I just finished rewatching Portrait of a Lady on Fire, and I don't think I'm capable of feeling anything anymore, but I'm also currently feeling every emotion a human can feel. Now, I will take the rest of this year and possibly the rest of my life to recover.

Just watched Tomboy. I don’t think I have been this affected by a film since haha… the last Celine Sciamma film I watched.

everything remotely interesting that tàr had to say was already said infinitely better by portait of a lady on fire and most of what tàr had to say was simply not interesting and did not need to be said at all.

favorite art pieces in recent years?
do they have art styles they arent fond of?
has any of them looked into the art of video games yet?
do they ever hang out coordially with one another?
and lastly, any random facts about them?
i'll answer each of these by character!
genesis's favorite album of the last decade has been like clockwork by queens of the stone age. his favorite song off the album is "the vampyre of time and memory". he's not a fan of dubstep or country music produced in the 21st century. he's familiar with games, owning a bunch of vintage and retro consoles (erebus corrects him when genesis uses the "retro" catch-all, even though anything vintage is over 50 years old). genesis makes his own jacket pins.
aeron's favorite painting of the last few decades is one of these two by daniel pitin that i cannot find a name for. while they are willing to embrace all forms of art, they are not fond of hyperrealism. aeron's favorite game artistically is disco elysium. each of their tattoos mark an injury that they've received.
erebus has dived more into film in the 21st century, finding portait of a lady on fire and a girl walks home alone at night as his favorites. for literature, he isn't much a fan of autobiographies or books that fall into the category of "mundane story purposefully meant to make you cry". although erebus archives games, he has never played a video game past text adventures. when he was human, erebus was a virgo.

I know you mostly watch old movies but I say 2009 and 2019
2009: Avatar dir. James Cameron. Yeah basic ass answer but 2009 was a weak movie year and I've always loved elfs and bioluminescence and huge magical trees you can live in and I've never grown out of that.
2019: A Hidden Life dir. Terrence Malick altho Portait of a Lady on Fire dir. Celine Sciamma is giving Terry a run for his money!!

(Favourite queer media for the Pride ask game)
Ooh I’m picking two because I’m indecisive! For a film, definitely Portait of a Lady on Fire which is my favourite ever and just so beautiful and the lesbian yearning is off the charts. And then my favourite book is Giovanni’s Room which is also just so much yearning. I love sad gay stories lol, thanks for the ask!! 🫶🏻
