Police Stand Over Man - One Officer Plays Video Game On Cellphone - And Watch As Helpless Stabbing Victim Bleeds To Death
Tumblr media
Instead of utilizing their medical training, body-camera footage shows one of the Salt Lake officers scrolling through social media and playing games on his cellphone moments after refusing to provide first aid to Outlaw, who was slowly dying in front of him.
At one point, officers tell him to crawl out of the elevator, but they never attempted to move this man to stop his bleeding.
The woman who reportedly stabbed the man in a domestic squabble was present and said to the officers, “You’re not doing anything about it.” A Policeman identified as Officer Anderson snapped back,
“What am I supposed to do? We have medical coming.”
The Salt Lake City Police Department did an internal investigation. Even with the video evidence of the officer's actions, the police department and city cleared them of wrongdoing, according to news reports.
Before the investigation had been completed, officials like Mayor Erin Mendenhall and Chief Mike Brown supported the officers, commending them for following proper departmental policy and procedure.
A few officers speaking off the record, under a promise of anonymity after hearing the remarks of the higher-ups, said they disagreed with the chief's assessment of the case. According to a local Salt Lake City news outlet, these officers say they would have rendered first aid to the man known as 'Outlaw.' However, they could not express that publicly, fearing someone in the department would retaliate against them. The Thin Blue Line can become a Great Blue Career Killer and sometimes a lifetaker if caught on the wrong side of the blue political divide.

Cop City doesn't just affect people in Atlanta, they want to bring cops from all around the world to be trained there in these abusive tactics.
Not to mention that distorting an old growth forest in the middle of climate crisis is something that should appalled by.
Even if you can't make it to the front lines StopCopCitySolidarity.org has many actions you can take where you live.

This doodle took way too long for something that looks incredibly rushed.
Roof Koreans, re-imagined.
Commissions (closed) | Instagram | Ko-Fi
My thoughts on the LA Riots of '92:
April 29, 1992. Sa-I-Gu. LA Riots of '92. The day racial tensions between the African American and Korean American communities within Los Angeles reached a tipping point. Many lives lost, many homes and businesses razed to the ground.
All in response to the undue cruelty experienced by Rodney King in the hands of a corrupt police department.
Many Korean-Americans lost their livelihoods, and even lives. But some chose to take up arms, for they saw they could not depend on the incredibly corrupt LAPD any longer.
Some may condemn the actions of the ones being called "Roof Koreans", deeming their actions anywhere between "callous" and (for some reason) racist.
I personally see their actions as, at worst, still very understandable. After all, many of them were at most vaguely aware of much of the surrounding events.

Tw// police brutality
I’ve seen nobody talking about the tragedy that happened here in Memphis. Tyre Nicholes was a 29 year old black, neroudivergent man. He was beat too death by a police force. 5 out of the 6 cops that did this are out on probation. The sixth hasn’t been charged. The mayor hasn’t spoken too peaceful protesters yet, and has shut the city down.

An Australian judge overseeing a case of police brutality stopped the trial, told the jury that no one could find the cop guilty, dismissed the jury, and acquitted the cop himself.

Newly released video shows retired D.C. police lieutenant Jesse Porter, who was conducting the training session, pulled his gun and shot 25-year-old mother and officer-in-training, Maurica Manyan in what his lawyer says was a horrible accident. The story is reminiscent of another accidental shooting of Daunte Wright by Kim Potter. Both of these officers were responsible for training other officers. Both of them had deadly accidents. Furthermore, evidence shows that better training doesn't lead to better officers. It is a persistent myth and narrative that prevents real, necessary reform when it comes to policing and public safety.

IMPORTANT!! RE:IRAN
cw//police brutality, violence against women in general (if theres anything else to add let me know)
so most of you probably dont know whats going on in iran right now, i would like to inform and spread the word because in all honesty its all i can do.
i’ll get to the point, Mahsa Amini, 22 female, was murdered by hijab police in Iran. Her family confirmed that she was beaten by police for the crime of wearing “bad hijab”  this isnt the first time that this is happening, it absolutely disgusts me to say but many get abused and hit both physically and mentally due to not “covering up properly” and speaking up against the absolute horrid situation and rules iran have put on women. there are endless videos online showing this and blood has been long since spilled at this point. there are many protest happening as we speak.  now i am not the best at explaining the situation because i am very stressed out because of the whole trahedy and police being all around the country but there are some great threads on twt that could get you up on speed on whats happening. HUGE CW FOR THESE. IF YOUR CANNOT HANDLE TOPICS LIKE THIS PLEASE DO NOT ENGAGE WITH IT, THANK YOU  threads:  [1]    [2]    [3]  and also on bbc news: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-62940907  this is not the only thing thats been happening, many others have been killed in these protests that i do not have the names of. two lgbtq+ activists have been arrested and put on a death sentence as well but i sadly do not have as much info on this as i would like to admit.  if anyone, ANYONE, wants to make a post regarding this or wants to do research and needs anything translated from persian to eng, they can contact me. there are many persian speaking people out there that would love to help and spread the word. please, be our voice. reblog, share, use the hashtags, anything would help spread the word so we arent forgotten under all of this tragedy.
