NaPoWriMo #5: A poem inspired by a specific public-domain nature book
In this case, the section about the infinite variety of microorganisms.
Song of the Microorganisms
Praise the Lord, all you single-celled creatures!
You bacteria and algae
You diatoms and fungi
Praise Him who brings you sun and sugars to feast upon
Who makes waters and thermal vents for your homes
He whose majesty is infinite
Crafts and cares for creatures infinitely small
Ever-generating life, the unseen throng
Praise Him in endless, invisible song
Psalm 100:1-5 (NIV). “Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.”
Such a beautiful picture. That's you Friend. Jesus holds your hand and walks with you. You are a precious child of God. Amen! 🙏🕊️🙌
okay but a thing i think about every time we have one of those few day periods where the weather is not fit for even a dog being outside is how the hell are homeless people surviving this. like i said in a previous post it's currently -40 degrees with the windchill and i honestly cannot imagine how someone who does not have a place to go inside and spend the night is supposed to not freeze to death. it makes me upset every time the temperature drops like this, i cannot imagine how many homeless people will be frozen to death in the next 24 hours if they somehow haven't already. the fact that there are hundreds of empty houses sitting there empty with totally functional heating while people are DYING from the cold on a street corner makes me SO FUCKING ANGRY while at the same time my heart is breaking in pieces for them. rest in peace to every poor person who will not make it through the weekend. i am so sorry.
Psalm 88:1-2 (NKJV) -
O LORD, God of my salvation,
I have cried out day and night before You.
Let my prayer come before You;
Incline Your ear to my cry.
A very important message from an IDF soldier in Gaza.
He is asking for everyone to pray for the soldiers there, to put in a big effort as prayers are powerful. We as Jews rely on prayer and action, not just one or the other.
We pray to be successful and for Hashem to guide and protect us but we need to take action by going to war to defend our country. There is no distinction between the 2 things, they go together.
If you don't generally pray then at least say Tehillim (Psalms). Forget what you think you know about prayers and just trust me that prayers are part of our power, you have nothing to lose in taking the time to say these for your brothers in Gaza giving their lives to defend Israel so you can live here.
You can recite the following numbers from Tehillim in this order:
How long, exalted ones,
will my honor be insulted?
How long will you love
what is worthless
and pursue a lie?
Know that the LORD
has set apart
the faithful for himself;
the LORD will hear when I call
to him.
Be angry and do not sin;
on your bed, reflect
in your heart and be still.

The fullness of the earth is yours O Lady; You O Mother will reign forever.

Psalm 91:4 (NLT). “He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.”
Psalm 91:1-4 (GNT). “Whoever goes to the Lord for safety, whoever remains under the protection of the Almighty, can say to him, “You are my defender and protector. You are my God; in you I trust.” He will keep you safe from all hidden dangers and from all deadly diseases. He will cover you with his wings; you will be safe in his care; his faithfulness will protect and defend you.”
9 Be merciful to me, Lord, for I am in distress;
my eyes grow weak with sorrow,
my soul and body with grief.
10 My life is consumed by anguish
and my years by groaning;
my strength fails because of my affliction,
and my bones grow weak.
11 Because of all my enemies,
I am the utter contempt of my neighbors
and an object of dread to my closest friends—
those who see me on the street flee from me.
12 I am forgotten as though I were dead;
I have become like broken pottery.
13 For I hear many whispering,
“Terror on every side!”
They conspire against me
and plot to take my life.
