#pro ship positivity
No.
And liking "problematic" ships doesn't mean you deserved any abuse you've been through, either.

Things that being proship DOES mean :
- Being against harassment based on what other people like / consume / ship in fiction.
- Not liking certain things and / or not shipping certain things, but keeping it to yourself.
- Understanding that fiction does not determine a person’s real-life morals.
- Knowing that fiction and reality are two different things, and that by comparing fiction and reality on a 1:1 basis is inherently wrong.
- Not endorsing problematic content / problematic things in the real world, but having the power to know that exploring such things in fiction is not a bad or harmful thing.
Things that being proship DOES NOT mean :
- Being a real life child predator.
- Endorsing all problematic content / themes in the real world.
- Grooming children ( ? )
- Shipping and / or liking all problematic ships and content.
- Being a person deserving of d**th threats, doxxing, harassment, or anything even remotely like those things.

as a survivor, and as someone who is pro-ship, i am not gross. i am not a pedophile. i am not an abuser. i am not disgusting. i do not deserve to die for enjoying what i enjoy in fiction.
this goes for all pro-shippers. you are not gross. you are not disgusting for enjoying dark fiction. write what you want to write. draw what you want to draw. you are not breaking the law.

𝓗𝓪𝓹𝓹𝔂 𝓥𝓪𝓵𝓮𝓷𝓽𝓲𝓷𝓮'𝓼 𝓓𝓪𝔂!
Tumblr media
You sigh. A generic holiday card, a candy bar, and the least expensive flowers the store could offer you are sprawled out on the ground in front of you. As your eyes scan the misfit Valentine's gifts, a sharp pang of guilt cuts through you.
Was this really all you could muster up? Was this really all your F/O was worth to you..? Anyone could have given them these things. Hot tears well up in your eyes.
"𝐻𝑜𝓌 𝓌𝒾𝓁𝓁 𝓉𝒽𝑒𝓎 𝓀𝓃𝑜𝓌 𝒽𝑜𝓌 𝓂𝓊𝒸𝒽 𝐼 𝓇𝑒𝒶𝓁𝓁𝓎 𝓁𝑜𝓋𝑒 𝓉𝒽𝑒𝓂?!" You sob, before suddenly, arms surround you in a warm, familiar embrace from behind. It's them. "𝐼 𝓀𝓃𝑜𝓌 𝒷𝑒𝒸𝒶𝓊𝓈𝑒 𝓎𝑜𝓊'𝓋𝑒 𝓉𝒶𝓊𝑔𝒽𝓉 𝓂𝑒. 𝒴𝑜𝓊'𝓋𝑒 𝓉𝒶𝓊𝑔𝒽𝓉 𝓂𝑒 𝑒𝓋𝑒𝓇𝓎 𝒹𝒶𝓎, 𝒴/𝒩." Your F/O says softly. "𝒲𝒾𝓉𝒽 𝒶 𝓁𝑜𝓋𝑒 𝓁𝒾𝓀𝑒 𝓎𝑜𝓊𝓇𝓈, 𝒽𝑜𝓌 𝒸𝑜𝓊𝓁𝒹 𝐼 𝑒𝓋𝑒𝓇 𝓃𝑜𝓉 𝓀𝓃𝑜𝓌?"
Tumblr media
❥ Your F/O will never forget the love you've shown them. ❥ Your F/O does not need you to prove your love to them with expensive gifts. ❥ You are the light in your F/O's life. Everything you give is more than enough for them. ❥ Your F/O hopes that you know they love you too- more than you can ever know.

Here's an interesting article about how therapists are now recommending patients play Dungeons and Dragons as a way to get through their problems in everyday life.
It's literally therapists recommending fiction as a way to cope with reality. Most therapists are pro-fiction, so long as it's not harming them. Fiction doesn't affect reality on a 1:1 basis, and any trained professional knows that.

Shout out to all the ex antis out there! It's not always easy to reframe your beliefs, specially in a community that's so closed off such as theirs. I'm glad you have moved on from that!! You are always welcome in here! Have a nice day y'all!

It’s not that I don’t LIKE the Fandom Popular Pairings, it’s that I find the assumption that everyone ships them and the general all-consuming nature of said pairings to be kinda exhausting,

"You have to be mindful when it comes to your art and who could potentially consume it!"
I can't control who sees my art. That's a fact. By putting it out on the Internet millions of people could see it and there's no way I could control anyone's reaction to it, let alone be able to stop them from viewing it. If you think that is precisely why people should be mindful, let me ask you this: why should an artist (or author) limit and censor themselves on account of a potential and imaginary "bad audience"? I'm sure that no matter the subject of the art, whether wholesome or problematic, it will eventually be viewed by people I disagree with.
Regardless, why should I let the paranoia of something that can't be controlled dictate what I create? If you're gonna walk on eggshells around your own creative process in fear of something that is ultimately impossible to avoid, you're fighting a losing battle. Stop focusing on things out of your control and policing yourself, and try instead to moderate your own personal space. Blocking accounts is the first thing to do and you can even filter tags if you want to, but never, under no circumstance, kill your art for anyone.

Wishing every proshipper on this site that sees this post an absolutely wonderful day!
You are so strong and brave for getting through every single day. Despite the hate and harsh comments thrown your way, you stick to who you are and don’t let their comments sway you! Because - after all - they’re just people on the internet. What they think doesn’t define you. You’re not a horrible person for what you ship or don’t ship. You’re not a horrible person for not harassing those that enjoy problematic fictional content.
You have every single right to a good day. You’ve earned it!

Shout out to all my fellow selfshipping proshippers! Y'all are based and are just as welcome in the selfshipping tag as anyone else!
Your taste in fiction isn't an indication of your morals, your F/Os know this and they too are proshippers!
Your F/Os have always and will always love and adore you more than words could ever describe! There is no soul on this Earth that can tell you otherwise, and if they try just know that they are wrong and will never be right!

Another reminder that fanfiction is not big enough to do actual damage to the real world, and the only damage it's doing to you is disgust. So click off it if you don't like it.

𝓯𝓻𝓲𝓮𝓷𝓭, i know it is rough out there. there are so many lies being told, so many false narratives, and harmful ideologies... you often feel the desire to respond and protect us. remember, friend! you do not owe these people an argument- especially not at the cost of your own well-being. you are always allowed to protect yourself. you are always allowed to step away for a day, a week, a month, a year- as long as you need. we will be here when you return. always<3

Something something thinking about how antishipping is a very Americanized way of thinking because it’s justifying and being totally fine with the bloodiest most disgusting violence ever but crying and losing your shit when there’s an ounce of sexual connotation between the “wrong people” (or any sort of sexual connotation like at all)
gonna start saying “you’re not an antishipper, you’re a victim of US propaganda” like unironically
