6. what’s the hardest part of the writing process for you?

does making dumb brain focus and not go hehe funny youtube video go brrr count starting and ending things. starting is worse than ending and i usually stress so bad that my beginnings are terrible.

12. What’s your perfect environment to create/write?

ideal: dark, cold and quiet save for ambient rain sounds. i can't write if its bright around me, i'm part goblin and require darkness. this is why 5am is a magical hour for me. rain sounds are usually the key to getting myself to focus though!!

16. Do you re-read old fics? Is there a time in your writing you won’t go back to?

I do, but not usually until they're several months old. It took like? Close to 3 months before I could reread Eyes and not have a visceral "Wow I would change so much about this" reaction. I still can't reread most of Butterfly Effect. It's hard for me not to be super critical of myself until I get some distance.

The lone exception to this is White & Gray (actually and Red Sky) which I can and do reread often in order for consistency. I am, for the most part, quite satisfied with that one.

As far as going back: I used to be part of two different fandoms that I won't ever reread my works from. One of them, the author turned out to be a fucking dogshit human (you can probably guess what fandom that was), and the other one was Owari no Seraph and I quite literally had a stalker so that's a gigantic nopestick. I purged all of my works from those universes when I nuked my old FFnet account and I've never been more glad to go completely feral on something. I can't even think of my writing in those verses without getting nausea sooo yeah no fuck that.

We were so close to smoking not being cool anymore. We were so close. Then they flavored it mango and now it's taboo to criticize it anymore. People don't ask if they're allowed to vape indoors, they aren't considerate of people who may have health problems that are triggered by the chemicals or if it just bothers them, people don't care that they're supporting an industry built on corruption and greed, they can't see it draining their pockets and much less their health. We were so close to smoking not being cool anymore.

not all of us are afab (i really fucken wish this tiktok girls would stop assuming that because it's just not true)

not all of us want to be called an enby, that makes some people uncomfy and everyone needs to respect that

not all of us go (or want to go) through hrt

not all of us use they/them prns or neo pronouns

some ppl use just he/him or she/her and that is fine because it's your own person

not all of us name ourselves just. words. like "sock" or "blue" (no hate of course to the people who do, those names are very cool, but it still is a stereotype and it's annoying when ppl genuinely assume this outside of being meme-y)

not all of us dress androgynously and we dont have to

and lastly, none of us owe anybody else anything because it's our gender, and it's no one else's business
