"A Poor Man's Simple Luxury" by Peter Dome Poetrydome worldwide - https://www.facebook.com/groups/885869628090321/ Peter Dome Poet - https://www.facebook.com/Peter-Dome-Poet-112091340427571/
"It was on one glorious summers day To savour and to treasure One of those blissful days You hoped would last forever . I was idly watching the world go by In a city park When suddenly someone caught my eye A disheveled old man I could tell by his look and clothes Was a homeless vagrant vagabond And a man of the road His hair unkempt and matted His old overcoat had patches to cover the holes His worn shoes looked like a gapping fish I could see his toes peeping through . He was perched on a bench Probably his makeshift home With his belongings in carrier bags Sat all alone His tar stained fingers clutched a smouldering Roll up cigarette And what he did next I’ll never forget . Suddenly he raised his face to the sky To catch the warm suns rays And with a hint of a smile He closed his baggy eyes The light highlighted The furrows and wrinkles formed over the years Etched on his face But he didn’t care For this was his special moment In a wondrous place . It made my heart smile As he enjoyed the pleasant sun for a while . It was then it suddenly dawned on me This man had so little in the world But for one special brief moment He was happy basking in life’s simple luxury Something even he could afford And the best thing of all it was free . I looked away for a moment To search my pockets for money My head to the ground And when I looked up again Money now found Was an empty bench And a burning spent discarded cigarette And a magical moment I’ll never forget . For I learned there are something's That money cannot buy I should be grateful and treasure the simple things And how lucky and fortunate was I But unlike me His life wasn’t so complicated he wasn’t shackled Although his life maybe tough He wasn’t a caged bird as I For he was free."

"Ambient Moon" by Peter Dome Poetrydome worldwide - https://www.facebook.com/groups/885869628090321/ Peter Dome Poet - https://www.facebook.com/Peter-Dome-Poet-112091340427571/
"Captivated and fascinated By the ambient opalescent luminous moon In all it’s brazen naked glory Mystical and awe inspiring To observer man Since ancient times When time itself began . Such beauty resides In twinkling diamond studded Velvet dark soft evening skies It’s power is such It affects our mood And the restless folding waves and tides . Inspiring artist and poet alike to create And scholars of old to debate The omnipresent orb that is the moon Under which countless couples have fell in love Romanced and swooned And dreamed."

"Hello Poetry" by Alexandro Botelho
"Writing this one on the spot no judgement for the words that come up hip..hop...flip... lol just playing what words will be spoken today? which ones wave hello and smile excitedly? You, over there! The word on the tip of my tongue traveled at the speed of light from my mind's eye Aha! I see you leap into the air fluttering your syllables and floating landing on a friendly ear. Or maybe unfriendly. Like a potion or a poison It's not my concoction I'm reading it just like you sitting and thinking "oh that's nice" "I don't get it" "haha lol rofl" Did I do it? Did I make a poem? I don't know, I planted all these word seeds maybe they'll grow into poetrees. Did I do it? I don't know, but here it is!"

We all are immortal but we all still need to die. It doesn't matter if you're old or young, you still had plenty of time. Tomorrow the fallen will rise again but today you all shall sleep tonight.

"Deep in the sprawling evergreen Of leafy Nottinghamshire Among the boughs of Sherwood forest's Mighty oak and shady lofty trees Where the majestic deer father in the glen Where many a tale of folk law A bard Has told You will always find a piece of me As the water flows on the river Trent Weaving it's way through a patchwork land As far as one's eyes can see It carries my soul And is a piece of me My special place I am so drawn to The place I dream and makes me happy My escape my sanctuary The place my heart calls home Such a big part of me Nottingham and all it's wonders Is a place I long to be."

"Murmurations" by Peter Dome Poetrydome worldwide - https://www.facebook.com/groups/885869628090321/ Peter Dome Poet - https://www.facebook.com/Peter-Dome-Poet-112091340427571/
"As thickening dusk Subdues the retiring day Flocks of glossy plumaged  starlings Tired from a day of foraging and squabbling Now Repair to rest Congregate on mass Within the close proximity Of togetherness . Trilling and chattering in nosy array Perch upon the tendril branches of trees High up in the boughs towering eves As numbers increase In readiness . Suddenly they alight as one The tress now bare Of feather laden leaves As though they were never there Take to wing and perform One of the most spectacular and awe inspiring Phenomenal sights of creation has begun   . A dense shifting cloud of wing and feather Perfectly synchronized With regimental precision and formation   Put on the most magnificent air display That has mystified and captured the observer Since the Dawn of time Taking their breath away . A swooping sweeping darting turning Agile cloud cavorts across the expanse of sky An elaborate dance of in perfect formation To the beholder a revelation Skillfully changing direction in a flash As they fly . Athletic acrobatic hasty and agile That few words can explain or testify . The acrobatics now over The sky naked once more The showy performers Descend to the trees towering eves To rest and to roost Like artificial Abundant  leaves."

You cannot appreciate the sun without the miserable rain, the big blue sky without the grey clouds, flowers without dead leaves, winter without a summer and sorrow without joy. We would be mindless beings of a single form of existence without opposites or variations. And so love is only appreciated after pain and growth only begins after being buried in the dirt. Humanity exists because it is a continuous choice between good and evil.

The stars are shining blue and I never truly knew, how the winds are in my sails but my heart stays with you.
For my lovely maid back home, I sing this song for you, and maybe I come back tomorrow or maybe I never do.
Don't wait my love, my forever, for I do not know these shores.
I might be back tomorrow or the sea will swallow me whole.

"Come What May" by Peter Dome Poetrydome worldwide - https://www.facebook.com/groups/88586... Peter Dome Poet - https://www.facebook.com/Peter-Dome-P...
"May comes in a blaze of glory Opening natures treasure chest The spectacular hawthorn adorns It’s pretty wedding gown And the perky trilling Robin Wears it’s Sunday best . The vibrant flowers open their hearts To the warm rays of the sun Butterflies flirt and flutter In an arial delicate ballet   A soft caressing teasing breeze Tickles the abundant paper lie leaves Throughout the glorious day . The majestic cows chew the cud The fleecy lamb's bleat run and play The blackbird joyfully sings at dusk And heralds in a new born day . Vibrant lush green carpets And clothed trees Sweep through valley and hill As idle days standstill And lazy trout Occasionally pout and try To kiss the sky , Soon the boisterous purging wind Will blow and the may blossom Wedding gown will be torn down Falling like confetti and screw across Littering the ground Until next year When May reapers."

"Tick     Tock" by Alexandro Botelho
"I'm not anything that I ever thought I'm not a boy or a man I'm not young or old I'm not tall or short I'm not happy or depressed I'm not confident or shy I'm not smart or dumb I'm not handsome or ugly I'm not better or worse So often wanting to be the right thing at the right time But time is always moving and no thing is always right all the time And really, time is just a belief Is it half past 9 or half before 10? Does one sound right, and the other sound wrong? They say the same thing Just a matter of perspective Balanced on the source of perception Not moving, not changing Always here"

Chinatown (Villanelle)
For another dead girl in Chinatown Was discarded in an alley stairwell, Where green shards of jade shiver on the ground.   Hanging paper lanterns don’t make a sound Afraid to confess they heard the death knell, For another dead girl in Chinatown.   The lion dancers prance around and round Outside the Dumpling House; they do not dwell, Where green shards of jade shiver on the ground.   Orchids and good fortune can still be found Inside the Hot Pot Buffet; yet there’s hell, For another dead girl in Chinatown.   Of this inheritance, why are we bound To hate? In this vibrant place I can’t tell, Where green shards of jade shiver on the ground.   Against vile racism we must resound Ere the dragons mourn the next ringing bell For another dead girl in Chinatown, Where green shards of jade shiver on the ground.

Original writing by Alexandro Botelho
"It is so beautiful the magic planted everywhere. Sprouting and blooming into endless life, growing into itself like a kaleidoscope looking in to infinity Little seeds blown on the wind and taking root in the most perfect place and time Nutrients from cosmic past arriving themselves fresh ingredients for an endless feast feasting on themselves the experience of becoming anew A new form the same as the old that never ages Only joy, and peace, and love the perfumes of these constant and silent exchanges."

Dear diary.
I'm just so tired. Tired of everything.
I cannot even lift a hand, or know why I cried.
I feel no hunger and I only want to sleep.
This darkness has just started slowly killing me.

brooding Earth mother
arms wide open
let me return right back to her
let me receive her sweet kiss
her incessant love
only a reminder of where to look
for her adoration
she is deep in the eyes of all
buried in the hearts of the living
she tells you stories of man
with a single glance
she’s a silent kin-slayer
singing bad and good into balance
she speaks a language of harmony
that everyone understands
swallow me whole
so i can sleep through this sleepless night
Gaea sings to us through starless skies
reminding us that we are all the same,
there is unity in the eye of the beholder.
