'I had a mother who loved me'
(aka, the Jedi Order is NOT Anakin's family)
This is a topic that I've seen discussed elsewhere and I felt compelled to add my own thoughts. I've seen some takes I vehemently disagree with, especially regarding Shmi and Little Ani in TPM, and Anakin's 'decision' to leave with Qui-Gon. It's crazy how some people will blame little Ani for 'wanting' to be a Jedi, yet apparently Luke in ANH is allowed to want this, even though Luke likewise barely knows anything about what being a Jedi entails, and even though it's much more risky (and, frankly, far more unrealistic) to dream of becoming a Jedi in the Dark Times era?? As if a nine-year-old slave-boy wanting to take part in his new-found freedom by learning to be something he associates with heroism means he somehow 'should have known' he wasn’t going to be a ‘good fit’ for the Order. My argument is that there was nothing wrong with Anakin, and there was in fact no legitimate reason for him or ANYONE ELSE to believe he'd not be good at using the Force to help others (which is what the Jedi are supposed to do), especially when he had literally just done so in the pod-race. The whole reason Qui-Gon noticed Anakin was because of how strong in the Force he already was, even untrained. Qui-Gon has faith in him, it's just the Jedi Council that doubts him. Because, unlike Qui-Gon who perceives Anakin's positive qualities and potential, Yoda and the Jedi Council are afraid of him. Because Anakin is basically an 'unknown' (read: uncontrollable) entity suddenly in their midst.
While the Prequels film-canon stands on its own in this regard, we can also look to the novelizations for even more emphasis on this topic. In the TPM novelization, several things are noteable: first of all, even before Qui-Gon arrives, Anakin has had prophetic dreams about becoming a Jedi. And since Shmi is aware that Ani's dreams and visions do often come to pass, when Qui-Gon appears and offers to take him away to be trained, why wouldn't she think that maybe this was somehow Force (or Fate) ordained? And that therefore it was the right thing to do to let him go? And the second thing, is while it's also clear that Little Ani (like Luke!) has a romanticised view of what being a Jedi might be like, his actual motivation for becoming a Jedi is not simply because he 'selfishly' wants to embark on some fun adventure without his mom. On the contrary, every. single. time. little Ani thinks about the possibility of becoming a Jedi or leaving Tatooine, it's directly in relation to eventually returning to FREE his mother and the rest of the slaves:
He was several things in the course of his dreams. Once he was a Jedi Knight, fighting against things so dark and insubstantial he could not identify them. Once he was a pilot of a star cruiser, taking the ship into hyperspace, spanning whole star systems on his voyage. Once he was a great and feared commander of an army, and he came back to Tatooine with ships and troops at his command to free the planet’s slaves. His mother was waiting for him, smiling, arms outstretched.
and
He gazed skyward, his mother's hand resting lightly on his arm, and thought about what it would be like to be out there, flying battle cruisers and fighters, traveling to far worlds and strange places. He didn't care what Wald said, he wouldn't be a slave all his life. Just as he wouldn't always be a boy. He would find a way to leave Tatooine. He would find a way to take his mother with him. His dreams whirled through his head as he watched the stars, a kaleidoscope of bright images. He imagined how it would be. He saw it clearly in his mind, and it made him smile.
Anakin wants to escape slavery and train as a Jedi so he can come back and continue helping his friends and family on Tatooine. So he can return to free the slaves. Little does he know that he won't be allowed to do that... :'(
It's important to note as well that at this point, Anakin *also* has no idea that, as a Jedi, he won't be allowed to get married and have a family. Even though he is already naively imagining himself someday marrying Padme. So he doesn't know that not only will he not be permitted to return for his mother as he'd always hoped, but he will also technically not be allowed to even have a family of his own even when he's old enough to do so.
And what of Shmi's thoughts on Anakin becoming a Jedi? At the start of the AotC novelization, she is trying to be happy with the thought of it, but ONLY because she believes he must be living his best life as a Jedi. She has no idea that he had to go through rejection first before being accepted into the Order. The AotC novelization shows that as Shmi is being held captive and tortured by the Tusken Raiders, she tries to comfort herself by holding onto her imagination of what Anakin's time as Jedi is like:
All those times staring up at the night sky, she had thought of him, had imagined him soaring across the galaxy, rescuing the downtrodden, saving planets from ravaging monsters and evil tyrants. But she had always expected to see [Ani] again, had always expected him to walk onto the moisture farm one day, that impish smile of his, the one that could light up a room, greeting her as if they had never been apart.
Heartbreakingly, as Shmi is being brutalised to death, she clings to the hope that her beloved Ani's life is now better than it was before, and that it was worth saying farewell to him all those years ago, even while simultaneously desperately longing to see him again.
As an aside, it aggravates me to no end that *cough* certain parts of this fandom perpetuate the idea that Shmi is just some blank, wholly selfless entity with no wants or desires of her own. That she's the ‘perfect’ example of a Jedi with no 'attachments' (aka an Old Order Jedi), and that somehow Anakin is a just a 'failure' compared to her. Yes, it could be argued that Shmi is shown to be a better or truer 'Jedi' than most of the other Jedi in the story (aside from Luke in RotJ), but guess what that would mean in that case? (Hint: it has to do with love and family.) Because first and foremost, Shmi is a MOTHER who is trying to do the best for her son, even though a piece of her heart is always missing while he is gone. The AotC novelization shows repeatedly that she tries to assure herself that she did the right thing by letting Ani go, but the human mother side of herself also cries out for him and misses him desperately. She might have let him go in TPM, but in AoTC she wants to see him again. In fact, she believes strongly that she will see him again (because she loves him and he’s her hero because she’s his mom and she trusts he will eventually come back to find her), which is the only thing keeping her holding on until he arrives. How can Shmi be a perfect example of an Old Order Jedi when the motivating factor for even her most selfless actions is her personal FAMILIAL attachment to and unconditional LOVE for Anakin?? Also, how insulting is it to claim that Anakin is a 'failure' in comparison to his 'wonderful, perfect mother', and then proceed to place all the blame on him for being said 'failure'....when he was shown on-screen to be doing just fine in taking after his mother prior to his time in the Jedi Order????
As another poster noted elsewhere, Shmi Skywalker is the only person responsible for the truly good person Anakin Skywalker was.
This is the heart of the entire saga. Anakin's True Self is good because of his mother. Because of how she raised him (to be selfless and to want to help others) and because of the unconditional LOVE she had for him. It was the Jedi Order that failed to provide that for Anakin, and Sidious who manipulated the situation to his advantage.
(And if Shmi was the only person who truly solidified Anakin's inner goodness, then Qui-Gon was the only Jedi who was presented as being equipped to bring out the best in Anakin when Shmi wasn't around. The only one who was prepared to act as an openly warm and compassionate parental figure to Anakin, the only one who could have properly mentored Anakin and helped him navigate both his Force powers as well as the Jedi Code, and the only one who was shown to be willing to stand up to the Council on Anakin's behalf. The tragedy is not that Qui-Gon found Anakin or even that he offered to take him to train in the Force. Rather, the tragedy is that Qui-Gon is slain in the Duel of the Fates, which leaves Anakin without a true protector and advocate in the Order, and allows Sidious an 'in'.)
So the idea that the Jedi Order is Anakin's ‘replacement family' is simply not true—certainly not in the way the story actually pans out. It's telling that, in the original Prequels-era EU, Anakin ran away from the Jedi Temple multiple times. That is NOT the behaviour of a happy child. (It is, however, typical behaviour for children who are struggling in institutionalised care.)
And indeed, the very first paragraph of the AotC novelization opens with Anakin dreaming that he is part of a warm, loving family:
His mind absorbed the scene before him, so quiet and calm and...normal. It was the life he had always wanted, a gathering of family and friends—he knew that they were just that, though the only one he recognized was his dear mother. This was the way it was supposed to be. The warmth and the love, the laughter and the quiet times. This was how he had always dreamed it would be, how he had always prayed it would be. The warm, inviting smiles. The pleasant conversation. The gentle pats on the shoulders. But most of all there was the smile of his beloved mother, so happy now, no more a slave. When she looked at him, he saw all of that and more, saw how proud she was him, how joyful her life had become.
Why would Anakin be dreaming longingly of being part of an openly loving, happy family if he already had that at the Jedi Temple? (Tellingly, he notes that this seems like something normal, as if he's aware that it ought to be commonplace despite the fact that it's currently missing from his own life.)
And later on, when he's visiting Padme's parents' house for dinner, he sees this exact type of scene he's been longing for play out right in front of him, and he wishes that his mother could be there to enjoy it, too:
Anakin took a good helping of several different dishes. The food was all unfamiliar, but the smells told him that he wouldn’t be disappointed. He sat quietly as he ate, listening with half an ear to the chatter all about him. He was thinking of his mom again, of how he wished he could bring her here, a free woman, to live the life she so deserved.
Note that Anakin is thinking about his mother, and putting her first in his mind. He can barely enjoy the meal while he believes his mother could be out there, suffering.
Later on as he and Padme are heading to Tatooine to search for Shmi, they bond over the fact that both their mothers told them the same nursery rhyme ('home again to rest'). It means a lot to Anakin that he can bond with Padme over this similar childhood memory. (No doubt something he would not have had in common with his peers in the Temple, since their only childhood memories would have been within the Jedi Order, rather than in a true home. And certainly not with a mother.)
Finally, we get to the RotS novelization. Yes, THAT one. The one in which we see that Anakin was perfectly willing to walk away from the Order the minute he returned from the war and discovered Padme was pregnant. Willing to walk away to start their FAMILY together. But then his nightmares began, and he reluctantly stayed just a little longer, thinking the Jedi (whom he originally joined with the express intent of wanting to help his loved ones) could offer him some solution to the horror his nightmares were showing him:
If not for his dreams, he’d withdraw from the Order today. Now. ...Let the scandal come; it wouldn’t destroy their lives. Not their real lives. It would destroy only the lives they’d had before each other: those separate years that now meant nothing at all.
To drive the point home, we also have the pivotal scene where Obi-Wan—speaking on the Council's behalf—tries to convince Anakin to spy on the Chancellor. Their exchange says it all:
"He's my friend, Obi-Wan." "I know." "If he asked me to spy on you, do you think I would do it? You know how kind he's been to me. You now how he's looked after me, how he's done everything he could to help me. He's like family." "The Jedi are your family." "No. No, the Jedi are your family. The only one you've ever known. I had a mother who loved me."
Anakin's story breaks my heart because all he wants—all he has ever wanted—is a family. Not to just to 'have' one in a vague sense, but to be PART OF ONE. He wants this, because even when he was slave living an unfree life, at least he had his mother. At least he could feel his mother's love, and could openly demonstrate his love to her in return. For Anakin Skywalker, being a Jedi was never the goal in and of itself. In his mind, it was always primarily a means to save those he loved. To save his family. This is simultaneously the most tragic and the most beautiful thing about his character. It is both his fall AND his redemption.
And those who insist on ignoring Anakin’s deep-seated longing for a family and want to act as though he should just be content with the Jedi Order instead are willfully missing the entire point of his story.

Some Thoughts
I'm rewatching Rebels yet again, and it made me remember all the talk about Anakin's "questionable" training of Ahsoka in Tales of the Jedi (couple with some comments I've seen recently about the Ahsoka show about how it's never address all the wrong things he did, and criticizing that she called him a good master).. and yet, nobody says the same about Kanan, because if you don't remember, Kanan trained Ezra in a similar manner. Just look at this example in Season 1, episode 12.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And that wasn't the only time they trained that way. There was another moment in an earlier episode when they were doing something like that, standing on the Ghost while flying. A bit reckless if you ask me. In fact, Ezra fell and would've died if it wasn't for Kanan that force pulled him back into the ship.
So, it's not like Anakin was the only one to come up with such a training. Even Jaro Tapal did it with Cal Kestis (to a much, much lesser degree, of course). Was Anakin with the most intense training? Sure, absolutely!! But the circumstances required of him to be that intense. The Ghost crew could pick their battles, and usually of a small scale, going against a dozen or 2 of Stormtroopers with awful aim. Anakin and Ahsoka didn't have that luxury. He had to make sure she could handle the heat of hundreds, thousands droids shooting at her in battle (or as it turned out, dozens clones 💔😭)
And Anakin was a good master to Ahsoka. Was he perfect? Not by a long shot. But neither was Obi Wan to Anakin, nor Qui-Gon Jinn to Obi, and on and on (theirs is the disaster lineage after all). Saying that Anakin was a good master to Ahsoka doesn't mean neither that Ahsoka nor us are forgetting all the horrible things, all the atrocities he committed. It means we're seeing Anakin as a complex person, capable to do good and bad things. People in general can be more than just one thing, they can be contradictory in their actions and motivations.
And I think some people are missing the point of what happened in the World Between Worlds. That moment wasn't about Anakin and his actions, it was about AHSOKA, about what she needed to hear to let go of her fear, to work through her trauma. Sure, said trauma is related to his actions but more important was what Ahsoka was going to do, her decision, her actions, her future.
Well, that's all I wanted to say. And since it's out of my chest, I'll return to my rewatch 😆

Trick or treat! (Obikin ;))
From this ask game |
🍬ᴀɴᴅ ʏᴏᴜʀ ᴛʀᴇᴀᴛ ɪs…! 🎃
🕯️Sith Obikin! 🕸 (lightly based off someone to lie in the dark with)
Anakin doesn't mean to take a step backward, to yield ground, but the Sith isn't just strong; he's fast, his red lightsaber whirling and twirling, clashing with Anakin's weapon, sparks flying through the air. His form is somehow familiar to Anakin, throwing him off, because it almost feels like someone he's fought before.
But the only Sith he's ever met is dead, and this is not the same man.
A swipe nearly catches him off-guard. Anakin brings up his saber just in time to prevent himself from rejoining the Force by way of decapitation. He feels the heat of the blade dangerously close to his face, and his arms are not in a good position; the angle is all wrong, and he has no way of parrying the saber away.
He takes another step back; cold panic shoots up his spine when he hits the wall that he could have sworn was further away.
Anakin pants for breath. He's pinned, and they both know it.
Yellow eyes gleam at him. Slants of red and blue light play out over their faces. They're close enough now that Anakin can't inhale a full breath without their chests touching. "What's wrong, darling? You were so mouthy a minute ago."
"Kriff. Off," Anakin enunciates clearly, biting each word out with the defiance of someone who knows they're in a hopeless situation, but won't go down easy. He's alone, because he stupidly begged Qui-Gon to let him take a ship down to the surface of the planet to investigate the abandoned hyperdrive factory for spare parts. Even if somehow Qui-Gon sensed that his padawan was in danger, he couldn't get there in time.
Anakin was on his own.
"Tempting offer," drawls the Sith. A drop of sweat beads down the side of his face.
They've been at it a while, a game of cat and mouse, trading blows between hulking behemoths of machinery, using their surroundings against one another. The Sith no longer looks quite as composed as he did when he dropped in behind Anakin and destroyed his communicator; a lock of tawny-blond hair has fallen loose across his forehead, and Anakin thinks resentfully that it's not fair that he's going to die at the hands of a Sith that looks more like he belongs on a holoscreen soap.
"Could you just kill me? I'm not really interested," Anakin snaps. His arms tremble with the effort to keep blocking.
The Sith tuts. "Ani, Ani; is that any way to treat an old friend?"
Anakin's grip falters. Nobody outside Tattooine other than Qui-Gon has used that name, and Qui-Gon had stopped years ago. How does this bastard know about his childhood nickname?
The moment of weakness costs him. A flick of the wrist, and the Sith wrenches the lightsaber out of Anakin's grasp, sending it skittering across the floor. Anakin's gaze snaps to it, and he shoots a hand out to summon it back to the Force when gloved fingers grab his chin and forcibly turn his head back to look at the Sith.
Anakin's pulse is roaring in his ears, and all he's thinking about is that none of this makes sense. "Who are you? You're sure as hell not my friend."
He gathers saliva in his mouth, intending to spit in the man's face.
He doesn't get a chance before the Sith's mouth is hot and heavy on his, swallowing Anakin's gasp, with his tongue pushing greedily into Anakin's mouth without fear of being bitten. The harsh grip on the hinge of Anakin's jaw and the threat of the lightsaber nearly singeing his braid off should be what stops him from doing so.
Not the overwhelming sensation of being sucked into dark, cool waters after a lifetime of burning under the sun.

Disaster Lineage Appreciation Gift Exchange
Fanfics:
A shower a day keeps the self-loathing spirit away by egeria - Obi-Wan gets hurt on a mission and Anakin can't mentally handle it. Snuggles ensue.
A Talk Under the Veil of the Night by StarxRox - Fives was executed in front of his eyes. Anakin can't forget what happened. He has nightmares. He hopes that they are just nightmares. But they aren't. Also Obi-Wan is the inconspicuous casual disaster child everybody believes is perfect.
Acch-To Soul, Korriban Body by Sinvulkt (Wakare) - The hound - for it had no name but hound, beast, mutant - collapsed in the dark alley, its small paws folding underneath it. Its chest felt heavy, and its breath came ragged, pained. Blood sang loudly to its ears, as did the loud men that were after it. Its muzzle was still wet from the time they tried to drown it.
Acolyte by Courtesy Trefflin - The mission to Ringo Vinda spirals downward when Tup tries to kill Luminara and Ahsoka confronts, and is injured by, Dooku's unknown assassin, called the Acolyte. There is a conspiracy involving the clones, and Anakin will do anything to uncover it when it means protecting the only people he has had left since Obi-Wan's death many months ago. (Winter Soldier AU)
Crisis of Faith by Courtesy Trefflin (Tirana Sorki) - Qui-Gon's loss isn't the only thing Obi-Wan struggles with after the battle of Naboo. The entire Order worships him as the Sith killer now, but it means having standards he doesn't know he can reach. He can't forget his master. He used the Dark Side. And he has the Chosen One to train, a padawan who is nothing like what Jedi ought to be.
Do Not Stand at My Grave by ReadingBlueWolf - After saving Naboo, Obi-Wan, and Anakin are kidnapped in broad daylight by Dooku. Frustrated by the Council's lack of response (and the old coot insisting on being called "buir"), Obi-Wan pens a few letters to Qui-Gon about the situation.
Flight Path by Courtesy Trefflin (Amina Gila) - Sidious never let him fly, preferring to keep him chained, and even though Anakin was trapped as a dragon for decades, losing his humanity and memories for a time, he has not lost his love for flying. It’s taken months for him to recover, and now that he and his family are taking a trip to Alderaan, he has the perfect opportunity to test his wings again.
Freefall by InsertSthMeaningful - Rey’s Jedi training on Ahch-To entails many things, like swimming, running, lightsaber duelling – and scaling high cliffs. One day, however she falls, and Master Luke doesn’t catch her. Instead, the Force does.
I dream of water by IceyGemini - For a long time, Luke's dreams nightmares were about heat and fire. This one was different...
Mashaw Bros, Sunset Circus by DragonflyonBreak - Come to the circus and witness what you've never seen before.
Multiples - Leia in ANH by Courtesy Trefflin - On the bridge of the Death Star, moments before Alderaan's destruction, Darth Vader is caught off-guard when a shift in the Force causes four more versions of Leia Organa to appear. Leia, who is... his daughter, apparently, the daughter he never knew he had. And Vader will do anything for his family.
Multiples - Luke in TESB by Courtesy Trefflin (Tirana Sorki) - For months now, Vader has waited for the day when he can tell Luke that he's his father. If Luke will join him, they can make the galaxy a better place. That day has finally arrived, except moments before Vader can reveal the truth, the Force suddenly, and unexpectedly, drops four other versions of Luke in front of him as well.
Multiples - Obi-Wan in ROTS by Courtesy Trefflin - Anakin and Obi-Wan have just landed aboard the Invisible Hand to rescue Chancellor Palpatine when suddenly, four other versions of Obi-Wan appear with them. One Obi-Wan is hard enough sometimes, but five? That is a whole other story. It doesn't help that they're not terribly fond of each other... or that the eldest are hiding things about the future.
Of Lineages and Hope by MiaSirtnev - Obi-Wan Kenobi never had a daughter but did have a very special Grandpadawan in Ahsoka Tano. And in matters large and small, they will always be there for each other. Always.
Ready to Respond (Do Not React) by Kefalion - After the events on Cloud City, Luke has been working on his ability to meditate. In a dream, he reaches the right frame of mind and he speaks with Yoda who shares some wisdom.
Relief by hayam - In retrospect, Dooku probably should have gone to the healers the first time he felt that sore tickle in his throat. Or that slight bit of nausea. It would have saved a lot of trouble..
Skywalker Snared by Writer_Patriot - Verifying Dooku's live capture didn't go as planned. Anakin blames himself.
Successor by Courtesy Trefflin (Tirana Sorki) - Traveling into Wild Space in search of ancient Jedi Temples and holocrons to learn from, in the hopes of rebuilding the Jedi Order, Rey stumbles onto something else entirely: the ancient world of Mortis, except... it's now inhabited by Force ghosts?
Swimming Lessons by Kittona writes (kittona) - Ahsoka plots to get her master to take a vacation; they're going to go to the beach. Sun, sand, relaxation, and most importantly, swimming. There's only one problem, Anakin didn't tell her he never learned to swim
The Time Where Anakin Became Yoda's New Padawan by StarxRox - Basically just another time travel story.
With Me As I Go by Courtesy Trefflin - When Qui-Gon died, becoming one with the Force, he could only watch. Watch as everyone in the lineage mourned him, and as the galaxy fell. But he is not about to let his master die. Or, the five times Qui-Gon tried and failed to help his family, and the one time he succeeded.

Drunk {Qui-Gon Jinn x Reader}
Summary: Padawan! Qui-Gon comes home drunk and turns into a super subby boyfriend. All he wants is to be babied by his lovie.
Warnings: f! reader, titty loving, drunken Qui-Gon
Tumblr media
Knock, knock, knock, came at your door at 3 a.m. You stumble out of bed to flick on your bedside lamp and pulled on your robe to answer the door.
You only crack the door open, unsure if the person on the other side was Ani with a nightmare, Yoda with an urgent message or Obi-Wan with a movie and snacks.
"Hiiiiiiiiiiii," it was Qui-Gon. Your 6'4'' boyfriend was slumped against the door frame to be at your level. He smelled of whiskey and looked like he had been through a wind tunnel on the way back with his shirt untucked and hair askew.
"C'mere Qui, are you okay honey," you say as you pull him into your room and help him balance his hulking frame.
"I missed you," he cooed. He struggled to get out of his clothes so he pleaded for your help with his eyes. His big doe eyes.
He was able to manage his jacket on his own, but you needed to help him with his buttoned shirt and the fly of his trousers. Once he is left in just his shorts he pulls you back to your bed and wants to cuddle.
"Wait, hun, you need some water," you saying pulling away from him to make sure he doesn't have a worse hangover than need be tomorrow. You bring the glass to his lips and slowly tip it so he can control his breathing and intake. He finishes the whole glass and shoots you a toothy grin.
"Good boy," you say caressing his cheek and twisting your body to place the glass on your nightstand when you feel two, warm hands encase around your waist.
You twist back and lay down, inviting him to rest on your chest. He gladly obliges by smushing his face to your tits.
"So squishy, and they fit in my hands," he babbled in a fit of giggles as his glossy eyes devoured your cleavage. You can feel his semi growing on your thigh.
He starts attacking you with sloppy, wet kisses. "I'm so lucky to have you. Unngngh, could I suck you titties, please. I need you," he begged as he rutted against you.
"okay, baby, take all that you need," you whisper to him as he pulls at your deepest desires, feeling the pleasure course through your core.
In passionate moments like this Qui-Gon's stamina usually prevails, but in his partially-drunken state he could sense he was going to cum quickly.
"Can I cum, please, you're making me feel so good," he pants out. You could never say no to your sweet baby boy.
"Yes, be good for me, handsome, let me see how much you can make for me," you said, making him confident and sending him right over the edge.
He groans as his cum spurts out in thick, white streams, ruining his shorts and giving him instant releief.
"You did so well, Qui, hmmm," you say rubbing his head as he comes down from his high. He steady his breathing and peals off his shorts to properly cuddle you.
He becomes dead weight as he uses your breasts as pillows and buries his hands between your thighs for warmth. He would be asleep until noon, but for now, you bask in the feeling of nurturing your drunken boyfriend.

Hi!  A lot of this is going to be super unclear, but a lot of it is also going to be up to personal interpretation, but I think there are a few good clues: It seems like it’s difficult for people to see a Force Ghost, but we don’t know if that’s on the part of the living or on the part of the dead person.  My personal feeling is that it’s a bit of both, that seeing a Force Ghost requires training and that being able to be seen requires training, as well as that a familiarity with the person beforehand is incredibly helpful. What I’m thinking of here is the concept of being familiar with someone in the Force is often based on how well you know the person, that I think it was Filoni who said he’s pretty sure that the way it works is, the more you know the person, the more their presence registers in your thoughts.  So, I think Force Ghosts would work the same--because that’s generally who can see a given Force Ghost, the person who knew them really well (and who is able/willing to hear them). For example:  Luke can see the ghosts of Anakin, Yoda, and Obi-Wan, but he can’t see the ghost of Qui-Gon, despite that Lucas could have put an image of Liam Neeson in there, when he changed Anakin’s ghost to Hayden, you know?  Or that Qui-Gon reaches out to Yoda, because Yoda’s probably the one most capable of hearing him, as well as they were really close friends.  It’s not that Dooku and Obi-Wan weren’t close with Dooku, but they’re not as connected to the Force as Yoda is, and Qui-Gon is still learning at that point.  Hence, a mix of living and dead can make this difficult. As for using a Jedi as a spy, I don’t think it would work, because Yoda basically asks that of Qui-Gon in “Voices”:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Show yourself, can you?"     I cannot. My training was incomplete. All energy from the Living Force... from all things that have ever lived, feeds into the Cosmic Force, binding everything and communicating to us through the midi-chlorians. Because of this I can speak to you now.      "See the future, you can?"      I exist where there is no future or past.      "Know you who the Sith Lord is?"      I can only show you a place where the answers will be revealed to you. As Qui-Gon says, he doesn’t really exist in the future or the past, that he can’t tell Yoda who the Sith Lord is, but he also says his training was incomplete.  (Obi-Wan Kenobi later shows him able to appear, but that’s a Disney show, so who knows what Lucas intended.) Obi-Wan also says to Luke that he cannot interfere in the fight between Luke and Vader, which you could theoretically make a case that that’s Obi-Wan’s choice, but given that Qui-Gon also is prohibited from interfering, it strikes me as that the Force Ghosts of Lucas’ canon are genuinely prohibited from interfering. But also Force Ghosts are basically a brand new thing the prequels Jedi developed, Qui-Gon’s training wasn’t complete, Yoda and Obi-Wan had more time while they were living to work on it, but they’re also flying blind here, so they could develop over time. And, let’s be real, if anyone was going to find a way to go, “Nah, I’m gonna do what I want, I’ll totally tell you spy stuff.” it would absolutely, 100% be Anakin Skywalker as a Force Ghost, because I’m sure he found all sorts of ways to break the limitations that even Yoda would be following in his footsteps. But I do think that, as a general rule, no, Force Ghosts can’t tell the Jedi stuff like this, like maybe their experiences in the living world are limited to the people they have connection with, maybe Qui-Gon couldn’t see who Darth Sidious was because he had no connection to Palpatine, he could only talk to/see Yoda and the Force Priestesses because he was familiar with them.  Or maybe Qui-Gon was still trying to figure it out and Obi-Wan & Yoda & Anakin were better at it by the time of ROTJ. You have a lot of wiggle room and, if you go by the sequels, Rey struggled to connect to the ghosts of the Jedi, but when she was near death herself, she was able to call out to them, forming a connection that let them help her--and then, after that, she could maybe see/hear them better. There’s not a lot of precisely how they work, they’re kind of a big mystery, but my main takeaways are: - How much you can interact with them is affected by how well you knew them in life - They’re not always able to tell you what you want to know, but why they can’t tell you, we don’t know, just that they’re not Seeing Stone equivalents imo

I think it’s funny that both the members of the Disaster Lineage and the members of the Shatterpoint Lineage are obligated to die (or at least disappear) for A Cause (TM), but they do it in opposite fashions that absolutely align with their titles.
Like, the Shatterpoint Lineage goes out in a blaze of heartbreaking self-sacrifice: Mace dies trying to rid the galaxy of Palpatine and Depa to give her Padawan time to escape, and then Kanan sacrifices himself to give his family time to fly away, and Ezra makes a whole plan which ends with him being lost in space along with the enemy. But the Disaster Lineage goes out in whatever way is most dramatic: Qui-Gon (the only person to ever actually die from being stabbed with a lightsaber in the stomach) dies just in time to make Obi-Wan train Anakin, Dooku’s death sets the end of Palpatine’s plan in motion, Obi-Wan literally raises his lightsaber to let Vader kill him, Yoda sticks around for YEARS and then dies right before the Empire falls, Anakin turns on Palpatine at the last second, and Ahsoka, dies not once or twice, but THREE times (on Mortis, on Malachor, and on Seatos) and just walks away from it every time.
I mean, just compare the last words of the Shatterpoint Lineage:
Mace: “He’s too dangerous to be left alive!”
Depa: “You must run! Run, Caleb!”
Kanan: “Must be the truth serum talking” (because when he saves them, he literally just does it without saying anything !)
Ezra: “there were several paths in front of me. While this wasn’t the one I wanted to take, it’s what I had to do” (okay, technically not his last line but close enough)
…to the last words of the Disaster Lineage:
Qui-Gon: “He is the chosen one. He will bring balance. Train him.”
Dooku: “You have hate. You have anger. But you don’t use them.”
Obi-Wan: “If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can imagine.”
Yoda: “There is another Skywalker.”
Anakin: “You were right about me. Tell your sister you were right.”
Ahsoka: *is possessed and then told her usefulness has come to an end* “I won’t leave you. Not this time” *falls off a cliff*
(Bonus: Xanatos “I am your biggest failure. Live with that. And live with this.” du Crion)

listen to me: carlando in star wars
okay okay so i am returning to my annual star wars phase and i saw this concept art (the first image you see) for solo by phil szostak and reminded me SO MUCH of carlos that i was struck with an idea.
so i've already been on about how obi-wan reminds me so much of seb and that would mean that charles is anakin BUT this art got me thinking about carlando in star wars and. let me tell you. it's such a concept.
this is what i'm thinking: carlos is a padawan, his master is killed in a qui-gon and obi-wan situation and carlos becomes a jedi knight perhaps earlier than he is really supposed to be. i think it would be interesting to have seb step into a sort of mentor role--not as strict as a master/padawan relationship but still guiding, and maybe they meditate together and are sent on missions together--but either way, carlos is really having to figure things out on his own, improve his skills, navigate life as a knight alone pretty much. he's really suffering from the loss of that training bond and his grief strengthens his tendencies to avoid any sort of attachment at all. like, he's really trying to be this perfect jedi but can't understand why he's struggling with the force or with his saber skills etc., even if to everyone else he's doing really well.
enter lando, who i imagine as a reluctant ambassador or senator or some important republic person's son, but all he really wants to do is fly. like, he's a great pilot. but this means that he keeps going missing, going offworld, and his father or whoever is quite worried about preexisting security threats plus this tendency, and so the council decides that someone should keep an eye on him. they're a bit reluctant about it but carlos isn't really doning anything else--maybe he's recovering from an injury or something like that--so they put him on lando babysitting duty. except as we know they blossom together.
cue carlos's emotional torture about attachments and duty and whatever plus lando's insecurities and rebellious tendencies and then this forbidden but beautiful relationship with each other. but then carlos is sent off on some mission, going undercover somewhere, and lando is so bored without him, but then the council loses contact. carlos is totally missing. even the jedi that were closest to him have no idea where he is (charles and seb and fernando, i imagine). and lando is like fuck it, i'm going, and he abandons coruscant, abandons his duties, and goes after carlos when the council won't.
also i imagine carlos using a reverse grip on dual sabers, ahsoka style. entirely because of how carlos holds his hands already.

Time Waits for No One pt. 3
A Sequal to Time is a social construct.
Summary: What do you do when you time travel 50 years in the past with your Jedi son, accidentally adopt 3 more kids, and become Mand’alor? Din figured stopping a Sith uprising was a good answer. He just has to unite the Mandalorian factions, repair relationships with the Jedi, and stop a galactic civil war. Easy.
Masterlist

If there was one thing Din knew about himself, it was that he was a hands-on, get-it-done-himself kind of person. Not so much because he didn’t trust other people, but because, for the longest time, that was his only option. Now, he had a horde of assistants and a small army of people willing to help him. And Din had to be aware of potentially dangerous situations and decide if it was worth his attendance. It was a delicate balance between maintaining a public presence and his own safety that Din was still mastering. Fortunately, most of his advisors were willing to tell him immediately when something was a bad idea. And some, like Jango, were more than happy to use Din’s children against him.
All that to say, Din wasn’t allowed to go with the Jetii to examine the alley where the Sith had attacked them. Obi-wan and Jango had gone with Tholme and Vos to convince anyone who saw them that they were just friends on an outing. Qui-gon had wanted to go, but two Jetii masters would be too suspicious. Instead, Jango had been volun-told for the excursion (something about exposure therapy?). It seemed his remaining ade had dedicated themselves to distracting Din and Qui-gon. Bo-Katan had insisted that this was the perfect time for Din to teach her how to use a jetpack- Din was of the opinion that she should have an actual teacher, not someone who learned by trial and error but was outvoted. Grogu had decided he wanted to mediate with Qui-gon, and the Jetii was weak to the request of the child.
Din had to admit, it was hard to constantly check his comm for messages from Obi-wan or Jango when he was trying to make sure Bo-Katan didn’t fly into a wall or something. Not that Din should worry too much- Bo-Katan was a natural and was trying to see what the most reckless maneuver she could get away with while also making Satine, who had decided to spectate, wince.
Din hadn’t even realized an hour had passed until Obi-wan and Jango entered the courtyard. Grogu’s eyes shot open, and he screeched joyfully as if it hadn’t been an hour since they had left. Grogu toddled to Obi-wan, and the teenager picked him up without further instruction. Bo-Katan landed, and Din allowed himself a breath of relief. Qui-gon and Din approached them as the girls put away the jetpack before joining them.
“How did it go?” Qui-gon asked.
“Alright,” Obi-wan said. “Master Tholme and Quin went to their rooms to meditate so Quin can get everything straight. They’ll let us know when he’s ready.” Din nodded like he understood perfectly. He supposed having a bunch of impressions shoved into one’s head would be disorientating. “He did say that he felt a dark energy.”
“It was weird,” Jango commented. “Cool, but weird.”
Din was proud of Jango’s progress. Months ago, when they’d first met, Jango would’ve tried to kill the Jetii instead of having to go on a solo trip with three of them.
“He can take as much time as he needs,” Din said. Grogu cooed, and Obi-wan set him down. The child began to chase after a bug that was flying around.
~
It took until latemeal. Din had been hunched over a datapad containing a proposed treaty between the occupants of Kalevala. Satine had taken over the compromise after Din had mentioned Almec’s attitude surrounding the topic. She and Sainn had come to a fair agreement that satisfied both of their clans (with some exceptions, Almec included). Satine had even asked Bo-Katan for her help. Din was proud of his ade for handling the situation so effectively. He made a few notes on the document- his thoughts on potential conflicts certain sections could cause and other ideas- before sending it back for a final review. Din wondered if the Armorer had to do excessive paperwork when leading their covert.
There was a knock on Din’s door, so he slid his helmet on (taking it off when he was alone helped him become more comfortable without it).
“Olarom o’r,” he called, and the door opened. Master Tholme and Vos walked in and bowed. Din gestured for them to take a seat. The padawan looked tired, and Din wanted to tell him to go to bed- surely this could wait for the morning?- but this information could be vital.
“Mand’alor,” Vas said, the most serious Din had seen the teen, “I believe your attacker was the Sith apprentice.”
Din nodded in understanding. Qui-gon had given him a “Sith Crash Course,” which included the fact that the current generation of Sith only had two members- A master and an apprentice. An ineffective system if you asked Din, but the worse organized the dar’jetii were, the better for Din.
“He- well, there was a lot of echos of emotions.” Vos took a deep breath. “I think I was able to weed out what was you and Obi-wan and what was the Sith. Unless you or Obi-wan have a well hidden anger issues.” Vos tried to smile. Din assumed it was a good sign that he was attempting to joke. “He seemed less angry at you two than at himself. There was fear too- it felt like I couldn’t breathe-“ Vos inhaled deeply again and shut his eyes. Tholme rested a hand on his padawan’s shoulder. Vos opened his eyes, looking more centered. Din resisted the urge to call an end to the meeting. Maybe it would be easier on the padawan to only write a report- no need to say everything out loud. Vos continued before Din could suggest it. “He was terrified of failing his Master- who really, really wants you dead. I wrote down everything.”
Din wanted to sigh loudly and slump in his seat. While not a surprise, Din did not want to deal with it. But Vos had put himself through emotional and psychic pain for this information. So Din accepted the datapd and said, “Vor entye, Padawan Vos. Your help has been invaluable.”
Vos bowed his head. Tholme patted his shoulder. “Why don’t you go have latemeal with Padawan Kenobi while I finish with the Mand’alor?” Both jetii looked to Din for this opinion- still weird-and he nodded in agreement. Let the kid rest.
After Vos left the room, Tholme turned to Din. “The report will be shared with the Jedi Council, and I imagine they will want to discuss the situation and further actions.”
Din examined the Master. Obi-wan had said that Tholme had worked on several intelligence missions for the Jedi. Din had worked with similar individuals during his bounty hunting days and was in the habit of trusting their instincts. “In your professional opinion, what should we do?”
Tholme took a moment to consider the question before answering. “We have little information on either the master or apprentice and, as such, must be careful lest we act in a way that gives away what we know. The master wanted you dead, even before you were Mand’alor, which means they were aware of your position and potential for some time. The question is then, knowing the Sith have allied with Death Watch, was Death Watch aware of the attack on you? And, for that matter, how long have they been allied?”
Din considered. Perhaps the spy had been present for longer than Din had assumed. Several people were wary and outright hostile to Din when he first appeared. Any number of them could have reported his relationship with Satine and how more and more Mandalorians had begun to seek his opinion and help. If the spy reported that to Death Watch, who then reported it to the dar’jetii…
“Maybe they made a deal- work together to get rid of any perceived threats to Vizsla becoming Mand’alor,” Din guessed. It made sense. Better to deal with all potential problems instead of just the present one. Otherwise, they tended to come back and bite you in the shebs. Din knew from experience.
“So, they have been allies since you came to Sundari at the lastest.”
“Maybe longer. Mandalorians used to ally with the Sith, yes?” Din asked as he remembered that part of his crash course.
Tholme nodded. “A long time ago, yes.”
“Kyr’tsad are extreme traditionalists. Probably knew that, too. They would be stronger with the help of the dar’jetii.”
“And the Sith knew they would be more powerful with Mandalore on their side,” Tholme finished Din’s thought. “You think this partnership has been going on for some time.”
         Din shrugged. “Makes sense.”
“So the next question is then, how did either group know your whereabouts on the day off? I doubt it is a coincidence that they attacked on a day that you, the duchess, and Ser Fett were outside the palace.” Tholme tilted his head as he stared at Din. Din did not appreciate the jetii’s ability to look like he was staring straight through Din’s beskar and into his soul. It reminded him of Yoda but with less riddles.
“That’s a rhetorical question,” Din guessed dryly.
The Jetii cracked a smile. “You don’t seem surprised.”
         “Neither do you.”
“I had a feeling Master Jinn was not telling me everything when he told me of the allyship. I, of course, understand your hesitance to tell me.”
“And will you tell your council?” Din asked. His initial reluctance was about trusting the new Jetii, but Din knew a warrior when he met one, and Tholme, even with his regal tone, was one.
“I may suggest the possibility,” Tholme answered. “Just as I will suggest you to consider having your own.”
“You want me to catch a spy with a spy?” It sounded like the plot of a low-budget holo-film.
“It would be a dangerous position, so I would not blame you for not wanting to consider it. Normally, I would suggest a Jedi trained for such a thing, but I do not believe that would be a wise decision in this case. But I believe having inside information about your spy and Death Watch’s plans is ideal.”
Din sighed. He had a point. “Because it’s the only lead we have on the Sith.”
Tholme nodded sympathetically. “Unfortunately. Not to say the Jedi won’t be looking into the matter, but to maintain the secrecy needed as well, it may take some time.”
         “Time we may not have.”
         “Indeed.”
“I’ll have to think about who I would trust to do this,” Din said after thinking about it. “No one I know personally would be believable.”
“I agree.” Tholme stood up from his seat. “I am sorry to leave you with such an ask. I will give you time to think about it. Shall we meet again tomorrow before my padawan and I depart for Coruscant?”
         “Leaving so soon?”
“I believe it is best to deliver this report in person,” Tholme explained. “I never trust such sensitive information to the Holonet.”
Din agreed, and the Jedi bowed before exiting, leaving Din to his thoughts.
Most Haat Mando’ade were very vocal about their hatred of Kyr’tsad, especially after they attacked the hospital, which had killed hundreds of citizens, dozens of them being children. So a Haat Mando’ade was out. Could a New Mandalorian be believable? There had been some dissent among the more radical ones, but most had been soothed by Satine’s promises to ensure their beliefs were respected, which Din thought he had done a pretty good job at. Don’t want to fight or handle weapons? Ok, great, but that doesn’t mean others can’t. Maybe Satine would have a good idea about who to ask- though that would mean Din would have to tell her. While Din was confident she could handle it, she was still just a teenager, and Din didn’t like putting that kind of pressure and knowledge on her. Someone from the more traditional clans that followed him would probably work, but Din didn’t know any of them well enough to trust them.
There was the added factor that Din had no idea what clan the spy was pretending to be a part of. If he had an agent in Sundari, he could miss someone in Keldabe, and the same would be true in the other direction. So, should he have two? Would they know about each other? There were too many variables for Din to be comfortable. Sure, he had taken contracts with little information- they often paid better-but he had always done his best to gather his own information. And, if something did go wrong, only he would be majorly affected in the end. His tribe may have suffered a bit, but soon enough, someone would’ve taken his role, and they would move on. Now, he has an entire nation to worry about should he make the wrong move. It made him feel off-put.
Ok, he needed to take small steps for this.
Step 1: he needed help- preferably not from one of his kids. Silis would be a good start; maybe he knew someone trained in this kind of stuff.
Step 2: Figure out logistics- one spy or two? Should they directly contact Din or someone else? Hopefully, Tholme will offer his opinions.
Step 3: Somehow test the candidates because Din was nothing if not a little paranoid
Step 4: Pray and try not to get a stress ulcer.

Just a Memory
Tumblr media
The three of them were running towards the ship; they were about to reach it, and behind them, a man on a speeder was coming after them, accompanied by a flying droid.
"Qui-Gon, wait, I'm tired," announced the boy, struggling to keep up with the other two.
"Anakin, get down/crouch," Qui-Gon yelled at the same time as the speeder passed over him, and he jumped, drawing a lightsaber with which he attacked Qui-Gon. Qui-Gon used his own immediately to start the confrontation.
"Get away," he asked, but at that moment, the droid began to shoot, and Astra pulled out her lightsaber to deflect the shots, protecting Anakin. They were trying to get closer to the ship, and she did the best she could.
"I said go!" she shouted when she saw her jump to the other side.
"When I'm done with the tin can," she complained, jumping again and cutting it in two.
At that moment, the ship took off and flew low, giving the girl and the Jedi time to jump on board. They fell to the floor once inside and were greeted by Anakin and Obi-Wan.
"Who was that?" the older one asked.
"I don't know, but he knows the ways of the Jedi. He probably was looking for the queen."
"Then we need to warn her."
"Let's be patient, Anakin Skywalker. He is Obi-Wan Kenobi."
"Hello," he shook his hand. "Are you a Jedi too? Pleasure to meet you."
"I like him too."
"Qui-Gon, can we go back?" the girl asked.
"Did you forget something?" he asked worried.
"No, but we can probably trade Obi-Wan for Ani's mother," she suggested with a sinister smile.
They embarked on the journey to Coruscant, where the Council would receive them. Astra went with Jar Jar, R2-D2, and Anakin to a different room where they would sleep, but when the girl saw her friend trembling, she got up and told him she would get a blanket. Shortly after, Padme entered and started watching a hologram.
"There are already too many deaths; we must accede to his wishes. You must contact me."
"Will you continue to deny that you lie, or will you persist with this charade?" she pointed out as she entered, and at that moment, Anakin groaned.
"What's wrong?"
"It's so cold," he pointed out as Astra went to him and tucked him in.
"You come from a hot planet, too hot for my taste, and space is very cold."
"Tell me about it. Naboo is a tropical planet, and Paraddle is a snowy planet," he said with some sadness, still haunted by memories of his home.
"They look sad."
"The queen is distressed, her people are suffering and dying. We need to convince the Senate to intervene. I can't imagine what will happen," he explained, and the boy looked expectantly at the younger one.
"For over four days, I should have been somewhere else with someone I care about. I know Qui-Gon didn't inform her about the delay, and she'll be very upset if she doesn't hear news soon. It goes against the rules, but I love my planet and its people with all my heart."
"Paraddle is a very peaceful planet. How does a Jedi come from a place like that?" she asked curiously.
"I'm not the first, I can assure you. Even our queen was a Jedi."
"Can Jedi rule planets?" the boy inquired, not understanding.
"No, but she loved her people more than anything. She was the only heir, and when the time came, she left the Order forever and chose her people," she looked at Padme with a sly smile. "I don't know if I would have that courage."
"I'm sure you have that and more. Things are about to change, and I know it won't be easy, but I'm glad to have met you. I'll never forget you," she left them in the place.
"Astra," he called her timidly. "I made this for you," he showed her a necklace. "I carved it from a piece of Japor, so we'll always be together, and it will bring you good luck."
"Ani," she put her hand on his cheek and smiled at the gift. "We'll always be together," she assured without saying anything.
The children slept in the ship that day, and in the morning, each went their own way. Anakin went to the pilot's cabin, and the Jedi, the master and his two students, began to train. On that particular day, being on a ship and not having the proper equipment, they would have to meditate and learn to free their minds from all thoughts.
"Do this is impossible."
"Clearing your mind is not devoid of thoughts. It's letting them flow like a river. Don't cling to them; if they come, let them go just as quickly," the elder argued, trying to prevent the younger one from getting frustrated.
"Sir, we're about to arrive."
"Very well, you two, grab your things and get ready," he asked, getting up and taking his lightsaber.
The two of them got ready while half-arguing, as always, but it was rare that they didn't. They descended in the chancellor's ship and got off in order: first the three Force users, followed by Anakin and Jar-Jar. Then the captain and the queen with her handmaidens. When facing the chancellor and the senator, the first six bowed and let the queen pass. The children stayed on the side, and Qui-Gon pulled them towards him.
"It is a joy to see you alive, Your Majesty. The communications blockade greatly concerned us. I eagerly await your report on the situation. Let me introduce you to Supreme Chancellor Valorum."
"You'll go with them," the girl informed her friend. "Padme will take care of you, and then we'll come for you."
"And you?" he asked.
"My place is with Qui-Gon; we have something to do."
Everyone moved forward except the three members of the Order, and when they were about to get on their speeder, Anakin turned to look at them, and Qui-Gon signaled him to go.
"Alright, we have to go to the Council. Astra, for this time, don't jump on the walls."
"Can I use my speeder?"
"When we leave."
"And I hope you have a good excuse for Master Yoda," they walked towards their speeder. "He's been without his lightsaber for a week."
"I can always tell him you stole it," he threatened, getting on.
"You don't argue with Anakin as much."
The return to the Temple was not as Astra expected. She thought it would feel like coming home, but she felt empty, and a deep sorrow pressed on her heart. She unfolded her speeder and got on to move through it to the Council room, where Qui-Gon explained about the Sith they encountered.
"My only conclusion is that the attacker was a Sith Lord," he admitted with a rehearsed calm.
"It's impossible. The Sith have been extinct for over a millennium."
"Well, the one we saw was very much alive," the girl argued.
"I highly doubt the Sith have returned without us knowing," Master Windu pointed out.
"Difficult to see the dark side is," Yoda added.
"We will do everything possible to clarify this mystery and discover the identity of your attacker. May the Force be with you."
The padawan walked towards the door, while the youngling and the master stayed in the center of the room, hoping to report on Anakin's discovery.
"Master Qui-Gon, do you have anything else to tell us?"
"With your permission, Master, Astra can speak later. Could you wait outside?" he asked, and the girl bowed before leaving. "I sensed a disturbance in the Force."
"A disturbance, you say?"
"In a person," he corrected. "A boy has the highest concentration of midi-chlorians I've seen in a life form. It even surpasses Astra's."
"The midi-chlorians in Astra increase exponentially as she grows," Ki-Adi-Mundi pointed out.
"At a gradual rate, however, her last check two weeks ago indicated a level of 15,000 midi-chlorians. Two days ago, they had increased to 18,000. You know my suspicions regarding Astra, and I believe this boy was conceived by the midi-chlorians."
"Are you talking about the prophecy of the one who will bring balance to the Force and an incarnation of the Force itself? First, you believed it was Astra, and now you think it's this boy?"
"I don't intend to assume that..."
"He interrupted. "That's what you're doing, and you've already given your opinion."
"I request a test for the boy."
"You're asking for Jedi training for him."
"Finding him was the will of the Force. There's no doubt about that."
"You can present him to the Council."
"The girl can pass, and her concern can be clarified."
Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan left the room, and Astra entered, walking with her head down out of guilt.
"What do you wish to talk to us about?"
"Excuse me, Master Windu, but I want to speak alone with Master Yoda."
"He decides that."
"The girl wishes to speak with me. Allow it, we can."
With that, all the other Council members left, and she approached Master Yoda, bowing at his feet, murmuring "apology."
"You want to return something to me."
"Yes, Master," she reached for her belt and took out the lightsaber to give it to him. "I swear I didn't steal it. I wanted to follow Master Qui-Gon, and the only way to get to the hangar on time was with my speeder. But when I used the Force to bring it, it brought me his lightsaber instead, and I ran out of time. And if I went, I would need to defend myself."
"From the Force, a design that my lightsaber be with you was. This journey is not finished. When it's over, you'll return it, and you'll get your crystal," he pointed, closing his hand and pressing it to his chest.
The masters entered at that moment, and Astra stood up to position herself in the middle of the room with a firm posture, looking at the others in their places, and spoke.
"I must ask something from all of you."
"You can say your request, then we'll decide" Windu indicated.
"Allow another master to complete this mission, I will go if you wish, and Obi-Wan can too. But relieve Master Qui-Gon" she pleaded, trying not to break down.
"I'm sorry, young Youngling, but your request must be denied. This is a minor threat, there is no reason to relieve him of his duty."
" If it's a minor threat, there's no reason why he can't be relieved."
" The answer is given, now you must leave. The boy's test will begin soon."
At that moment, Astra turned to leave, got on her speeder, and went with Qui-Gon, who was alone since Obi-Wan had gone to the dining hall for something decent after 5 days of eating granola or strange fruits. She thought about where to go for a moment, until she remembered the small garden in the temple where a tree stood, probably the only one on Coruscant. Qui-Gon stood in the place, lost in his thoughts, until the girl took his hand.
"You're afraid" the man asserted.
"Anakin worries me, Qui-Gon" she whispered, standing by his side.
"Astra, not only the boy is on your mind, and you know it" the master reproached "What are you afraid of?"
"Something will happen" she murmured, holding onto the adult's sleeve "The masters don't listen, I'm afraid I'm not strong enough to prevent it, or brave enough to face it."
"Courage is not the absence of fear, Astra" he caressed her head "And being strong does not mean lacking weakness. Courage, true courage, is to fight despite fear, and being strong is more than just defeating any enemy; it is moving forward even when everything is falling apart. But that doesn't mean you have to do it alone. Even if it doesn't seem like it, there will always be someone or something to help you keep going."
"But if something happens to you, I don't know what I'll do" she sobbed, hugging him around the waist "You're my father and my master, promise me you won't abandon me."
"My precious girl " he took her in his arms "Do you know why I named you "Astra"?"
"It wasn't because of the river" she asserted sadly.
"No, it's because that name has three meanings. The first comes from Paraddle's mythology, where it talks about planets and stars born as children from the love of two gods" he placed her near the railing "The second is because in your language, it means justice and goodness, and finally, it speaks of life, and you, you are life, Astra. From Adora and me. You will never be alone as long as we are here" he touched his chest in the area of his heart "You are the bravest girl I know. Many don't accept their own fear, and at your age, they know so little that they can't distinguish it."
"I want to be like you when I grow up."
"Don't try to be like me when what you should do is be yourself. You will be a very wise woman, Astra, even more than me."
Qui-Gon put Astra down, and they decided to go eat. They walked through the temple, or rather, Qui-Gon walked, and Astra used her speeder. Although it was strange for people to see the girl acting calmly, as they preferred to see her jumping on people and running on walls, it wasn't so strange when Master Yaddle joined them. Near the elevator, they met Qui-Gon's old master and chatted for a while before father and daughter continued on their way.
After lunch, they went to the council chamber to prepare everything for Anakin's test. When the girl went out to wait, she ran into the boy who was coming in with Obi-Wan, and they hugged before the older one asked.
"Do they have to test you too, angel?"
"No, my test was 6 years ago when I came here. I had to come here to prepare everything and because I escaped from the temple to go with Qui-Gon."
"I thought you could go on missions now, you fight very well."
"We don't usually go on missions until we are assigned a master" she explained calmly, forgetting that they had to introduce themselves.
"Is the test very difficult?" he asked worried.
"Honestly, I don't remember much about mine, although it's not as terrible as Obi-Wan says" they started talking through their thoughts, as they did at other times, and he instinctively took her hand "He's afraid of everything, but you and I are brave, and if you pass this test, we can become Jedi together."
"I promise I'll pass this test, and then you can teach me everything you know" he intertwined their fingers and smiled before letting her go towards the exit.
"Good luck, Anakin" "May the Force be with you"
When she left, the masters were astonished because they had seen the interaction of the children and could swear that they acted as if they were talking, when in reality they didn't hear anything, and they couldn't see their minds either. The master and the padawan who were not part of the council went out after her to wait, until a droid came to get them, announcing the council's call.
"Ani finished" the girl asserted.
" Well, let's see what happens, and try not to tell them they are fools. Last time you escaped punishment, this time it might not be so easy."

Chut Chut Pateesa, a great day for all of us, why?
Because we are about to reach 500 views on Wattpad! And because tomorrow I will upload all the chapters to Ao3. And I assure you that we will go for more.
For my part, I hope you are doing well and that you had a pleasant weekend. I was supposed to upload this chapter yesterday, but correcting the spelling took longer than I imagined, and there may still be a few errors here and there.
As I always say, give it a lot of love, comment, follow me because that encourages me a lot to keep writing. And without further ado, my young Padawans, beware of the Sith, have an incredible night, and never forget that "Once you go down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny." May the force be with you.

I enjoyed Kenobi too but honestly it was a bit disapointing :(
yeah i get u, tbh i feel like we waited so long for it and had so much expectations that it was a let down bc storywise huh it rly wasn't that good.
But listen, I'm a girl of simple needs. The more sick in the head!Anakin you show me? The happiest girl i am. Like opening the show with Anakin k wording younglings? Dragging Obi-Wan through the fire just to prove a point? Fighting Reva only by using the Force while having casually a hand behind his back the whole time? Stoping a whole ass ship from flying??? Insanity, I tell you.
Now part of me wish it showed more the psychological side like Obi-Wan's guilt and pstd (which we saw but only in the first ep) and his spiritual journey training with Qui-Gon or him trying to help the remaining Jedis. Also why did they barely showed the Empire? I want to see Vader hunting the last Jedis, Tarkin handling imperial business, Vader feeling remorse abt Padme's death and the clones??? How is the Empire running the galaxy? like come on there was so much stuff we could have seen

Thoughts on Jedi Apprentice 10: The Shattered Peace
Tumblr media
Um...watery planet? There's a prince or somebody like that who doesn't want to do his duty? That's literally all that's coming to mind when I look at the cover of this book. Clearly, it didn't leave much of an impression on me ^^' I'm curious to see what's in store for us this time!
Jedi Apprentice #10: The Shattered Peace by Jude Watson
Chapter 2
Okay, things are slowly coming back as I read. Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan are sent to the planet Rutan, which has always had tense relations with the people on their moon, Senali. There was a war in which Senali won their independence from Rutan, and as part of their peace negotiations, the ruler of each world agreed to send their firstborn child, at the age of seven, to be raised by the other ruler until the age of sixteen, when they would be sent back home to take up their responsibilities as the next ruler. The idea was that neither side would attack the other as long as they had their child in their custody. The only hitch is that Leed, the prince of Rutan, doesn't want to go back home now that he's sixteen. So the Jedi have been sent to resolve the issue.
When they land on Rutan, the Jedi are overtaken by a stampeding herd of kudana (which I'm picturing as kind of like horses). Kind of reminiscent of the stampede in Episode I where Qui-Gon saves Jar-Jar Binks. They manage to avoid being trampled or shot by the seeker droids flying around the herd. Then the hunting party that caused the stampede rides up, and they see that it's the royal hunting party, led by King Frane of Rutan. The Rutanians are described as having blue skin and standing a whole meter taller than Qui-Gon, so I'm finding myself imagining them not unlike the Na'vi from Avatar ^^'
Chapter 3
King Frane invites them back to the royal palace for a feast. His mood swings wildly from one emotion to another; one minute, he's furious with the Jedi for ruining his hunt, the next he's congratulating himself for his wisdom in calling up the best of the best to help him, then he's crying over the pain of his son rejecting him, then he's railing against the barbaric Senali for "coercing" Leed to stay with them. He's kind of a fun character, if a little exhausting.
Ultimately, Qui-Gon refuses to relay any threats from King Frane to Meenon, ruler of Senali. He also manages to convince Frane not to imprison Meenon's daughter Yaana in retaliation, at least not until the Jedi can speak to Leed and assess the situation. Frane gives them three days to bring Leed back, and also insists on sending his younger son, Taroon, with them. Taroon...really doesn't seem happy about it, and who can blame him? Frane treats him like he barely even exists, let alone matters at all. Looks like the Jedi have their work cut out for them!
Chapter 5
The Jedi and Taroon land on Senali, where they meet with the ruler Meenon, who tells them that Leed has gone into hiding because he doesn't want to return to Rutan. Meenon will not force Leed to go home or allow anyone to pressure him, but he will allow the Jedi to speak with him. Taroon is furious...to the point of attacking a bush? Okay. He basically throws a tantrum and then insists he's nothing like his father, and Qui-Gon is like, "Riiiiiiight <_<"
They go to meet Ganeed, Meenon's sister, and her extensive family that she introduces right away. They chatter away, sharing ideas about where Leed could have gone, contradicting and arguing with each other the whole time.
"Obi-Wan ... knew he would never be able to keep the names straight. ... He could redraw a tech blueprint that he had only glimpsed for ten seconds or recite a complicated formula he had only heard once, but he was still not very skilled at remembering the names of a crowd of living beings. He counted on Qui-Gon to do that." - Is that supposed to be cute? Because I think it's kinda cute :3
In the end, they leave Ganeed and her family to eat their meal, having gained no certain lead on Leed (dur hur hur, had to do that at least once :B). But, on a hunch, Qui-Gon has them hide behind a bush and wait a few minutes, and then Drenna (Ganeed's youngest daughter, who is closest to Leed in age) hurries off. Qui-Gon suspects that she's going to wherever Leed is.
Chapter 7
They follow Drenna out of town, along a path to the shore. Once she reaches a cove, she suddenly runs out of sight. The others start to follow, but then they realize that she's been leading them into a trap. The tide is coming in swiftly, and already they can't backtrack. The only way out is to swim, or climb the cliff behind them.
"'But I can't swim!' Taroon cried. 'No Rutanian can. Swimming is for primitives.' 'Right now, swimming is for survival,' Qui-Gon said dryly." - You tell him, Qui-Gon! XD
Chapter 8
Someone shows up just in the nick of time, pulling the three of them up to safety. Surprise surprise! It's Leed himself! Leed and Taroon are overjoyed to see each other again, though Taroon is furious with Drenna (Leed assures them she was just trying to protect him, not kill them or anything).
Leed takes them to the little hut he's been living in. When Qui-Gon explains the reason they've come, Leed declares that he has no intention of returning to Rutan. He doesn't want to rule Rutan, because after all this time, he feels more at home on Senali and sees them as his people. (Kinda seems like an obvious flaw in the whole peace plan, but I guess the rulers figured their children would never want to stay on the other world?)
A lot of prejudice and insulting goes on in this conversation. Leed, Taroon, and Drenna are all very angry at the situation, calling the other people's way of life primitive, Leed saying that Frane isn't a good father and Taroon accusing him of turning against his flesh and blood.... It's a mess. A huge family rift and a new outbreak of war seems inevitable.
Chapter 9
But just when all seems hopeless, the next day goes much better. They just take it easy for a day, fishing for food, Drenna teaching Taroon how to swim, taking the leftover food to a clan that has suffered at the hands of raiders. The brothers are able to strengthen their bond a little, and Taroon calms down enough to begin to see what Leed likes so much about Senali. And once it comes out that the Homd-Resa clan have been raiding and plundering, Leed and Drenna have to admit that Senali isn't quite as perfect as they would like to believe. By the end of the day, Leed agrees to go back to Rutan, at least to talk to their father face-to-face about his decision to stay on Senali. And Taroon agrees to stay on Senali in the meantime.
"'I don't understand,' Obi-Wan said. 'Everyone was so angry, and now everything is resolved. Can it really be so easy?'" - Lol, Obi-Wan saw the page number and realized we're only halfway through the book :P
You know, I can really see so far why this book was so forgettable to me. I like the worldbuilding, and it's a compelling problem they have to solve. But the Jedi, especially Obi-Wan, having been taking a much more passive role in the story so far. They're mostly just observing and letting things play out, after nudging and suggesting. Obi-Wan draws a connection between Leed's struggle and what he's faced himself, both with defying Qui-Gon's authority to stay on Melida/Daan, and his upbringing in the Temple, which has become more of a home to him than his own family. But all the same, he's not exactly...doing very much. Maybe that will change in the second half of the book, though.
Chapter 12
Well, guess what? We're finally seeing some action! In the middle of the night, a group of Senali kidnap Leed and take him away on a boat. Qui-Gon barely manages to wake up in time to catch a glimpse of them, but it's too late to go after them. Taroon is furious, saying that Leed and Drenna staged the kidnapping to get Leed out of having to go back to Rutan, and Drenna accuses King Frane of being behind the kidnapping. Qui-Gon manages to smooth things over enough to convince Taroon to go back to Rutan, but when he gives the bad news to Frane and Meenon, they're both ready to go to war over it. Frane gives the Jedi twelve hours to get Leed back safely before he invades Senali.
Drenna tracks the kidnappers by mounds in the sand underwater made by rocshore fish hiding from a boat passing overhead. The Jedi follow her to a small island, where they find the band of Senali sleeping in the trees, leaving Leed tied to a tree. After freeing Leed, they fight their way back to the water and swim to the mainland, then get to their ship to go to Rutan. Drenna comes with them as well.
Best moment in the book so far: Obi-Wan: "So much for thank-yous." Qui-Gon: "[King Frane] is still worried about his son. He hides his fear well." Obi-Wan: "He hides his manners better."
Chapter 13
So...the conversation between Leed and Frane upon their arrival on Rutan goes about as well as you'd expect. Which is to say, abysmally. Leed tries to explain that he doesn't know or love Rutan the way he knows and loves Senali and its people, but Frane blows up at him, unable to understand how his son could turn his back on him like this. He then decides to force Leed into staying by throwing Yaana, Meenon's daughter, into prison until Leed agrees to start his royal training.
At first, it seems like war is inevitable, because neither Leed nor Frane are willing to budge. But the Jedi can't just let Frane hold an innocent ten-year-old girl hostage, and if they break her out, then Frane will no longer have his bargaining chip. So they come up with a plan to sneak into the prison, using the knowledge of the security system Leed gained one time when Frane sent him to prison for a day when he was annoyed with him (pretending it was a learning experience for him XD).
During this whole planning session, I can just feel Obi-Wan's lawful goodness chafing against Qui-Gon's chaotic good way of doing things XD
"'Don't worry, Padawan,' Qui-Gon told him. 'I am beginning to see how this situation can be resolved.' He smiled. 'We just have to break someone out of prison first.' 'That's all?' Obi-Wan said. He returned Qui-Gon's smile. Whenever they got out of rhythm, Qui-Gon managed to get them together again, either with a small joke or a gentle correction." - Awww :3
They get arrested by starting to camp out in a public park and then using the Force to get some reluctant police to arrest them. This may be the funniest encounter with security officers I've ever seen in all of Star Wars, because it was so hard to get them to do their job XD
Chapter 14
I think another reason I didn't care for this book much was that, even when they get arrested and put in a prison cell, there's not a whole lot of peril involved, so it's not as exciting as a lot of the other scrapes they've been in so far. Their plan goes off without a hitch--they sabotage the security sensors, prompting the guards to turn off the system for maintenance, then cut their way out of their cell and break Yaana out. Then, using the Force and Drenna's paralysis darts, they basically just waltz right out of the prison while Leed provides a diversion by yelling at the guards. All in all, they're only in the prison for a matter of minutes from what I can tell.
But it's not quite smooth sailing yet. Droids show up near their transport and blow it up, so they can't return to Senali. After they destroy all the droids, King Frane approaches them. In the end, Leed agrees to do his duty and stay on Rutan, and Yaana will go back to Senali. But, because Frane insists on having a Senali as a bargaining chip against Meenon, Drenna volunteers to stay on Rutan as well. Frane admires her ability with her crossbow, and her level of comfort with his nek attack dogs, so he decides to put her to work in his hunting lodge. Also, Taroon will be sent to Senali in Leed's place. Leed is sad to leave Senali for good, but decides that averting war is more important than his feelings.
"'At first I did not want to tell you that I sympathized with Leed,' Obi-Wan admitted. 'I thought it would remind you of my decision to stay on Melida/Daan and leave the Jedi. I thought it might give you pause about my commitment to you.' 'We have put that matter behind us, Padawan,' Qui-Gon said. 'Do not be afraid to share your feelings with me. I would never hold them against you.'" - They've both come so far! ಥ﹏ಥ
Chapter 16
Just one last wrinkle to deal with. They never figured out who it was that kidnapped Leed, or exactly what their motives were. Qui-Gon is suspicious--the kidnappers painted themselves with clay, and they used breathers to swim and had seeker droids with them. None of those things seem indicative of Senali, but rather Rutanians who are pretending. Following a hunch, Qui-Gon leads the way to Taroon to find out why he hasn't left for Senali quite yet.
When they confront Taroon, the whole plan comes out: Taroon was behind the kidnapping. Angry with his brother for turning his back on their family, and wanting to rule himself, he sent some of his supporters ahead to Senali to cause trouble there and then to kidnap Leed. He was also planning to stage an attack on the nek dogs with some seeker droids he modified to explode. He would make it look like it was Leed's fault. Basically, he's lashing out childishly because he's angry, but unfortunately he has the resources to cause some real damage here.
Once Taroon learns that Drenna is still here, and may even be at the hunting lodge that's about to be hit, Taroon immediately helps them stop the attack. Using Taroon's ship, they hurry to the hunting lodge and fight off the seeker droids. Then King Frane rides up and demands to know what's going on. The whole thing spills out, and Frane is astonished to learn that Taroon has always wanted to rule, even though Frane never treated him half as well as Leed. True to form, Frane's mood swings from uncontrolled rage to astonishment, to bursting with pride and taking credit for raising such an audacious son. Leed and Taroon also forgive each other, and agree that Taroon will lead Rutan while Leed will become an ambassador between Rutan and Senali.
There are also hints that Taroon and Drenna like each other, but I don't think we can fault Obi-Wan for being utterly surprised at this and never having seen it coming like Qui-Gon did. This development was nowhere nearly as well telegraphed as, say, Den and Andra's relationship. I didn't detect an undercurrent of anything else in their bickering until this chapter either.
"'When I think about how I left the Jedi order, the memory is so painful,' Obi-Wan said slowly. 'It's hard not to feel discouraged that I have so much more to learn.' 'It should not be cause for discouragement,' Qui-Gon said gently. 'Life is both learning and relearning. You can confront the same issue over and over, and find a deeper meaning each time. The learning deepens, and that is what nourishes us. You should take comfort in the fact that life will always surprise you. You taught me after Melida/Daan that my own ideas needed to expand. I have my own lessons to learn.'" - What a lovely way to end the book ^_^ Wise words indeed.

All the Wasted Time Ch. 7
An Obidala GFFA AU slow-burn romance ❤️
CW: age gap, food, bed-sharing, hurt/comfort, grief, death of a loved one, caretaking, handkerchief use, pining, crying
Summary: Padme helps Obi-Wan through a deep tragedy.
Also on AO3!
In the weeks following Padme’s recovery, she and Obi-Wan continued seeing each other socially—tea at each others’ apartments, walks in the park, browsing hole-in-the-wall libraries.
And Padme was fine with this, totally fine with her pathetically pining after him while just being friends, because he was being nice to her when she got hurt, and they’re still hanging out because they’re friends, nothing more.
She was absolutely fine with this.
Except.
All she wanted to do was tell him how she felt, how much she loved him. But she knew she would scare him off. He was barely ready to acknowledge he deserved any kind of good in the world—even though he’s one of the best people she knew. How could he possibly manage a friend telling him she loved him?
She was pretty sure he would combust.
But then again, if she didn’t tell him how she felt soon, she would combust. Especially since she was convinced she was falling more and more in love with him every time they met.
So, who will break first?
##
Padme got her answer sooner than she wanted.
A few days after their most recent outing—breakfast at Dex’s Diner—Padme was working in her office when her desk comm rang.
Without a second thought, Padme answered. “Senator Amidala.”
“Hi Padme,” Quinlan sighed, sounding distant and muted.
She frowned. Why is Quinlan calling me? “Quinlan, hi. What can I do for you?”
He swallowed, as if he were calming himself. “Qui-Gon passed away this morning.”
“What?” Padme gasped, her heart sinking. “I’m so sorry.”
“Thanks,” he choked, clearing his throat. “I actually called to ask you a favor. For Obi-Wan.”
She immediately started packing her desk. “What is it?”
“Will you go with him to Stewjon? For the mourning period?” he asked. “Bail is needed in the Senate, Mace has to stay for the Council, I’m stepping in for Obi-Wan on his mission with Anakin, Ahsoka, and Cody—”
“Of course I will,” she cut him off. “Of course. I can fly out within the hour.”
Quinlan breathed out a sigh of relief. “He’s on Chandrila.”
“I should be there in about three standard hours.”
“I’ll let him know,” he confirmed. “Padme?”
“Yes?”
“Thank you.”
She furrowed her brow. “You don’t have to thank me.”
“It means a lot. You going with him. He’ll never admit it, but he’ll need someone during the mourning period. He and Qui-Gon were very close.”
She swallowed the lump down her throat. “I’ll take care of him, Quinlan.”
“I know you will.”
##
Two and a half standard hours later, Padme landed her shuttle on a nondescript docking bay in Chandrila. As soon as the engines shut off, Padme darted off the ship, her eyes scanning the bay for Obi-Wan.
She spotted him standing with Anakin, Cody, and Ahsoka. To the naked eye, he appeared to be as unruffled as ever. But to Padme, the slump of his shoulders and dark circles under his eyes told a different tale.
He seemed smaller somehow, like he carried the weight of the world on his shoulders.
Like he would crumble under the weight of his grief.
She made a beeline towards him.
“Obi-Wan,” she breathed, pulling him into a firm hug. He sank against her embrace, wrapping his arms around her and pulling her close.
“Hello, Padme,” he murmured into her neck before pulling away.
“How are you?” she cooed.
“As well as can be expected,” he reassured her, giving her a smile that didn’t quite reach his eyes.
Cody placed a hand on his shoulder. “It’s alright, sir.” He turned to Padme. “Thank you, Senator.”
“Yeah, thank you, Padme.” Anakin gave her a meaningful look, stepping closer. “Having you there will be good for him.”
Padme swallowed back her tears. “I’ll do my best, Ani.”
He gave her a crooked grin. “Trust me, just being there is enough.”
She turned to Obi-Wan. “Ready to go?”
He nodded. “As I’ll ever be.”
##
Padme set the course for Stewjon and fiddled with the controls, Obi-Wan beside her. Normally for a flight of this length, she’d set the ship on autopilot and read a holonovel or work on one of her many pitiful crochet projects, but she sensed he wanted the company and she wasn’t about to abandon him.
“Obi-Wan?” she asked about halfway through the trip.
“Hmm?” He looked lost in thought, but he turned towards her, open to some conversation.
“Why are we going to Stewjon? Was Qui-Gon from there?”
Obi-Wan smiled softly. “No, he doesn’t know—rather, he never knew—his home planet. By the time the rule on attachments was lifted, he didn’t have any real connection to his home world. So, my family adopted him, in a way.”
“They did? That’s lovely.” Padme smiled.
“They were grateful to him for training me and caring for me as if I was his own . . .” Obi-Wan’s voice trailed off.
Padme covered his hand with hers. “You were his own, Obi-Wan. He loved you so much.”
“I know,” he whispered. “I felt it in the Living Force, every day. It was so strong . . .”
“I could feel it too. We all could, even without the Force.”
“Padme, did he know? How much I loved him?”
“Of course he did,” Padme replied, squeezing his hand. “Of course he did.”
##
They landed on Stewjon the next afternoon.
As they stepped on the docking bay, Padme gasped. “Oh Obi-Wan. It’s so beautiful here. So green.”
“It’s quite green on Naboo, too.” His eyes sparkled as he looked out at his home world.
“Yes, but this is a different green. A lush green.”
“I suppose it is.” The corner of his mouth quirked upwards.
“Obi-Wan!”
An older woman with a shock of red hair came barreling towards them.
“Mum!” Obi-Wan grinned, catching her in his arms.
“How are you, darling?” The woman cupped his face in her hands, her voice more of a rough brogue compared to her son’s clipped elegant accent.
“Alright, I suppose.” His face softened. “I haven’t had much time to think about it.”
“Oh, I’m so sorry, Obi-Wan,” she murmured. She turned towards Padme. “And you must be the Senator Amidala we’ve all heard so much about.”
Padme’s eyebrows shot up. “You’ve heard about me?”
Obi-Wan’s face turned bright red. “I’ve told my family about my life on Coruscant, of course you would be mentioned.”
“Oh yes, Obi here brings you up constantly.”
“I wouldn’t say constantly, Mum—”
“I feel like I know you myself!”
“Well, it’s an honor to finally meet you, Mrs. Kenobi,” Padme smiled.
“None of this ‘Mrs. Kenobi’ business! Call me Jemmila.”
“Jemmila it is.”
##
There are a lot of Kenobis, Padme learned.
She lost count after meeting forty of them—cousins, aunts, uncles.
The only ones she could remember by the end of the day were his mother Jemmila, his father Fenn, and his younger brother Jeshi, the latter of whom helped her and Obi-Wan with their bags.
“You’ll be sharing a room,” Jeshi said, hauling one of Padme’s large bags up the stairs. “I hope that’s alright with your majesty.”
Padme blushed. “I’m not royalty anymore, Jeshi. Padme is fine.”
“Oh, sorry,” Jeshi apologized. “It’s just, Obi would tell these stories about the Queen of Naboo saving her planet and ruling her people—”
“Jesh, I told you other things about Padme too,” Obi-Wan interjected.
“Yeah but I remember the ones you told me when I was wee the best,” he said. Padme recalled Jeshi was seventeen years younger than Obi-Wan—a lovely surprise, Jemmila had said.
“Perhaps I can tell you other stories while I’m here,” Padme said. “Ones your brother doesn’t know.”
Jeshi perked up. “Really? That’d be grand!” He dropped the bag inside the door of the . . . cozy spare room.
“Thank you, Jeshi,” Obi-Wan said.
“Clean towels are in the ‘fresher. I’ll be next door if you need me?” Jeshi ended his sentence as a question.
“We should be fine. Goodnight,” Padme said.
“Yes, goodnight,” Obi-Wan smiled, watching his brother as he left the room.
As soon as they had privacy, he turned to Padme. “I’m so sorry about this.”
She frowned. “Sorry about what?”
“This. Sharing a room, a bed. I don’t want to make you uncomfortable. I’ll talk to my mum—”
If only he knew. “Obi-Wan, we’ve shared a bed before,” Padme pointed out.
He blushed, rubbing the back of his neck. “Well, yes, but the circumstances were different then—”
“It doesn’t matter. I’m fine sharing a bed if you are.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes. Now let’s get ready for bed.”
##
The next morning, the sounds of talking and banging downstairs woke Padme. She flipped over and found Obi-Wan gazing over at her, his face masked in sleepy confusion.
“Hey,” she rasped. “How are you feeling?”
Padme’s heart shattered as she watched the memory of the previous day return, the pain of grief clouding his features.
He pinched the bridge of his nose. “All things considered? Alright, I suppose.” He rolled onto his back. “Is it childish to admit I had hoped it was a bad dream?” he whispered.
“Oh, Obi-Wan, I’m so sorry,” she said, blinking back tears. It pained her to see this strong, patient, consummate Jedi in so much distress. She wished there was more she could say, more she could do to help him—if there was anything she could do to take away his pain, she’d do it in a heartbeat. Anything for Obi-Wan.
She gently brushed her fingers against his arm. “Is there anything you need? Anything I can do?”
He covered her hand with his, rubbing the back of her hand with his thumb. “No . . . Just you being here . . . it helps more than I can say. Thank you, dearest.”
Padme swallowed. She could picture herself so clearly crawling across the bed, straddling his waist, and pulling him in her arms, holding him close as if she could heal him through the sheer strength of her love.
“Let’s go downstairs,” she suggested.
##
Stewjoni mourning traditions were more . . . celebratory than Padme had been anticipating.
Obi-Wan’s older brother, Duran, had arrived with his partner, Elias, and their children, Sovi and Terral—and they brought the raw bantha, ready to roast for Qui-Gon’s wake.
“Is roasting a whole bantha part of the funeral traditions?”
Elias laughed. “Oh no, lass. This was Qui-Gon’s favorite meal.”
“On Stewjon, funerals are a celebration of the person’s life, not a mourning of their death,” Jemmila added. “Of course it’s normal to feel sad at someone’s passing. But it’s more important to remember the joy they brought us in life.”
Padme smiled. “That’s a lovely thought.”
“Qui-Gon Jinn loved his food,” Fenn said. “A perfect fit for our family.”
“Remember when he demolished that tray of butter-basted land shrimp?” Jeshi laughed.
Duran cackled. “He didn’t realize it was a party tray!”
“He was rather embarrassed,” Obi-Wan grinned. “He couldn’t look at a land shrimp for months after that.”
“But every time he visited, your mother insisted on making it for him,” Fenn laughed, looking like the spitting image of his middle son.
“What?” Jemmila played innocent. “He clearly liked it! I’d be a bad host if I didn’t make it.”
Padme giggled. “I’m not much of a cook, but I’ll do what I can to help—everything smells wonderful.”
“Hopefully you’re better in the kitchen than Obi here—he almost burned the house down twice!” Duran said.
“The second time was not my fault!” Obi-Wan protested.
“That’s what you said when you tried to make grilled crupa breasts at the palace in Aldera and Qui-Gon had to Force-throw water from the pool before you set the entire palace on fire,” Padme laughed.
Obi-Wan’s family burst out in a roar of laughter.
Elias grinned, turning to Obi-Wan. “We like this one, a bhobain—don’t scare her off.”
Obi-Wan turned bright red. “I’ll try not to.”
##
In the days leading up to the funeral, members of the Kenobi clan took shifts sitting with Qui-Gon’s body after preservation.
“It’s tradition to watch over the body before the funeral,” Jeshi told Padme. “To protect the spirit from falling to the dark of night—Obi-Wan would call it the Dark Side.”
She nodded. “I imagine it’s also a chance to say goodbye.”
“Yes,” Jeshi agreed. “That’s what most of us use that time for. To say thank you and goodbye.”
During Obi-Wan’s shift, Padme walked over to his place beside the wrapped body, holding two mugs of hot sucosa.
“Want some company?” she asked.
He smiled up at her and shifted over. “I’d like that, Padme.”
She sat beside him, handing over one of the mugs. “Your mother’s secret recipe is delicious.”
He sipped his drink. “Kenobi family secret.”
“So she said.” Padme sipped her own drink. “How are you feeling?”
“Better than I did when we arrived,” he said, staring ahead at the pyre. “It’s strange. I miss him so deeply and yet he’s right in front of me. But it’s not him.”
Feeling brave, Padme rested her head on his shoulder. “He’s gone, even though he’s right in front of you.”
“Exactly,” Obi-Wan agreed, his hand casually resting on her thigh. “I still catch myself thinking of him in the present tense.”
“That’s not a bad thing,” she replied. “He’ll always be alive in you, in Anakin, in the Jedi Order. He’s probably alive in the Force, too—wait, is that how the Force works?”
He snorted. “Yes, more or less. We believe he is one with the Force now—that’s what the burning symbolizes.”
She nodded. “It doesn’t make it easier, though, does it?”
“Not in the short term, no.”
They sat in companionable silence, neither ready to be alone, watching over Qui-Gon.
“Padme,” Obi-Wan began, his voice raspy from disuse. “I know you must feel like you aren’t doing enough, or not doing anything . . . But you must know, my dear, this is everything.”
She looked up, her heart sinking at the tears filling his eyes. Even when he’s in the depths of his own grief, he still feels the need to make her feel better. “Obi-Wan—”
“Being here with me, my family, dropping your entire life to be by my side, it means more than I can say. Staying with me makes all the difference.” He paused, trying to maintain his composure. “I cannot thank you enough.”
“You don’t have to thank me at all. I’d do it again in a heartbeat.” I’d do anything for you in a heartbeat.
He drained the last of his drink. “Still. I hope one day I’ll have the opportunity to return the favor in some way.”
Padme stood, taking the mug back.
“You already have,” she replied, leaving him to grieve in private.
##
The night before the funeral, Padme watched Obi-Wan go through his katas before bed—part of his usual routine, she noticed.
Still, she pretended to read her holo novel as he went through his routine, keeping a watchful eye on him to make sure he wasn’t over-tiring himself.
When he finally came to bed, Padme reached over to her nightstand to shut off the light.
“Goodnight, Obi-Wan.”
“Goodnight, Padme,” he replied, his voice soft. “Sleep well.”
She couldn’t help but smile. Always caring and kind.
Padme kept herself awake, listening to Obi-Wan toss and turn beside her. She knew she wouldn’t be able to sleep if Obi-Wan wasn’t sleeping.
After half an hour of his restlessness, Padme turned towards him. “Obi-Wan? Are you alright?”
He sighed. “I can’t sleep,” he admitted. “I feel this . . . weight in my chest that won’t go away. I can’t sleep with this pain, Padme.”
She turned over to face him. “That’s your grief. It’s normal to feel that.”
“I haven’t been able to cry, not really, since we arrived. I’m trying to be strong for everyone else who loved him, I want to be there for them—”
“But you need to process your feelings too. It’s okay to cry, Obi-Wan.”
His chin wobbled, and his breath started shaking, his tears glistening in the moonlight. “Padme,” he choked.
“Come here,” she cooed, pulling him in her arms as he quietly wept against her chest.
She stroked his hair and rubbed soothing circles on his back, shushing him softly. He pulled her impossibly close, needing to be comforted as much as she needed to comfort.
I’m here, Obi-Wan. I’m here.
After a while, his sobs eased and turned into sniffles, though he still kept her close. Padme reached over to her nightstand and grabbed a handkerchief for him. He accepted it gratefully, wiping his eyes and blowing his nose before discarding it on his own nightstand.
When he finished cleaning himself up, he settled back into her embrace.
“Padme?” he whispered, his voice heavy with sleep.
“Yes?”
“You’re my best friend.”
Words that only a week ago would have broken her heart now comforted her and touched her in ways she never thought possible. Being Obi-Wan Kenobi’s best friend meant more to her than any other title. It was an honor to hold a special place in this beautiful, brilliant man’s life, and even if he never returned her love in the way she wished, she would never give up her relationship with him.
She still wanted him to know how she felt, but she no longer threatened to burst with her feelings. Rather, they had settled between them like a warm blanket, ready to support and comfort him as he needed.
And that was enough. Loving Obi-Wan in any way he needed was truly enough for her, and that knowledge eased her mind and her heart.
“Let’s get some sleep,” she cooed. Obi-Wan was asleep before she finished her sentence.

Whumptober 4/31
prompt: dead on your feet
fandom: Star Wars
words: 634
tw: flashback, panic attack, childhood trauma
He waves off Anakin’s offer of a meal in favor of cleaning up.
“Unlike you, I was very much in the middle of the fighting. I am quite dirty and sweaty. A shower is much more appealing than food at the moment,” Obi-Wan says.
“Well, if it weren’t for your hatred of flying, then maybe you’d get to join me in the cozy side of this war.”
“Well, we can’t all be pilots. They do need some of us on the ground, after all.”
Obi-Wan enters his tent. One of the perks of being a High Jedi General is that he does have his own tent as well as a shower. It’s just a sonic but not having to share is a plus.
He works on autopilot; the routines of war are familiar to him; they have been since his youth. At first, he thinks that it’s mud on his boot. The dirt on his planet is a touch reddish. But it’s brighter. He knows that color of red.
Suddenly, he’s not seeing his white, clone trooper-issue boots. They’re worn leather boots that are too big for his feet. He hears the bombs and smells the decaying bodies. There has been so much death. It was all he wanted to stop here was the death in a war that had gone on long enough that neither side knew the reasons. Instead, they fought and killed for vengeance over their own family’s deaths.
He can’t breathe. His chest hurts from the effort. He’s lightheaded and struggling for each breath but he can still see everything so clearly as it happened years ago. It wasn’t years ago. Not right now. It’s happening and he has to get the others to safety, the little ones because they can’t be here. They shouldn’t. That’s his job, to take the little ones from one bombed-out shelter to another, further from the front where they will hopefully be safer.
“Obi-Wan.” The voice is familiar, but he shouldn’t be here.
“I… I have to pro… tect them.” He curses his weakness. This is why Qui-Gon was more than happy to leave him here and why hasn’t yet been able to prove himself worthy of the help he promised.
“Obi-Wan.” It’s the same voice again, only sharper this time. And then someone slaps him. “Come on, Obi-Wan, you’re having a flashback.”
A flashback? No, he’s fighting a war.
“Yes, you are fighting a war but not the one you’re thinking.”
“I… I have to… get the… kids.” Why can’t he breathe?
“Take a deep breath, Obi-Wan. I’m going to count, okay? Just listen to me and we’ll have your breathing back to normal.”
Obi-Wan doesn’t believe it’ll be that simple, but he trusts the voice. It’s comforting even though he can’t place the owner. He listens, holds his breath, and lets it out. There are some stumbles and his chest burns but as his breathing eases the war with the mission to save the children fades.
“Anakin,” he says breathlessly, looking at his former padawan sitting across from him in his tent.
“Yeah. You back with me and this war?” He looks a little unsure.
“Yes. Thank you.” Obi-Wan moves to get up.
“Hold on there. Kix is going to be here shortly. He’s still working on triage, and I told him I had this taken care of.”
“I’m fine,” Obi-Wan insists.
“Sit with me for a bit longer and tell me what you see.”
Obi-Wan sighs. His instinct is to argue once more that he’s fine, but he sees the lingering worry on Anakin’s face. This wasn’t the worst of his flashbacks, but it was post-battle with a lingering threat of attack. He needed to be in his best possible mental state. So, he begins with the five things he sees.

Masterpost
Hello all! I'm Wren.
Welcome to my Star Wars blog, where I will post various ramblings, fics, the occasional thoughts and OCs content. Here's a master post to get you started.
Main blog @wayward-wren. Other stories, both fanfic (not star wars) and (hopefully) original content focused @words-with-wren.
Useful tags.
Anything I write, be it OCs or canon characters, will be tagged with #my words
AO3 links:
Desert Birds Fly in the Rain: My Jango Fett/Shmi Skywalker fanfiction that is slowly a work in progress. It starts a little before the Clone Wars begins, with Jango running into Shmi on Tatooine, and continues throughout the War, changing the course of canon because of course it does. Anything related to that, chapter updates, ramblings or answering asks about it will be tagged under #Desert Birds
Second Chances: A Probably Abandoned (sorry) fic diverging from Canon after the beginning of Clones Wars season 6, in which Rex, Kix and Jesse save Fives' after Fox shoots him and smuggles him off world. Anything Related to this will be tagged #Second Chances. (But again, it is likely not going to be continued)
Other AO3 stories:
Goodbye: A rewrite of the final scene of the Wrong Jedi.
I Have Failed You: A character study of Obi-Wan after the Phantom Menace and his relationship with Anakin and Qui-Gon's Legacy
Order 66 Feels: A collection of short works I did to work through various emotions related to Order 66. Including: Good Soldiers Follow Orders Parts One and Two: Stories from the Clone's pov of Order 66. Children of the Force (thoughts on the children orphaned), Aftermath (Ahsoka and Rex at the end of it all), and Leaving to Let you Go (Kix and Jesse and losing a brother)
Ongoing Stories.
Name Pending: My OC story, exploring the lives of Vyena Ru'wan, Jebrin Veer, CT-3377 "Buttercup" and Reechi Kii. The crew is thrown together near the beginning of the Clone War and find their place in the galaxy together. All posts will be tagged with #pheonix aliit (until I figure out a proper name)
The 236th - Kill Batallion: Some stories I was playing around with exploring what Pong Krell's Batallion would look like. All posts will be tagged with #the 236th
Other Tags
All my posts will be tagged with the story they're set in and if they have any OCs the format will be "oc: [Name]"
Other tags to be aware of include:
#short story: this will be short stories/one-shots I throw out.
#unwritten story: story ideas I want to play around with but likely will never write
#ask prompts: stories I wrote because of an ask prompt.
#answered asks: as it says, asks i've answered, be it expanding on a story or not
Hopefully this is a useful master post! If not, well, it is tumblr. I've done my best 😅 A lot of these stories are from a couple of years ago, so they're probably out of date and my writing has (hopefully) improved since then. Either way, I hope to continue writing more and engaging with the fandom again! If any links are broken, please let me know!

Spoilers for Obi-Wan Kenobi Part III
Saw 1 gif when i woke up and opened tumblr but i didn’t look closely at it and immediately closed the app so I’m like “was it who i think it was or someone else entirely? Does this show actually have hallucinations? Force visions?”
Mhmhmhmhmh last week i was excited now I’m mostly nervous
Nervous for what i have no idea it’s not like any of my favorite characters are in actual danger lol
Recap
It’s kinda funny that Sidious let the Senate continue to exist. My pal Friendpatine was like “I want absolute power but I’m still gonna delegate. I can’t actually micromanage all those systems”
The Tragedy of Anakin Skywalker is that he used to be so hot and now he’s an albino potato in a test tube.
Let’s go
Oh
Qui-Gon’s not home bud
Istg if they show us Anakin getting lifted off the bacta I’ll cry
I’m crying
Vader Assembly Line
Sexiest breath in the galaxy
Sexiest lava castle in the galaxy
No but for real, Rogue One was great and it brought us one of the greatest thing in star wars: the lava castle
“Where is he?”
Ah.
Aw he’s got a throne
“The Grand Inquisitor means nothing.”
Reva, you gotta know girl, Anakin doesn’t give a shit about things that are not Obi-Wan.
“Kenobi is all that matters.”
What was i saying?
I wonder if she knows he’s toast under that armor.
Until i know more I’ll headcanon that she had a massive crush on Anakin and what she actually seeks is Vader’s attention.
“Are we almost there? Can you make this thing go any faster?”
How much do you wanna bet that Anakin asked Obi-Wan the same thing like a dozen time when he was his padawan?
“Can’t you use the Force on it or something?”
THAT'S NOT HOW THE FORCE WORKS LEIA
“That’s not how it works.”
*low fives Obi-Wan*
Aw she’s so cute with her blanket
Aw he fixed Lola!
I have so many questions about that!
Like, was it hard to fix? Is fixing droids a thing most people know how to do in the GFFA? Is it a thing that Jedi have to learn? Is it something that Obi-Wan more or less always knew how to do as long as we’ve known him? Is it something he learned to do in the last 10 years because he had to fix his shit himself? Is it something he learned because Anakin?
Nice music.
Actually I’ll stop on this. Their little cargo ship flying over this desolate land… and the music. Idk it just strikes me as - kind of out of the box for Star Wars. Not in a bad way. I love it. And even tho I hate that the franchise went to Disney and haven’t even watched the Mandalorian and the BoBF (feel free to boo me) I’m so glad we’re getting new content outside of the main saga because We Get Shit Like That. More Star Wars but with different flavors if that makes any sense.
Oh so not only did they have to stick to the trade route, they couldn’t even chose the route. That’s a fully automated ship and they had no choice of destination.
OH HELL YEAH HE'S FULLY HAVING ANAKIN HALLUCINATIONS THATS THE SHIT I WANTED TO SEE
(And that’s the gif i saw)
Rip that drawing of a very similar scene i never finished
Fuck I’m so happy tho
Sexy sexy ocean tower
I love everything about that evil base
Big Forsaken vibes in here. Oh I just spoke to the Dark One myself, he promised me Nae’blis.
Freck you weirdass mole you better not be a traitor.
That or he’s gonna die because of them.
Ah. Imperial flag. Snap.
“Absolutely. We like the Empire.”
😂 Leia, baby
She looks a lot like my older sister did when she was little.
They’re looking for a Jedi and don’t even know what he looks like? Lol. The Empire is so efficient.
You know what? The music is kind of giving me Dune vibes actually rn.
Oops. Bad slip up here.
“Sometimes when I look at Luma, I see her mother’s face.”
😬
Lol that Stormtrooper went okay we’re getting into personal stuff now let’s change subject and look at the view.
That wasn’t such a long way after all.
“You knew her. My real mother. Didn’t you?”
😬
“Are you my real father?”
Ahahahahaha
“I wish that I could say I was.”
Don’t say that in front of Anakin bro, he already thought you and Padmé had a thing behind his back.
“Sometimes I try to imagine what he was like.”
And here’s the guy who knows exactly what he was like just in front of you.
“I know that feeling.”
.😭😭😭
“I think I had a brother.”
.😭😭😭
Look it’s Feeling Emo About Baby-Wan Hours back with a vengeance
Sexy laser barrier
Freck how do you have perfect enunciation with that freaky jaw of yours
What’s protocol 23
Nice shot of Obi-Wan being beautiful under his hood, I bet protocol 23 is a full body search
I mean they called for a probe
IT’S BLASTING TIME
Wilhelm Scream
Good night Freck
Bro you could have just went around the barrier
Réinforcements!
Oh I know her. Or maybe not.
Ehehehehe.
Has he? Been informed already? The Force works fast but the Inquisition works faster.
I didn’t know I needed Leia and Obi-Wan adventures in my life but now that I have it
“It’s all automated, no one ever comes in here.”
Sounds a lot like that other guy said when sending them to the freit loading area. Looks like they found a pretty big flaw in the Empire’s system.
Oh, Ned doesn’t have a voice 😔
Oh no, you guys see some of them again, except they’re wearing black now.
QUINLAN WAS HERE
SMUGGLING YOUNGLINGS
that’s sweet
I always forget what happens to that guy, especially since I switched him and Ventress dying in Open Circle.
Sweet of them to interrogate a droid that can’t communicate
Oh that thing he did behind his back with his tool
I love his design, too
Ehehehe he low key looks like a serial killer with his hammer
Leia reading everyone around. Couldn’t read Freck tho 😆 he was turning his back to her most of the time
“Can you teach me how to shoot?”
“When the empire stood for something” when was that can’t recall.
“I can’t imagine Obi-Wan Kenobi doing anything wrong.”
That’s what we all said! This man has never done anything wrong in his life ever.
Well, Tala, welcome to the fanclub. Have you met our president Anakin?
(Also she was exactly the actress i thought she was at first)
YEAH WHAT IS IT BEN
AH
OH MY GOD
WALK WALK FASHION BABY
Fuck he’s going to feel him
I mean Obi-Wan almost passed out
So unless the Dark Side is dampening it on Anakin’s side, he’s going to feel him too. That or Anakin is just that obnoxiously loud in the Force.
Oh yeah he’s got you.
Tumblr media
Sexy sexy force choke
This show is so hot
snap
Obi-Wan be like “you girls go I’ll stay and enjoy the show”
“He said not to engage.”
Yeah that’s his guy, don’t touch.
AHAHAHAHAHA
YES
😂😂😂 I can’t
Obi-Wan just went so yeah I’m not gonna engage. I could just see Anakin’s face under there. Like… okay???
(Like what are you doing man I’ve been looking for you for a decade and you don’t even want to rub lightsabers with me?)
Imagine how weird it must be for Obi-Wan tho, under the panic. That’s Anakin, there’s no doubt, because of the Force. But he doesn’t sound like him and he can’t see his face (and even if he could, that’s not the face of his friend anymore, that’s a wrinkled marshmallow).
“What have you become?”
Bro what about a hello first.
“I am what you made me.”
Tumblr media
Aaaand he keeps on running away 🙄
I wonder if he’ll scream “nooo” when Obi-Wan gets on the next ship
“He’ll be fine.”
“No he won’t be.”
Well, he’ll be fine physically but Vader has that passive area of psychic damage when it comes to Obi-Wan so you’ll want to check on him afterwards
Asdfghjkl the lightsaber igniting made me jump and also i thought for a sec it was a Galaxy of Heroes notification because i wasn’t watching the screen.
Yeah babes! Rematch!
“The years have made you weak.”
And they made you so ugly. At least Obi-Wan’s still hot.
Fellas is it gay if our light saber blades are touching
“You should have killed me when you had the chance.”
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
I bet most of the time he wishes Obi-Wan did.
My neighbor just came asking me for cellophane and ohmygod have i been watching this for two hours already
He’s so dramatic i love him.
Asdfghjkl sick burn
Now i really think the thing Anakin is the most bitter about is his pretty face
“Bring him to me.”
While i like how you say it, Anakin, baby, you could just make him float.
Did she
Relight the fire on purpose????
Oh i didn’t catch that it was Ned picking Obi-Wan i thought he was just fucking burning there had to go back to understand why Vader was like “okay I’m not gonna do shit”
Bro he straight up looks like he’s dissociating standing there
“Okay bye.”
Tumblr media
Feel that burn Obi-Wan? It’s called karma.
Leia and the 3rd sister. Not good 😬
