Wedding

a wasp waist seemed to wrap around

the whole conversation,

and all of the dancers —

they looked cast iron in comparison

to the wild, rabid arms

and heavy boots on the sprung floor

and the sniper rifle grins

surrounded by dusty sheets

and an antique set of ivories

since, when music grows louder,

the circus moves faster still

and the questions fly

One star's glowing by the moon,

Grey dots can't be seen from the ground,

Every brush and glitters, how many do we touch?

Many stay untouched,

Grey letters on white stars, they look like warm hugs,

This dark night, it's like those one of many,

Ways we think we should go, and we should,

But let's take some time, taking a break beside this roadside,

And one litter star is so little,

Like a grey stone in a black soil,

Your today, and tomorrow,

Like one star that's growing everyday,

One grey dot, it grows, and then glitters,

And you did so well today;

A grey dot, what does it do?

Maybe thoughts like this and many,

Going through that space between heart and soul,

But it's okay, let's take time,

Let's watch these stars that's glowing today,

'Cause life goes on,

It takes time, and the tomorrow you want,

It will be on your doorsteps,

After some sleep and sound nights,

One grey dot, it grows it only does, and then glitters,

And you did so well again today,

You're glowing everyday.

the Worst Part

The worst

Part is you're alive.

Pulsing throat,

And a nauseous belly.

The price to wake up

On a Monday, or whenever

You’re hit in a week,

Is heartaches, disappointments.

There is no way to get to Friday

Without them. I'm sorry. We all are.

But forget these feelings,

Enough to allow space for others.

Enough so as not to experience

Anguish for the first time on Sunday.

You will take all of it—

Pain and joy and the in-between

—Tomorrow. So take an umbrella.

When you ask yourself, “Why stay here, where

I lose and grieve?”, remember that most things

Come back in different forms,

And there are reasons we are beautiful,

And worth falling in love with.

You have the right to be here.

Stay—and watch the clouds pass

Again, and again.

You belong.

You had me..... You had me in your wallet for about years... Wherever you went You took me with you... Highs and lows From street vendors to airports... I have seen coins and heavy notes... I have seen empty compartments and your newest debit cards... I have seen grocery lists and broken buttons next to me too... Your dad never saw me though... Every time he checked your wallet.. you made sure To put me back So he won't know our little secret... I guess I gave you enough reasons to take me out of our home... I miss the ambiance Miss the jingling sound of coins and the smell of crunchy notes... I'm back to where I started in the first place... All I'm left with is your thumb and index's touch When you lifted me and put me between the pages of my journal. .. Was I too heavy for you? Did my eyes bother you? Did I not love you enough to make up for all that hurt? Guess you don't want to know... Guess we'll never know... . . .

i cut your hair in the kitchen, the length of your neck to your chest held tightly in my fist. you let me clean up the ends with a kitchen knife because you told me you’d remember it better. some days i think i want to leave myself behind and turn into a bird or some other woodland creature that doesn’t have to worry about silly things like gender or love. when i picture myself in my head i look vastly different than i do in the mirror and i don’t know how to bridge that gap. i get scared whenever i try to change myself, that i might start feeling ugly and sick all over again and i won’t be able to press the undo button. a part of myself thinks that i’d like to walk down the street and leave people wondering what i am but another part of me wants to succumb to the lipstick and new mascaras on the shelves of the cosmetic stores. i tell myself the only thing that is important is what the plants on my windowsill think of me but sometimes they tell me in my dreams that i’m not worth anything and i wake up sweating and wondering if i’ll ever be as brave as you.

There's this sadness in loving,

'Cause loving can hurt,

'Cause all these love sometimes, they become a little heavy,

With those tears we hold inside,

And we're just some fragile people in a lonely night,

All this making it harder than it was to breathe yesterday;

There's this sadness about all days,

Now that we're young,

It hurts a little more,

But we're some strong people,

So we look away from scars and it hurts more,

We don't care, but it's not enough,

Then the seasons change, and it gets colder,

There's this sadness in winter,

Those celebrations, all and everywhere,

People dancing, singing together, this road a little less lonely,

We don't hate it, maybe that's the thin line keeping us sane,

Telling us we're still alive,

And the more we love each other,

The more we help each other,

To sing and dance,

The more it tells us, but we don't listen,

All these things I say to you,

Smile and I'll too,

I failed to do so.
