------------
You knew this was the fight you’d never discussed. The one every member of your unconventional, superhero family dreaded, but would never shy away from. The one you would likely never come back from.
You knew it, they knew it.
Tony Stark, as macabre as ever, knew it too. As such, he had begun to fashion a failsafe after the Avengers became aware of Thanos’ plot to wipe out half of all life on Earth.
The plan, he announced, was poison. A small cyanide pill handed to everyone before the mission, which could be voluntarily taken in the event of the team’s loss.
The method of demise had Tony’s dramatic flare written all over it.
“Don’t worry if your heart stops beating or your skin turns yellow or something,” the billionaire chuckled tensely. “That is kind of the point after all...”
Peter sat beside you looking sick, as though he’d already taken the pill.
‘Barely 16 and he’s already seen so much pain,’ you thought to yourself. To make matters worse, he was now being asked to face the high likelihood of his own death, through one form or another.
Barely a word was spoken for the rest of the meeting, save for Nick Fury and Steve Rogers who were unyielding in their spew of battle strategies. Silence echoed through the glass walls of the conference room as the meeting came to a close.
Everyone considered the finality of what was to come, only a few accepted it full heartedly.
This club was almost exclusively made of up those either frozen in ice or whom had become government experiments 70 years ago. However, Dr. Banner’s willingness to lay down his life for the good of humanity was the exception to this.
One by one, the team filed out of the room. Clint took Natasha’s hand in his own and questioned whether by the end of the mission, his children would be living with their Russian super-spy godmother.
You resisted the urge to grit your teeth as you heard the Falcon shuffle his way out of the room, a habit you two had bickered about many-a time.  With a gentle massage of your temples, you decided you had bigger things to worry about than Sam Wilson lifting his feet to walk.
As your eyes were closed, you missed Tony rising from his chair opposite you, and instead only heard the faint sound of popping knees. His cologne filled your nose and you allowed yourself to let down your guard a little. Tony was family after all.
Not in the traditional sense. You hadn’t assigned him a role and pretended that he’d held it all your life, and it wasn’t like he was the only family you had. Your home life was actually pretty normal, but you knew protecting those you loved meant removing yourself from their lives a little more. There wasn’t a day that went by where you didn’t feel guilt over that decision. However the guilt you would feel for not joining the team, would have vastly overweighed that any day.
Tony Stark simply held an honorary position in your family, not an offical one. Despite having a few years on you, he was your best friend and felt more like a brother than a boss. You trusted him with your life and he trusted you with his.
A warm hand on your knee prompted you to open your eyes, and as they met those of the man in front of you, it conveyed everything that needed to be said.
“Just promise me that if I tell you to do something, you will. I can’t…I can’t let you go like that, at his hand.”
Taking his hand in yours, you confirmed his request.
“I’m so sorry you’re in this mess,” he whispered to you.
“Tony, there’s nowhere I’d rather be.”
“You’re too good for this team, Y/N. Too good for me.”
The battle raged around you and keeping track of everyone proved nearly impossible. Anyone you could had joined this fight. The Avengers were fighting on a scale unlike any you’d seen before- in both numbers and heart.
No one was about to let this be the final battle.
You had quickly worked out that you were better off as a defence, letting a few people lead the charge against Thanos and instead fighting from the middle of the pack.
A head wound you’d sustained earlier refused to stop dripping blood down your face, you tasted it's metallic flavour on your tongue.
The comms were effectively useless as each member of the team barked orders or information over each other, creating a jumble of indistinguishable voices.
You had no idea where anyone was or whether you were winning.
God, you hoped you were.
You were following through on a kick to the enemy when your eyes spotted the God of Thunder charging towards Thanos in the distance. Bracing your knees, you prepared to sprint towards your ally, doing whatever you could to help.
A hand on your shoulder caused you to turn around quickly, weapon drawn and ready to strike.
Your eyes met Tony’s as you spun, his hand blocking the attack.
In that moment, it seemed like time had stopped, despite the noise. Staring into his eyes, not a word was spoken.
Tony’s suit was falling off in pieces, leaving him exposed, burnt and bleeding, but you knew you didn’t look much better yourself.
Concern and desperation was carved deep in his face. He knew he was going to lose you, one way or another.
Abruptly snapping back to reality, you remembered you had a job to do.
“TONY! THEY'RE GETTING AWAY!”
“Let them!” He shouted back at you.
“WHAT?! ARE YOU INSANE?! TONY WE-“
“Y/N, let them.”
“I don’t understand.”
“Y/N, listen to me. It’s over, we’ve lost. I don’t know how much time we have left but I need to make sure you get out of this thing safely.”
Your heart sunk as you looked around you, noticing that despite the extent of the attack, Thanos still had greater numbers.
He was right. It was hopeless.
“Tony, I-”
“Do you have the pill?”
“Tony, please…”
“FUCK, Y/N, WE DON'T HAVE TIME! DO YOU HAVE THE PILL?!”
“YES!” You yelled back to him, showing him for proof.
Tears were now freely flowing down his face and it was only in that moment that the gravity of what was about to happen really hit you.
You were going to die.
“I’m so sorry I couldn’t protect you. Please, just let me help you with this so I know you’ll be far away from this mess…”
You nodded, there was nothing else either of you could do.
Tony wiped the now dried blood from your face and looked at you, as though he was trying to commit your face to memory.
An uproar of desperate screams engulfed you ears and you knew Thanos had the stones, your quick glance only confirmed it.
It was too late.
“Hold my hand...please?” Your best friend, the man you viewed as a brother, asked you tearily. Of course, you took his right hand in your left and smiled as much as you could, trying to ease his nerves. There was no point, you were both terrified.
Your sweat was slowly dissolving the pill in your hand but you didn’t care, or notice.
“I’m so sorry,” you uttered, more tears sliding down your red, wet cheeks.
“Don’t worry about me,” Tony glanced to the purple villain, who was ready to make his move. “At least I’ll see dear old mum and dad again.”
“I love you Tony.”
You took one last look at the man, tears blurring your vision. You suddenly became very conscious of your heart beating in your ears.
-Boom-
As you closed your eyes, you felt Tony take a shaky breath beside you.
-Boom-
He squeezed your hand, his final goodbye.
-Boom-
Snap.
Nothing.
You heard nothing, saw nothing, felt nothing. Strange had told you to expect another universe, an alternate dimension, but instead there was nothing.
Cautiously, you opened your eyes.
Thanos was gone, a portal closing where he had stood.
He had wiped out half of all Earth-dwelling life and left, just like that.
Anger, sadness and hatred swelled in your gut. As a reflex, you clenched your fists tighter.
In your right, the remaining pill crumbled, powder soaked with sweat.
In your left, nothing.
Tony.
Tony was gone.
Frantically your eyes darted around you, searching.
Piles of dust floated through the air where your friends had been standing. You knew what that meant but you couldn’t sift through all those missing in a single moment. You had to find Tony.
‘He can’t have…gone,’ you realised - there was no dust.
He was there, he had to be. Logically, you knew the dust simply could have vanished sooner than some of the others, but your emotions were driving you. You had to find him.
You ran, faster than you ever had before, eyes not stopping for a minute until they found him.
Tony.
His name was on a loop in your head and your matching cries broke even your own heart when you heard them.
Others around you cried or stared. No one had ever been in a fight like this, where everyone had lost so much.
Steve stood alone, where previously Bucky stood by his side.
Rocket was screaming at Nebula, they lost everyone.
Thor stood stoically, a look of sympathy on his face, which was quickly replaced by a burning rage - something you were all feeling.
Tony. You had to find Tony.
Unexpectedly, you fell forwards, tripping on a discarded weapon. You were blind to your surroundings and all but the thing you sought.
One last strangled cry of his name left your mouth before you collapsed into guttural sobs. You had never cried like this before, and doubted you ever would again.
You should have taken the damn pill when Tony told you to.
“Y/N!”
You were hallucinating, you had to be. You knew grief could do that to a person.
“Y/N!”
Covering your ears, you continued to scream. Anything to block out his voice. He was gone, it wasn’t real.
“Y/N! Oh my god…” Tony fell beside you, pulling you into his chest. He pulled your hands from your face and forced your eyes into him, searching.
“Tony…”
“You didn’t take it did you?!”
Stared at him, that’s all you could do. Shock had taken over your body.
“Y/N, fucking answer me! Did you take the pill?!”
You shook your head.
Tony collapsed with you still in his arms, exhaustion and panic too much for his body to handle. You were safe, he could rest.
It would take the world 5 years to come back from the destruction Thanos brought upon Earth.
Each day you mourned your lost family and friends, all those who didn’t deserve to die.
Each day Tony was in hospital, you were with him. For the first year, he didn’t let you leave his side. He had constant tabs on everyone and you were his top priority.
His PTSD was some of the worst you’d seen as a result of the snap. But you were there for him, just as you were before, and continued to be after he saved the world.
You’d saved each other, and that was a victory you could live with.

Hi, Lisa! I’m back, with a request that is surprisingly NOT Newsies!
I would like to request a Sam Wilson x Reader, where the Reader goes on missions with Sam and has the power to heal most physical wounds, with one drawback: healing someone else’s injuries creates a scar on a random spot on the Reader’s body.
During a mission, the Reader heals a pretty bad injury dealt to Sam, and he’s fine, but the Reader winds up with a large, ugly scar right on their neck where everyone can see it. Sam and the Reader have always had kind of a quiet flirtation going on, but now Sam starts to distance himself from the Reader, because he feels super guilty for causing them such a bad scar and doesn’t want them to get hurt anymore because of him.
The Reader, on the other hand, thinks Sam is avoiding them because he’s started to be disgusted by all their scars, and this both hurts them and pisses them off. Eventually, they choose to confront Sam, and the two of them get into an argument about how it’s not Sam’s job to protect the Reader, when Sam accidentally blurts out his feelings. The Reader says that they like him back, and then there’s just sort of a fluffy apology?
Sorry, this was a really long request (😅). If you don’t want to write it or you want me to shorten it, that’s totally cool! Thanks and have an awesome day!!
- Raven 🏳️‍🌈
sorry this took so long to post! the other one will be coming in another few days :))

Sam Wilson leans up against the open door to the Avengers clinic, smiling sincerely for the first time in what feels like far too long. He knows most of his coworkers tend to stay away from this place; it’s too scrubbed clean, too austere, host to too many bad memories of when missions went a little more south than they should.
Still, he likes it. The sharp scent of antiseptic is a familiar one, and takes him back to being a kid, scrubbing kitchen counters under his mother’s eye or being in a doctor’s office of his own after skinning his knee over something he could have taken a little more slowly but never did. No, he bears no grudge against these rooms.
This is especially true because of the woman inside, the one who’s just bidding farewell to another patient. She rubs the back of her neck, grimacing over a combination of a stiff neck and the aftereffects of saving yet another life. Y/N still manages to meet Sam’s gaze with a smile, though. He’s never sure how she does it every time.
He clears his throat. “You know, most of us tend to stock up on rest before we go on a mission. I don’t think anyone else is putting in the work right now.”
Y/N laughs. “Oh, come on. You know me. I could never stay away if I thought I could do some good.”
She gestures listlessly between herself and the rest of the clinic, and Sam gives her his own quiet smile.
“I do know you.”
It’s a calm sentiment, one he’s been carefully cultivating for a month or two now. It is easy to talk to Y/N, it always has been. She reminds Sam that he’s human, that he’s able to make mistakes and still enjoy himself while he’s doing it. It’s funny that she would be the one to convince himself he’s still got a normally beating heart, because the primary reason Y/N is here at all is because she doesn’t share in Sam’s supposed humanity.
Y/N is an inhuman, one who joined the Avengers team about six months ago. She’s an active duty nurse of sorts, a genius and miracle worker whose gift is to heal any injury with nothing more than a touch of her fingers. There is, however, a catch to her powers, which is that for every wound Y/N mends, she gains a scar somewhere on her body. Many are small, but some are longer, the size of a finger or even a hand.
Most of the time, Y/N wears longer clothes to hide the multitude of scars wrapping around her body, but Sam is pleased to note that she’s started to discard this tradition. Her gift feels like the physical embodiment of something that burns in Sam as well as Y/N; helping people no matter the cost. At least in Y/N, her sacrifices are finally recognized. Why should she have to hide the evidence of all those that she has saved?
She’ll probably have to use her gifts again in the imminent future, too. The Avengers have another mission lined up, this one targeting rogue members of HYDRA that tried to disappear back when the Triskelion exploded. Most of HYDRA went back into the shadows since their exposure, but a few have dared to poke their heads out once more.
S.H.I.E.L.D. is sending a crack team of three or four Avengers to go track down the HYDRA agents and see if they can catch a larger web of enemy spies while they’re at it. Sam has thoughts about whether or not this is just S.H.I.E.L.D. forcing the Avengers to clean up S.H.I.E.L.D.’s own mess instead of doing it themselves, but that’s neither here nor there.
Regardless, he’ll be shipping out, as will Y/N, just in case. He’s been sent to collect her and also make sure she’s not overexerting herself before a mission. Sam can confirm that she is indeed overexerting herself, although he’s definitely here so he can talk to her as well. Everyone has different motivations, some of them not exactly aligned with S.H.I.E.L.D. principles of never forming friendships.
Y/N puts a couple boxes of bandages back on the shelves of the clinic, dusts off her hands, and smiles at Sam. “Alright, then. Let’s go, shall we? I’d hate to keep this mission waiting.”
Sam closes the door after her. “Can’t wait.”
The Avengers do at least get a Quinjet to ferry them over, which is nice. If Sam’s going to risk his life for someone else’s cause, he can at least do so in comfort. He takes the time to ready his wings, and by the time they’re dropping off, he’s good to go.
Sam is air support, as per usual, and remains on the Quinjet with a couple of other agents and Y/N while he waits for the signal to go in. He gets it just fifteen minutes later. Evidently, the HYDRA agents don’t want to be caught, as expected, and are running as fast as they can to their helicopters to get the hell out.
Sam nods at Y/N in goodbye, then heads towards the exit ramp of the Quinjet, which is starting to disengage, still in the sky. He jumps out, then extends the wings of his suit and starts to fly towards the dots of HYDRA aircraft starting to grow bigger with every passing second.
Sam has done many missions like this before, but it’s still a rush. There’s something about being up here, flying like he’s just another extension of the wind itself, that makes him feel unstoppable. Out here, who could bring him down? Who could possibly stand in his way?
Sam connects with the HYDRA choppers about five minutes later, ducking under the spinning blades to grab the agents inside. They stare at him, shocked, as he tosses them from the plane. They’ve got parachutes on already, which Sam sets off just before they start to fall. There’s a S.H.I.E.L.D. truck on the ground beneath him, ready to collect the agents as they come.
Already, Sam’s getting radio confirmation that the other Avengers have started to capture the descending enemy forces. He moves from one helicopter to the next, as easily as playing hopscotch. He’s done this before, and he’ll do it again. Just another day in his line of work.
It should be simple. It is simple, or Sam thinks it is until he gets rid of the last HYDRA agent and hears a strange beeping noise coming from the back of the helicopter. Confused, he starts towards it, and just has time to register a timer counting down before the entire craft explodes.
The force of it knocks Sam unconscious for a moment or two, and when he wakes up, he’s spiraling towards the ground. His wings have been hit hard, and despite Sam’s best efforts, he can’t get them to steady. None of the fail-safes are working.
The truth sets in, sudden as a thunderstorm. Sam is going down. There is nothing he can do to save himself. Distantly, he wonders if this is how Riley felt, if his former wingman had even had time to think about what had happened after he connected with the RPG. Sam is falling faster and faster. The sky, once his domain, is shuttling away from him as the ground expands behind him.
Just before he makes contact with the ground, Sam pulls himself into a controlled dive, using the battered metal of his wings to provide some sort of cover. It isn’t enough, though. He was up too high, and even without the disastrous impact, Sam knows that he isn’t going to make it out.
When he’s finally able to assess the situation, Sam knows that it’s bad. One of the metal tips of his wings broke off, and judging by a sudden rush of pain and blood, it has become lodged in his neck. This is it, then. After everything, he’s taken out by what should have been a simple mission.
It’s funny, Sam always thought that he would know when his last battle would be his last. It would feel suitably important, and he would be able to draw his final breath knowing that he gave his best. This, of course, is foolish. Every day, soldiers die over nothing, and Sam doesn’t know why he thought he’d be an exception. Always an overachiever, his sister would say. God, he wishes he could see her again, just one last time. She’ll never recover from this, not after their parents.
There’s a figure sprinting over to him, then kneeling over his body. A moment or two later, Sam recognizes it as Y/N. She takes his hand, and he tries to squeeze it back, but he can’t force the digits to move. She’s crying, Sam realizes through the fog in his head. He wants to tell her that it’s alright, but she knows the comforting lies too well that the effort would be wasted anyway.
Sam doesn’t expect her gift to work, but for some reason, instead of being engulfed by the wracking pain in his body, Sam feels himself swept away by the tide of something different. It feels like he’s bathed in electricity, a sparking wave of sensation crackling over him. The metal chunk falls away from his throat, and he can practically feel the skin and bones reknitting. He’s never had an injury this bad, and he’s never had a healing like this before. It’s astounding.
Sam sits up slowly, unable to believe that he’s still alive. “You saved me.”
Y/N chuckles, although she looks exhausted. “It’s kind of my job, Wilson. Just make sure it doesn’t happen again, alright?”
“I can’t thank you enough,” he says, although Sam’s astounded smile is already starting to fall away from his face. Before his own undeserving eyes, he can see a large scar blossoming to life across Y/N’s throat, right where Sam’s own injury had been. It’s far bigger and far worse than any of Y/N’s other scars, practically monstrous.
Sam has never minded Y/N’s scars. Not once, not ever, or so he’d told himself. This one, though? This is his fault. Sam should have left that helicopter the second he heard the beeping sound. His mistake almost cost him his life, and although Sam is obviously delighted to be alive, he can’t swallow his guilt. Healing him could have seriously hurt Y/N, and it’s already caused her this scar.
Now, forcing himself up and off of the blood soaked ground, Sam regrets it. He did this to Y/N, someone who matters so much to him. He’s hurt her, something he swore he’d never do. He’ll never forgive himself for this. So what if it’s her gift to heal people? Sam should have saved her instead of the other way around, and he failed. Nothing in this world can erase that.
. . .
You don’t think you’ve ever felt more tired. Your gift has always exhausted you, but it feels as if the days are getting harder and harder with every passing week. Of course, that could be for another reason, too; you feel more alone than ever, and it’s all due to the absence of one man: Sam Wilson.
You don’t think you’ll be so terrified as when you’d found him on the ground. Had you been even half a second later, he wouldn’t have survived. You’ve never had such a close call. If you hadn’t been able to save Sam, you don’t know that you would ever forgive yourself. This was the one healing that mattered the most, this one above all others.
Yet for all of the effort and timing, Sam seems to hate you for it. He used to stop by the clinic almost every day just to see you, and you don’t think you’ve actually had a proper conversation with him since before that ill-fated mission. You’ve seen him a couple times around the base, even sunk so low as to try and find him yourself, but every encounter ends the same way, with him walking away from you. There’s no saving this, healing powers be damned.
The worst part is the few moments that happen before Sam leaves. Every time without fail, his eyes find the scar on your throat, the new one that came when you saved him. You know it’s huge, far bigger than the others, but you didn’t think he would be as disgusted by it as he is now.
Everyone else pities you for the scars, you’ve known that since day one, but Sam has always been the blessed exception. He’s made you feel like a saint even when you don’t deserve it, but his sympathy ended the day you saved his life. During the few seconds when you see him, Sam makes you feel the weight of the scar in a way he never did before. You are able to forget about the scars when you don’t see him, but with Sam’s heavy gaze, it’s impossible to feel like you’re anything but the damaged tissue.
In all honesty, you hate it. At first, it was devastating. All you wanted was to see Sam safe, and some more charitable part of you said that this was worth it, that having him alive was worth the cost of him hating you. Your entire life is risk and reward, benefit and consequence. You can heal people, but you get the scars. You can join the Avengers, but using your gift so often keeps you feeling like you’re one bad day away from collapse. Now, you don’t have to attend another funeral, but the one man who truly matters can’t stand the sight of you.
Yes, you’re angry. How dare he treat you like this, like a broken doll whose edges used to be perfect and pristine? You have no right to the shadows, you’re just as worthy of being out in the sunlight as him. So, when you enter the training room of the Avengers facility early one morning and find the place empty of everyone but Sam, you decide that you’ve had it, once and for all.
Sam glances up when you arrive, eyes flickering automatically to the scar before he forces himself to look away. “Good morning,” he says out of necessity, although there’s no warmth behind the words.
You laugh coldly. “You wouldn’t know it,” you say, “You look like you’ve just seen a murderer in the flesh. Although I suppose that’s just your new reaction to having to be around me.”
Sam’s head flies up. “What are you talking about?” He asks, although he sounds doubtful of his own right to be surprised.
You give him a look. “You know exactly what I’m talking about. Ever since I got this scar, you’ve treated me like a monster. I mean, I suppose I should give you a round of applause for even being able to be in the same room as me for longer than a minute. I don’t think you’ve managed that in weeks.”
Sam sighs, glancing away again. “I haven’t wanted–”
You cut him off sharply. “No, don’t make excuses for it. You’ve been avoiding me. I thought you were different, Sam. I thought you were better than this.”
He shakes his head. “It’s not what you think. I’m not afraid of you, Y/N, I’m afraid of what almost happened. Saving me could have killed you, and I can’t have that happen again.”
You arch a brow. “So you’re now my protector? You don’t get to decide who I save. I wanted to save you, and I’ll do it again, even if you hate me for it.”
Sam steps forward impulsively. “Are you even listening to me? I want you alive, Y/N. I need you alive. That’s what matters most of all, and I can’t stand my own guilt because I nearly killed you on that mission.”
You let out a slow breath. “Why would your guilt possibly be that bad? No one else has this problem. So what if it gave me a bad scar, I have plenty more. What reason could you possibly have to avoid me because you feel so bad?”
Sam’s jaw clenches, but even his best efforts can’t keep the truth hidden. “I love you, alright? That’s why. I can’t stand the fact that I almost killed you because I would die to protect you. It shouldn’t be the other way around.”
He says it like it’s the bare, obvious truth, but you’re still stunned. “What?”
Sam nods slowly. “I’m sorry that I’ve been avoiding you, but I can’t stop feeling like I could have killed you. I’d never forgive myself for that if I did.”
You smile. “And I’d never forgive myself if I couldn’t save you, Sam. Risks come with our line of work. We can handle them.”
Sam reaches out and takes your hand. “Is that your way of saying that you forgive me?”
Your smile deepens. “It is.” You certainly do forgive him. All you needed to know was that he doesn’t hate you, and far from it. He loves you just as much as you love him: inconceivably, overwhelmingly, all you have ever needed and all you will need until forever.

i'll need to update ethan's bio & whatnot, but it bears mentioning on both blogs that wade & vanessa claiming that they didn't "deem it necessary" to train ethan in martial arts - despite both of them being years past TAV & SK winners - is nothing more than a smokescreen to hide ethan's genuine strength/knowledge in the sport, & to some extent, his eldritch nature.
all three of the wilsons didn't want ethan's genuine knowledge to be displayed & potentially taken advantage of by anyone, nor did ethan want to be seen as a threat, because he's tired of accidentally hurting humans who don't deserve it, & he desperately wants to learn how to STOP, because he feels like he's proving his Creators right, that he IS the monster they think he is. which is why ethan pretends to be a novice. he sells it incredibly well throughout s1-s3, like he's breathing. he doesn't try getting on the wheel - sam nor robby could match his height, anyway, so there wouldn't be that fairness. No One knows he's faking literally anything, except for my own eldritch oc's, who know him inside & out. none of them will expose his secrets, though. none of them would do that to their closest friend. this chaotic eldritch motherfucker can & will ACT his ass off when the situation calls for it. it's something he very quickly picked up from the humans he would come to live among trillions of years in the future: the art of deception. how to lie, & sell a lie well.
ethan wants to "build up" his defense in a more peaceful setting, without the pressure of ck/johnny's expectations to be the Best looming over him. it's why he joins miyagi-do over cobra kai. he wants to protect himself, the people ethan would eventually come to view as friends or lovers, & find inner peace... something johnny & certainly kreese's cobra kai didn't offer. that balance & those more peaceful teachings are missing from cobra kai, & it's not something ethan wanted to pursue for various reasons. not to mention, going straight into offensive maneuvers, & showing off his knowledge/strengths with cobra kai would have set off red flags in kreese's mind ( when he comes around ). that was something he wanted to avoid at all costs, & he did.
that pretending is the very reason why there's massive inconsistencies in his strength later on, in s4/s5 - particularly after @taughtpain / robby joins cobra kai - to his growing, almost uncontainable bloodlust in season 5 because of his near death experience at the hands of silver ( either my own npc version or @opponentcompel ), to after said bloodlust subsides with silver's arrest & ck's takedown, making him revert back to "normal".
wade & vanessa being winners of TAV/ST - & them + ethan being from that earth - is a fabrication in & of itself; ethan used of his memory manipulation ability on the entire world prior to walker!ethan creating his leo!vessel self to exist in that universe, then entered the world ck takes place in, with both of his parents in tow. he basically inserted himself & his parents into the narrative - all for reasons ethan will never explain to anyone even in his eldrtich nature reveal verse... not even to his fiancés/fiancées. that's mostly to spare them the confusion & surefire existentialism that conversation would bring.
although, what ethan told daniel upon first meeting him remains true: he doesn't want to hurt anyone, he just wants to protect himself & his friends. it's all he's ever wanted.
that's his main motivation behind every single thing he does. doesn't matter if it's good or bad, right or wrong, smart or dangerous. ex: in a fit of protective anger, singlehandedly confronting robby & the rest of cobra kai directly after he finds out that hawk's mohawk was shaved off by them. sometimes directly stepping into a fight or keeping an eye on sam during any of the miyagi-do vs. cobra kai fights. defending robby from what the valley thinks about him in aftermath of the school fight in s3. putting an arm out in front of robby & tory to push them both behind him during the miyagi-fang vs. cobra kai rumble in 5x10, then once again when silver shows up at the dojo glares at them.
it's why he directly stupidly confronted silver alone after he found out about stingray's beating, & the way robby started acting in season 4 when silver came into the fold. the No Mercy mindset of robby really fucked with his head - not to mention the betrayal ( something ethan'd never really experienced before ).
that's who ethan wilson is at his core - someone who would do ANYTHING & EVERYTHING he can in a "human" way to protect his friends & loved ones from harm, especially if they've been hurt by someone else's actions, or if he feels like they've been wronged, used or manipulated somehow.

Steven Rogers, James Barnes, and Sam Wilson sat in front of the man all in guilty silence.
He sat in front of them with hatred and rage.
"You killed my wife. You killed my son. You killed my daughter. You almost killed me. If Mr. Stark had not found me buried under a shit ton of debris I would be dead right now. But I'm just a number. A casualty. A blank face."
With each sentence this man got louder and more violent. Barnes flinched. Rogers stared at the floor. And Wilson just held in his sobs.
"I'll never get to see my kids graduate from highschool. I'll never get to see my baby girl get married. I'll never have grand kids. I'll never get to grow old with my WIFE!! Because you all think you're some perfect person who does no wrong! Who thinks it's okay that you lived and everyone else dies!"
The man's rant was cut short thanks to a violent coughing fit. Tony gently helped him through it. Tony had promised the man that he would get his justice. That his family would get justice. The man, James Morgan, only wanted one thing.
"I want to know what was so important about this murdering son of a bitch that you costed my family their lives! I want to know just why you thought you could justify killing them! Why?! What's so special about this bastard that my kids had to die?! To never grow up?!"
James coughed again. He also sobbed. He had no legs. They had been crushed by a piece of the overpass from the knee down. He was too scared to go under bridges, too traumatized. He had to quit his job as a nurse because he couldn't stand the sight of blood anymore.
"I still see my Emily's bloody face. Her eyes full of blood and tears staining her cheeks. I still see my baby girls impaled body leaned against the back of her mother's seat. I can't stand to think about my boy. Do you know what it's like to be stuck physically and hear your child scream for you? Do you? My little boy, screaming his tiny lungs out because his arm was pinned by glass and his stomach was filling with blood."
Barnes flinched and shook. Wilson was doing his best to keep from vomiting. And Rogers just stared more. James looked at the man he once admired, who his son idolized. And felt nothing but hatred.
"You talk about how 'the safest hands are your own'. When the safest hands kill the people you're supposed to protect, who protects those people from you?"
James felt the emotions drain away from him. He got to say what he wanted. And Tony had already promised that these three would never hurt anyone else like they had his wife and children. He wasn't expecting these murderers to admit their guilt. They never had in the past. He looked at Tony and nodded.
"I have nothing else to say."
He said softly and the other brunette nodded in understanding. James Morgan, now a widower, was wheeled out of the room in silence. His sobs heard the entire way by those he passed.
______
Wanda Maximoff was led into a room with two children. Twins she had been told.
Orphans.
The boy, rendered mute thanks to too much dust getting into his throat. And a girl, losing her left arm after it was burnt too badly to fix.
When the boy saw her, his eyes widened and he grabbed his sister and pushed her behind him. Moving them both to a further corner away from the red head. Maximoff tried to get closer but the little girl wailed.
"MOMMY! DADDY! Help! Someone help!"
She wailed. The boy, despite his brave front, was shaking like a leaf. The girl wailed and begged for help. When Pepper entered the room the little girl waddled over to her and begged to be picked up. Her face red with tears running down her face.
"I want my mommy!"
Her tiny lungs heaved with the force of her cries. The boy ran over and hid behind the other red head's legs. Tears of his own streaming down his face silently. Maximoff watched all of this.
"Did Stark do this?"
She only got an even louder wail as her answer. Then, two other adults entered the room. Pepper gently coaxed the wailing girl to the female. But the boy was harder to move. Whenever Maximoff would try to help, he only clung to Pepper tighter.
"Get away from Brandon! No! Stay away from my brother!"
Maximoff was stunned. The girl was trying to get down to protect her brother. From her.
The boy, Brandon, took her distraction as a chance to dart to the man behind the other woman. Hiding behind his legs and gripping his pant leg tightly. Pepper looked at Logan and Jean and the two X-Men led the children out of the room.
"The one who orphaned them was you, Miss Maximoff. The one who disabled them was you. The one who traumatized them was you. The one who found them was Tony. The one who had to keep them from looking behind them, to keep them from further trauma at the sight of their parents, was Tony."
Pepper said this with a monotone voice. She kept eye contact with Maximoff and watched as the fight left the other woman.
"You sent their home into the building next to it. It crushed their father to death. You caused both to catch fire. It burned their mother alive. They survived because Tony had heard Brandon screaming for his sister's life. She was unconscious and bleeding. Brandon will never speak again because that fire blew smoke and dust into his lungs and throat. And Maria, the little girl, won't let those two they left with out of her sight."
Pepper looked deep into the other's eyes.
"Because the red lady took her parents away."
Maximoff sobbed softly to herself. Pepper left her there without another word. When she opened the door, Maximoff was left to listen to the heartbreaking wails of little Maria.
_______
Clint Barton and Natasha Romanoff were sitting in a room silently. They had been told that they had someone that want to talk to them. When the door was opened, a woman was led into it. A teenager walked with her. Her hands were shaking violently. James Rhodes walked in with them, holding a Baby Carrier with him.
"Barton and Romanoff, this is Agatha Lopez. She is the Widow of Agent Markus Lopez. And this is his eldest son Jackson, and his youngest son Ethan."
James introduced the three. Both the spies where confused as to why this lady needed to talk to them. Did she need their help?
"What can we do for you Mrs. Lopez?"
Barton asked. The widow was still shaking too badly. So Jackson Lopez spoke.
"You worked for Shield right?"
His question was answered by twin nods. And both had to jump back when Jackson punched Barton in the face and almost hit Romanoff too. Vision entered the room and gently but firmly held him back.
"You Fucking Bastards! You killed my Dad! You Killed him! He promised to come home and you killed him! I hate you!"
Jackson got so loud and violent, it woke Ethan up. The baby wailed and it seemed to snap Jackson out of his tirade. The older boy stiffened and darted to James' other side to gently pick his brother up and rest him in his arms. Agatha was silent the whole time.
"Mrs. Lopez you need to keep your son under control."
Barton said and that got him a nasty glare from the teenager.
"Shut the fuck up. You have no right to order my Mom around after the hell she's been through. She just got out of the fucking Hospital thanks to your little info dump."
Jackson sat down and rocked his baby brother back to sleep. Vision rested a gently hand on his shoulder and it seemed to soothe the boy. The two agents were stunned. This was a victim of the info dump? They could see it now. Scars lined her neck and wrists. She was refusing to look around but her eyes laid on her two sons.
"I'm sorry, Jackie."
Was her near silent whisper. Jackson shook his head.
"Mom you don't need to apologize. It's okay. Doctors said you need rest anyway."
Jackson moved and slowly hugged his mother, careful of his little brother. Agatha carefully took her youngest and rocked him gently. Jackson turned to them again.
"You owe my family more than just a fucking apology. You made my mother a widow. And now Ethan will never get to know his dad. You almost made me and my brother orphans if Mr. Stark and Mr. Rhodes hadn't gotten there when they did."
The boy had rage in his eyes. The only thing stopping him from jumping the table was his mother. She couldn't handle the loud bang of a table being knocked over.
"Thanks to you, my mom may never handle loud noises the same without thinking it's a fucking gun shot. Cause she had to watch as my dad was shot right in front of her after he refused to snitch on your asses."
Jackson felt the anger fill him again and was thankful Mr. Vision had not let go of his shoulder. He probably would have tried to give the blonde bitch a matching black eye to the other.
"You're paying for my mom's medical bill. You're paying for my dad's funeral. And this time, Tony is not allowed to help you. He's already helped enough. Saved me and my baby brother from becoming Hydra soldiers."
Jackson stood up slowly, gently taking his mother's fragile arm and getting her to stand. He took Ethan and placed him in his Carrier. He nodded to Mr. Rhodes and guided his mother out. The Colonel followed behind him with Vision not far behind. Leaving the two Shield agents to sit in shock and horror at what could have happened if Tony hadn't been fast enough.
______
Tony gently hugged Mrs. Lopez. He guided her to sit on the couch in the common room. Jackson was getting her medicine for the pain in her arms and back. Ethan was sleeping soundly in his Carrier as little Maria watched him. Brandon was with James Morgan as the older man taught him sign language. Ever since meeting these few victims, Tony could not just leave them to suffer alone.
Mrs. Lopez's home had been burned to the ground. She had no family to go to as her parents had passed away and her husband's parents were too old to be able to take care of a baby while she was at physical therapy. Jackson still had highschool so he could only take care of his brother after he got home.
James Morgan had no legs and no job. His phobia of blood making it hard to work as a nurse or near a hospital. But he still helped the best he could. Tony was going to offer him a job as a teacher in the Avengers Initiative. Many heroes, super human or not, could learn a thing or two from him.
The twins, Maria and Brandon Simmons, had mutant powers. Maria was telepathic, though she wore a necklace her mother made that helped block it. Brandon was able to create explosions with his hands if he thought about it hard enough. But like his sister, he had a necklace that blocked it. Professor Xavier was going to send Jean Grey and Logan Howlett in one week a month to help them build their powers.
Once they were old enough he would collect them from the Tower for proper training and education. As they were only eight. Although Maria was still very against either of them leaving so soon. Since they had been there with the twins since they were found. Neither X-Men minded.
Tony wasn't sure how Jackson Lopez was mentally. He had suffered trauma at the hands of Hydra after his father's identity was leaked. The Latino boy was tense when his mother was gone for longer than he had been told. More than once Vision had been called to gently calm him down from a panic attack or raging fit. It seemed the android was the only one who calm the teenager down. Despite the former's inexperience with emotions.
"You're not gonna let em walk free are you?"
Tony looked at Jackson as he walked over. The seventeen year old was slower than the stories Agatha told him. Tony guessed it was because he didn't want to startle his mom.
"No. They'll get long sentences."
That seemed to satisfy the boy. He went on to help his mother with her medicine. Tony's attention went to James Morgan. The other man was quietly teaching sign language, his eyes fond but full of grief and sorrow. Brandon seemed to help. Maria was quietly rocking the baby in his Carrier. Cooing over how tiny he was and getting a small smile from Agatha.
Yeah, the Accords will be able to prevent things like this from ever being normal when heroes went to save the day. Tony rubbed Agatha's back. Seeing these few victims of his former team's mistakes, he couldn't help but wonder if it could have been prevented. If Maximoff never sided with Ultron, the Simmons Twins would have their parents. If Barnes had surrendered, James would have his life and his family. If Romanoff and Rogers had asked him for help, Agatha wouldn't be a widow.
Then Jackson wouldn't have to act as the man of the house. And Ethan would not have to grow up not knowing his father.
Tony promised himself and them that the Rogues would never harm another family.
He promised them they would get their justice.
He promised.

Hi, I’m the anon who messaged about Scott being a Paragon. I wanted to say thank you for your response. I’m someone who adores the characters who fit the Paragon, due to them most often being kind, gentle and powerful so that was how I viewed Scott. But you clarified something that needed.
I do think I will still slot him in with those characters, personally, not as a paragon as you did make me see the error there, but due to those shared qualities that make them my favorites.
Tumblr media
I'm a little uncomfortable with terming our difference in perspective an error, to be quite honest. While the quest for a definitive truth is the goal of all investigation, when it comes to archetypes, genre, and other literary tools, I always try to keep in mind that there are no hard and fast boundaries.* I do appreciate that I managed to be persuasive!
On the other hand, Scott McCall and the men who carry the title in the MCU of Captain America, Steve Rogers and Sam Wilson, have many things in common, so it's nowhere near an error to put them in the same category. The original purpose of this post was to underline what they had in common since the last post was about differences, but I got sidetracked in the best way.
Have you ever noticed how similar the plots of Captain America: Civil War and Teen Wolf's Season 5 were? I mean, it's quite astounding once you start identifying parallels. In order to reach nefarious goals, evil masterminds use an individual with historic ties to drive a wedge between the two primary heroes of a team dedicated to protection of the innocent, tearing the team apart by picking at their psychological and moral differences. I wonder if the Russo brothers cribbed from Jeff? I am kidding, of course. Similarities between plots are seldom because of plagiarism or a lack of creativity; they arise because of similarities in setting and in character, but they are no less creative because they bear resemblance to each other.
Scott McCall and Steve Rogers:
"They're not the bad guys. They're the victims. We shouldn't be killing the people we're supposed to save." / "If I see a situation pointed south, I can't ignore it. Sometimes I wish I could."
The most fundamental similarity between Scott McCall and Steve Rogers is the idea that true compassion requires direct action. It's easy to express compassion if it doesn't cost you anything, but Scott and Steve both understand that their moral codes demand more than just lip service. If Scott is to be "The Protector of Beacon Hills" that means he has to protect everyone in it, not just the people he likes, and that includes people like the chimeras such as Donovan Donati. Chimeras should not be punished because they had a genetic predisposition to aid the Doctors in their unholy experiments, and while Donovan was a petty criminal and a hothead who threatened the sheriff right in front of Scott, he didn't do anything that deserved execution. Similarly, if Steve is to live up to the ideas behind Captain America, he cannot let the whims of a bureaucracy that has proven itself inept and/or corrupt to Steve repeatedly in his lifetime dictate when he uses his power for the use of others. Specifically, if he is convinced that Bucky does not deserve to be made a scapegoat for the U.N. bombing, he can't allow the Sokovian Accords to tie his hands.
Stiles Stilinski and Tony Stark:
"You're the True Alpha! Guess what? All of us can't be True Alphas."/ "Sometimes I want to punch you in your perfect teeth."
Strangely enough, this is even the most powerful comparison. Both Stiles and Tony are pushed to do things that are ethically suspect because of deep set trauma. Their thinking has been clouded by events in the past that they have been unable to overcome. Stiles conceals Donovan's completely accidental death, playing into Theo's hands, because of deep seated insecurity caused by Claudia Stilinski's disease and the Nogitsune possession, neither of which he could have prevented. Stiles has no reason to think that Scott will reject him, but he's so convinced of his own negative evaluation of his nature that he justifies deceit, treachery, and violence because of it. Similarly, Tony is still smarting from the absolute disaster that his decisions wrought in Age of Ultron, even though they were inspired by history and the Scarlet Witch. Tony has already in the past refused to hand over his power to the government, but he's willing to do it now out of some misguided attempt to make up for the damage Ultron caused even though this won't really fix anything.
Theo Raeken and Baron Zemo:
"We won't tell Scott. 'Cause you can't lose your best friend, right? Even though we both know, you never needed him."/ "An empire toppled by its enemies can rise again. But one which crumbles from within? That's dead... forever."
Theo and Zemo both understand that the way forward is not through direct confrontation, which would only cause their enemies to pull together. Instead, they play on elements that remained unaddressed in the controlling relationship. For Theo, he picks at what my friend @momentofmemory called, very correctly, the Pedestal Problem. In response to Scott's rise throughout the series, the people around him have forgotten he's human as well and as a human there will be things he can't fix, but Scott's own sense of moral obligation won't let him not try. Baron Zemo understands that the superhero identity requires a distance from the system which suits the general public -- they can't protect the world without being alienated from it, and that alienation is, in itself, a weakness.
I had a great deal of fun comparing the two. I hope you appreciate my analysis.
*As an aside, allowing for a multiplicity of perspective in media analysis does not nor should ever equate with "all views are equal" You have to have evidence or at least deal with what actually existed within the media.

Belonging??? 👀👀
OKAY SO this one has been cooking in the back of my mind for a while, but I only just started writing it. It's very much a fic about grief and being haunted by the past, but in a very literal way. The basic idea is that some time travel nonsense happens and brings the Winter Soldier into the present, where a fight happens and modern-day Bucky ends up (seemingly?) dead. But in his last moments, out of desperation, he uses the trigger words and tells the Soldier to protect Sam, at all costs. So now, Sam's grappling with the loss of his partner (which also brings back a lot of complicated feelings about Riley that he never worked through) all while this former version of him that's missing just about everything that made him, him, just Will Not Leave Him Alone. And that forces him to confront the grief and trauma that he's never allowed himself to face and to learn how to lean on others for support the way he lets them lean on him.
Here's a snippet:
Their routine had become so natural, by then. Muscle memory. Moving in step without thought. Two pieces of a puzzle that fit together just right. Sam had only had that once before. And then Riley… He still couldn’t think about Riley, for too long.  Steve had come close, but it was never quite the same. They were partners, sure. Friends, absolutely. But they worked independently of one another. Two lines on parallel paths, always on the same page, always in agreement, but never overlapping. Steve never met Sarah or the boys. He never knew about Gideon. He never talked about his own life before the war, unless it concerned Bucky, and in turn, Sam never talked about his. The two of them were much alike, that way. So invested in solving other people’s problems, but determined to steer clear of their own, at any cost. Maybe they were too much alike. A real bond needed to be tested by conflict, every so often. Otherwise, it’d become too sanitized. Impersonal. Steve had been his best friend, but with each passing day since he left, it'd grown more apparent that neither of them ever really knew each other. They worked because of course they did, and they always had each other’s backs because of course they would. But that little, personal element was missing in a way that Sam didn’t notice until suddenly, he had it, and he was 28 again, with Riley’s voice in his ear, teasing that you’ve got to land softer, Wilson. I don't want to be carrying your sorry ass out of here, bridal-style. He plugged his phone into the AUX cord, and when Marvin Gaye came blasting over the truck’s tinny old speakers, he pretended not to notice that Bucky was humming along.
send me an ask with the title that most intrigues you, and i will post a little snippet or talk about it

Romance Masterlist
1796 Broadway (ao3) - rainproof, teaberryblue steve/tony, bruce/natasha M, 460k
Summary: Captain America respectfully requests that all complaints be addressed to him in writing. On paper, the nice old-fashioned way, because the computer screen hurts his eyes.
Put your phone down, Tony.
Originally written as a daily epistolary serial, September 19, 2013-September 19, 2014.
NOW COMPLETE.
Captivated (ao3) - leftennant darcy/loki E, 166k
Summary: When a failed experiment accidentally drops Darcy Lewis into the middle of Asgard, she finds herself an unwilling guest of the God of Mischief. However, as the two of them are forced to spend time together in each other's company, she begins to wonder if being his prisoner may not be so bad after all. (Of course that might just be her ladyparts talking)
Set prior to the first Thor movie, and will diverge from canon because I'm a total rebel like that.
Critical Feline Mass (ao3) - Kryptaria, zooeyscigar steve/bucky, clint/natasha T, 39k
Summary: Adjusting to civilian life is hard for any military veteran — especially for one ex-sniper with a cybernetic arm, a classic Harley, and friends who keep trying to ‘help.’ When Sam Wilson at the VA sends Sergeant Barnes to rent a room from the hottest guy in the DC area, Bucky thinks maybe civilian life is worth it after all. And then he finds out Captain Rogers is everything Bucky’s not: a real hero, a Medal of Honor recipient, and an all-around nice guy. Bucky doesn’t have a chance in hell with him.
Sam was a huge help to Steve Rogers when he left the military. In the spirit of ‘pay it forward,’ Steve decides to rent out his basement room to a vet in need. But when Sergeant Barnes shows up on his doorstep, he knows he’s in for a world of trouble. Barnes is exactly what Steve never knew he wanted, from his bedroom eyes to his wicked innuendos. And he’s Steve’s tenant.
A love story in twelve chapters, including two Harley-Davidsons, a guardian angel, multiple snipers, the only woman who can scare them into behaving themselves, spontaneous kittens, and one attacking sheep.
Dissonance (ao3) - stuckybarnes peter/wade M, 121k
Summary: (FIC HAS BEEN FULLY REVISED AND EDITED TO THIRD-PERSON POV! REVISED AS OF 6/30/21! WOO!)
Wherein Deadpool is reluctantly hired to protect Peter Parker from an organization out to hunt him, with varying success on both ends and quite a lot of feelings, revelations, and identity crises.
Don't Look Down (ao3) - NamelesslyNightlock loki/tony M, 256k
Summary: When forced to decide between the lives of Tony Stark and Iron Man, Steve Rogers chose wrong.
Tony is left to deal with the consequences, but it’s not like he’s helpless, and he certainly isn’t alone.
Even the Light is an Illusion (ao3) - Mizzy steve/tony T, 102k
Summary: Death threats are an unfortunate side-effect of being Tony Stark, so he's learned to ignore them. The problem is, when someone really wants you dead, hiding your head in the sand just kinda exposes your ass.
But it's not just Tony's behind on the line. Whoever wants him dead wants him to suffer first, and they're willing to do anything to make that happen. Tony knows there's only one way out. To save Steve, the Avengers, and the general public, Tony has to die. Of course, death isn't always the end, and Tony does what any other self-disrespecting scientist would do: he finds a way to fake his death and avenge his own murder.
The trouble is, terrible decisions usually have a terrible price, and this one is no different. Tony has a chance to save the day, but the cost may be more than Tony was ever expecting to pay…
Forms of Love (ao3) - bear_bell bucky/tony E, 33k
Summary: Months after the Avengers' dispute in Germany, the team returns to the US and moves back into the tower. As always, everyone pretends that nothing happened. Tony is just fine with this. He's used to pretending, and he'll be damned if he lets any of them see him flinch.
Tony's the bad guy, after all. He's used to it. He's fine with it. He's good at it.
Only now, there's something far worse loitering around the tower - The Winter Soldier. No one notices the guy at first, but when they do, Tony figures that he should have the soldier's back.
Birds of a feather should flock together, and the bad guys should start a book club.
I Think I Missed a Step ('Cause I'm Fallin' For You) (ao3) - mokuyoubi peter/wade, steve/bucky E, 42k
Summary: There’s a weird familiarity about the kid's tone and posture, and it’s true that Wade is pretty far from home today but he’s also certain he’d remember that baby-face if he’d seen it before. On the other hand, he has spent the better part of the past few years feeling like he’s missed a step, so this conversation isn’t exactly anything new. [[A hot guy is willingly talking to us. Go with it.]] [Don’t make an ass of yourself.] “Shaddup,” Wade grumbles, though Yellow has a point...
OR Peter thinks Wade knows his secret identity, and Wade is really confused by the hot coed who keeps popping up and hanging out with him.
Poetic Justice (ao3) - Limmet loki/tony M, 311k
Summary: When the time comes to pass sentence on Loki after the events in The Avengers, Odin decides to go for the poetic justice angle. For his attempt to enslave humanity, Loki has his magic and powers bound, and is sent back to Midgard and given over to Tony Stark to be his slave.
This was not a turn of events Tony had ever seen coming.
Eventually Tony/Loki.
Smoke Gets In Your Eyes (ao3) - SmolderingFlame steve/bucky E, 90k
Summary: Steve Rogers is the most dangerous man in Brooklyn. Bucky Barnes is the son of an abusive drunk who needs to pay off a serious gambling debt. Just so happens Steve has a thing for pretty brunettes with feisty attitudes.
Sugar Sweet (ao3) - ColorCoated steve/bucky E, 173k
Summary: College Student Bucky finds himself immediately attracted to Steve. He knows that Steve's a bit older than him, and that Steve himself is put off by the age difference. . . But that doesn't stop Bucky from wanting to climb him like a tree.
AKA a Sugar Daddy AU that no one was asking for.
Tangled Up in You (ao3) - SailorChibi tony/t’challa T, 29k
Summary: Sometimes when you meet your soulmate, it's just not the right time.
In the aftermath of everything, T'Challa sets about proving that he really does want Tony.
The Many Doors of Níu Heimar (ao3) - nixajane loki/steve M, 77k
Summary: In the weeks before Thor's coronation, Loki almost dies, not once, but twice. (An AU in which events conspire to keep Loki from the choices he made in Thor, a war is on the horizon and the chosen battlefield is Earth, and the Avengers assemble with an extra teammate and one less villain to fight).
The Winged Soul (ao3) - inukagome15 steve/tony T, 13k
Summary: It wasn't until he was three that he realized he was different and no one else could see the wings.
Waiting To Prove You're Not Alone (ao3) - heartsdesire456 steve/bucky E, 41k
Summary: Months after he woke up on the banks of the Potomac, when a reporter mistakenly assumes Steve would disapprove of homosexuality being as accepted as it is in the modern day, Steve accidentally snaps and unleashes his real opinion on the matter... and with that, a secret he's hidden for over eighty years.
When that secret comes looking for him in New York, Steve can only hope that he can get a second chance at saving his best friend, even if it means keeping his heart in check.
“Yeah, back in my day it wasn't tolerated, and because of that I knew from the minute I figured it out, that I’d never get to tell my best friend that I loved him, and sure enough, he died without knowing that I’d been in love with him for a decade."
whatever souls are made of (ao3) - atypicalsnowman tony/stephen M, 320k
Summary: Soul bonding canon divergence. Fourteen million futures and Stephen saw just one where they win. Tony has to soul bond to a virtual stranger whereas Stephen... Stephen is in love.
This is a story of how two broken men became friends, then family, then fell in love.
And saved the universe.

I have been through my fair share of shipping wars but this is just to much. I am a SarahBucky shipper and i know it's the Bucky stans because they love to trash Sam every chance they get. The last SarahBucky fic i read crossed so many lines.
1. Sam nor Sarah are Bucky's therpist.
2. They have Sam being clingy to Sarah to the point that Sarah HATES her own brother.
3. They have Bucky telling Sam that he is no longer a Wilson and that this is his family now.
4. And cass and AJ view Sam as weak, boring and not their Uncle.
I don't get the hate for Sam Wilson. The Wilson family is a beautiful family but certain people are making it about Bucky. The mistreatment needs to stop.
Hi Anon!!!
I'm sorry you had to read that, it sounds awful. But I feel you, I've read my fair share of disgusting stuff in this fandom.
1. Sam nor Sarah are Bucky's therpist.==> ugh I'm not even surprised??? Why is so hard to understand? Just treat Sam as a character
3. They have Bucky telling Sam that he is no longer a Wilson and that this is his family now.==> WTF??
I just don't understand? Why write about Sam if you don't like him you know? They could just remove him from the fic...?
Hang in there Anon!

Sam seeing John announced as Captain America while Sarah watches on in worry breaks my heart. Sarah is fidgeting, she can’t take her eyes off Sam. She knows this will crush him, even though Sam will say nothing. And Sam just closes his eyes like a 50 pound weight fell on him. He realizes how naive he was to think that shield would stay in the museum. Because of course. Of course. The journey on his face of “Did I do the right thing?” is just brb crying 😭
