BMO would be so cute as a Humanoid Giant Robot based on Dazzen's Desing.

Tumblr media
Imagine BMO as a cute humanoid giant gender-bent gaming console that is super friendly and helps out citizens of Ooo.
I think BMO will be 12", but gain some glitch that makes her 120' or ten times their height.
A cute yet weird robot that is amassed at its growth spurt.
BMO would have a chill work through the woods of Ooo while trying to be gentle toward its friends.
BMO would be a big gaming robot. :3
BMO would be joined by Finn the Human and Jake the Dog. Their brothers.
I need more giant BMO cuteness, plz!

Pre-Order an Updated version of “Exploring the Land of Ooo”!
In 2020, I released Exploring the Land of Ooo, which took a behind-the-scenes approach to Adventure Time by detailing its complex production history. The book was (at least for me!) a smash success, and the University Press of Mississippi soon agreed to re-release it. And so, I whipped up some more content, conducted more interviews, and produced an updated version.
I’m excited to announce that this version is finally available for pre-order! Here’s the cover:
Tumblr media
Here’s the description:
Exploring the Land of Ooo: An Unofficial Overview and Production History of Cartoon Network’s "Adventure Time" is a guide through the colorful and exuberant animated television series that initially aired from 2010 to 2018. Created by visionary artist Pendleton Ward, the series was groundbreaking and is credited by many with heralding in a new golden age of animation. Known for its distinct sense of humor, bold aesthetic choices, and memorable characters, Adventure Time has amassed a fan-following of teenagers and young adults in addition to children. Popularly and critically acclaimed, the show netted three Annie awards, eight Emmys, and a coveted Peabody.
In this thorough overview, author Paul A. Thomas explores the nuances of Adventure Time’s characters, production history, ancillary media, and vibrant fandom. Based in part on interviews with dozens of the creative individuals who made the show possible, the volume comprises a captivating mix of oral history and primary source analysis. With fresh insight, the book considers the show’s guest-directed episodes, outlines its most famous songs, and explores how its characters were created and cast. Written for fans and scholars alike, Exploring the Land of Ooo ensures that, when it comes to Adventure Time, the fun truly will never end.
And here’s what some cool people have said about it:
As thorough and comprehensive an account of Adventure Time as one could possibly hope for. I’m grateful for and flattered by all the care that Paul A. Thomas put into this work.—Tom Herpich
"Pen Ward’s Adventure Time is just the sort of bellwether series that deserves the thorough and thoughtful historical accounting Thomas has given us here. I love it (but I still freaking hate Trudy).—Eric Homan
Exploring the Land of Ooo is a wonderful book offering an extremely engaging and thorough production history of the popular show Adventure Time.—Paul Booth
Fascinating revelations from the world’s foremost scholar of Ooo.—Casey James Basichis
Pre-order a copy today through UP Mississippi’s website here: https://www.upress.state.ms.us/Books/E/Exploring-the-Land-of-Ooo

Just finished watching Bee and PuppyCat: Lazy in Space!
Seriously, there NEED to be more remakes! Cartoon Hangover may still suck on some levels, but if they continue this, maybe this YouTube channel will come back as a TV network!
Don't know what I mean by Cartoon Hangover as a TV network? Trust me, if this TV network definitely has all of the cartoons from Cartoon Hangover (along with the exception of Fin Punch), you remember the same shows they used to have on that YouTube channel.
This remake of Bee and PuppyCat was just so perfect. If only Cartoon Hangover could just do more and more remakes, like Bravest Warriors and Super Fuckers (though if Super Fuckers was solely remade, it would be called “Super Fuckers Forever” based on the comic book with the same name).
Because if that happens, then @cartoonhangover has a chance to redeem itself.
Also, happy early birthday, @fredseibert 💖✨

That Milt Khal appreciation post reminded me of [this article] I read, years and years ago(peep the upload date), that serves as a guide of sorts to how to point out which animator was at the helm for a storyboard for "The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack". "Flapjack" was one of my favorite shows at the time, primarily because of the art style, and coming across this article helped me fall that much deeper in love with it.
(Aside: these are screenshots of the article because the link leads you to Pop-Up Hell lol)
But it's distinguishments like these that 1. inspire me to continue craving collaborative art and 2. are a great example of why the best animation cannot be made with an algorithm. I know that puppet-rigs like ToonBoom are cost-effective and good at simplifying the "task" of animating(the first mistake was treating art like a task, but that's a rant for another day), but it's so damn limiting. The potential for showing personality and life in your characters is shrunk considerably, and what's even worse, your artistic eye and hand are robbed of their personality. Fifty people working on the same program, picking from the same set of frames for mouths and eyes and hand positions to just flicker between, is (at least to me) not nearly as aesthetically-pleasing as what's going on in those pics up top.
Tumblr media
Look at these wiggly-ass proportions! I love it!
This isn't to shame any individual artist who does use ToonBoom, btw. I'm directing this complaint more towards animation companies who have all the money in the world to spend on more traditional animation and actively decide to throw all that art into a machine instead. And also, this is just entirely the opinion of one schmuck: I would rather any proportional errors be born of a manual drawing oversight than a mistake in plugging in the right code any day of the week, but for all I know I could be the odd one out. I just like seeing people's personal flourishes being visible in their work, and not completely homogenized into the Animation Singularity to the point where certain parodies can be made aesthetically indistinguishable from the original work.
idk, dude. I just wanna see some more head-swaggles.

ok but i’m thinking about dark!stepbro!rafe who finds out ward has been assaulting reader when he sees his dad hit her in front of him one day. so naturally he’s so mad he actually beats up his father, but now he’s also intrigued…sure, it’s pretty sick of him to think of having sex with his step-sister, but you weren’t blood, and you clearly weren’t past finding attractiveness in someone you were related to… it makes rafe want to give you a go too. take his turn with his little sister, gaining more power over his father and also feeling justified in his urges bc he basically saved you from ward… 😫
