I know it’s too soon and it sounds like they have everything under control, but let’s say the worst happens and we suddenly have King William and Queen Catherine….
Yes, it would be sad yada yada, but how delicious to see the Harkles forced to bow/ curtsey to the new King and Queen in public.
Markle would brave the humiliation to help her brand, but how humiliating for them to bow/ curtsey to their hated rivals.
***
Seeing Meghan have to grovel to William and Kate would be better than a free dessert with Costco-sized portions.
The humiliation she felt at the Queen’s funeral is going to pale in comparison to the humiliation she will feel at the King’s funeral. And when you think about it, The Queen’s funeral was three times the humiliation Meghan was expecting:
1. She (and Harry) were already in the UK which meant she was on a kind of lockdown that kept her from orchestrating the usual PR shenanigans she has become accustomed to when the BRF has major ceremonial events like this. She not only had ‘the firm’ watching her, but Harry was also there with her, in the same house, and she couldn’t just send him away so she could scheme in private (as she did every other time Harry went back to London without her, and notably for Philip’s funeral).
2. This “lockdown” also meant that she couldn’t go anywhere. No traveling, no parties, no nothing because of tightened security protocols, which means she couldn’t escape any of the criticism being said about her and Harry and she also couldn’t escape any of the praise Kate was getting...whom everyone was now calling The Princess of Wales while she was just ‘Meghan.’
3. It was made very clear that she and Harry were not welcome around the family, neither the main “branch” of Charles and Waleses nor the extended family. Harry wasn’t invited on the plane with William, but Andrew was. Harry wasn’t invited to Birkhall with Charles the night The Queen died to discuss transition. Hardman’s book all but says no one talked to Harry that night at Balmoral over dinner. Harry didn’t do the “family” walkabout at Balmoral with the rest of the grandchildren. The Sussexes didn’t get their own “meet the public and view the tributes” walkabout like the rest of the titled family members (minus the Yorkies). Charles called them ‘Harry and Meghan’ (no titles) and wished them well overseas in his first speech after The Queen’s passing. Harry wasn’t part of the Accession Council. Members of the public visibly and audibly refused to give greetings to Meghan at the Windsor walkabout. Harry had his ER revoked from his military uniform the one time he did get to wear it. Meghan was rejected by Camilla, Kate, and Sophie at the funeral - look at the gulf between them after the service when they were curtsying the cortege. No one spoke to them after The Queen’s commital service when they were waiting to leave but the staff.
It’s going to be so, so much worse when Charles passes. Especially if they’re in California (like when Philip passed) and all these negotiations are happening over much longer distances with much more time zones.
(And I do think Harry has some regret over The Queen and Philip’s passing - he “wasn’t told” they were dying so he didn’t get to see them one last time, which which probably made the trauma from Diana’s passing fresh again, and that’s why we see Harry making urgent plans to see Charles. This isn’t a knock against Harry; I missed seeing my own grandfather before he passed, the only cousin/grandchild who did, and the woulda/coulda/shoulda is very real so I completely understand. I do, however, side-eye his claims that he wasn’t told, because the signs were very, very obvious in both situations.)

No official announcement of the princess' engagement had yet been made. The name of Lieutenant Philip Mountbatten formerly Prince Philip of Greece has been repeatedly mentioned throughout the world. To inquire as about her engagement the Princess said 'you must wait and see'.
There was, by now, one very regular visitor to the palace. In 1946, Prince Philip came back from the Far East and was appointed to a Royal Navy training unit. Palace staff noticed a new photograph on Princess Elizabeth’ desk. Following a night out with the Prince to see the musical Oklahoma!, she had taken to playing the song ‘People Will Say We’re In Love’ on her gramophone. Crawfie and others noted that the Prince’s sports car was an increasingly familiar sight at Buckingham Palace. He had even taken to inviting himself round to see Lilibet, as he acknowledged in a half-apology to the Queen. ‘However contrite,’ he wrote to her in June 1946, ‘I feel there is always a small voice that keeps saying “nothing ventured, nothing gained" - well, I did venture and I gained a wonderful time.’
SEPTEMBER 1946 BALMORAL
The next step would come when the Prince was invited to join the Royal Family house party in te Highlands, later that same summer. ‘I suppose I began to think about it seriously when I got back in forty-six and went to Balmoral,’ Prince Philip told his biographer, Basil Boothroyd. ‘It was probably then that we began to think about it seriously and even talk about it.’ That was the Duke’s understated version, long after the event, of what happened. He did rather more than talk about it. It was at Balmoral that the twenty-five-year-old Prince proposed to his twenty-year-old sweetheart. As the royal biographer, William Shawcrow, has revealed, the Prince was ecstatic when she accepted, and they then successfully sought the approval of the King and Queen. ‘I am sure I do not deserve all the good things which had happened to me,’ Prince Philip wrote to his future mother-in-law soon afterwards, in September 1946. ‘To have been spared in the war and seen victory, to have been given the chance to rest and re-adjust myself, to have fallen in love completely and unreservedly, makes all one’s personal and even the world’s troubles seem small and petty.” This recent ‘circumstance’, he added, had done ‘more for me than anything else in my life.’ | Queen of Our Times by Robert Hardman.

CC, there are Daily Mail articles serializing excerpts of Robert Hardman's new royal biography on the first year of King Charles III's reign. Latest DM article "Queen's fury over naming of baby Lilibet: Aide says monarch was 'as angry as I'd ever seen her' after Harry and Meghan claimed they had her blessing to use childhood nickname." Tarot reading question to add to your list: does the Royal Family feel vindicated to have RH publish the truth in his book on the RF's dealings with the Parkles?
HI Nonny,
I have added that reading to my list. :)
Those article are showing the Harkles in a very bad light , which imo they deserve 100%. Using the late Queen's pet name for their child after she had said that she wanted the name buried with Prince Philip was one of the cruellest things I have ever seen one person do to another. I am glad it is being brought up again and other people are seeing how cruel and hurtful it was to an old lady who had just lost her beloved husband. I don't think I will ever forget the malice and cruelty of that action by the Harkles.

A newer Sinner in the Weekly Sub Chat was interested in all of our opinions on these questions! When do you think each member of the Royal Family realized TW’s TRUE nature? Who do you think realized it first, who last, and do you think anyone knew from the beginning that TW was “evil” (quoting TLQ)? My opinion is that as soon as POW William and Catharine met her for the first time (going over to Hairballs for dinner and TW is there in “barefeet and ripped jeans; trying to hug and hang off them” — THE FIRST TIME SHE MET THEM…..I also think that Prince 👑 Philip saw through her right away… there was an expert of the new Robert Hardman book “Charles III - New King 👑; New Court” and it says in there that Late Queen Elizabeth II was at FIRST meeting very happy for Hairball and liked TW….BUT Prince Phillip told her he wasn’t sure and to be careful because for him there were just to many parallels with Willis Simpson…. We KNOW that The Late Queen definitely figured TW out pretty fast and if we take that when she found out that TW was NOT coming to to her late husband’s funeral she literally said “THANK GOD”; also the fact that she called TW EVIL as well?! Just think of the death glare POW Catharine gave TW at the walk about during Queen Elizabeth’s funeral; THE CANDLE; POW scarfing here etc etc….. Bet though that Eugenie was the last to figure it out or she just decided she knows now which side her bread is buttered LOL….What are your opinions Sinners???And credit for the questions go to Sinner: ManicPixieMeanGirl_ post link: https://ift.tt/05yPlLv author: Counter_Logic77 submitted: March 21, 2024 at 08:49PM via SaintMeghanMarkle on Reddit disclaimer: all views + opinions expressed by the author of this post, as well as any comments and reblogs, are solely the author's own; they do not necessarily reflect the views of the administrator of this Tumblr blog. More misinformation and deception from the sugars.
Let's clear some things up.
--QEII's letters are not being published. The author, Robert Hardman, is simply stating that the Queen left letters for King Charles III and her private secretary. No one knows their contents, and probably never will. Nice try at distortion after Meghan totally leaked private letters from KCIII to Omid Scobie to trash the RF, but it isn't gonna work here.
--Ummmm, I don't think writing about any head of state's death is PR. I think it's common? But ok, keep lying to yourself and the Sussexes sink.
--Fwiw, Rebecca English used to be a Harry fan and would publish pro-Harry/anti-then Cambridges pieces (perhaps with Harry's leaking and direction). But you refuse to acknowledge this because Harry and Meghan are the biggest victims ever!!!!!! And yeah, QEII was upset about the name, it was deeply personal to her, Philip was the last person who called her that. None of her kids or grandkids did. God forbid you use some "compassion in action" (blergh) and think about it from other family members' point of view....because HARRY AND MEGHAN VICTIMS!!!! Give me a fucking break.
--Not going to defend QEII and Andrew -- that was wrong. But H&M have been active participants in hurting their family. Not the evil UK tabloids (which H&M have briefed to regularly). But their actions hurt QEII, they showed no regard or care for her with the baby name. And sorry, the media isn't using a child here; H&M did from the moment the chose the name and now Lili will be saddled with an unfortunate story (and a princess title that is pretty much useless in the US) because of her parents. Not anyone else.

On 16 April 1953, the Queen, accompanied by Prince Philip, launched HMY Britannia.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Britannia had actually been conceived back in 1939, when bids were first invited to build a £900,000 replacement for the nineteenth-century Victoria and Albert. The war and post-war austerity put that on hold. However, the King’s 1947 trip to South Africa, in the battleship Vanguard, had highlighted the need for something both regal and seaworthy for royal visits to the new-look Commonwealth (the elderly Victoria and Albert was limited to short coastal hops). It was actually a Labour prime minister, Clement Attlee, who announced plans for a new royal yacht in October 1951. His defeat at the general election, just days later, meant that it was Winston Churchill who would deliver it. The plan was for a medium-sized hospital ship with a dual role as a royal yacht in peacetime. Glasgow shipbuilders John Brown & Co were told to move fast, as the ship was also supposed to be a tonic for the ailing King.
To speed things up, the design would follow existing plans for a cross-Channel ferry – but with a more elegant bow. The Duke of Edinburgh would take a very close interest in all aspects of what was codenamed Ship Number 691, including a colour scheme copied from his Dragon-class sailing boat, Bluebottle – dark blue, with a red stripe and a thin gold band. King George VI would not live to see his yacht take shape. It was the Queen who came to name Ship 691 (with a bottle of Empire wine, not champagne) at her launch on the Clyde, in April 1953. The name Britannia had been top secret until the moment the Queen announced it. The cheer was so loud that many failed to hear what she had said.”

Miles Norfolk's one lasting contribution to the plans for the death of the sovereign was a name. 'There was a debate over how to call it,' says Eddie Norfolk. 'My father happened to see a picture of London Bridge hanging on the wall. So he said: "Let's call it London Bride."'
Following the adoption of 'London Bridge', the funeral plans for all senior members of the family were given a 'bridge' designation - 'Forth Bridge' for Prince Philip, 'Tay Bridge' for Queen Mother and so on. The former Comptroller, Sir Malcolm Ross, also proposed that plans for the funeral of ex-prime minister Margaret Tatcher should be codenamed 'Iron Bridge'. It was vetoed by a very senior police officer who told him: 'Only royals get bridges.'

Kate Middleton Says Queen Elizabeth Was 'Looking Down on Us' When 5 Rainbows Appeared Over Balmoral
Following Queen Elizabeth's death, Kate Middleton is sharing a personal moment. The Princess of Wales, 40, said the royal family felt the late monarch's presence when five rainbows appeared over Balmoral Castle the day after she died while meeting with volunteers and operational staff who helped organize the Queen's committal service on Monday.
"Her Majesty was watching over us," Princess Kate explained. Rainbows have recently broken through the crowds at two other historic UK landmarks. A double rainbow broke through the clouds over Buckingham Palace shortly before Queen Elizabeth's death was announced on September 8.
As the royal family mourns, the new Prince and Princess of Wales made their first public appearance Thursday following the state funeral at Westminster Abbey and committal service at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle, expressing gratitude to those who worked behind the scenes to make the Queen's final televised funeral ritual possible.
The committal drew about 800 people, and the ceremony was more intimate than the state funeral. The pews were packed with some of the people who knew the Queen best—in addition to family members, the congregation included past and present members of the Queen's Household, including members from the private estates.
On Monday evening, Queen Elizabeth was laid to rest alongside Philip, King George VI, Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother and Princess Margaret in the King George VI Memorial Chapel.
The end brought a quiet homecoming for the young woman who was never meant to be a monarch. "She had no desire to see a statue of herself or even have a separate burial chamber within St. George's Chapel," Hardman says in this week's cover story for PEOPLE.

Week 17 Chargers @ Chiefs
With the Chief's win and the Patriots loss to the Dolphins, the Chiefs become the #2 seed in the AFC and will have a first-round bye.
Rumors abound that Chargers veteran QB Philip Rivers will not be returning to the team next year. Rivers, 38, showed he's still loaded for bear (my dad's saying) though when he got into it with Chief's DT Chris Jones after Jones sacked him early in the first quarter.

When your writing is so shit even the Daily Fail trashes it...
"Peter Morgan’s argument is that this is all based on solid fact — except for all the stuff that he has made-up. The idea is that we should swallow the latter on the basis of the former.
As one media expert put it to me last week: ‘The Crown has jumped the shark’ — industry slang for when a series has stretched credibility too far for its own good.
Maybe they’ll throw in a proper shark scene in the next episode. Perhaps we could see Prince Philip wrestling one during the 1970 tour of Australia. Did it really happen? Who cares?" Also known as: The Crown is Trash and Here's All the Reasons I'm Still Bitter Over This One Season Specifically, A Thesis.

I don’t think Anna Pasternak hates Kate, remember that these are supposed journalists who are doing a job. I saw a documentary recently (William and Kate: too good to be true?) where she was one of the talking heads and she said some nice things actually. Doesn’t mean they are devoid of feelings, but sometimes their editors say “write about this” and they do it and project their own opinions and feelings on the piece. And sometimes I think they’re just trying to stir up shit, like I have no doubt that Sarah Vine will have no problem going after Kate again in a few months or years if Kate does something that Vine doesn’t agree with, despite writing glowingly about her the last few weeks.
Or you could be Katie Nichol, who seconds after Huw Edward’s called her an expert said that “two of Philip’s great-grandchildren will be here today” (at the funeral) when she probably meant James and Louise
It’s why I don’t trust any royal experts, except perhaps for Robert Hardman.
