I always had this thought that part of the reason Natsu doesn’t talk about Zeref or his parents after Alvarez is in part because he knows if he thinks too hard about what Zeref did to bring him ‘back’. All the experiments and the implications, he’ll just have a nervous breakdown.

One of the (many) things that ticked me off about about the END plot point amounting to zilch is that it had literally zero emotional relevancy to Natsu after the revelation.

His whole life got turned around!

You have a living relative who did unspeakable things to get you back! Literally reshaped the course of the world with his research all for the sake of bringing you back!

Said living relative also had so much evil done in his name that a lot of the bad stuff that happened to your friends stems from him! How are you supposed to even feel about that!

You have parents apart from Igneel that you never even thought about! You remember nothing about them but now you know they exist!

There's a whole ass childhood there in his head with people he doesn't really know that he's remembering! Even though he's never remembered these things before and its weird!

Where is the emotion!!!!!!

The conflict!!!!!!

The thoughts!!!!!

The weird feelings towards oneself because you arent who you thought you were!!!!

WHERE IS IT!!!!!

(I mean there's also the fact that no one apart from him actually knows all this new information about him regardin his og parents and zeref -well im pretty sure happy knows about zeref since he was there for the encounter but most lthers wont know that- and since he's a clam when he talks about himself he'd never willingly just up and offer this info but STILL-)
