#purpose of life
Quote
I leave Sisyphus at the foot of the mountain! One always finds one's burden again. But Sisyphus teaches the higher fidelity that negates the gods and raises rocks. He too concludes that all is well. This universe henceforth without a master seems to him neither sterile nor futile. Each atom of that stone, each mineral flake of that night-filled mountain, in itself forms a world. The struggle itself toward the heights is enough to fill a man's heart. One must imagine Sisyphus happy.
from The Myth of Sisyphus by Albert Camus

“We are the custodians of life’s meaning. We long for a parent to care for us, to forgive us our errors, to save us from our childish mistakes. But knowledge is preferable to ignorance. Better by far to embrace the hard truth than a reassuring fable.” -- Carl Sagan

The purpose of life, as far as I can tell, is to find a mode of being that’s so meaningful that the fact that life is suffering is no longer relevant.

Astro observation
Your North Node is commonly known as your Life Purpose. Your North Node represents what you are not yet so good at, what you are here to develop and grow.
Therefore, the purpose of your life is literally to advance, develop and grow, in whichever ways you need to and you are not yet so good at.
That is the purpose of your life here on Earth at this time.

“Bless you prison, bless you for being in my life. For there, lying upon the rotting prison straw, I came to realize that the object of life is not prosperity as we are made to believe, but the maturity of the human soul.”

Ignorance stands as the gravest sin, for it blinds us from comprehending life's essence. Conversely, wisdom reigns as the supreme virtue, enlightening us with the profound understanding of life's purpose and the existence of its Creator. True wisdom lies in recognizing that we are not insignificant beings, but rather inseparable from the Divine, forging an indivisible unity with Him.

"What is my purpose in life?" I asked the void.
"What if I told you that you fulfilled it when you took an extra hour to talk to that kid about his life?" Said the voice.
"Or when you paid for that young couple in the resturant? Or when you saved that dog in traffic? Or when you tied your father's shoes for him?"
"Your problem is that you equate your purpose with goal-based achievement. The Universe isn't interested in your achievements.. just your heart. When you choose to act out of kindness, compassion and love, you are already aligned with your true purpose. No need to look any further!"

"If a God exists then life becomes meaningless. The individual's desire to fuse their own purpose in life is replaced with a draconian purpose, one at which one can see no appeal for reformation. The individual is nothing more than a drone that is given a set of ideals to live by, and if that drone does not adhere to those initial ideals then they are thus banished to eternal damnation after they die." -- Anthony Avice Du Buisson
If we don't get to decide our own purpose, and instead have an externally selected, divinely imposed purpose, one we can't ever actually know, then how do we have "free will"?

Everyone tells us to "live strong" or "overcome it and do our best," but what is the purpose of "doing our best" in life?
Without knowing and without thinking about it, isn't it empty or strange to live one's life thinking, "I have to live strong," "I don't want to lose to that guy," or "I want to live a better life than them."
Reflect on this.
