Norman Tyrus x Fem!SecretRelationship!Reader || Drabble
Tumblr media
Plot: This is set in the world of This Headcanon Set! Reader is the femme fatale of the group and, while on the road, she helps Norman trim his beard and it provides some quality alone (ish) time between you when your relationship is a secret from Wayne and Dale.
Warnings: Norman definitely has a 'daddy' thing about him here XD Complimenting you for 'behaving' and calling you 'little girl'. Unedited.
Tagging: @marinerainbow and @slxsherwriter .
You're perched on your knees in the drivers seat as Norman sits in the passenger seat facing the front; getting his beard neatened by you with some itty bitty hair cutting scissors. You're very focused, eyebrows knit together and focused as you hold yourself still on his shoulder and carefully snip away at the overgrown mess. Sure, you think its sexy when his beard grows out a bit- but he doesn't. So you help him!
Plus, with the doors closed and Dale and Wayne outside of the car- you can count this as a mini date! And you missed being alone with him; this trip cramped in this car constantly with the two dumbasses has gone on for way-too-long already. You just want to go back to Monroe County, send Dale and Wayne home and keep Norman to yourself for a few good hours. In fact, you want that so bad that you kind of wonder if Lyle knows about you and Norman- and he's doing this on purpose. Testing you.
What a bastard, you huff, frown increasing.
Norman notices the shift in your mood, despite how small and momentary it is, and his eyes shift in his head to look at you. "... you good?"
... Instead of insulting his brother during the one short moment you two have had alone for a week, you stop snipping for a moment and nod, pasting on a smile full of assurance. "Yeah, all good." You quip.
"How come I don't believe you?" He asks, that slow drawl of his ever-present and usually so sexy-- though right now, you kind of wish he didn't sound so sure.
Sighing, your smile goes a little sad; slumping against the seat next to you. "... I just miss you." Its not a lie, but its not the full truth, either. Its enough to old him, for now. He'll have to learn about your suspicions eventually; you aren't the kind of couple to hide things (well not from each other) , no matter how unpleasant the truth might be. And Norman's good at taking things in his stride, he has never once yelled at you or gotten mad at you at all, so you know it wont start a fight... but you still just don't want to get into this n o w. Now, you just wanna enjoy a soft, quiet moment with your boyfriend.
... quiet-ish. Dale just threw a clump of dirt and grass at Wayne outside the car.
Sighing and almost absentmindedly locking the car doors so Wayne doesn't come ducking for cover inside, Norman shifts a little to look at you better. "I'm right here, baby." He tells you, softly. Still in that terrifying drawl, but, a notch warmer.
"You know what I mean... " You borderline-whine, pouting. Physical proximity is just not the same as when you can act like a couple.
"Yeah... I do." The windows are tinted, so Norman feels comfortable picking up your hand in his; squeezing it between you both on the console. "But look, Lyle says we've just got a couple more days out here, then we can go home. And I promise to take you out on the best date so far. You deserve it, little girl." Godddd, why does he say stuff like that!? Doesn't he know how hard it is not to kiss him when he does!? "You've been so good this past week, behavin' and helping us out... I gotta thank you, don't I?"
"... you could thank me by ditching these two here and getting a motel room for a couple hours with me." You say bluntly, even though you know thats not possible. You know you're being petulant, but its been a week!!!-
Norman releases a chuckle at you, thinking you're being 'cute' or something- puh. You're not being cute, you're being impatient. "Babygirl, you know I'd love that. But you know we cant."
"Yeah... " You give a drawn-out, dramatic sigh. He's still holding your hand though, you still have that despite your trip, so you look longingly down there.
He rubs a comforting thumb over your knuckles. "What can I do to make my girl smile?" When you don't say anything, his grin widens a little bit. "... What if I say fuck the system and you get to pick the road snacks today?"
Eyes rolling, you cross your free arm, with the scissors still in your hand, over your stomach. "... but its Wayne's turn... " Bleh.
"Screw Wayne, he'll live. And he ain't my girl."
Still mopey, you refuse to look him in the eye. "Well I mean, you'd hope not, considering he's your cousin- "
"Y/N."
"Okay yeah, that would be good." You smile at him, brightening up as you think about what's on the way to where you're going today and what you can get. And also how good you have it with Norman, how good he is to you in these silly, little ways. "Thank you."
"Wish I could do more. Anything you want."
"Yeah, well... " Giving a shrug and a sigh, you give him a hopeless look. "We agreed- its better if the others don't know. For now."
Now Norman is the one looking frustrated- irritated. "Yeah, well I'm rethinkin' that idea more and more the longer this trip draws out."
You squeeze his hand, trying to contain your excitement because you k n o w you two have made the right decision. Its not time yet. "Me too. But- "
"I know." He gently cuts you off, giving you a comforting, monotonous grin. "I know, baby."
"... god I wish I could kiss you now." You huff, making you both chuckle. Norman looks out the front window of the car now, seeing the guys standing side-by-side against a fence now, facing the cars way; evidently over the dirt-throwing.
For a few moments you're both silent, watching Dale and Wayne chuckling over whatever nefarious, gross, ill-conceived joke they made up. Part of you is waiting for them to walk away so and Norman can share a quick kiss- but they don't move an inch. Dale even looks up at the two you, notices you watching them, and gives a half-waive.
"... so, how's my beard lookin'?" Norman finally breaks the silence.
You give him a moments assessment; sighing out a thoughtful 'hum'. "Hmmm... Sexy."
Noman flashes you a devastating smirk, and folds his fingers through the car doorhandle. "Okay then, lets go."
~ 3 Days Later, as soon as Wayne and Dale leave Norman's apartment ~
The second the door clicks shut behind Dale, you flick the lock and then skip/bound over to Norman; throwing your arms and legs around him. He catches you, securing you against his body, and connects his lips with yours in a searing hot make-out. After a week and a half the kiss is not likely to end any time soon, but you still feel desperate for each other. You part your lips for his tongue and run your hands down his chest, feeling him for the first time in what feels like ages.
Its going to be a long night.

paper rings.
Tumblr media
·˚ ༘⌗ chinen miya x gn!reader
·˚ ༘⌗ childhood promises aren't unusual. miya and you had made many to each other, but the most notable one would be the classic promise to marry one another. miya was getting impatient with time, and decided he didn't need to be a grown up to marry you. after all, paper rings will do, right?
·˚ ༘⌗ warnings: fluff, both of you are still in middle school lol 😃, miya being cute and kind of ooc??
gen masterlist.            sk8 masterlist.
Tumblr media
miya grumbled as he sneaked quick glances at you from across him. you were both at school eating lunch underneath a tree for shade, like you always do, and for some reason, he was acting strange and awfully fidgety ever since the morning you went up to greet him.
"alright, what is it, miya?" you asked with a sigh "h-huh?" miya jumped as he nervously sipped on his drink, avoiding eye contact as his fingers fiddled with his switch.
"you're acting so weird" you said as you throw a candy wrapper at him "you've been looking at me strangely all day" you said as you narrowed your eyes at him
miya gulped and shook his head "no way!" he denied "you're getting too confident, you slime!" he said as he stuck his tongue out playfully
you rolled your eyes and laughed at his antics, throwing another piece of wrapper at him as you tuck a strand of hair behind your ear. "whatever" you said
"and don't call me a slime, im your best friend!" you whined with a laugh. miya blushed and jutted his bottom lip out in a sort of pout. "you're still a slime if you keep acting like that.." he muttered
you raise a brow in confusion "acting like what?" you asked. "a-acting so... so.." he stammered out, looking so flustered as he tries to maintain eye contact with you, even though he could practically feel his heart palpitating.
"so what?" you asked again, this time even more confused as his face visibly becomes a brighter shade of red all the way to the tip of his ears.
"so cute!!" miya finally admitted, accidentally raising his voice a little too high, causing a few students to turn their heads.
"aghhh" he groaned out as he ducked his head to avoid their gazes out of embarrassment.
"oh.. is that so?" you cooed out with a laugh as you cover your cheeks which were heating up from the compliment.
"well, you're pretty cute yourself" you teased "even for a slime"
miya looked up and glared at you, despite his quivering lips and shaky voice he still managed to let out a small "im not a slime.."
you smile and pack away your bento, standing up on your feet and pulling him along. "im gonna keep calling you a slime if you won't stop acting weird around me" you said
"anyways, let's go. lunch is about to end" you say as you take his hand in yours and proceed to walk away. miya gulped as he stared longingly at your intertwined hands.
more specifically, your ring finger which seems to be quite bare.
"hey, y/n.." he muttered. "yeah?" you reply
"remember our promise?" he asked ".. yknow, when we were kids?"
you hummed for a moment before replying, "i think so.." you said "i mean.. i remember promising not to tell anyone when you fell into a canal when we were like five-"
"not that!!" miya shrieked with a bit of a pink tint to his cheeks "forget about that whole thing, that's embarrassing!" he whined
"then what?" you asked with a laugh "i can't name every promise we've ever made all in one go, you know?"
miya huffed and abruptly stopped in his tracks, causing you to halt along with him.
"i meant.. when we promised to marry each other." he said in a soft whisper
"miya.." you mumble as you stare at him in surprise. miya simply looked away, avoiding eye contact as his lips quiver into a small frown.
"um. yeah, i remember" you replied with a nervous smile as miya takes your hand in his and locks your fingers together.
"y/n, i think.." miya stammered out "i think i want to get married already."
you blinked in shock and confusion before letting out a sheepish laugh "haha, miya you can't be serious" you said
"we're too young, plus, you're saying that as if you like me or something" you said in a joking manner as you playfully hit his shoulder "but you don't actually like me, right?" you asked with a nervous gulp
miya shook his head and placed your hands over his chest, holding them tenderly as he stares up at you with his eyes glimmering with admiration.
"i like you a lot, y/n" he admitted "i've liked you since we were kids and-" he cut himself off
"actually, i think i love you. so um.. i wanna get married so nobody else can love you but me." miya said with a look of determination on his face as he nervously waits for your response.
"well uh.." you stammer out as you nervously look around "i.. i love you too, miya.." you finally admitted as you send him a bashful glance
miya's eyes widened as his smile turned into a wide grin. "really?" he asked with excitement
"yeah i guess" you muttered bashfully as you try to avoid his entrancing emerald hued eyes.
"that's great! let's get married." miya said as he took your hand and pulled you along as he ran towards the infamous cherry blossom tree in your school.
"miya, slow down!" you whined as he practically dragged you along while you struggled to keep up with him since he was basically sprinting.
"hurry up, you slime!" miya exclaimed with a laugh as he slows down to match your pace
"geez. you know we can get married at like 20 or 25 instead, right?" you said as you let out a breath of air
you were both underneath the cherry blossom tree. the beautiful pink blossoms fall and sway around due to the wind as the both of you lay on the grassy ground.
"we don't even have rings" you laughed as you turned to look at him. "don't worry i already have those" miya said with a cat-like grin
you watched in amusement as he dug into his pocket and pulled out two rings made of paper with small cat and video game stickers and both of your names written on the inside.
"oh gosh you actually have them" you sweat drop "ofcourse! i made these this morning and put a lot of effort so you better accept it" miya playfully scowled
you both sat up as he held out his palm, urging you to place your hand on top of it.
"my vows would be.. uh i'll love you forever and let you play my games. and i won't ever leave you and call you a slime ever again" miya muttered as he slid the ring into your finger, blushing madly as he does so.
"wow, nice vows. very heartfelt." you say sarcastically with a laugh, causing him to grumble and gently hit you with his fist.
"just say your vows, you slime!"
"you just said you wouldn't call me a slime anymore!"
"that only applies after! we're still not together since you still haven't told me your vows, slime!"
you sigh as a fond smile grazed your lips. you stare at miya through your lashes, chuckling to yourself as you see him waiting expectantly with a concerning amount of blush on his cheeks.
"my vows would be.." you muttered "that i would never leave you and i'll be with you and support you in whatever you wanna do." you said
"and-"
"that's enough" miya cut you off by waving his hand at your face, while covering his with the other. "u-um.. im fine with just that, you don't have to say anything else.." he said
you blink in confusion but agree anyways. "okay then" you smiled
miya gulped as he shakily lends you his hand, watching in astonishment as you slid the ring onto his finger.
"there, we're now officially together forever" you said with a laugh as you intertwined your hands together
"yeah." miya mumbled as his lips slowly curled into a loving smile
you gave him a smug grin as you point to your lips "this is the part where you kiss me-"
miya didn't let you finish as he suddenly tackled you into a hug and pressed a soft kiss onto your lips before moving along and pressing his lips onto both of your cheeks and nose.
"thanks for marrying me" miya muttered against your neck as he buries his face against your skin
"anytime" you chuckled. you wrapped your arms around him, causing him to sigh in satisfaction and relax against your body.
"mhhm, love you y/n" he mumbled
"i love you too miya"
Tumblr media
"man, you'll never understand since you're too young" reki said with a smug grin as he patted miya's head to emphasise his point
"love is just too complex for kiddos like you" reki teased
miya simply grumbled and glared up at the redhead, causing reki to laugh even more. "oh yeah?" miya taunted
"well, it's not like you have a lover of your own" he scoffed "you can't flirt for the life of you, and girls wouldn't even waste their time of day to look at you"
reki let out a pained smile as he sulked over miya's harsh words. "ahahaha, those are some big words for a little kid like you" reki squeaked out with a chuckle
"tch.." miya gritted his teeth as he glared up at reki "you have no room to talk when your ethe one who doesn't have a s/o, you slime!" he exclaimed
"eh??" reki mused "why? do you have a s/o?" he taunted "i think not-"
"yes i do." miya cut him off with a smug smirk
"ha?! how?! you're like three?!?" reki exclaimed in surprise, which seemed to catch the others' attention
"ha?! im thirteen idiot!!" miya yelled back with a scowl
"what happened?" kaoru asks with a raised brow as he looks between the two boys. reki seemed to be in shock and suspicion, while miya was sticking his tongue out at the redhead.
"cherry, miya said he has a s/o!!" reki exclaimed "how is that even possible?! he's a child!"
"im a teenager!" miya exclaimed
"really?" kaoru hummed in amusement as his eyes slowly trail over to you, who was too busy munching on burgers with langa to even notice their arguing.
"who is it??" reki asked "its y/n." miya replied with a proud smirk
"Y/N?! IMPOSSIBLE!" reki exclaimed with widened eyes. he ran over to you and hugged you protectively to his chest. "y/n, answer me honestly!" he said
"are you and miya together?!"
you blink in confusion and look at langa for an answer, though he simply shrugged and carried on eating. "um, well yeah." you said
"no way?!!!" reki exclaimed "oi you slime, why does it seem so unbelievable to you anyway, huh?" miya asked him with a raised brow as he pulled you closer to him
"it's just a shock to me!" reki said "i never would've guessed that.." he let out a sigh
kojiro sweat dropped and patted miya and yours' heads. "well, it was pretty obvious they'd end up together" he said
"yeah, we even got married." miya said in a nonchalant tone as he intertwined your hands.
"EH?!" now this time, everyone had let out a scream of their own. they looked between the two of you and blinked in shock.
"impossible. since when?" kaoru asked
"a week ago" you replied with a smile as you raise both of your hands to show them the rings on your fingers.
"but thats just paper-" kaoru slapped langa's mouth with his fan and smiled proudly at the two of you.
"that's wonderful. are those your rings?" he asked with a hum
"yeah. miya made them" you replied "it was really fun. the 'wedding' was a bit unexpected but its fine." you said
"the children are growing up!" kojiro exclaimed as he covered his mouth, while he wipes the stray tears of joy away.
"kaoru! the children are grown!!"
"shut up, you gorrila! you act like they're our kids." kaoru rolled his eyes. he then turned to you and smiled softly once again.
"congratulations" he said
"heh. hows that, you slime?" miya sneered at reki as he flaunts the paper rings with a smug cat-like grin.
"those are just paper anyways! so you're not really married- ow!" reki yelped as he felt kaoru's fan hit his head
"tch. whatever! im gonna get real rings soon!" miya exclaimed.
"no need to rush things, you know?" you mused as you patted miya's head
"yeah.." miya muttered "paper rings will do for now.. right?" he asked.
"right."

It’s A Lovely Morning In The Village
Since this trope seems to be a “no rules just write” type of thing, here you fuckin’ go I guess:
***
Nobody who'd known him back in Kansas would probably believe him, but waking up was never Ted's favorite part of the day. He wasn't the type to jump right out of bed and face the morning with a smile, no matter what folks might've thought — he's almost forty-five, his jumping-out-of-bed days are long past — but something about the way London's buildings and streets and even its people, sometimes, all seem to creak and grumble in the early light gets to him. Like the whole country's still half-asleep under the weight of its own history, unwilling to get up and get going.
But crossing Richmond Green always gets his mind right; no matter the season or the weather, there's always kids running around before school, older ladies and gentlemen sitting on benches chatting to each other, serious-looking business people slowing down just a little bit. Often there's even a bit of wildlife, ducks and geese from the ponds, squirrels running all over creation, pigeons and other birds that Ted probably ought to know the names for but are all just pretty to him. Once Ted even saw a fox, far off near the trees, watching him curiously before it disappeared.
It was chilly this morning, and Ted was glad for his jacket and vest and Hannah giving him an extra-large coffee this morning so he could wrap his hands around it, the too-hot pain against his palms countered by the chill against his knuckles. There was a little bit of mist meandering along between the paths and loitering in the tree-line, like it had somewhere it needed to be but wasn't quite done hanging out on the Green just yet. Ted's pace slowed, sympathetic.
He heard the pitter-patter of feet behind him and turned around: a cute little grey goose was was giving him not one but two hairy eyeballs, turning its head from side to side like it was sizing him up. "Hey there," Ted said, resisting the urge to crouch down and offer it his hand, like it was a lost golden retriever.
The goose gave a low honk and circled around him, the pitter-patter of its feet on the pathway making him smile even as he wondered if he should be protecting his privates at this point. Then it came back around, shook its head at him, and hustled away toward the pond, honking to itself sort of absent-mindedly.
"Huh," Ted decided, and turned back toward the path to the clubhouse.
***
"They got the Soulmate Goose here?" Ted asked Beard later on, as they were heading out to training. Roy was already out there, doing some drills with the new kids on second team while Isaac and Sam lead first team's warmups.
Beard looked over at him, but all he said was, "They've got the Soulmate Goose everywhere, Coach."
Ted blew out a breath, annoyed at himself. "What I mean is, does it look like ours? You know, the American one — or I guess, the Canada Goose one. The North American — with the black head and neck and what-all."
"Hmm," Beard replied, and Ted checks in on his face; he learned over twenty years ago that half of any conversation you had with Beard was going to involve his expressions and a careful parsing of same. "Don't know if I know the answer to that one. Think I read something about how the bond rate is lower here, plus it's not like we used to see 'em all over town back in the states."
Ted opened his mouth to make the observation that Beard had been doing that a lot more lately — it wasn't "back home" anymore, it was "back in Kansas" or "back in the states." But hadn't he been doing the same, as of late?
He thought back on all the shops and such he'd ducked into, looking for birthday cards or thank-you notes and such. He was sure there'd been a Gooseday section, but given how rare it was in the first place there weren't ever that many cards to choose from, if he'd ever needed to. Which he hadn't; the only bonded pair he'd ever known were his own parents, and it wasn't like Mom wanted much reminding of that.
"Well, not like we've got computers in our pockets or anything," he realized, and Beard huffed a bit as Ted pulled out his phone and googled "UK Soulmate Goose."
What popped up was the spitting image of the fellow who'd introduced itself to him earlier. "'Modeled after the wild Greylag goose,'" he read, "'The image of the Soulmate Goose of the British Isles differs remarkably from its brethren in the Americas and the rest of Europe, though it bears some similarity to the Soulmate Goose of East Asia. Note that the Shetland Islands' Soulmate Goose more often looks like the domesticated Shetland Goose, and Ireland's and Northern Ireland's most common image of the Soulmate Goose takes after the Pink-footed Goose that migrates to and from the island every winter from Iceland.'" He looked up from his phone; they were almost at the pitch, and Beard had taken his arm at some point to steer him around the various obstacles in the hallway. "And here I thought our system was complicated because we still call it the Canada Goose, even when it's in America."
Beard bobbled his head to indicate vague agreement, but whatever else he was going to say got interrupted by Ted's cellphone going off: TRENT CRIMM, INDEPENDENT. In the months since Trent had written a letter — a letter, delivered through the mail and everything — outlining his proposal for a book on Richmond's relegation/promotion two-step last year, Ted had customized his contact information bit by bit. Trent even had his own ringtone now.
"Hey there!" Ted said, slowing down a little to let Beard go ahead. "You at the pitch already? If you're wanting to know where me and Beard are at, we're just a minute out from—"
"I'm afraid I won't be in today," Trent said, and Ted wondered if British people knew how much they used that phrase, I'm afraid, in order to break all kinds of bad news to people. As far as he could tell, British people were as repressed as anybody else, but that phrase got dropped into every third conversation he had with these folks.
"That's fine — everything okay on your end?" he asked, then winced, because it wasn't like Trent owed him an explanation or anything. The book was Trent's business, not his.
"No," Trent snapped. He sounded mighty peeved about something, and Ted flipped through the past twenty-four hours to check if there might've been something he did to get Trent peeved at him.
"Okay," he replied, when he came up empty. "Anything I can do to help?"
"Unless you know of a pest control service—" and that's when Ted's heart just about dropped out of his butt, because drowning out the rest of Trent's sentence was the unmistakable sound of honking.
"That doesn't sound like a pest," is all he could think of to say. "Sounds like a goose." Ahead of him, Beard stopped in his tracks and turned around, eyebrows nudging at the brim of his baseball hat.
"The Venn diagram seems to overlap, in this case," said Trent, still sounding annoyed but with a little curl to his voice that meant he was smiling. "Someone thought it would be amusing to set one on me, and thus far I've been unsuccessful in getting past it."
"Maybe it's different over here," Ted said, "But isn't the whole point of the Soulmate Goose is that nobody sets them on you? They just set themselves, as it were."
"…the Soulmate Goose isn't real," Trent said after a long, long pause, during which Ted could hear a couple of honks. They sounded a little bit muffled, like they were coming through a door. "You do know that, don't you?"
"All I know's you've got a visitor in your apartment might disagree."
"Ted," Trent said, in that low earnest voice he only used when he thought Ted was being real stupid about something, which meant Ted had a lot of experience with hearing it, "You can hire someone to dress up as Santa Claus and attend your office party. That doesn't mean Santa Claus is real."
"Better not let your daughter hear you say that," Ted warned. "Besides, if it was a real goose, you wouldn't be hiding in your — where are you, anyway?"
"Cowering in my bathroom at the moment," Trent sighed. "Bastard showed up as I was getting out of the shower."
Which wasn't a mental image Ted needed in his brain right now. "Well, let me know if we need to turn up later on with a net or a couple dozen watercress sandwiches."
"Watercress sandwiches?" Trent asked, then immediately added, "No, don't explain, please. Thank you for the offer. Hopefully whoever arranged this prank will come and retrieve the damn thing sooner rather than later, else I'll have to sleep in the bathtub. I've done that once already in my life and that was enough."
"You'll have to tell me that story sometime," said Ted, before he could shut his dang mouth.
There was another pause, before Trent said, "Perhaps I will." There was another curl in his voice, one that Ted liked hearing a whole lot, but he really needed to stop hearing it. Especially if a Soulmate Goose had just turned up in his apartment.
"All right, well, bye," said Ted, and hung up just as he got to the doors out to the training pitch. Beard was waiting for him there, eyebrows still sky-high. "Trent's got some uh, issues at home, won't be coming in today."
There were about a dozen different responses Beard could give to that — he'd heard Ted's end of the conversation, and probably had as good idea of what happened as Ted himself. But all he said was, "Trent know your ringtone for him is 'Miss Independent?'"

I JUST SAW FIGHT CLUB AND HOOOLLYYY-
Bro could you IMAGINE FightClub!Bakugo?
Tw:noncon, language, harassment
Okay okay get this: you’re down in the basement listening to the usual men holler and punch each other around while you do your job as their cute little “accountant”. While many of them have good jobs and a real life, the actual members don’t have time or the intellect to juggle the numbers and money around as fast as you can. You’ve been coming here for a while now, and you’re used to the jeers and wolf-whistles coming your way since you’re basically one of the few or only women who dare to come down here.
But there’s one fighter who just can’t seem to take no for an answer.
Bakugo fucking Katsuki.
The man is ruthless, he’s relentless, he’s a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield. You swear he’s had to have taken a shitload of steroids in his youth, otherwise how else could he have built up that much muscle? There’s no way an average gym-goer has that kinda build.
He’s always the first and the last one out in the rink, swaying back and forth with his fists up, a twisted grin on his face that was so reminiscent of a wolf before it lunges for its prey.
It usually took more than two men to pull him off the unconscious bodies that he had just beaten to a pulp, effectively breaking one of Fight Clubs Rules: get up when someone is down.
But he’s too good to let go, no one has the balls to tell him to take his money somewhere else since they’re all scared shitless of him.
Which leads him to believing that he’s practically a god down here, that he can conquer anything: including you.
No one really calls it harassment because no one really cares. What’s so wrong in a guy having a little crush? What, you came down here seeing all this testosterone but you can’t deal with it yourself? Don’t be a prudish bitch.
“Bakugo, I’m at work right now, I don’t want to.”
“C’mon toots, this ain’t even real work, you’re just fumblin’ my hard earned cash.” He grins slyly and crosses his bulging muscular arms, leaning against the doorway of the little office you’re given to work your magic.
You turn in your rickety seat and glare at him, ignoring the way he licks his lips and lets his eyes roam all over your body. “If I’m so shit at my work then go somewhere else and stop bothering me.”
He chuckles in his baritone voice and shakes his head at you. “Naw, can’t do that sweets. If I did then I’d never be able to see your pretty face again now, could I?” Bakugo leers at you and you turn your face in disgust.
“I don’t wanna go out for lunch, or ever with you. Now get out before I have to call someone in here.”
“Oh, is that so?” He uncrosses his arms and steps through the threshold, his body growing larger and more menacing as he slowly draws closer to you. Luckily a fight had broken out near the office months ago so there was no more door from the aftereffects, but that didn’t mean you felt safe even with open space.
“G-get out. I’m serious, Bakugo-“
“-Call me Katsuki, angel. And you don’t really mean that, do you? Look at you, you can barely look me in the eye when you say such mean things.” His voice drops an octave as he comes to stand in front of your seated form, towering above your wide eyes, clenched fists and trembling figure.
He leans down and you flinch and gasp as his breath ghosts over your face. He places both arms on either side of your chair so you have nowhere to look but him.
“You’re such a nice breath of fresh hair down here, through all the blood and violence. You’re like a flower...” he tucks a stray hair behind your ear and breaths out a laugh when you turn your head and squeeze your eyes shut.
“A flower, so fragile...a flower that smells so fucking good...” you feel like you can’t properly breathe as he leans in next to your ear and inhales deeply.
“A flower waiting to be deflowered herself.”
“What’s going on here?” A lanky body in the doorway appears.
Bakugo pulls back and turns his head ever so slightly towards the dude, growling under his breath at the interruption.
“We’re in the middle of something here, so you can just get the fuck ou-“
“-Well, it doesn’t really look like she’s into whatever you’re doing,” the man scoffs and takes in your pale face and shaking hands.
Bakugo stands to his fullest height, almost neck and neck with the man at the door.
“Yeah? I didn’t hear a complaint from her.” He cocks his head and stretches, allowing his muscles to ripple with each movement, something that didn’t go unseen by your much skinnier savior.
But he doesn’t back down. He only swallows and rubs the back of his neck.
“Well, we’re all being called out to put our bets in for the next match anyways, so you better come out before we get our asses kicked.”
The blond grumbles about weak men and no balls, then casts a dark look at your frozen figure before shouldering past the man at the door, almost knocking him down.
As soon as he’s out of your line of vision, you exhale and relax into your seat.
“You okay?” The fallen soldier scrambles back up and cautiously approaches you, looking over your body in a way that didn’t remind you of Bakugo undressing you with his eyes...rather, it was a protective, and worried once-over.
“Yeah, he’s just...a lot to handle sometimes. Doesn’t know when to quit.” You laugh shakily and run a hand through your hair.
“No wonder the dude’s a menace. He’s used to getting what he wants, I guess.” The man acknowledges this grimly, and for the first time you’re relieved that finally someone hasn’t turned a blind eye to your harassment.
“Are they really calling us down for bets?”
“No, I just said that to get him off your ass. Didn’t seem like you liked whatever he was doing.”
You give him a wobbly smile and he returns it.
“Sooo we should probably run before he comes back up here, right?”
“Oh most definitely,” you actually giggle before leaping out of your seat and joining the man to bound up the steps two at a time to freedom.
You both end up bonding pretty well over the weeks, even going out for coffee and lunch dates here and there. You’ve come to really like him, his shyer demeanor more than a majority of the ragtag men down in the basements, his chivalry refreshing to you amongst the blood and foul language thrown around the ring.
You feel like a woman with him, not some piece of ass like you were used to.
Bakugo noticed all this, of course. You started avidly avoiding him, ducking your head down and hiding behind your new ally before he could open his coarse mouth and stalk towards you. He couldn’t find you in your dingy office anymore either, because your savior was up in a cafe doing the calculations with you, laughing away about the latest matches.
That has to change. Effective immediately.
“Yo, newbie. How you been? Haven’t seen you fightin’ here for a while,” Bakugo claps his meaty hand on the scrawny guy’s back, nearing sending him toppling over.
“Yeah, y’know, just haven’t been feeling it lately.” He rubs the stinging feeling away from his sore shoulders and side eyes the blond suspiciously. He had seen firsthand just how bad-news of a guy he was, and he didn’t wanna get caught up in all that.
But Katsuki wasn’t just all brawn. He had some brains, too.
“Look, I know I prolly gave off a weird first impression with Y/N back then. But it’s all in good health, ‘was just messin’ around like I always do.”
“Yeah, sure...”
“How ‘bout we get some coffee or somethin’? You seem like a solid dude, plus we got shit in common to talk about.”
Like fucking around with my bitch.
“Uh, you sure? I kinda’ wanted to see the last fight,” he trails off unsuredly, scratching his jaw as Katsuki steers him away from the growing crowd.
“There’ll always be fights, man. I wanna show you that I’m a nice guy.”
Bakugo Katsuki was not a nice guy.
And everyone knew that too, which is why when some shifted to give the duo a curious glance he met them with a death glare. Any gazes locked on Katsuki’s hand wrapped around the lanky guy’s shoulders were immediately casted down.
You didn’t see your savior for a while.
It had been two weeks since he mysteriously disappeared from his usual place in the outskirts of the crowd, because unbeknownst to you, a certain fighter was keeping him away from you and convincing him to have a friendly brawl over lunch.
You only found out about it on a Friday night, when a crowd much bigger than before was gathered in the dim basement, voices hushed and whispering.
“What’s going on? Why’s everyone so quiet?” You whisper to one of the usuals.
“‘Heard Bakugo’s fighting some dude that was handpicked by himself. He somehow managed to convince the poor bastard to have some kinda’ match with him.”
You felt your heart sinking.
“Who did he pick?”
“‘Dunno, some skinny guy, a newbie I think. Hasn’t been around for too long so I guess he doesn’t know how big of a monster he’s gonna be beaten by.” The groupie shrugged, and you felt the blood drain from your face.
Without saying another word, you spun around and started running around all over the place looking for either of the two.
You end up stumbling into the men’s bathroom, desperate beyond salvation to stop this bloodbath.
He’s there, he’s at the urinal and he yelps when he hears you barge in. You avert your eyes and let his adjust himself as he sputters indignantly.
“Y/N? What’re you doing in here? This is a men’s-“
“Don’t fight him.”
“What?”
“Don’t fight Bakugo, please, he’s gonna kill you, I know he is-“
“-Calm down, what’re you so worked up about? C’mon, I would’ve thought you’d had a little bit more faith in me to be able to stand my ground.” He teases you but you don’t find it funny, on the contrary you’re terrified out of your mind for his life.
“Did he put you up to this? How could you fight him, you’ve seen what he does to the other guys in the ring!”
“Well yeah, but he knows not to go that hard on me. Actually, he’s not that bad of a guy, we’ve gotten some drinks for the past two weeks and I was wrong about him.”
You gape at him. “Wrong? You saw how he cornered me that one day!”
He shrugs, not put off by the distant memory. “The guy just came back from a fight, he still had testosterone going through him. You can’t blame him for wanting to let a bit of it out, right? You should really give him a chance y’know, he talks about you all the t-“
But you can’t hear anymore, this is madness, there’s barely 10 minutes left until they’re going to call the two down for their death match. You need to find the source of this problem firsthand.
And somehow, a little voice inside your head tells you exactly where you know he is.
You round the corner to your office and there he is in all his glory, seated like a king on your chair, leaned back with his knees spread, carelessly looking through your bank statements and bet papers.
He barely looks at you as he says, “Oh there you are, I was starting to think you’d miss the show.”
You sink to your knees.
He looks up at that.
With a tight chest and burning eyes, your dry throat barely permits you to choke out, “Bak-Katsuki, please, please don’t do this. Please don’t fight him.”
He cracks his neck and leans forward, regarding you with dark vermilion eyes. He looks your position over appreciatively before speaking.
“Why not? He’s so good and great isn’t he? I’m just trying to show you how right you were, after all. I’m sure he’s got a fair chance of beating me.”
You shake your head vigorously, knowing what he’s playing at.
“No, no, you’re better, please. I was wrong about him, I shouldn’t have been friends with him, please don’t fight him Katsuki I’ll do anything-“
“-Oh you’ll do anything I say regardless of if I beat him to a bloody pulp or not. You wanna know why?”
You can barely contain a whimper as he stands and walks over right in front of you, his bulging crotch mere inches away from your face.
He suddenly grabs your hair and you cry out before he yanks your head up to meet his cold eyes.
“Because no one in here is gonna say shit to me. I run things here, toots. And if you want your little boy toy to live through today, you’re gonna watch every blow I give to him, and you’re gonna kiss the fucking knuckles I beat his face with. Got that?”
You sob as he grinds his clothed erection against your tear-streaked face, sniffling when he moans loudly and bucks into your open mouth.
A loud knock on the bare hinges stops Bakugo from pulling the front of his shorts down.
You both turn your heads and see a red-faced side-liner looking down and mumbling something about the match starting.
“‘Be there in a minute. Tell the guys to give my girl here a special front-row seat to this match, she’s gonna wanna see her man win, after all.”
The runner scampers off, leaving you both alone.
He bares his teeth down at you and you cower under his painful hold, the roots of your hair ripping from their strands.
He eventually tosses your head to the side after a few seconds of staring you down, and the second he does you clutch your sore cranium.
“I better see you down there in a minute sweet thing. You gotta get used to it anyways, since you’re gonna be getting accustomed to my rituals before and after matches.”

He Loves Me Cause I’m Cute, He Thinks I’m Pretty Funny | 2588 words 📱
He watches it back one more time after it posts, checking for typos in his subtitles and captions, and has to laugh again.
Steve fucking Rogers? His brain thought he could pull Captain America, literal superhero and America’s favorite sweetheart?
“Hello I’m a 35 year old amputee living in New York and I think that I could get Steve Rogers.”
OR
the one where bucky posts a tiktok and steve is utterly smitten.
Summer Slipped Us Underneath Her Tongue | 10712 words 🧳
Bucky is a tour guide who enjoys sharing the rich history and culture of each city they pass through with a bunch of early-20's college students who just want to know the cheapest place to get drunk.
Except for Steve, who asks Bucky for a personal tour around his hometown.
The rest is, as they say, history.
You Make My Heart Skip A Beet | 3853 words 🧑🏼‍🍳
“I made soda bread.” Steve lets out the 6’2” supersoldier equivalent of a squeak. “Oh, I love soda bread,” he says eagerly, rolling forward on the balls of his feet like he does when he gets excited. “My mom used to make it all the time when I was growing up.” The tips of Barnes’s ears turn red, and he mutters something that sounds suspiciously like, “I know.”
Ollie Meets Bagel | 5517 words 🥯
He was a skater boy, Steve said let's get bagels, boy.
Steve wants to start doing this twenty-first century thing properly. He gets help in the form of skateboarding, skateboarders, bagels, and Sam Wilson.
Taxi | 5113 words 🚕
Bucky Barnes was, he hoped, a good taxi driver.
He's so good, he actually tries to return lost property that ends up left in his car and... well. It has some unexpected consequences involving a National Icon.
Enough said.
Leg Day | 12157 words 🏋️‍♂️
“So talk to him,” Sam says.
“I can’t,” Bucky groans. “I can’t, Sam, I. He just.” He fluffs his hair up and stares at Sam, distraught. “I want him to bench press me.”
“Okay, so it’s serious,” Sam interprets. “Got it."
(Or: The one where Sam is Bucky's long-suffering roommate, Bucky is a hot mess of a millennial, and Hot Steve spends far too much time on the Lat Pull-Down machine.)
Love In Aisle Four | 2127 words 🛍️
When Bucky needs to swing by the supermarket after a long, hard day of work, the last thing he expects is to meet a cute grocery clerk named Steve…
Coming Up Easy | 45515 words ✍🏻
“Listen, I was just thinking,” Steve says, his face open, eyebrows raised in a tentatively hopeful expression. “Why don’t you come stay at my place for a while? I’ve got an office that I barely use, and a change of scenery might do you good, right? Help you beat that writer’s block?” With a crooked smile, he adds, “I promise I’m not a serial killer.”
While Bucky would normally crack a joke about how that’s exactly what a serial killer would say, right now, all he can do is blink at Steve in surprise, heart tripping over itself in his chest. Steve wants him to come and stay at his place. In Massachusetts. Just the two of them.
"Oh," Bucky croaks. "I- Wow."
“I mean, no pressure,” Steve says hastily. “Totally fine if you don’t wanna. I just thought I’d offer, in case it might help, y’know?”
“Yeah.” Bucky ignores the little voice in his head that sounds an awful lot Nat and Becca, telling him he’s setting himself up for heartbreak. “I mean, if you’re sure, that would be amazing.”
Anywhere The Wind Blows | 8845 words 👨‍🚒🎖️
After a catastrophic fire that shakes him to his core, Steve Rogers quits his job as a Brooklyn firefighter and relocates to a cabin in the remote Canadian wilderness, wanting quiet and solitude and to maybe never have to speak to another human being ever again. He gets his wish, more or less, until a recently injured Bucky Barnes is discharged from the Army and rents the cabin next door.
The Safer Course | 7918 words | Part 1 of Won’t You Be My Neighbor 🏡
When Steve moves to the suburbs in 2033, he intends to retire from superhero life.
He does not intend to fall in love with his pain-in-the-ass neighbor.
Every Year I Have You | 7064 words | Part 2 of Won’t You Be My Neighbor 🏡
Steve set the bar pretty high, as birthday presents go.
Bucky is determined to outdo him when July 4th comes around.
Beneath The Mistletoe | 21203 words 🎄
Bucky had a bet with his sister that if he didn’t have a boyfriend to bring home for Christmas by the time he was 25, he had to give her $200 and go blonde for a year. But now he's 25, it’s nearing December, and not only is Bucky as single as ever, but he’s also running low on cash. He doesn’t exactly want to bleach his hair, either.
At least Steve is willing to upgrade their relationship from best friends to fake boyfriends.
The Settler | 52203 words 🍞
“What do you want to do?”
Steve pauses and looks at them.
What he wants is to stay with them. He doesn't have any family left, they all died before he even joined the war and became... this. Captain America turned whatever he is now. But Natasha and Sam have become his family over the years. Not just because they're on the run together, fugitives and vigilantes, but way before that too.
He doesn't want to leave that.
But he knows that, realistically, he can't stay with them and they can't stay with him.
So he looks at them with a smile and lies. “I don't know.”
OR; In which Steve retires and finally finds a place to call home.
You Can’t Put Your Arms Around A Memory | 1148 words 🐈
"Alright, Bucky," Steve slows his steps, watches his neighbour stop at the bottom of the next flight of stairs. There's a canvas bag in his hand that Steve didn't notice earlier, cream coloured with the figure of a sleeping, black cat painted on it. "Have a good day."
He thinks Bucky's cheeks pink up a bit right then and there, but Steve can't tell. He's too distracted by his pounding, foolish heart, by the way Bucky smiles bashfully, and ducks his head. The way he seems like he wants to stay.
To Believe In Tomorrow | 3959 words 👨🏻‍🌾
Bucky's mornings at the community garden get a little more interesting when the new guy shows up.
Maybe This Christmas | 24873 words | Part 1 of Maybe ❄️
Bucky’s not going home for Christmas. But it’s fine. He’s spending Christmas alone in his apartment, but it’s cool. He’s not feeling up to seeing his family after his accident anyway, plus he has to work. He’s totally fine with it. But then he runs into Steve, literally, and suddenly his Christmas isn’t looking so empty after all.
-----
Hurrying was a bad idea. Bucky’s foot hits a patch of ice and slides out from under him in what would have been a comical cartoon banana-peel-like trip, if it wasn’t happening to him, and he braces himself to hit the ground. This is going to hurt.
“Fuck,” Bucky screeches, but as he lands on his back, it’s not the cold hard concrete he expected, but a solid mass beneath him. Oh god, Bucky thinks as he realises he smacked into the person behind him and took them down with him.
Maybe This Year (Will Be Better Than Last) | 133868 words | Part 2 of Maybe ❄️
Last year, Bucky Barnes met Steve Rogers. Well actually, he slipped and fell on him. What followed was the best Christmas either of them had ever had. But what happens when Christmas is over and life returns to normal? What happens after the Christmas miracle?
-----
Bucky should have known. He did know. When things seem too good to be true, they usually are. And Steve is the best thing that has happened to him in a long time, possibly ever, so of course it couldn’t last.
Maybe This Time (I Hope I Get The Chance To Say Goodbye) | 34561 words | Part 3 of Maybe ❄️
Steve and Bucky Barnes are happily married. They've made it through some hard times and come out stronger and happier, together. Then Steve gets called on to come out of retirement for the most important mission of his life and everything changes. Everything.
-----
“Have yourself a merry little Christmas…” Steve starts singing along softly, and Bucky chuckles, before leaning his head onto Steve’s shoulder, always happy when he’s in Steve’s arms.
“From now on, our troubles will be miles away…” Bucky joins in.
Dancing round their living room, just as in love as ever, their troubles seem light-years away, if not non-existent.
Sadly, they’re closer than they think.
The Unexpected Gift | 9504 words | Part 1 of When Winter Comes 🐕
Steve Rogers is fine.
After ending a long-term relationship with Sam Wilson, Steve moves back to New York. He's tired and lonely but depressed? No. At least, that's what he thinks.
From the window of his apartment, he watches a dark-haired man and his service dog sitting in the park, wondering what his story is.
The Winter Storm | 2218 words | Part 2 of When Winter Comes 🐕
"If I could give you one thing in life, I would give you the ability you see yourself through my eyes, only then would you realize how special you are to me."
After Bucky and Steve confessed their feelings for each other, life has its own twisted way to challenge the most profound love.
One January Night | 4213 words | Part 3 of When Winter Comes 🐕

Bucky Barnes Has His Shit Together (And Other Lies He Tells Himself) | 14159 words 🔒
You’d think a guy who owns one of the most successful bakeries in Brooklyn, has a million-dollar smile and that antiquated good ol’ boy charm, blond hair and blue eyes and biceps for days, would know what’s what.
But don’t let that fool you: Steve Rogers is a mess.
Obvious | 917 words ☕
"Oh, I have a prompt! So, it makes me laugh how painfully obvious Steve and Bucky's feelings are to everyone when they're in that pining, slowburn, does-he-doesn't-he phase. But imagine Steve and Bucky working in a coffee shop together and constantly bickering, nudging and playfully flirting with each other. And all the employees and patrons are so invested in their relationship and just want them to kiss already but no one realizes that Steve and Bucky have been married since they got out of HS."

Short Stuff
Word Count: 1,450
Warnings: Foul Lanugage, Deragtory Names, Offensive Terms, and One Sexual Phrase Implied
Description: Female reader is really short so the guys tease/ mock her for being so small.
This story was requested by @10v3ly. Thanks for the fun idea we hope you enjoyed this imagine.
We haven’t forgotten about all of our other request. We are working on them as we speak. We are trying to make them as detailed as possible so it may take a day or two to get them posted.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
My alarm goes off, reading 9:30 AM. It’s Saturday morning so that means naturally the guys are going to want to hang out today. After taking a quick shower, I picked out a pair of black leggings and a loose grey t-shirt. I figured I’d just dress casually and comfortably because I never know what the guys have in mind for the day. Plus, it’s probably best to not wear something tight-fitting around them, especially Patrick.  Unless you feel like getting groped~
I sigh looking for a decent pair of shoes to put on.  Majority of them have those little hidden wedges inside to give me some extra height.  My height is something I am always teased about since well.. I’m below average in the height category. Being so short makes normal tasks a  chore for me. I need a step stool for reaching dishes in the kitchen, I have to climb the shelves in the grocery stores just to reach the top, and people always assume I’m way younger than I really am.  Here I thought I was being teased a lot before, but that was nothing compared to what the Bower’s Gang puts me through now.
Hearing a loud car horn outside my bedroom window pulls me out of my daydream.  I quickly grab a pair of black wedge sneakers and hurry it along, knowing if I make the guys wait any longer, Patrick will scale alongside my house and physically bring me out.  Walking down the pathway to the car, I keep my head down.  I begin to feel a little self-conscious knowing they are all watching me. Henry was the first to make a comment. I don’t even have to look up at him, I can practically hear the smirk already.  “What the fuck took you so long? Did you fall in the toilet?” Of course, everyone laughs at this, until Vic chimes in next. “Nah man, her step stool tipped over so she got stuck.” This caused everyone to erupt into even more laughter, making me blush.
Henry opens the door to the Trans Ams, pushing the passenger seat up and allowing Patrick to climb out next.  Being so tall, he has to duck down just so he doesn't hit his head. You climb in, taking the middle seat with Vic in the left seat on the driver’s side and Patrick filing in on your right. Once everyone is in, Henry climbs back in, slamming the door shut.  Reggie takes off down the street, making small talk with  Henry about his beloveded car while Victor looks out the window.  I get comfortable in my seat, bending my knees so my feet are resting up against the center console.  Meanwhile, Patrick does not take his eyes off me.  Out of all the guys, he's definitely the most observant in the group.  He focuses on the little details about people, things most people would overlook-but not Patrick. Being the perv he is, I see him in my peripheral vision, looking at my legs.  I begin to stiffen a bit, but don’t move from the position I am in. I then see Patrick slowly begin to smile, tilting his head as his eyes zone in on my shoes. I grow more and more uncomfortable knowing he’s about to make a comment and embarrass the shit out of me.  His smirk becomes even more arrogant looking as he begins to say in the most condescending tone ever, “Cute shoes Y/N. I didn’t know you still shopped in the children's section.”  Everyone immediately turns their heads to look down at my feet. Reggie glances in the rearview mirror then quickly down at the console beside him, wanting in on the joke even though he’s busy driving. I quickly put my feet down on the floor, trying to avoid their eyes.  Vic puts his arm around my shoulder, pulling me in close as he still continues to laugh at Patrick’s joke. I felt relieved for a second thinking he was trying to comfort me and would tell the guys to lay off; but damn was I wrong. “You don’t have to hide Y/N. Considering your height, you don't have to play so hard to get when you’re already so hard to notice.” My jaw just drops, not even knowing how to respond. How dare that blonde fuck say that to me! I shrug my shoulders to get him off of me, leaning away from him but trying not to get close to Patrick either. Henry begins to mock, “aww stop pouting, you know it’s true!” He says as he reaches back trying to grab at my legs playfully.
Finally, after what feels like the longest car ride ever, we arrive at the junkyard.  Why do we even hang out here again? I ask myself. Belch begins to line up beer bottles and cans on a crate as the other guys take out paintball guns, getting ready to just mess around for fun. Good thing I brought my book with me because I have no interest in ‘target practice’. I turn the page of my book, about to continue reading when I notice Belch hovering over me. “What? ...you're making me nervous.” I say nervously chuckling. Belch just smiles and bends his knees, looking at me as if he’s an adult talking to a child. “Let me see what you’re reading Y/N.”  His facial expression looks like he has a hidden agenda. I hesitantly pass him my book, asking him to be careful not to lose my place. Belch flips through the pages with disinterest but just happy he has the book in hand.  Vic waltzes over with a smirk, taking the book from Belch. “Heeyy what’s this?” Vic tosses the bookmark out and throws it over his shoulder. “I told you to be careful! Now give it back” I say, standing up now, trying to grab it from him.  Vic purposely turns his body away from me.  Henry and Patrick look over at us and the scene they are causing.  Right away they smile and come over, wanting to join in on the teasing. “Hey Henry, quick, catch!”  He throws my book, Henry catching it and hiding it behind his back as I approach him. “I said, Give. It. Back.” I try to sound stern but he only laughs at my attempts. “What? I can’t hear you from down there midget. Ya know, on second thought- while you’re down there, how ‘bout you suck my dick.” So many emotions are rushing through my mind now. It felt like everything was spinning but I can see their mocking faces so clearly.  My blood boils from being annoyed and embarrassed all at once. Henry proceeds to throw my book, now tossing it to Patrick. I turn towards Patrick with a pleading,  defeated look on my face. However, pleading looks do not affect Patrick; it only encourages him to up his game, getting off on your emotions. He holds my book high above his head.  I go on my tippy-toes and try to jump in order to reach it but it’s no use. They continue to laugh at me especially when Patrick tauntingly leans down and says, “Does everyone have to lean down and give you a hug?”  The others just keep adding to the predicament, mocking me further. I attempt to shove them back out of frustration but they barely budge. Vic doesn’t let up on teasing me either. He finds it hilarious when I get angry.  “Always choosing to be upset..ya know I hate the things you chose to be...your height being at the top of the list.”  Since I was distracted by Vic’s comment, I hadn’t noticed Patrick threw the book to Henry again.  Henry dangles the book in my face, giving me false hope of grabbing it when he quickly pulls it away.  “Vic is right, how can someone so small be so hugely irritating?” I finally give in and sit down on the ground as they remain standing, circled around me.  I tried my best not to blink knowing I was about to cry. That’s when Belch chimes in, “Okay, okay, here’s your book back.”  He helps me back up and puts an arm around my shoulder as we walk back to the car now. “Y/N...I pray that in your next life, you won’t be as short.” I look at him playfully, smiling at me.  This time, I actually laughed with him… “I’ll give it to you.. that was a good one, Reggie.” After settling into the car, Patrick gives you one last smirk as he pats your head like a child, making you roll your eyes and sigh.

Tumblr media
'Shes a big fluffy teddy bear, and loves hugs, even if Shes crushing me~' henry froze hands quivering nervously over the keyboard. You replied? You actually? Holy shit! He bit his lip sitting up straighter with a grin and smoothed his hair back. He wasn't sure why it made him so happy but? He had a reply, and actual reply from a person! A woman!
Now what?
He wracked his brain and frowned. What does he say? Does he ask questions or just talk about dogs? He didn't know all he did know is that he had messaged a complete stranger and she had messaged back.
'I can imagine moving her must be hard work if she's comfy'
'Yeah but on the plus side she's always warm~ a huge hot water bottle'
'A numb but warm set of legs then😂'
'Absolutely! That sounds like the talk of a man who's been there?'
'Yes I have an American Akita, a very snuggly boy that gives me atleast one dead leg a day😅'
'Aww I love Akita's, I was going to get one but them Amii sort of fell into my lap, and has stayed there ever since'
'Big or small a lap dog is a lap dog'
'Definitely😂' Henry paused. Shit what does he do now? Does he just ask questions? Explain a bit more about himself? Both seemed a little too juvenile... And it was scary... Awkward he wants a nice chat, for conversation to flow naturally. He didn't want to fuck up. There was another ping as you typed another message.
' I have to say I'm surprized I got a message on here, only been on here for a few days😅' henry was thankfull, you wasn't going to judge. You were both in the same boat. Both nervously talking to a stranger in the hopes of there being something more. It made replying a little easier, he hoped that things would get less awkward after breaking the ice.
'Really? I made mine today... not sure about all this new online stuff but will figure it out'
'Well I'd say your doing alright,  at least you had the courage to message someone, i made the profile then chickened out😅'
'I almost did, your the first profile that caught my eye'
'Was it Amii?'
'No, as cute as she is you lacked a duck face selfie, and you look very sweet and have kind eyes' henry froze after sending the message. Shit, shit! That was fucking cheese! Cringe and just a fuck up! He quickly wracked both hands through his hair and cursed trying to think of a way to get out of this but nothing came to mind... And then he saw it the tiny y/n is typing... At the bottom of the screen, he winced dreading the reply he was going to get. He bit his lip worried he hopes he hasn't tripped at the first hurdle.
'Thank you that's kind of you to say. And is a missing duck face that strange?🤔'
'Every woman has a duck face'
'Well I do not have a duck face'
'Really?🤨'
'Well not a good one 😅My duck face is sub par more a fish face, call me guppy😂' he chuckled, you did have a sense of humour which was good. He liked making people laugh and not having them take everything so seriously, it meant he could relax and let loose. To just have fun! He heaved a big sigh unconsiously petting Kal as he sat up and leant on his leg. He quickly began typing once more finding it easier chatting with a stranger with each message.
'🤣🤣 I got to admit I'm not sure what to talk about, this is my first time🤔'
'Well that makes us both online virgins😅lets start with the important things shall we?' Henry froze panicking. 'Oh god! Oh god! What ere you going to ask?!' He thought watching the little dots on the screen holding his breath dreading you'd ask for picture or something. He was put out of his misery with a tiny ping sound and your message popped up. He threw his head back and laughed outloud seeing the all important question.
'Who's your favourite superhero?' You were definitely a geek girl, just like he wanted. He bit his lip and typed without needing to think of the answer.
'Superman, afterall he is the grand daddy of all superheroes. You?'
'Oh your not gonna like this~ I love batman🤗' henry smiled at the screen and leant back wiping his mouth trying to massage the ache from his cheeks. He really was grinning ear to ear just from speaking to you so... Unguarded he was just being himself and it was freeing!
'Oh no!😱can I ask why?' He typed quickly not wanting you to think he was going to keep you on read? Was that what they called it nowadays?
'He proves that at 30 you can have a dramatic goth early midlife crisis and that regular assholes can be heroes too, all you need is money🤗🤗'
'🤣🤣 oh god! You know I never thought of it like that!' henry shook his head laughing out loud as he replied
'But you'll be happy to know supes is number three on my list'
'Well he makes the top three so that's salvageable😆'
'Yeah... Two is Captain America though'
'Rich goth with issues, man with an expensive tea tray, then supes got it 👌👍'
'Omg yes!😂that's sums it up beautifully🤣' after that the conversation moved on which he was a little thankful for. Not that he disliked geeking out but... it'd be easy for him to slip up on that subject. Luckily though he didn't have to think of a change of topic as you began chatting away casually about your day and he did in return before long the conversation was over too soon as you stated you really had to get on with filling out these payslips. So the chat drew to a close with promises of speaking tomorrow.

And you kept your promise. For the next week you both spent your evenings chatting away at one another becoming fast friends. That was when he decided to let his family know in the new weekly face time zoom chats.
He looked to the screen fidgeting as his family spoke amongst themselves trying to find the right moment to break the news. But his mother had noticed and asked him out right, leaning closer to the screen watching him worriedly.
"Henry? Are you alright your looking nervous?" The others stopped speaking at the question and henry heaved a sigh nervously twisting his fingers.
"Yeah yeah I... I just have some news... Is all" he said swallowing trying to find the words. He was worried, it had been a while since he'd tried to introduce someone new into his life and his family. He didn't want to alarm them but... he wanted to forewarn them that he was on his way to hopefully sharing his life with someone.
"News? Oh its nothing bad is it?" His younger brother asked, but his oldest paused straightening up with a smile already guessing his brother had taken his advice.
"No nothing bad... Its really good actually... I'm sort of... well I'm speaking to someone online... A woman"  he stuttered rubbing the back of his neck and called Kal onto the sofa with him stroking his fur trying to calm himself and fend of the huge grin that seemed to spread across his face everytime he thought of you.
"You did it?" His eldest brother called out clapping his hands excitedly. A ripple of confusion washed over the others and they frowned looking to one another unsure what had happened between the two.
"Did what love?" His mother finally asked not understanding what her sons were talking about
"I made an online dating profile" he said plainly drawing gasps from everyone.
"Oh gosh love are you okay? Your not being hounded are you?" His mother jumped immediately concern etched deep in her features. His father looked uncomfortable-hell they all did! Each worrying over him. He wasn't surprized they had seen fans both love and hate on him and his partners.
"No mum its fine-better then fine I'm really carful... I've covered my ass and no one knows its me, she doesn't know" he said trying to placate his family but instead he was rewarded with disappointed faces, tutting and small, cringing hisses. Fuck.
"Oh god Henry you haven't made a fake profile? Tell me you didn't- please tell me your not lying to this poor woman" his father scolded sternly. His dad may not be up to speed with all this new age online dating shenanigans but he did know that it was wrong to lie to a potential partner. Just thinking that one of his boys were doing just that left a bad taste in his mouth. If he could he would clip his son around the ear!
"Well no not exactly- its me and I'm myself on there I just... changed my name to Hank... And crop my photos so she can see me but not recognise me that's all! I swear I'm not lying or-or anything!" he explained willing then to understand but with the deep sighs and unimpressed looks he got it would seem they didn't understand or approve.
"Are you sure about this? What will she think if things get serious and then this young lady finds out you've been lying?" he father spoke up again wanting to hash this out. Henry faltered for a moment, he worried about that too. He was frightened that you'd get angry and leave him without even giving him a chance!
"I'm not lying, I just? just omitting certain details about my life, I'm being me I'm showing her the real quirky geeky side of me- this is? Its my one shot! The only chance I'm going to get to have someone look at me, not what they can get out of me... I'm not going to blow it or hurt her... if we get to that point then I will explain things- she'd understand she's really thoughtful and is logical" henry pleaded trying to convince both himself and his family. He cant ignore it, he was worried and had been telling himself over and over you'd understand. But he also knew it could really shake you up. But what he was doing wasn't wrong! It couldn't be helped, he thought they would understand!
"Well I hope so because you could break her heart son... And I want you to understand that, this woman could fall for you. You could really upset her when she finds out" his father finally spoke drawing the issue to a close not wanting to argue, but he still wanted henry to know what ever happens was his own fault good or bad. Not everything ends with a happy ever after, but he didn't need to voice that out loud. Henry knew, they all did.
"I know dad, I've only been speaking to her just over a week anyway, for all i know she will ghost me or something" henry nodded calming a little not wanting to fight but still it was clear to everyone henry hadn't appreciated the lecture.
"Ghosting?" he mum perked up trying to diffuse the situation not wanting this to blow up. Tensions were high and no one needed a family spat at the moment.
"Its when someone stop talking to you and ignores you for no reason" his brother revealed explaining the term to his parents. They both ahh'd in realisation but were still a little tense. So his younger brother spoke up deciding to try and be more supportive to him. And henry was thankful.
"Well how about you tell us about her henry. What's you lady freind like? What does she do?" henry quickly grinned forgetting the irritation. His family watched the sudden change as henry got the chance to boast about the woman who had caught his fancy. It was sobering to see, he was glowing with pride and excitement, overjoyed from just thinking about this mystery girl.
"She's just? God where do I start? Shes amazing and funny and wholesome... She doesn't live too far away- Shes pretty much on my doorstep! Shes really funny and nice we talk everyday and have soo much in common its amazing we like the same music and tv and just- everything! Its like talking to a female version of myself! And Shes a fan too" his family all seemed to warm to the idea of this woman until his final remark. Everyone paused. And so did he, what was so wrong about her being a fan? Why was that a red flag for them and not him?
"A fan? Henry... are you sure she doesn't know? If she's a fan she might know and be... making her answers more favourable" henry bristled at that and visibly leaned back brows furrowed and eyes glowing, showing as much anger as he dared show his mother who had spoken out against you.
"What? No! No she doesn't mum she hasn't got a clue- Shes not a fan of mine per say but? She likes my work, she's a huge lover of DC and fantasy so has seen the Witcher and she loved it! Shes really just like me! Is that really hard to believe? That there are women like me? That enjoy the same things?" what had started as a panicked explination quickly became heated and sour. His words slowly becoming uncharacteristically venomous. But Marie Ann new it was just him getting defensive, he was frightened. He had this silly belief he was an abnormality, that his interests will make him forever alone. The thing that did stand out was just how defensive he was about you. A woman he'd probably not even met yet, someone he was only chatting to. It wasn't like henry to take to someone soo quickly. It made her hopeful, that he really had found someone, found his soulmate. But she was a mother and couldn't help worry over him, no matter how old or huge her boys got they were just that. Her boys. And she will always feel the need to look after them.
"Henry please don't get angry, I didn't mean to upset you but... I worry" she said slowly trying to calm him before he got himself into a tizzy. She could see much more then he wanted her too. And right now he was anxious, probably questioning himself over this woman and the way he was approaching her. She could only hope her son was right and had covered his ass and that this woman was as understanding as he said. Otherwise henry was about to get a wakeup call like never before. It wasn't everyday a well known actor fakes a dating profile. It'd be a media shitstorm that he may not recover from.
"I.. sorry I didn't mean to- y/n isn't like that I... I just know alright she isn't after anything" henry apologized smoothing back his hair taking a huge breath and leant back once more relaxing.
"So why don't you tell us a little more about her son? You've been speaking for a week so must know a little more then her name and were she lives?" she said moving on wanting to coax more information about the woman.
"Well she has her own successful business that caters to dogs, walking, grooming and rehoming and is a kc registered breeder. Shes thirty years old and... Absolutely stunning- and no she hasn't filtered any photos either...wait here! See?! Isn't she beautiful?" Henry gushed quickly bringing up your profile picture he had saved on his phone and holding the phone to the camera. He heard a few compliments but could still see the worry in his family. He understood but he just new. He new that you were real, that you were honest and everything you said you were. You were blunt and didn't have time for games, you said life's too short for that crap. And he agreed.
"You have a photo saved already?" henry faltered at the question that had followed a round of compliments and quickly pulled his phone back flushing embarrassed he hadn't even thought of how that would look
"I.. w-well yeah... I'm gonna ask for her number soon and want a photo for my phone... We decided to stick to messaging for a while first and" he tried desperately to dig himself out of the hole he'd just unceremoniously swan dived into. But his brothers burst into laughter making whipping motions making him flush and shrink further. They were definetly going to busting his balls for this. But with a quick shake of his head he continued to gush about you wanting to side step this whole premature photo saving incident.
"she doesn't have Instagram or snapchat... she's just... I can't explain it she's just funny and sweet and genuine... I really like her.. I could easily fall for her" silence reigned after his admission and everyone saw just how serious and devoted henry was to trying to make this relationship work. His mum nodded with a smile, this was just a watch and wait scenario. This woman would either make or break her son, and all she could do was hope to god it was the former.
"Okay then love. I'm happy for you henry just be careful okay?" she finally drew the curtain on the subject and everyone sighed in relief.
"I will, I promise but you have nothing to worry about, I just wanted to let you guys know that i might have someone for you to meet in a few months" henry said eagerly, like a small boy waiting on Christmas eve. He was full of life and enthusiasm. It was nice to see this side to him again, she'd dare say he was well on his way to being loved up! Smitten.
"And we look forward to it henry, but take your time. There's no rush just enjoy yourself" one of his brothers spoke up jumping in on the conversation wanting to make it clear they all had his back whether this ended good or bad. For now they were happy for him.
"I will, we decided were wont meet for a while and just see how things go for the time being but... I have a good feeling, she's everything I've been looking for I'm really excited" henry preened trying to pace himself, he didn't need to be daydreaming in a family face time. Luckily he was pulled from the edge of his own fantasies by another question.
"You said she had a company?"
"Yeah here I'll send you the link its called Puptown! She's actually handled Kal a few times, I send him there for his nails and teeth" henry said quickly sending the link to his brother. He wasn't stupid they were going to look you up, they were worried. He might aswell sent them the link. There was a tiny bio on there of you- the owner on the staff page that had all the staffs qualifications and roles on there.

You moved through the groom room Amii was curled up under your desk fast asleep as you began taking a stock list. Recently you'd been getting more and more white dogs in for their groom so needed to top up on the bright white shampoo and it was tick season soon so had to double check you had all the tick removal forceps, and ear powder- lots of ear powder the poodle clients had doubled over lock down after all the new puppies bought in lockdown. Every dog deserves a professional groom. But poodles needed them.
"hey boss! You doing another check?" Mandy called as she hoisted a tiny black poem into the bath. Bella a regular and very few people could actually groom her out of the five staff only two of you dared to try. And you didn't blame them this dog was a tiny savage, but the trick was not to show fear.
"yeah, trying to prepare for summer already, you know i think this will be our busiest yet especially with lord whiskey." you muttered nibbling the pen and moving a few bottles about. Flea treatment and some dry skin conditioner were quickly added to your growing list.
"lord whiskey?" Mandy asked louder over the sound of the shower instantly Bella began snarling like the hell demon she was. On walks and about the place she was a little soppy loving lap pup, but when it came to bath time? Different dog. You cant help thinking she had a bad experiance before she came here. You sighed and placed the pad and pen down standing along side the bathe and began petting the tiny dog.
"yeah they are the vet clinic for lower incomes... They want to set up a new clinic and have reached out" you explained you had to admit the request came out of the blue and you hadn't had chance to tell everyone yet. The staff meeting was on Friday.
"that would be good!" she said slowly wetting the snarling prom that was trying her absolute hardest to frighten you both off. But alas she was no great wolf, but a teeny cute little raging fluff nugget, and to her utter dispair neither you or Mandy found her scary at all. Even if she was trying to foam at the mouth.
"yeah that's what I thought, having a vet on site... We're still talking but if everything goes acording to plane we will have the mobile vet out front while setting up the small clinic... I was thinking in the old groom rooms? They had water and electricity already and its a littl out of the way so the unwell puppets can be separate from the healthy customers" you shrugged moving around Mandy to help tend to your most vocal customer.
"so business will be booming?" Mandy said moving to rinse underneath the small feral beast. You giggled and stood Bella on her back legs as she seethed but in between her savagery she was actually licking at you, showing a hint of the sweet girl she really was. You pet her praising her promising chicken treats and snuggles afterwards. You might even pop Amii in with the others in the small day care pen. Bella liked laying on her using the huge dog as a fluffy bed.
"yes hopefully, i mean were not taking anything for them, they are a charity but hopefully we will get a few visits in the shop? And the more people know about us the more likely they are to use us!" you said you had been weighing up the pros and cons about the new venture. More people visiting the premises, more footfall in the shop and hopefully you can draw enough people to have a little pet café. Your business was right on the edge of the huge woodland park you'd always wanted a small café that serves both animals and people you want a little empire to become a franchise company and give the little guys a chance.
"And how about you? Any luck on the online dating front?" she asked with a small smile. You sighed you half regretted telling her about it. Mandy has been with you since the beginning, she was your first employee and most trusted freind. And she has been hounding you about your love life for a while now. She wants you to take a step back from Puptown and find some time for yourself, and now that the business was established and ticking over nicely it was the time to do it.
"Ooo! Oh my god your blushing!? Bitch spill!" she squealed excited as you flushed and looked away not answering her. And by doing so answering her at the same time.
"I'm talking to someone~ Hank.. He is... Funny and charming we've been chatting each night for about a week" you revealed quietly making her beam at you. Thankfully Bella chose that moment to make a mad dive over your shoulder but you managed to catch her and pop her back into the tub.
"ooo yes get in girl, you have been pouring too much into this company! Its about damn time you focused on yourself" sandy began as she washed Bella lathering the pup with a rather expensive de-sheading anti tangle shampoo.
"Please don't start, I'm doing it now and that's what matters. He is... He messaged me first and things are going good and that's where I'm going to leave it okay? I will update you as we go... I promise" you said releasing the now wet pup as Mandy began rinsing her down. You stepped back to the shelves full of half empty bottles of product. needing to change the topic to avoid daydreaming and fucking up your orders. As great as the wholesaler was this was still expensive stuff and you didn't want to unbalance the books and get more then you needed.
"Oh Bella?~ baby girl its so bad isn't it? Being brushed and washed and massaged? Then getting yourself a blow out and having a nap in the nice cosy play room?" you called over your shoulder condescendingly at the pup who was still snarling out her displeasure. She really was a little brat in the bath.

Another week passed and you were lazing around the house having a duvet day, snuggled in bed with Amii on your lap. Normally your days off were all housework and finalizing orders or paper work but this week was different. With lord whiskey agreeing to taking the old groom room you decided to finally get an extra set of hands in management to take care of paperwork. It was strange at first but worth it. You now hade someone else to rely on, not that you didn't have managers to help out before but now you had a full time employee that's whole role was to take care of the business side and alleviate the pressure. So instead of the normal made rushes and mountain of paperwork you were in bed chatting away with henry.
He had just finished his work out and was relaxing, having a cool down before having yet another painfully boring sounding meeting with his own bosses. You sympathised. Practical work was the bomb! But the theory and paperwork kicked everyones asses. Risk assessments can eat shit! I'm a person and can asses the risk and decided to do it, why answer to a tick box system? But then again everything needed a tick in a box nowadays. You shuffled about grunting as Amii played dead on your lap so you couldn't move her from the comfy slump she was in over your thighs pinning you down.
'Soo you said you game?'  was the message that changed the subject, thankfully choosing to move on from speaking about work.
'God yes, when I can'
'What do you play? Sims and stuff?'
'depends if I'm on pc or xbox I'm more into fantasy and historic rpgs, but if I'm on my switch its little farming sims sometimes I branch out to things like shooters but not often, I like the big immersive fantasies!'
'So you really do mix and match are you playing anything atm?'
'I'm doing a re-run of skyrim with a load of mods just to spice things up. And just restarted Witcher wild hunt again'
'You like Witcher?'
'I adore it, Witcher skyrim and dragon age are my all time favourites, do you? Sorry I realise I'm just takeing over, I just get excited, I never really talk about this stuff 😅😅'
'No, no its fine I'm the same, I never really get to geek out anymore with work and stuff. I'm happy to have the chance, and I do love the Witcher too fantasy is my thing😄' henry paused for a moment. Should he? I mean you just said you were replaying it... Would it be big headed? To ask what you thought of the show? Of his performance... I mean it'd be an unbiased view, you wasn't going to try and butter him up you still didn't know it was him.
'So you've watched the show on Netflix I presume?' he typed and pressed send quickly before he lost his nerve.
'Absolutly, I binge watched it a few times.😅'
'You liked it? I know a few people didn't' henry couldn't help but dig a little deeper, he desperately wanted you to have enjoyed it.
'I loved it, but I think it was easier for me to watch bc I new what was roughly going on before hand. Most people that struggled thought it was going to be an easy watch? Like got'
'Oh come on, there must be something you didn't like?🤔🤔'
'😞okay you got me, I was a tad disappointed with geralts eyes you can do the toxic eyes and cat eye potion at least give me a teeny cat eye just a smidge🤏🥺'
'Yes I see what you mean, their could have been a little frame of it but there are always sacrifices when going from books to the big screen 😅'
'But henry's portrayal more then made up for it! That man was on point! I was so happy when they anounced it was him playing Geralt there was no way he was going to fuck it up!' henry stopped breathing. You liked it? You actually like him playing Geralt? His heart swelled and he laughed out loud for some reason you enjoying his work just... It meant the world to him! He was over the moon. Quickly his attention was drawn to his tablet again as another message pinged on screen.
'And I have a little fan theory over the whole eye issue😏'
'Hit me with it I'm all ears'
'Geralt has complete control of his eyes right? And is a softy deep down so my idea was he is always holding his pupils open so he doesn't scare anyone'
'🧐that is brilliant! It makes so much sense! 🥰🥰 its also nice to know I have a little conspiracy fangirl on my hands😁'  henry frowned heart clenching as you went quiet, he waited and waited minuets seemed like hours. His mind immediately jump to conclusions terrified you had caught him, that you'd figured out just who you were speaking to. Sweat formed on his brow as he frowned praying he hadn't got a little to close to home and given himself away. Then the dots appeared. You were typing.
'So I was wondering I know we agreed not to at first but since we've chatting every night I thought we could maybe exchange numbers? Only if you want to! No pressure. I'm just excited' henry slumped, melting into his seat. Thank fuck for that! His relief quickly became excitement at the prospect of hearing you! Actually speaking to you properly having an actual phone call? Fuck yes!
'😊😊I was actually trying to find the time to mention it myself, i know its only been three weeks but it feels much longer.'
'Omg thank god! I thought you would think i was rushing you😅here xxx xxxx xxxx' henry was quick to pull out his phone and type the number in, not wasting any time in creating your contact info into his phone book. And whislt doing that also replied to you putting you at ease.
'No not at all, I'm excited I cant wait to hear you🥰'
'Oh god don't build your hopes to high I don't have the most attractive voice it may be the deal breaker😅'
'I doubt that anything could put me off you love, your gorgeous, smart, funny, kind everything I could of dreamed of and soo much more'
'I'm glad its not only me Hank, I have to say I was frightened by how quickly we have become friends, but I suppose it makes sense we are two peas in a pod' henry grinned reading the message and nodded to himself pressing the small green call button and held the phone to his ear feeling confident as he re-read your last message.

You hummed nibbling your lip, chewing it nervously after giving out your number. You couldn't help your mind dredging up all the horror stories of Ted bundy-esque creepy ass psycho killers, luring in prey on the internet... Fuck you were a bigger girl so easy to sweet talk. You whined and snuggled into the massive furry lump on your lap, lacing your fingers into the dogs thick fur. Petting her as your over active imagination conjured scenario's that could end up with you in a eight foot hole in someone's basement ,being told to 'put the lotion in the basket'. Jesus Christ. But it was fine right? He wasn't weirded out or anything? He seemed happy. You were sensible, or at least you thought you were.
You yipped at your phone suddenly vibrated in your hand, you almost threw it across the room. The screen lit up with 'unknown number' you swallowed eyeing the device then nodded answering the call heart beat thundering in your chest your breath picked up you made to speak but couldn't quite make sounds, unable to force the words to roll off your tongue. There was a deep chuckle, gorgeas and rumbling even if it was quiet.
"You have no reason to be frightened darling I'm just as eager to move on" you gasped as the thick voice spoke in slow syllables, calling you by the nick name he had taken to calling you. You'd asked a few girls at work about it, worried things were going to fast. But they had calmed you down saying it was his way of avoiding being freind zoned. You had to admit the cute little names always made you grin and blush, but this? God this was better then anything! His low timber and slightly more eloquent accent uttering the name sent a shiver up your spine.
A surprizing reaction in all honesty, you'd never really thought about voices much, never had a voice kink or really thought anyone could have an attractive voice. Well not a real voice anyway, sometimes characters on tv with low raspy voices got you going Geralt and Alcide to name a few. He almost sounded like the former if you thought about it... Just more refined? A regal soft lilt.  It was definetly a voice you could listen to all day, this man could read you a bloody take away menu and you wouldn't even gruff at the extortionate prices. You wet your lips and dug your fingers into the warm dog in your lap breathing deep, filling your lungs with air trying to ease yourself and draw in some courage.
"O-oh your? Really there? Really.. real?" you stuttered slowly. You chided yourself for sounding so silly, so childish. But you couldn't help it you felt completely unprepared. Which irritated you because it was you who'd offered your number, what were you expecting him to do with it? Use carrier pigeon? Of course he was going to call you.
"I'm most definitely real love" he spoke again with a small chuckle, he was clearly amused by your flustered question. You blushed and squirmed on your seat trying to breath quietly, you didn't want him to hear just how on edge you were.
"Oh gosh that's.. wow I cant even, I don't know what to say" you huffed trying to think of something- anything else you could focus on rather then the absolute sex that was his voice, then he spoke once more
"Now, now don't be shy love, I want to hear you, your voice is just as I thought it'd be" henry tried encouraging you wanting to hear you and revel in your sweet voice, wanting to commit it to memory.
"Oh? And what's that then?" you asked trying to be playfull but in all honesty you wasn't hitting the mark, you were to nervous. You'd never really thought about your voice, was it attractive? Or too high? Deep? I mean you were normal, you spoke normal and if anything sounded common.
"Pure and delicate, playful and charming all in one just like the woman it belongs to" henry's breathing hitched as you giggled. The sweet tinkling laugher warmed his heart and made him huff out a chuckle himself. He was so happy he could have cried. It was just so overwhelming to hear you finally, to put a voice to the amazing woman he was slowly falling inlove with. He sometimes grew wary thinking you were too good to be true, that you were a catfish yourself. But here and now he knew. You were as real as him and all it did was solidify his resolve, he was doing the right thing. He was falling for a genuine woman. A real woman with no strings attached, and with any luck you were feeling the same.
"well I think I just found my mans flaw~" you giggled once more blushing under the weight of all the compliments. He was really smooth, smoother then you'd thought and that was saying something.
"really darling? Care to enlighten me?" he quipped playfully you usual banter and teasing between you both flowing just as effortlessly as it had when messaging each other.
"your clearly deaf! Well have no fear, i will talk a little louder and learn some sign language for you~" you laughed out loud he joined you low echoing chuckles that sounded as if they came from a deep wide chest. It was enough to drive you mad with lust, but that may be the new found voice kink brewing.
"well its nice to know you are so committed to your man and his disability love" suddenly you froze and trembled panic and anxiety washed over you clogging  your wind pipe at his words... Fuck!
"oh god- no I? Your not really deaf are you? I'm sorry I didn't mean to make fun-" you began apologizing not quite picking up on his sarcasm. Henry was quick to cut you off and stop your guilty rambling.
"No love I'm not deaf I was just pulling your leg" his voice was strained as if he was trying not to laugh at you, but you couldn't really say anything. You were the one nervously crack jokes then immediately trying to take them back. Stumbling your wat through the very first real conversation with a man you were crushing on. God you were such a dweeb!
"oh Jesus you scared the crap out of me" you heaved a sigh wanting to bury yourself into the covers and hide despite knowing he couldn't see your glowing face.
"I apologize darling, I have only the purest of intentions... Well maybe not that pure~ but I don't want to scare you" he grinned when you gasped at his little flirtatious comment. And he wasn't kidding, he found you incredibly attractive and wanted to do all manner of very filthy things with you. It didn't help when you were sending him photos of you drenched nipples hard and drawing him in like a moth to a flame. You probably hadn't even noticed that and he was thankfull for it because you wouldn't have sent it otherwise. It was his favourite photo, apparantly it had been a husky escape from the bath as you switched his lead to another hook.
"your fine, I'm just a little nervous is all" you huffed finally somehow managing to sort yourself out and think clearly overcoming your excitement and nerves.
"I understand but just remember its just me love. So have anything else planned for today?" henry hummed sweetly before giving you a chance to change the topic, you'd never know it was because he was barely holding himself together. He was almost bursting at the seams wanted to laugh and cry and shout all at once. He was completely overwhelmed with joy and relief and wanted to listen to you as much as he possibly could.
Tumblr media
Both you and henry then began the nightly ritual of phone calls and texted all day. He even had a new nick name. Puppy. And he couldn't be more thrilled you'd said it was because he made tiny cute puppy whines when you teased him. But he didn't care, he would happily be your puppy anyday!
The weeks became one month, then two and before you knew it you were one week shy of three months. And that was when it happened. Those fateful words left his mouth as he spoke to you just before bed. He had asked to meet, he was certain and confident he wanted to meet you and take this further, and he hadn't really planned to ask it just happened.
"So your really letting lord whiskey in your old groom space? That's incredible, I'm so proud of you for letting them in love. It says volumes for you and your business, that its not all profit driven" henry spoke down the phone as he stirred his tea getting ready to go up to bed.
"I mean it just seems right... No matter the income everyone should be able to get medical care for their animals. And I'd be lying if I didn't hope some people will come into the shop or realise that we are here and come back for our facilities." he smiled at that. You wasn't just trying to make a great profitable business, you cared and wanted to give everyone a reasonably priced alternative to pooch care. And he was right behind you, he loved that you were trying to give owners the chance to spoil their fur babies without breaking the bank. In slashing your prices you'd attracted more customers and been making a great profit, so much so that you could afford to just give away your old groom rooms to the charity for free.
"shop? You have a shop?" he pondered padding about the kitchen giving Kal his nightly biscuit treat and motioned for him to take it upstairs. Which he didn't need to do, Kal new the jig and was already carrying the treat to the stairs.
"yeah it opened last year? The year before maybe? Its small but here with food and treats a few toys and leads... I try to use smaller businesses the brands that you wont see in the bigger shops" you said slowly and he heard a small yawn and rustle of paper. You had said you were packing up and heading to bed for the night soon.
"I may have to pop over with the bear~" he teased coyly humming to himself as he sipped his tea.
"pop over? I.. Well you could I suppose?" you hummed quietly, henrys eyes almost popped out of his head were you inviting him to ask you out? He coughed quickly trying not to choke on the mouthful of tea and then rocked his head from side to side. I mean he could come over and see you.
"I'm only ten minuet's away darling, Kensington... I've actually used your grooming service once or twice getting the bears nails and teeth done"
"oh?! I didn't know that." you said trying to picture the owners of the akita you saw, but honestly? You had soo many customers now it was hard remembering everyone, that and you wasn't really front of house now, you had more and more to deal with back of house, even with the new manager.
"well you do now sweetheart... So? Do you want to meet up tomorrow?" he asked placing his tea down in favour of crossing his fingers hoping he had read your signals right.
"Yeah of course I'm covering for walking duty tomorrow... So I can't really do anything in the morning or early afternoon" henry fist pumped and grinned faking a silent shout of victory as he managed to wrangle a date.
"That's fantastic actually... I could meet you in the park? I'll bring the bear with me and we could walk the dogs and grab a coffee or something?" he said somehow managing to quell his excitement enough to arrange the date properly, placeing a hand on his heart as it beat wildly. The realisation that he could see you- meet you face to face!
"Yeah that sounds like a brilliant idea, will noon be alright? That's when we do a switch over and go back to feed the dogs in day care so I'll have an hour lunch break" you said stuttering a little when it began to sink in that this was happening!
"Its a date I will see you tomorrow at noon love" Henry anounced eagerly suddenly tomorrow couldn't come soon enough!
"See you then puppy, good night sweet dreams" you said needing to hang up and squeal into a pillow or something.
"sweet dreams love" as soon as he hung up he was already scrolling his phone selecting the number he was after and called in a tizzy.
"Piers?! Piers! I'm? Oh god- were meeting tomorrow and fuck- I'm freaking out already! What do I say? What should I wear- kal's coming too do I put his halti on or just his collar- fuck I don't know what to do!? Please help!" he yelped down the phone to the unsuspecting man drawing a deep sigh from him before he began talking him down.

Part I of Los Guardianes
Tumblr media
You had assumed, in your little flirtation with Nestor, that he was joking about coming around injured. So, when he showed up two days later, a little late for afternoon pickup, with a large piece of bloodstained gauze taped to one side of his face, you were shocked.
Your classroom was empty, and your aide had left for the day, leaving you to hang out with Cristóbal while you waited for Nestor to arrive. You were sitting at your desk with Cristóbal beside you, each of you scribbling away with crayons on coloring pages. Movement registered in the corner of your vision and you glanced up to see Nestor standing in the doorway, his face bandaged and the arm of his dress shirt covered in dried blood. His normally immaculate dress pants and shirt were covered in a layer of silt. You inhaled sharply as you rose from your seat, your feet carrying you quickly to stand in front of him. Cristóbal went to Nestor immediately, wrapping himself around Nestor’s leg in a fierce hug. Nestor sagged against the door frame with a grimace and your fingers reached for him instinctively, pausing when he met your gaze. But there was something encouraging in his glance, so you placed your cool hand softly against the feverish skin around the gauze. His eyes closed for just a moment, leaning into your touch, before you spoke.
“You know, I didn’t think you were actually going to take me up on my offer… I’m not sure I have any robot bandaids big enough for all this,” you teased quietly, tracing the bloodstained dressing. Nestor’s eyes opened and he smirked. You pulled your hand away, exceedingly aware of your rapidly increasing heart rate.
“Are you ok?”
His nod was slight, but it made you feel a little better. “I’m sorry I was late,” he mumbled, wincing as he took a breath. “I hate that you had to stay on my account.” He tapped Cristóbal and motioned for him to collect his backpack out of his cubby. Cristóbal did as he was asked, leaving you standing there alone with Nestor.
“Nestor, it’s really fine. Besides, if someone else had come to pick him up, I probably would have assumed you were dead, and that would have been worse.”
He studied you seriously for a few seconds, his expression giving nothing away. You tucked your arms behind your back nervously, rocking back onto your heels, but you managed to keep your eyes locked on his.
“Still,” he said finally. “I’d like to make it up to you. Can I take you out for a drink?” Cristóbal lumbered over, his backpack comically large on his small frame.
You smiled softly, trying not to appear as flustered as you felt on the inside. “Yeah. I’d like that.”
Nestor grinned, and underneath the blood and filth, his face lit up. “I’ll text you,” he said with a quick nod, his stare raking over your body briefly before turning and ushering Cristóbal to the car.
Nestor had texted you that same evening and asked you to grab a drink with him the next day, which was how you found yourself at a low-key, dimly lit bar on the outskirts of Santo Padre on a Friday night. Your inclination towards promptness meant you had arrived fifteen minutes early, so you headed inside and took a seat at the bar, ordering a gin and ginger.
You glanced around you, trying to hold back the nervousness fluttering in your belly. You fiddled with the hem of your black dress before laying it flat against your thigh. In your classroom, you rarely wore anything other than pants and leggings. Working with preschoolers meant that you were always prepared to be crouching, crawling on the ground, sitting on the floor, bending over, carrying kids on your hip, cleaning up various bodily fluids, getting things spilled on you. So, it was always a treat to get to dress up and you felt extra cute tonight.
Shortly after the bartender returned with your drink, you heard Nestor’s low, familiar voice near the shell of your ear.
“I was supposed to buy that for you,” he murmured, and you shivered just slightly at the fanning of his warm breath on your neck. His hand grazed your lower back as he passed you to take the stool next to yours.
You ducked your head to hide your grin. “You can buy the next one.”
Your smile faltered as he faced you completely and you got a clearer look at his injuries. He had forgone the gauze on his face, instead opting for a series of butterfly closures running down the jagged cut along his cheekbone. He was sporting a shiner on the eye on that side, but he seemed like he was in one piece otherwise.
“How’s the face?” you asked with a grimace.
“I’ve had worse,” he told you before ordering a beer from the bartender.
“I guess a life of crime would do that to you,” you said, and he glanced over at you with a raised eyebrow, perhaps trying to gauge how you meant it. You tossed him a wink and he smirked, shaking his head slightly.
“So,” you asked casually, “how did you end up being a security detail to the little man?”
“Big man’s mad at me.”
You laughed. “What?”
Nestor sighed, smoothing his facial hair with a hand punctuated by scabbed knuckles. “I, uh – fucked up, a while ago. Caused a lot of issues for Mikey. He put me on school duty as a punishment, I guess.” He paused, tossing back his beer. “But things are really tense right now, too, and I think it helps Mikey to have Cristóbal with someone he trusts. So, he kept me on it. And it’s fine, you know? They’re my family.”
He met your gaze meaningfully. “And it’s a nice way to start the morning,” he added.
“You’re really good with Cristóbal,” you commented warmly, heat rising on your cheeks. You hoped he couldn’t tell just how much you adored that about him.
Nestor’s lips curled into a small smile. “I’ve been around his whole life. Plus, he’s a pretty great kid.”
“Can confirm.” You paused around a sip of your cocktail. “So, I would imagine that you can’t share too much, but what does being the head of security for a cartel boss entail?”
Nestor’s eyes darkened broodingly, and you wondered if you’d overstepped, although you’d tried to acknowledge that you realized there were things you weren’t allowed to know. He leaned onto the top of the bar on his elbow, studying you again. “A lot of illegal shit. A lot of violence.” He paused thoughtfully. “But it’s also just a lot of… waiting. A lot of phone calls, researching, driving, babysitting – and not just babies.”
You chuckled at his sardonic choice of words. “I don’t know how you do it,” you joked. “I’m only okay with the babysitting involved in my job because they’re actual babies.”
“What made you decide to be a preschool teacher?” he asked, his shoulders relaxing a bit. You were distracted for a moment by the way his floral dress shirt pulled taut over his biceps and you swallowed hard.
“Uh – I got my degree in elementary education, and I started out as a kindergarten teacher. I was working in LA, but I had sort of a… rough patch, and needed to start over somewhere else. When the director, Maria, opened New River, she offered me a spot so I could come down to Santo Padre and get my shit back together.” You took a long pull on your drink, trying to swallow down your nerves.
Nestor’s head was tilted to the side curiously and you waited to see if he would inquire further. You let out the breath you didn’t realize you had been holding when he stuck to easy questions.
“How long have you been in Santo Padre?” he asked, tapping his fingers against his beer bottle.
“About two years. You?”
“Most of my adult life. I grew up with Mikey. And then I was in the Navy, moving around a lot. When I got out, Miguel offered me the job and I’ve been here ever since.” He shrugged slightly.
You studied him thoughtfully for a moment, the question you’d been wanting to ask him since you first met him resting on the tip of your tongue. He held your gaze steadily, so you went for it.
“Is it lonely?”
In the brief silence that followed, you wondered again if you had overstepped, if maybe it was too personal of a question. But you also felt strongly that the way Nestor answered would give you some indication as to his intentions with you.
His eyes narrowed on you, his head cocked to the side. “It can be.” He shifted on his barstool, his clothed knee knocking gently against yours, the touch sending electricity directly to your heart. Before you could respond to his statement, he asked, “Are you lonely?”
You were immediately annoyed at yourself for not anticipating that he would turn the question back on you; that was followed by the rush of embarrassment at your answer. Your mind reeled. Should you be honest with him? If you told him about your past, would he feel sorry for you? If you shared how and why you ended up in Santo Padre, would he pity you? You didn’t want that.
But.
You also desperately wanted to trust him. There was something about Nestor that made you feel safe, and while you supposed that was a side effect of his job, his interest in you represented a connection you hadn’t had with another person in years. And that alone pushed you towards the truth.
Your eyes found the bar top as you answered. “Yeah. I am.” You waited nervously for the follow-up questions, but they never came.
Instead, you felt Nestor’s knee knock softly against yours again and you looked up to meet his eyes. “Maybe you don’t have to be anymore,” he offered, leaning to bump his shoulder into yours, making you smile.

hcs for kageyama , ushjima , akaashi and iwaizumi with an s/o who's a really popular libero on their own volleyball team? 🥺👉🏻👈🏻
Tehe I’m writing this from a female perspective- so popular libero on their school’s girls volleyball team~ This has been in the drafts for awhile so thank you for your patience<33!!!!!!
And these get longer w/ every boy idk why
Kageyama, Ushijima, Akaashi, and Iwaizumi w/ a Fem! Popular Libero S/O
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Kageyama
- This awkward baby was shook to the core when you accepted his confession, mainly because you were known to deliver kind rejections after claiming about your devotion to volleyball
- Plus you were really pretty and popular around school, and he’s probs the type to confess just so you can reject him just so he can move on
- Until you said yes like wHAT I didn’t think I’d get this far
- 100% feels bad when practice time overlaps his own, but still does his best to fucking run mildly speed-walk to the girl’s gym after practice just so he can claim he was “on a light jog” to happen to run into you
- “Light jog? You sound like a hyena.” “...Do you want to go home together or not?”
- Comes to all your games when he can, which is often considering the girls either play before or after the boys depending on what school they’re at
- Tanaka and Noya defintely call him a simp when he blushes every time you send a wink his way from on the court, blowing kisses and such just to mess with him
- Finds out about your fanclub of boys the hard way- and blue-eyed baby becomes hella jealous when you offer a sweet wave in thanks for the support
- like what are you doing look at him and him only
- His deadly glare is enough to frighten your fanclub into sitting like they’re in church lmfao
- Feels pride swell in his chest for every point you’re able to salvage for your team, and can’t help but think he’s the luckiest guy in school when you help your team deliver a solid win
- “Wipe that smile off- it’s creepy.” “Tsukishima, I swear-”
- Overall, awkward setter boy is extremely proud yet not super showy about how much he appreciates both you and your talent, and it shows when you go to give him a high-five after the match-
- and he hugs you instead super quickly, mumbling into your shoulder before running off for his match
- “Tobio-?” “It’s not fair. You’re so perfect you have a damn fanclub.” “...I just played a whole ass game and that’s what you want to say to me?”
Ushijima
- Intimidating love met you through walking into the gym off-practice time to see you practicing by your lonesome, working on your digs before his voice makes you jump
- “This is the boy’s gym.” “Sorry! I heard you were uh, off today and I wanted to get away from-”
- Raises a brow when you yelp at the familiar call of “Y/N-chan~? Where are you?”
- literally wtf Wakatoshi just wanted to spike some balls on his off-day, but instead he’s facing a group of six to seven boys in search of you, bored expression on his face as he leans against the door of the entrance
- “Ushijima-san! Have you seen Y/N?” “...No.” as he glances at your obvious gestures of said word, sighing in relief when they leave
- “Are they gone?” “I assume so.”
- blinks once as you bow in thanks before gathering your things, asking you what you were doing before you awkwardly clear your throat
- “I can find another place to practice-” “No. Stay.”
- You find yourself agreeing after gaping at the offer, and eventually surprised when he offers to help you practice
- “W-Won’t your spike like, kill me?” “Only if you let it.” “...Did the Ushijima just make a joke?”
- Surprised at how well he lets his guard down around you, and can’t explain the feeling in his chest when you leave him your number to meet up to practice “only if he wants to”
- Definitely finds himself calling you up on your next off-day, and starts to notice you more and more when the girls play before the guys do, the stark difference in color of jerseys making you stand out to the spiker
- BIG impressed with your performance, and clears his throat when you approach him afterwards giddily, grinning widely as you flex your win
- “All that practice paid off, no?” “...I like you.”
- Remains indifferent as both you and his team all silent at the same time, and you attempt to laugh it off as a joke before you realize he’s not laughing
- “...Wait, really?” “Would it be troublesome if I meant it?” “N-No...!”
- Doesn’t spare a glance to your crying fanclub before leaning down to your height, staring at you dead-on as you turn into a blushing mess when he brushes some hair out of your face before nodding once
- “Good. Then I’ll be taking you out after I win this match.”
- And you can bet your ass he won his match, feelings for you hot on his heels while a similar heat bloomed in your cheeks as your team teased you from the stands
Akaashi
- He had heard of you before, but he certainly wasn’t expecting to meet you in the library, huddled behind an unpopular selection of books upon a bookcase as soon as he rounds the corner, a book on volleball techniques clenched in your hold
- Simply stares when your eyes widen at his form, laughing a tad sheepishly while whispering-
- “This isn’t what it looks like.” “...Well, I sure hope it’s not.”
- Goes to simply grab his book and go before a shout rings throughout the room
- “Y/N-chan!” “sH this is a library!!”
- Sweatdrops when you tug your shirt higher to shield your face, ducking your head down low as your “Rejects of the Beautiful Y/N” fanclub drop their voices to a whisper, but seem to be getting closer
- Next thing you know, the tall stranger is standing in front of you, shielding you from anyone looking into the aisle as you simply blink in surprise, watching as he shrugs his jacket off before dropping it into your lap
- Hums as he reads his book, mumbling a low, “It has a hood.”
- Steps to the side when you awkwardly shove his jacket on, slipping the hood over your head before rushing past him, nodding your head thanks with a light blush on your cheeks as his scent surrounds you
- “Where can I come return this?” “The Volleyball Club after school.”
- So when you make your awkward entry at the instructed time, you blanch when all of the Fukurodani boys seem to still, watching their setter jog up to you and accept his jacket back from you before chaos emerges
- “wHAT AKAASHI’S THE ONE TO DATE Y/N-” “Why are you yelling.”
- Feels the tickle of a smile on his lips as you become flustered, explaining that wasn’t the case before you run away, blush on your features after thanking him again with a bow of your head
- Tightens his grip on the ball in his hand as he watches you jog off, ignoring the barrage of questions from his teammates as the tickle of a smile becomes a full one, hidden behind the setter’s hand at how you lived up to the rumors:
- cute and sweet indeed.
- So imagine your surprise when he pops up at your next game, looking at you with a mild expression when you see him in the stands before he sees the pink hue light up your cheeks
- Already has his jacket off when you meet him after your win, and you shuffle nervously in place as the setter slips the material around your shoulders, ignoring your doe-eyed expression at what was happening
- “You don’t have to return it this time.” “Akaashi Keiji...right?”
- “Hm. Seems like we both know of each other.” As he zips it up, and confirms his feelings for you when you don’t push him away, practically feeling the racing of your heart as the setter silently claims you as his own in front of everyone
- “Shall I take you out to celebrate your win?” “...Out as in like a date?”
- smirks a little at your bewildered expression before leaning back, mild expression making you feel like his eyes were boring into you as pretty setter boy shoves a hand in his jacket pocket, tugging you a little closer
- “It’s no library, but I think we can make do.”
Iwaizumi
- The first time he saw you, it was to watch you play, his fist tightened in the collar of a leaning Oikawa’s shirt over the bar, who was rambling on and on about how perfect you were
- Hardly focused on girls, especially since it seemed like every girl at Seijoh was interested in Oikawa- but as soon as you looked into the stands and locked eyes with him on accident, you both shared a blush at the fact that you had caught the spiker staring
- Can’t explain the thump in his chest when you offer a bright smile from your position on the sidelines before jogging back out onto the court
- “Nope, Iwa-chan, I called dibs.” “You have dibs on every fucking girl in the school.”
- Gets taken off guard at his possessiveness over you
- Notices you a lot more, especially being flirted with as you awkwardly laugh it off while trying to step away in the halls of Aoba Joshai, and it takes a lot of Iwa’s willpower to simply stroll on by in his usual I-only-care-about-volleyball nature
- Until on a certain day, this one bastard got too handsy, and as soon as you let out a surprised squeal when said bastard tugs you into his chest by the waist-
- Iwa has him up against the wall two seconds flat, dark eyes spinning dangerously as a part of him wondered what it was about you to make him act like this
- “Beat it. Don’t touch women like that.”
- He got that respect-women juice
- “Y-You were the one in the stands...” as you put a hand over your mouth at the tumbling of words as a smirk tugs at the ends of Iwa’s lips as he feels pride at the blush on your features
- so you remembered him.
- “What is this- the fourth confession this week?” “You’ve been counting?”
- sweatdrops at his mess up as you erupt into a fit of giggles that had his heart thumping a bit more than usual
- “No. This is a public hallway.” “Mhm. Sure. Mr. I-pin-guys-against-the-walls-in-said-public-hallways.”
- Rolls his eyes at your playful smile, but remains grateful when you seem to relax around him, and your next joke takes him off-guard-
- “What, do you wanna make it five?”
- Finds himself leaning into you, a hand resting on the wall by your side as he eyes you seriously, watching you gulp as a satisfactory grin tugs at his lips
- “What if I said yes?” “I’d say...I don’t even know your name...Iwaizumi?” as you read off his nametag, Iwa leans in a little closer in the empty hallway, watching as you clench your fists and look away in embarrassment
- “It would make all the others leave you alone.” “Hm. Tempting.”
- Smirks when you find stability in your voice, a small smile making its’ way onto your face at how natural it felt with the boy you locked eyes with merely once
- “Then, Iwaizumi, would you like to be number five?”
- “Number one would work better, but eh- five works too.” as he leans a little closer, breath mixing with yours at the proximity as you squeak, shutting your eyes tight as Iwa grins at your cuteness
- “Hm. Not yet, princess. Let’s take it one step at a time.”
- So that’s how the ace grabbed your hand and tugged you along, heart swelled with you wishing he had closed the distance
- “Where are we going?” “Practice. Let’s see how well you can dig up my spikes, Ms. Popularity.”

The Moon Spirit - three
Dorian x reader, Fenrys x reader (throne of glass)
Description: When you’re taught to be a queen from such a young age, nothing could go wrong. But when the king starts to fear your growing power you find yourself thrust into a world of faeries, evil magic and powerful men, learning to stand on your own can be harder than it seems.
warnings: Fenrys being cute, badass reader but like a shit ton of angst, allusions to sexual assualt (Fenrys canon stuff), mentions of weapons? idk if that counts
word count: 4.4k
a/n: so this took a while but it’s finally done, please comment it genuienly keeps me going cause it’s super easy to get unmotivated, hope you enjoy <3
——————————————————————————
After he left you, Fenrys begrudgingly found himself back at the palace, bowed on one knee in front of Maeve. She looked cruelly beautiful as always but there was something more sinister sparkling in her eyes today, remaining quiet as he stood back to his full height, meeting her gaze with wavering confidence.
“Who have you been with?” she finally broke the silence and he cursed himself for thinking he could ever get away with that.
“I just walked a young girl home, she was new, and I was afraid someone may take advantage of her if she was alone,” he spoke truthfully, allowing Maeve to push into his mind as she searched for a hidden lie.
He watched as she drew in a sharp breath, something like fear flickering across her face before her tightly drawn lips spread into a wide smile.
“Come here,” she commanded, and he went to stand in front of her, close enough to smell her sickening perfume and to see the flawless texture of her skin. “Do you love this girl?”
He shook his head, no, and she ran a hand down his face in a motherlike way. “Good, you will be recruiting her.” His eyes widened and he had to put his energy into not flinching away.
“What?” he spoke with an incredulous tone and Maeve glared at his lack of respect making him bow his head. “Sorry your majesty, I’m just slightly confused. She was just a young girl and didn’t seem to have any former training.”
“And that’s why I’m in charge, you men are too foolish. That was a powerful girl, and I would rather she remained on my side than any other.” He frowned, powerful? She had seemed kind, lost and strong enough to hold her own – but not powerful.
“I need you to see her again, convince her to join.” Fenrys physically felt the command go through him and he stood taller again, nodding gruffly as she waved her hand in dismissal.
--
Your first few days of work had been harder than expected, and you had gone home with aching muscles from lifting books and sore cheeks from plastering on smiles. Albert had made your days easier, drinking hot tea with you as you slowly revealed more and more about your past to him, his kind, old eyes lulling you into a comforting state.
But you didn’t receive rest when you got home. Ploughing through books on spirits and practicing using the limited magic you had found until the early hours of the morning, getting barely two hours of sleep a night unplagued by nightmares. By your fifth day Albert had handed you a pot of cosmetic product to hide the circles forming, commenting on scaring the customers away as you stuck your tongue out at him but smearing some on regardless.
On the second Saturday after your arrival you had a day off and used it to venture into the market, your empty shelves no longer sustaining you, let alone Amaris. Your basket soon filled with colourful fruits and vegetables, and you were browsing the fish section when a shadow fell over you.
“Let me take that for you,” you turned to see Fenrys standing over you with that same easy smile, his head tilted slightly. You rolled your eyes, trying to block out the feelings expanding in your chest at just the sight of him.
“And here I thought I had lost you,” you muttered, and he laughed, taking your basket from you, and paying for the wrapped salmon you had just been passed. “You don’t need to do stuff like that,” you told him, and he took your arm as he led you out of the market.
“Can’t help myself, I see a pretty girl in need and boom, I have to help.” He joked and you laughed lightly.
“Oh yeah, the damsel in distress disease, I’ve heard that’s a nasty one to cure,” he smiled down at you with a sparkle in his eyes.
“Not really, all I need is a kiss,” he tugged you closer and you squealed, shoving him away as he laughed.
“As I said, nasty.” He dramatically put a hand to his heart, throwing his head back in distress.
“You wound me darling,” he complained, and you laughed, hating how much you genuinely enjoyed his company. You reached your apartment in no time, and he stood at the bottom of the steps leading up to your door.
“So no invitation of tea, a glass of wine, a home cooked meal?” he asked, and you rolled your eyes,
“I’m afraid I reserve that for people I like,” he raised his eyebrows, hopping up the steps two at a time.
“Even if I have genuine cause to talk to you?” he asked and the sincerity in his eyes made a shot of fear run through you. He couldn’t know, could he?
“What is it?” you asked, and he smiled softly, a little pain shining through his loving eyes.
“The queen has a proposition to make.” His voice quietened and you straightened your posture, your entire demeanour switching in a second.
“Come in.” you opened the door and stepped in, allowing him to duck as he followed.
The first thing he noticed was how barren your apartment was, a simple kitchen, connected to a room with a pale blue sofa and worn coffee table. Your shelves were bare, and he sneaked a look into your room as he passed the open door, your mattress on the floor covered by only a thin blanket and a few cushions, one incredibly expensive looking gold dress on the floor, stained dark red. But before he could venture further in he heard you cooing in an impossibly soft voice.
He turned the corner and blanched at the sight he saw, “What the?”
You turned from were you were feeding small bits of salmon to a pure white bundle of fluff that hissed as soon as it saw him. “Amaris, be polite!” you scalded, and he surveyed the cat with a wary look, untrusting of the small creature.
“You have a cat.” He stated, suddenly completely unsure of his taste in women.
“No he’s actually a spider,” you deadpanned and Fenrys pouted.
“But I thought you’d be a dog person,” he complained, and you laughed, moving to throw open the curtains in the room before you started putting away the food you had bought, boiling a pot of water over your stove.
“I just like animals, why does it matter?” you asked, and he threw his arms up before transforming into his wolf form. You gasped and Amaris meowed loudly, scampering to hide behind your legs.
“You’re a wolf.” You stated and he turned back with a smile.
“No I’m a spider,” you flipped him off as you turned to put the rest of your food away.
“I prefer you as a wolf, they’re one of my favourite animals,” you told him and he smiled, sticking his tongue out childishly at Amaris who just sauntered of to doze on a pillow.
“So, what does the queen want?” you asked, pouring the hot water into a pot you had prepared, and he sat down on your worn-down sofa, cringing as it creaked under his weight. You followed suit soon after putting the pot and two mugs down, curling your feet underneath yourself as you looked at him.
“Well, she has told me that you’re actually extremely powerful and because of this she wants to recruit you. She wants you to join the Cadre.” He spoke surely and confidently but his eyes shone with wariness.
“Okay first of all, I’m not at all powerful, secondly how would she even know if I was, which I’m not! And third, what is The Cadre?” he laughed slightly and moved forward to pour himself a cup of tea.
“Well you clearly are because she recognised you and always knows these things, trust me. She’s never wrong about this. And The Cadre is a group I’m in, elite soldiers sworn to protect Maeve.” He explained and you shook your head.
“Fenrys I barely know basic self-defence, I’m not a soldier. And I don’t want to be sworn to royalty.” Your hands were shaking slightly at the thought of being sworn to another tyrant, “Plus in all honesty I only found out I was Fae on Monday, so I’m not exactly well versed in this shit.”
“How did you not know before?” he asked – frowning.
“The country I… come from, there was no magic. The king wiped all magic out years ago.”
“Why?” It was an understandable question but still made you panic, he couldn’t know.
“I don’t know, all I know is he did, so those alike me – with magic but born into a magicless world – never got to know.” You were good at concealing emotions, that much Fenrys could see. You seemed to have iron walls built into the clouds around your heart, protecting it as fiercely as you would Amaris.
“Well, Maeve wants to meet with you soon, so let me know when you decide gorgeous,” he stood, and you smiled at him gratefully for not prying further.
“I’m really sorry Fenrys I just don’t think it’s a good idea. As I said I’m not a soldier.” He nodded but his eyes still conveyed a sense of worry.
“Well keep in mind you would get to train with me, probably shirtless.” He joked as you opened the door for him, grinning when you laughed loudly, shoving him through the door.
“Bye Fenrys,” you said, eyes sparkling as he waved, whistling his way down the street comically.
You closed the door as your smile fell, a weight settling on your chest as you already knew why he looked so wary – Kings and Queens didn’t understand the word no.
--
You practically ran to the library the next day, opting to bring Amaris with you as he peeked out of the small handbag you had found stuffed into the back of your closet. When you flew into the library you instantly sought out Albert, who took one look at your flushed, shining appearance and abandoned the pile of books he was putting away, motioning for you to sit down.
You sat quickly, huffing out a breath as Amaris crawled out of his makeshift home and started exploring the new territory of the small backroom reserved for staff only.
“What bothers you child?” Albert’s voice was steady as always and his dry, warm hands grasped yours gently as your eyes filled with unshed tears.
“I just – I needed to talk to someone,” you stuttered out, your breath coming in harsher pants as he shushed you.
“Take a minute and allow yourself to breathe first dear,” he commanded, and you pressed a hand to your heart as you tried to slow its pounding. “Start from the beginning, tell me what’s wrong.”
“The man I loved, his- his name was Dorian, Dorian Havilliard.” You said quietly and Albert let out a small chuckle.
“I presumed as much, I visited Adarlan once, and an old man never forgets the face of a princess.” You looked at him through blurry eyes, confused.
“You knew?” he smiled sadly at you.
“I was 90% certain, but I would never have pressured you to reveal secrets like that.” He passed you a tissue, “But I sense that’s not all that weighs heavy on you?”
You shook your head, “Queen Maeve has made clear that she wishes me to join the Cadre.”
Albert’s face changed with the clear shock, and you bowed your head, shamefully.
“And what did you say?” he asked slowly.
“No, of course! I don’t have any desire to be another monarch’s puppet.” You stated and he shushed you again.
“You need to remember that people always listen.” He scolded, repeating one of the first things he had told you when you started working. “I agree that you should be cautious, but perhaps gaining the queens protection would be beneficial. Plus you would become an extremely skilled swordsman.”
“I am not a man, nor do I wish to be.” You said through gritted teeth, “And I vowed that I would become skilled on my own and go back to Dorian.”
“Yes but if you join, you will be more skilled than ever before,” Albert reasoned and you shook your head, tears welling up again.
“I thought you’d be on my side for this, you are the one who told me to be careful around powerful people.” You felt unjustly betrayed as he spoke and his shoulders slumped slightly, sighing before grasping your hands lightly again.
“I am dear, and I urge you to do what you think is best. But I am simply reminding you that if you truly want to beat this king you are being offered power on a silver platter right now, and perhaps it would be foolish to deny yourself it.” You let his words run around your head as you worked overtime trying to figure out a plan.
“Say I joined – what do I need to do to ensure I don’t become another puppet?” you asked, and he smiled at you.
“First of all, she will offer a blood oath and you must refuse it with everything you have in you – she came to you remember you hold the power. On that note you must summon all those queenly powers of yours and ensure when you speak to her, she is meeting you and she is trying to win you over. Never the other way around.” You nodded, pocketing the information in your head. “When in the palace you are always being watched, always being listened to, so keep your wits about you. But I’m sure you’re used to that by now.”
You laughed under your breath, “It’ll be just like going home,” you commented, and he smiled.
“Sadly yes, now take this money. Go but a new dress and tomorrow you will take a carriage, you can’t walk there.” You thanked him softly, placing the gold in the purse you held, “You’re a kind girl, that is what makes you strong and that’s what will make you a good queen. Don’t let them take your heart.”
Your throat tightened and you nodded due to the lack of trust you held for your voice, standing, and collecting your bag in one hand and Amaris in the other. Albert stood to take you to the door with a smile, and a gentle pat on the shoulder.
“You can have tomorrow off work as well, however I feel our work together is already coming to an end.” You smiled softly, allowing him to pet Amaris’ head softly before he kissed your cheek gently, ushering you out the door.
“Have a good night Albert,” you said, turning to see him watching you with sorrowful eyes.
“Remember what I told you dear, don’t let them take your heart.” Your smile was sad as you spoke,
“I won’t.” You both heard the lie but, neither of you decided to correct it. Not tonight.
--
Of all the things Fenrys expected to see the next morning, you were the one he hoped for. But as he looked around at the powerful men surrounding the room he felt white-hot panic seize him as he realised what you were about to do. You hadn’t even looked at him when you walked in, keeping your eyes trained solely on Maeve, not even dropping them as you dropped in a low curtsy.
He was even more shocked by the blood red dress you adorned, the v-neck deep and skirts long with a slit up either leg, high enough to reveal the halter you wore with a silver dagger and a ruby encrusted hilt secured into place. Every man, woman and mouse watched as you walked through the room – head high and shoulders back, revealing enough to entrance everyone in the room but covering enough to keep them wanting more and he felt his anger grow as he watched you.
You waited with a soft, but condescending, smile on your face, allowing Maeve to regrasp some power by speaking first – every movement so calculated and precise. As he watched you he saw the power and understood the fear and lust building in the room.
“So I guess you heard my offer.” Maeve finally said, drawling low with relaxed posture.
“I did.” Your statement was short, to the point but you saw it grate Maeve’s nerves and smiled as sweet as spun sugar, “Your majesty.”
“And?” he watched as Maeve grew more agitated and was surprised she hadn’t killed you yet, usually not standing for even an ounce of insubordination.
“I am willing to accept on one condition – I’m not taking a blood oath.” He had to fight jumping in the air with glee as you spoke, so afraid you were going to get tangled in the mess he was in. Maeve’s face grew dark, but you held your ground, never letting your eyes stray lest she see your weakness.
“Well that’s simply not viable,” she stated, glaring you into the ground but you just smiled again, nodding with a polite laugh.
“I see, well this was a lovely meeting, gentlemen.” You raised your hand politely as you moved to leave, your eyes finally flittering over him and the rest of the cadre. You bowed once again to Maeve, making to leave when Maeve raised her hand.
“We are not finished.” She stated.
“Well I’m terribly sorry your majesty but I’ve made my terms extremely clear, and since you refuse to budge - I believe we are done.” Your voice was still sweet, but he watched your face change slightly, every bit a queen looking down upon her people. He couldn’t help but wonder were you learned to speak this way, but Maeve simply laughed.
“Yet here you are,” she spoke with a mocking tone, and you smiled with your teeth this time.
“Need I remind you that you sought me out, if I have terms it should be in your best interest to meet them if you wish me to join your miniature army.” Fenrys heard Lorcan snarl lowly next to him but gripped his arm in warning.
“Oh your training is impressive princess, but I’m afraid it will be of no use.” Your face didn’t budge as Maeve spoke, but Fenrys watched as something flickered through your eyes, “You see, I learn of misdemeanours in other courts very easily and I wish to show you what I learned of Adarlan.”
“There’s nothing you could show me that I won’t have seen before,” you said, and he watched the two of you laugh like you were mingling at a party instead of standing of in a court.
“Oh I’m afraid this is relatively new, you might reconsider your terms after this,” you stood straight as Maeve walked down the steps and moved to whisper something the rest of them couldn’t hear in your ear, her hand pressed lightly to the base of your neck.
She pulled away after a few minutes and he took in your now shaking hands, eyes filled with tears you clearly refused to let fall. You took in a steadying breath before speaking, “You’re lying.”
“Oh I wish I was princess, but I can only show the truth and it appears your prince had moved on rather quickly, what use is there going back to a country where you can no longer rule.” She stroked your hair condescendingly and you chewed the inside of your lip as it quivered. “But here, here – under my control – you have power of your own. Men will no longer hold onto you like a prized pony, you will become something they fear, you will be my perfect princess, the daughter I never got to have.”
Fenrys inhaled sharply, he knew Maeve never planned to relent the throne, especially not to a woman from another country. She looked at you like you were a doll, something for her to reshape and change. You must have seen it to, but through your blurry eyes everything had changed.
“Okay,” your voice was smaller than before, and he wanted to tear Maeve limb from limb for having broken you down so harshly with just a few words. She smiled cruelly at you as she cut a small line along her forearm and you bowed your head in pain, before falling to your knees – graceful even as pain consumed your entire being. You brought your lips to her wound and drank as she repeated the words that he remembered all too well.
When you rose your lips were sparkling red, and your eyes were glistening with tears still unshed – but you raised your head like a queen and Maeve smiled.
“I believe you have already met Fenrys, he will be training you as the training you have received is not proficient, I’ll have all your belongings brought to a room here.” Maeve waved her hand to some guards, but you stopped her.
“I only need Amaris brought here; the rest can burn.” You muttered.
“And for your new wardrobe?” She asked and you smiled looking down, wiping your mouth slowly.
“Make it red.” You finally met Fenrys eyes, and he stepped forward, desperate to drag you far, far away.
“Shall I escort her to her new room?” he asked Maeve and she flitted her eyes to him, then to the hand he had pressed to your back.
“Yes and then afterword’s come find me,” she smiled cruelly at him, and he felt you stiffen under his hand, but he just nodded and began to lead you out of the room.
He led you through the corridors and up the stairs in silence, angry at you for accepting and at himself for not putting up more of a fight. When he reached the room he presumed would be yours he opened the door for you, following you in as you sat on the bed, your usual lightness replaced by the weight on your shoulders.
He watched you bow your head and came to sit beside you, “I’m sorry.”
“You don’t have to apologise; this was my choice.” You said and he reached an arm around your shoulders, but you quickly shrugged him off.
“I shouldn’t, we shouldn’t, if you and the queen are…” you trailed off and Fenrys bowed his head in shame.
“It’s not like that, she, she makes me,” he muttered, and you inhaled sharply, turning to him with those watery eyes.
“I had no idea, I’m sorry,” you whispered, instantly looping your arms around him neck and holding him tight. “She’s a monster.”
Fenrys huffed a laugh, pulling away, “You’re telling me.”
He reached a hand for your face slowly, wiping under your eyes where a tear had escaped, “how did she change your mind?” he asked, dark eyes searching your face for clues as your bottom lip quivered in pain.
“She showed me home,” was all you said, and his shoulders dropped. He would leave it for now, you were young and clearly not ready to speak – and now, they had all the time in the world to speak.
“Sleep tight, training starts at seven tomorrow,” he stood and kissed your head lightly and you nodded, words getting caught in your throat. He left quietly, walking away as quickly as he could to avoid hearing the soft sobs that erupted as soon as he closed the door.
--
You could barely contain your tears until you got to your room, repeating rule thirteen over and over in your head, crying in public is only appropriate at funerals and weddings. But as soon as Fenrys left your room you sobbed into your hands, wailing, and crying like a child throwing a tantrum as you let out the emotions, the screams that have been locked inside of you for so long.
You had done everything for Dorian, changed every part of yourself and become the perfect princess, girlfriend, fiancé – and he, mere weeks after you had to run, was already moving onto a new girl.
As hard as you tried you couldn’t get rid of the image of him and the blonde girl out of your head. How he kissed her softly, his hand on her lower back where it always used to rest on yours. The smile when he pulled away, the way he laughed with her, the way Chaol smiled at his brother when he was happy. You had been forgotten, replaced, almost instantly, the warmth you used to feel when you thought of home, of your princes’ arms replaced by a tight chest and a cold feeling encompassing your heart.
“I’m sorry Albert,” you whispered into the air as you stood looking out on your balcony, gripping tightly to the rail as you feared your legs would give out, “She already took it.”
You were interrupted by a quiet knock on your door, wiping your eyes as you opened it – taking Amaris from the tall guards’ hands as a flurry of women pushed in, filling your drawers with clothes and cosmetics, candles and hair pins, books and plants, a million supplies for Amaris and then some. You smiled politely at them as they left without saying a word, in and out extremely quickly as you stared at a knot in the floor.
Another knock sounded soon after and you turned your head to see one of the Cadre staring in with piercing green eyes. You motioned for him to come in and stood, tilting your head up to meet his gaze as he took in your messy, tear-stained expression.
“You’re the first female member of the Cadre, ever.” He stated and you blinked slowly.
“Lucky me,” your tone was sarcastic, voice rough from the crying but the man smiled.
“I’m Rowan, it’s good to meet you.” He reached out a hand and you met it, allowing him to kiss the back gently.
“(Y/n)” you returned, with a slight curtsey.
“I look forward to fighting with you (y/n),” he stated, releasing your hand and turning to leave, stopping right before he reached the door, “Oh, and don’t lose that dagger, you’ll find a shocking number of men dislike powerful women.”
“First I’m hearing of this,” you deadpanned, and he chuckled.
“Goodluck kid.”

“my ex is here make out with me” PLSSS
YES
dalton doesn’t get jealous. not about this ex at least.
that being said, he isn’t jealous that his ex boyfriend moved on and brought a date to this party. he’s the one who broke it off after all. he’s just annoyed that he himself didn’t bring a date and now looks stupid all alone. he has no idea where jenna went.
dalton sidesteps two people to find an exit, except when he looks up he sees his ex coming his way.
“fuck,” he mumbles.
distraction. need a distraction.
dalton almost trips over someone’s foot trying to flee and finds himself closer than typically acceptable to a guy in the hallway. with wavy dark hair and brown eyes. cute.
dalton glances away. ex still coming his way. he looks back, missing the nod his ex tries to throw him, and puts his hand on the strangers chest. he’s looking at dalton expectantly.
“are you single?”
the guy smiles. “no,” he tilts his head to the guy at his side. “but he is.”
dalton looks his way as his friend nudges his arm to get his attention. dalton pushes off of brown eyes and stands in front of the one with jet black hair and bored green eyes.
and a chess piece tattooed to his cheekbone.
he’s hot as hell.
“are you attracted to guys?” dalton asks.
it makes the stranger frown, and dalton almost backs off until he says, “um, i’m bisexual.”
okay, good, perfect. “and you’re single?”
“yes?”
“okay, i need you to make out with me because my ex is trying to come talk to me.” he raises his eyebrows when the guy looks a little confused. “i’m one hundred percent serious. right now.”
“oh- okay.” the stranger springs into action just as carter is five feet away and takes dalton in with a hand in his collar. dalton kisses back for a few seconds, long enough to deem acceptable. he pulls away and he means to check to see that his ex has given up, but he just kind of freezes and stares at the strangers lips.
“i’m kevin,” he says in dalton’s ear.
dalton looks up at his face, meets his eyes. “dalton,” he mumbles. kevin glances down at his mouth, subtly licks his bottom lip, and meets dalton in the middle again.
dalton’s almost against the wall already, so he backs himself up against it and wraps his arm around kevin’s neck so that he can slip his hands onto dalton’s hips.
dalton wastes no time slipping his tongue into kevin’s mouth. he slides a hand into kevin’s hair.
nicky shouts over the blaring music and lifts his drink in the air. “get it!” he stumbles out into the living room laughing at the turn of events.
it gets dan’s attention enough for her to peer down the hall. she coughs on her drink when she sees kevin aggressively making out with a guy against the wall. she pulls matt’s arm and smacks him in the stomach. “look. matt- matt! kevin, look, look at kevin!”
matt sticks his head into the hallway and lets out a laugh when he sees him. “holy shit!” he turns to allison, who has already taken a picture. “do we think he’ll go home with him?”
allison scoffs. there are other people in the hallway, the whole house is crowded, but kevin seems to have no shame. “kid hasn’t gotten laid since thea. he needs it.”
dan shakes her head. she wonders if it’s obvious they’re staring at him. “i don’t think he’s a one night stand kind of guy.”
“fifty bucks?” matt holds his hand out. it takes her a second, but dan eventually rolls her eyes and shakes.
kevin pulls away and presses his thumbs into dalton’s hips. dalton speaks up before he can offer. “wanna get out of here?”
kevin nods. dalton takes him by the hands and leads him winding through the hall, then the kitchen, and finally to the living room where the front door is
kevin doesn’t pay any mind to his friends as he leaves, but matt jumps and low fives allison, then picks up dan for a second. “we haven’t even been here for an hour and he’s getting lucky!” he cackles.
kevin leads dalton to his car. “i’m sober, i can drive.” dalton nods. he’s not drunk either, but going to kevin’s place gives him the option to leave whenever instead of having to kick someone out.
“wait,” dalton smiles, and pushes kevin up against the hood of the car. he grabs his face and kisses him again.
nicky comes running into the house through the front door. he smells a little like weed. “i just saw kevin get in a car with the guy!”
“we know!” matt, dan and allison all say at once.
when they get back to kevin’s dorm dalton notices it’s the athletes dorm, meaning kevin’s definitely fit, and that none of his roommates are there.
he lets kevin kiss him into the mattress and take control, and tilts his head back when kevin trails down his throat and sneaks a hand to his waistband.
dalton hasn’t woken up naked in a strangers bed in quite a while, he’ll just say that.
kevin, due to dalton’s alarm, wakes up the same time he does. he thankfully doesn’t question dalton’s arm around him and sits up.
“i’ve gotta get to class,” he rasps.
kevin nods, rubs his eyes, and swings his legs out of bed. dalton’s shirt smells like whatever drink he spilled on himself in the beginning of the night, so kevin gives him an old exy shirt he hasn’t worn in years.
of course, andrew, neil and nicky are all sitting on the couch when kevin walks dalton to the door. he tries ignoring them and steps into the hallway with the door shut. “do you need a ride?”
dalton pushes a hand through his hair. “nah, my place isn’t far.” kevin raises his eyebrows. “i’m serious. plus, it’s been a while since i’ve done the walk of shame.” he shrugs. “um… i can give you my number? in case you ever wanna do something sometime…” he scratches his scruff.
it takes a second for the light to go off in kevin’s head. “oh- yeah, yeah.” he frantically searches his pockets. dalton smiles a little bit, then bites his lip to hide it. he enters his phone number into kevin’s contacts and hands it back when he’s done.
“don’t be a stranger,” he says. “you’re really cute.” ew. was that cringey? his heart is beating so fast. he’s so bad at flirting.
but it makes kevin quirk a smile. he ducks down in a fit of confidence and kisses dalton, small and quick. “i won’t,” he says.
after dalton’s out of sight, kevin goes back inside the room. nicky jumps up from the couch and props himself against the kitchenette counter. “you got his number, right?” kevin shoots him a look. “he’s a total twelve out of ten, kevin! and he liked you enough to come here to have sex with you!”
“stop.” kevin drops his phone onto the table and goes right to the bathroom to shower. nicky grabs his phone where it’s open on a new contact.
dalton miller.
neil watches nicky grin and stick his fist up in the air in victory. “you are way scarily invested in all of our sex lives.”

[AO3]
“Why do you even have that?”
Sasha looks up from her laptop to give Jon a quizzical look. They’ve been deep in a research hole for hours now, Jon with his files spread out before him like a buffet and Sasha picking her way through line after line of code to access things that she really shouldn’t be able to access - although, the government should have better security if it didn’t want to get hacked so she tried not to feel too badly about it. Jon’s not looking at his files now though, his gaze appears to be drawn to her shoe-box sized kitchen.
“Why do I have what?” She asks, “A kitchen?”
“No, the--” He flicks his fingers in a vague gesture to the counter, and his eyebrows pull together in a fetching little wrinkle that Sasha desperately wants to smooth away with her thumb, “the absolutely massive thing you have taking up half your kitchen.”
“Oh!” Sasha says, and then starts to laugh.
The stand mixer is large, honestly, too big to store in the meagre storage space of her cabinets and taking up half the countertop next to the stove. It’s also a garish bright red, loud against the backdrop of beige walls and a white lino countertop. She wonders why on earth Jon’s bringing this up now, they’ve been working for hours now and this certainly isn’t the first time he’s visited her flat, and decides the answer to simply be that ‘it’s Jon, he’s probably just never noticed.’
He’s fully scowling at her now, in a way she knows is defensive. He probably thinks she’s making fun of him. He can be so sensitive. “Sorry,” She says when she stops laughing long enough to speak, “I think you just caught me off guard. It was cute.”
“Cute?” Jon starts to sputter, the tips of his ears darkening and his nose wrinkling.
He is cute, Sasha thinks.
She waves it off. “It was a wedding present. That’s one of the big ones, I think, for most people. First thing I added to the registry.”
Jon couldn’t look more blind-sided if he’d been hit by a lorry. He even drops his pen, staring at her with wide eyes. “You’re married?”
Sasha snorts. “Don’t be daft. Does it look like I’m living with someone?”
Jon looks around anyway like he’s looking for evidence. “Divorced?”
“Nope.” She says, popping the ‘p’ with extra emphasis and grinning at the helpless confusion radiating from her friend.
“Then--” Jon trails off. He looks at the stand mixer again, like maybe it holds the answers he’s seeking. He looks back at her, and then down at his files. Suddenly his head jerks up and he says, “Wait, have you ever even been engaged?” He says this so seriously it tugs at Sasha’s heart. His eyes narrow like he’s caught her in some kind of trap, as though that wasn’t what she was expecting.
Sasha grins. “No.”
Jon looks at her incredulously, like he’s fitting together a bunch of puzzle pieces in his mind. It’s fun. Jon is so fun. “Sasha, did you fake an engagement just to get a stand mixer?”
“Yes!” Sasha slams her laptop shut and points at Jon, “But do not tell my great aunt that, do you understand? It took me years of work to get that stand mixer, Jon!”
Jon stares at her silently for just a moment, absolutely bewildered, before he dissolves into laughter, curling in on himself and digging his fingers into his sides. It shakes his shoulders and Sasha swears there’s tears in his eyes and before she knows it she’s laughing too, hard enough it hurts her chest and blurs her vision. To an outside viewer they must look positively loony. It takes ages for them to stop and gather themselves back together. Jon takes off his glasses to wipe tears away from his eyes while Sasha rubs at her face and tries to stop the giggles that keep bubbling up when she looks at Jon.
“God,” Jon says at last, “I haven’t laughed like that in--” he clears his throat, “anyway.”
“Yes,” Sasha agrees, “anyway.”
She looks at the clock and is both shocked and completely unsurprised that it’s after midnight.
Jon must follow her gaze because she hears him utter a quiet, “good lord.”
She’s dangerously close to laughing again.
Jon starts to shuffle his files away back into their folders. “Later than I thought.” He says.
Sasha hums in agreement, putting her laptop away and sorting her notes into neat piles. “No use trying to get home this late, you might as well just stay the night.”
“Ah,” Jon’s nose does that cute wrinkle thing again, and Sasha’s lips twitch, “that’s quite alright. I’m sure I can just find a cab.”
“Could do,” Sasha agrees, “but it’d be easier if you stayed. I’ve got an extra toothbrush and everything. Plus, tomorrow is Saturday so it’s not like we have to rush back to work or anything.”
Jon’s got all his things put back in his messenger bag, a solid olive green canvas affair that Sasha privately thinks is dreadful looking. “Wouldn’t want to spoil your weekend. I’m sure you have plans.” He’s stalling, looking for a reason not to go. Sasha wishes he’d just tell her what he wants.
She smiles, because Jon isn’t easy but she knows him and she likes him anyway, “Well, I was going to put that stand mixer to work and make myself some bread. But other than that--” She shrugs.
Jon’s eyes go once more to that bright red piece of kitchen equipment. “You make your own bread?”
“Sure. It’s cheaper and it tastes better.”
Jon makes a thoughtful noise. “Well, I suppose… that is, if it’s not too much trouble.”
“Lovely,” Sasha beams, and then adds slyly, “I’ve even got some of Tim’s things you can sleep in.”
Jon goes properly red at that and buries his face in his hands with a groan.
-
Sasha busies herself with getting her ingredients together while Jon wakes up. Before they’d become friends she’d always just kind of assumed he’d be a morning person. He had that air about him at work, sharp and alert even when she was still trying to get her head on. The truth is that while Jon has difficulties getting to sleep, he would happily sleep until mid-afternoon if she let him, so she makes sure to wake him at a decent hour and then goes back to check and make sure he hasn’t fallen back asleep. Since her flat is basically a glorified closet, and Jon sleeps on the sofa, this is not a hard task to keep an eye on.
It takes a good twenty minutes before Jon comes and sits himself down at what she generously calls a kitchen table. His hair hangs in curls around his shoulders and he impatiently pushes a hand through it where it covers his face. He’s still sleepy-eyed, the sleeves of Tim’s jumper she’d let him borrow pooling around his hands.
“Good morning.” She says with amusement.
He grunts, flopping into a rickety chair. “Coffee?” He asks.
“All out. Tea alright?”
He nods.
“Great. Kettle is over there.” She gestures vaguely to the area next to the fridge, “Tea is top cabinet.”
Jon sighs, like it’s a great effort for him to make his own tea, but offers no further complaint as he retrieves the kettle and fills it with water.
With Jon out of the way Sasha appropriates the table for more space to set out her scale and bowls. She won’t need anything too fancy today so it doesn’t take long to get set up. She hears the kettle and turns around just in time to see Jon half-way climbing onto the counter. “Jon!” She scolds, similar to the way she would her cat when she was a child.
He freezes and gives her a sheepish grin. “You said top cabinet.”
She did, and she hadn’t thought about the almost foot of height she had on Jon. She snorts and waves him down. “Grab the mugs, I’ll get the tea then.”
He grumbles something about doing it himself but obliges, plucking two mugs from the drying rack.
“Green tea alright?”
Jon makes a dismissive noise. “Black?”
“Out.”
“I’m taking you shopping after this, Sasha James, this is downright unacceptable.”
“Yeah, sure.”
She hands him the box of tea bags and he rolls his eyes at her, muttering as he fills their mugs with water.
“Do you at least have milk?”
“Yes.”
“Thank god.”
Sasha rolls her eyes and gets back to her scale, weighing out her dry ingredients.
“Why are you doing it like that?”
“By weight?”
Jon hums.
“It’s more accurate by weight than by volume, typically.”
“You can’t just, I don’t know, eye-ball it?”
“Jonathan Sims have you ever baked anything in your entire life?”
She takes the jerky shrug he gives in response as a no. She shakes her head and dumps her flour and yeast into the mixing bowl of her stand mixer. Jon hovers there at her shoulder, watching, so close she can almost feel his breath.
It gives her a wicked idea.
She reaches a hand up, like she’s checking something, and then flicks the mixer on high.
Flour explodes from the mixing bowl in a cloud of white, covering her and Jon and the countertop.
The little shriek Jon gives will stay with her for a very long time.
“Why?” He asks, mouth agape and positively covered in flour.
“Because I knew it would be funny.” Sasha says, laughing. There’s flour in her hair, and she’ll definitely need to wash her clothes, but the look in Jon’s wide eyes and the slowly blooming smile on his face is worth it.
It takes less time than she thinks to get everything clean again, and the second time she even allows Jon to help her measure ingredients and start the mixer. He’s very serious about the whole thing, watching the scale with a grim kind of determination like it would mean death if he added just a bit too much yeast to the dough, but it’s the most fun Sasha’s had in forever. By the end of the day she has enough bread to wrap a loaf up for Jon to take home, and he looks at her like she’s just given him the greatest gift he’s ever received.
“Same time next week?” She asks as she wraps his scarf around his neck.
“I suppose.” He says, ducking his head to avoid the kiss she tries to plant on his cheek. “If you’re amenable.”
“I’m amenable.” She says, and kisses the top of his head anyway.
Sasha watches him leave and Jon turns back at the end of the hallway to wave, before disappearing into the stairwell. She laughs, bright and happy, and closes the door.

I know you said you only might accept pregnancy requests depending on what it is so I wanted to try 😅 how about shigaraki and reader break up while she’s unknowingly pregnant with his child and he bumps into said child years later and connects the dots that it’s his? If you don’t like it feel free to ignore this request 😊
I liked this nonnie.
I am terrified that by saying that I’m going to be inundated with pregnancy HC’s, lol. But, this request I really leaned into. Plus, it’s more about a kid than a pregnancy.
So, thank you for asking and letting me slip out of my comfort zone. It’s always good to do that every once in awhile and this ask was a great reminder of that.
It’s a bit melancholic, but I think it fits with Tomura, at least, in my mind.
Now, this is not in canon. This is not like, pre-war arc, or post-war arc. If anything, it’s more of an AU. I’d put Tomura in his late 20s to early 30s.
warnings: none really, just some sweet, sweet interactions and mild angst
Tumblr media
Hestia Hestia, in Greek religion, is the goddess of the hearth, a daughter of Cronus and Rhea, and one of the 12 Olympian deities. When the gods Apollo and Poseidon became suitors for her hand, she swore to remain a maiden forever, and Zeus, the king of the gods, bestowed upon her the honor of presiding over all sacrifices.
Tumblr media
The shouting noise of children set his teeth on edge.
Toga had insisted that the bus stop by the school was the best place for the information exchange.
They won’t look for you there, she’d assured him. It’s like hiding in plain sight. Yeah, it’s patrolled, but it’s only an old security guard who does the rounds. Besides, he’s retired from the police force, she qualified, and was more like a lazy cat than an attentive scent hound.
It’s the best place, really.
So, Shigaraki had made the long trek across Tokyo.
He kept to the shadows as he weaved his way through back alleys and streets. Although the dominance of the League had waned some over the years, he was still a wanted criminal, responsible for countless death and threats on hero society.
He was still the King of his slice of the underworld.
Besides, he reassured himself as he loitered by the bench under the bus stop, he could trust Toga.
She had improved in leaps and bounds as she came of age; deadlier, sleeker, more attuned to the ebbs and flows of the world around her. She wasn’t that girl who chattered about blood anymore.
Oh, she still held a strange fascination with the fluid. But she had more control over those impulses that drove her. If she said it was the best place, well, who was he to argue? Toga had been with him from the beginning, a vital ally. Hell, at this point she was close to being a friend.
Shigaraki is still musing when the ball taps its way to his feet.
It clatters against the pavement; the rubber shuttling it along the loose rocks and leaves. Unthinkingly, Shigaraki lifts his shoe to balance against its unbound movement, stilling its lulling bounces.
Must be from that schoolyard, he thinks, his red eyes flashing up at the low chain-link fence that separates the school grounds from the busy street.
There’s no child dashing their way to retrieve it, so he lets his gaze slip from the teeming masses of giggling youngsters. It’s a pretty blue. The ball looks new. Hardly a scuffed and battered thing.
He keeps it under his sole, toying with it, rolling it meditatively as he slips back into his thoughts.
“Hey! That’s mine!”
It’s a small voice that calls to him and he turns his head back to the fence, looking for the source.
It’s a girl.
She’s leaning against the metal, her hands clutching into the links, cocking her head inquisitively at him.
Her nose wrinkles at his silence, and she shouts another demand.
“Mister, that’s my ball. Toss it back.”
“Aren’t you supposed to say please?” Shigaraki taunts, his lips lifting in a quick grin. He’s not sure why he’s bothering to engage with this kid, but something about her plucky attitude resonates with him.
She leans away from the fence, that scowl deepening on her soft features.
“Aren’t grown ups not supposed to steal things?”
He laughs at her snark. He can’t help it. Oh, this kid’s fun.
Carefully slipping the ball into his hands, he moves closer to the fence. He can see her a little better now.
She’s still got that deep frown on her face and her dark hair is gleaming in the afternoon sun, some strands catching the light, reflecting a deep, auburn, hue. He’s just about to chuck the ball to her when he catches sight of her eyes.
They’re red.
Not that red eyes are unusual. There are plenty of people milling around Tokyo with them. But hers are different.
No, these eyes are like looking into a mirror for Shigaraki. They flint and glare with the same sheen as his own. It’s a prefect reflection.
His feet suddenly feel heavy, leaden, and he can’t lift his arms. Who is this child? Why does she-
“Ok, ok, mister. Can I please have my ball back? You’re still stealing it if you don’t, so I’m not apologizing for that. I might... if you give it back to me, cuz’ it’s my ball, not yours. And, stealing makes you a thief.”
She’s rolling those uncanny irises at his stiff form, and a huffing sigh escapes her small mouth.
“What’s your name?” Shigaraki asks, hands trembling over the rubber of the ball.
“Not supposed to tell that to strangers, mister.”
He smiles again, bemused. Well, he thinks begrudgingly, she’s a clever little thing. Whoever she is.
A sharp bell echoes across the yard and she turns her head at the sound, her dark hair tumbling around her shoulders.
“Here,” Shigaraki relents, gently flipping the ball over the fence, bouncing it to her feet.
“Thanks,” she murmurs, quickly snatching up her prize. Those red eyes of hers meet his own, and he can feel a low shiver echo up his spine. What’s up with this reaction? It almost feels visceral, like some sort of otherworldly pull on him.
“Sorry I called you a thief,” she apologizes, quickly bowing her head, ducking those eerie eyes from view.
He’s not sure what to say, so he continues to watch her. She doesn’t seem perturbed by this, opting to giggle at him as her little head lifts.
“You’re weird,” she assess, a smile finally spreading over her lips, her cheeks rounding and softening.
Tch, she’s rude, but she’s also cute, Shigaraki thinks, snorting at her frankness.
She turns, dashing away from him, her dark hair flowing around her back as she goes.
Shigaraki shakes his head, trying to dislodge those lingering questions that keep floating to the back of his mind.
He’ll never see her again, he reasons, wandering back to the bus stop. Trying to tamp down the urge to look for her again, to pinpoint her from the other giggling and shouting children on the playground.
Tumblr media
But he did see her again.
He comes back to the stop a few weeks later.
There’s no information pickup this time. There’s no real reason for him to even be on this side of town.
He just can’t get her out of his mind.
This little kid had shaken something within his psyche. He kept dreaming about her. Well, not her, really. No, there was someone else haunting his dreams.
He hasn’t thought about you in years.
But now? Now, he can’t get you out of his head. He even feels like he can feel you some nights, warm against his side. He sulks in the memories of the familiar touches that the two of you shared, the love that you’d pressed into him, so, so long ago.
He saw the girl in those moments. Resting in your arms as you looked up, your eyes bright against her dark head. The girl would laugh and run to him, those reflective red eyes shining with mirth.
It was fucking strange.
He both hated, and loved, the repetitive nature of these illusions. They made him feel safe and warm, but they also chilled him to his very bones. It was unsettling.
Unsure what else to do, he’d back come to the bus stop.
It’s early afternoon. Close to the time he’d visited it before. He waits on the lonely bench, his hands pressed together and that strange tremble races through his veins.
This is stupid, he thinks, his eyes lowering from the sea of kids, all twisting and turning in a heap as they play. It’s an impossibility, really. The chances of that girl losing her ball again is minuscule. There’s no way he can call to her either. It’s a waste. He shouldn’t even be here.
He’s standing to leave, when that small voice reaches him.
“Oh! You’re back.”
His head whips around, his long white hair glowing against the sunlight.
There she is.
She’s gripping the fence again, and she’s staring right at him.
Shigaraki smiles. It’s a gentle lift and he can feel his heart tapping a rough tattoo against his ribs. He steps toward her, kneeling when he gets close, careful to not overstep his bounds.
He’s not wanting to startle her.
No, he’s wanting to talk with her. Maybe she’ll drop some kinda clue why he’s so drawn to her. Or maybe she’ll morph into any other child again. Plain, uninteresting. Slipping from that odd ghost that she’s become to his subconscious.
He hopes it’s the latter. But part of him also longs for it to be the former.
Tumblr media
She’ll hop to the fence around 3:15.
She looks for him now, used to the routine of his presence.
He told her to call him Tomura, and the name falling from her lips made his heart ache.
Tomura stopped by on Fridays. Careful to not stay too long, to not draw too much attention to himself.
At first, he’d sneak her little trinkets.
A little plastic toy of his, one that he had since he was a kid. She’d squealed with delight and clutched it to her. He’d grinned at that, remembering how he’d once held onto the thick plastic himself.
Once, he’d just plucked a nearby flower as he walked to the school, presenting it to her outreached grasp. He’d watched proudly as she tucked it behind her ear, the color glossy beside her hair.
She’s still a sassy little thing. But she’s softened a little, too. Her voice losing that early, untrusting, edge.
He didn’t ask her much. Sometimes they both just sat in silence as she sketched designs into the dirt. Sometimes he would listen to her chatter about her day. Her classmates, her teacher. Once, she’d even pressed something over the fence to him.
It was a drawing.
He’s not sure if it really was all that well done, or if it’s just his heavy bias toward her. But he loves the mix of color and lines. He’d asked who the people were.
One was her friend, Kenji. One was her teacher. One was him.
He’d pinned it to the wall in his room. Displaying it, flaunting the gift. He looked at it every morning, admiring her work.
He’s late one day, and she scolds him, her small arms draping over the fence.
“I didn’t think you were going to come,” she chatters, her red eyes lingering against his, the two colors casting back the same hue.
“Was running behind,” Tomura replies, leaning against the low concrete barrier, resting his back against the fence.
Her little hands reach for his hair, playing with the pearlescent tendrils, weaving some into knots and braids.
He doesn’t mind.
“Hey, Tomura,” she says, working a tiny hairband into her creation, her voice curious.
“Hmm,” he hums, careful to not shift his head, not wanting to disrupt her hard work.
“You didn’t ask my name again. At least… not after that one day.”
“Do you want me to ask?” He queries, his pulse lifting.
He’d wanted to ask her again, but he didn’t want to startle her, to shatter these innocences that they shared.
“It’s Beryl,” she answers. She says it confidently, and he turns to face her.
She grins at him, wiggling one loose tooth playfully at his serious expression, trying to tug a laugh from him.
“Beryl?” he repeats, unable to keep that awed hush from his raspy tones. It’s a pretty name. It suits her, really. But it’s strange. It’s not Japanese.
You hadn’t been Japanese.
“That’s a good name,” he assures her. “But, it’s not… you don’t hear that name very often.”
“Yeah,” Beryl concedes, her vermillion eyes roving over his face. “My mom’s not from here.”
His nostrils flare at that.
He hasn’t asked her about her mother. He’s unsure if it’s a general disinterest on his part, or trepidation. He fears it’s the latter.
Gulping, he tilts his head at her, feeling that soft braid she’s plaited into his hair shifting.
“Who’s your mother?”
“Who is she? She’s my mom, silly.”
“No,” he pauses, ignoring that creeping tremor that’s working its way to the top of his skull, his skin prickling and cooling. “I mean…what’s her name?”
“Oh! Her name is-”
“Beryl! Beryl, it’s time to come inside.” A teacher is calling for her.
Tomura startles away, drifting to his feet and pacing quickly back to the bus stop. He can’t help the snarl that etches its way across his lips. He’d been so close. So fucking close…
He chances a glance back at the fence and catches sight of Beryl. She’s dashing across the playground, her dark hair waving in the sun.
Japan is about to slip into summer. School will come to a close, moving into a long break. He won’t see her again for almost a month.
His heart sinks at that realization and he grits his teeth. Slipping his hands into his dark trench coat, he steps across the street, away from the bus stop, away from the little girl that’s feeling more and more like his own.
Edit: oh hey. so, i couldn’t stfu about this and created a sequel: Materfamilias

This is a long angsty thought I had so I apologize: Bill and Tiger on vacation with friends and this is the first one with a few new editions to the group. Tiger gets along with all of them, but one night the girl reveals she wants to get with Bill. While Tiger gets a flare of jealousy, the calming waves and shining moon makes her feel a little more vulnerable than normal. She plays it cool, but she can’t help noticing how this girl is nice, she’s a solid friend from what Tiger can tell. She bottles up her emotions from the conversation, going straight to bed without texting or visiting Bill’s room. He’s slightly worried, of course, but just figured she got wasted. She had given him a key to her room so he walked in late to get some lovin, but she’s asleep. He sees the tears on her face, still wet and he knows somethings wrong. She wakes up from his stare and she loses it. He tries being stern with her, but he knew it was really bad when that didn’t work. She sadly tells him and he doesn’t say it’s dumb or that she’s overthinking. He just kisses her, plain stupid, grabbing her face and pulling her onto him. “Every time I look at you, kid. Every single time I look for you specifically and that won’t change.” He says, the warmth in her chest makes her head spin, and she smiles which he returns. “Plus, she spent the night with another guy hear yesterday, she was probably just a little vacation lovesick, just like another girl I know” He says, pinching her bottom. (Okay I’m done, but when she feels up to it he definitely fucks her so good she’s speechless and has to keep repeating that she’s his.)
Ohhhh sweet nani, the thoughts you have given me.
Thank you.
Thank you.
I love it when tiger just kind of gets all up in her head about this thing she has going with Bill, because goddamn if that ain't relatable eh? My friends and I talk about this a lot, about the differences in the way men and women approach dating or hell, even hitting on someone. And we have come to one main conclusion: men will almost always approach and hit on someone WAY the fuck out of their league, and women seldom will.
I don't know about ya'll, but when I see an insanely attractive guy I just like...shut down. I stare at my feet. I mumble. I blush. I want the ground to open up and swallow me whole--and the last thing on my mind is "yo, I'mma hit on this tall drink of water." Like, I would literally rather pull my own teeth out than hit on a guy that is so ridiculously attractive and so COMPLETELY OUT OF MY LEAGUE.
But dudes? Dudes will see a solid 10 walking down the street and think "Thank god I'm a fucking 14 because that bish is mine." It's actually incredible. Like, it's a scientific phenomenon.
For all the confidence that us women lack, the wrong men seem to have absorbed it all by fucking osmosis.
Fascinating.
ANYWAY. I'll bet tiger feels like that a lot. Bill is just...he's so much, you know? On the surface level there's his insane good looks, his height, the fact that he's a rich motherfucker, and he's famous. All of that weighs on tiger's mind, yes, but then she's even worse off because she knows what's underneath too. A kind, gentle mammoth of a man, the most empathic person she has ever met, someone who is incredibly sensitive and who takes such good care of her, worries over her, tries every day to make her happy. And tiger just...tiger will never understand how she got so lucky.
But then alright, it's time for another friend vacation and this time there are a few new additions. People try not to make a big deal out of it but somehow there always is just a slight check in with Bill--nobody does it outright because god Bill would be mortified and so would everyone else, but there is definitely a few mentions of new people joining the vacation and it gives Bill a chance to back out if he's not comfortable with the idea.
And maybe tiger really does genuinely hit it off with one of the girls. She's a real firecracker, and the exact type of person that tiger respects. She's funny, she's pretty as all hell, she's not afraid to make a bit of a fool of herself to make everyone laugh. This girl eats like a trucker and swears like a sailor, and tiger thinks she's good people. So much so that one night maybe the boys go off and do their own thing, macho bonding or some shit, and tiger and this girl grab some drinks and have some good girl bonding time.
But then it happens. A few drinks in, it happens. And this girl absolutely isn't trying any in vino veritas bullshit, this is really just the first opportunity she's had to drill a little deeper.
"So what's his deal?" she asks. Tiger blinks, sips her drink.
"Who's deal?" she replies. But tiger knows exactly who.
"Bill," she says, "Is he single?"
"Oh, uh," tiger knocks back another big sip of her drink, "...Yeah. Yeah he's single."
Because what is she supposed to say? No, he's taken? Then that would lead to questions about why he's on this vacation alone.
The girl gets a devious smirk, steeples her fingers together--and tiger just wants to hit something, because goddamn this girl is cute. Adorable, even. And when she gives a little whoop and a dorky fistpump, tiger feels her stomach drop to the floor--not because she's after Bill, no no, even worse--because she's actually just so perfect for him.
"Diiiiiiibs," the girl says, "Man I've been eyeing that tall drink of water all trip."
"Ha, yeah," tiger stammers awkwardly and downs the rest of her drink, "He's a handsome one."
"Are you cool with it?" the girl asks, and actually places a concerned hand on tiger's knee, "I don't want to...come between anything. If there is anything." Dis bitch is cute as a button and kind. Fuck.
Tiger gives a casual shrug.
"Why wouldn't I be cool with it?" she says, "I....don't have any claim to him."
"Would it be weird for you?"
"Go for it," she mumbles.
And tiger wants to tell this girl to back off, that Bill is claimed, and that Bill is being claimed every goddamn night of this vacation to the point where his back jammed on him again and tiger had to ice it down this morning. But she can't say any of that--and in true tiger fashion, she just gets a little sad about it. Anger and ferocious defensiveness for Bill would be her first reaction if this girl was a real fucking idiot, but god she's just....she's so nice.
"Okay, okay okay okay," the girl smoothes her hair down, starts to look real serious, "Help a bitch out. What should I do?"
And poor tiger, tiger has to sit there the whole night while this girl actually schemes to get her claws into Bill. And tiger is almost forced to help.
She retreats back to her own room that night, nauseated, sad, and with raw emotions bubbling to the surface. And bless your heart sweet nani, bless your heart for knowing mine so well--because the shining moon absolutely gets to her, the call of the crashing waves. Tiger sits out on her balcony for a bit but she just cries. Just lets it all overwhelm her, lets herself feel every emotion she tried to reel in that night as she helped give a girl tips on how to get Bill. And when she's too exhausted, when it's all just too much--she goes to bed. She misses the text messages from Bill--doesn't even look at her phone, actually. Just curls up in Sad Girl form, all balled in on herself, and falls asleep.
And Bill thinks it's pretty strange that she's not responding, and it's even more strange that she didn't let herself into his room which they had agreed would be their place of rendezvous that night. So instead, he does a quick check of the hallways and then Pink Panther's his lanky ass against the wall before deftly swiping his key card in her door and opening it.
And that's exactly how he finds her, cheeks still wet, her own thumb in her mouth, all curled in on herself. Concerned, he traces a gentle finger down her cheek and she stirs.
"Tiger," he crouches down to be eye level with her, "What's wrong?"
She blinks sleepily, bristles a little, and swipes at her cheeks.
"Nothing," she croaks. Her throat is dry from crying, and she winces.
He doesn't say anything. Just brushes his thumbs across her cheeks, keeping her face in his hands.
"Tiger," he says sternly, "We have rules."
"Yellow," she says immediately, "I don't...I don't want--"
"Okay," he soothes, running his hands up her arms, "We won't. But tiger, can you tell me what's wrong?"
"Bill, it's nothing. Let's just go to sleep."
But like, she's cracking. There are fresh tears rolling down her cheeks now, and Bill knows she needs to let something out.
"It's me kid," he says softly, "You can tell me anything."
And like, tiger cracks. It opens the floodgates. She tells him everything--the entire conversation, every little detail of it. When she works herself up too much at some points, when he starts to hear a wheeze in her breath, he puts a steadying hand on her knee to help ground her. But she lets it all out--every detail, everything this girl said about him, everything tiger told her. She's full on crying again by the end, but Bill just listens. He listens, and he waits.
And you know what I love here, nani? God it's so important. Bill doesn't tell her she's nuts. Doesn't tell her she's foolish for ever thinking he wanted anyone but her. Because that's not what will get through to her. Instead, just like he always does--he loves her and reassures her in the way that she needs, in the way that she can recognize in that moment.
He waits as she pauses, waits to see if she'll continue, but she doesn't.
"Are you done?" he asks quietly. She nods.
"Can I say something now?" he ducks to catch her gaze, and she nods again. He pulls her into his lap.
"Tiger, it's you," he says simply, "It's you kid. Only, and always."
She sniffles, and he kisses her nose.
"Everybody else can try as much as they want. They can give it their best shot. It won't matter," he continues, "It's you, kid."
Ugh, my fucking heart. It gives her the reassurance that she needs. And listen, over the next few days, Bill finds little ways to reinforce that. Maybe this girl does take a shot at him--and he politely, gently shoots her down. Maybe when tiger is feeling ready for it, man he gives it to her so good that she has to stay in bed the next day, because she's walking funny. It's his secret glances, his small winks, his hand on her knee under the table, rising just a liiiiiiiittle high under the safety of the dark night club.
It's everything she needs, in the way that she needs it.
this ask was a gift nani, thank you.

Eijiro Kirishima x Reader
TW: cussing
Genre: Fluff, romantic
Word count: 1579
You cracked your door open, peeking out to make sure no one was around. After you assured the coast was clear, you slipped out, closing the door with a small click behind you.
You stood outside your dorm room, waiting patiently. A nearby door creaked open and you shushed him frantically. “Shut up! God, you’re loud.”
He just laughed quietly, pulling you into a hug and pressing his nose into your hair. You sighed in contentment, having missed these times when it was just the two of you.
“C’mon, let’s go.” He grabbed your hand and you both tiptoed down the hall, took the stairs down, and opened and closed the front doors, all with barely any noise.
Once outside, you turned around to see if you could see any lights turning on, just checking no one had heard you.
“It’s fine, babe. No one saw or heard us. We’re good, now let’s go!”Eijiro grabbed your hand and led you off campus and over to a nearby arcade.
He ran ahead of you and held the door open for you. “M’lady?” he says, a smile playing on his lips as he swung his hand in a semi-circle around, over his head, and under his other arm.
You grinned and walked in, giving him a cheek kiss as you passed. “Thhaannnkkk youuuu,” you said, drawing out your words dramatically.
He giggled and followed you in, trying to fight you to be the first to the counter. You elbowed him in the ribs, temporarily pushing him out of the running.
You ran up to the counter and slammed your hands down on the old, faded linoleum. “Two pleas- DAMMIT EIJIRO!” you screamed as Eijiro came up behind you and pulled you away by your waist.
He slid the money across the counter and turned back to you with a huge smile plastered across his face. You growled under your breath and walked up to him, looking straight up at his face, arms crossed.
“What, pebble?” he asked, tugging your hand up to the counter so the cashier could give you your band and cards.
“Oh, nothing. It’s just that I feel bad for you.”
“Oh? Why’s that?”
“Because I’m gonna kick your ass.” You smirked, dashing off to find the first game.
You skidded to a stop in front of the only available skee-ball machine and swiped your card. Eijiro did the same on the one paired with yours. It beeped and the plastic shield above the balls slid back.
You picked up the first one and rolled it, landing it in the outer ten-point ring, Eijiro managing to make it in the twenty-point cylinder. You growled to yourself, knowing you’d have to up your game to beat him.
He glanced over at you and flashed you a grin as he rolled his second ball, making it into the ten-point this time.
You roll it with so much angry force that it actually makes it into the one-hundred slot. You freeze for a second, registering what just happened before Eijiro nudges you with his elbow.
“Great shot, y/n!” He beams a huge smile at you and you can’t help but smile back and hug him.
“Thanks, babe!” You roll another one, scoring a ten, Eijiro rolling a fifty.
“One minute left!” The machine squealed out.
You both made a show of quickly rolling all of the balls down, not really caring what holes they landed in. You ended up with 380, Eijiro with 370.
You met him halfway as your machines printed out your tickets and he wrapped you in a hug, breathing in your ear. “Good job, pebble.” He congratulated you.
“Thanks, you too," you replied, ripping your tickets off and shoving them into your back pocket.
“What’s next?” you ask him, since you picked the first game.
“Umm, air hockey? I’m not horrible at it,” he suggests, pointing to the left.
“Sounds good," you reply and he leads the way over.
You take your positions at either side of the table and swipe your cards. You place your hand on your paddle as Eijiro does the same. The puck falls out on his side and he places it in front of his paddle, swatting it over to you.
You swat it back at him, aiming for his pocket. You missed and he deflected it, shooting it back toward your pocket with a little wrist flourish.
You tried to defend it and send it back at him, but you missed and it landed straight in your pocket. You sighed as you grabbed it and placed it back on the table, cracking your neck.
Eijiro laughed. “Why- why are you-” He doubled over in laughter. “Why are you- why are you cracking your- popping your- your neck?” He asked, stuttering from laughter.
You glared at him playfully. “Because I’m about to beat your ass.”
His face suddenly went serious. “No way.” He deflected your shots and sent the puck spinning into your pocket time after time after time until the buzzer went off.
He won… 26-1. He laughed and hugged you. “I love you!” He said, grinning. You sighed in acceptance but were unable to stay mad at him.
“Why do you have to be so cute?” You mock-complained, pressing your face into his chest as he wrapped his arms around you tightly.
“Alright, let’s go. What’s next?” You stood up on your tiptoes and looked around, eyes scanning and mapping out the whole place.
“Hmm… bumper cars?” You suggested, lowering yourself back to the ground and shrugging.
Eijiro reached out and grabbed your hand. “Great idea! Let’s go.”
You dashed across the building and joined the line. You checked the time on your watch. “Oh, shit. Kiri, it’s already two am!”
“Oh shit.” He flipped his wrist to check his own watch and his eyes widened. “Okay, after this, we go back.” You nodded.
After what felt like forever, you were at the front of the line. You showed the nice girl your bands and she let you in. You sat down in the [____] one, your favorite color, while Eijiro chose the red one.
You zoomed around the track, waving pageant-style at him as he hunched over the wheel in the little bumper car that seemed way too small for him. You laughed, throwing your head back as you finished in third place all in all, first between you two.
You stood up, brushing off your clothes, and walked over to help a struggling Kirishima out of his doll-sized car. “Need some help?” You asked, chickling as you extended your hand to him. He took it with an annoyed face but you could see in his eyes that he was joking.
You pulled him up by his hand, your fingers lacing together by instinct once he rose completely out. He wrapped you in a hug as you waited in line to leave.
“Ugh, bottle-necking us like this isn’t cool.” He muttered against your hair, annoyed at the people who designed it with only one exit gate.
You giggled against his shoulder and pull away, leading you out in a hurry. “SHIT!” You yelled. “That took an hour!” Eijiro froze in terror, staring at his phone.
“Fuck. Kaminari and Mina have been texting me.” He said, tapping the screen.
“Dammit. Jirou and Momo have been texting and calling me.” You replied, opening the messages to tell them you’re fine.
You finished texting before him and grabbed the front of his shirt, guiding him out of the building and back to the dorms.
You pulled the doors open and saw Mina and Momo. They were sitting on the couch, sipping tea. Mina looked over as you two walked through the doors. “Care to explain where you’ve been all night?” She asked, raising an eyebrow over her mug.
“Uh- we were with… Denki and Jirou,” Kirishima tries to explain. You nod, thinking you might be able to get away with it.
Denki and Jirou pop their heads over the back of the other couch. Mina looks over with a pointed expression. “Care to try again?”
“We wanted to get away for a bit, just the two of us and have some fun before finals. We were at the arcade down the street.” You blurted out, ducking your head in shame.
“Why didn’t you invite us? We could’ve all hung out!” They exclaimed, clearly riveted that you didn’t invite them.
“Like we said, we just wanted some alone time. Sorry guys, maybe next time?” Eijiro responded, placing a hand around your waist and pulling you close.
Mina seemed satisfied with that answer and sent you off to bed while the four of them stayed downstairs, doing whatever the hell they were doing.
Before you went into your dorm, Eijiro pulled you close and smothered you in a hug. You pulled away, tired, but he gripped at the back of your hips and pressed a sweet, loving kiss to your lips and another to your forehead.
“Goodnight princess. I love you.” He whispered into your ear, hugging you tight one last time.
“Goodnight my manly man. I love you too.” You kissed his neck, which was the highest part you could reach.
You both turned around and went into your separate dorm rooms to sleep in your own separate beds that night. You fell asleep smiling and all the second thoughts you’d ever had slipped away. This was exactly what you needed.
