Uncharted territories of the heart, Jesper decided, were far more treacherous than any unexplored lands yet to find their way onto a map.

And this wasn't a territory he wanted to chart. Feelings were stickier and messier than pine resin, and he wanted no share of them.

Sadly, no matter how far he ran, no matter how fast, no matter where- Jesper couldn't escape, and he still had no idea where he was.

Hal was an experienced helmsman, and so was Thorn, but this wasn't a journey Jesper wanted to share with either.

Dell might laugh. He would laugh. He might be helpful, though. So would Edvin. Ingvar would listen patiently, but then he'd know, and so would anybody else Jesper told.

He got to his feet and began to run again.

If he lost himself, maybe the feelings would be lost too.

All I can think about recently is that there are three main career options for Grishaverse main characters:

A) Child soldier

B) Criminal

C) ✨Both✨

Hey friendly reminder that Jesper Fahey was supposed to be attending Ketterdam University, the same place the royal family decided to send Nikolai to (and assumed he was also attending). If I see one more person dumb Jesper down to comic relief when he was smart enough to get into the same school a prince was attending, it's on sight.
