Christmas is so close!! ✨ I felt like drawing her. It was initially going to be a quick doodle without background, but... you know
(Also I heard if you have at least 15 Insight, it looks as if Doll is smiling!)

Some sentimental observations
Hey, guys, remember this picture on Maria’s table?
This picture I think is most likely a missing one from Old Hunters Workshop’s fireplace’s shelf! It appears to be all busy with pictures - but there is an accent on one uncharacteristially empty spot!
They also appear to stand on the holders rather than have them built in the frame, so one on Maria’s table is even more similar to this type
Maria could have snatched one to have some fond memories of old friends, since she settled in Clocktower for good? I personally see three people on the picture, so, most likey herself, Gehrman and whoever was the third person. Or could that be act of spite after becoming disappointed in “madness of his curiousity” - as in, she wanted him to never be able to look at this picture anymore. Maybe because it was the only picture of herself, maybe the third person on the picture was the one Gehrman needed to “forget”. Or maybe both of these possibilities work, because feelings are... complicated.
Also, I’ve noticed some time ago that not only Doll seems to have Maria’s accessory from the collar (but as necklace instead of a brooch), but also has her ribbon - but decorating her hat rather than hair!
But yesterday I was playing and only this time it caught my attention that Doll appears to have Maria’s boots!
Granted, resolution is slightly lowered, but you can spot the same design - if only with the upper part not rolled outward in the same way as Maria’s.
I am not sure about the ribbon, my idea is that when Maria was dead - she had short hair, as she cut her whole polytail off (easy possibility, considering a lot of Yamamura’s “faraway land”’s influence on Cainhurst)
Typically, Victorian grieving dolls were supposed to be put in the clothes of the people they are based on, so it makes perfect sense to use as many of Maria’s actual belongings as possible. I think Gehrman had to custom make the actual clothes as putting memo of Maria in her hunter’s attire would be a dishonor to the anguish that led to her end; she was heartbroken after Fishing Hamlet and moooooost likely would never want to be immortalized as the ruthless hunter she ended up being.
