I don’t know the story and I don’t think it’s my story to know. I’m glad you’re okay, Technoblade.”
When she goes against the Butcher Army, Quackity pushes her around, asking what she thinks she’s going to do against four people with netherite armor and axes. She tries to fight but as always she gets beat up pretty badly. Finally, she just turns to look at Tubbo. “Look at what you’re doing, Tubbo. Please, this isn’t the way.” When they go toward Phil, she steps in front to protect him as the tensions rise and she loses a cannon life by Quackity after he gets so mad at her protests he snaps and gets rid of her.
After he escapes she goes to meet Technoblade in secret, asking for training. She realized that if she was going to do any good, she needed to get stronger. They make a deal for him to train her, but in return, she’ll have to be his eyes in New L’manburg in order to help out Phil. She agrees.
She continues to train as the days pass and eventually she helps Phil escape and get back to the safety of Techno’s house. The training continues when Techno has the time.
When both her teacher and her close friend side with Dream to destroy her home, she tells them that she won’t stop them or betray them, but she needed to protect her home, that her friends needed her. When Technoblade insisted that this was a betrayal, she reminded him that it wasn’t, that for the longest time she supported him and helped him even though she didn’t always agree with him, and now she’s asking that he does the same. She gives them some gapples and a couple of potions. “I’ll see you both on the other side. I’m sorry. Just… be careful, and do what you have to do.”
She moves her stuff just in case, knowing her friends, and cries with the others over the destruction of her home. When Phil finds her after, wanting to talk after his interaction with Ghostbur, she tells him that it isn’t the best time right now, trying to force a smile. “Hey, look - I’m happy for you, Phil. I’m happy that you succeeded, I just need a bit more than a minute, okay? We’ll talk tomorrow.”
She gives both Tubbo and Tommy on the Final Confrontation Day each a cookie and wishes them the best of luck, and was there, willing to risk another life to protect Tommy and Tubbo and stop Dream from causing more hurt and destruction than he already has.

“The ideal relationship that young women in the postwar decade were hoping for was what historians have dubbed "companionate marriage." The term is usually used to describe a marital ideal that incorporates characteristics such as companionship, mutual affection, and respect between spouses. In the early twentieth century, this was certainly not a new notion. According to some historians, the idea that marriage should be based at least in part upon affection and mutuality has been a feature of Western beliefs ever since the Reformation. Yet in the early decades of the twentieth century the significance ascribed to emotional ties between spouses grew to unprecedented heights.
Simultaneously, new ideas about the role of sexuality in marriage came to replace older ones, and popular understandings of what constituted proper behavior for husbands and wives began to shift. In that sense, the era witnessed the emergence of a new marital ideal, and among its key advocates was the generation of women who came of age in the 1910s and 1920s. At the core of these young women's marital ideals were trust, sharing, and companionship. Much like generations before them, they envisioned the ideal marriage as a partnership, but in contrast to their mothers and grandmothers they rejected gender difference and gender complementarity as the basis for this partnership.
While they expected husbands and wives to fulfill gender-specific roles and responsibilities within marriage, they defined the ideal relationship as one of equal and fundamentally similar partners who shared a deep emotional intimacy. As one young woman noted six months before her wedding in 1920, "I would . . . only want to marry a man who sees me as his beloved, his companion and friend, a participant and advisor in all that life brings."
Using similar language, another young woman expressed the same hopes for her marriage. "The thought of sitting with my dearest friend in our own home, enjoying each other's company, quietly pondering the events of the day—that is one of the things I look so much forward to," she confided in a letter to her sister a few months before her wedding in 1924. "I will want to hear everything that is on his mind. [I will want to be] his friend, his assistant, his fellow conspirator on our journey through life."
Further differentiating their beliefs from nineteenth-century notions of an ideal marriage was the emphasis young women placed on physical intimacy. If their parents' generation had shied away from displays of physical affection, young women denned the ideal relationship as one characterized by emotional expressiveness, romance, and affection. In the words of one "happily married young wife," "tenderness and caresses— those are the things that sustain a marriage." Never, she counseled other women, should they "be stingy with or embarrassed by your love."
By the 1920s, new sexual ideologies had also filtered into young women's consciousness. By then, references to Freudian psychology and the writing of European sexologists were common even in popular magazines, and Danish sex reformers had already for years insisted on the importance of sexual enjoyment for both spouses in marriage. Not surprisingly, young women therefore incorporated pleasurable sexual relations as a key component in their marital ideal. As one young wife argued in 1920, "Marital relations, the complete giving of oneself to the other" ought to be the foundation for "a deep and beautiful shared life."
According to another young woman, marital success depended on "physical passion, a deep, mutual longing toward complete intimacy and abandonment of oneself to the other." "If this [passion] is not present," she continued, "it is not advisable to enter into marriage since [sexual relations] otherwise easily will make the woman feel degraded, the man disappointed, and daily life together will start crumbling." By the late 1920s, the notion that sexual passion was essential to marital success had become so widely accepted that when the Copenhagen newspaper B.T. in 1930 invited its readers to submit their answers to the question "What makes a marriage happy?" the winning essay emphasized exactly this aspect.
"It is important that the two [spouses] are erotically compatible," the prize winners "A. L. and wife" noted. "Otherwise," they added, "their happiness will collapse sooner or later." Understandably, the generation of women who had insisted on being pals with men before marriage also carried this ideal with them after their weddings. In contrast to older patterns of separate, gender-segregated work and leisure activities for husbands and wives, they conceived of the ideal marriage as one in which spouses led deeply intertwined lives, sharing not only bed and board but also free time, hobbies, and interests.
"A husband and a wife should share with each other every aspect of their life . . . and in a good marriage they will naturally want to do so," "Mrs. Marie" declared in 1925. Other women agreed, arguing that a "good marriage is built on true friendship. Shared interests allow a husband and a wife to continue to be good friends. .. . It is therefore of vital importance for a marriage that spouses have good interests in common." In the course of the postwar decade, then, young women, bent on freer, more exciting lives than those of their mothers, came to conceive of the ideal marriage as an intimate, egalitarian, sexually pleasurable partnership between like-minded individuals sharing, and enjoying, their lives to the greatest extent possible.
If women who came of age in the postwar decade were particularly enthusiastic in their embrace of this marital ideal, the ideal itself did not necessarily derive from within their circles. In the 1910 and 1920s popular writers, journalists, psychologists, sexologists, advice columnists, and marriage counselors across the Western world promoted this vision of an ideal marriage. In their eyes, the norms and values that had shaped nineteenth-century marriages had simply become obsolete. Not only did asceticism and self-control seem increasingly old-fashioned in an emerging consumer culture, but patriarchal authority also seemed to violate new, more modern sensibilities.
The gradual decline of separate spheres and experiments with cross-gender camaraderie had made emotional distance between spouses inappropriate. And in the light of new knowledge about the human mind and the human body, the kind of sexual repression that supposedly characterized nineteenth- century marriages had become outdated. In the twentieth century, such behaviors no longer had their place, and like the Scandinavian legislators who passed the marriage reform bills, they believed it necessary that marriages be reformed if the institution was to survive. Up against older norms, they therefore championed intimacy, romance, and camaraderie as the true foundations for a happy marriage, and young women adopted many of their ideas from these sources.
Surely, some young men must have been as interested as their female peers in this new marital ideal, but if that were the case, it was not something to which its many advocates paid much attention. Instead, the vast majority of the experts who played such a crucial role in the conceptualization of the new ideal seemed to rely almost entirely on women to carry out their vision. With few exceptions, they directed their counsel toward wives—not husbands or even couples—implicitly delegating to women the responsibility for translating the new ideal into reality. In part, this reflected conventional expectations of women as patrons and regulators of emotional life. As one advice columnist explained, "It is, after all, a good wife who holds the key to family happiness."
But by focusing their attention on women, marriage reformers also acknowledged that wives had a particular interest in promoting change. While companionate marriage was supposed to promote greater satisfaction for both spouses, they were keenly aware that women had more at stake in this issue. As one marriage counselor astutely noted, "Because the husband will have to give up some of the privileges he has previously had in the home, he can in most cases not be expected to lead the effort." In many ways, young women and professional experts therefore depended upon each other in their efforts to reform marriage.
Throughout the postwar decade, young women eagerly read their tracts and listened to their recommendations, and the woman who wrote to an advice columnist, "I have asked my husband to read your answers," was certainly not the only one who sought to take advantage of professional expertise. Experts, on the other hand, quickly realized that even husbands who professed an interest in freer, more egalitarian relationships did not necessarily feel the same urgency about realizing these ideals as the women they married, and wisely enough, they therefore turned their attention toward female audiences, commending them for their willingness to take on what one journalist solemnly called "this great new labor of love."
But despite such occasional praise, marriage reformers tended to be more critical than supportive of the women who shared their ideals. Having delegated to them the responsibility for creating new marital relationships, they quickly proceeded to translate that responsibility into a duty and obligation, and when marriages failed, they typically placed the blame on wives. As one marriage counselor lectured young brides, "A husband's love . . . is a fragile flower that must be tended by gentle hands. If all women owned such gentle hands, marriage would not be such an unstable enterprise."
Because of their alleged responsibility in this area, women were, for example, more and more frequently made to bear the brunt of criticism when husbands lost interest in their wives. As one 1923 headline in a women's magazine asked, "Whose Is the Fault? Doesn't the Reason for the Many Divorces Often Lie in Women's Lack of Ability to Renew Themselves?" Over and over again, experts identified wives' carelessness with their looks as a key source of marital problems. Describing the near demise of one marriage, one magazine columnist typically noted that "during her engagement [the wife was] always dressed up, and her hair was always waved and carefully set."
After the wedding she "slackened off" and began to appear "at the breakfast table with greasy cold cream on her face, curlers in her hair and wearing slippers," inevitably alienating her husband's affections. Only because she mended her ways, insisted the writer, did the marriage survive. As a result, marriage manuals often included beauty advice, and beauty experts often presented themselves as substitute marriage counselors. In addition, women were repeatedly reminded to retain their appeal as partners in conversation. This entailed, experts argued, a general open mindedness and at least some knowledge of events outside the domestic sphere.
"A woman might possess plenty of admirable qualities," one magazine cautioned, "but if she cannot talk about anything besides her household, if she does not read anything, and if she does not know anything beyond the grind of everyday life, then no intelligent man will be able to stand her in the long run."" When one young wife somewhat indignantly asked an advice columnist whether "a husband has the right to be disgruntled just because his wife is mostly preoccupied with housework," she should therefore have expected the lecture she was about to receive.
"Your husband is right," the editor of the column answered her. Today, a wife's duty extends far beyond cooking, baking, and washing. Like her husband, she ought to be interested in all forms of cultural enrichment available to her. She should not just be a washboard, a broomstick, and a wooden ladle. It is her responsibility to be her husband's intellectual match, and she should be interested in those cultural aspects that give life depth and nourishment and provide material for conversations that move beyond ordinary everyday nonsense. .. . In the end, it is the latter that creates the foundation for good fellowship—for marriage itself.
Obviously, married women were not encouraged to expand their minds because of the gratification they might find in this, but because of the pleasure it would bring their husbands. In the blunt words of one columnist, "[A] wife should be interested in the world outside the home if she wants her husband to be interested in her." Simultaneously, wives were encouraged to tone down their own problems and concerns. Specifically, they should never talk about housekeeping. "Meet him with a bright smile and a loving welcome," one marriage counselor suggested. "Do not immediately launch into a detailed description of all your worries and calamities."
Adding to this general advice, another writer explained that "when a husband goes out frequently, it is because he is bored to death of listening to an endless monologue about the butcher and the baker and the grocer and the high prices on everything and about the children who always fight etc. in one never-ending gray monotony. No men like to listen to all that. . . . The wise wife therefore keeps her worries and troubles to herself." Obviously, if wives were to engage their husbands in the kind of intimate conversation they were longing for it would be on terms set by men. Only if they adopted interests and issues deriving from men's world and experiences could they with some justification expect their cooperation.
Popular magazines, marriage manuals, and advice columns soon added yet another requirement to the list of criteria for being an attractive wife. From the mid-1920s, they began to bring up the issue of marital sexuality, reminding women of the importance of being active and interested sexual partners for their husbands. In itself, this emphasis on sexual pleasure in marriage was not entirely new. Since the beginning of the twentieth century, sexuality had generally been presented as a positive feature of marriage for both spouses. What was remarkable about the postwar discourse on marital sexuality was the change in tone.
Prior to the 1920s, marriage and sex manuals had been aimed at men, typically giving them advice about how best to initiate young wives into marital sexuality without alienating their affection or crushing their desires. In the course of the 1920s, advice givers shifted their focus from men to women, admonishing wives not to neglect their sexual duties. From the mid-1920s, women were repeatedly reminded of their obligation to retain their spouses' erotic interest or suffer the consequences. If a husband fell in love with another woman, "saving his affection and politeness for her and taking his bad temper out on his wife," it was, one expert warned, most likely "because [the wife] no longer dresses up to please him."
A modern wife should, others claimed, "also be a mistress" and "at all times seek to captivate her husband." "Never be cold, indifferent or unwilling to give yourself to your husband if you want to preserve his love," one advice columnist warned. "It will alienate [him] and only bring unhappiness into your home." By the end of the decade, wives were not only expected to engage in marital sexuality with pleasure, but had in fact been accorded the responsibility for maintaining an erotic atmosphere within the home and providing sexual fulfillment for their husbands. In the course of the 1920s, experts of all kinds thus heaped a dizzying array of new duties and responsibilities on married women.”

BIOGRAPHY
( TW: teenage pregnancy, infidelity, drug use, overdose )
By all accounts— by every metric Jack could use to quantify the fact as an adult— Simon Vohra and Claire Sharma had never been ready to be parents. Was anyone ever really ready to be a parent? It was a question Jack had asked himself constantly as he’d gotten older but it had never been his place to judge-- his parents hadn’t done him any favors but for at least some time they had tried to be present and helpful and Jack could never fault them for that. Blackpool-- a seaside resort town on the English coast-- had been home to Simon and Claire as long as they both could remember but they had remained strangers to one another until they met through a mutual friend when they were seventeen years old. The attraction had been immediate-- a spark neither of them were prepared to deal with but allowed to catch and ignite the moment they met, an encounter that resulted in an unplanned pregnancy and a great deal of responsibility neither of them wanted staring them both in the face. Simon dropped out of sixth form promptly to begin working in earnest and provide for the family he certainly hadn’t expected to have but was willing to work to support nonetheless; Claire, after informing her parents, remained in school at her parents’ request though their relationship became strained from that moment on.
When John was born the couple was delighted— Simon took to being a father rather quickly and seemed to enjoy it while Claire was an absent mother at best in spite of Simon’s many attempts to help her feel more present in their son’s life. It was no secret to anyone at all that Claire was cheating on Simon with what was rumored to be every eligible man in Blackpool and though Simon was heartbroken by the rumors and the confidence he felt in their truthfulness-- he never brought the issue up with Claire-- choosing instead to look after their son and try to hold their family together as best he could. It was yet another accident that marked Claire’s second pregnancy when John was five and though Simon wasn’t even reasonably confident that the child was his he again prepared himself to be a father as best he possibly could. Jack was born on a cool October morning and from the moment he uttered his first cry his father was devoted to him and for the first time his mother dove headfirst into caring for both of her sons with a zeal she’d never demonstrated prior.
Though they were on the poorer side they were happy for a great deal of Jack’s initial childhood and seemed to be primed to be that much happier when Claire found out she was pregnant with her third child when Jack was seven. It was yet more of the same in the Vohra-Sharma household until Tommy was around two and Claire eloped with a family friend and informed Simon plainly that she couldn’t handle being stuck in a dead end town with a dead end life and three children she hadn’t wanted in the first place. Simon was devastated but for the first year or two following Claire’s departure he managed to hold both himself and the family together rather well. Jack-- already a brilliant boy intellectually and a spot of sunshine in the world as far as his father was concerned-- began to help around the house to take some of the worry away from his father even going so far as to look after his baby brother whenever he wasn’t at school. John, who was sixteen, more or less stopped coming home and though Jack was aware he was essentially living with a friend’s across town he considered his absence in his life nothing short of abandonment and even as an adult holds a deep resentment towards him for that fact.
Things for the Vohra family began to unravel slowly— Simon began to spend what money he earned from work on cocaine and other drugs-- he was still present and still loving but Jack found himself more and more becoming a parent to Tommy rather than a brother. When he was twelve Simon’s habits escalated to a rather expensive heroin addiction that Jack could hardly process, let alone deal with and though he tried his best to raise his brother and himself it was difficult for a child to raise another child. He was nearly thirteen when he came home from school with Tommy in tow to find their father had overdosed in their kitchen— an overdose that would, even after his frantic call to emergency services, eventually lead to his death. Without extended family to look after them and with John’s refusal to take on the responsibility of raising siblings he hardly knew both Jack and Tommy became wards of court.
Jack-- already with a reputation for being a brilliant student-- threw himself into his studies with that much more zeal as he and Tommy adjusted to life with their first foster family; his IQ was tested and he was placed into progressively more advanced courses until he was taking university classes part-time by the time he entered year eleven. His foster parents supported him fully and there was frequent talk of adoption for both himself and Tommy— who was easily the most important person in his life bar none. He was very nearly eighteen by the time the adoption paperwork was processed and both he and Tommy were officially members of the Eaton family. Though he was reluctant to leave Tommy behind when he’d been his primary caregiver for so many years prior to being placed with their adoptive family it was the encouragement of his adoptive parents Mark and Rose that finally reassured Jack to the point of feeling comfortable applying to both traditional universities and culinary school programs far afield of Blackpool. Higher education was a world of splendor for Jack who had always been so fiercely curious and sharply intelligent-- he finished his undergraduate degree six months earlier than most of his graduating class before moving on to study at a culinary institute in France with the hope of moving on to several Michelin star restaurants that had offered him positions before he’d even finished his schooling.
Cooking had been a passion of his from the moment he was allowed to help his father cook dinner for the first time as a child-- he’d been fascinated with food and the way it brought people together considering his childhood wasn’t always the most stable thing. It wasn’t until he began to work in earnest that he realized that becoming a prominent chef and owning a restaurant of his own was his dream more than any one thing he could put his finger on. After years of intense work Jack walked away from the restaurant in France he’d been training in at the age of twenty-nine with a new Michelin star for the restaurant under his belt and several offers for work in the United States waiting for him if he chose to take them. It was bizarre to put so much distance between himself and both of the countries he had come to consider home in their own ways but with the support of his family at his back it was a choice Jack made easily and he moved from Paris to Boston with a duffel bag’s worth of possessions, a job offer and a dream.
Boston was a world away from Paris in more ways than Jack could readily count but he’d always been an outgoing person and making friends and building relationships came easily to him— his brigade loved him and he spent most of his time outside of work with fellow chefs under his supervision or who worked in local restaurants that were actively competing with his own. It was during one of their many outings together that Jack found himself-- with some amount of embarrassment-- lingering at a strip club with some of his friends. It wasn’t a scene he frequented and it wasn’t a surprise to anyone when he retreated to the bathroom after an hour or so in the club only to find a woman in distress sharing the space with him just when he’d managed to calm down. Meeting Avery was a turning point in his life if only because he’d never allowed himself to slow down for even a moment in the pursuit of the things he’d hoped to earn— but when they began dating he started to work less and focus more and more on opening his own restaurant so he could spend more and more time with Avery and eventually with both Avery and Mars.
Their move to Providence Peak has allowed him to do just that— though he’s working in the capacity of a private chef more often than not as he tries to get the foundations planned for opening a restaurant of his own but he’s married to a woman he loves more than anything else with a step-son he’d do anything for and far happier than he ever imagined one man could possibly be. His little brother’s recent arrival in town has only deepened Jack’s happiness and as far as he’s concerned Providence Peak is something of a paradise made real.

By all accounts— by every metric Percy could use to quantify the fact as an adult— Simon Garrick and Claire Ashby had never been ready to be parents. Was anyone ever really ready to be a parent? It was a question Percy had asked herself constantly as she’d gotten older but it had never been her place to judge– her parents hadn’t done her any favors but for at least some time they had tried to be present and helpful and Percy could never fault them for that. It was yet more of the same in the Garrick-Ashby household until Tommy was around two and Claire eloped with a family friend and informed Simon plainly that she couldn’t handle being stuck in a dead end town with a dead end life and three children she hadn’t wanted in the first place. Simon was devastated but for the first year or two following Claire’s departure he managed to hold both himself and the family together rather well. Things for the Garrick family began to unravel slowly— Simon began to spend what money he earned from work on cocaine and other drugs– he was still present and still loving but Percy found herself more and more becoming a parent to Tommy rather than a sister. When she was twelve Simon’s habits escalated to a rather expensive heroin addiction that Percy could hardly process, let alone deal with and though she tried her best to raise her brother and herself it was difficult for a child to raise another child. She was nearly thirteen when she came home from school with Tommy in tow to find their father had overdosed in their kitchen— an overdose that would, even after her frantic call to emergency services, eventually lead to his death. Without extended family to look after them and with Jack’s refusal to take on the responsibility of raising siblings he hardly knew both Percy and Tommy became wards of court.

Though she was reluctant to leave Tommy behind when she’d been his primary caregiver for so many years prior to being placed with their adoptive family it was the encouragement of her adoptive parents Mark and Rose that finally reassured Percy to the point of feeling comfortable applying to universities about as far away from Blackpool as she could get without leaving the country. Higher education was a world of splendor for Percy who had always been so fiercely curious and sharply intelligent– she finished her undergraduate degree six months earlier than most of his graduating class before moving on to study further.
Animals and zoology had been passions of hers from the moment she visited a zoo for the first time on an outing with her parents when she was still very young. She was fascinated by animals of all sorts and wanted to know everything about how to care for them and preserve the environments they called home. It seemed the logical choice for her to follow her chosen course of study as far as she could-- and when she was twenty-six she walked away from Cambridge with a degree in zoology to her name and several research positions made available to her over the whole of continental Europe and beyond if she chose to take them. Traveling across Europe to do the thing she loved more than anything in the world was a gift Percy had never had any inkling of taking advantage of and she eventually began to give guest lectures at universities in major cities near her work sites as well as develop a passion for photography she found delightful to explore when she was researching in far away countries she’d never imagined even seeing as a child. When her research positions drew closer to their deadlines and the projects she’d been working on were finalized she began to search for another place to call home-- eventually settling on Turtle Bay due largely in part to the fact that Tommy had found his way to the area for college and Percy couldn’t think of anything more delightful than doing work she loved with her little brother at her side-- even if the work is a bit more sporadic than she’d like-- she’s always been able to look on the bright side of things and she doesn’t see that changing.

Hello, I'm a homo-romantic ace whose been having a lot of weird conversations lately about who belongs in the LGBT umbrella. I think anyone who is ace has the space if they want it because it is a little understood sexual orientation that experiences a lot of corrective reactions. But lately people have been arguing to me that only aces with non-hetero rom orientations and/or folk who are non cisgender have access to the space. I was wondering the following things:
2/2 what’s your take on asexuality belonging to the LGBT term, the LGBT community and the LGBT complex (cuz I think it’s gotten more complex as a functioning being)? Does asexuality belong in a tertiary space like BDSM which crosses over with queer (and shares similarities) but is not fully within it? Thanks for sharing about your thesis, every time it pops up on my dash I feel very excited. It’s been awhile since I engaged in queer theory and I am loving your work! No pressure to answer tho!
Okay, so…. this is a very contentious topic, but I have a lot of thoughts on this, especially since I’ve started doing research for my thesis. I’ve read some articles on asexuality and the queer community so… here we go. I’ve put it under the cut, so people can easily scroll past it if they’re not interested.
(I would also like to first say that I will be use the word “queer” here. I know some people are uncomfortable with that because its past use as a slur, however, because it is an actual academic term that is used by everyone writing about these issues, and especially within queer theory, I will be using that word too. I use the word to talk about all non-normative identities/practices related to gender and sexuality, which includes the LGBTQ+ community, but is more extensive than that, including any letters not part of that acronym. Queer is also a (political and academic) practice, not just an identity. This already possibly shows where my answer to your question is going…)
Firstly, I want to say that I understand why some people within the LGBTQ+ community might be uncomfortable about letting asexual people into that community. There is a difficult relationship between asexuality and queer identities. Some people in the field of asexuality studies have begun to write on this (I’ll list them down one or two down below). Within queer politics, historically but also now, there is a heavy focus on sex. Because queer people have struggled against oppression based on their sexual habits, not having sex is generally viewed as conservative or as a form of assimilation. For wlw this is further true because for a long time healthy sexual behaviour (aka having sex at all) was seen as impossible between two women, because both women would be sexually passive. Not having sex is not radical. This is why hetero-romantic aces are often dismissed as being “straight anyway”. Non-normative sexual practices (like cruising) are an important part of the queer community (academic work within queer studies in especially the 1990s and 2000s shows this too, wherein theoretical and political potential is mined from non-normative sex acts, including bare-backing because of its relation to the HIV crisis in the 80s).
It therefore makes sense that queer people (especially gay men and women, but also others) are uncomfortable with asexuality’s focus on not having sex, and as such asexuality is often seen as being “sex negative” instead of “sex positive” and thus bad. At least, politically.
I, however, and other academics, do think asexuality is queer, if you define queer as being non-normative in relation to hetero-normativity). Asexuality is seen as non-normative in our current hyper-sexual society and sex is seen as a vital part of heterosexuality too (you have to reproduce and women are meant to be sexually available to men at all times). Asexual people are discriminated against because they refuse sex, which society sees as natural. While the struggles of asexual people are different from those of gay people, bi and trans people (and other identities) also have their own struggles against which they fight. This does not diminish their struggles.
Acephobia is based on ableist ideas: if you don’t want sex, there must be something wrong with you either mentally or physically, because sex is naturally and everyone should want it and have it (often). Asexuality is often dismissed and not seen as “real”. There must be something that inhibits you from having sex, whether that is physiological, hormonal, or having to do with trauma, or maybe just because you are not “hot enough to get a boyfriend”, which reminds me of how for a long time lesbians were seen as being men-hating ugly women (and feminists). This view leads to asexuality being pathologized (as homosexuality used to be). There have been numerous ways in which low sexual desire or a lack of sexual fantasies has been sees as a disorder in the psychoanalytic tradition. Attempts to “fix” asexual people are made through things like therapy or hormone treatment (or stuff like viagra or other such things), but also through corrective rape, either in a medical contexts under the idea that sexuality needs to be “awakened” within the patient, or in the private sphere at the end of a partner or friend. Research has also shown that people see asexual people as less human, more machine-like. They admit feeling uncomfortable with asexual people, and that they may discriminate against them, such as refusing them rent.
Asexual people have their own political issues to work through, just as any other identity within the LGBTQ+ community. However, each of these issues and more are related to the fight against hetero-normativity. Another example is that asexual people, especially those who are also aromantic, can help critique the way society privileges heterosexual romantic couplehood, especially married heterosexual couples. Asexual and aromantic people often privilege non-romantic and non-sexual relationship, such as friendships or family, allowing us to re-evaluate these other relationships and open up new forms of queer relating, which will also be appealing to other queer people, who often form their own social group or families and whose relationship and friendships are often in some way “queer”.
On top of that, it is important to realise that there is a lot of overlap between asexual people and other queer identities. However, queer asexual people constantly remark on how they do not feel safe or represented by the queer or LGBTQ+ community, even those who “welcome” queer aces, but not hetero-romantic aces. The queer and LGBTQ+ community are heavily sexualized spaced, which makes aces feel unwelcome, but also leaves many non-asexual queer people to complain about the lack of safe spaces for queer people that aren’t about clubbing, such as the lack of queer cafes or library. The queer community (and LGBTQ+ community) is itself deeply entrenched in compulsory sexuality, just like hetero-normative society, making aces feel like they don’t belong to either community.
If an asexual person if gay, or bi, or non-binary, or trans, or queer, or whatever, it is the LGBTQ+ and queer communities that should provide them a safe space and fight for them. Their asexuality informs their experience as homo-romantic or trans or anything else, and cannot be separated from that part of their identity. These are not separate issues. If we want to protect trans kids or gay kids or any other member of the queer/LGBTQ+ community, these communities need to be inclusive of asexuality and provide spaces where these kids are safe and can talk freely about their experiences and the challenges they face. These will undoubtedly also be informed by their asexual identity.
We are stronger politically when we fight together. We fight the same cause. Asexual people do not ask other LGBTQ+ or queer people to not be sexual. They only ask that they are included and that their own issues are being taken seriously.
On top of that, asexuality intersects with a lot of other queer issues. For trans folks, for example, the focus on sex in society and romantic relationships may leave them uncomfortable because of their body dysphoria and may thus run into similar issues as sex-repulsed aces. Stone butch women may find common ground with asexuality too, because of the focus on penetrative sex in society. The hypersexualisation of gay men may find that they experience similar issues as asexual people who feel they are being (hyper)sexualised despite not being sexual. There is a lot of overlap, and these issues need to be addressed. We can help each other and offer new perspectives that will help us fight for the same rights.
On top of that, on a more abstract level, can also be valuable for queer politics in the way that it undermines our current understanding of sexual identity. The way we now think about sexuality was constructed by straight people with the aim of pathologizing and thus actively discriminate against and eliminate perverted sexuality. This started with homosexuality with Freud, and quickly began to expand. If you want to know more about this, Foucault’s History of Sexuality is a good place to start. This allowed for sexual object choice to be used to group specific people together and make them into a specific type or “species”, as Foucault calls it. Our conception of sexuality, then, was constructed to uphold heterosexuality as the norm, making heterosexuality (that is the opposite sex as the sexual object choice) out to be the natural and normal and healthy form of sexuality.
Asexuality undermines this construction. Asexuality not only shows that there are different forms of attraction, which do not need to be connected to each other in a one-on-one relation, but also shows that sexual attraction is not the only or even the most important basis for attraction. Asexuality is not explainable in our current system and forces people to consider their sexual preferences. What do I like in sex? What kind of sex? What kind of sensuality? And with whom? If I like having sex with men, but only being sensual with women, what does that mean? Asexuality asks us what we prefer, putting the focus on preference  rather than something biological or innate that makes us feel desire towards one gender and not the other.
This is not to say that asexuality makes sexual identity into an arbitrary choice. Rather, it shows that you cannot divide people into identity categories based on sexual object choice shows that attempting to do so is just as silly as doing so based on if you like tea or coffee. Or ketchup or mustard. On top of that, it allows for sexuality to be seen as fluid, not that it changes, but that it is not fixed. Maybe you like ketchup for a long time, and then no anymore. Or maybe you are briefly in the mood only for this specific type of mustard but not the others. Focusing on preference allows us to undermine the whole construct on which hetero-normativity is predicated. Making identities such as heterosexual or homosexual or bisexual or pansexual almost meaningless or nonsensical. If we want to do away with hetero-normativity completely, this is a crucial step to take. It allows us to focus on sexuality as a social construct, rather than something that must be biologically explained.
TL;DR: I understand why some LGBTQ+ people are uncomfortable with the idea of bringing asexual into the community. However, I think ultimately we are fightening the same cause despite our own specific issues that we face. We have a similar stake in queer politics and queer academia. Asexuality can offer the queer or LGBTQ+ community a lot, and being inclusive to asexuality is crucial if we want to protect queer kids. As such there is a lot that both communities can offer each other.
This goes for both queer aces and hetero-romantic aces. Hetero-romantic aces also benefit and often have a stake in dismantling hetero-normativity because they are asexual. Hetero-romantic aces also face discrimination under hetero-normativity. Because of this, asexuality at large ought to be included. Excluding hetero-romantic aces from the queer community or LGBTQ+ community shows a misunderstanding of asexuality and its political issues and seems not so much inclusive of asexual issues, but rather inclusive of those issues that relate ONLY to the other part of their identity. For queer aces, however, these two are not separate issues. If you want to be inclusive to queer aces, you have to be inclusive towards asexuality in general.
Asexuality, then, should be fully within the queer community, not be treated as a separate but overlapping thing like BDSM. Asexuality, when taken seriously, will affect all spaces of the queer community for the better, while still allowing for sex-positive politics.

"He didn't know what he was getting himself into. It's hard to know whether he can tell now. Valencia, it's, uh -- another kind of breed."
BIO / RUNDOWN:  ( warning for mentions of death, suicidal intent, and drug abuse )
Kaz grew up a military brat, but in a house full of discipline, he was naturally bound to corrupt the order and rebel against his father's system. For that, he made some immature choices, slipped down a couple of wrong paths, but that didn't happen without him getting back up again. In his mind, to this day, it was petty kid shit, stuff that wasn't worthy of overreacting over, but his father did anyway. When he was 14 years old, he was sent to military school to "clean up his act," and ended up staying there for longer than expected, up until his graduation.
Besides being a man instead of a boy now, he came out more or less the same person, just with a sharper mind and better interests. Of course, he wasn't going to join the corps, just like Dad did, but he wasn't going to burden his life of any disappointments either. He decided to go to college, to take up criminal justice, figuring there's bigger and badder evils in the world that need to be taken down, ideally by a so-called nuisance like himself. Eventually, his Bachelor's Degree led him to the FBI Academy shortly after, where he would meet Camille Thomas ( @empiricst ), who he considered to be the girl of his dreams at the time.
When things took a ride uphill, they were soon destined to crash and burn in the end. After 6 years, Camille and Kaz ( or rather just Camille ) decided to call it quits -- for reasons that could be beyond his control. Off the edge of 29 years old, he was already a well-established agent, working for the FBI's investigative division at the time. Months later after their breakup, the makings of an ongoing RICO investigation would tumble his way, his superiors pitching that his whereabouts is needed right under their scope, undercover, and for how long, exactly? "Indefinitely," they said. "However long it takes." A miserable, heartbroken Kaz, feeling as if he didn't have much to lose anyway, decided against any apprehensions that could prevent him from hopping on board and setting his true identity aside.
This would lead him to a 2 year long stint, in which he would immerse himself into the role of a ruthless gang member. More importantly, a cold-blooded killer -- murdering people without question simply ended up being the way he had to prove himself after all. And while he already "fit the look," as his colleagues had once said, an innate instinct, hidden by the coddle in his self-righteous conscience, was the one thing that truly convinced everyone, including those very colleagues. He became a person he, amid it all, despised, a person his own mother would cower in fear from, that his father would be disappointed in. When the operation was finally coming to a close, he found it perplexing for everyone to just assume he could drop everything, to go back to the way things were, as if "Kaz" hadn't drifted away like a forgetful memory. His hands were already drenched in blood and, when it came time for the clothes to come off, it all stayed.
It was all he could think about it. Still is, to this day, all he can think about. But fresh on the first day officially back, he was quickly unraveling. Ultimately, he became suicidal, erratic, terribly unfit for a job that requires a weapon always at his side. He was a danger to himself first and foremost, but eventually, he became a danger to others too. With a psychologist ready at hand, drugs that were prescribed put him well-off until he slowly spiraled out of control.
By the time 6 months had passed, people feared him, ostracized him, didn't know what to make of him or call him besides the word, "crazy." And perhaps he was. Yet, his superiors, who faked ignorance for as long as they could, didn't cut in until things became absolutely obvious: Kaz was broken. But, weighing in on their options, they decided he was still a good cause -- smart, operative, yearning to adapt. They put him somewhere more modest, where he could do just that. The Behavioral Analysis Unit, where he could sit at a desk and think towards his qualms rather than act on them, away from the action. It almost felt like a punishment, but they reminded him that taking away his badge had been an option too, and for that, he proceeded to remain silent. Compliant instead of complicit.
With this, he calmed, stopped going to the psychologist, but didn't refrain from taking the pills. At this point, he was too reliant on them to keep him sane. And with signs of sanity, the FBI began to level with him once again. They assigned him to Red Ridge for his expertise, but more importantly, his past. Sent to consult the police on Valencia's behalf, the bureau figured he'd succeed in his help. Reasons? Specifically, he's technically "well-acquainted" with the kind of people they're forced to deal with.
FEW FACTS:
Kaz's body is littered with tattoos, some from his undercover days, others prior to that. Unfortunately, the ones that can be seen despite his everyday attire are some from undercover.
Sometime during the stint, he also developed a rapid blinking tick that came in immediately after a blank was shot three feet away from his face. His eyesight stayed for the most part, but tissue of the skin in that area is mostly what weakened. Staring at a computer screen for more than several minutes easily strains his eyes. Along with that, doing so little as looking at somebody can't be held without the habit. He'll lose in a staring contest every single time.
Before Kaz became a profiler, he was more brawn than brains, albeit not necessarily dumb. His specialities formerly consisted of weaponry and hand-to-hand combat, but his reassessment has led him to focus more on his investigative skills, making him smarter and less impulsive about his decisions.
Kaz is trilingual. Born 99% Polish, the language was instilled into him as a kid before he could even begin to learn English. He would later on take up Spanish when he was already in college, deciding he wanted to increase his opportunities as a future lawman. Between that and English, his mother tongue occasionally escapes him today. But he tries his best to maintain it for his mom's sake.
WANTED:
Someone from the PD he gets along with ( in a land full of people that most definitely hate the feds )
People from Valencia that make Kaz want to risk it all ( basically, meaning to go back to that lifestyle )
Anonymous Tip ( someone that feels like they can confide in him and use him as a messenger to the police )
Hook Ups / One Night Stands ( it's highly likely Kaz would accidentally sleep with a member of Valencia )
Drug Dealers / Plugs ( people that could relieve him of his pill popping addiction while he's here )
Enemies ( this man is going to boil some bad blood one way or the other, might as well )

Biography:
When Matilda was born her grandparents had gifted her a beautiful, ornate, silver rattle. It had been decorated with intricate silver flowers embedded with diamonds, a gold snake twisting up the handle with eyes of emeralds which peered at the newborn who looked back, completely perplexed. The long silver handle was far too thin for her tiny hands to grip properly, and the rattle head too heavy for her to lift, let alone shake. Matilda’s mother had quickly ripped it away from her when they found the baby with the rattle end in her mouth, trying to chew on it and covering it in dribble. From that moment on the rattle lived in one of the Nott mansion’s many hallway display cases, out of reach from Matilda for whom it was useless for anyway, and on display.
Matilda always tried to please her parents, she just often found herself confused at what they were expecting from her. Their standards were impossibly high that she often wondered if they were setting her up for failure. As a child they expected perfect manners, her face to always have a polite smile and for her clothes to stay pressed and neat. While Matilda said her please and thank yous, smiled graciously at guests, and made sure to never spill her food down her front ,by the end of the day her hair had always fallen out of its tight braids and her skirt had become wrinkled. While Theodore and Juniper’s friends thought of Matilda as the perfect daughter that they all wished they had, Matilda often saw her mother purse her lips and look scoldingly at Matilda while brushing the creases out of her dresses. She was good enough not to be punished, but not perfect.
During her school days her parents expected Matilda to be top of every class, for her to make the right friends and for her to keep out of trouble. Matilda studied hard in the library, handed in all of her homework on time and achieved Os or Es in nearly every subject she took at O.W.L and N.E.W.T level. Her teachers generally thought favourably of her, complimenting her classwork and praising her work ethic, but with every E on her report card, Matilda was told by her parents she needed to work harder. Good enough to not get a howler, but not perfect.
Matilda was sorted into Slytherin and largely kept her friendship group within her house, the only notable exception being Saoirse Finnigan. Her parents, while not knowing the extent of the girls’ relationship, knew that Saoirse was not the kind of girl Matilda should be friends with. Every time her parents asked if she had stopped spending time with “That Hufflepuff Girl” and insisted she spend more time with her Slytherin classmates  Matilda was reminded her choice of friends was good enough for them not to make a fuss, but not perfect.
Matilda started to get bored of this in her teenage years. She knew she would never be perfect in their eyes and had many restless nights wondering if it was even worth trying anymore. There were times when she considered just telling them to go screw themselves - she’d written out speeches she wanted to yell across the dining hall. She wanted to tell them that they couldn’t control her, she was her own person and she would do whatever the fuck she wanted. These daydreams increased in frequency when she realised she was in love with Saoirse.
It had happened slowly. They’d been friends for a while already when Saoirse had asked her out on a date. It had come as a complete surprise to Matilda who had never bothered to think much about relationships - she was going to marry some handsome Slytherin boy that her parents liked, that had always been the plan. She’d agreed to the date anyway though. The excitement of this small rebellion, a few dates with the Hufflepuff girl, was enough to satiate Matilda’s need to stick it to her parents. Not that they ever knew, of course. Just picturing their faces was enough for Matilda, it would have been far too scary to actually tell them.
A few dates lead to a few more and Matilda was enjoying herself too much to think about how painful it would be when it had to end. But it did have to end. Matilda had always known that, even if she’d neglected to tell Saoirse. It was selfish and wrong, even Matilda knew that. Five years together and she neither had the courage to tell her parents they were together or tell Saoirse it would never work. It was ultimately Saoirse who had to walk away, leaving Matilda alone and heartbroken.
After graduating from Hogwarts and splitting with Saoirse, Matilda found her back living in her parents’ mansion, under their thumb once more. They had this idea that Matilda should become a classical singer. She’d had singing lessons as a child and had shown some talent for it. She’d been in the Hogwarts choir and often had solos but she was not professional material. It was a delusion of Matilda’s mother, who adored the opera, that one day they would sit proudly and watch Matilda in her favourite opera The Magic Flute. Matilda was not under the same delusion as her mother, but she did as she was told and attended auditions. What was the point in protesting? It was the first time her parents had thought she might be good at something.
It was a special kind of humiliation being rejected from every single audition and seeing her mother’s disappointed eyes every single time. When Matilda suggested she might be better suited to something more academic, her mother scoffed and reminded her of the smattering of Es on her report card. Besides, Matilda was of the age that she was expected to marry soon and at that point a full time job was out of the question. Singing might offer some flexibility.
The idea of being wed was too painful for Matilda to think about, her break up with Saoirse still feeling like a fresh wound, but after a couple of years of Matilda dragging her feet her parents chose for her. Raphael Selwyn. Handsome, smart and from good stock. She’d resisted the idea at first, but it was futile. If she wasn’t going to fulfil her parents’ wishes then why had she thrown Saoirse away? It wouldn’t be such a bad life. She’d learn to move on, learn to be happy with Raphael, learn to finally please her parents. At least now she was too busy choosing wedding dresses with her mother to embarrass herself at auditions.
Character Questionnaire
How does your character feel about their family?
Matilda’s relationship with her parents is full of complex emotions and confusion. They always treated her well enough, spoiling her with material things, showering her with love on the very few occasions she managed to reach their impossibly high expectations. She felt she had no reason to complain but their snide remarks and disapproval of even the slightest slip up on Matilda’s behalf upset her deeply. She is constantly trying to please them even though part of her knows she will never fully succeed. It doesn’t stop her trying.
During her teenage years at Hogwarts their relationship was more strained. Matilda had ‘bad influences’ around her (namely That Hufflepuf Girl that her parents disliked so much) and for a period it had made Matilda want to rebel. That’s over now. Back home with them she has become resigned to the fact that she will always live under her parents’ thumb. She has accepted that, and now that she has their relationship has improved, particularly the relationship with Matilda and Juniper, her mother.
In recent years Juniper has become quite unwell and the healers at St. Mungos are not hopeful about her recovery. Still, she has some time left and Matilda plans to make the most of it. Maybe before her mother passes they can fix the strained relationship between them and finally Matilda can earn her approval. All Juniper wants to talk about is wedding dresses.
What does your character value in a friendship?
If Matilda were asked what she values she would say she wanted friends who were kind, polite and considerate of others, just as she tries to be. In reality Matilda is drawn to people who excite her - people who force her to see the world from a new perspective. Deep down Matilda wants to be stolen away from her current life and live forever in an adventure book and this is reflected in the people she admires and wishes were her friends.
How would a stranger who has just met your character describe them?
Matilda is polite, courteous and will laugh at any joke - so long as it’s not in poor taste. She is nice to everyone, regardless of their background. She knows how to keep a mood light and friendly. When most people meet her they find her incredibly dull.
Matilda is unable to delve any deeper than small talk with strangers, keeping shallow conversation about mundane topics that couldn’t possibly offend anyone but they never excite either. It takes some time before Matilda feels comfortable talking about anything more interesting than general chit-chat and by that point most people have written her off as a boring pureblood girl with no thoughts or opinions of her own. This isn’t entirely untrue. While Matilda strays from her parents beliefs regarding magical integration she never voices these opinions and in other areas she just believes what she is told to believe. She is so lost and confused as to who she is and has been so used to hiding it from her parents and the rest of pureblood society that strangers only see the veneer she’s invented to keep her safe from her parents’ judgement.
Para Sample
Cake tasting, dress shopping, seating arrangements, flower choosing, hiring a venue. The list seemed to go on and on and on. They hadn’t even set a date yet! Surely they didn’t need to start thinking about all of this now? It seemed ludicrous to plan for an event that might not even happen… She wasn’t really supposed to think that last bit though.
Matilda sat at the large dining table in the Nott’s mansion, fingers running over different sheets of lace absent-mindedly. She was supposed to be picking her favourite lace, for what she didn’t know.
“Honestly Matilda, you’re going to ruin that lace running your greasy fingers all over it,” Juniper snapped, snatching the lace out of her fingers. “Now which one do you want?”
There was a correct answer, Matilda knew this. Her mother had already decided on a lace and it was her job to guess which one she wanted. She surveyed the selection properly for the first time.
“I like the pale purple, with the birds.”
She appeared to have made the right choice as Juniper pursed her lips and folded it up putting it in the pile with the rest of the materials they’d chosen that day. She only paused to reprimand Matilda. “It’s called lilac. Pale purple, really!”
Matilda didn’t reply, nodding sheepishly. Her mother was in a particularly foul mood today and she knew better than to argue back. There had been a problem with the house elf or something. Matilda had long since checked out of the conversation counting down the hours until she was free to go. First, decisions on silk trimmings had to be made.
After several hours of this, Matilda was finally excused. It was a blessing to have even part of her day left to herself and expected her mother would send her to the music room to practice scales for the rest of the evening. Juniper was tired though, and Matilda could tell she simply didn’t have the energy to listen to Matilda’s warbles and announce when she was flat. It was an awful thing, to be secretly a little bit glad that her mother was unwell because at least she sometimes got the evening to herself but she couldn’t stop the thought passing her mind. She immediately felt guilty.
“Would you like me to run you a bath, mother?” Juniper just shook her head insisting she was just going to sit in the drawing room with Matilda’s father Theodore for a while. Read a nice book.
“Would you like to join us?”
“Thank you, but I might meet Raphael this evening since I have the time.” This was a straight up lie, she was hoping to escape and find something a little more interesting than spending time with her new fiancée. She’d been avoiding talking to, or even thinking about him. Still, the lie gained an approving smile from Juniper and Matilda was free to spend her evening how she wished.
She rushed to put on her winter coat excited to leave her family home and escape from the constant wedding discussions. The cold chill hit her face as soon as the front door opened making her cheeks burn red, wind tossing her hair around. She made it all the way down their gravel path and onto the street before she had to make a decision - left or right? Where was it exactly she wanted to go? Where was she escaping to?
Matilda paused trying to think of anywhere she could go. She could just go sit in the Leaky Cauldron. By herself. It didn’t seem that appealing. Arrive unannounced at a friend’s house perhaps. But would any of them be happy to see her at this time? It seemed rather rude to not send an owl ahead. Quickly all her excitement drained out of her and after a moment of silence Matilda turned on her heel walking back up to the Nott mansion.
“You’re not seeing Raphael?” Theodre asked when Matilda took a seat next to her mother in the drawing room.
“No, he’s busy tonight.”

When Chris recovers from insanity, it takes weeks of UST for Chris and Clarisse to finally kiss and decide that they want to date. The problem is that by the time they kiss (which is maybe just a matter of weeks) people have been trying to decide if they’re already dating, just sleeping together, or not dating at all. And Clarisse really doesn’t like being the center of rumors. She also doesn’t like her strength being challenged or questioned either by some her brothers who see her affection for Chris as a kind of weakness, or by the Hermes cabin who just want to embarrass the two of them.
Chris and Clarisse actually kiss for the first time on the beach while everyone else is at the camp fire. It’s lovely and sweet. Clarisse actually initiates it, because she knows Chris won’t. Her kiss is gentle and tentative, and as soon as he realizes what’s going on, he pulls her in tighter and kisses her much harder. The kiss doesn’t last very long or lead to any other physical stuff, but it definitely cuts the last few weeks of sexual tension.
Clarisse does tell him that she’s not really a PDA kind of person and that she also can’t really be while she’s still trying to maintain control over her cabin. And Chris gets that and understands, and he was never much of a PDA person either.
But of course, their absence at the camp fire didn’t go unnoticed. Travis and Connor find them later and ask what they had been up to, and Clarisse realizes she has three options: 1) lie and say that they were doing some medical thing to help Chris heal. 2) tell the truth about the kiss and the dating, ending the rumor mills. 3) tell an even bigger lie that will only fuel rumors but at least she created the chaos.
She looks at Chris and can tell he has the impulse to do something chaotic, but doesn’t want to implicate her in anything.
So Clarisse just smiles and says “we were having sex on the beach.”
And this just ends up creating small chaos. People are trying to figure out if they’re just sleeping together, if it’s been going on for a long time, if they’re dating, or if Clarisse was just lying. But if she was lying, are they still dating or are they just friends? Chris and Clarisse manage to maintain this for three months. They are never seen holding hands or kissing or doing any couple-y things so no one can figure it out.
This does cause some problems with her brothers’ shitty gender politics, but she puts them in their place pretty quickly.
Silena eventually catches them kissing in some secluded corner of the Big House and charm speaks them into telling her the truth.

ferry lookout
requested: nope
warnings: mentions of drinking, language
pairings: calum hood x reader
type: fluff w an angst scene ; headcanon/list ; 3.4k+ words ; gender neutral
summary: you and college!calum finally thought you had found something with each other. too bad there was a miscommunication. or is it?
a/n: i originally intended for this to be a valentine’s day thing, but it never felt right for it. so i spruced it up, and i think it finally feels decent.
i’ve been off my writing game for a bit, so i’m sorry if it feels different halfway through (this is due to being off me game and also changing the idea completely). hope you like it either way! i think it’s sweet.
it was a kind of restless night, and you and calum were having a drive to a lookout.
everyone had things to do, except cal.
ash had a night at the club
mike and luke were studying for an exam they both had the following day
so, cal texted you and asked if you wanted to hang out.
you and calum exchanged numbers the semester before
you sat together for economics, and contacted each other for homework help usually
since it was during spring semester, you both went your separate ways for summer, and didn’t really contact each other
there were the occasional likes on instagram, and texts of memes about how awful the professor was, but nothing else
pretty much an excuse for you two to still talk
you both thought the other was cute, but you didn’t know how to come forward with it. as, you could see, all you two talked about was class, and memes relating to the class
when classes started again, you got a text from calum asking what you were taking
you didn’t have any of the same classes, as your majors were polar opposites
but, he did wish you a good year, and said if you needed any help with your math course, he’d be glad to help
you two spoke every other day, but nothing huge
the lookout was popular with locals, but you hadn’t ever went up there, or heard of it rather, so calum insisted that was where you two would go.
initially, you were just going to grab some late night snacks and head back to his apartment
but on the way, you passed the lookout.
“where’s that little road go?”
“what do you mean where does it go?”
“uh, like, is there a house up there?”
calum pointed to the lookout sign, “are you talking about that one? with the huge ass sign saying ‘ferry lookout’?”
“so, it leads to a lookout?”
“...have you never been?”
“no..? is it big or something?”
calum gives you a playful side eye, then focuses on the road again, “i’ve been up there so many times i can’t count. i can’t believe you’ve never heard of this place. this calls for a change of plans, we’re going up there.”
so, after grabbing your respective late night favorites, you and calum headed towards the lookout.
on the drive, you took this opportunity to ask calum how long he has lived here
“uhh, like. five years, maybe?” calum answered while turning into the road to the lookout.
“ah, i see. so you’re from australia, right?”
“yup. accent give it away?”
“yeah, i mean i noticed you say your i’s like ‘oi’. like you pronounce your friend michael’s name as ‘moie-kol’. but i noticed on instagram that that’s where you went for summer, and you have sydney as your hometown.”
“oh, yeah. i always go back home for the summer to see my family.”
“wait so you’re out here on your own?”
the car neared the parking spaces for the overlook, and calum parked the car in the middle of the lot before continuing his story, “yup. i, well, me and my friends, moved here when we were younger for our band. i was about seventeen at the time.” calum reached into the 7-eleven bag and popped open his bag of pretzels, “we moved here because our first album went kinda big, at least on social media. so we made the choice to pack up, and see what america had for us. we got here, got too cocky, and it all went to shit. had to go back home for a little, live with my parents, save enough money, and then came back.”
“well?” you had already gotten your snack ready, munching from time to time while calum spoke.
“you want the full story?” he glanced over to you, chuckling a bit after seeing you scrunched up in the passenger seat, eager to hear his story for once.
“hell yeah! i wanna know what happened to this band of yours. pleeeeease?”
he quickly swallowed the pretzel he was chewing, and took a gulp of his slurpee, “okay okay, fine. we’re called bromance, by the way. but after we came back, we were still together, just not so hard. like, instead of us making music for fame, we made it because we wanted to. like we sat back in straya talking about what we needed to do, cause we went from thinking we’d hit it big, to having to ask our parents for money for a plane ticket back home. we already had two year leases on two apartments, and we couldn’t exactly break them, so we worked until we had enough money to cover a few months rent on our own, and then we came back. got more jobs, and stabled ourselves.”
you nodded, and closed your jaw which had been slacking with admiration, “is that why you went to college here too?”
he nodded back to you, “mhm. that’s why i’m twenty-two and in second year classes still - i could only afford to take like three courses per semester, if that.”
you held up a hand and shook your head, tilting it downward while doing so, “no judging here, i’m only here because i won a scholarship. i’d be back in my hometown in the local community college if it wasn’t for it, honestly.”
calum raised an eyebrow, “damn, you got a scholarship?”
“yeah, i wrote an essay about my life struggles, and they gave it to me.” you shrugged, and then realized how ungrateful you sounded, “don’t get me wrong, i’m grateful for it, i just don’t see how i got in with it.”
calum pushed and stretched out his bottom lip in both agreement and confusion before he spoke, “well, it must’ve been good if you got in.”
“eh, whatever. tell me more about you, though. i wanna know about your family, and this little bird named ‘mali’ you have tattooed on you.”
for the next hour or so, you and calum explored each others past, and present. the conversation kind of went dry when it came back to this lookout, as you two pretty much knew everything about it that you needed to.
calum was staring out at the vast lights carrying the city to sleep, and he spoke softly to keep the mood, “i still can’t believe you’ve been here for two years and you haven’t been up here. it’s like, the most romantic spot i know.”
you scoffed, raising your hand and shooing off his last comment, “bold of you to assume anyone has asked me on a date since i got here.”
he scrunched the left side of his lip up while looking over to you, “you’re kidding.”
“well, halfway,” you began, lightly speaking with your hands, “i’ve been asked out, but it’s only to fuck.”
calum turns his head back to the view, “i can see that. i never got that bit; i love going on dates, and hanging out and stuff. i don’t know why it’s been looked at as a joke from 2017 on.”
“right?!” you snap your head to calum, “it’s like, what the fuck ever happened to just chilling with a person for a couple of weeks or something and getting to know them that way instead of playing an over-sexualized game of twenty-one questions?”
calum widened his eyes, pointing his index finger at you while you spoke, “honestly!” you two exchanged feelings about current relationships standards and past relationship complications, until it got kind of serious on calum’s ends: “that’s why i don’t really believe in love. cause like, i always try to be a nice guy, like an actually nice one and not a ‘m’lady’ neckbeard thing, but i always get fucked over. and i try, but it’s like, why even attempt if you know something will never come to you?”
you sighed, nodding along with what he was saying, “i get that. but at the same time, you gotta look at the world around you. there’s what, nine or ten billion people in the world that you haven’t met?”
“yeah, but it’s like, if i were meant to fall in love, shouldn’t i have already found a trace of something real?”
you raised your eyebrows, gaining a stern but gentle tone with him, “calum you can’t base love off of what you got when you were seventeen and in your first real relationship. we were kids, and we’re bound to break ‘love’, no matter what age we are. people fall in love at forty, some at twenty - some with their hometown best friend, some with a person halfway across the world. love isn’t dead because it didn’t happen to you like it did in the movies. wouldn’t you rather have something real as to something scripted?”
and with that, calum mentally took note, and decided maybe he’d give love a chance again.
but, that was roughly four and a half months ago.
it was now the end of april, and you and calum had gotten closer than ever.
after the night drive and you both got home safely, he texted you and said, “Thanks for a fun night. It’s cliche as hell, but I think you’ve opened my eyes a bit. Hope to hang soon.”
of course, you two hung out two days after. and two days after that. and after that, and so on.
it was really cute though
lots of sweet banter
couple of deep conversations at each others apartments at two in the morning
which would turn into sleep overs after you two talked more
comments on instagram that were kinda flirty, but still open-ended
any lovey dovey stuff, really
your notes on calum:
really, really good guy. god tier guy.
very romantic, but not a huge fan of pda
humble
insecure but passes it off as humor and refuses to take a compliment or believe someone might like him
offers you hoodies when it’s upwards of seventy-five degrees inside
has made you several home cooked meals
doesn’t shame you or put you down if you’re having bad mental health days and need space
says your name reeeeaaaalllly giggly if he’s feeling soft
knows stan language and actually made a stan account for his own band to secretly interact with fans because you told him about an au where that happens
he of course didn’t tell you to make a stan account for him so you can recreate said au
brought you back a surfboard key chain with your name on it from his trip to australia for christmas
you’re in love with him
calum’s notes on you:
realistic
pushy in the right ways
honest, but sometimes in a backhanded compliment type of way
fashion forward, has given him a couple of new styles to work with
encourages him to try new things and to fully be himself
plays with his hair in order for him to fall asleep
leads to cuddling because he had his arm around your waist and head on your upper torso
gives him confidence to try out ‘feminine’ things (painted nails, (heart stud) earrings, etc)
up to talk about his problems with him
gets along with his friends, and doesn’t act weird because they went viral a couple of times
also interacts with fans as though you’re a stan account yourself
stays around to help with homework, even if you don’t know a thing about what he’s doing
comfortable silence is brought up here too
he’s in love with you
spring is of course, the season of budding romance. or, at least it is to you.
you know, flowers blooming, warm sunsets and seeing each other in golden hour, an overwhelming sense of acoustic guitar playing in the background; that sort of thing.
so, you know what that means?
you decide to ask calum out on a date.
yeah, you! you know he likes you, what could go wrong?
on a friday evening, you got dressed up, and decided to take calum on a fancy dinner date.
you were ready to go at about six, and gave calum a ring.
“hey (y/n)!”
“hey calum,” you were smiling ear to ear at this point, “whatcha up to?”
“eh, nothing too big. what about you?”
“oh, you’re up to something?”
“umm! kinda but not really?”
your smile drooped, and your tone changed, “oh, alright. cool.”
calum was silent for a second before speaking in a concerned, soft tone, “everything alright?”
you were breathing in through your nose to stop the tears brimming, “yeah, not a problem. i’ll leave you to it. see you.”
what the fuck?!!?!!!!!!!!!!/!?!!!!!!!!!e,me39834,m?!?!?!?
calum? going out????
he wasn’t seeing anyone?E>.dW>QDLWE<
oh my god it was that girl commenting on his pictures that he followed back
he played you
oh my GOD he played you and you LET IT HAPPEN. YOU THOUGHT HE WAS THE ONE FOR YOU AND HE SAT AND SWEET TALKED YOU INTO BELIEVING HE LIKED YOU TOO AND PROBABLY GOT MAD BECAUSE YOU DIDN’T LET HIM HIT IT YET
YOU KNEW WHEN HE SAID HE WASN’T A M’LADY HEADASS THAT HE WAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
coincidentally, your best friend, (y/f/n) called:
“hello?”
“hey! whats up?”
since you and calum were never an official ‘thing’ (even though you told your friends you thought something would happen), you decided to keep it calm, “not a thing, why?”
“wanna come help me get ready? i’m going to the club an-”
“sure, be over in ten.”
(y/f/n) seemed a bit off, but you didn’t really pay attention. you were just trying to get wasted, and throw away the feelings you thought were finally, fine.
this being said, you two jetted to the club.
“hey, (y/n)?” (y/f/n) asked, turning their head to face you.
you turned your head to (y/f/n) while you waited in line to get into the building, “what?”
“is everything, like, good?”
you turned away from them, nodding once, “i’m gonna make it be.”
about an hour and a half after you both got into the club, you received a text from calum.
“You busy?”
left on read
“If u sent something, I never got it”
left on read
“Is everything okay?”
left on read
“Dude what’s going on?”
you rolled your eyes, and angrily slid your phone onto the table in front of you, grabbing what’s left of your second drink and taking a swig. (y/f/n) watched and started to question.
“what’s up?”
you finally broke, “calum.”
(y/f/n) rose an eyebrow, “what about him?”
you sighed, “i finally thought we were gonna be something. i thought he liked me, but right when i got up the courage to ask him out, he told me he had something planned.”
(y/f/n)’s eyes widened, and they started to stutter, “he uh, he said he had something, planned? when? like right now?”
you nodded while you spoke, “yeah,” your hand flew from the crossed position it was in and pointed to your upside down phone, “right before you called, he told me he had something to do.”
“what do you think he’s doing?”
“no clue. he usually tells me he’s going out with his band mates, cause he had to call me one night to help him get one of ‘em home. so he’s always told me to keep me on standby. this time, he seemed really giddy, and like nervous.” you sat quiet for a few seconds, debating on whether or not to stop yourself from tearing up again, “so i’m guessing he found someone and didn’t wanna tell me.”
(y/f/n) picked up their phone halfway through you speaking, probably to look people up to mark out suspected people for later, “i dunno (y/n), i think you’re over thinking a bit.”
you gave (y/f/n) a defeated sigh, shrugging afterwards, “i don’t know. i mean i hope not, but i’m not gonna hold my breath.”
after a few minutes of tense silence, (y/f/n) suggests you two leave, and head back to your apartment to talk.
on the way back, you got to complain about how you thought calum was made for you.
(y/f/n) did keep smiling weirdly. were they the one calum was seeing?
thoughts came to a standstill, though.
why?
calum’s car was in the parking lot.
or at least it looked like it. you didn’t have his tag memorized, obviously.
(y/f/n) parked, and finally turned to you with a not really well hidden smile, “sorry you thought something was up.”
you had your eyebrows furrowed, “what?”
all they said was, “have fun,” and ushered you out of their car.
you, although confused, walked up to the front door and started towards your room.
when you unlocked your door, you heard a soft guitar playing from what sounded like your living room.
you tiptoed into the dimly lit room, and turned the light switch on. there sat calum, a yellow tinted acoustic guitar sat on his thigh as he strummed it, and started to sing the good side by troye sivan.
it was one of those songs you told calum about, and how it reminded you of him.
not in a ‘we broke up and one of us felt worse than the other’ way, but more or less, ‘we’ll meet in the spring’, as you two did come back to each other during that season; ‘traveled the universe twice’, where he came from australia and stayed by fate; ‘i got the good side’, as you found growth and goodness through each other in hard times. so, in a ‘i love you, and the universe wanted us together’ way.
throughout the song, you had found yourself sat in front of calum, your heart beating as though you had just ran a marathon, and it only sped up as the song ended.
you sat with your palms pressed against the insides of your calves, staring at calum as he let a wide smile settle on his face. he spoke while he sat his guitar on the table in front of the couch where you both sat, “sorry about lying.”
you finally found the strength to whisper, “about?”
he had positioned himself closer to you, now looking into your eyes, “being busy. i mean, i was kinda busy, setting this place up and all.”
you took the opportunity to look around for once, seeing that he had picked up a bundle of your favorite flowers, and scattered them around the room. he had a couple of candles lit that you had smelled since you walked in. and you didn’t know if he meant to, but he was wearing the shirt he wore when you two went to the overlook for the first time.
after taking it all in, you turned back to him, “you did this, all, for me?”
he nodded, giggling a little at your surprise, “mhm. you look beautiful, by the way.”
“wait, did you know?”
“know what?”
“that i liked you?”
“wait, you?” he cocked his head to the side, trying to form a sentence.
“yeah? i was going to take you out to dinner tonight, and like when you said you were busy, that’s why i got so distant, cause i you know thought you were entertaining someone and i got jealous-”
you were cut off by calum cupping your cheeks, “i’m so sorry, i didn’t think to word it differently i just thought you were having like, a night or something and got annoyed not because you thought i liked someone else.”
your palms found their way to calum’s cheeks as well, “no it’s nothing now, i just got freaked out and overreacted without giving you a chance. i’m sorry too.” calum had started to rub his thumbs against your cheekbones, and it threw off your thought process a bit.
this was all you wanted. this, is all you wanted, and it’s right here in front of you; rambling, and shaking, and loving.
“please.” you shook out of your realization, and asked him to repeat himself, “kiss me, please. i’ll pay you if need be.”
to say the least, he paid you in rent money when he moved in five months later, in tickets used to meet his and your family, in presents exchanged during holidays, in a down payment on a house, in baby clothes for your four dogs, and obviously, in all the love he had ever given / had for anyone he had ever met: you. his soulmate that he fell in love with due to an unplanned first date.

November 20th-November 26th, 2019 Reader Favorites Archive
The archive for the Reader Favorites chat that occurred from November 20th, 2019 to November 26th, 2019.  The chat focused on the following question:
What main character do you relate to the most?  How relatable does a main character have to be for you to like them?
Capitania do Azar
You know, relatable is simultaneously a very strong and very week word to describe how I see main characters. Sometimes, the MCs I like the most are those I can't relate to in any way, when their actions are so out there and wild that I cannot for the life of me seeing myself doing (regardless of weather I understand their motivations or not). I tend to find secondary characters much more easier to relate to, since they're not so much under the spotlight and get to have personalities that are often less directly connected to the plot, and creators get to have more freedom. That said, on the top of my head, one of my favorite protagonists is Trigger, from Ghost Junk Sickness, https://www.ghostjunksickness.com/, who I cannot, for the life of me, relate to, but whose horrible decisions I find absolutely amusing.
Now, for side characters who I can definitely relate to, I'm gonna go with Aaron from XIIComic, https://xiicomic.com/magic-and-muses/, because that one was love at first sight, eheh(edited)
FeatherNotes
I agree with @Capitania do Azar-- For me, main characters are the ones who would be written with the themes, and the backstory that make them unique enough for a singular experience so i would often find it most difficult to 'fully relate' to them. That said, characters don't have to be very much relatable at all for me to like them , and that most MCs with flaws that are beyond me are who i mainly like bc of their potential complexity! Secondary characters are my go to's, and i relate to them much more quickly! With that said, i def have vibes with Sanna and Dizzy from Startrip http://www.startripcomic.com/cast
Phin (Heirs of the Veil)
I rarely find main characters "relatable", but if they are well-written enough I can like and root for them no matter if I think they are relatable to me personally enough. @Capitania do Azar and @FeatherNotes made really good point as to why this is the case. Anyways a character I still really relate to is Rafael from Superpose (https://superposecomic.com/). Painful gender feelings, people being dismissive of ones gender, the overall feeling of being stuck and not knowing what the future will bring really speaks to me, so reading Superpose I got especially invested. Another character would be Nikita from O Sarilho (http://sarilho.net/en/) and he's very interesting to me because there is a lot about him that feels deeply relatable and familiar but then so many things that are absolutely alienating. I think that makes him an especially alluring character to me.
Cronaj
I agree with the everyone else. I don't really need to relate to a main character to like them. In fact, I just realized on my search through the webcomics I read/enjoy that I don't relate to pretty much ANY of the characters. This might have to do partly with the fact that I read a lot of fantasy, sci-fi, and historical comics, so the issues the characters face are very different than the ones I personally face. That being said, there is one comic where I relate to one of the main characters so much, I actually cried. This is the character Taesoo from the webtoon The Lady and Her Butler. (https://www.lezhin.com/en/comic/ladyandbutler) He is a struggling artist with low self-confidence and the after-effects of a bad relationship with someone who didn't appreciate him. His scars from this situation have remained with him and made it difficult for him to love again. I know this sounds like something straight from a drama, but this legitimately happened to me. (On a side note, I relate to my own characters, but that's because I subconsciously created characters a lot like myself.)
Cap’n Lee (Flowerlark Studios)
Like others have said above me, I don’t really need to relate to a main character to like them. If they’re well written and receive good development, I’ll probably like them on some level. I do tend to gravitate more towards roguish and morally ambiguous characters, and my favourite is usually an outrageous villain. As for my own characters, I put a bit of myself in all of them, but probably none more so than Anor from Children of Shadow. I hadn’t meant to mirror so much of myself in him, but my characters tend to act and grow independently of me. He struggles with depression, PTSD, feelings of isolation, and has a similar queer experience / identity as me. He isn’t me, however, and differs in a lot of ways, too. But I can identify with him probably more than any other character I’ve written.(edited)
Batichi
I feel kinda narcissistic saying so, but the character I do relate to is my own protagonist, mainly because the point of the character was to have one that was more like me I guess. Low energy, unable to feel like they progress, never knowing if points of trauma are growing or hindering being a full person. I never intended a 'full insert' but a lot of their personal journey I feel gets pulled out of my own head since it's where I can pull from. I don't know if that counts or not xD I don't need a character to be relatable for me to be interested in them, but I do need to understand them. 'Defined' feels like too broad of an answer, but when I can be interested in both heart of gold protagonists and drug dealing warlords that's the best I can come up with.
spacerocketbunny
I may not need a character to be relatable to like them but it definitely does make me soft when I can. I think a character I can relate to would be Satinder from Shaderunners http://shaderunners.com/ I think she's a lot more outgoing than me and generally just more jovial and sweet but I relate to her struggle with her relationship with Ivo the most. Pining for someone who doesn't want to settle and just wants to move on bigger and better feels pretty real to me! Other than that I'd say Vic from Inhibit http://www.inhibitcomic.com/ while again I don't relate to his personality or much of his situation, I feel for his struggles SO MUCH. Stuck in that awkward, can't do anything right and just exists in the mediocrity of his situation just gets me all the time.
eli [a winged tale]
I think I relate with main characters who are competent in their own way but FLAWED, and are shown in the story to be facing a struggle. They may not have to make the right decisions or be the most clever, but their reasons are justified (via history, development, relationships). So ultimately it really comes down to the creator’s execution. I’ve been thinking about this question for a while and I think the best example is liking Kushana more than Nausicaa in Miyazaki’s graphic novel (you’ve watched the film, now go read the epic graphic novel!). She is presented as an antihero and a foil to Nausicaa and we see her struggle against how she was raised to the ideal way of dealing with the world presented as a possibility. Edith is also one where you see her being put together on the surface, but hiding deep insecurities inside. Yet she continues to grow, face her fears and maybe make the mistake of being on the wrong ship I jest, but working hard to solve her problems. I find static, good influence characters to be a little bit harder to relate to but if the story is good, I can invest in it.
GGY
Most of my characters stem from small pieces of my personality and experiences. Some of those personalties are exaggerated a bit to drive the plot and explain a few things going on with the characters. I don't have to relate to a character to like them but it is always interesting to see that side of a character that the other characters don't get to see as often or its not apparent. Not that the character is leading a double life or anything but that there are reasons why characters act the way they do and those reasons are either presented in a back story or from that character's perspective of the world. Anyways if I had to bottle it down to one character I think I relate a lot to would be one of my main characters Bridget Killigan of Over 8 Miles mainly because she runs by her own logic of how things go wether or not they are wrong. However this is only because of the result of circumstance, which I can relate to all too well XD(edited)
DanitheCarutor
I don't pay attention to relatability when reading a comic? Like I have no idea what characters I can relation to outside of my own since mine were sorta made to vent my experiences and issues. It's like gender and sexuality, as important as those details can be, I don't actually notice those things unless they're blatantly pointed out. Given that, not a whole lot of people can relate to me personally (I'm a weird person with weird opinions and views), so relatability in characters isn't totally possible and isn't important. Sometimes they can relate in life experiences, or a mood, but that's about it. Character(s) who are fleshed out, growing, and/or who are interesting is what matters most. So I guess I'm kinda parroting what other people have already said.
AntiBunny
Relatable? That's a bit of a tough one. I can care about a character without relating to them. In fact to answer last week's question, having characters I can care about is probably the most important thing to hook me into a webcomic. But relating to a character is different than caring about them. I would at one time say Riff and Torg from Sluggy Freelance, a couple of irresponsible guys getting into hijinks, but I've changed as a person over the years.
I suppose the most relatable character, might be Rhea from Slightly Damned. I say that because she's the one who has to be the responsible one now. She's the oldest of the 3 main characters, but still basically a kid herself. She has to protect and guide these two oddball teenagers, even though she's not even sure of her own place in the world.
I guess as you get older, people start looking to you as a protector, and as a guide, even though you still very much feel like a child wearing an adult suit. So Rhea is someone I can relate to in that regard. She's from http://sdamned.com/

Sometimes I find I relate to elements of a character - Like when they comment or express an opinion on something - But having a character resonate with me isn't something that really happens often. I can't remember the last time it did. For me to like a character though, they just have to not be a shitty person. Flaws are fine - Flaws are great - But if they are just a horrible person or a flat bleh character then I lose interest very quickly.

One character I relate to immensely off the top of my head is Shy from Radio Silence http://www.radiosilencecomic.com/ There have been a lot of moments in that comic, especially related to social anxiety, where I have cringed super hard along with Shy because I knew exactly what it was like to feel what he was feeling. It actually makes the comic difficult for me on occasion just cause it brings flashbacks. In terms of the second part, that's a difficult question. I feel like it's super easy to relate to at least small portions of every main character, since people are complex and have a million different sides to them. So, for me at least, I can always find at least a little something I can relate to. But overall, that usually doesn't determine if I like them or not. I'm more concerned about whether I'm invested in their goals and want to see them succeed or suffer for their pursuit of those goals. To me that's what makes a character likeable. So in the end, it's not a question of how much, since I'll always relate in some way. It's just also not important.
