Making this post in light of the International Poetry Day. This poem is specifically about Greece but I chose this verse because I liked its sound and the imagery it created and I hoped it could resonate with all people for what they consider their own fatherland or simply home. ❤️
Bubbles drifting across the blue, blue sky
My inner child has awoken
Blissful serenity shields me for fleeting moments
And though I must be
Responsible
Mature
Docile
The hurrying rush of life does not penetrate
My calmness
Innocence
Peacefulness
Laughing children run past with their parents, unaware
Of the cruel, beautiful world around them
And
I see a flash
Just for a moment
Of my younger self
