Bring back posers as a term please I'm begging if ONE MORE GODDAMN 16 YEAR OLD ASKS WHERE I BOUGHT MY CLOTHES I'M GONNA LOSE. MY FUCKING. MIND.
I HAVEN'T PAID FOR SHIT SINCE 2020 BITCH THESE SPIKES ARE THE BROKEN OFF TINES OF A FORK THE THREAD IS DENTAL FLOSS FROM A PAIR OF JEANS I TOOK APART TO USE THE DENIM TO MAKE PATCHES YEAH NO SHIT I SMELL LIKE SILVER SPRAY PAINT. I'VE HAD THE SAME PAIR OF COMBAT BOOTS FOR SIX FUCKIN YEARS NOW. DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY LAYERS OF PAINT AND NAIL POLISH ARE ON THEM. MY WHEELCHAIR GLOVES ARE MORE THREAD THAN LEATHER ATP BUT WHO GIVES A FUCK. THEY'RE STILL FUNCTIONAL.

if you’re looking for a cool new punk band to listen to, i highly recommend looking for local small bands before searching “punk” into spotify.
don’t know how to find them?
what i did is i looked up what some punk bars in my area, i started going on random nights and found bands i liked that way. (if you’re under 21, you can still look up the bars, but go to their instagram, see what bands are playing and see if they are on band camp, spotify, etc.)
this has worked amazing for me, i’ve made so many friends, it’s to the point where certain bands shows feel like monthly family reunions full of so much love and genuine compassion.
hope this helps anyone wanting to be more involved in the subculture
EDIT: if you live in a small town, just search the nearest big city. or honestly any city that you vibe with. every area has a slightly different sound and scene find what you blend with!!

The reason a lot of punks don't associate themselves with punk is becose of all of those ,,punks" that see punk as just music and close and are mean and sadistic towards normies. First punk is a political movement before anything else second people who dress basic and listen to popular pop artist are just as human as everyone and we should be nice to them and everyone else and if you don't think that sorry but you are a poser.

To the internet "punk" elitists:
Let's stop arguing about what's punk and what isn't and just be ourselves.
THAT'S the truest form of punk rock.
The scene has changed so much since the 70s, becoming needlessly strict and gatekeeping. It begs the question: has the definition of the scene itself changed over the years or have the types of people in it changed? My vote is the second. There's so many bigoted arguments and extremist definitions that I'm not even sure if there IS a true definition anymore unless we stick with the ogs.
Point is, just be yourself. Listen to the music, rebel, have firm beliefs and stop giving a damn. You'll be a punk ass in my book.
Welcome to the fam.

Sure you say you want to date a punk guy and are always talking about how hot and boyfriend/husband material we are.But would you date a black punk man without being weird about his race or an autistic punk dude without putting him down. Are you including fat and/or physically disabled punks when you talk like that.Do you think you could be a good partner to those of us who're trans,be we femme or butch or inbetween or something else entierly. Are you nice to kids and older folks.Do you want to do activism and fight corruption with us.Would you actually enjoy even just participating in the more lighthearted and 'fun' parts of our culture with us like our music and fashion and inside jokes. You wanna date a punk guy or you want a d*ddy d*m who looks edgy and calls himself a revolutionary with no basis?

I'm punk in a way where I have a need to create and a sadness for things destroyed.
I enjoy the creative destruction that is associated with punk, as a concept, but I could never get into it actively. What I'm here for, on the other hand, is the creation that comes after/with it !!! Yes, get them FUCKERS RUINED !!! Show your rage, fuck up the public infrastructure, make people uncomfortable !!! And I'll be here to make something new grow out of it, I'll be here to support you, and the new of tomorrow, I'll be here to help create something beautiful for you to enjoy... it's hard work and you deserve it !!! WE, we deserve it :)
I feel a bit self-conscious about my sadness towards things destroyed (in any form), so this post is my creative power of creating a new hope from the destroyed confidence !!! And I hope you all, who feel similar could see, just how important that power your have is, and how needed it is !!! I like to believe that there is many flavors of punk, and that that's a good thing ! We need many different kinds of people in the community, and everyone is an important member !!!
Now go forth, cuss out a bigot, give money to the poor !!! We've all got something to contribute :)

Punk PSA: Being a TERF is some of the most un-punk shit ever. Punk rock culture is about rebelling against the status quo, conformity, and the corrupt people in power. TERFs just lick boots and call it feminism. That’s not feminist OR punk at all.

I love your blog so much, was just wondering if you having any tips for stealing and diy? (Since you’ve mentioned it before)
I would never ever advertise stealing. Ever. That's illegal and could get you arrested.
If somebody were to wear bigger, baggier clothing when they went shopping somewhere, especially vulnerable big corporations, and knew that most items wouldn't beep while going through the security stands unless they had a security tag because those things don't read barcodes, then in all honesty I'd probably have to report you to the police since I am, after all, a dutiful citizen. If you, as the consumer, put something in the bottom of your shopping cart/bag/basket and forgot to scan it while purchasing other, cheaper items, then I would encourage you to do the right thing and go back so you can pay for the item like a good citizen. Obviously, people in wheelchairs could never steal, but we do occasionally put something on our lap or under our legs and forget about it as we leave the store. We always turn around and put that item back though, because as I said earlier. Stealing from big corporations is illegal.
Anyways, as for DIYing, the biggest advice I can give there is keep old clothing and tear it apart for patch material. I've made dozens of patches out of one leg of a pair of old jeans and I still have enough material to make hundreds more. There is no right or wrong way of doing diy, use paint markers, use sharpies, use acrylic paint, use fabric paint. You can make fabric paint by mixing acrylic paint and acrylic fabric medium (Which you can acquire through legal means at a Hobby Lobby because they don't believe in barcodes there.) You can also get studs/spikes from most craft stores if you go to the sewing section and/or the leathercraft section. Same things with eyelets and grommets. If you wanna sew patches on, use dental floss or embroidery floss or thread you got from disassembling clothes for material. Basically use whatever you can. Keep soda tabs and sew them on everything. Find shiny shit in dumpsters and use that. Make your own band t-shirts with stencils made of parchment paper.
Peace and love on planet punk rock unless you're a nazi or a cop!!

so you’re finally going to your first punk show. it can be a little intimating for sure! here is what i tell my newbie friends when i take them to their first show:
1. take it at your own pace. start the show at the back of the crowd, if you’re vibing and feel the need to jump around get closer to the mosh
2. the mosh is a lot less scary than it looks. it really is a bunch of people just wanting to move around. There are times where it can get violent. if you feel overwhelmed at all just push (don’t feel bad, you might even need to shove a little, nobody will care) your way through the crowd that is encircling the mosh.
3. if you see someone on the ground in a mosh, PICK THEM UP!!!! not only to keep them safe but for your own safety as well, moshing can get a little disorienting (especially if you are drinking or smoking) so you might not even see them. along with this if you see someone’s personal item, try your best to pick it up and hold it in the air. Essentially, if something or someone could get damaged, help them out.
4. a lot of the people there look really intimidating and cool. yes they are cool as fuck, but they are some of the nicest people on this earth right now. Talk to a stranger. some of the kindest people i’ve met and become friends with i met at shows.
5. don’t be afraid to be yourself. don’t feel like you match the “punk aesthetic” you see on tumblr tiktok and pinterest? who give a fuck!! the most punk think you can do is be yourself. if you fake who you are people will notice.
reblog with more tips!!!!

Another community post:
I love Loungefly style bags, specifically ones that are really stiff, like made of faux leather (even though I’m against faux leather as a concept). I mean, look at this:
Tumblr media
This is my bag completely empty.
Tumblr media
This is my bag full of stuff I got from Hobby Lobby!
It’s like you can’t see a difference! My bag looks exactly the same as when I walked into the store as when I walked out.
Anyway, just thought I would share that neat little observation.
