Yes I display many symptoms of OCD, scored a 10 on a regular OCD test and a 14 on a Pure O test where 7+ means "very likely", have regular intrusive thoughts that I consciously try to avoid, relate particularly to morality OCD, and am triggered by the same kinds of posts (guilt trippy addendums, donation posts, internet discourse) that people with morality OCD are often triggered by. Yes, there is absolutely zero chance I have OCD and if I even *look* at websites for it that means I'm A Bad Person and I'm stealing resources from *real* OCD havers. We exist.

"Now, I really appreciate the sanctity of the moment and everything," Dell says, hoping he's not completely blowing his chance—Medic stops puckering out his lips, and looks down, and a flash of realization runs through his features. "But, uh, if you want me to do the lean-in thing you're gonna have to come down a little."

Medic pouts, then, and it's so cute but also very annoying. "Tiptoes?"

"Tried it." Tries it again, could probably peck Medic's chin if he tried, and it's close but no cigar. The new pair of boots he's breaking in painfully squeeze his heels a little. “Just bend down, really.”

Medic’s eyes glint with a little something—mischief, maybe. “… Well now it’s ruined,” he says, ���I don’t know if I want to.”

Dell’s not a hundred percent sure if this is what he’s angling for—but he knows he’s angling for something, and he feels like it’d be hard to blow his chance more than he already has, so he goes and gingerly places a hand on Medic’s collar all gentle-like—flutters his eyelashes a little, licks his lips, then fishes Medic’s tie out from where it’s tucked into his collar and pulls, hard, just about until they’re looking face-to-face.

Medic’s glasses almost go careening off his nose, but Dell does it quick and sharp enough that they just click against the bottom of his goggles and sit there hanging in the space between their noses. His breath smells a little like mint and a little like blood—sorta like the infirmary.

And he just smiles, too. Dell was hoping he’d be startled a little but beggars can’t be choosers.

“There,” Dell says, “that better?” And he closes his eyes ‘cause he knows what’s coming next, and Medic tilts his head so they aren’t bumping noses and places a hand right in the small of his back and leans in, and when they connect Dell thinks about circuits and heat and electricity—and figures there must be a few thousand volts coursing between them right now, considering the way his nerves are prickling. And when they pull away and look at each other for a second and Dell’s still got a death grip on Medic’s tie, maybe harder than earlier, and Dell goes ahead and takes his other hand and pushes his glasses back onto his nose, he swears he can see a little spark pass between his finger and the bridge.

And Medic says: “You’re quite kind, but may you please allow me to stand?”

And Dell says back, trying to be that same kind of weird-confident sheepish Doc seems so natural at: “Hold on—two seconds, I’m memorizing your face.”

“To what nefarious ends?”

“Don’t act like you’re innocent, either.”

Something feels a little poetic about the fact that Dell can feel every little exhale of Medic’s giggle blowing on his nose. “You are a fascinating man, Dell Conagher.”

“That why you kissed me?”

“I only take an opportunity when it is presented to me…”

Dell rolls his eyes, just a little, and lets go of Medic’s tie, and takes note when Medic lingers an extra few seconds before straightening back up and setting to fussing with his clothes.

Leans against the workbench, and tries not to think about it too much as the adrenaline fades. He almost lights a cigarette, then remembers who he’s standing next to. Medic’s already turned back to the workbench, combing his hair with his fingers in the not-really-that-reflective surface of the workdesk. He’s about as red as Dell feels.

“… So, uh.” He clears his throat, after a little, and his mouth still tastes a little like Medic. “What’s gonna change?”

He takes a long time to think about this. “Not much, I’d suppose. I’m sure this was where the trajectory of our relationship was going from the beginning.”

Almost as comforting as it is terrifying. “Heh, sure.”

“… But I assume that was alright with you?”

“Yeah.” He feels a little bit like it’s gonna come out feeling like a lie, and he’s relieved when it doesn’t. “Yeah, it was great.”

“Wünderbar.” Medic stalks away to the other end of the room, maybe just to add some much-needed distance for a little bit while they both sort things out. “Well, it does not have to be anything you don’t want it to be, to be clear.”

Dell clicks his tongue. “Elaborate.”

“It could just be an experiment. It could just be a series of experiments. We could be partners… we could be coworkers who kiss… mmm. Various possibilities. A number of similar yet differing definitions…”

“Are you worried about that or do you think I’m worried about that?”

“Both. Either one. I don’t think it matters.”

“… Fair enough. But honestly, I’m fine with whatever you wanna go with.”

This might be a little bit of a lie. He can’t tell.

“Perhaps, if the unspecificity is not too distressing to you, we could go for a simple ‘undefined’ and see where our various hormones lead us.”

“… Less thinking for us.”

“Exactly my pattern of thought!”
