Birthday Observations (Capricorn Placements)
*Just based on my observations, only take what resonates
Tumblr media
(Today’s my birthday -woo- so I thought I’d put together some observations I’ve noticed about Capricorn placements)
-Capricorn in the big 6 (especially moon) are forced to grow up so fast. Usually, because they’re born to a family with some sort of immaturity in the adults. Because of this these placements usually have to reparent themselves at some point, and this can be why Capricorn placements tend to have more fun in their lives after 25-30
-Sometimes I feel like we forget that in old astrology Aquarius and Capricorn have the same ruler, Saturn. I believe this is why Capricorns can find themselves innovating or even find themselves being stand out loners
-Speaking of Saturn, Capricorn heavy people tend to have to break generational curses or they’ll end up victim to the same circumstances (but they can fall into the same patterns easily)
Tumblr media
-Capricorns tend to have such a dry sense of humor because humor is how we cope with all the stress and madness. When things get more lighthearted (and when developed) Capricorns can be much less serious and heavy individuals
-Capricorn mercuries may struggle with expressing themselves in their youth, and even as they get older they may have a hard time opening up and sharing details about their thoughts.
-I think the constant theme with Capricorn placements is taking time and being very deliberate in their processes. Capricorn Asc tend to be a bit slow paced in how they act and react (not in a lacking way, just very deliberate). Capricorn suns grow into their identity and how to express it often after their early 20s, Capricorn moons need time an space to understand and process the emotions they’re feeling, Capricorn mercuries need time to respond and often carefully consider what they’ll say next, Capricorn venuses often don’t fully embrace their beauty until after their mid 20s and they tend to have better luck in love and relationships after this point as well, Capricorn marses tend to need time to achieve their goals, even when they move toward them with consistency, etc
Tumblr media
-Underdeveloped Capricorn placements can be super competitive and try to out pace you in everything that you do better than them. (Capricorn suns will try to undermine your achievements and attention, Capricorn venus will try to make you feel ugly and try to throw shade on your style/friendships/romantic options, etc)
-Capricorns don’t enjoy inefficient behavior, they may complain about a process that doesn’t seem to be logical in all steps and may streamline the process if they can.
-The biggest lesson I’m trying to learn as a Capricorn is when to rest. There’s always more work that can be done and it’s hard to mentally step away without feeling guilty or unproductive.
Tumblr media
-I always felt some kinda way about The Devil tarot card being for Capricorns— but I will say it is a sign that is commonly tempted to chase after means (like Capricorn venus dating someone for money). Capricorns love respect and security so they can sell out their soul for this if they’re not self aware.
-I just barely started reading Alice Sparkly Kat’s Post Colonial Astrology book, but there and on her blog she makes a great point that “Capricorns have never been corporate”. I have a theory that conformity can be a great detriment to Capricorn placements (even if just on a spiritual level). But Saturn repeated his father’s ruthless attitude around power and was cut down by his sons. Capricorns can find themselves succeeding down these conventional paths and then they end up suffering personally. Or, as was my experience, these conventional paths never quite open up to you and you face more and more challenges in this route and can never quite match their progress to their ambitions. Capricorns tend to benefit much more when they create their own path (I’ve found that this true for business as well as other areas of life).

Chiron as guide to the Dao
I am used to seeing people in the astrological community describe Chiron as "the wounded healer" and stop there. But I have been reading more about Chiron, and doing a lot of introspective work about him, and I want to help everyone see him in a deeper, more well-rounded light.
For those who are familiar with Daoism, and the concept of the Dao, this post will be easier to grasp. But just as a brief description, Daoism (as illuminated in Daoist texts) is essentially the synthesized philosophy of much older Earth-based spiritual traditions in what is now known as China.
Because Daoism is a synthesized philosophy coming out of a much older animist tradition, and because all human societies and cultures once practiced animism (and most still do in various ways), it has a massive amount of resonance cross-culturally.
Anyway, back to Chiron. I see him as a mediator, a sage, who was a kindred spirit to LaoZi and other spiritual teachers. He taught those around him how to reconcile the different parts of their nature, how to integrate their base level instincts with their higher awareness. Astronomically, he is the mediator between the inner and outer planets, at the boundary of Saturn and Uranus.
In his lifetime, Chiron was trying to reconcile the differences and misunderstandings between centaurs (representing "nature," "instincts," "barbarism" etc.) and gods (representing "humanity," "rationality," "civilization" etc. ). He was trying to teach everyone that these concepts are a false dichotomy, and that it is possible for all of these things to coexist in a single form- after all, he was living proof!
His injury, which is why people refer to him as "the wounded healer" happened by accident during a fight between centaurs and gods. He was wounded in this battle specifically, but I think the story is just emblematic of the lifelong wound of rejection and misunderstanding he carried as a result of who he was, and the message he was trying to convey (which others were not always receptive to).
I find it important to say that Chiron was wounded by circumstance, and this myth takes place in a specific historical context, where ideas about "civilization" versus "barbarism" (read: empire versus indigeneity) were rapidly being formed. This is ancient Greece and Rome we're talking about here. This myth was being actively created through retellings in a context where the idea of someone like Chiron NOT being wounded was unimaginable.
I think that the difference between Chiron as an archetype, and Chiron in mythological/historical context, is really important. Because at least in theory, Chiron did not have to be wounded by that poisoned arrow. It was not an inevitable outcome. And I think that as a collective, humanity is now being faced with the task of integrating Chiron's awareness, and healing everyone who has been hurt in the process of global patriarchal/colonial/capitalist expansion (which is actually literally everyone, in one way or another). We have the option now, to re-write the story. To stop the wounding.
What if the whole "mind vs. body, humans vs. nature" thing didn't exist? What if we learned how to relate to ourselves and all other beings in a non-dominating, loving way? What would it mean to let go of control? What would it mean to allow the Dao to flow, to stop trying to escape change and death, and just surrender to being a part of everything? These lessons are what I believe Chiron is trying to teach.
I think that the most painful separation for most of us alive today, is the separation we have from our own humanity- as contextualized by, and produced by, our relationships to all other beings. This pain is amplified for those of us who are especially spiritually sensitive, and who are the targets of dominating systems.
Dominating systems, extractivist systems, do not understand the lessons of Chiron. They position themselves as gods, ruling over nature and taking what they please.
It has been argued that Chiron rules Virgo and the 6th house. I think this is an interesting and keen observation. Chiron, as mediator between "heaven and earth" so to speak, rules over the connection between the mundane and the divine. He is the bridge between the two, as Barbara Hand Clow says.
I am reminded of a Zen Buddhist saying (which I suspect has Daoist origins): "Before enlightenment; chop wood, carry water. After enlightenment; chop wood, carry water.”
I am also reminded of the line in Everything Everywhere All At Once, where Ke Huy Quan's character says: "So, even though you have broken my heart yet again, I wanted to say, in another life I would have really liked just doing laundry and taxes with you."
...
So then, what to make of Chiron as an astrological object? He has not really been labeled, which I think is part of the beauty of his symbolism. Nobody can fully decide if he's a planetoid or asteroid or comet, or something else entirely. And that is okay. As an archetype, Chiron represents embodied forms that cannot be easily categorized.
In a natal chart, Chiron is said to represent a person's deepest wound, but also the area of life where they have the most wisdom. I think this is true, but I also want to move beyond the surface-level symbolism.
I have come to see Chiron as representing the area where a person can experience their greatest sense of connection or disconnection from the Dao. From "God" or the "ground of being" or whatever other words people use to describe it. This makes it extremely powerful as a gateway, and because it unleashes all of these fraught themes about mind vs. body, humans vs. nature, etc. it is not easy to deal with.
Chiron is a reminder of all the ways we are limited in our connection to the Dao. All the ways we struggle to let go of power and control, the ways we get ourselves stuck in material issues or stuck in spiritual issues and struggle to find the balance between them. Chiron is about balance- I think the greatest balancing act of all. Think of the Yin-Yang symbol, which represents the Dao.
It takes a high level of spiritual awareness, coupled with a high level of skill in navigating mundane reality, in order to fully integrate Chiron. But Chiron in itself is the guide to the mastery of those realms. So I would say that in order to reach that place, we have to listen to what Chiron is asking of us.
In a natal chart, I feel that Chiron represents our potential. Where we could find our greatest sense of integration, wisdom, and joyful embodiment. Where we could find our connection to the Dao. It's getting there in this world, where "gods" and "centaurs" are fighting, which is the major challenge. The process of getting there is usually painful. But it can also be full of love, and beautiful lessons that are profoundly healing. It depends on how you approach the themes that are being brought up.
In synastry, I think of Chiron contacts as areas where the other person is supporting or pushing us to get into deeper contact with the Dao. It depends on whether the aspect is hard or soft. I think hard aspects with Chiron can be difficult to wrangle when people are young, but they are likely the most transformative.
In a composite chart, I think Chiron represents the greatest potential of the relationship itself. It is the area where, if it is focused on, both people in the relationship would feel most connected to the Dao. Any aspects it makes, especially conjunctions, are representative of planetary energies that are key to Chiron's mission and what it is asking of us in that relationship.
Chiron says: "This is the most difficult thing for you to achieve, but it is the thing that will be the most rewarding if you can get there."
Chiron sees potential. It pushes people to their outer limits, tries to help them break through to the other side (past Saturn to Uranus), then guides them to come back and tell the tale.
Not everybody makes it back. Not everybody even accepts being pushed to their limits like that in the first place. But those who DO make it back, especially those who have willingly gone on the journey, are essential guides for the rest of us.
Chiron is intimately connected to ecology. To relationships, to polarities, and to balance. Now more than ever, the world needs people who are ready to harness the power of their natal Chirons, and to harness the power of Chiron in their composite charts with people who they have important relationships with.
We can't do this work on our own. Even though Chiron was often depicted as a loner, in reality he had a large network of friends, and he even had a wife! Her name is Chariklo- but that's a story for another time.
I want to encourage people to start seeing Chiron in a new light. Let's not fear him, and run away from the pain. The pain is trying to tell us something. If we are in pain because of Chiron, that is because he is highlighting an area of life where we are disconnected from the Dao. He is telling us to "chop wood, carry water" and to maintain spiritual awareness at the same time. He is telling us to recognize and respect our limits, while pushing them at the same time. Chiron is paradox. He is Yin and Yang. He is the relationship of opposites. If we allow these lessons to sink in, our area of immeasurable pain can transform into the area of our greatest ecstasy.
Let us learn!

ITERATOR REDESIGN
I wasn't satisfied with my Iterator's name and design, so here's the new version!
Tumblr media
I just wanted a cute name that included 'star' in the name tbh I might change it later if I find a better one. Backstory is still somewhat the same: Iterator that's meant for observing the stars and constellations (Religious stuff as well as for entertainment.) as well as the occasional babysitter for young Ancients. Kind of like a kindergarten at times. (At least, that was the case until they were all gone.) They are among the latest ( "youngest" ) Iterators out there and as such they don't have that much experience.
They have a hyperfixation on Slugcats, as well as other things such as ecology, astrology ( of course ) and music.
Somewhat childlike in appearance and behavior, this little one is quite playful and loves to talk about their special interests with other Iterators. They are pretty much a cinnamon roll.
( Sadly, they had to mask while the Ancients were still there to avoid any kind of repercussions as they felt they had to 'act professional' in front of them. But now that they're gone they can just do whatever they like! Sorta. )
They are a composer and storyteller, so one may be able to find some of their stories and songs in certain places.
They keep copies of all of their compositions and stories around their puppet at all times ( a.k.a the pearls that are floating around them.)
Due to their love for the little critters. Their can is home to a colony of slugcats. One of their hobbies is to take cute pictures of them and post them into their local group chat.
(Btw they have more wires I just couldn't be bothered to try to draw the ones in the back)
Also I take questions, feel free to ask about them!!!

I have realized that if I’m going to be posting about Battlestar Galactica characters on here I ought to introduce them for the people who have no clue what I’m on about. So here’s a post of the main characters in the 1978 Battlestar Galactica TV show and a summary of the plot:
So the plot is this: the Cylons, a race of sentient machines, with the help of a human traitor, attack the 12 colonies of humans during an alleged “peace ceremony” where the two races were supposed to unite. They manage to destroy all but one of the human Battlestars and bomb all the human cities on the colony worlds (the colonies are all named after the astrology signs btw, most of the main characters are Capricans, because the Galactica was assigned to protect Caprica). The survivors of this devastating attack then gather every space-worthy ship they can find and fall under the protection of the last Battlestar, Galactica. Where is the Galactica going, you ask? Why to the 13th colony, to Earth, of course! Earth, in their culture, is a legendary planet, the “lost tribe”. The Galacticans are headed for it, hoping to find a home and peace from the cylons.
Now, on to the characters!
Tumblr media
First off we have Captain Apollo. He is a fighter pilot and the leader of Blue Squadron- one of the squadrons of colonial viper ships that defend the Galactica from attacks. He’s the son of Commander Adama and the adoptive father of Boxy. He’s usually pretty levelheaded, but not immune to occasional moments of foolishness (like flying into a void he didn’t know he could get out of). He’s thoughtful and empathetic and cares about other people very quickly.
Tumblr media
And then there’s lieutenant Starbuck. Apollo’s best friend and fellow pilot in Blue Squadron. Starbuck is the same kind of character as Han Solo from Star Wars: he acts like a heartthrob and pretends he doesn’t care and treats things flippantly until it really counts. The man’s got a heart of gold and is very dedicated to his friends even at the risk of his own life. He’s also a ridiculous goofball who tries to make light of everything.
Tumblr media
Commander Adama. He is the commander of the Galactica and leader of the fleet. He is also on the Council of Twelve, made up of elders from the 12 colonies (or in this case, the rag-tag fleet following the Galactica) who are responsible for making decisions for the betterment of what’s left of their people. He is the father of Apollo and Athena. He can be very stern and commanding, but also kind when the situation calls for it. He has EXTREMELY good intuition about when the cylons will attack, and is the reason that the Galactica was the only Battlestar to survive the initial attacks.
Tumblr media
Athena is Adama’s daughter and Apollo’s sister. She can be found serving on the bridge of the Galactica or as a pilot. She can be very shrewd and clever and is not to be underestimated. She is initially a love interest for Starbuck, which I had actually forgotten. xD When all but two of the fleet’s fighter pilots fall ill, she and other newly-trained shuttle pilots learn to fly the colonial vipers to protect the fleet, so she’s very capable.
Tumblr media
Colonel Tigh is second-in-command of the Galactica. He comes across as very serious and an enforcer of protocol, but he also occasionally helps people get away with shenanigans of some kind. Basically, the man is surprisingly on board with most crazy schemes despite how on the surface he seems to be a rule follower. Adama trusts him implicitly and it’s implied they’ve worked together and been friends a long time.
Tumblr media
Boomer is another pilot in Blue Squadron and a friend of Starbuck and Apollo. He’s a very capable fighter, and often ends up on special missions. He’s fully capable with keeping up with Apollo and Starbuck’s shenanigans, but he’ll probably complain about them.
Tumblr media
Cassiopeia is one of the civilians from Galactica’s fleet. She is sassy and clever  and ends up working as a nurse on board Galactica. She’s another love interest for Starbuck too. xD She can be a little bit scary sometimes when she’s angry but she can also be very soft-spoken and kind.
Tumblr media
And the baby boy, Boxy! Boxy is Apollo’s adopted son- Apollo married his mother a few months after the Galactica set off for Earth... and then his mom got shot by a cylon a day later. So Apollo’s his single dad now, though the pilots of Blue Squadron, Cassiopeia, and Adama are all also kind of helping raise him. xD Boxy’s a sweet kid, he’s smart and sensitive; he got very depressed when the cylons destroyed his home and his dog Muffet was killed. So to help, Apollo got some of the engineers/scientists on Galactica to make a robot dog for Boxy- Muffet 2. Muffet follows Boxy almost everywhere and the two are very attached.
Tumblr media
Aaaand this is Baltar. He betrayed the humans to the cylons and is, for most of the series, working for the cylons to try and capture the Galactica. He’s crafty, and manipulative, but very arrogant and proud, and you know what they say about pride coming before a fall...
Tumblr media
Of course this post would not be complete without the ship herself. The Galactica is a massive Battlestar ship, designed to protect the planets of the 12 Colonies against attacks from cylons. Originally, there were at least five of these ships, but after the cylons offered a fake peace treaty the rest of the Battlestars were unprepared for an attack. Adama was the only one who kept his guard up and thus the Galactica survived the vicious attack.
Tumblr media
This is the best picture I can find of the Galactica’s rag-tag fugitive fleet, but there’s a lot more ships than this. Forced to flee their homeworlds, these beat up old ships hold the only survivors of the 12 colonies. Without the Galactica’s protection, they would stand no chance against the cylons.
Tumblr media
The cylons themselves are a race of machines that outlived their original, organic, creators. They can live on far longer than humans by virtue of being able to replace failing parts of their bodies. Their goal is the eradication of the entire human race.
Alright, so there you have it! An introduction to Battlestar Galactica (1978)!

If you ask people on here about some Salafist Jihadi suicide bombing they will very accurately discuss the geopolitical context of colonialism and the petro-kleptocracies Western powers ally with in the Middle East to get our oil fix. They may mention how Salafism has been promoted at some times by western powers as a counter to communism. If they are really up on their game they will dissect jihadi-salafi ideology as a modern political movement with a clearly modern, political lineage. What they won't do is say some stupid shit about how Muslims blow them selves up to get with 70 virgins in paradise, because that is stupid, and reductionist, and isn't an explanation that actually explains the world and the way it works. In short, people will, correctly, look at religious fundamentalism and place it in it's proper historical and political context without making broad essentialist claims about how modern people's behavior can be trave to some timeless theological essence of a religion. This is a good, skeptical, rigorous approach.
But when asked about why say, evangelical Christians support Israel's occupation of the West Bank, people become credulous and will absolutely believe that details of Evangelical eschatology explain the political behavior of 30% of the American public. And that's just...well like I said, it is credulous. And reductionist, and it isn't the way the world works, and it doesn't actually explain the world or human behavior. Because American Evangelical fundie assholes are as much creatures of politics as Wahabbi fundie assholes.
Let's take support for Israel. This is something where leaders of the Evangelical movement like Jerry Falwell very deliberately tried to influence their congregants to a certain perspective. And I would submit that this was because of politics - because evangelical leaders saw Israel as an ally against communism, and then, in the 90s, as an ally against Islam in the creepy existential struggle the global right was and is trying to make the defining conflict of our times. The weird shit about Zionism being necessary for the rapture is, in this explanation, a post hoc justification for their political position, a way of finding a supposed Biblical basis for what they want to believe anyway.
And I think this is how these assholes mostly work. Christian Nationalism is not a purely theocratic movement trying to institute Biblical Law, but also quasi fascist nationalist movement that sees their vision of America as divinely ordained. In many cases, their theology flows from their politics, not the other way around. It is a way of sanctifying conservative politics and calling them God's Will.
Basically, their view is that the power structures of American Society - Racial Hierarchy, patriarchal families, capitalism - are sacred, and they build their theology around that. This is the way it was in the 19th century where groups like the Southern Baptists were founded by slaveholders to create a Christianity that would defend and uphold slavery against alternative theological interpretations that said 'maybe owning people is wrong'.
Thus the best way to understand them is not through the post hoc theology and details of scriptural interpretation but through looking at what power structures that theology sanctifies and defends. This explains their actual behavior - why they embraced Divorcee Ronald Reagan and his astrology loving wife over pillar of the church and possible living saint Jimmy Carter, why they supported Donald Trump over a literal Sunday School Teacher, why they give away AR-15s in Church. It explains why they will ally with literal Atheist activist James Lindsay against people in their own churches who are attempting to achieve racial reconciliation or at least acknowledge the extent to which their religious tradition was founded by slaveholders. It also explains why they are never going to drop out of society and live like monks, because the banal comfort and perceived safety of American suburbia is sacred to them. Theirs is a small, weak and false god, thankfully.

Somewhat childlike in appearance and behavior, this little one is quite playful and loves to talk about their special interests with other Iterators. They are pretty much a cinnamon roll.
They are a composer and storyteller, so one may be able to find some of their stories and songs in certain places.
As such, they keep copies of all of their compositions and stories around their puppet at all times ( a.k.a the pearls that are floating around them ).
Due to their love for the little silly critters. Their can is home to a colony of slugcats. One of their hobbies is to take cute pictures of them and post them into their local group chat.
They also help with taking care of the pups, too. After all, one of their main purposes was to be a daycare for the Ancients.
May be subject to changes later
UPDATE: I now have a dedicated sideblog for them!

*obligatory goldenfeather post*
i dont talk alot about her and other characters here which is sad, she has quite alot going on for her, she comes from a noble family in moonclan and had an arranged union with ironface, did she love him? yeah she did, both romantically and platonically and there was some feelings of jealousy towards holypyre for sure but those feelings passed and she moved on
now to pass the bechdel test, i feel bad for her and her life circumstances, though i wont say that there is misogny in this universe (????) there is definetely a invisible line between genders that colonies deny the existence (even in canon warrior cats honestly), how she cats are expected to be queens and mothers, to abandon their dreams of leadership and warrior roles to settle for family
she does feel that line, she is not a warrior per se and she never wanted to be leader but she doesn’t wants to be seen as only as a housewife and a mother, she is more than that and the arrangement made her lash out thinking that this might be the end of her freedom, though i do want to reiterate that yes she always wanted kids, the fear of being condescend to being a mother and only a mother was the thing holding her back
outside of that i cant quite say she had much interest in anything else? she seemed to have a huge interest in astrology and history but that is pretty much it

[07.12.23] ✧
hi loves 🤍
so more of a sappy post today, ft me post-sob after (no i hate this word's connotations but indeed i was) praying.
I don’t pray often, if ever - which is also very strange considering I am a spiritual person. But I have been taking a lot of inspiration from works and art focusing on spiritual health and wellness and think it’s just as important as physical and mental wellness. ☀️
So, I tried to pray.
And I chose an ancestor prayer, and I found a 432Hz meditation audio, and I spoke aloud to the ones I wanted to speak to.
It was an extremely emotional process for me, which tells me I had been holding in a lot. A lot of grief I hadn’t fully processed and a lot of lose ends I never got to tie up.
I think spirituality can look different for everyone. Some people find spirituality in religion, and some don’t. It can also range from believing in God(s) to believing that there is something beyond us that we cannot fully understand, but that we can find ways to tap into and find fullness from.
It’s also worth recognizing that “spirituality” carries so many connotations from it, from Karen in her lululemons ready for her Thursday morning yoga, also Karen with her crystals and costar, or Headspace 10-minute morning meditation - to the very real history and implications of religious trauma, colonialism, capitalism, appropriation of Black and indigenous spiritual ideologies and practices, and the church. I believe all of this - including your ethics, your values, your goals, and your own ancestral line - should stay central when you decide how to go about your practice.
I personally find a lot of my spirituality coming from my relationship with the environment and my gardening practices, my grandma and her teachings, practices of traditional medicine that saved my life, my dreams, yoga, and meditation. I am working to be more open to energy sources and understanding my energy, astrology and menstruation, breathwork, vagus nerve stimulation, body and intuition awareness, witchcraft, and humility in knowing that I cannot comprehend existence.
(Somehow this all feels like it keeps coming back to #horsepinko because now I am thinking of quantum tunneling again. Peep my last post lol.)
Anyway, I am going to list some books, resources, and ideas below that may inspire you if you might also want to look more into your spiritual wellness or just explore what that might be for you.
• Book: The Web of Meaning, Jeremy Lent
• Book: The Body Keeps the Score, Bessel Van Der Kolk
• Book: The Four Agreements, Don Miguel Ruiz
• Podcast: "Where does your spirituality come from? Learning how to support our indigenous healers" ft Asha Frost, by Spiritual Shit
• Podcast: "Inner Work: A Spiritual Growth Podcast," Josephine Hardman
• Podcast: "Indigo and Liberating Black Spirituality with Queen Quet" - Black History Year by PushBlack
• Podcast: "White Spiritual Women: We are all racist," Hunting for Purpose Podcast (also see Layla F. Saad on this topic)
• Chakra audios (YouTube and Spotify great sources) also theta waves
Please drop a few sources (or your favorites!) if you have any 🤍
Wishing you some solace in this and good luck on your journey. x

Una’ra Issar is a moon keeper miqo’te who grew up in the Sharlayan colony in Dravania. While studying botany at the Studium in the motherland, he met I’rakhi, his future wife. Together they moved back to the colony together, where they had two children: Inanna and Irkalla.
After moving to Fallgourd Float, he joined the botanists’ guild as well as the lancers’ guild in Gridania, and learned the art of the lance in order to defend himself on his research expeditions. His work as a botanist has made him a pillar of the guild, and he oversees their operations in the North Shroud.
While I’rakhi often took Irkalla with her on her travels, Inanna spent most of her time with her father, and thus is incredibly close to him. He taught her both botany and lancework, and will always be her safe harbor no matter the physical distance between them.

I’rakhi Tikha is a sun seeker miqo’te who originally hailed from Old Sharlayan. Trained in the arts of astrology, I’Rakhi attended the Studium and focused her studies on Hydaelyn’s aether currents. While studying there, she met Una’ra, and they later married. She moved to the Dravanian colony with him in order to build a life together there.
After the exodus, she and Una’ra moved to Fallgourd Float, and she began traveling the realm as an aetherological researcher in the employ of the various city-states. She hired Celeste on as a sellsword to safeguard her travels, but eventually the two began to care for each other.

Celeste Blanchard is a wildwood elezen from the Holy See of Ishgard. Born to a minor noble house, she was the youngest of three children. Not eligible for the line of succession, Celeste was nevertheless afforded a noble’s education at the Scholasticate, and later squired under her elder brother’s tutelage.
Though she was talented with a blade, her parents feared for her safety in the Dragonsong War, and she had no desire to waste her life in a millennia-old conflict with no end in sight. She chose to leave Ishgard to ply her battlecraft in the Eorzean city-states, where she met I’rakhi Tikha and came into her employ.
Through many adventures, she eventually found herself falling for her employer, who thankfully reciprocated her affections. Though she and Una’ra share no romantic affiliations, the two of them happily share I’rakhi between them. The trio are proud parents to the two hybrid miqo’te girls they call their pride and joy.
She, Una’ra, and I’rakhi often visited Ishgard with their children in tow in the days before the Seventh Umbral Calamity, but after Ishgard closed its borders to outsiders following the calamity, she and her children found themselves estranged from their Ishgardian roots.

The Book of Chilam Balam of Chumayel
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Book of Chilam Balam of Chumayel The Book of Chilam of Chumayel by Ralph L. Roys was published in 1933. The Books of Chilam Balam are the sacred books of the Maya of Yucatan and were named after their last and greatest prophet. Chilam, or chilan, was his title, meaning he was the mouthpiece or interpreter of the gods. Balam means jaguar, but it is also a common family name in Yucatan, so the title of the present work could well be translated as the Book of the Prophet Balam. During a large part of the colonial period, and even down into the Nineteenth Century, many of the towns and villages of northern Yucatan possessed Books of Chilam Balam, and this designation was supplemented by the name of the town to which the book belonged. Book of Chilam Balam the of Chumayel
What is The Book of Chilam Balam of Chumayel about?
The Book of Chilam Balam of Chumayel is one of the surviving texts from the Maya civilisation in present-day Mexico, primarily written during the late Postclassic period of Maya history (circa 1300-1697). The "Books of Chilam Balam" are a collection of nine related manuscripts, with the Chumayel being one of the most studied and notable. Yucatec Maya authors wrote the Chilam Balam texts after the Spanish Conquest, and they contain a mix of mythology, prophecy, history, and herbal medicine. The name "Chilam Balam" translates to "Jaguar Shaman" or "Priest," and is associated with the ancient tradition of prophecy among the Maya. Here are key elements that the Book of Chilam Balam of Chumayel, like others in the series, typically encompasses: - Historical Chronicles: These sections often relate the history of the Maya people from their early migrations to the Yucatan up to the times during and after the Spanish Conquest. It reflects the turmoil and changes that came with colonization, including the introduction of Christianity. - Prophecies: The books are perhaps best known for their prophetic aspects. The Chilam Balam texts include predictions about the Maya people's future and the Spaniards' coming, often written in a symbolic and poetic style. These prophecies, sometimes written as if made before the events occurred, often merge pre-Columbian religious beliefs with Christian elements. - Rituals and Ceremonies: Detailed descriptions of certain Maya rituals and religious practices are also included. These give insight into the post-conquest fusion of Christian and traditional Maya religious practices. - Astronomical and Astrological Texts: The Maya were accomplished astronomers, and the Chilam Balam books continue this tradition by including various charts and tables, often of an astrological nature, predicting the fate of the community based on the movements of celestial bodies. - Medicinal Recipes and Folk Remedies: The texts include a variety of medical knowledge, listing herbal remedies, and traditional practices for treating various ailments. - Transliteration of European Events and Practices: Some parts of the texts involve transliterations of Spanish or Christian terms, events (such as Christian religious stories), and calendars, reflecting the complex cultural synthesis that occurred in the centuries following the conquest. The original text is in Yucatec Maya, written using the Latin script taught by Spanish missionaries. The Book of Chilam Balam of Chumayel, like the other books of Chilam Balam, represents a critical source for understanding pre-Columbian Americas, offering a unique perspective on the synthesis of Spanish and Maya cultures and the resilience of Maya civilization and thought despite the profound disruptions of the colonial period. The psychosexual impulses of Enlightenment-era men were preoccupied with the innocence or profanity of the feminine body. This anxiety, which was always the anxiety around the innocence or profanity of the state, became a preoccupation with the innocence and profanity of the colonized lands from which the state derived its wealth and power.
