It's Rumi, Darwish, Rabindranath, Sarojini Naidu, Li Bai and Matsuo Basho too. Dark Academia is more than just France, Britain, Greece and Italy. It's also Iran, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, China, Japan and many many more.

Week 09.19.22

Monday: Great day I went to senior seminar, it is a graduate preparation class. We have to create presentations on the readings and critique one another. The Professor has not been happy with our performance so far. 😂

Tuesday: The morning started out productive. I finished my notes on Plato’s Gorgias. The rest of the day I was a potato 🥔

Wednesday: I I finished the next chapter of my reading for Senior seminar. Then clocked in for my 6 hour shift.

Thursday: Anxiety won. I was a potato 🥔

Friday: I went to work. I was too tired to study.

This week all in all was ok. I didn’t get as much done as I wanted. The possibility that is perfectionism talking is high. But a work in progress is a process.I learned how to make the Caramel Frappuccino at home. I have solved one problem to create another. I love it here.

♡Introducing Myself♡

Hello! My name is Mari and there's not a lot for me to say about myself, I'm a 23 y.o lab assistant who also loves to draw pretty girls and is really into dark academia and the whole magic private school aesthetic.

For a while now I've been sort of cultivating a little story that centers around my OCs. To be frank- I have a shit ton of OCs, I take a lot of inspiration from different cultures and nationalities so all of my OCs come from many regions of the world, from the beautiful mayan villages in Mexico to the gorgeous high mountains in China. I love learning about new cultures and they always inspire me to create a character from that place.

Soo, with all these different characters in my head I'm like "how am I going to have all my characters interact with eachother if some live like a gazillion miles away from eachother?" Then I thought....why not a school? Not just a school, a ☆Magic School☆, where people who have magical powers from all around the world can study and learn?

That is how Windsor Academy of Specialties was born.

Brief summary: Windsor Academy is a prestigious international school where students with magical abilities known as "specialties" can learn to not just control their powers but to also grow as individuals. Windsor's motto is "After darkness, light." I want to create a place where hope thrives and voices can be heard.

University was a really tough and lonely time for me. I spend days crying over exams, alone in my dorm and struggling with trying to make friends in a place where I felt like I didn't deserve to be in. And I know that many other people have had similar experiences. That is why I made Windsor Academy of Specialties, to help people have that second chance in their uni life where you can have fun, make friends and feel supported by everyone.

I'm dedicating this blog to Windsor Academy of Specialties and my many OCs who attend there so that people can have a space to be a part of this school. I plan to make interactive posts where people can imagine themselves here and also have fun with my characters! And perhaps in due time, we can have a little community of kindred spirits♡
