I just....love the idea of Peter walking on water being about grief and faith. It's such a beautiful take.
Because when you experience grief you are yelling about how much faith you have, screaming with rage about it because how could this happen when you have been so faithful?
And then you see the darkness and the sadness and the pain, just like how Peter saw the waves and the wind, and you cry out for the Lord because you're scared he's not there
Andd just when you think you're going to drown, He is there and has been all along and you never want to let go.

The sons are free
When they had come to Capernaum, those who received the temple tax came to Peter and said, "Does your Teacher not pay the temple tax?"
He said, "Yes."
And when he had come into the house, Jesus anticipated him, saying, "What do you think, Simon? From whom do the kings of the earth take customs or taxes, from their sons or from strangers?"
Peter said to Him, "From strangers."
Jesus said to him, "Then the sons are free."
- Matthew 17:24-26 NKJV (1982)

People shipping Judas and Jesus together, I get that, but just think of the amount of loopholes Peter is constantly jumping through when it comes to Jesus. It totally makes sense that he would be in denial of his love for Jesus.
"He's the Messiah!" "What will the others think?" "If the Pharisees crucify him how will that reflect onto me?"
The amount of pining potential this has is amazing and it's probably my favourite ship for Jesus.

This feast celebrates the dedications of two of the four major basilicas of Rome.
Saint Peter’s Basilica was originally built in 323 by the emperor Constantine.
The basilica was constructed over the tomb of Peter the Apostle, the Church’s first Pope.
After standing for more than a thousand years, Pope Julius II ordered the building to be torn down due to structural concerns.
The construction of the new church spanned over 200 years before its completion.
It was dedicated on 18 November 1626. It is considered the most famous church in Christendom.
Saint Paul's Basilica is located outside the original walls of Rome. It was also originally built by the emperor Constantine though it was destroyed by fire in 1823. Donations from around the world made the reconstruction possible.
Before the completion of Saint Peter's Basilica, Saint Paul's was the largest church in Rome.
The Basilica was built over St. Paul´s grave.
Pope Pius IX consecrated the Basilica in 1854.
These two churches continue to draw millions of faithful pilgrims each year as well as many visitors from other faiths.

Eastern Orthodox Shark Week.
JOKE-OGRAPHY: This comic features a famous episode from the Bible where Jesus walks on water to get to His disciples' boat, which is stuck in a storm.  In this cartoon, however, Jesus is accompanied by a new disciple, a megalodon (giant shark) named Mary.  He calls her "Mary Megalodon," which sounds like "Mary Magdalene," another of Jesus's loyal disciples (the woman who's stowed away in the last panel).  Mary Megalodon is not actually in the canonical books of the Bible.

Peter denies knowing Jesus
Then seizing him, they led him away and took him into the house of the high priest. Peter followed at a distance. And when some there had kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard and had sat down together, Peter sat down with them.
A servant girl saw him seated there in the firelight. She looked closely at him and said, “This man was with him.”
But he denied it. “Woman, I don’t know him,” he said.
A little later someone else saw him and said, “You also are one of them.”
“Man, I am not!” Peter replied.
About an hour later another asserted, “Certainly this fellow was with him, for he is a Galilean.”
Peter replied, “Man, I don’t know what you’re talking about!”
Just as he was speaking, the rooster crowed. The Lord turned and looked straight at Peter. Then Peter remembered the word the Lord had spoken to him: “Before the rooster crows today, you will disown me three times.” And he went outside and wept bitterly.
- Luke 22:54-62 NIV (2011)

[While searching for Mary in Jericho]
Matthew: We’re having a “moment” aren’t we?
Simon Peter: If by a moment you mean me not wanting to strangle you for the first time since we met, then I guess so.
