Let’s talk about my country, shall we?

General Where is your country?

In Western Europe. The area is commonly known as Benelux.

How big is your country?

30,528 km2. It’s tiny.

What is the population of your country?

More than 11.5 million.

How would you describe the landscape?

Mostly flat with no real forests on the north, more forests and hills on the south.

Which part of your country do most people live in?

Flanders. It’s smaller than Wallonia, yet more populated.

Tell me about the main industries there.

Metallurgy, steel, textiles, chemicals, glass, paper, and food processing.

How easy is it to travel around your country?

Pretty easy. Except that De Lijn and NMBS are faulty sometimes, most of the time they go. And you can move within the country easily, especially that it’s so small.

Food and drink What is the food like in your country? Is it based around meat, fish or vegetables?

Our cuisine seems to be “borrowed” from Dutch and French, but we have our own dishes as well. It’s based on all three. My favourite is waterzooi, it’s a dish native to the city of Ghent and made of vegetables and chicken or fish, cooked in cream.

What agricultural products are produced by your country?

Dairy for sure; eggs, butter, and milk. Timber industry as well.

What traditional dishes are served in your country? Which is your favorite? What’s the recipe?

I’ve mentioned waterzooi, which is my absolute favourite. Not to mention fries and waffles. We have two main types of waffles, the Liège waffle and the Brussels waffle, among others. The Liège waffle is dense and very sweet, with cristal sugar. The Brussels waffle is lightweight, less sweet, and shaped like rectangle. Real Belgian fries are baked twice. We have things like Cuberdon candies, rijstevlaai, ontbijtkoek, steak with fries (very common here), chicons au gratin (chicory with white sauce and cheese), stoofvlees (beef stew cooked in beer, if I’m not wrong), moules-frites (mussels cooked in onions and served with fries), paling in 't groen (eel with green herbs sauce), or filet américain (also known as préparé, it’s our version of tartar steak). These are what I remember from the top of my head.

What drinks is your country famous for?

Beer, hands down. We have over 2000 types of beer, no kidding. We also drink wine, but it’s not really ours.

What alcoholic drinks are produced in your country?

Beer and probably jenever. Wait, jenever is ours for sure.

Are there any stories behind traditional foods?

Fries are not from France, they’re from Belgium. They’ve been introduced to Americans by Wallonian soldiers.

Political Is it safe to visit your country?

Generally yes, everyone is welcome here. Although sometimes crimes happen, butb it’s the thing everywhere.

What is the political system in your country?

Constitutional monarchy. Yup I live in a kingdom.

Who is in power at the moment?

King Philippe. As for the prime minister, it’s currently Alexander De Croo.

How is your country dealing with the current financial crisis?

Haha lol. Our taxes azre probably the highest in the whole Europe.

What can you say about the leaders of your country?

Well, this country has no real government and we even broke our own record in longest time without any government. If you wonder how is it possible, look at the tiny trilingual country in Western Europe.

Cities Where is the capital of your country? Is it on a river, on the coast in the center of the country?

Brussels lol. It’s in between Flanders and Wallonia.

How would you describe the capital city and any other main cities?

Brussels - the city of two languages. Antwerp - the city of diamonds (and of infamous reputation among Belgians lol). Bruges - the city of bridges. Leuven - the city of universities. Hasselt - the city of food and drinks. Ghent - the city of architecture. Can’t say much about the Wallonian cities because I’m much less familiar with them. Although I’m fond of less known (and definitely underrated) cities like Kortrijk, Sint-Niklaas, Veurne, or Nieuwpoort. Or even Oostende.

What special attractions can be found in each city?

Museums, that’s for sure. Architecture, that’s another thing.

Sports and games What is the most popular sport in your country? How do you play it?

Football and cycling. How do people play it? Like everywhere else.

Are there any sports or games unique to your country?

Both inline skating and cricket were apparently invented by Belgians.

When is the best time to watch them?

Whenever, I don’t care much. Esoecially when there are cycling competitions through my city.

How well does your country do in international competitions?

Apparently pretty well.

Are there any sports that foreign visitors practice in your country?

I don’t get this question, like... our sports are international sports?

Is football (soccer) popular in your country? If so, which are the best teams?

Yeah, football is The Sport in here. The Red Devils, enough said.

Weather What is the weather like?

Mellow. Hardly ever above 20°C and below 0°C. Mostly rainy, although we can experience “all four seasons” in one day. Thunderstorms seem to be common here at summer. It rarely snows in winter.

Is the weather very different in different parts of the country?

No, actually not. It’s more likely to snow in Ardennes, though.

Can you describe the seasons?

There’s nothing to describe, all the same.

What is the best time to visit?

Lol. Summer for the beach, winter for Christmas markets. The city I live in is a damn tourist spot.

Language What languages are spoken in your country?

Dutch, French and German are the official languages here, although German is the minority.

What language do you usually hear on the streets?

Dutch and Arabic lol. We have lots of immigrants.

How many people speak English in your country?

Well, in Flanders everyone is like “but you know, my English is not very good...” and yet in the end they’re able to hold a conversation with you XD such a phenomenon. In Wallonia, though, it’s French or nothing.

Customs Is there a particular national costume? Can you describe it?

The Huntress gown, look it up please.

Are there any special local dances? What are they like?

Kuskesdans. Just see for yourself.

Are the people generally friendly?

Yes, they are. ut at the same time we’re pretty reserved. Even when visiting a friend, you have to announce yourself first.

What are some special customs or traditions in your country?

Horseback fishing in Oostduinkerke? That’s the first thing that came to my mind immediately.

History What can you tell me about the history of your country?

Congo. Nothing to brag about.

For more history, I’d suggest visiting places like Lommel, Sint-Niklaas, Waterloo or Ieper. Or Dinant.

Did your country gain independence from another country? If so, when and how did this happen?

Yep, from the Netherlands. Declared 4 October 1830, recognised 19 April 1839.

Interest Check Results

Hey everyone, thank you so much for your outpouring of support for this project! We were overwhelmed by the response to our survey. At the end of the survey period, we had a total of 138 responses! Lets break down how all those people responded.

The first question we’ll look at was: How would you like to contribute?

As you can see on the chart above, over half of the respondents indicated that they were interested in contributing! Of those, a near equal amount were interested in art and writing. Additionally, 9 people said they were interested in applying to be the cover artist, and 23 wanted to make digital merch!

The second question was: What would you like to see included in the final project?

This one is pretty clear. The vast majority of people are only interested in the zine itself. But in case we do decide to add on digital merch we also asked everyone: What kinds of digital merch would you be interested in?

We got a pretty good spread of responses here! Very few people said they wouldn’t be interested in digital merch at all. Most people wanted lots of different types of merch. If we do decide to add these in, there should be a little bit of something for almost everyone!

Finally, we wanted to know how many people were only interested in the potential 18+ add-on, how many weren’t interested at all, and how many would like both!

There you have it! People are pretty equally split between wanting only the regular zine and wanting the zine AND the add-on!

not enough do we talk about how q!phil is just as much a special boy to the feds as some of the others

- cucurucho has given him special treatment MULTIPLE times

- instead of getting fed kidnapped he gets told where to go then has the door closed on him

- codes always seemed to target him when he specifically was alone with eggs

- fed workers just kind of adapt to him

- he and his eggs were very commonly left alone

- his ticket is special.

EDNOS.

In my mid-teens.

3. are you currently in recovery?

No, I’m not.

4. honestly, do you want to recover?

Life would be easier then.

Pretty okay, except for being a little bit drowsy.

Rice, veggies, fruit, oatmeal, cereals.

Red meat, sweets, foods high in fat, processed foods, fast foods.

No, I don’t. This is why I got the EDNOS diagnosis.

I don’t set limits, but I barely make it to 1000, I guess.

A Builder, a Researcher, and a Rooftop, Ch. 20: Controlled Experiment

The builder peered over the edge of the rooftop.

No Qi.

As they expected. Earlier today, he was engrossed in work. Another rush-order diagram, it looked like. They quickly popped into the research center for a quick hello and a peck on the cheek, dropped off some fresh tea leaves, then left just as quickly, not wanting to waste his time.

They sighed. He really needed to stop offering rush orders. There was a reason they stopped making them entirely, even if they were desperate for a machine they needed.

Best to at least check up on him. They went back down and opened the door. Still unlocked. Still working.

At the sound of the door, Qi looked up from his desk. “Oh…hello.”

The builder made their way over to him, a faint smile on their face. “Still busy?” They looked at the open diagram on his desk. Eraser shavings covered the page. They could still see the old pencil marks of the version they saw in the morning.

“Still busy,” Qi said distantly, stretching out his wrists. “Sorry.”

“It’s okay,” the builder said, placing a gentle hand on his shoulder. “Just wanted to check up on you. I’ll go in a sec. Make sure you at least get a little nap in, okay?”

Qi nodded slowly, placing his hand over theirs. “Thank you. Let me know tomorrow how I can make it up to you.”

“You can make it up to me by getting a full-night’s rest,” the builder snorted, giving his shoulder a squeeze.

“Right,” Qi sighed. “I promise I’ll get adequate rest when this is finished.”

“Tomorrow.”

“If it gets done tomorrow, then—”

“Tomorrow.”

“Okay, okay. Tomorrow.”

“Good,” the builder hummed. “I’ll leave you to it, then. Good night.”

“Good night,” Qi mumbled, already turning back to the diagram.

The builder left the research center, shutting the door as quietly as they could. Then they walked home, looking up at the stars as they went with a worried and wistful gaze.

The next weekend, the moon was full and bright. Bright enough for the builder to clearly see the rooftop of the research center all the way from their workshop. It was 11 already, and the builder saw no signs of Qi on that roof. They sighed. Not again.

As they walked into town, they could feel their stomach churning with worry. How many of these all-nighters could Qi physically withstand? At some point, he was going to drive his body right up to its breaking point. And who knew if Dr. Fang could help him then…?

They opened the door to the research center, and saw Qi at his desk again. He didn’t even look up this time. It was only until they drew closer that he noticed them.

He jolted. “Oh!” They saw the dark circles under his eyes as his head whipped towards them. “Um. When did you get here…?”

“Just now.”

“Oh…” He averted his eyes, seeing the upset furrow in their brow. “I…can’t apologize enough. I know I shouldn’t be missing our regular engagements like this, but I’ve got too many high priority jobs at the moment.”

“That’s…not really it, Qi,” the builder muttered, feeling a gnaw in their stomach. “Yeah, I’m not happy that you haven’t been able to make our stargazing dates, but I’m more worried about…” They gestured vaguely. “…this.”

Qi frowned. “Er…me in general?”

“We’ve already been over this, remember? Why do you always push your limits like this? I know how important your work is, but you won’t be able to do it if you’re constantly exhausted like this!”

“I’ve done this for years,” Qi said, a tired tilt to his voice. “Rest assured, I’ve perfected my schedules.”

The builder huffed, pinching the bridge of their nose. “Have you?”

Qi bristled. “Yes, I have. I am not a child, and you are not my parent. I know exactly how to control my workload, my caffeine intake, and my sleep.” The edge in his gaze faded, and his shoulders sagged. “Now please…I have to finish this. I’ll see you tomorrow.”

He turned back to his report, leaving no room for argument. Not that the builder wanted to start one. They simply let out another sigh, gave Qi’s shoulder a pat, and left the research center. Another dull and empty night. They frowned at the sky as they stood outside the research center’s door, already missing Qi’s rambly explanations of the stars.

The gnawing at their stomach hadn’t stopped.

The builder didn’t even bother looking up at the roof this week. They just strolled right into the research center at 10:30.

Once again, Qi was at his desk. His head was lying on top of his open journal, puffy eyes shut and glasses askew. His pencil had slipped out of his hand, while his other arm hung limply below the desk. Drool was spilling onto the page.

The builder let out a loud, exasperated sigh. “Why’d I have to be right…?” they groaned. They moved past his lab, heading upstairs to his room, pulling a blanket off his bed and heading back down to Qi. They gently lifted his glasses off his face and set them down neatly folded next to his head. Then they draped the blanket over his shoulders and took a seat on the desk beside him.

They stared at Qi’s sleeping face, more peaceful than he looked the last 2 Saturdays. Their mind buzzed as they idly threaded their fingers through his hair. How the hell could they convince this man to sleep? The only thing that could ever persuade him on anything was…

“If you hypothesize that a regular 8-hour-a-night sleep schedule would increase my productivity, you would need to perform a proper controlled experiment to test that…”

…cold, hard science.

They hopped off the desk, snatched the pencil out of Qi’s loose grip and found a piece of scrap paper. They quickly jotted a note:

Qi, I’m serious. You can’t keep doing this to yourself. Come see me ASAP tomorrow when you get up. I’m not mad, I promise. In fact, I have an experiment I’d like to run with you. It’s been a while since we’ve done some proper science together. :)

They quietly chuckled to themself as they read it over. That would get him running to their doorstep for sure. They placed the note over his glasses to make sure he’d read it. Placing a gentle kiss to his head, they headed out with a spring in their step. When they got back home, they whipped out a notebook and started some notes of their own.

Boyfriend or not, if he was going to be their advisor and test subject, they had to be prepared.

The builder set down a cup and an ice pack on their dining table in front of Qi, then turned back to the stove to get the kettle.

Qi frowned. “A cold compress?”

“Put it over your eye. It’ll make the puffiness go down. Oh, but not too long. Don’t get frostbite.”

Qi hummed, then took off his glasses and put the ice over his eye, flinching a little at the sudden chill. Meanwhile, the builder set the tea to steep in the teapot, and sat down at the table across from Qi with the tea and a cup in their hands.

“So…what’s your idea?” Qi carefully shifted the ice pack.

“Glad you asked,” the builder chuckled as they took out their notes. “I want to experiment on your sleep schedule.”

Qi sighed. “Perhaps I should have seen this coming…”

“Of course. What else did you expect from your best ever assistant?” The builder took the tea strainer out of the pot and poured both of them a cup.

An amused grin briefly flashed across Qi’s face. “Nothing less. Now. The details, please.”

“Right. So. Research question: will you function better with a regular 8 hours of sleep every night?”

“How will you measure how well I function?”

“Self-reported results on coordination, mood, work completed, necessary caffeine intake…things like that.”

Qi moved the ice pack to his other eye. “Question format?”

“Uh…what’s that one with the options from agree to disagree? Like-something?”

“Likert scale.”

“Yeah, that one. It’ll be like, how much do you agree with the following statements? ‘I feel tired.’ ‘My coordination is off.’ That kind of deal. Plus maybe some questions where you put down a number. How many cups of tea did you have? How many diagrams did you get done?”

“Hm. You’ve certainly put some thought into this,” Qi nodded. He took the ice pack off his face and wiped the lingering water on his face off with his sleeve. His glasses went back on afterwards. “Experiment design?”

“I’m thinking one week of your regular work schedule as a control, then one week where you get a minimum of 8 hours of sleep every night. That’s the experimental.”

“I see. Is that enough time to get an accurate sense of my performance? What about adjusting to a new sleep schedule?”

“Hmm…” The builder tapped their finger idly on the table, looking over their notes again. Qi took a sip of tea. “How…long does it take to adjust your sleep schedule?”

Qi raised an eyebrow. “Well, what does your literature review say?”

“Oh, uh…” They shrunk into their shoulders a bit. “I…don't have a lit review. I literally just came up with this last night.”

“After you left the note in the research center?”

“Yep.”

Qi hummed, thinking for a moment. “Well, normally I would advise you do a review first before designing your experiment, but given the limited time, I suppose we can accept the lack of it for now. Just be sure to do it at some point.”

They blinked. “Oh. Okay. Sure thing.” Huh. They were expecting a lecture. Maybe even just a tsk. What they were doing was technically bad scientific practice, something Qi would always be more than happy to rant about when talking about the shortcomings of assistants he used to work with. Just take it, they thought. Don’t point it out. “But uh…how are we gonna handle the adjustment?”

Qi took another sip of tea, brow scrunched in thought. “Perhaps in between the control and the experimental periods, we could have 5 days for me to get on the new sleep schedule. Your review should tell you whether that’ll be adequate or not.”

“How about a week instead? Just to make the whole experiment a nice, even time block.”

“One week it is, then.”

The builder nodded, making a quick note. “Well, that’s all I’ve got. What do you think?”

Qi hummed. “Not bad, for something so improvised. Don’t think this would be publishable, but if it’s just us doing this, I don’t think I mind that much. Even if it’s a little…” He squinted. “...informal.”

The builder snorted. That was Qi-speak for “if it weren’t you doing this, I’d rip it to shreds.”

“A positive evaluation from Director Qi. Incredible,” they chuckled.

“...Lukewarm positivity, I suppose…” He shook his head. “Anyways. We’ll need to formalize the questionnaire we use. If you can give me a draft, I can evaluate it so you can revise it.”

“Gotcha.” The builder grinned with an excited clap of their hands. “Can you believe it? We’re doing science together again!”

Qi let out a snort. “Haven’t we…always been doing science together?”

“If me half-understanding your tangents whenever we talk about anything deeper than smalltalk counts as science, then uh…yeah. We’ve done it in droves.”

“Learning is entirely what science is about,” Qi said, a familiar warmth entering his voice. “You and I have been doing science together ever since we met.”

“Yeah, but this is…real science. Experiments and all that…stuff.”

“Ontological nitpicks aside…” Qi said with a fond roll of his eyes. “...collaborating with you on this project does sound enjoyable. Despite the upheaval it causes in my work schedule.”

“I’d say it’s for your own good, but you wouldn’t take that. So…for science?” They raised their nearly-empty tea cup.

A genuine smile brightened Qi’s face, and he raised his cup in return. “For science.”

The builder waited patiently for Qi to come to the rooftop. They didn’t mind if he was a little more bogged down than usual. Right about now, he should be wrapping up the analysis on their experiment.

Right on cue, they heard footsteps on the stairs. Qi soon came into view, a rather…interesting look on his face. It looked like it did that one time a long time ago when they gave him a wind chime to hang outside his door (“Completely frivolous.” They took it back. It now hangs outside their door instead.).

The builder had to fight a grin. “So?” they asked innocently.

Qi sat down beside them with a huff. “The analysis is done.”

“And…?”

“From a visual analysis of the histograms,” he said slowly, “there’s a significant boost in positive responses for the experimental condition.”

“Uh-huh…”

“And…upon running statistical hypothesis testing, we find…” He huffed a sigh. “…substantial statistical significance. And we reject the null hypothesis.”

The builder couldn’t help but grin now. “Aaaand…?”

“The findings are in line with the literature we received from Dr. Fang,” Qi grumbled. “It’s safe to say that this statistical significance has…good practical significance.”

“Sooo…what did we learn…?” They scooted closer to Qi, putting their head on his shoulder.

They couldn’t see his face, but they could hear the grimace on it deepening. “…That a regular, 8 hour sleep schedule is indeed beneficial for productivity.” He sighed. “You planned this, didn’t you?”

The builder laughed. “Well, technically you gave me the idea. So thanks for that.”

“Wait, when did I…?”

“It was a long time ago. When you showed me the star maps for the first time?”

“That long ago? Hm. Impressive that you remembered.”

“I mean…” The builder picked their head up to meet his eyes again. “I…was worried. That’s why I remember it so well.”

Qi was silent, staring back at them with faint surprise.

“At the end of the day…I just don’t want you to hurt yourself,” the builder murmured, reaching out and giving Qi’s hand a squeeze. “If doing some science helps me help you, then I’ll gladly do it.”

Qi averted his eyes, looking out towards the horizon. “I see,” he said finally. He was silent for a few more moments before murmuring, “This experiment has certainly…given me some things to think about.”

“All part of the learning process,” the builder said warmly.

A light smile tugged at Qi’s lips. “Indeed. All part of the scientific process.”

Kimono no Onna (MadaSaku) Shangri-La (MadaSaku, IzuSaku/KakaSaku) The Art of Dating a Rich Man (TAoDaRM) (HashiSaku, MadaSaku/IzuSaku... TobiSaku)

/moor: I've taken this to heart and am currently plugging away at "Shangri-La". I am going to work on the above fics, along with the final chapter of "Pop the Top", to try and move them as far forward this year as I can. There's a good chance "Shangri-La" and "Pop" will be completed, along with *possibly" "Kimono no Onna", if I pull hard. No guarantees for “TAoDaRM”, but I’ll try and crank out two chapters this year, if possible. We’ll see how close we get to the end from there. ;) Thank you for helping me prioritize!

What do you wish moor would write more of?

i guess more akatsaku fics? i've been lowkey wanting a comeback era of akatsaku fics like back in the days While I love moor and her writing, I have a soft spot for her UchiSaku fics in particular. Historical AU/ japanese lore MadaSaku and KakaSaku, i'm a big fan. MinaSaku please 😅 but generally stories where prospective partners of Sakura are somewhat possessive and experience jealousy over other interested males 😅 Mada/Saku happinesses. There's always drama plots, I would like for them to have a happy ending for once! DILFs. Of all shapes and sizes. Comedy

/moor: Dude, for the AkatSaku fics, I'm with you. I've been wanting a renaissance of those fics, too. (Then again, I've also been wanting to indulge in more dark!fic writing where I could explore some of that, and comedy, to have fun with it again.) I wasn't confident in my writing (fanfic for one thing, but Naruto-fanfic) back when those fics were popular (pre-2010s or so?), unfortunately. ^^; Fingers crossed we can have a few little one-shots this year that get to dive into those days. /moor: UchiSaku: My luv, I'll never part from UchiSaku. My ADHD/hyperfixations don't allow me to give up some things, and dark haired brooding men are here to stay. /moor: Historical AU/Japanese lore: Ooooooooh, I wonder what I could do with this, maybe in a one-shot... I loved writing the "Tengu" fic... Let me see what Ghibli-ish notions cross my plot notebook as I ruminate on this a bit. /moor: MadaSaku and KakaSaku: Mmmm.... favs of mine, too. I admit, I stopped writing as much KakaSaku very specifically because they were my most frequently plagiarised fics. I spent most of last year's writing time (literally, weeks and months from January through early autumn) taking down plagiarised fics and fic-scrapers. It killed my will to write and is the main reason there were so few updates last year. I have nearly a dozen KakaSaku WIPs that will likely never see the light of day because of how certain I am they'll be plagiarised (again). HOWEVER, I am participating in a few fic exchanges this year and am currently working on several KakaSaku one-shot gift-fics, so those WILL be published probably by the end of March 2023. If you're on my Fic Update Notification List, I'll be sending out a link when they're ready! (And there will definitely be more MadaSaku.) /moor: MinaSaku: I want more, too. I have some plans for this pairing—Likely won't be available until 2024-ish, but yes, they're coming along. ;) /moor: Possessive of Sakura-fics: YES. More coming, and definitely in 2023. "Shangri-La" and "Kimono no Onna" in particular, but more beyond that, too. /moor: MadaSaku Happiness: I promise that there is definitely at least 1 MadaSaku fic I'm currently writing that will have a very, very happy MadaSaku ending. I'll see what I can do beyond that. (Maybe a comedy one-shot or two?) /moor: DILFS of all shapes/sizes: I see what you did there, and it had me laughing. Fine. Yes. More coming. /moor: Comedy: YES. What do you think moor's biggest writing problem/challenge is? (delays between updates? low-quality updates? poor organization? poor writing? skipping between ideas for stories? inconsistent updates? inconsistent story writing? moor not keeping promises/meeting expectations? etc.)

I think that we are lucky you share your stories at all, but if I had to pick something it would be that you have too many WIP open at a time. Since all the updates that come out are meaty and high-quality, I don't mind the wait at all. One thing I struggle with trying to find a specific fic from Moor if it's been a while since I've read it. There are a lot of platforms and posts to check and sometimes I fail to find what I'm looking for. Maybe a sort of index page/masterlist of the fics and their location could help in case it's a common issue? (I suck at bookmarking and lose fics all the time which is a me problem, so feel free to ignore this wish and sorry if I'm being unkind/selfish :)). Delays with updates. Your quality is immaculate and I cannot emphasize enough how much I love your fics!!!111oneoneone ❤️🔥 if I could have one wish it would be more frequent updates, or maybe some update schedule? but I know that’s hard so I’m happy with what we currently have esp when it comes to my absolute fav, Forest Fire ❤️ I have no problem with your writing and I think you keep your readers updated enough. If I were to be extremely nitpicky, maybe have progress reports on fics?

/moor: Too many WIP: You're 100% correct, and I have no excuse, I'm sorry. /moor: Masterlist: This was an excellent point and I took it to heart. The Masterlist is available now and updated when I post each fic and update. :) /moor: More Frequent Updates/Update Schedule: I'm currently trying to update more frequently to close out a few fics; I'm not sure I'm able to be consistent enough for an actual update schedule, unfortunately, and I'm sorry. My real/non-fandom life doesn't lend itself to consistency. /moor: Forest Fire: Some know this after following me for (literally) years, Forest Fire is one of my precious babies. One of my fics that I worked hardest on. Huge portions of FFIII are written; however, it's one fic wherein I refuse to compromise my writing. My goal is to (someday) have it fully written so that I can post regular updates for it again, as I did for FF II. Possibly monthly, or even bi-weekly, updates, to keep the story flowing without suffering from huge gaps of time between posts. I apologize, I don't have a timeline for when that will be possible. /moor: Progress Reports: This is possibly feasible. Let me think about this. Do you have any recommendations for what form you'd like this in? Like, a webpage where I indicate how close a chapter is to completion, or a spreadsheet wherein I write at what stage each chapter or fic is?

How did you decide on your name? How do you think your personal experiences have informed your stories, if at all? What is a trope you would never write because it doesn't appeal to you? Alternatively, is there a trope/plot you are dying to write but you're afraid you won't do it justice? /moor: My name is a variation on part of my first name. Many/most of my stories are based on personal experience in one way or another. :) A trope I could never write would be... hmmmm... Constant suffering, I think. Particularly children suffering and abuse. A trope/plot I would love to write but am afraid I would never do justice... hmmm... (You ask good questions, they have me thinking). Kindness. Or a story where the protagonists don't come out on top; I like seeing people win and overcome their challenges, but that isn't always a mature outlook, as we in reality must often learn to live and accept that we won't win all our battles, at least not in the way we'd like. I struggle with accepting that, so it's something that I wouldn't write in my fics often/well because it grates on me. : )

When will you update kimono no onna? Its so good and no pressure just really curious and eager for more😅 /moor: I squeezed in an extra update for you over the holidays! :) There will be more coming later this year. We're closing in on a major plot point.

Do you feel your interest is increasing/decreasing for Naruto and therefore your fanfiction? /moor: Hmmm... I don't know if I'd say 'interest' as much as 'patience'. I find myself reading comments or commentary from readers who sound too young to be reading my work, and that frustrates me. I also am tired of dealing with plagiarism, assholes reporting me to AO3 for bullshit reasons and having to deal with the AO3 staff who have deleted some of my stories, and individuals who convey an insufferable amount of entitlement towards authors. I am very fortunate to have the engagement I do with so many wonderful friends, readers, and writers. I struggle with my patience for dealing with the BS that sometimes accompanies writing for a popular fandom. It’s one of the reasons I am (100% seriously) looking into how to create and run my own fanfic/creative outlet website.

Do you listen to anything when you write? /moor: Constantly. :) I have many different playlists. Some for specific chapters of a fic, some for a fic in its entirety. Most are in my Spotify! :)

Do you have any suggestions or other comments for moor? (can be about anything on this survey or otherwise)

i adore your works, wips, snippets and crumbs! i know life gets in the way quite often, so i hope you never feel too bad about not being able to update or anything! you and your health always comes first! Moor, you and a handful of other writers on Tumblr have kept me going. There were days where all I would look forward to were posts (not even fics/updates) and reblogs. Thank you for continuing to write :) Thank you so much for your time and work that put in your writing! There something i really look forward to and you are seriously talented and amazing! Just excited about the possible subscription to your works in Patreon :) hopefully Patreon and not Ko-Fi 😅 just because i already follow a few artists there. Easier for me to pay as a whole in 1 app. Haha! But this is just my take. If you'll be picking Ko-Fi, i would absolutely still subscribe to your account! 😊 Thank you for your time and effort. /moor: Thank you very, very much. <3 I’m sharing your comments above so other authors can read them, too, and are recognized and appreciated for how much their efforts mean. :) Some of you know that a few years ago I was fortunate enough to beat cancer, which took a toll on me. Most recently in the past year (actually, the last six months), the car accident, memory failure, medication complications and then the subsequent multiple heart attacks have also slowed me down, to the point where I'm now on Long Term Disability (LTD) from work, until we can sort out what's happening to my insides (And no, I'm not "that" old, I'm 41). It's been a battle, and I know I repeat myself here, but I can't express enough how much it means to have my real life falling down at times and yet be able to see a kind comment or compliment on a fic. It reminds me yes I can still do something right even if I can't do everything I wish I could.

I'll keep the updates coming and I look forward to hearing what you think of them. <3
