Made black bean burgers for the first time today for a super late lunch! Turned out pretty good I’d say. Was a bit soft, will look into remedying that one.
The best vegan burger I’ve had was a chickpea patty with a green apple slice, from a food truck called Nosh Pit in Detroit. Might try to remake that one next week.
I’ve now seen the “would you eat lab-grown meat” poll twice, which means it is time to air one of my least charitable opinions---namely, I think imitation meat is an abomination. I could pretend this is for noble reasons (and I want to believe I have a couple in the mix) but truthfully its existence revolts and annoys me. It feels like a kind of hypocrisy; I mean, I’m sorry if you crave chicken wings for whatever reason? but you’re the one who gave up an omnivorous diet and refused to get creative with the foods left to you. Eat your cauliflower in buffalo sauce and shut up.
Why is it whenever a fast food place introduces a new vegan product it's always a burger? They need to give the people what they really want: plant based shakes and icecream.
I made my sister try beyond burger and her genuine reaction was 🤭😳 she could not believe it was vegan but she really liked it. She found it even better than beef as it is not very greasy. I felt I was opening a whole new world for her 🤗
