This is a ✨modern au✨because ive never been know to draw anything else

- the dragon on her back doesnt match up with ANY dragon anatomy, and here’s the reason:

Azula got it in a fit of absolute angst after zuko was disowned and iroh opened a case against ozai. It symbolizes how she feelt like nothing was normal anymore. Even though she knows her normal was horrible and wouldn’t want to go back, she feels like everything fell though and she isn’t herself (and realizes she hasn’t been for awhile, hence the not looking like a real dragon and the missing webby parts in between) (she feels like a dragon without its wings). The reason it doesn’t match regular dragon anatomy is because she felt exposed and vulnerable, uncomfortable in her own skin.

.....zuko has a miniature version on his ankle because he wanted azula to know she wasn’t alone

- on her right arm there are dual dao and morse code underneath it. The morse code reads “thank you” as in thank you to her brother for being there for her.

- the sun on her leg and the fire on her left wrist have no meaning, she just got them

- the flower in parentheses on her right wrist represents her mother. Even though her mother wasnt there for her, its a symbol to show that she’s her mothers daughter, not her father’s
