I truly do think the imps in this game are adorable and taking Nemnok as a pet after beating him in battle was obviously the only viable choice.

it's . so so hard for me to stick w new chars . often i’ll bail out on them n start again after a half hr of play, if i'm lucky.

but i recently started poe: deadfire again after talkin w ethan/@vape-president and uhmmm i might have a developing char i'm liking ??

she doesn't have a name atm, so i simply chose Watcher. she's a wood elf ranger from old vailia and her background is drifter. she specializes in the war bow & stilettos, favoring to hit her enemies with a deep strike. ⚔️she also has a huge lion as her animal companion ! his name is titan 🫣 🦁

she's rather stoic and independent, often coming across with a fierce and no-nonsense attitude. she can enjoy others' company tho, even if she's initially quite guarded and wary. i think she’s warmed to her crew by now, letting her protective and caring side show more. her lion is always by her side; you will never see one without the other nearby.

i chose old vailia bc it's an old pirate empire and i wanted her history to include some type of (minor?) pirate backstory, before she took to the road and traveled.

neway neway omg i didn't even realize how much info i had filed away abt her already. i didn't mean to actually type this much where did the time go. looking bck on this makes me realize it'd b a shame 2 start over, so i'm glad i had some time today to write this and reflect.

i literally have so many new (to me) games to play AND my birthday is next week and i asked for jedi survivor and starfield and now i’m going to go feral because i have too many games and not enough time to play them all

#poe and deadfire were both on sale in the microsoft store #neverwinter nights and bg1 and 2 were on sale in the switch eshop #so i bought all of these things #on top of the games i have already that i haven't started #how do people do it #how do people play so many games #i wish i didn't have to work #biting and shaking my full time job around like a dog toy because i want to kill it #anyway

i knooooow i sound like a broken record at this point but i really can’t recommend pillars of eternity enough. it doesn’t play like da its more along the lines of bg3, but in terms of story its so so so good and i won’t spoil it but they do have some plot points that are similar to da but they’re imo handled way better and there’s no real both sides gotchas

obviously on a deeper level there is something tragic about maia's character in that she buys in to the rauataian imperial project so much that she refuses to criticise it, even when she is ordered to do things she believes to be wrong. and on one hand i wish you could push back on this more with her but on the other i love that you cant? i love that these are deeply held convictions she has and if you argue with her she isn't inspired to renounce her country, instead she just gets pissed off!

#and like of course u can't ignore that she was born in the deadfire and is used as a spy because of that #the maia kana rauatai huana stuff...its very chewy.#caoimhe plays poe
