Nice to meet you ! by Regina

Here is one of several Arabian foals I met at Marbach. It's always a delight to see them but taking photos wasn't easy this time as they were on a pasture with very long grass in which the foals almost disappeared. :)

It was my mom's birthday yesterday and to surprise her I dedicated the day to reading her favorite novel, Pride and Prejudice, and writing down my thoughts as I read for her to look at once I finished; I don't think it's personally my thing but I'm glad I did so anyway and I now have a better understanding of something she loves.
Anyway Mr. Darcy seems like he'd be a Border Collie and I can't explain why.

Can wild actually control his two tails or are they just kinda floating around?
Yes he can!
One bird that instantly comes to mind when I think of this reference is the Marvelous Spatuletail, a hummingbird from Peru. The male can move each one independently and tail length even varies with age. You can see here that, while at rest, they tend to cross these wire-like feathers over one another.
While Wild may not have the fully capable control that a tail would give you, his own tendril-like feathers are attached to some muscles just under his wings, so he can at a minimum lift them away from the ground and tilt them to give him a capable rudder in flight.

Young and Proud by Regina

This is another one of the Arabian foals at Marbach. One thing I love about the foals is that (unlike their mothers) they aren't only interested in grass, grass and more grass. Instead they love to pose for photos too. :)
