I will kiss
you, always.
When you are,
here, when you
are gone, when
your lips are
blue and
rotten; I
will always
need to, want
to kiss you. So
your coffin
or mine?
by me

Fuschia Mists
She floats in fuschia mists beneath the towering birch
A voyager from constellations far
Bringing her dreams to life
She has the aura of a star
She blazes true and bright
A sweet soulful seer
Born of a winter kiss
Devoid of earthly fear
Truth shines, awakened
Within her cerulean eyes
An infinite soul in motion
beneath clear saccharine skies
Her laughter is filled with rainbows
Like a meadow in full bloom
Her wild heart illuminating
The bleakest blackened gloom
Breathing ancient magic
She lingers for loves knowledge
A mirror of all the seasons
A tempest of passion and courage
A warrior, a poet
A fierce protective aspiration
A promise in disguise
A delicate affirmation

Good Morning
Today I'll wake up like a flower.
I'll feel the wind on my skin.
I'll open my eyes
And look out at the skies.
I'll remember there's hope
And I'll grin.

I am a blue girl
when I was 7 years old,
I thought I was purple
only after reading “the purple crayon”
of course—
why wouldn’t I be anything but
as majestic
as fun
as powerful or
as bold
as purple so seems to be?
when I was 14 years old,
I thought I was mustard yellow
only after scrolling through
poems written by sunflowers on tumblr
of course—
why wouldn’t I be anything but
as bright
as beautiful
as loud or
as bubbly
as mustard yellow seems to be?
I am 22 years old,
and I am a blue girl
only after coming to terms with the hues,
of course— am I a blue girl
why wouldn’t I be anything but
as intuitive
as sensitive
as imaginative or
as deep as blue so is?
maybe that’s why
I walk in the creek
as though every ripple I make
is so imperative,
maybe that’s why
I crave to be lying in the sand
listening to the roar of the ocean,
the only time I’ll allow the sun to engulf me
maybe that’s why
the sound of rain,
especially on a tin roof soothes me so
I am a blue girl
I am not purple
I am not mustard yellow
But I am every blue hue imaginable
I am every blue thought
I am every blue wave
every ripple
every drop

I see you there inside my mind ,
Always haunting never leaving.
You got me tightly in this bind.
Why am I like this?
Spiraling out of control.
Why do you haunt my waking moments.
My dreams, see no relief
I'm exhausted all the time.
Sleep eludes,
And awake is torture.
Leave my mind, i beg you now.

Ruba'i by the Sufi poet Mahsati (1098–1185), translated by Paul Smith
After nearly 900 years, Mahsati is highly respected for her courageous poetry that condemned religious fanaticism and prejudices, hypocrisy and dogmas. In the city of Ganjeh in Azerbaijan, a street and a school, an academic institution, a museum and others have been named after her.
