Ceasefire

We work and rest and even try to play. We eat our fill but fail to feel the peace. We shun the tears of other people's day. We wash our hands and mock our mortal lease.

Our wars and famines destroy lives for us. Our casus belli grant not glee to grasp. Our arms sell well and fear we not a fuss. Our cores turn cold and faces freeze to glass.

So heed the call and pray for fading souls, And with your mind do kindly grace the Earth, The poxy price you pay to play a role, In loaning out your lucky gift of birth.

Begin it must with single-minded thought, Love seated-deep, and hearts that can't be bought.

Hi. Here is the story of how my life changed. Very shockingly in June my dad found out he had colon cancer. What went from joking about his colonoscopy prep quickly turned into horror when they found stage 2 cancer in my perfectly “healthy” father. What was supposed to be a routine procedure to cute out the cancer, turned into 66 days of hell for my family where we had to watch my father fight for his life. He went to rehab where he learned to walk again and now he is being told that it’s possible his cancer has now progressed to stage 4 in just a few weeks.
