Kaigan (or Kai for short) is the heir to the small Kingdom of Shīdoragon (quite literally translated to seadragon). He has always tried his best to play the part of the picture-perfect prince. At first glance, he can come off as standoffish, stuck up, and insincere but deep down he’s just an insecure boy desperate for a place to belong. His father is dismissive at his best and downright cruel at his worst, so Kai could seriously use a lesson on self-worth. If you can manage to peel back the many layers of fake bravado and sharp-witted sarcasm and teach him that there’s more to him than just his crown and pretty face, you’ll find that Kaigan is actually a sweet, brave, hopeless romantic of a boy with a passion for Malacology.

vash isn't human, he's a "plant". basically an energy source/battery that's grown independence and a soul. he doesn't produce any "energy" though.

he has powers that he's yet to discover and unlock.

he's got an evil twin brother that's the reason for the bounty on his head.

he's over 150+ years old, with superhuman capabilities etc.

he's too nice for his own good. his moral code has almost gotten him killed.

thus he doesn't kill his opponents or anyone, which he suffers greatly from.

he's a very skilled marksman and fighter, but ironically he hates doing both.
