#queue minutes for delay of game

Peek into my Mods folder...
This is dedicated to @alltimefail-sims or anyone who needs a little help with lag!
I have several mods I refer to as "efficiency mods" that are little quality-of-life tweaks that make the game smoother for me, either by reducing lag or reducing immersion-breaking hiccups. As always, your mileage may vary, but hopefully this is helpful to someone. :) List of mods under cut to keep your dash clean.
No Intro - Whether you are trying to 50/50 your mods, testing new CC, or just need to shave time off your game loading... get rid of the cinematic intro.
Free Will Delay - Do your sims curbstomp their queue and proceed to fuck off to something unrelated? Yeah, me too, until I got this mod. From the mod description: "[E]very time you tell your sim to do something, they will be forced to listen! …For 5 minutes. Then they get free will back again. This is probably why controlling Sims in Sims 4 feels so bad! Because you lose control the second they start doing what they're told. Even if you queue up actions, the total time is STILL five minutes- because it goes from the last direction you give your sim. So you can tell them to do 3 hours worth of stuff while paused…and they'll get control back after 5 minutes. This mod changes this timeframe to an option of your choosing, to make controlling your sims feel more rigid."
Simulation Unclogger - This is an oldie-but-goodie mod from Turbodriver that helps interrupt when Sims get stuck in an endless action loop.
Evolve/Fertilize All Plants - Kind of weird how we can Harvest All but you can't Evolve or Fertilize All, right?
No Empty Venues When Arriving - Helps with the issue of going to a community lot and waiting around for Sims to show up. May cause increased lag if you are bottlenecked by RAM.
Food Autonomy Overhaul - Stops your stupid Sims from eating ingredients, AND allows Sims who hate cooking to autonomously grab quick meals. Didn't know they wouldn't do that? Yeah. That's a thing.
Don't Do That! Version 1 and Version 2 - Removes autonomy on annoying actions that can't be affected by MCCC tuner, like reactions and some trait idle animations.
Less Obsession - Lowers autonomy for certain things without disabling entirely. I still want my Sims to paint, but I don't want them to start a new figure painting any time they are left unsupervised.
Smarter Self-Care - Makes Sims prioritize their needs better before they are uncomfortable. I only use the packages for NPCs and Pets.
NPC Relationship Autonomy Fix - Stops random Sims from breaking into your house to ask to be your BFF (and tunes the requirements so they actually have to be your friend first.)
Buy More Upgrade Parts - Allows you to buy a package of 50 upgrade parts for when you are grinding out handiness or robotics.
The following mods are all by Bienchen and don't have a direct page for each package. You can search by name pretty easily on their website. I recommend flipping through and grabbing anything you find useful - I have a total of 368 of their mods installed. Here are some highlights:
novisibleecoeffects - The aurora will nuke your framerate. I know it's pretty, but oh my god.
noautonomousbakewhitecake - Does what it says on the tin, keeps your house from being overrun by cakes.
harvestnogroupinteraction - Stops club members from autonomously harvesting plants. Those are MY death flowers!
lessemotionidles - Reduces unnecessary idle animations from emotions, great for preventing your Sims from looking flirty at inappropriate times...
lesspreferenceidles - Stops your sims from thinking about how much they like fishing/fitness/etc. when they should be doing things.
happytoddleridledisabled - Stops the idling from the Happy Toddler trait. SUPER useful for family gameplay.
laundry_buffsandsoloidlesfix - Stops or reduces idles related to laundry. It's just clothes, bro
eldertweak - Reduces elder animation idles.
hastopeewalkstyleforchildonly - Helps get your Sims to the toilet in a reasonable amount of time.
tinyhousebuffhider - I know I'm in a Tiny Home, I don't need a moodlet.
lottraiteffectshider - Hides the little floating lightbulbs around Sims heads from lot traits.
notraitnotifications - I know my geek likes video games, I don't need the pop-up every time I play.
noholidayoutcomenotification - Please don't rub my nose in the fact I forgot to celebrate.
nofestivalnotifications and nofestivalnotificationsound - Helpful when a pack is new, but years later... no thanks.
noenrollmentandscholarshipinfo - No more info screen about the two universities. I think most of us know it all by now.
nouprootplant - Never cry because of a misclick again
simschangeoutfitwhenhotorcold - Should have already been autonomous, but alas.
novisualpoliteintroeffects - I don't know if I am the only one, but the glowing really bothers me.
restaurantsittweak - Sit down and eat your dang food! No more wandering Sims.
longerprom - Takes 6 hours instead of 4 so you can actually do something.
I probably have other QoL mods that could be helpful, but these are my recommendations to start with. Love to all the modders that keep this game playable <3

Hi could i ask this
Vampire reader x steve
Nsfw
Them making out suddenly reader gets thirsty and nips at steves neck . He thought it would be painful but all he felt was pleasure from her
I'm not gonna lie: I'm jaded enough to read this and think "what's not-safe-for-work about this?" Guess I'll just leave an open-ended warning that there's kissing, one f-bomb, and a bit of blood, but...isn't that what we're all here for? yes, I'm laughing out loud right now. what about it
Tumblr media
"Steve," you gasp against his lips, "I'm serious."
He presses at your hip to keep you in his lap. "One more minute."
He's been on mission so long. You can't say no now that his deep timbre is back beside you where it belongs, close and vibrating in your ear, rattling down to your spine to...
Your stomach rumbles louder than Steve's voice.
"I need to feed."
The whine is pathetic, but it's true. You spent the whole day worrying about why Steve's return was delayed, his quinjet arriving home thirteen hours later than Natasha and Clint's. No communication, no explanation other than an electrical storm. You're so hungry, but you were more distracted by Steve's absence.
"But I'm here," Steve mutters, sucking in your bottom lip before claiming the breadth and depth of your mouth all at once.
His tongue slicks across your teeth, snagging on a fang, and the coppery spice of it sends a familiar pulse of need, creating a ripple in the pond of hunger lingering beneath your skin.
Steve has never played this dangerous game before. He doesn't realize that taste trumps all else when you're desperate. The feel of him squirming between your legs won't stop it. The whispers of dirty little praises can't deter it. The smell that comes off him while he moans and grinds in a plea for friction makes it worse.
He grabs at your ass just as he breaks for air, tossing his head back to move the hair clingy over his sweaty forehead, and there it is.
You only realize you've latched onto his neck when you hear Steve cry out. The single, fortifying gulp of his blood that you manage to down is just a tease.
"Oh god, Stevie, I'm sorry." Your hand flies up to press at his throat. "Please, baby, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to."
But it's torture. Forcing yourself to stop drinking is like voluntarily stopping sex at the moment of climax. You've never been able to explain the feel of your hunger to Steve, and truth be told, you never really wanted him to know.
Vampires enjoy feeding like humans enjoy sex. It's a carnal pleasure that lives deep within and cannot be tamed.
Steve can't know that.
You have to force yourself not to lick at the slow trickle of excess escaping from between your fingers.
Low and rolling like a peal of distant thunder, Steve only manages one word.
"Fuuuuuuuck."
His grip tightens, wrenching your body close, almost painfully marked by the intense press of his palms. His head slowly tilts forward.
Steve's eyes are completely black, pupils so wide you'd never know the blue hidden away somewhere.
"Do it again," he demands, and even though you're the one technically feasting on him, Steve is fully in control.
He loosens a hand to pry yours away from the rapidly healing wound on his neck and preens, stretching that thick column of muscle to pulse tantalizingly inches from your salivating mouth.
Not fair. It's not fair at all...but you're just soooo hungry. Now you're ruined. Now you know. Steve Rogers is delicious in every sense. He enjoys feeding your every sense, too. He lives for it.
That night, you created a monster in the most unexpected way.

This concludes the Fantasy Friday asks for this week, but I will still respond to the remainder as best I can and queue them up for next time! Thank you for reading, gang, and I hope you enjoyed the fun romps today.

Chapter 19.    Details
As the planning meeting broke up into smaller groups, Steve made his way towards Hopper.
“Hi,” he said.
“Let me stop you right there,” Hopper said before he could say anymore. “If you are going to suggest you can finish fixing me first, then the answer’s no. Even if we don’t get to implement this plan until tomorrow, you need to be in top form. And if you are going to apologise that you can’t finish fixing me, because of Max, don’t, because of course the kid who got Vecna’d is in front of an old man with a bad ankle in the queue.”
Steve blinked.
“God I’m too predictable,” was what he chose to say, shaking his head.
“Yes, Steve, you are,” Hopper said with a rather smug smile. “Out of interest, which one was it?”
“The second one,” he replied. “I’m not actually as dumb as the kids like to make out.”
“Kid, you’re not dumb at all, you just have some wildly fucked up priorities,” Hopper told him and patted him on the arm.
He tensed for a moment, but he relaxed as soon as the onslaught he was expecting didn’t come. It helped.
“See, you do a good job,” Hopper said and grinned at him.
“Let’s hope I can do as good a one with Max,” he replied, doing his best not to let his insecurities rise up.
“No doubt from this direction, Steve,” Hopper said, expression turning serious. “Now I think my daughter is trying to get your attention.”
Steve turned to see El smiling at him.
“Guess it’s time for the pre-game pep talk,” he said, more to himself than Hopper, but the man clapped him on the back as he walked away anyway.
Talking to El was surprisingly easy. They went over the plan in a bit more detail before shifting into discussing possible other practice sessions they could do along with Will. El had plenty of ideas which were only slightly terrifying as far as Steve was concerned. He was listening to El and Will discussing the Void when he heard the phone ringing. Jonathan disappeared to answer it, but Steve wasn’t really paying attention.
“Robin, it’s your mom,” did however get his attention.
“Oh, thanks,” Robin said, climbing over Dustin and Mike who had sprawled onto the floor rather than just sitting on it.
“If you get any closer I’m gonna need Steve to fix what you squashed,” Dustin complained.
“Then move, Doufus,” Robin replied, but she was already mostly through the obstacle course.
Steve tuned back into what El and Will were talking about, but kept one eye on the door, in case Robin needed anything. He was relieved to see her bounce back into the room smiling a minute or so later.
“Hey, Dingus,” she called across the room, “good news, technically we’re still employed, bad news, Family Video is not going to open for at least a month.”
“Problem for another day?” he asked, just in case it was something Robin needed to deal with before she could settle.
Sometimes she was like that, and he always liked to make sure.
“Oh, hell yeah,” she replied. “I will miss our mornings of double boxsets if we have to quit, though.”
“Highlight of my days,” he told her with a hand on his heart.
“You have no taste,” she shot back, before tucking herself back on the couch with Nancy.
With that dealt with, Steve returned to his previous conversation and asked what he hoped was a sensible question.
~*~
When Robin and Steve got back to his house, Wayne and Eddie were smoking in the backyard. They’d had no more news about when Max would be back in Hawkins, so the party meeting had broken up. Steve left the walkie on the table in the pool room as he headed out back and Robin disappeared into the bathroom with a quick, “Need to pee.”
“Hey,” he greeted.
“Steve,” Eddie said, face lighting up, “everything go okay?”
“As well as anything can go with that many fifteen-year-olds in the same place,” he replied with a smile. “We now have a workable plan for visiting Max without the hospital turning into complete chaos.”
“The Mayfield girl?” Wayne asked.
Steve nodded.
“She was hurt badly in the quake,” he explained, “and they’re transferring her back to Hawkins today at some time. She was in a coma when the evacuation happened but woke up a few days ago, so everyone wants to see her as soon as possible.”
“I heard she was in a bad way,” Wayne said. “Poor kid.”
“I’m sure she’ll be raising hell again in no time,” Eddie said, giving Steve a supportive smile over his uncle’s shoulder.
“Knowing Max, that’s for sure,” he agreed.
Wayne pulled out a packet of cigarettes and offered him one.
“Thanks, but I quit,” he replied. “Robin kept handing me flyers about lung cancer until I promised.”
“That’s because I’m a good friend,” Robin said, choosing that exact moment to appear from the house. “Terrible habit.”
“That it is,” Wayne agreed, even as he puffed away.
“Told you,” Robin said, grinning at Steve.
“So, what are your terrible habits?” Eddie asked, pinning Robin down with the I-dare-you look he had that did things to Steve on a visceral level.
“The tales I could tell,” Steve replied before his brain could go off on a tangent.
“You would break the best friend code?” Robin gasped, taking a leaf out of Eddie’s book and putting a hand over her heart and everything.
“Dammit,” Steve said, letting his shoulders sag, “you take the fun out of everything.”
“Do not!” Robin squawked. “Take that back.”
She slapped him on the shoulder for good measure. Of course, he had to retaliate, sweeping her into his arms bridal style so she screeched some more.
“Put me down you big bully,” she yelled, slapping his shoulder some more.
“I’ll put you down,” he said and took a step towards the pool.
“You wouldn’t dare,” Robin said, so he had to take another step. “No!” she squeaked, throwing her arms around his neck and hanging on like her life depended on it.
He rolled his eyes, laughing as he gently put her down.
“I would never,” he said, enjoying just blowing off some steam, “you’d get slime all over my house.”
Eddie snorted a very loud laugh at that.
“I hate you both,” Robin said, doing her very best impression of a kicked puppy.
It wasn’t that good, because she just didn’t have the eyes down, but it always worked on Steve anyway. He dragged her into a hug and kissed her on top of her head.
“Forgive me,” he said as she relaxed against him.
“I’ll think about it,” she replied quietly.
“You sure you two ain’t related?” Wayne asked from where he had watched the whole proceedings.
“He wishes,” Robin said with a bright grin.
Steve did not deny it. He often wondered what it might have been like growing up with a sister like Robin. Would he still love her in the same way he did, or would they have grown apart like many siblings he knew? Such questions plagued him.
“Well, I should be getting back,” Wayne said, standing up and stretching his back. “Took me an hour to get through those damn reporters yesterday. Almost missed my ride to the plant.”
“You’re having problems with the press?” Steve asked as Robin pulled away from him.
“Damn vultures,” Wayne replied, “all want a piece of Eddie an’ don’t care if he’s dead or alive. Had to sneak through each time before I decked any of ‘um for the questions they were asking.”
“That sounds terrible,” Robin said, and Steve nodded his agreement.
“You could stay here if you want,” he said as the idea popped into his head.
Wayne looked honestly shocked and Eddie’s eyes had opened in surprise too.
“There’s plenty of room and no one would ever guess you were here,” Steve added as both Munson men kept looking at him.
“I couldn’t impose like that,” Wayne said eventually.
“You wouldn’t be imposing, Wayne,” he did his best to assure the other man, “and it would probably be safer for Eddie having you here,” he added for good measure, “rather than running the gauntlet of press every time you come visit. I’m sure we could get Hop, or Jonathan and Argyle to pick up your things from the motel so no one is the wiser.”
Eddie was asking a whole host of questions with his eyes, so Steve did his very best to make sure his boyfriend knew he was perfectly serious.
“If we put you in the basement bedroom, you shouldn’t be bothered by noise when the house is invaded by teenagers either,” he said as it occurred to him.
They’d have to be more careful about where in the house they discussed anything Upside Down related, but it wasn’t as if every other house except for Joyce and Hopper didn’t have the same problem.
“He’s not going to let you say no, Wayne,” Eddie said, standing up and leaning on his uncle’s shoulder. “Once Steve adopts you, there’s just no way out.”
Steve seriously began to rethink his slime in the house rule as his face rapidly heated up. It might be worth it to see the grin wiped off Eddie’s face. Wayne was looking between him and Eddie now.
“Are you sure, son?” Wayne asked, facing him square on again.
“Perfectly,” he replied. “You’re welcome here.”
The way Eddie’s smile went soft and warm at that had Steve feeling warm for entirely different reasons.
“Then, thank you, Steve,” Wayne finally said. “I would be most grateful to take up your offer, especially to keep Eddie safe.”
“Great,” Steve said. “I can show you the room and we can call the guys so see if they can swing by the motel. What time do you need to meet your ride?”
He listened as Wayne gave him the details and they all headed back into the house.
“You’re going for sainthood, that’s it, isn’t it,” Eddie whispered in his ear as they made their way towards the basement.
“I was thinking more of worshiping my very own demon,” he replied in an equally low tone and very much enjoyed the way Eddie almost fell over his own feet.

And so yet again I found myself walking through the streets on Deptford at 6am, but for once I wasn’t going to work. I was going to the airport!
I took the Thameslink service to Farringdon where jumped on the Elizabeth Line to Heathrow. Terminal 3 was as expected…chaotic! Thankfully my flight wasn’t delayed. The security at terminal 5 are on strike and I was expecting a knock on effect, this wasn’t the case. There was no time for my obligatory Full English breakfast, the queues were too long and so I settled on toasted roll from Cafe Nero.
Admiring the little robot cleaning the terminal floor, I made my way to my gate. After a short while I boarded my flight only to be delayed on the runway for 30 minutes due to there being a shortage of staff in air traffic control. Eventually we took off? The flight flew by as I spent the duration of the flight reading.
The plane smashed into the runway at Otopeni airport (not what I would expect from BA) and I made my way off the plane. Passport control was like a game, queues to enter Romania in all directs, deciding which one was quickest was a challenge. I struck up conversation with the lady in front of me who had flown in from Washington State, USA. She said that she had an incurable disease…which is the travel bug. Accepting that she had left the states and travelled to Romania for cheap healthcare, I entered Romania.

Home for the Holidays
Finally, I embark on the long adventure back to Germany for the holidays. It has been four years since my last visit, so screw the travel anxiety- I’m going home!
I get to the airport and immediately start shaking knowing I’ll be cramped in a confined space for a long period of time.
Seat 32G. Let’s see just how uncomfortable this 11hr flight will be. I go to the desk and ask if I’ll be positioned by a window, aisle, or between two unhygienic nomads who won’t give up the arm rests. The attendant responds “it’s a middle seat.” Aw HAYEL nah, not today. I politely request to look up any other options. Alas! There is one more aisle seat available.
Luck seems to be in my corner, but I should ease the remaining anxiety with a beer. And perhaps a second.
I board the flight and arrive at my seat. Well what’s this?! A muthafuqin baby! It really is just my luck that switching to a more favorable seat would lead me to spend hours next to a dairy-smelling motza ball with exceptional vocal range who enjoys sharing its snacks by throwing them in my lap. And quite a coincidence that the infant’s name was “Kaiet” considering the only thing I wanted to say was “cállate” each time it tried to compete for American Idol.
Now to be fair, this was a pretty good baby. It slept most of the flight and only serenaded a few times throughout the flight. But it kept staring at me, and I don’t care for that shit.
Finally, my spaceship from San Diego to Munich lands. As I wander though the airport towards my connecting flight’s gate, passing those who forgot what walking is and screaming mothers declaring their child has to tinkle, I get a text message:
“Your flight is cancelled. We will be in touch shortly with a solution.”
Fucking wonderful.
I see a queue forming in front of the Lufthansa service desk near baggage claim, and a silly thought popped into my head. “Perhaps they can provide service.” LOL!
I am advised to go upstairs where I can get a train ticket from Munich to Stuttgart that Lufthansa will *reimburse.
We’re at line #2 now. Once at the desk, I am informed I’m in the wrong spot. Line #3 I pay for two tickets- one to an obscure Munich train station and another to Stuttgart. I arrive at the obscure station to find my second train situated next to a line-turn-mob around a hefty, bald character. After being pushed and interrupted by about six people, I assertively ask “excuse me, do you speak English, please?” Hefty, bald character replies with a stare (again- I don’t care for that shit). I repeat myself. Another stare. At this point I just state my issue in hopes a helpful response will present itself in verbal form from the hefty, bald man. Verbal response? Yes. Helpful? Nope. I am now to get another ticket to go back to Munich’s main station and ask for assistance there.
Now if we recall from the beginning of the story- my adventure begins in San Diego, meaning while I have a jacket ready to layer up, my leggings are not made of Thomas Burberry’s wind and weather resistant gabardine. This is important to note because line #4 is 60 people long in an outdoor train station. My anemic ass is cold as fuck and my knees are chattering.
After about 30 minutes, I make it to the desk where I plead with the employee who looked to be about 16 due to the video game-induced dead eyes and lack of skincare routine. He wakes up just enough to switch my train ticket to a non-stop ICE train that will take me to Stuttgart in about three hours. Bless you greasy, dead-eyed boy!
I board the train and I follow the masses forward in a failed search of empty seating which comes to a halt while in the dining car. We find that we are delayed an hour… in a sardine can so packed only standing is an option. Cool.
After a few stops, I spy a table opening up. I am now accompanied by a polite, aged-Matt Damon, German lad who watched my shit while I rushed to grab a beer. I take one sip followed by an audible sigh and am shoved to the window by an old couple flanking mine and Matt Damon’s table. While my German is beyond out of practice, the elderly’s sentiment was basically “ooo look, 4 inches of free space on this bench, lets occupy it aggressively to the point these other passengers uncomfortably shuffle against the window.” Mr. Damon and I comply, but not without a shared “we have a mutual enemy now” look. Now if I am to deal with potent old people breath for 2 hours, I’m gonna need another beer.
My eyes are making me mad at this point so I ask Sir Matt to wake me at my stop. While trusting a stranger to not tamper with your stuff while sleeping is probably ill-advised, I would have needed toothpicks to keep my eyes open at this point. Hours later, I feel a nudge followed by a friendly “we’re here!” I thank the Bourne Identity actor, and go on my merry way.
I see Poppy and Mutina, garbed in their Target brand nanopuffs I gifted them two years prior and tackle them each with a hug. I’m home!
Home sure, but don’t you worry, dear reader, the saga does not end there. Turns out, while I went on a detour, my bag had done the same. I go online to file a lost luggage report for my floral, neon orange L.L.Bean duffle bag (hard to miss, Lufthansa!). Fingers and toes are crossed at this point that my bag is found prior to us leaving for Italy in two days. But we all remember the kinda luck I have, right?
Dad lovingly drove me to a prestigious shopping outlet (the PX) to acquire at least enough pieces to fashion 7 outfits for our trip. If anyone knows the PX, they also know the options there are, well, subpar at best. But dammit I got a fashion degree for a reason!! Pair a few classic staples with a tapered pant here, a puffy sleeve there, all in this season’s color pallet, and we got the full runway show!
On day 5 without luggage, I lose hope that anyone actually works at the airport. I figure I’ll just have to search myself once we return to Germany.
Mom gets a phone call- an eager German lady excitedly announcing the discovery of my bag as though she should be praised with the highest honor. No bitch. I wore PX clothes for two weeks!
I retrieve my bag from the airport and open it to ensure no Christmas present has broken. While relieved that the ramen bowls are intact, I find that the apparel contents are soaked and smell like an old storage unit. Seriously?! (Bless laundry and Dad for doing it!)
*I send my email to Lufthansa customer service explaining both the cost of the train ticket to Stuttgart and the expenses necessary to not wander naked for two weeks need to be reimbursed.
The response I got was not favorable. Apparently because the second flight was cancelled due to “eXtReMe WeAtHeR” that was out of Lufthansa’s control, I will not be getting a refund for the train ticket.
Stay tuned for my upcoming edit on whether or not my Karen voice is successful in getting my clothing reimbursed.

“Do you want to go?” He presses. “It’s not that simple.” If only it was. Of course she didn’t want to go. The boy in front of her shrugs. “It sounds simple enough to me: it’s going to be miserable for you. Don’t go.” Lily blinks at him—he speaks as if it’s the easiest thing in the world to just live by your own rules, put yourself first. He’s standing there, staring at her as the concept winds its way through her mind. What Lily really wants, if she’s being honest with herself, is to spend the day with James Potter.
My fic for the @jilytoberfest Bittersweet Challenge. Prompt: "Don't Go" but make it fluff.

So she has to make up for a lot.
Or: In which James Potter is a gentleman pirate and Lily Evans is his loyal but vastly more competent First Mate.
Written for @thegobletofweasleys Jily Week 2022 pirate au prompt. It has since gotten out of hand and is currently shaping up to be 3 parts (you can blame @sunshinemarauder for the encouragement).

But the rain is always gonna come if you’re standing with me Would it be enough if I could never give you peace?
James blinks. “Are you breaking up with me, Evans?” he jokes softly, resting his hand on hers. It’s a joke, but her body tenses and it immediately puts him on edge. The silence that follows is excruciating.
“I’m not doing anything.” Her nails begin to tap on the mug again—a nervous habit that James spots immediately. “I just think we should have a conversation.”

I got this idea like 5 minutes ago and have been living in Saturday Night's Alright-land for so long, I'm letting myself choose joy.
7th-Year September 1st drabble below the cut.
James hastily waved off his parents with all the sincerity he could muster before he and Sirius started weaving their way through the start-of-term crowd on Platform 9 3/4 for the last time. To Fleamont and Euphemia, this was a momentous turning point, deserving some sort of emotional farewell or well-wishing, but to James it was simply an item on a checklist.
Arrive at platform: Check.
Still, he would've been more sympathetic to his parents' attentions had someone not delayed their arrival by oversleeping.
"Oi, slow down, Prongs. Christ!"
Sirius trailed behind him, navigating the crowds with more care than the other boy, who was charging through the crowd with a fervor that Sirius was all too familiar with by now.
James' eyes flitted rapidly from face to face as he made his way across the platform, searching for those brilliant eyes and the shock of red hair that he hadn't seen in much too long.
This summer had been one for the books, as far as James Potter was concerned, anyway. The freedom of being of-age with none of the responsibilities of school had meant a virtually unlimited choice of ways to entertain themselves this summer. Most evenings saw the soon-to-be 7th year Gryffindors—along with some other classmates—convalescing somewhere or other in Diagon Alley, finding little-known hidden gems of pubs or clubs, cooling themselves off with ice cream at Florean Fortescue's, or just causing general summertime mischief.
It was wonderful to feel so bonded with the others in their house going into their final year, and it had the added bonus of finally sparking that something between he and Lily Evans.
It was nothing serious—not yet. Just little stolen moments throughout the summer: a lingering glance across the table, inconspicuous hand-holding when they found themselves in the back of the group, the occasional goodnight kiss when one of them needed to side-along Apparate the other home. Little stolen moments that had been driving James mad these last few weeks Lily was visiting family and unable to join the end-of-summer hurrahs.
They had been writing each other, however, in her absence. She'd written him excitedly about her appointment as Head Girl, which was completely unsurprising to him as there was no better candidate (and he told her so). He had written back, nervously, and relayed how—incredibly—he'd been named Head Boy, only to be unexpectedly showered with congratulations and 'of course, it's unorthodox, but it makes sense'. They'd exchanged letters about the things they'd miss once Hogwarts was over, their lists of must-do's this year to fully glean the most out of their final year. They'd exchanged 'I miss you's and 'I wish you were here's and 'I can't wait to see you's.
Nearing the other side of the crowded platform, his eyes spotted that specific shade of red that had made this summer so superior to the others. His eyes zeroed in on Lily Evans, hair pulled back, Head Girl badge proudly displayed on her robes as she helped direct what he could only guess was a First Year into the train. His feet halted any forward-movement as his breath left his lungs.
'I can't wait to see you. I miss you.'
Locate Lily Evans: Check.
James moved forward with renewed vigor, her eyes finding his as the First Year loaded onto the train. A smile broke out on her face as he drew near, and gods how he wished he was able to get here earlier just so he could take in her expression that much sooner.
"Hey, you," she called lightly as he neared, looking up at him. "Big day for us, eh?"
Now face-to-face with her for the first time in weeks, after thinking only of her for the entirety of the time since she last left his sight, words escape him. Instead, he smiled down at her, at the anticipation in her eyes and felt sure in a way he hadn't felt with her in a long time, and bent down to capture her lips with his own, hand cupping her cheek.
She leaned into his touch instantly, responding to his kiss with an enthusiasm that caused James' pulse to pound in his ears, drowning out the sounds of the platform around them.
Kiss Lily Evans: Check.
James felt Lily's lips pull into another grin, and he took this as his cue to step back, breaking the kiss and grinning down at her, knowing that the excited glint in her eyes matched his own.
"Well, I meant leading the Prefects' meeting, but glad to know where your head's at," she quipped, unable to wipe the smile from her face.
James shrugged, hand flying to his hair with residual nerves. "Sorry, I was just...excited to see you."
Lily stepped forward, reaching up and pulling his hand down from his hair and lacing her fingers in his. Her eyes lingered on the sight of their entwined fingers as a blush painted her cheeks. "I'm excited to see you, too." Her eyes flickered back up to meet his, eyebrow quirking as she tugged him forward towards the train. "Well come on then. We have a meeting to run."
James followed her, gladly, as they loaded onto the train, feeling a little lighter in his step.
Be with Lily Evans: Check.

But the rain is always gonna come if you're standing with me Would it be enough if I could never give you peace?
James blinks. “Are you breaking up with me, Evans?” he jokes softly, resting his hand on hers. It’s a joke, but her body tenses and it immediately puts him on edge. The silence that follows is excruciating.
“I’m not doing anything.” Her nails begin to tap on the mug again—a nervous habit that James spots immediately. “I just think we should have a conversation.”

Gridlocked and stymied, roadblocked and static, A standstill so bad that we’d have to cuss, They thought the word “traffic,” almost telepathic, And a new god was born, named Trafikus.
The patron of impasse, the deadlocking deity, Wherever there’s blockage, that’s his fault, Hated by all because none owe him fealty, Since the best way to pray is to halt.
Born minutes ago, exploring his power, He said “moving? No thanks” On a whim. Though none noticed, traffic stood still for an hour As if it were nothing to him.
“What else can I stop up?” He hopped up a pole. The cell service flickered and died. He jumped in a router, the queue became full No message accepted inside.
“My assets are frozen” “I’m too constipated.” “My valves are all closin” “I’m tired.” As the blockages faded, dispersed, dissipated, None worked, or even got fired.
Why let things progress? It caused him distress, To let earth continue its functions. But with earth at rest, he lost all his zest, His power lied only at junctions.
With nobody moving, there’s no roads to close. In stagnance, there’s nowhere to play. With traffic improving, he reopened flows:  “Screw ‘blocking’. I’ll stick to ‘delay.’”
This new god, Trafikus, learned his new roles. So when you next experience traffic, In freeways, in game lag, intestines, or head colds, Cuss loud, and heartfelt, and graphic.

Nintendo Live - Monday Journal
Just some journaling of my experience with Nintendo Live today (Monday, September 4).
I got Monday tickets from the free lottery that happened months ago. Did not get any Warp Pipe passes, but really wanted to see the Legend of Zelda concert, and if not that, then the other (Super Mario Big Band) concert.
I went with my parents and we parked by one of the light rail stations, got tickets, but when the train came, they had technical issues and had to reboot the system. And then they did it a couple more times. Eventually, the conductor said that the train was unable to move and everyone got off. We were very delayed and decided to just pay for parking closer to the venue.
Got to the external doors about 10 to opening, but that wasn’t where the real line started. No, we had to go up several escalators to this huge room that was about a quarter full of people waiting in line. It was moving relatively quickly, but time ticked by and by the time we got through the first portion of three, it was 10:30 - the time the Legend of Zelda concert would start.
Happily, they did pipe the concert through to the queue. I held back tears as it started, both from being sad I didn’t have a chance to watch it live, but also at just how beautiful the music was. I love orchestral music so much.
Once we finally managed to get through the line at about 10:45, we headed towards our first stop: Animal Crossing. We entered a very large line and I set my alarm for 11:30, as the Mario concert was at 12:30 and I was not going to miss my chance. We were only about halfway through the Animal Crossing line as it got to 11:25, so I just called it there and let my parents go to the photo op as I headed to get a spot in the concert.
There was no official line yet, but there was a guy standing around who had been there the day before and had seen where the line started. So I was #2 waiting for a spot. Honestly, it was surprisingly entertaining watching commercials for an hour, as that was what was on the screens the whole time. They had enough and long enough ads that they didn’t repeat any while I was standing there.
12:00 they started seating the Warp Pipe Pass holders, and sure enough they were directing people behind us for the standby line. A few minutes before 12:30 they let us standbys off into some plush backless benches - and I got in the front row of those. They were behind the reserved seating (which was much nicer) with a hallway in the middle. While they were not allowing random people into the hallway in front of us, I was positioned just so a staff member was right in front of the right side of the screen where they were showing appropriately-timed gameplay, which wasn’t great.
The Mario Concert was not as emotional as the Legend of Zelda concert. It was jazzy and fun, and there was audience interaction. Specifically for the Warp Pipe Pass holders, as one of the trivia questions asked to the audience no one up there knew but someone in my section did, and the conductor completely ignored him and the others around him projecting it. Definitely gave the vibe I was in the poor people section. But no really, it was a really fun show. It had music from 2D and 3D Mario games from all eras. I’d call myself a casual Mario fan but I recognized all of them and was bopping along the whole time. My favorites, the ones that I felt more than just fun and recognition, were from ones I’ve actually played and loved: Galaxy and Odyssey.
In the end, Mario and Luigi showed up, and my section actually got more out of them than the passholders. They didn’t do much other than show up for the concert, but as they left, Mario waved as he went by and Luigi gave everyone in the front row a high five.
The internet in the venue was super slow, there was some delayed Marco-Poloing to try to meet back up with my parents. Ultimately, they were close to where I was initially, but I had been shepherded out a different way. And then as I tried to get back to them, the Paldea starters blocked my path, so I went even another direction. But we found each other and the Paldea starters were exactly where I wanted to go next.
We managed to get to the starters for the photo op just before they went back to Pikachu, and here I got my first promotional badge - three of them, in fact: each of the Paldea starters.
At this point, though, it was approaching 2 and we had barely had a cup of water, let alone any food, so we left the venue temporarily to eat lunch. At this point I felt a bit disappointed in how little I had seen and made an itinerary for the rest of the day.
First stop when we got back: Super Mario Wonder. The line was nonexistent as there were so many stations set up and we very quickly got to play a 15-minute demo. I didn’t see anything I hadn’t already seen, and honestly 2D Mario isn’t really my thing, but it was pretty fun to try out. I liked in particular the option to use more female characters than just Toadette. I ended up using Peach and my dad Toadette - though that did get confusing with the elephant power-up as the only differences between the two in elephant form are their eyes and hats, which are relatively small. As a bonus, we got elephant Mario pins for playing!
Next stop: Pokemon gameplay. Now that I knew that playing the games gave more swag, I wanted Pokemon stuff. This line took a very long time. Over an hour. There just weren’t enough stations for the demand. My mom decided to head into the merch line at this point. I had brought my Switch and was given the option for more advanced gameplay since I had already beaten the game: a choice between a battle with the staff member (called Professors on the website, but looked like every other staff member in the venue) and to try a Tera Raid against Mewtwo. While I had already beaten the Mewtwo raid with online people and said as much, I decided to try duoing the raid with the Professor. We chatted about strategies as we gave it two good tries but ultimately got our tails handed to us. My Mew was full support and the Professor’s Mew was half support, half attacker, and we just didn’t have enough power. At the end of the gameplay, I was given a double-sided small poster of concept art in the two DLCs.
After this, my dad and I went to meet up with my mom at the merch line, which she was close to the front of. I am grateful for her time sacrifice because I got a neat shirt. I also got to do a photo op with Princess Peach out in this area, and got a Princess Peach badge for doing so.
Less than two hours remained, so I decided to focus on photo ops, since those would be shorter. We went to the Legend of Zelda one, then the Lego Bowser (which was so cool. It was huge and it moved.), and then finally the Kirby one. In line for the Kirby one (which was a neat area with statues of Kirby in various forms and Waddle Dees) staff members were giving out random badges since it was the last hour of the last day. After Kirby, about 45 minutes remained and I felt satisfied. We all hurt from standing in lines so much and carrying around swag, so it was time to go. But we got stopped and advertised to by a Mickey Mouse game staff member, so we went and did that demo real quick to get a Mickey pin. Honestly, that game is a pretty standard 2D platformer from the intro, and has a lot of dialogue at the start and only 8 minutes for the demo so there wasn’t really much time to play. Cute artstyle, though.
After that, out. We needed out. We needed food. We needed home. It was a longer day than any of us expected. I didn’t realize so many people would be there and that lines would get so clogged, since the ticket lottery made me believe they were tempering the number of people there.
There were other things I wish I could have done, particularly some of the semi-competitive games such as the Mario Dojo (compete in three Mario games with others) and the Nintendo Switch Online showcase, but I’m pretty satisfied with what I got to see and do despite the slow morning. It was a fun convention and I’m glad I went.

How a Shipping Service Can Be Very Helpful
Tumblr media
In today's fast-paced environment, travel has become an integral part of our lives. Whether for business or leisure, we find ourselves on the move frequently, often carrying luggage that can sometimes be cumbersome and challenging to manage. This is where luggage shipping services step in, providing a convenient and efficient solution to the age-old question of how to transport our belongings safely and seamlessly. In this article, we'll explore how luggage shipping services in India can be incredibly helpful and how they have transformed the way we travel.
The Convenience Factor
Luggage shipping services offer unparalleled convenience. Imagine skipping the long queues at the airport check-in counters, avoiding the hassle of dragging heavy bags through crowded terminals, and bidding farewell to the anxiety of lost or delayed luggage. With just a few clicks, you can arrange for your luggage to be picked up from your doorstep and delivered directly to your destination. This convenience is a game-changer for travelers, especially those who value their time and peace of mind.
Door-to-Door Service
One of the most significant advantages of luggage shipping services is the door-to-door delivery. Unlike traditional methods of travel where you have to manage your bags every step of the way, these services take care of the entire process. You pack your bags at home, and they are collected, transported, and delivered to your hotel or destination address. This level of service ensures that you can travel light and stress-free, knowing that your luggage will be waiting for you upon arrival.
Safe and Secure
The security and confidentiality of your possessions is prioritized by luggage shipping services.
Your luggage is handled by professionals who are experienced in packaging and transporting items. With advanced tracking systems, you can monitor the whereabouts of your luggage in real-time, ensuring that you are always in the know about its location. Moreover, these services often offer insurance coverage, providing you with an extra layer of protection and peace of mind.
Time and Effort Savings
Time is a valuable commodity, especially when you're on a tight travel schedule. Luggage shipping services save you precious hours that would otherwise be spent waiting in lines, going through security checks, and claiming your baggage at the carousel. By eliminating these time-consuming steps, you can make the most of your travel experience, whether it's exploring a new city or sealing a business deal.
Versatility for Various Travel Types:
Luggage shipping services cater to various types of travelers. Whether you're a solo explorer, a family with young children, or a business professional attending meetings, these services adapt to your needs. They can handle a single bag or multiple pieces of luggage, ensuring that your travel requirements are met seamlessly.
Eco-Friendly Option
Believe it or not, luggage shipping services can also contribute to a greener environment. By consolidating shipments and optimizing routes, these services reduce the carbon footprint associated with transporting luggage through traditional means. This eco-friendly approach aligns with the growing global awareness of sustainable travel practices.
What To Keep In Mind While Using Luggage Shipping Service
Using a luggage shipping service can greatly simplify your travel experience, but there are certain factors to keep in mind to ensure a smooth and hassle-free process. Here's a checklist of things to think about:
1. Choose a Reputable Service
Opt for a well-established and reputable luggage shipping service with positive reviews and a proven track record. Research different providers, compare their services, pricing, and customer feedback before making a decision.
2. Plan Ahead
Book your luggage shipping service well in advance to ensure availability and to avoid any last-minute rush. This is especially true during high travel seasons.
3. Packaging Guidelines
Follow the packaging guidelines provided by the shipping service to ensure that your belongings are properly protected during transit. Use sturdy boxes, appropriate padding, and secure all items to prevent damage.
4. Declare Valuables
If you're shipping valuable items, declare them to the shipping company. Some services may offer additional insurance coverage for valuable items, providing extra protection in case of loss or damage.
5. Verify Addresses
Double-check and provide accurate pickup and delivery addresses. Mistakes in addresses can lead to delays or even misplacement of your luggage.
6. Pack Essentials Separately
Keep essential items such as medication, documents, electronics, and valuables with you rather than shipping them. This ensures that you have immediate access to important items during your journey.
7. Tracking and Communication
Choose a service that offers tracking options so you can monitor the location of your luggage in real-time. Ensure that you have a point of contact with the shipping company in case you need assistance or updates.
8. Customs Regulations
If you're shipping luggage internationally, be aware of customs regulations and restrictions in the destination country. Make sure that the items you're shipping comply with these regulations to avoid any issues.
9. Labeling
Clearly label your luggage with your name, contact information, and any reference numbers provided by the shipping service. This ensures that your luggage can be easily identified and tracked.
10. Arrival Date
Coordinate the arrival date of your shipped luggage with your travel plans. Make sure your luggage will arrive before you do, allowing ample time for any unforeseen delays.
11. Packaging List
Create a list of items you're shipping and keep a copy for your reference. This can be helpful in case you need to file a claim for lost or damaged items.
12. Read Terms and Conditions
Carefully read and understand the terms and conditions of the luggage shipping service. This includes information about liability, insurance, delivery times, and any additional charges.
13. Customer Support
Have the customer support contact information of the shipping service readily available in case you encounter any issues or have questions.
By keeping these factors in mind, you can make the most of luggage shipping services and enjoy a seamless travel experience with the assurance that your belongings are in reliable hands.
Conclusion
In the age of technology and innovation, luggage shipping services have emerged as a valuable asset for travelers. The convenience, door-to-door service, safety, time savings, versatility, and eco-friendliness of these services make them an attractive option for anyone who wants to streamline their travel experience. So, the next time you plan a trip, consider the benefits of luggage shipping services. With these services, you can bid farewell to the stress of managing your bags and embrace a new level of travel ease and comfort. At the starting of this blog you had a question that can luggage be couriered? Now I think the question is gone from your

Professional drivers are well-versed in the local area and traffic patterns, allowing them to choose the fastest routes and navigate efficiently. This means more time for you to relax, explore, or attend to your business matters without any unnecessary delays.
Safety and Reliability:
Safety is paramount when traveling, and airport transfer services prioritize your well-being. These services work with licensed and experienced drivers who undergo thorough background checks. They are well-trained to handle various driving conditions and provide a comfortable journey. Gone are the days of negotiating fares or falling victim to inflated prices. Airport transfer services typically offer transparent pricing structures, allowing you to know the cost upfront. You can easily book your transfer online or through dedicated mobile apps, which provide clear information on the rates and any additional fees. This transparency ensures that you can budget your travel expenses accurately and avoid any unpleasant surprises.

Deleting local content and reinstalling the game.I also get an impression that you are comparing GPUs power by the amount of VRAM they have. That's why games aren't more fun on MacBook, than on iMac/MBP/MP. Wii has different controls/games than PS/Xbox, while MacBook has those the same with MBP, but with 674810824 times slower graphics. Using default loading screen, map, terrain etc Your comparison with consoles isn't appropriate.Putting all graphic settings back to basic.Various restarts of the App, of Steam and of my computer.I am currently unable to queue for 24 hours despite readying up in every game.
GAMING ON A MAC WITH AN UNSUPPORTED CHIPSET UPDATE
However with the 7.00 update it seems the time to load into a match has been reduced from 2:00 minutes to about 15 seconds, as such when I hit accept now, my Mac pauses, beachballs and after about 25 seconds displays the message 'The game was unable to locate the Server', what makes this worst the game registers this delayed load time as a failure to ready up and prevents me from matchmaking. This behaviour has been exhibited for a while and has never caused me a problem as after about 20 - 30 seconds whatever caused the problem disappears and I can successfully load into the game without having to do anything other than wait for the App to become responsive again.

I am running on a MacBook Pro and the cursor begins to display the spinning beachball, a quick review of Activity Monitor on my Mac shows that the Dota 2 app has stopped responding as it is is highlighted in red and reads as such. As soon as all 10 people have hit accept my game freezes. I begin to queue and all goes well, Dota locates me a game and asks me to accept. The issues begins when I try to play a game. I can launch the Dota client and the app runs fine, I can customise my heroes browse the shop everything. I have been playing the game for 3 years on exactly the same system and never had a problem before. I can't launch into a game of Dota 2 since the 7.00 patch.
