Drumming Heartbeat
A/n: I have no idea how drums work and this is short. I feel like most of the requests are going to be. Sorry.
You were tapping to the sound of your friends trumpet, feeling the music. A smile was on your face and your eyes were peacefully down-cast, simply enjoying the music and following with your own.
You and the band you were part of, Odd Winter, had been asked to play at the Weather Vane and you agreed.
People listened as they drank coffee and calmly conversed, the over all space was cozy and warm.
You looked around and saw a few familiar faces: Some Nevermore kids showed up but you didn’t have to worry about her showing up because she didn’t do social events.
About an hour had passed when you took a break, you walked to the counter and asked for a hot tea.
Ajax walked up to you, “Dude, you’re so good at the drums, like last time I heard you, you sucked.”
You laughed, “Well that was also the first day I got them so..” you smiled, “So did you bring Enid?”
“Yeah she’s going to be showing up later, Wednesday decided to come.”
You froze, “Oh.”
Ajax picked up on it, “Dude, I know you have a hard time accepting you have skills but you do. Wednesday would love to hear you play and you know it.”
“I just- What if jazz isn’t her type of music?”
“And? Do you really have to have a similar music taste?”
“Well-“
You were cut off by a cheerful voice, you looked and saw Enid.
“Hey! Sorry we’re late!” She said, looking at Wednesday, who walked to you. You immediately put your arm around her shoulders.
“It’s all good, you two did miss some great playing though.”
Wednesday looked up at you, “You didn’t tell me.”
You sighed, “I just- ya know, didn’t think you’d be into it.”
“What if I was?”
You grinned, “Well, I guess we’ll see.” You let her go to go back to your place on the stage, ready to impress her.
Slowly the music started back up, catching the attention of the attendees. You feel into a smooth rhythm, picking up the pace of your drumming.
Your eyes raised up and you saw her watching you, intensely. You couldn’t read her expression clearly but you felt as if she appreciated and approved, which is all that you wanted.

Learn Drums with Ray Pereira
At Classes in Melbourne, Ray and his team will teach you how to play African drums like a pro!
Ray is an expert in teaching West African drums, particularly the Djembe. The Dun Dun drums are played with sticks and always accompany the Djembe in an African Drumming group.
Djembe rhythms come from all over West Africa, including Guinea, Mali, Burkina Faso, Senegal, Gambia and the Ivory Coast. These countries consume traditional music that features Djembes and Dun Dans playing a significant role.
Other countries in West Africa use traditional drums as their main instrument, similar to Ghana's Djembe. The popularity of the Djembe has now extended to various other countries beyond African borders; thus, many non-African traditional musicians are adopting the djembe as a solo drum and adapting their own rhythms accordingly.
In addition to the Kpanlogo drum, which is played with the hands, Ray teaches rhythms from Ghana that use sticks on other Ghanaian drums. By selecting a repertoire of various drums and rhythms, his students gets establish a stronger comprehension of more than just one type rhythm and drum.
