I have just (after 360+ hours of gameplay) finally seen 15 nosepass jump out of ore deposits.

Luna: "You came back!"
Here is my render for the third day of September! As was the case last year, it's depicting the moment when my self-insert Adriana finally reunited with Luna, after the several months she spent unable to reach her while stuck up in Carnelia. The background is supposed to be Iolia Valley, the area where Luna's Gym battle takes place! When I originally rendered (and later wrote out) this scene, Adri flew down to Luna on the back of her Honchkrow, Kelaino. However, she doesn't have one of those in this timeline of events anymore, so instead she's using her Drifblim, Drifter, as a hot-air balloon. We can pretend the basket's a held item.

IRL Pokémon asks: blog "canon" edition!
Since everyone has varying ideas on what is and isn't canon to their blog, here's a chance to talk about your ideas! What's canon to the games and shows doesn't mean it's canon to you.
Are Pokémon able to use more than four moves?
Can legendaries breed?
Do sentient/sapient Pokémon exist?
Are Pokémon all "standard" as their official designs or is there variation to their appearance?
Do hybrid (cross-breed) Pokémon exist?
Can people have more than 6 Pokémon to a team?
Do all Pokémon come from eggs?
Does everyone believe in mythical Pokémon?
Is it normal for 10 year olds to start a Pokémon journey?
Can legendaries be caught?
Do human-pokémon hybrids exist?
How truthful is the Pokédex?
Does cubone come from kangaskhan?
Why are most Pokémon Professors named after trees?
Do Pokémon have levels?
Can Pokémon that evolve in other ways besides leveling up (stones, friendship, trading, ect.) evolve naturally without those means?
Do Pokémon understand human speech?
Can shiny Pokémon pass down the trait to offspring?
Do IRL animals exist?
Do real world countries exist?
Do regions have more Gyms than just the ones you can challenge in-game?
Why are shiny Pokémon called shiny in-universe?
Are Pokémon strictly the typing they have in canon?
Does defeating the champion make someone the new champion?
What's a headcanon or lore drop you've desperately wanted to talk about but haven't gotten the chance to?

Okay tumblr, I need you to settle something for me.
My fiancé and I are currently both doing crazy video game challenges, and we can't agree on which of us is more unhinged; me for digging out a giant 64x64x127(length, width, depth) block hole in my single-player survival Minecraft world almost entirely by hand OR my fiancé for doing the Professor Oak's Challenge in Pokemon Legend Arceus.
For those not in the know, The Professor Oak's Challenge is a type of Pokemon challenge run where you are forbidden from moving on to the next gym/major area until you've finished the Pokédex page for every single Pokémon you can catch in your current area. So say you start a new file on FireRed, you can't fight Brock until every single Pokémon that is avaliable to you before hand has been registered in your dex, including evolutions. In regualr pokemon game this leads to a lot of grinding, since you have to do things like level your starter to it's final evolution, around level 30-35, by fighting pokemon that are level 2-5, but in Legends Arceus you have the added challenge of not having your pokedex pages count as "complete" until you fulfill a bunch of tasks like catching a certain number of them, or using a specific move in battle multiple times.
For my challenge, I'm just using like four enchanted netherite pickaxes, a beacon, and as much dynamite as I can scrounge together to clear out all the blocks in a 65 by 65 block square from a little below sea level all the way down to the bottom of the world. If I've done my math correctly each layer is 4,096 blocks, and I'm digging through roughly 127 layers, which all together means breaking ~520,192 blocks. According to my sources this would take around two months straight of 24/7 digging, but I've sped up the process with enchantments and the beacon and the dynamite. I'm also not planning on doing anything with the hole(though I have considered filling it with melons), I'm just digging bcs I find it meditative and for the satisfaction of a job well done.

Pokémon: Hollow Woods
Welcome to Oblar, a Pokémon region split between two factions. Your mother, the leader of the Lavender Faction, tasks you with researching Oblar's unique Pokémon species. But you find much more: an ancient and mysterious Pokémon, an organization with questionable motives, tales from Oblar's past, and plenty of intrigue... ...all centered around Oblar's Great Forest, where a powerful force is said to lurk.
This game aims to provide the nostalgiac feel of a Gen IV Pokémon game while refreshing some of the standard plot formula. You'll find gym puzzles and badges, a Pokémon professor, a rival, and other callbacks to canon Pokémon plots. At the same time, the game adds many new features (described below) and incentives for exploration, from sidequests with rare rewards to regional Pokémon that can only be found via thorough gameplay. It also asks new questions about the Pokémon world and its governance. Hopefully, this game will echo whatever drove you to play Pokémon games in the first place while giving you plenty of new content to enjoy!
Features:
A carefully curated regional Pokédex, featuring Pokémon and moves from the first 8 generations.
A balanced experience crafted by a team of competitive Pokémon players. Though this is by no means a "kaizo" game, it should be difficult enough to provide some challenge to even experienced players.
37 regional forms of existing Pokémon currently obtainable, with more planned for future releases.
39 formal side quests, plus a variety of smaller content unlockable through player interaction.
"Secret Spots" - areas accessible with a special item that contain rare Pokémon and/or items.
"Super trainers" - extra-challenging trainers that will challenge you only if you battle every other trainer on a route.
A variety of new game options, including Nuzlocke mode and level caps for those that want a difficult experience, as well as infinite rare candies and autoheal for those that want a more casual playthrough.
A custom soundtrack featuring remixed versions of existing Pokémon tracks, with more to come in future updates!
Exp. Share options - experience sharing can be disabled entirely, enabled from the Bag to give Exp. to all Pokémon, or given to one specific Pokémon to share Exp. with just that Pokémon.
In-game time cycles with no relation to real time, enabling the player to find different Pokémon available only at certain times of day.
Some of your favorite characters from canon Pokémon games have cameo appearances.

Would A Fennekin Be A Good Pet?
Tumblr media
It’s Indigo Disk release day! Or, well, it sort of came out last night where I live. But anyways! I hope everyone who plays has fun with it! For today’s Indigo Disk Week post, let’s take a look at the fantastic fan-favorite fennekin! Anyone familiar with this blog won’t be surprised to hear that fennekin, a fire-type starter, gets a B rank. While some particularly prepared people may be able to handle a fennekin, they might not be the best pets for some owners.
They check all the pet compatibility boxes that all starters have so far. Fennekins are the perfect size to be a pet, and their friendliness is second to none. As common first partner pokémon for trainers in the Kalos Region, fennekins have a long history of being great companions open to training. Also, unlike some fire-type pokémon, fennekins don’t have any open flames on their bodies. While they are a bit of a fire hazard (more on that later), they aren’t as rough as some. That being said, be very careful when handling a fennekin: their huge (adorable) ears act as vents for hot air generated when they eat that can reach temperatures as hot as 390 degrees Fahrenheit (X)!
Unfortunately, there isn’t very much data in the pokédex about wild fennekin behavior. We do know that they like to munch on twigs, which allows them to build up the hot air inside their bodies which they can use for various means (X, Y). It’s unclear if twigs are the only thing that fennekins eat. I’d suggest feeding your fennekin alternative snacks in order to prevent the build-up of dangerous heat, but there isn’t enough information to decide whether or not fennekins need to eat twigs or build up said heat to survive.
The heat that fennekins build up can be used in battle to make use of a variety of fire-type moves that present significant risks of harm to you and your home. Fire-type starter classics like Fire Spin and Flamethrower are there, as well as a handful of psychic attacks for good measure. If a fennekin were to attack you, the results could be disasterous. As far as we know, this species isn’t particularly aggressive. When facing a threat, they first try to intimidate their foe with puffs of hot air through their ears (Y), so at the very least you would have some warning before an attack occurred. With proper training, the risks associated with keeping a fennekin may be mitigated (and who knows, maybe they don’t need their twig snacks to survive anyways), but we do need to consider these risks. Accidents happen, as do tantrums and play that gets out of hand.
If you are someone who is prepared to take on the risks inherent to fire-type pokémon (and invest in some fire-proof furniture for good measure), you should be able to handle a fennekin with little issue. However, if you are inexperienced with this type of pokémon, a fennekin might be too big a challenge to meet safely. All that being said, I know I’m not gonna stop anyone from adopting a fennekin. It’s fennekin!

Pokédex Challenge
So I've been doing a self-imposed challenge in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, where I'm trying both to PERFECT (not just complete) the pokédex (all task for all pokémon complete) and to have a living specimen-dex (a sample pokémon of each species, not just regular, but alpha AND SHINY where possible).
So far (at just shy of 366 hours of gameplay) I have:
157 perfect entries (out of 242 for 66.9% goal completion)
85 complete specimens (out of 242* for 35.1$ goal completion)
The intersection of this is 50 pokémon that i have both on and never have to worry about again (unless they're trying to kill me). Out of the 242 pokémon in the PLA pokédex, that's just over 20 percent (22.3% to be exact).
*There are 18 mythicals and legendaries that are one-time only catches, I am counting that 1 pokémon as a "complete specimen"
P.S. Fun fact! Did you know that spiritomb can spawn where you first caught him after the quest. I was quite surprised to be randomly attacked by a spiritomb up there.

Being the son of Lenora and starting in Pokémon school on Alola… + getting your first Pokémon…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Magmortar x Male Reader (Partners)
Warnings: Fluff
Summary: You’re the son of Lenora and you’re finally old enough to start you own journey as a trainer and you decide to start on Melemele island…
——
”Come on mom, hurry!” you said to your mother as you ran along the passenger dock. ”Calm down Y/n, were in no hurry” Lenora said patiently to her son. ”But mom the sooner we get to Professor Kukui, the sooner i can get Pokeballs and a Pokedex” you whined.
”Well at least your looking forward to see me” a voice said and you turned to see Professor Kukui and Ash and his Pikachj waiting. ”Hi Lenora, Hi Y/n” Ash greeted you. ”Hi Ash, Hi Pikachu, it’s been a while” your mother said remembering him from challenging her gym.
They took you and your mother to Kukui’s house where you would be living with him and Ash while attending the Pokémon School. After you settled in your mother traveled back to the Unova reigon.
And as you had hoped you received Pokéballs and a Pokédex so you could go explore the island and maybe even catch your first Pokémon. Ash and Pikachu were determined to help you do that and the three of you went out to the forest to try find a Pokémon for you.
As you looked through the forest you spotted a Ribombee and wanted to attempt to catch it but it spotted you and flew away. But you refusing to give up gave chase after it accidentally leaving Ash and Pikachu behind.
You ran further in to the forest until the Ribombee managed to get out of your sight. You stopped and look around the woods thinking ”Wait, where am i?”. ”Ash?” You asked looking between the trees.
”Ash, where are you?!” You asked louder but no answer came. Then you felt a drop of water on your head, then a second one and then a third one. After a while rain started pouring heavily, along with loud thunder and lightning strikes.
You ran through the forest trying to look for somewhere to take cover until the storm was over. You eventually reached a cave that you quickly ran in to. Your clothes were wet and cold as you got out of the rain.
You sat down and rested looking out in to the storm, hoping Ash and Pikachu had found cover. You opened your backpack to bring out the lunch you had packed but was interrupted when you heard a loud echo coming from deeper inside the cave.
Curiosity took over and you decided to deeper in to the cave. The deeper you got the louder the noises became. Then you came to the source of loud noise, it was a large red Pokémon laying on it’s back.
You brought out your Pokédex it said ”Magmortar, the Blast Pokémon and the evolved form of Magmar. It launches fireballs that can reach temperatures over 3,600 degrees from the ends of its arms and lives in volcanic craters”.
”Should probably try to stay away from that one” you said to yourself and turned to leave when it made a loud noise once more, it sounded like it was in pain. You knew it was a dangerous mission to try and help it but you were willing to take that risk.
You slowly approaced the Magmortar saying softly ”Magmortar, are you okay?” You said while getting closer, observing so it wouldn’t burn you. It looked towards you and immediately sat up growling, trying to swing at you with it’s arm.
But then it just fell over again laying on it’s back, writhing in pain. You tried to get closer but it growled angrily at you. ”Calm down, i want to help” you said inching slightly closer, but it was still growling with hostility.
You then got an idea, you opened your backpack and took out some berries you had brought incase you caught a Pokémon. You put them on the cave floor between you and Magmortar.
Magmortar stopped growling and smelled the air, smelling the berries. It reached out for one but winced in pain as it did. ”Don’t worry, i’ll help” you said getting carefully closer to it. It stopped growling but still looked suspiciously at you.
You held a berry to it’s mouth and it ate it cheewing slowly. You slowly fed it all the berries while soothingly petting it.
From then on it seemed to have accepted your presence as it stopped growling at you. You then sat down on next to it eating your own packed lunch while it rested.
While it rested you touched it’s forehead, it was cold, which probably wasn’t very since it was a fire type. So you got a blanket out of your backpack and draped it over Magmortar. Magmortar made a grateful noise. It reached out and pulled you closer.
You sat down leaning against Magmortar and rested for a few hours until the sound of rain outside stopped. By then Magmortar had started regaining it’s body heat and managed to stand up again without wincing.
You and Magmortar made your way to the cave opening together looking out in to the damp forest. ”I need to get going, i need to find my friend but it was nice to meet you, goodbye Magmortar” you said to it.
But as you attempted to walk away it followed you, you looked at it ”Do you wanna come with me?” you asked suprised. ”Magmortar” it growled happily. You brought out a pokéball and bumped it against the big Pokémon.
It went inside the pokéball which shook three times and then made a weird noise which you assumed meant you had caught it. You let Magmortar out and you wandered until you came across Ash and Pikachu.
”Y/n, i’m so happy you’re- Y/n, theres a Magmortar following you” Ash said in shock. You told him about the cave and Ash congratulated you on your first Pokémon.
When you showed Professor Kukui he was impressed you had managed to capture a fully evolved Pokémon as your first ever capture.
And when you had a video call with your mom and dad they almost had a heart attack when they saw Magmortar.

New Pokémon Scarlet Violet info
Regions name is Paldea, and it's largest city, Mesagoza, sits in the center of the region.
The player character is enrolled in either Naranja Academy or Uva Academy, depending on your version.
The rotom phone makes a return.
New regional form for Wooper, it's now a Poison/Ground type.
Tumblr media
Legendaries are confirmed rideable! They have 3 forms, which can be used to explore the land, sea, and sky.
No set path for the gym challenge!
We've got some new pokémon! Fidough is a Fairy type, and is described as a puppy pokémon, while Cetitan is an ice type, described as the Tera Whale Pokémon.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The pokédex seems to take on a very new form!
The Gemmick is called "Terastal" and causes pokémon to shiny like gems. Some pokémon will change type! It will depend on that pokémon's Tera Type. Pokémon will typically remain the same type, but some pokémon will have different types, it seems to be random.
When a pokémon Terastallizes, a Tera Jewel appears above the Pokémon’s head like a crown, and the Pokémon’s body glistens like a cut gemstone.
Players can Terastallize a Pokémon once per battle and the transformation will last until the battle ends, and will need a Tera Orb to Terastallize a Pokémon, which will need to be recharged after each use. They can be recharged with crystals or by visiting a pokemon center.
You may catch pokémon with different Tera types in Tera-raid battles! Similar to raid battles from SWSH.

▲ Subway to Stardew - Ingo 10-Heart Event ▲
This plays after getting at least 10 hearts with Ingo and entering the Railroad after 7PM.
We made a few assets for this event! You can see the uncropped abandoned junction + stargazing maps and full Jirachi visual below! There's also some commentary on the process of making this event under the read-more!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ingo’s 10-heart event was really fun to put together! And quite the process as well.
It really was! The idea of a stargazing date with Ingo was actually one of the first few event ideas we came up with... but it only really existed in imagery. We knew we wanted to have Ingo and the farmer stargaze atop an abandoned train car, but we weren't quite confident in how the event would play out exactly until quite recently (I actually only got the inspiration on how to finish it about 3 days ago! It sat partially done up until the Bidoof scene for a few months!).
During the idea phase, we were stumped on what to do for a 10-hearted event. Now I’m not the best when it comes to writing romance or dating scripts so when we came up with a stargazing event idea…. Let's say…. The draft sat dormant for about a week or two and I went off to write the other heart events or help with asset creating in between.
It underwent a lot of revisions after the draft was made, the original didn't even have Emmet come in at all! I didn't get the idea to make Emmet eavesdrop (super obviously intruding as per the manga) during Ingo's date until after I finished Ingo's 8-heart event. Ingo's 8-heart event was originally quite bare-bones itself, consisting of just a confession that you could either accept or reject and ends with a single line about getting teased by Emmet and Elesa (which is mostly there to write around the idea of dating both twins at the same time... it would be too hard to implement... in this mod they both have no idea how the other feels and their overall lack of communication comes into play in the 6-heart events). I wanted the idea of a library confession to be a little more interesting and specific to Ingo, so I decided to let him get blackmailed by the kids out of his sweet tooth. From there, I wanted to show exactly why Ingo would want to keep his love life a secret from Emmet for as long as possible- he's a menace. Station Stewardess Kade's area of expertise is angst so the original draft focused more on the stress of work... we ended up having more than enough events regarding that and how hard it is for the twins in the valley, so I tried my best to steer it more towards the cheesy romance that the vanilla 10 heart events tend to focus on. After everything, I thought Ingo needed some fluff and time to just enjoy himself with the person he loves while being himself at full-steam (along with Emmet... this is the first event where his engine is at full capacity for his usual antics). Ingo still does have a tendency to talk about his job, but I tried to change things to have him infodump about his interests (trains, Pokémon, and battling!) to show that- despite the challenges on the tracks ahead of him- he does truly enjoy his line of work!
Which helped spark many ideas! Especially with the telling of Jirachi! (I loved Pokémon and The Wish Maker)
Ingo is dedicated to his profession as a Battle Facility Head because he has an interest in Pokémon. We wanted to lean into how ideal he would be if he were tasked with spreading his knowledge in a land where Pokémon relations aren't commonplace. His memory would be great for kickstarting the creation of a Pokédex... Anyways! He really does appreciate the vastness of space and tends to become sidetracked. I was hoping to convey that during his infodump on Jirachi!
Jirachi itself was drawn by me (Station Stewardess Kade) while the background, clean-up, and amazing pixel shading were done by Station Steward Thylak! This is one of my favorite parts of this event! And they truly brought Jirachi to life that I would never be able to do. (Background-wise.. and pixel art-wise.)
Thank you to Station Stewardess Kade for drawing them! The drafts were really fun to see and polish up!! I've become more confident in my shading and pixel art because of this project!
So here are some early drafts of Jirachi and my poor first attempt at this pixel art. As well as a sketch draft of trying to visualize the event.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I ended up making the farmer leaning on Ingo visual into a map! It was originally going to be a visual like Jirachi's, but a whole event with two frames for all of Ingo's infodumping wouldn't be very immersive... It would be hard to add in things like the usual 10-heart event kisses and animations. They were originally going to sit and look up at the stars but..... farmer animations are finicky. The game does not like making the farmer sit in events if not from the side... even then, I can't do anything about the shadows not being in the right place. If I try to add in any other sitting frames for the farmer, they turn into a bowling pin.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The original Jirachi drawings were actually too big for a Stardew map so I had to resize them using the dimensions of Sebastian's mountain scene as a reference (I didn't realize that his 10-heart event has special handling that forces the camera to be zoomed out at the max setting to properly frame the entire map until it was too late... Oh well! I'm happy with the pan effect I added to counter that!). The final background/Millennium Comet takes inspiration from the comet in Maru's event!
Funny enough while Jirachi was currently being drawn, Pokémas had just recently released the Tate and Liza Sync Pair event - Twin Stars Far Apart (I got Tate and Jirachi as a Sync Pair pull!)
It was a fun coincidence! We wanted this event to be fluffy with a tinge of bittersweetness/impending doom from alluding to Ingo getting sent to Hisui in the future... Jirachi didn't relate to that much but then Pokémas decided to split another pair of twins apart!
Now we have also made a custom map! I made the area map while Thylak did any cleanup and adjustments, and also did the custom map for the actual stargazing bit. It was my first time using Tiled! Below are some of the map processes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kade is really good at planning out map layouts! I was surprised at how quickly she learned how to use Tiled! The bush that the Bidoof disappears into was added on a whim. It was originally going to disappear into the bush to the right but... I got impatient waiting for it to walk all the way over there. Our events are long enough already.
We have some events in mind, that will have assets just like this - we truly want to put in the work and effort for this mod, there’s only so much story you can tell when using plain vanilla maps. This is honestly one of my favorite events I have worked on with Thylak, and I’m excited about what else is in store! (*Gives big hug to Thylak*)
I'm really happy with how this event turned out too! Thank you to Kade for coming up with the ideas and scripts for me to polish! You do so much!! The other events may take a while to finish as we need to make more maps and assets, but we hope you like seeing them! We don't quite have a script or know how Emmet's events will play out yet exactly, but they should be fun if Ingo's event process is anything to go by!
We also want everyone to know (this was brought up and mentioned in the Tumblr comments of the last Ingo Heart event we posted)
We are aware that not everyone will want to date the twins in this mod! The main focus of the mod is to rebuild the railroad but to also enjoy the characters that are Ingo and Emmet through both Canon and some Fanon interpretations! Even though we are following the basic Stardew Valley format when it comes to villagers (Bachelors and Bachelorettes) we plan to after the first initial release of the mod make a Platonic Relationship version! Many of the heart events will have to be redone during that time! (Ingo mostly… Emmet is easy to do)
Yes... I had a more clear idea of how Emmet's heart progression would go when starting to make this mod (he's slow to trust people and is iffy on the farmer until 6-hearts in but then gets verrrry attached to his best friend) but weren't quite sure what a particularly meaningful friendship with Ingo would go. Since we were referencing the vanilla Stardew Valley events/heart progressions for Ingo, his development is more romantic in nature. When we do create full-platonic routes for the twins, Ingo's progression will need a complete overhaul while Emmet will only need changes from 8-hearts onwards.
We truly want this mod to be enjoyable for those of you who don’t want to date or are uncomfortable with the notion of dating a fictional character (Myself and Thylak are okay with this since we created OCs/Self Inserts and we create and share stories with each other, during our time working on the mod)
We do know a lot of people project onto submas and would prefer there to be platonic options when playing their heart progressions! Even without that, I feel like a platonic route for Ingo is much needed since playing with the intent to romance Emmet alone is a bit awkward at the moment (I personally don't have much of a choice since I need to code and debug all of the events anyways, but I still feel bad betraying Emmet! He doesn't like sharing!).
The focus is actually the story of Ingo and Emmet being in Stardew Valley. And that can be told either through the Dating Route or the future Platonic Route.
If anyone has any ideas or input regarding how they would want a Platonic Route with Ingo to go, please feel free to share them with us! We have... no idea how that will play out just yet.
For now, though we have the basic Stardew Dating Vanilla format, and on the future track’s ahead a Platonic Relationship format.
With all that said, we look forward to sharing more about the mod. I hope you enjoy the process breakdown.
Thank you for reading! We hope you enjoy what we're conducting!

if florian did manage to beat kieran in the bb champion match, ( i'm still debating if i wanna keep that in mjverse's canon or not, ) i feel like he'd definitely refuse to accept the champion title.
he didn't take on the bb league to become champion, he took it on so he could face kieran again. he never would've challenged the league if kieran wasn't apart of it, let alone attended bb academy as an exchange student if he wasn't there, so taking up the position doesn't feel right to him.
that and it's not exactly something he's passionate about, he'd much rather be exploring the terarium at his leisure and filling his pokédex. kid's a pokémon fanatic first and foremost, after all.

Encouraging Pokémon fans to try the Mystery Dungeon series if you want something new!
Especially Explorers of Sky!
"I wish the gameplay had more depth than type advantages and RNG." Items are essential, combos are possible, and positioning is mandatory.
"I wish the stories had depth." It goes harder and darker than any mainline game and I promise the ending will make you cry.
"I wish the bosses were challenging." While not overly difficult once you know how to use the mechanics to their fullest, you can and will get your ass kicked at first. And rom hacks exist to make it harder.
"I wish I could obtain every Pokémon without trading and events." Every single one is there. All of them. You can play as any Pokémon given enough time. Explorers of Sky goes up to Gen IV but romhacks add some later ones.
"I wish the lore and characters were deeper." You know all those ridiculous Pokédex entries? They're all canon. If a Pokémon plays a major role in the story, it's not just for show. Their lore is relevant.
And on top of all that, the music is legit fire.
