In which Bucky tries to figure out whether he's a human being, Steve does everything he can to keep from losing him again, and there are lots of explosions.

Summary: He's just scruffy enough that most people would avoid eye contact in case he asked them for change. But his eyes are startling blue and stark and wild, and he looks at Sam and Sam looks at him, and yeah. Turns out he knows where Bucky is after all.

He knows that kind of fear and pain, just like he knows that the man who was once James Buchanan Barnes could have already killed him. Killed as many people as he wanted to, and run.

While watching through Tron Uprising I noticed that there are 3 villains (2 boys and a girl) and Beck's friend group is 3 people (2 boys and a girl) and i was like cool! Maybe they're set up as parrallels or something.

Matching Zed to Pavel works easily enough. They're both self-centered (though Zed narrowly pulls back from going villain, while Pavel embraces it) they're smart, Zed is a genius, inventing a new weapon and a bike that goes 30% faster than anything used before. That's a huge jump! Pavel's smarts are less seen, focusing more on scheming, but he is the one who gives his boss an upgrade for dealing with the renegade.

Mara to Paige and Beck to Tessler though? They really weren't lining up, and then i switched them.

Beck and Paige are both programs who fixed things, as a mechanic and a medic respectively, before finding and impressing their mentor figures. They are the ones who show you aren't bound by your programming, something that stands out normally and especially under CLU's regime. They're both motivated by wanting to save people, they just see the other as doing it the wrong way.

Which leaves Mara to line up with Tessler. Tessler. Tessler is in charge of CLU's forces in Argon city. He's a cruel program, but also a slave to PR and can be talked out of his initial judgements given the right, people pleasing angle. Mara gets an episode of being in charge of the garage and she struggles, letting others walk over her. She wants her people to be happy, too. She does find her footing as a boss by the end though and her arc doesn't end with that. She becomes the leader of the first resistance group to come after the renegade starts making trouble for the occupation. While they don't last, she shows herself to be the one people rally around again in the finale as the rebellion officially begins.

So for your scientist dating sim thin, do we get to see how the protag is changed from a third person pov pr will it be more classical where like the way the screen looks will change if their eyes are experimented on? Also do the scientists have a place the want to take us for dinner?

The mcs appearance will remain completely up to reader imagination, which makes doing anything in 3rd person more challenging. As of right now I plan on drawing like. Idk if there's a word for them but the sort of proper illustration vignettes some dating sims have? As opposed to sprites on a background? I plan on drawing some of those up for each route that will give a hint at what MC ends up as without giving them like. A Canon appearance you know? It's a bit of a balancing act here between how much I want to show vs letting the reader have fun with it

Dr Typical is taking you to olive garden, or other similar date restaurant

Zed is banned from all fast food joints so you guys are going through the drive through and you have to order while they hide in the backseat. Hope you brought your wallet too because they enjoy dining and dashing

Dr Mortis is... not in the habit of eating at restaurants. She has no idea whats good. She will let you pick the destination, even when it's her turn to plan date night. She really doesn't mind wherever you want to go.

Dr Chilopoda has this shit down pat. Ze's taking you to nice restaurant, nothing too fancy but still a Nice Place, it's somehow exactly the kind of food you like too? Ze's a romantic at heart, ze'll treat you right, pulling out your chair and everything.

About an hour after the guest’s arrival, the auction finally starts. Some come to share the money they have no other use for — others, to establish some sort of status, seek connections, or simply watch this odd species in its natural habitat.

While politicians lay the groundwork for a successful campaign, the law and the media follow closely behind, all with goals of their own. Weaving into the crowd also, are those with influence in the underworld. If you think they don’t have something to gain by blending in — you’re sorely mistaken.

ARCHER BROOKS makes the rounds to ensure that there is no bad PR that could possibly come from this. Targets include LEV MOVSKA and ZED MOVSKA, who look like the type to start trouble.

[MEDIA CHARACTER C] has their hands full tonight, what with so much fact-checking to be made for all articles breaking tomorrow. Naturally, they approach [CHARACTER D] to run through the details with. (Read: trying to catch them in a lie.)

[CHARACTER E] had been hoping to shake hands with someone involved in the government tonight, and ALAN DIETRICH fits the bill. If they can just gauge out all government strategy and how it impacts their business, then it’s time well spent. Of course, [CHARACTER E] has their own agenda also.

[LAW CHARACTER A] had heard through a rumor that DAMIEN TOUSSAINT, while not a criminal themselves, knows more than your average civilian. If they enough questions, maybe some will get answers.

[CHARACTER H] lets it slip that they know some hacking, and it peaks the interest of CALEB MORENO. Hey — knowing what their opponents are doing could be useful, that’s all.

[GANG CHARACTER C] has been avoiding EMILIO CARRASCO, until they cross paths. There’s an inkling or knowledge of their involvement with crime, and tensions rise.

MATHIAS CAIN gets a little too drunk and reveals a secret they weren't supposed to, and to the worst person possible: CLARK CAIN. What now?

KRISTEN PARRISH finds AVA M HOLLIS and VIA D’ANGELO talking in a room — and they want in on the secret.

[CHARACTER M] has their eye on a certain item up for auction, and they're determined to have it — the only problem is, [CHARACTER N] feels the same. Who will win the battle of paper and words?

IZARA LEVINE catches [CHARACTER P] stashing hors-d'œuvres in their pockets. Are they saving it for later, or are they up to something? Time will tell.

AXEL REYES and [ENEMY C] enter conflict. But they have to find a way to settle it without things getting violent — any slips, and they might just blow the cover of their entire operation.

this is sort of like my number one headcanon pr something but I never finish it and I hate the way Tango looks and I've drawn this on every phone I've owned since (2) and I need to make it into an actual comic one day but.

to explain

Etho is a shapeshifter and can obviously change the colour of his hair.

except, he can't do so when he's running low on "energy". this is more based on my kind of 'generic' headcanon where all hermits have some sort of magic powers, in which they use energy to use them, and Etho's shapeshifting is based on.

(it's basically just like chakra from naruto, but I hadn't even watched naruto before I made this. the main difference between energy and chakra is that losing all your energy doesn't kill you, but I haven't really expanded on this for as long as I've had this headcanon)

anyway, so at this point in time, Etho's straight up just low on energy and is losing the ability to maintain his shapeshifted state. the way he learns he's low on energy is that when he washes his hair, his silver runs out. no, it's not dyed. but for the few weeks after energy depletion, it is. (which is why Etho contacts Zedaph. to get silver dye. this is more set in s8 with Zed's whole science bit <3 iirc. he makes the dye himself :D)

also, separate headcanon, that I continue to try and implement today, is that every hermit has a pair of wings, based on a winged animal. (Etho's are based on an arctic tern. not here tho. this was before i arctic tern'd Etho apparently </3) and they can make the wings disappear at any time (maintaing wings on your back uses energy, so they're usually only there for flying. they get in the way otherwise. I think one of my headcanons is that Grian's can never be 'tossed into the void'. his are always there.)

FIRST FANFICTION!!!!! But seriously I've been wanting to write fic's for a while and I'm still debating if I want to get an ao3 account, but for now I'll post it here.

This is based on my recent post with Angel and Claptrap, and this show how the two became more closer.

And like I said, this is my first fanfic, so please go easy on me, I'm already nervous about posting this.

(also I may have accidentally written Angel as autistic, mainly with mentions of routine's and sensory overload)

Slight trigger warning for past trauma and past abuse

The sound of an alarm clock went off, a hand reached out to turn it off, and a small figure rose out of bed.

beep beep beep

"New day, same routine" the girl said to herself.

Jack is gone, Dad's gone, and she wants it to stay that way.

After the siege in the control core, Angel thought it's all over. The pumps are destroyed, the vault hunters take the key, Jack loses his catalyst, and she's free from her imprisonment….or so she thought…

It wasn't until she woke up that she found herself in an infirmary, siren tattoos still intact, fearing that it's Hyperion's and that Jack succeeded, until she was greeted by Dr Zed, with Lilith Brick and Mordecai accompanied by…. but no Roland.

Roland was killed, Jack shot him in the back like the coward that he is. Jack then kidnapped Lilith and used her powers to charge the vault key and awaken the Warrior. But luckily Maya and her team were able to kill the Warrior, save Lilith, and stop Jack once and for all by a buzz ax to the head.

When Lilith used her Phasewalk on the vault hunters, a comatose Angel was transported to Sanctuary as well and was rushed to Zed's where she's currently residing. After Jack's downfall, the people of Sanctuary started to recover from Hyperion's influence, with Angel being affected by him the worst due to Jack treating her as a battery as well as almost killing her.

During her time spent in Sanctuary, the cybernetics have since been removed, even the failed echo eye that Jack implanted and never fixed, started to gain a more healthy weight, and is starting to use her legs again.

Right now she's starting her routine, one of them is to practice walking again before heading for breakfast. Most mornings, one of the raiders would come in and help keep her balanced, most of the time it's usually Lilith or Gaige, other time's if there too busy, one of the other vault hunters would come in instead, and today it's-

"GOOD MORNING ANGEL!"

A loud voice echoed the room, and Angel winced due to her sensitive hearing. She looked over and saw Claptrap, wearing a paper nurse hat.

Angel sat on her bed, confused because she wasn't expecting Claptrap of all people to assist her. "Uhhh, good morning to you too Claptrap" Angel said, still confused.

Angel then asked "Umm, I don't mean to be rude, but I was expecting Lilith to come by."

Claptrap then answered

"Oh, well Lilith and the gang got caught up on some Hyperion soldier's attacking, and everyone else is busy, so Lilith reluctantly put me in charge of your routine" Claptrap said a bit to proudly.

"Oh…ok" said Angel most of the time, change is something that would upset her, but it's a small change so she can handle it.

Angel then hopped out of bed, grabbing the cane that was sat beside. The cane also has a cute little bear charm that Gaige gave to her on the handle.

And with that, Angel got on her feet, Claptrap stood beside her, making sure she doesn't fall, Angel did her best to lean on Claptrap given that he's shorter than her. Slowly she starts walking laps in her room with Claptrap follow beside her.

Angel can't help but feel bad for the funny little robot. Not only he's the last of his kind, thanks to Jack discontinue the product line, but almost everyone treats him pretty badly, from insulting him, to threatening him with violence if he doesn't shut up. Considering this is the same Claptrap that helped Jack with the Helio's problem and help Jack with retrieving the H-Sorce, which almost led to his death, she can't help but feel guilty with what her dad did, especially with the advice she gave him when he was installing the VaultHunter.EXE program.

After silently walking around for a few minutes, Angel decided to break it and asked Claptrap "Claptrap, you uh….do you still remember when you helped Jack with the Helio's situation?"

It took Claptrap a breff second to answered "Kinda…. honestly, most of that memory was kind of fuzzy after retrieving the H-Sorce for Jack. I mean, I still remember Athena, that ice lady, that one guy that looks like Jack, having a stair climbing wheel, having to kill Felicity, Jack killing those sciencetist because he thinks there a mole" Claptrap's voice starts to trail off, sounding like he's about to cry.

Angel took notice, understanding the self guilt that she's been struggling with. "You know, before Jack imprisoned me, my life was pretty normal. Until my powers started to develop, and I accidentally turn on one of the turents and….and…."

Angel was on a verge of tears, trying to explain that traumatic memory of her mother's death.

She then continued "After that, Jack hooked me up saying that it's to restrain my powers. I was scared and I asked him where mom was, all he said was that she's not coming back. From that point I was no longer his daughter, instead I was his prisoner"

At that point, Angel broke down, even though he's dead, the physical and emotional scars would last a lifetime.

Claptrap stood by, trying his best to comfort the poor girl. "Well, you're still alive, and that's what matters…I guess?" Claptrap say's, trying to reassure her. He then continued "And do you want to know the best part? That loser of a father is dead, believing that he lost everything that's important to him"

Angel looked up at him, seeing that there's more to him than just some funny little robot. She then smiled and Claptrap said "So, do you want to continue with your routine?"

Angel noded, and the two continued.

oh boy DO I. ive been thinking about this thing on-and-off pretty much every day!! gosh, the only problem is i dont even know where to START. hmmm ok ok lets talk about the setting first ig.

-- the entire vibes are based off of every eighties movies i remember (with the addition of gay people LMAO), so basically that means: theyre in school. But i do NOT want them to be like 16 so theyre all in different stages of college age. so the majority of them are within their 20s.

-- its not as sad as The Outsiders but not quite as peppy as Ferris Bueller's Day off. idk somewhere in the sliding scale of that.

-- the diner is called Xisuma's Odds and Ends (bc. theyre queer. odd. do u get it)(i think im funny)

-- imagine you're in Mels. now imagine youre in applebees. now imagine youre on a roadtrip and theres a diner that's been in business since your mother was a teenager and they have the BEST waffles. now imagine what it would have looked like if you were your mom as a teenager. now forget about applebees but not too much. now make it have a lot of hidden queer symbols. That's what Odds and Ends looks like.

-- they have a giant neon moon sign on the wall that Xisuma got for like ten bucks. s8 reference woo

-- i dont know if youve gotten this idea yet /s, but Odds and Ends is The Queer Hangout. Xisuma is the go-to guy if they get into any trouble. Be that whether Tango got caught spray painting things when he shouldnt be or someone needs to hide from an ex or their parents or they need to stop thinking about school for a little bit -- or, y'know, they want a burger -- Xisuma is always there to help. Or to give you a burger.

-- Evil X will help people (Tango) spray paint things for 5 dollars.

-- Ariana Griande DOES feature in this, even tho the celebrity ariana Grande was not born until 1993. She was a hobby of Grian's that he just. never dropped. He sings on thursdays.

-- my all-time favorite hc for bdubs in any au is that hes a PR manager so hes studying communications and marketing rn.

-- jimmy is studying to be a veterinarian. aminals.

-- impulse is still figuring things out but right now hes working in a welding shop and he likes it there. he also blows glass sometimes.

-- XB is a baker. i just really like the idea of him baking bread. or anything really. he works at the bakery just across the street. Odds and Ends sometimes do trades with them. burgers in exchange for cookies.

-- mumbo is a cook. grian is a waiter. cleo is a manager. gem is a waitress. zed is also a cook, lord save us all. etho is a cashier. xisuma is THE manager. ren is a cook as well.

Rust Compiler Performance Triage

A quiet week; all the outright regressions were already triaged (the one biggish one was #122077, which is justified as an important bug fix). There was a very nice set of improvements from PR #122070, which cleverly avoids a lot of unnecessary allocator calls when building an incremental dep graph by reusing the old edges from the previous graph.

Need to do some chores first BUT time for 1x7 home is where the heart stops.

Oh hey that's me! I often score the fights that my brother & dad's gf's son have. They play these hugs fights & I'm not good at the piano but it's fun to score their matches. Is it just blurred that makes them look like silhouettes? No wait they were behind the screen. I knew that alexis took fencing but I didn't know Rick could fence & help Alexis train. Jumping around the stairs & stuff I love it.

Probs a contortionist. The stunt actor would be at least. Poor guy. He should just... step off this case, at least the scene. At least we know he has an allergy now. Reminds me of a fic I read where for a full 60 seconds esposito thought ryan had a drug problem bc he was sniffling & hiding all the time but he was just allergic to esposito's jacket hey that made me think of smth. I'm allergic to cats, would I be allergic to tigers? Back to what I was saying this opens up a lot of sickfic opportunities. XD this poor man.
