Summary: Katniss was more than happy to cater Gale and Madge’s wedding. Until she found out she would be working with Peeta Mellark, a returning District 12 resident—and her childhood crush.

The storm picked up as everyone gathered at the bakery.

After realizing that Leo was missing, Katniss called Gale and Madge asking them to notify the citizens of District 12 to keep a lookout. She then called Prim and Cato asking them to gather what they might need for Leo.

Luckily, Mags was still in town due to the storm and would be able to guide the couple if needed.

“Gather blankets and have a kettle ready,” Mags told her over the phone. “I’ll come over to the bakery with my kit. He’ll likely need to be treated for hypothermia.”

Soon after Katniss hung up, Peeta went to get ready to search for Leo. She went upstairs and went to the linen closet to grab more blankets, bringing them to Leo’s bedroom. Placing the blankets on the end of his bed, she looked around the room. It looked so normal like he had simply stepped out of the room.

Her eyes went to the map of constellations taped to the opposite wall and blinked back tears.

She closed her eyes, imagining Leo in the meadow, his eyes bright as he told her about the night sky and its many wonders. He looked so happy, and safe—like he was home.

“The meadow—” Her eyes snapped open, and Katniss leaped from the bed. “Peeta!”

A wedding dress from the 1880s in the Textile Museum in Prato:

Look at that bustle! The train! The lace! The details! I'm in love.

The other is under cut, because some people might find it gore-ish: anatomical models of different fetal presentations from the 1770s(!) In the Galileo Museum in Florence

Katniss awoke to her front door opening.

Outside her bedroom, there was a flurry of footsteps and the murmur of a group.

“Do any of you know how to cook?”

The question was asked by her sister which also meant Cato was there.

“I can make a pretty good scramble.” A deep voice—Haymitch—informed her.

“Well, we have a scramble,” Johanna declared. “That’s something. Let me look in her fridge.” Katniss could hear rummaging. “Have any of you talked to Peeta?”

“We have.” Another feminine voice—Madge—replied. “He’s miserable.”
