Day 6 Prompt: "I can't wait for you."
Requested: Yes by @flowers-and-fichte! Hope you like it!
Summary: Summary: Peggy and her bestie are having a much-needed night out on the town.
Word Count: 1,520
Category: Fluff
Putting work into an AI program without permission is illegal. You do not have my permission. Do not do it.
"Peggy, come on!" I shouted, hammering on the door of her apartment at the Griffith. "I can't wait for you, let's go!"
"Don't you have to wait for me?" I heard her voice call from inside. A second later, the door opened, Peggy grinning at me with her hair, makeup, and outfit done to perfection. "Unless you intend to go dancing and drinking alone."
I crossed my arms and huffed. "I'll go get Angie. She'd be willing to come. And I get the feeling she wouldn't be intentionally slow in getting ready to avoid going out on the town."
Peggy sighed, stepping back from the door long enough to grab her purse before finally joining me completely in the hallway.
"We both know Angie's busy, otherwise she'd be coming with us right now."
"I probably could've gone to the Automat, gotten her out of her shift, and gotten to the club in the time it took you to get ready."
Peggy just shook her head with a small smile as she locked her door and the two of us finally headed out. After months of stress and work at the SSR, especially as the only two female agents, I'd decided Peggy and I needed a night out. Little miss workaholic hadn't been particularly on board, and she'd been dragging her feet the whole time, but I wasn't about to let that stop me. Now, finally, I'd officially managed to get her out of the house.
"So, where to?" asked Peggy, tightening her coat a little as we stepped into the cool night air.
"Sousa told me about a place he likes last week," I said. "We're going to go see whether or not he's got good taste."
Peggy gave a noncommittal grunt as I stepped out into the street and hailed a taxi. We climbed in and I gave our driver the address, then settled into the back seat with Peggy.
A few minutes into the ride, I caught her eyes scanning our surroundings as we drove. I sighed loudly and rolled my eyes before fixing Peggy with a look.
"What?" she demanded.
"Seriously? You're canvassing and scanning for threats. You need to cut that out right now. We're supposed to be having a fun, relaxing night on the town, we can't do that if you're constantly looking for threats to take down and improvised weapons to take them down with."
She huffed a sigh, breaking her vigilant scan to meet my eyes.
"I'm sorry. I know. It's just... we've been on red alert for months. It's a little hard to turn it off, isn't it?"
"I know what you mean. But you've got to try, Peggy. We're both going to go completely crazy if we don't take a little break now and then."
She hummed her agreement as she turned back to looking out the window, this time with less of an agent's edge. I smiled to myself. At least it was progress.
A few minutes later, the cab pulled up outside of a swanky-looking club, people smiling and chatting in incredible outfits outside. Peggy and I stepped out, and I was happy to say, we fit right in.
We got a few appreciative looks as we headed into the club shoulder to shoulder, to find the place absolutely swinging. People swirled around the dancefloor, the music boomed from the live band across the room, and people were laughing and chatting at tables all across the bar. I smiled.
"Well, what should we do first?" I asked, leaning in towards Peggy and raising my voice a little to be heard over the noise. "Drinks, dancing, or finding a place to sit?"
"Drinks," Peggy called back. "And then dancing."
"Yes ma'am!"
I started off through the crowd in the direction of the bar, holding one hand behind my back for Peggy to take if she needed it to keep from getting separated. I couldn't help moving to the beat a little as we snaked through the crowd, bobbing my head and smiling at everyone else. When we made it to the bar and Peggy stepped up next to me, I was happy to find her with a smile on her face, too.
"First round's on me!" I said. "What're you drinking?"
"Jim Beam," she said. "On the rocks."
I scoffed and rolled my eyes, even as I flagged down the bartender. "You're very predictable, Peggy. Next time, I'm gonna get you to try one of the signature drinks with me."
Peggy snorted, but I ignored her as I placed our orders. A moment later, our drinks arrived, and I raised mine in toast as I turned more fully to face my friend.
"To us!" I said, yelling a bit to be heard over the noise. "The two best agents the SSR could've asked for, no matter what any of those idiots in the office might say, and to getting a well-deserved night to have fun!"
Peggy smiled, and we clinked our glasses together, locking eyes before taking a small sip. Peggy sighed and leaned back against the bar, surveying the crowd before us.
"Thank you for dragging me out tonight," she said. I grinned, leaning against the bar next to her. "I don't know how I managed to keep from going insane in that office before you came along, but I'm so happy we can face things together now."
"Me too, Peg. Me too."
We stood together in comfortable silence for a few moments, sipping our drinks and enjoying watching the crowds and taking in the music. Finally, I sighed and set my mostly-empty glass on the bar behind me, then turned to Peggy.
"Alright, Peg. I don't know about you, but I think it's time to dance."
The corner of her mouth quirked up, and she set her glass down next to mine.
"I'd say I agree."
I grinned, then took her hand and dragged her out onto the dancefloor with me. She followed along, laughing, and we wove our way through the crowd until we found a good dance space. As soon as we found it, we faced each other and held hands, taking turns spinning each other around and dancing like maniacs to the beat.
I laughed as Peggy spun me, poorly, and I almost went knocking into a couple dancing next to us. They looked to be here on a date, and gave Peggy and I a dirty look, but we ignored them.
"Are you trying to go bowling for the people around us?" I called, laughing over the music as I came back towards Peggy and spun her out and away from me next. She laughed too, a carefree smile on her face that I hadn't seen in far too long.
"Maybe! Or maybe I'm trying to keep your reflexes sharp."
"Oh gee, thanks," I scoffed, rolling my eyes as we launched into the lindy hop. "Really Peg, I appreciate it."
"Good! You can repay me by doing my filing tomorrow."
I threw my head back and laughed, and after a minute, Peggy joined in. We lost track of time whirling across the floor together, both of us putting unique spins on the dances, since neither of us were very used to dancing the guy's part. We had more fun as a result, and while a few people shot us judgey looks as we flew across the floor, most people just smiled good-naturedly at the fun we were clearly having.
Once we both started sweating enough, we stumbled off the floor together, massive grins dominating both our faces. Peggy took a detour to the bar while I found us a table in the back to rest and catch our breath for a few moments, scanning the crowd again as I did. Sousa had absolutely hit it out of the park with this recommendation.
"Two waters, and two signature cocktails," Peggy announced, setting the drinks down before sliding into the booth with me. I smiled.
"Thanks, Peg. Cheers."
We toasted, then settled in together, laughing and talking the night away as we observed everyone around us. We made a few more trips to the dancefloor, spinning around with the same reckless abandon as when we'd started, and when we finally piled into a cab a little after one in the morning, we both knew the judgey looks from Ms. Fry would be worth it.
"We really need to do this more often," I mused, stumbling down the hallway with my shoes in one hand, my bed calling to me. Still, I paused with Peggy outside her door as she took out her keys.
"I actually think I agree with you," she said, shooting me a smile. "I haven't had fun like that since before the war. And maybe not even then."
"Likewise. We'll have to tell Sousa his recommendation was fantastic."
"That we will. But not until Monday. For once in my life, I'm going to do absolutely nothing tomorrow."
I grinned. "I support you in that, Peggy. In fact, I support you so much, I think I'll join you in solidarity."
We shared beaming smiles, then both disappeared into our own apartments. I immediately fell into bed, not bothering to change, a smile on my face. Sometimes, you just really needed a girls' night.

in the shadows | 1 |
a/n: look…ik this isn’t a request or part of any of my series’s but…i just couldn’t not write this idea that burst into my head in my genetics course alright?? (Ik what you’re thinking ‘oh great another series for her to abandon’ lol, ive never abandoned a series I’m just extremely slow and self conscious about my writing
word count: 1.4k
warning(s): author recently got over her extreme dislike for steve rogers so if anything feels forced it probably is - timeline might not make sense but whatever its my timeline now - nazis (WWII) - canon death - reader burns someone alive but its a nazi so its fine - this is literally like if Y/N was in every movie and participated in the plot - not explicitly stated in this part but reader is the mythological inspiration for the devil, bc I’m extra - slow? - lots of time jumps I’m sorry - i do not remember much of CA:FA soooo - Y/N is an eternal but they are not explicitly mentioned in this chapter
prompt: while the others separated after the supposed defeat of the Deviants, you immersed yourself into the world, it’s people, it’s culture. you love earth and would do anything to defend it but the celestials stand in your way. this is the story of how, in the shadows, you were the driving force protecting the world. (I’m sorry if this prompt is confusing - I couldn’t quite gather my thoughts)

Across the room, you gave Erskine a questioning stare. The scientist was looking at a clipboard, his brows furrowed together in a way that indicated the wheels of his mind were turning rapidly. Brushing off the soldier that was so boldly flirting with you, you made your way towards your friend, startling him once you came to look over his shoulder. Your eyebrows shot up at the list you read, every imaginable disqualifier for the military written in harsh black ink.
“This is a joke, right?”
Admittedly, your voice was hard, weighed down with the exhaustion of the war, tired of each candidate you presented being dismissed. Erskine sighed, looking at you with a similar exhausted expression but his eyes held hope.
“He has proven to be a good man, a perfect candidate!”
You raised a singular eyebrow, pressing your pointer finger down on the picture paper clipped to the file.
“He looks like a gust of wind could knock him over. I could take him with one arm tied behind my back, blindfolded, and walking on a tight rope.”
You watched as the scientist held back a smirk, determined not to encourage your words.
“Y/N, my dear, we both know you could do exactly that with any competitor.”
You shrugged, nodding your head in agreement. Still, you took the clipboard from him, looking over the file hesitantly.
“So, why is this boy the one?”
Erskine’s eyes lit up.
“Besides the determination and strength I see in him, he also exhibits selflessness. Today, he jumped onto a false grenade to protect his squad, not knowing it was a faux.”
Blinking, you gave your old friend a blank stare.
“So, your grand idea is to give this boy super serum…instead of therapy?”
Erskine made to argue but you held up a hand, passing him back the file.
“Aside from the asthma and the heart palpitations, you just said he jumped onto an actual bomb. I’ll approve of your selection, Abe, because we are running out of time, but let me speak with him first.”
Erskine sighed, nodding his head.
“Fine, but be quick, the General wants the demonstration soon.”
As he walked away, you leaned against the wall, flexing your hands in an attempt to calm your nerves. This had to work. Setting your shoulders, you adjusted your blouse and slacks before setting off to the medical room where Erskine’s candidate waited. You pulled back the curtain, shooing away the doctor inside with a look. The boy looked even thinner in person, you took into account, before smiling and holding out your hand. He took it with slight hesitation, confusion sparkling in his blue eyes.
“Is everything alright, ma’am? The doctor told me I could be released to my barracks before tomorrow.”
You nodded, apparently calming the nerves of the man as he relaxed slightly.
“I only have a few questions, then you’re ready to go Mr. Rogers.”
——
Peggy smiled at you as you took your place beside her, surrounded by a variety of military men. She grasped your hand tightly before clasping her hands together.
“This’ll work right?”
She spoke through her smile, voice hushed. You nodded reassuringly, resting a hand on her shoulder.
“It better but don’t worry, Steve is completely safe.”
Peggy sighed and the experiment started.
The next few moments were ingrained in your mind forever. The serum working, revealing a completely changed Steve Rogers. Howards excited cheer, Peggy’s blush as she ‘examined’ the man, Erskine’s proud expression.
Then came the explosion, the gunshots. Erskine falling to the ground, blood staining his shirt. Steve being the last person he saw. Steve looking over at you, almost gasping at the fire he saw in your eyes. You nodded, your silent permission setting off the soldier as he ran after the HYDRA agent, anger and grief fueling his pace. You knelt next to your friend, silent tears streaming down your face, grief coursing through your veins. This wasn’t the first loss you’d experienced, 7,000 years of being on this planet meant thousands of funerals, thousands of heartbreak. But no matter how many, each death chipped away your control, threatening to release the celestial power residing within you.
—-
Steven Grant Rogers was an idiot. A complete and utter dimwit. No brain cell in sight. Absolutely none. And you made sure he knew.
“You’re an idiot.”
You hissed into his ear as you felt the plane rattle in the air. You heard Peggy’s muffled laugh and let yourself smirk a bit before returning to glare at the super soldier.
“I’m an idiot for wanting to save my best friend?”
Damn him.
“Oh shut up. You’re an idiot for going into an active war zone, against orders, barely any training or experience under your belt, and wearing a helmet meant for a showgirl.”
Steve had the decency to look slightly embarrassed before raising a cocky eyebrow and turning to face your fiery gaze.
“You came with me though.”
He sounded like he had won the argument, a small smile on his face. Rolling your eyes, you scoffed.
“To keep your stupid ass from dying. Howard, we’re almost there.” You halted your insult to inform the pilot, your senses sharpening as the plane crossed into enemy territory.
—-
You were sick of this war, sick of these monsters parading as men, sick of their stupid symbol, sick, sick, sick.
Steve had saved Bucky.
Bucky had died.
Steve and the Commandos were inside the headquarters of the Skull, each fighting their own battle. The Captain was against the Red Skull and you weren’t there to help, to protect. Instead, you were stuck fending off these pests that continued to fire their guns at you, no matter how little damage the bullets seemed to cause. One soldier seemed to grow balls, flipping his gun around to make it more of a baton. Yelling, he charged at you, swinging his weapon. The wood and metal splintered, shattering towards the ground. In a split second, you had him on his knees, hand on his throat. All bullets shot at you suspended in the air, creating some sense of a shield. Your grip tightened as you watched the soldier fumble for breath. Cocking your head to the side, you let the fire return to your eyes, the flames igniting the fear of the doomed man.
“sie Teufel!” He gasped out, lips rapidly chapping as the heat radiating from your body over took him. You let the fire running through your veins be released, swirling around the nazi soldier in a hellish cloak. His screams shocked his comrades, the smell of his burning flesh radiating through the air. When his burnt bones crumpled, the ash fell through your fingers and you turned towards the remaining men. As they slowly stepped backwards, prepared to run, your celestial energy burst from you, disintegrating any life form in its way.
Sighing, you reeled your power back in. As you walked towards the compound, you felt dread settle in your stomach. Something had happened, you could feel it in the air. You ran until you found Peggy, tears running down her face as she sobbed into a radio. When she looked up, you sagged against the doorway, closing your eyes.
He was gone. You had failed.
—-
~70 YEARS LATER
It wasn’t everyday you got a text from the Director of SHEILD while having lunch with the worlds most famous man. Sighing, you opened your phone, prepared to see a failed mission report to find Natasha’s sister. But what it said shocked you, causing the fork to fall out of your hand and clatter onto the plate. Tony startled a bit, looking at you above his sunglasses. Pepper and Rhodes also paused, sending you concerned looks. You swallowed, your potstickers losing their flavor. When Tony’s eyes met yours, you sent him a quiet apology, excusing yourself from the table.
“They found him.”
You had tried to explain all the problems with room Steve would wake up in, but you found your words dismissed. Fury sent you an apologetic glance as the two of you made your way through the crowded streets of New York City, chasing after a solider from another time. Nick was the first to speak with him, standing silent as Steve mourned his lost date. When he turned back around, however, you had made yourself known, coming to stand next to the Director.
“Y/N?”
“It’s about damn time, Rogers. Did you have a nice nap?”
a/n: look, ik this wasn’t the greatest fic i’ve ever written but I’m just proud of myself for actually writing something. i’m going to continue this series bc i just feel like its personal for some reason. Next part will be explaining Y/N’s relationship with Tony Stark and the IronFam!!

but she’s my best friend
Tumblr media
Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw x f!reader
you and rooster have been friends for years. growing closer over your summers spent with your aunt penny. over time, your feelings develop past platonic, but rooster doesn't seem to notice...that is until he notices another guy interested in you and he goes crazy.
t/w: mentions of alcohol, jealous rooster, I think that's all.
“Honey, I think that spot is plenty clean,” your Aunt Penny says, taking the hand towel from you.
Your best friend, Bradley ‘Rooster’ Bradshaw, just came in from the beach with Hangman and Coyote. His denim shorts are slung low on his hips, and he's got an open Hawaiian shirt draped on his shoulders. No shirt underneath. Glistening with sweat.
“Pretty soon, everyone is going to stop buying that ‘just friends’ shit,” Penny giggles.
This finally gets your attention, pulling your eyes from undressing your so-called best friends.
Friends can appreciate when the other looks good, right?
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” you grumble, taking the towel back from her, tucking it into your back pocket.
Before she can add anything, the man himself stalks up to the bar.
“Barkeep! I need something to cool me off!” Rooster slams his hand down on the bar, his eyes sparkling with laughter. You meet his smile with one of your own.
“Careful, Roos, you don’t want to be caught disrespectin’ a lady. Aunt P has been itching to ring that bell all day.”
Rooster leans over the bar, giving you a sweaty kiss on the cheek. “I’d never disrespect you, boo.” He’s called you that for years, and every time is makes you melt a little.
Shaking your head at him, you pop the tab on his beer and slide it over to him. He brings the bottle to his lips, and you have to distract yourself with an imaginary smudge on the bar to keep the thoughts of his lips on yours at bay.
You and Rooster have been thick as thieves ever since your pseudo Uncle Maverick introduced the two of you during your first summer break here in Fightertown USA. It’s hard to pinpoint exactly when your feelings developed past platonic. It wasn’t like you saw him often growing up. Just over the summer until you graduated high school, and moved in with Peggy and Amelia. Maybe it was the way he always made sure to stay in touch. Or the way he hugged you real tight before leaving for a mission. Always whispering in your ear that he would be safe and see you soon.
Rooster throws you a wink, and saunters over to Hangman and Coyote. Just as Hangman let go of the dart he was aiming with, Rooster smacked it out of the air, earning a “Fuck you” from Hangman.
“Yeah, just friends my ass,” Penny shakes her head, counting bills out in her hands.
~
Rooster has been watching you all night. After your shift, you briefly left the bar, and came back an hour later dressed to fucking kill. A red, oversized dress hung off one shoulder, and Rooster has always loved when you wear red. He thought it made your Y/EC pop.
You paired the dress with your signature sneakers, and Rooster was having a hard time concentrating on his conversation with Bob and Phoenix.
You throw your head back in laughter at something the guy who’s been chatting you up says. When you lean forward, your arm landing on his, Rooster is up on his feet.
“Yo, Roos, what’s up?” Phoenix says, taken aback at his abruptness. Rooster doesn't say anything, but his jaw tightens as he looks at the guy. Phoenix’s eyes move toward you and realization hits her.
The guys leans down to your ear, whispering something that makes your face flush. His eyes dart toward the door, and consideration settles in your eyes. His stomach drops, as he watches that guy’s hand settle on your waist.
Why aren’t you shaking off that touch?
“What is she doing?” Rooster whispers to himself. He’s never known you to go home with any of the bar patrons before. You’ve always been close to his side, a constant, pleasant presence.
His best friend.
What’s this guy have that Rooster doesn't?
Mixed emotions rush through his head, and it almost makes him crazy. He’s never felt this possession over you until tonight. No one has ever made him feel like he needed to compete.
Not even Hangman.
No, even Jake has kept his distance from you. And Jake isn’t one to back down from a pretty girl.
You were absolutely a pretty girl.
Rooster turns to Phoenix, and she gives him a smile.
“What’s happening?” he asks no one in particular.
Phoenix nudges Bob, “He’s finally realized.”
Confusion pulls Rooster’s brows together. “Realized what?”
“Come on, man. You’re in love with Y/N. You always have been,” she gestures to you, still talking with that guy. He hadn’t gotten you outside yet.
“But she’s my best friend,” Rooster says to himself, like he’s trying to reason with what is happening. 600 different emotions run through his head, but the only thing he can grasp is that there is no way he can let you leave the bar with that loser.
~
You’ve been stalling for what feels like minutes with Aaron. He was nice enough, a coms guy for the base. Easy enough on the eyes, but he wasn't Rooster. You thought you’d be able to make a decision on giving him a chance or not, but you couldn't make yourself leave with him.
Not when Rooster was staring daggers into the side of your face. Aaron slides you another drink, and you smile a thanks. He pushes his glasses up on his face and looks around the bar. You can tell he’s growing antsy. He only invited you to go onto the beach, where it was a little quieter.
You notice Jake over at the jukebox. Slow Ride plays a few seconds later, and he gives a pointed look to Rooster.
This seems to wake him up, because he’s no longer burning a whole into your cheek, but rather coming over to you. No, more like stalking his way over.
Rooster comes up beside you, his chest heaving against your shoulder. His eyes move toward Aaron, and if looks could kill, Aaron would be Rooster’s first confirmed kill.
“Can I see you outside, Y/N?” Rooster murmurs, his voice strained. The use of your first name catches you off guard, Rooster rarely uses it.
Before you can agree, Rooster has a firm grip around your wrist, pulling you through the crowd.
“What are you thinking?!” he lets out, totally catching you off guard. His breathing is heavy, and you’re so lost as to what is going on. “Do you even know that guy?”
Confusion turns to anger. “What does it matter? I was getting to know him.” You cross your arms over your chest. After this afternoon’s exchange with Rooster, you knew you wouldn't be able to wait around for him forever. After all these years of friendship, if he felt different, he would have told you.
“Yeah, I'd say. I haven't seen you all night.”
What has gotten into him?
“Well, maybe I am sick of following you around like a puppy waiting for something to happen.” You hope your words hit him like you want them to.
They do, because Rooster takes a step back, as if your statement shoved him back.
“But you’re my best friend,” he murmurs more to himself than you.
“I’m afraid that’s all I’m going to be to you, Bradley,” you whisper. Rooster’s eyes shoot over to yours at the use of his name.
“When he put his hand on your waist, I almost lost it,” his voice is strained, like his is wrestling with something going on in his head.
“Roos,” you start, but Rooster stops you. Closing the distance between the two of you, he brings his hands up to your face. You let yourself involuntarily lean into the touch.
“I didn't realize it before tonight. You've always been a constant in my life. No body has ever threatened that before. Seeing you with him made me see red,” he says, his lips a breath from yours. “I don't want to share you with anyone else.”
“I didn't realize I was yours,” you whisper.
“I’m in love with my best friend. I think I always have been,” he says softly. Those brown eyes that you've memorized over many years stare into yours.
Bradley leans down, and closes the space between you. Your brain short circuits for a moment, before you come to. You grab the collar of his silly Hawaiian shirt and pull him closer to you, completely basking in the moment.
“So all I had to do what make you jealous?” you grin when he pulls away.
Rooster rolls his eyes. “Shut up,” he says, pulling you in for another kiss.

Can I place an order for Marvel? If yes: HERE YOU GO. Where the reader is Steve and Natasha's daughter, Tony and Bucky's goddaughter (you can already imagine that) and mainly, she was raised by all the avengers and hidden from the spotlight. Just something pretty fluffy for what her relationship with them would be like 🥺✋
Ohana means family
Paring: Romanogers!Daughter!reader X Avengers(Platonic)
A/n: thank you for the request. This is my first request for the MCU Fandom, hope you enjoy.
Tumblr media
Being the daughter of Captain America and Black Widow is blessing a curse... I'll tell you why.
But first if your the daughter of them I could imagine you having Steve's kind heart and Natasha's temper. Your Godfather Tony always got a kick out of a tiny you getting all angry. And his laughter would only get heavier if you came and started punching his leg for laughing.
Tony would definitely be a second father. He's wanted to be different from his father so he will always show you the love and affection his father didn't show him.
You don't like hearing about Peggy. I think it's because she was almost your dad's love. Natasha never had a problem with hearing Steve talk about her but the woman always left you frustrated just by the sound of her name... You'd never tell your dad this though.
Anyway, being around all theses heros obviously inspired your choice of future work, this scares not only your parents but the whole team.
Sure your mother would teach you how to shoot or Tony will teach you how to build a robot but they all fear the day you'll actually have to use those skills.
Your other Godfather Bucky seems to be the only one with peace about this suprisenly. If you told him you want to be a superhero he'll grien and listen to your reasoning.
There's been times where he'll put toy boxing gloves on your hands and teach you how to punch. Natasha put a stop to it quickly though. One day he was setting on his knees so he was your hight and you kept punching his flesh hand. He wouldn't let you hit his metal hand in fear you'll hurt your self.
Sam would always tease that you have Bucky wrapped around your little finger.
Bucky and Tony always compete to see who can be the coolest Godfather. If one gets you a cool Lego set or dollhouse the other one will get the bigger version. You love Elvis Presley at the time Tony will take you right to Graceland. You want to go you a waterpark Bucky will have you there in a flash before Tony can have the chance.
A down side is you learned how to be independent with your Hero Family. It's not a bad thing and they don't do it intentionally but there's many times you spent at the compound with Pepper and Happy.
But your mom and dad always make it up to you. I wouldn't say your spoiled, but if you ask one of your godfathers nicely(with puppy eyes) you usually get it.
But another down side of being a part of this family is them being extremely over protective. There's been many times you couldn't do something or had to stay indoors for long periods of time because someone was plotting your father's death.
If you do go somewhere one of them is with you. If you want to go to a zoo trip for school one of them is with you. You want to check the mailbox Sam is flying around watching you. And don't even think about going to friends house for a slumber party. Steve and Nat aren't trying to be strick or anything they just always have this sicking feeling something will happen.
On a more positive note... You always have the best time with them. To be honest you never worried about having friends because you had them. You of course have friends your age but you consider the Avengers your Best Friends. Speaking of which Cassie Lang is probably your Best Friend.
Which means the first sleepover you ever had was with Cassie. Since you technically would be with an Avenger it was okay. Tony thought it was dumb to leave you alone with "Thumbelina" but Steve trusts Scott and Nat trusts Hope.
Speaking of which play time is always token to the extreme. You want a nerf gun war, the whole team is involved. You want to build a Lego thing, tony will buy the biggest one. Blanket fort? You don't have to ask Clint and Scott twise.
I think you'll always try and lift Thor's hammer. You've tried but couldn't so one time Thor lifted it with you so you could have the experience.
You love it when Bruce reads to you. If you come up to him with a book he'll drop everything and read to you. It's the only thing that will make him leave the lab immediately. It's calming to him and he always uses different funny voices to make you laugh.
I won't tell anyone but once you got older you had a small crush on Peitro, which didn't set well with most of the men in the compound when Cassie acdently let the cat out of the bag. You've never saw the ironman suit appear so quickly..
I think once you got older the over protectiveness got old. You found it annoying a frustrating at times but in the end you're greatful that you have a group of people that care about you so much.
Be patient with them. They love you and trust you, they just don't trust other people.
Since you can't be on the flighting field you went to medical school and with everyones help(especially from Bruce and Tony) you were able to graduate with a trauma certification and now you work with Dr. Cho in the med bay.
You always hate seeing them beat up from missions but you also love helping Them and other people.
I don't think you and Peter would get along. I don't know why, I just do. I think at one point they tried to get you to go on a date with him but it never happened.
For a little bit I think you had a jealously thing going on and didn't like how close Peter was getting to Tony. Your Godfather noticed this and told you that you'll always be his number one.
Speaking of Starks, your literally the best big sister to Morgan. You two are basically two peas in a pod. And don't even think about messing with her because you will through hands to anyone who's rude to her.
Your basically to her what Tony was to you.
When you get older you do become an Avenger and the elders got over it. You proved you can survive and they couldn't be more proud of you.
This is your family and you couldn't be more thank full. There may have been bumbs mountains along the the way but they'll always be family. And that's forever.

Two weeks have gone by since your argument with Steve. To which you have maintained a professional relationship with him by only addressing him as ‘Captain’, making your interactions were limited and precise.
The rest of the avengers had noticed this, and expressed concern, but you assured them you were okay, and things were better this way.
Lately, most of your time was occupied by training Peter. Fury had put you in charge of him as you were both the same age and he felt that it would be the best way for Peter to be equipped for future missions.
The two of you had become close in the two weeks you spent together, much to Steve’s dismay.
He felt an emptiness within himself that was not there before. It wasn't the same feeling of not having Peggy around. This time it seemed more intense, and it took a toll on him.
You had been in the training facility with Peter, sparring together. You hadn’t noticed Steve and Bucky walk in and make their way towards the gym equipment.
Once Steve saw you, he kept a close eye as you both sparred, all the while forgetting that he was speaking to Bucky.
“Y’know you can’t look at her like that, right?” Bucky asked assessing the way Steve’s eyes kept straying towards you.
“What do you mean?” he asked with furrowed brows.
“The puppy dog eyes which scream ‘I’m sorry’,” Bucky pointed out.
The anger between Steve and Bucky didn’t last long after their argument. Bucky knew that Steve felt something towards you, but he clearly didn’t know how to express it. But Bucky also held your best interest at heart.
Your laughter interrupted Steve from replying. He now turned his entire body towards you, curious as to what you were laughing about. He missed the sound of your laughter.
“Peter, stop!” you giggled as Peter tickled your side to distract you from holding him down.
“Okay, but you gotta admit it’s a good way to disarm someone,” Peter said getting up and holding his hand out for you to take.
“Whatever makes you sleep at night,” you roll your eyes and take his hand as he helps you up.
Peter continued to speak to you, however, you noticed Steve’s gaze directed towards you from over Peters shoulder.
“Hi Bucky,” you waved to him with a smile before your eyes settled on Steve’s.
“Captain,” you nodded in greeting.
Peter had also greeted them, to which Bucky had waved back at the two of you. Though, Steve’s eyes never left yours, just as yours never left his. It was as though you both were having a silent conversation that only you two understood.
Steve’s eyes held sadness and longing. You knew he missed you from the way he would look at you longingly, but every time you felt yourself wanting to forgive him, you remembered his words.
“Y/n… why don’t we get something to eat? I don’t know about you, but I’m hungry,” Peter’s voice brought you back to reality.
You diverted your gaze from Steve to Peter and nodded in acknowledgement to his words.
“Yeah, I’m hungry too,” you said and walked ahead of Peter to exit the training facility.
Steve’s eyes never left your until you were out of sight.
“You either fix whatever is going on, or you can let her go and be happy with someone else,” Bucky stated, knowing his best friend needed to hear those words.
Tumblr media
Within that same week, you found yourself wanting to clean your room and change things up a bit. Which is why you found yourself going through your closet.
Just as you’re about to rearrange everything, your gaze fell upon a familiar pile of clothes. Steve’s shirts which you would wear regularly.
You picked up the pile and pondered on what to do with them. It felt wrong having them now. If you wanted to move on, then you can start by returning any belongings you had of his.
With a deep sigh, you exit your room and make your way towards his while mentally preparing yourself to speak to him.
You knock on his door once, hoping he is there. His door opened after a moment, and he gazed at you curiously. He didn’t expect you to be here, but your unexpected visit didn’t harbor any negative feelings within him.
“Hi,” he said, looking at you from head to toe.
“Hey, uhm… I wanted to return these. I found them as I was cleaning out my closet,” you held them towards him.
He looked to your hands and a look of sadness fell upon his face.
“Y/n… these are yours. They became yours once you started wearing them,”
“I can’t keep these; it doesn’t feel right,” you tell him, hoping that he takes it so you can go back to your room and try to stop thinking about those beautiful eyes staring at you.
“Why doesn’t it feel right?” he folded his hands and leaned against his door frame, eyebrows knitted together in confusion.
“Because it’s not good for me to keep things of the person I’m trying to move on from,” You grew frustrated.
Being alone with Steve still made you nervous and being so close to him and not in his arms was beginning to make you sad all over again.
“Oh,” was all he managed to muster up.
You put the clothes in his barely extended hands and walk away very well knowing his sad eyes were on you the whole time.
He reached out to take the shirts, and briefly brushed his fingers against yours. His heart beating faster by the minute as this was the first time you made physical contact in weeks.
You quickly turned away and walked back to your room, leaving Steve to watch you walk away from him.
Tumblr media
That night, as Steve sat in his room, alone with his thoughts.
He knew he had to let go, he knew he had to move on. The familiar compass lay in his hand, as he fiddled with it between his fingers.
With newfound determination, he left the compound and walked toward a lake that sat on the property.
He opened the compass and looked at the photograph of Peggy. She wasn’t his to have and hold, nor was she his to spend the rest of her life with. Which is why Steve closed the compass and threw it into the water.
This was him moving on.
Tumblr media
Days passed and Steve spent those days thinking of how to apologize to you. Usually at this time of night, he would have you to speak to.
He knew he wasn’t getting any sleep, so he chose to get some water from the kitchen and chose to use his walk there as a way to clear his mind.
The place in darkness along with the distant noise of the TV. Curiously, he made his way to the noise and saw you and Peter sat beside each other with wide eyes, with a blanket covering the both of you.
Steve put the lights on and scared you off the couch, literally. You fell off taking Peter with you.
“Steve, you scared us” Peter laughed and released a sigh of relief.
“Captain,” he corrected.
This had you looking at him funny. Steve noticed your gaze and took this as his moment to make things right.
“If you don’t mind, I’d like to talk to y/n alone,” he said not looking away from you.
Peter was aware of the situation between you two. He was reluctant to leave but you guaranteed him you’d be okay. This had Steve clenching his jaw to not say anything.
Once Peter left Steve came to sit beside you.
“Y/n-…I’m…how are you?” he stuttered.
There was the Steve you knew, with the kind eyes, nervous as you were.
“I’m okay,” you simply said.
“That’s good,”
A silence falls upon the two of you.
You looked into his eyes and saw regret. He has regretted the words so much from that day. The look of hurt on your face forever etched into his mind.
“I want to apologize for the way I spoke to you… It was completely uncalled for. The way I disregarded your feeling was so-… I don’t even know how to explain it,” he clasped your hand in his as he said this.
You took a moment to wrap your mind around his words. You were a forgiving person by nature, but his words cut too deep for you to ignore them. They made you feel like a rebound, second choice and not good enough.
“I’m glad that you apologized… but that doesn’t mean that I forgive you. I’ll see you around Steve.” And with that being said, you left to your room.
Tumblr media
The mission was simple. A company had been trying to duplicate past weapons from Stark Industries. You were to get the companies intel while Peter takes down any guards that come in your way.
Everything was going smoothly until you were trapped in the lab of the company’s facility. Peter had been fighting off nearby guards while you snuck into the information centre. One of the guards saw you and drew his gun, shooting you on your side, just below your waist as you tried to retrieve the USB and duck away from him.
“Y/n?... Y/N!” you heard Peter yell as the guard that shot you fell unconscious. Peter heard the gun shot and ran to your aid.
You laid on the ground blinking up at the ceiling. Everything around seemed silent as you saw a distraught Peter looking from your wound to your face.
“Keep her awake. I’m almost there,” you heard his voice over the comms.
Your eyes felt heavy the more you blinked at Peter who had tears in his eyes.
“It’s gonna be okay. I need you to stay awake, okay?” Peter said, holding your face between his hands.
Peter kept pressure on your wound, which caused you to groan in pain. Although everything was hazy, you still felt the pain.
Time passed by faster than you anticipated, because in moments you felt yourself being hoisted into familiar arms.
“Y/n, sweetheart. I need you to keep your eyes open for me, okay? I want your eyes on me,” Steve demanded as he rushed through the hallways and to the quin jet that Natasha had been piloting.
“Tired,” was all you managed to whisper as Steve got onto the quin jet where Bruce began to work on your wound.
“No. no, you need to stay awake,” he said desperately as he tapped your cheek.
“She’s gonna be okay,” Bruce assured him as you closed your eyes and succumbed to the darkness, but before you could fully lost consciousness, you saw Steve looking at you in concern and worry.

It Won't Last Forever (Chapter 3)
Title: It Won’t Last Forever (Chapter 3)
Type: multi-chapter; father!Hotch x teen!daughter!reader, some bau x teen!reader (platonic!)
Warnings: canon-typical Criminal Minds sadness
POSSIBLE TRIGGER WARNINGS: mentions PTSD
Spoilers: S5 SPOILERS
Notes: The PTSD description is a mix of my own experience and some I read online - this is not how ALL PTSD is experienced.
The Container Exercise is a real thing, one of my past therapists actually walked me through it and i love it
EMDR is an actual method of therapy and it works for some and not for others, it's also very dependent on person and situation; this is taken from my own experience and doesn’t reflect everyone’s
As always, love and/or constructive/friendly criticism is welcome and encouraged!
Word count: 814 (shorter, transition chapter)
“It is worth remembering that the time of greatest gain in terms of wisdom and inner strength is often that of greatest difficulty.” Dalai Lama
When Hotch informed Rossi that Y/n had finally agreed to therapy, the older man told him that he had an old friend who was a licensed therapist and specialized in PTSD. Hotch was grateful for the suggestion. He decided to bring Y/n to work with him so he and Rossi could talk to her about it together.
When they got to the BAU, everyone greeted her, glad she wasn’t as emotionless as the last visit. Hotch then brought her up to his office, keeping the door open.
Y/n pulled some homework out of her bag as her dad began to work at his desk. A light knock came to the door about 30 minutes later, making both Hotchners turn their heads up.
“Hey, Dave,” the older Hotchner greeted and waved him in.
Rossi walked in and patted Y/n’s head, making the girl smile a bit. He sat in the chair next to her.
“What’s going on?” Y/n asked, looking from Rossi to her dad.
“Y/n, I know you’re hesitant about starting therapy. But when I mentioned to Dave that you agreed to it, he mentioned he knows someone that might be a good choice.”
“Dr. Warner is a friend of mine, very good in her field. She specializes in kids dealing with PTSD. We figured you might feel a little better if you’re talking with someone one of us knows.”
Y/n thought it over for a second, gave a half smile, and nodded a bit. “That sounds good. Could you…could you be there too, Dave? For the first time at least?” she asked.
The older man smiled warmly and put an affectionate hand on her cheek. “Of course, bambina.”
Y/n giggled a bit and smiled at the italian nickname only Rossi used for her. “We’ll get you better, kiddo.”
Y/n put her hand on his and smiled. “Thank you.”
Y/n sat in a small waiting area with her dad and Rossi. Her leg bounced up and down wildly as her eyes darted around the room, trying to find something to focus on. She only stilled her leg when her dad put his hand on her knee, catching her attention. Her movement had stopped and she turned to look at him.
“Y/n, it’ll be alright. Dave said Dr. Warner is a nice woman. And therapy goes at your own pace and comfort level. You’ll be just fine. Ok?” Hotch held his palm up and Y/n accepted his hand.
“Ok,” she sighed.
“Y/n Hotchner?” a voice called from the other side of the room.
Hotch ran a comforting hand over her back as she took a shuddery breath and they walked over with Rossi in tow.
The woman led them into a room and shut the door behind everyone. She held her hand out to Y/n first and introduced herself, “I’m Dr. Warner, but you can call me Peggy.” She shook each person’s hand and gave Rossi a small hug as well.
“Thanks for doing this, Peg,” he said warmly.
“Any friend of yours is a friend of mine, Dave. Please, everyone, take a seat anywhere.”
Y/n sat on the couch across from Dr. Warner’s chair and had her dad and Rossi sit on either side of her.
The session started simply with Dr. Warner explaining to them how things would go and taught Y/n a tool for when she was between sessions.
“This is called the Container Exercise,” she explained. “I want you to close your eyes and picture a container. It can be any kind you want. A box, a jar, anything. Think of the shape of it, the color, if there are any designs on it. Do you see it? Now, any time bad memories or feelings come up between our sessions, or you aren’t in a place where you can properly handle them, I want you to imagine putting those memories and feelings inside your container and sealing it until we can talk about them. You can open your eyes now.”
The rest of the session went by rather smoothly as well. They didn’t get too far into specifics about Y/n’s trauma since it was the first session, but Dr. Warner got the basics of what they would be working on. Upon understanding these things, the doctor recommended a technique called “EMDR” which both Hotchners agreed to start for Y/n at the next session.
When the group left, Hotch kissed Y/n’s head before she got into the car. “I’m proud of you, sweety.”
The girl smiled and hugged him. “Thanks, daddy.”
She was on the road to recovery.
“You survived the trauma. Now, you’ll survive the recovery.” Unknown.

A/N: You guys have no idea how happy I am to finally be able to post this. I have had this in my doc for months... thank you for coming to my ted talk
*Was not expecting this to be this long. Definitely a surprise for me
Answers to RWAABDBHH
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You could say it was a bit of a surprise when Pete called. You haven’t heard from him for a few months (after your minor disagreement) and he really needed to speak to you and calling the bar was the only way he could make sure you wouldn’t screen his call... again.
It was just about after the third ring; you pick up the phone. “Hard Deck, bartender speaking.”
He smiles. “Good to hear your voice again, Angel.”
You’re surprised, you didn’t think he’d call the landline ever.
He usually tries not to call the bar as much as possible, not wanting people to butt into your business since your coworkers know what you did before joining the Hard Deck.
You decide to be nice and put in the effort to have a conversation with him. “Finally took a break from the sky’s, did you?”
He chuckles, “you’ve still got that sense of humor. Good.”
You sigh so much for being nice. “What’re planning?”
He lets out a faux noise of offense. “Why do you assume I’m up to no good?”
You scoff through your nose, “I didn’t say that. But now that you mention it, are you?”
He says nothing.
“Goodbye, Maverick.”
“Hang on-” He sighs, staring at the phone. ‘Please don’t hate me.’ He steps back into the room. “Did you speak to her?”
“I did.”
“And?”
“She’ll be here soon.” ‘Don’t hate me, Angel.’
A few hours later…
The lunch rush ends only for the midnight rush to begin, although when you think about it, it’s not actually midnight, but it sounds better than, it’s dark, drink up. And that’s when you stopped letting the other bartenders come up with names.
You turn to call for Eric or Jack to help out with drinks only to find they’re busy taking care of their sections.
Penny calls you over, “can you take care of anyone who comes over here while I go over there?”
“Yeah. Go take care of the customers over there.” You finish making the drinks, keeping the customers satisfied and willing to give a decent tip. You walk over towards Penny, “I’m gonna start cleaning up a bit. Jack’s finishing putting the latest order away in the back and Eric is getting ready to start in the kitchen. We have a few minutes to do some of the “boring” work so we’re doing it when we can.”
She nods, “got it.”
-
A few more show up, the crowd starting to become livelier in your section.
Penny walks over to you and helps you with cleaning the glasses and wiping down the counters after the customers move away and sit at one of the few vacant tables. “I need you to take care of that table over there.”
You nod to Penny, walking away with the drinks for the group of pilots, “be back in five, Peggy Sue.”
She shakes her head, sighing although she has a smile on her face. “Please, just once, use my name.”
You turn to look over your shoulder, whispering “never.” You walk away before she could say anything else.
-
“Here are your-” You happen to glance up and find one of your old friends from school, jabbing a mustached man (with a questionable fashion sense) in the gut, “fuck.”
You hand the last beer to – one of the khakis, as you mumble to yourself, “why?”
When she turns around to grab her drink, her eyes widen at the sight of you.
“Hey, Phoxy. How’ve you been? I’d love to talk but-”
She shakes her head, getting out of her thoughts as she grabs your wrist. “You are not getting out this. We’re talking right now.”
You sigh, feeling yourself being pulled elsewhere. So much for not running into anyone from your past.
She whirls around, facing you. “Where the hell have you been?! What happened to you? You graduated early, got a job at the best pilot school and leave with little to no contact. I mean seriously, what the hell, Wings?”
You glance back at her angry face every so often unable to keep eye contact with her. “I can’t talk to you about this, Natasha.”
“Now, we’re back on a first name basis. Is that what our friendship has gone down to? I thought we were closer than that.”
You sigh, “don’t give me that attitude-”
“I’ll stop giving you attitude when you talk to me.” She finally takes notice of your expression, her’s softens, “what happened?”
You swallow the saliva that’s stuck in your throat. “I can’t talk to you about this right now.”
She opens her mouth to say something else, but you stop her, placing a hand on her forearm.
“It’s a long story and I really don’t think now is a good time to talk about this, okay?” Your hand falls off her arm before you walk away.
She sighs unsure of how to handle the situation. You obviously don’t want to talk about whatever happened and it’s throwing her off. Nothing like this ever happened before and she really doesn’t know how to help you.
-
Jake furrows his brows, after watching you brush her off. A smirk appears across his lips. ‘Interesting.’
Natasha stands beside Bob, absent mindlessly watching the others play pool.
“So,” Jake says, extending of the letter “O”, brings Natasha out of her thoughts.
“What do you want Bagman?”
“What was that about?” He asks, with a mix of a concerning and nosey tone.
“It’s none of your business,” she snaps.
He smiles, “I could easily make it my business, Princess Phoenix. You forget we all went to the same school.”
“I am this close,” she pinches her fingers together. “To getting drunk so I can’t hear your ass.”
“Your fingers are touching,” Bob points out.
“I know.”
Rueben sits beside her with Mickey playing pool against Jake and Bradley playing against Logan. “What do you think happened with her?” asks Reuben.
“I don’t know,” she says, shrugging. “This is the first time I’ve seen her since we were in school together.”
“So, you didn’t hear the rumors.”
“What rumors?” She turns to him with raised brows.
“One of the ones I heard was that she got in a fight and got kicked out.”
“She wouldn’t do that,” Natasha says, defending you. She knows you’re not dumb enough to do anything like that.
Two days later…
Thankfully today the bar opens a little later than usual as you decline Cyclone’s call.
The door opening gets you to pause, you don’t want it to look like you’re on your phone and sigh, tucking the item into your back pocket. Although you didn’t see it, it was only one of the bartenders who does the late shift.
Penny walks over with new rags. “You okay?”
You quickly give her a fake tight-lipped smile. “Peachy.”
“They still trying to bring you back officially.” You shrug, not entirely in the mood to talk about this, as usual.
“I know you don’t want to hear this but you’re good. You are… the only pilot that I like enough to call my friend and I know working here is making you miserable.”
You open your mouth to argue with the classic, “no. I’m happy here.”
She shakes her head, a gentle smile gracing her lips. “Don’t argue with me on this, I know you are and it’s okay. I’m not taking it to heart because being in the sky has been your dream for such a long time and you were miserable when your arm was healing, and you still are because you’re not in the air because that’s where you belong.”
You clench your jaw, the burning sensation in your nose prevents you from answering her.
“What if I’m not the same?”
She tilts her head, trying to understand what you’re saying.
“What if I’ve lost my speed or- or my quick thinking, you know. What if- what if I’m in the air and that’s when they realize that I’m not good enough to be at Top Gun anymore.” You sniff, wiping the corners of your eyes.
“They’d be stupid to let you go.”
“I know you’re just saying that but, thank you.”
She knows you don’t like it when people try to comfort you, but her maternal instincts take over and she pulls you in for a hug and letting you take your time to calm down. “Better?”
“No, you made me talk about my feelings. I’m upset.”
She chuckles, “you’ll have to put those feelings on the back burner because we still have to get ready for tonight.”
“Has anybody cleaned back here yet?” Mark asks.
“Not yet, I’m coming over to help you.” She turns back towards you. “Are you sure you’re gonna be alright?”
“Yep. Get back to work, Pegs.”
The older woman shakes her head.
Four days later...
You were surprised when he tried the Hard Deck’s landline and calling the bar is the only way he can make sure you wouldn’t screen his call... again.
It was just about after the third ring when you pick up the phone. “Hard Deck, bartender speaking.”
He chuckles, “good, you’re still there... how are you?”
“You’re clearly up to something that I’m not gonna like and with how many times Beau has called me, I’m gonna say that it involves Top Gun which I told you and him that I’m not coming back so stop calling me if you’re gonna keep asking about that.”
“I’m- I’m not-”
“Goodbye Maverick.”
You slam the phone done onto the wall receiver before walking away, shaking your head. “Oh... you’re here.” You turn around finding your boss, standing there. “Why do you have that look on your face?”
“What look?” She asks, setting her stuff down in the back office.
“The look you have when you know stuff that involves me or my past,” you pause, searching for the right word. “Job.”
“Well- I mean, there is this one thing.”
“And that thing is?”
“A group of people are coming here today.”
“A group of who people?”
“A teacher and his students.”
“Children students?” You ask, hoping it’s not who you think it is.
She shakes her head.
You groan and drop your head onto the bar top.
Two hours later...
The sound of cars scares you and sends you to “find a broom” in the storage closet.
You hope if you stay inside and hide long enough unit they’re gone so, you won’t have to deal with certain people (playboys or people you typically went to, for “guidance”). But then again, maybe it would be good to see Natasha again and her friends.
You shake your head remembering the two separate times when she was paired with Bradley and then when Mickey and Rueben were put into their little squad... the smile falls from your face when you think about your old squad.
You gulp, having a hard time swallowing the spit that built up in your mouth.
Would it be a good idea if you looked for Penny and told her you weren’t feeling good?
You know it wouldn’t end the way you’d want it to but that doesn’t mean you can’t- the clacking and snapping of flip flops and shoes has you pause. You don’t move as they all pass by.
The sounds of their voices carrying throughout the bar fills you with a mix of sadness but you bite back your tongue because there’s no one else to blame but you; you’re the one who pushed everyone away, you’re the one who didn’t tell anyone the... truth about what happened but that’s the past; all you can do is move on and live whatever life you have.
You still can’t believe you saw her. You knew it was bound to happen at some point and yet, it was still a sucker punch to the gut. And to hear that the reason they’re all here, being taught by the Maverick is for a life-threatening mission and they wanted the best of the best from your generation is still so crazy.
Once you're out of your thoughts, you realize everyone’s moved outside and it’s okay for you to exit the closet now. You don’t find anyone else but Penny, who wipes down the counter. “What’re you doing in here?” You ask, taking careful steps closer to the bar.
“Cleaning before tonight.”
“I can do that,” you offer.
She shakes her head, “no. I couldn’t leave you in here by yourself to clean. I should be doing it.”
“That’s the good thing about having someone who’s ignoring people they knew. They’re very helpful and will clean everything.”
She turns to look at you, “that’s not funny.”
“You’re right, it’s not but you always say you want me to be honest and this is it.” You continue before she could get a word in. “Nope, you deserve to finish your book and check out the eye candy. I’m sure there’s a certain old flame of yours out there that wouldn’t mind you ogling him.”
“Cheeky.”
“It’s called the truth, neither of you can hide your feelings whenever either one of you glances back at the other.”
“You think so?” She asks, sounding so unsure, something you’ve never heard from her before.
“Absolutely.”
A heavy sigh slips past her lips. “Are you sure?”
“I am,” you nod. “Yes. Absolutely. One hundred percent. Please leave.”
The older woman smiles, “okay, okay. I’m going.”
-
All you gotta say is, Pete’s lucky you’re a nice person. No one asked for you to make anyone drinks but you know they’re gonna need something and you know water ain’t gonna cut it right away.
You finish and set the drinks on a tray before heading out the back.
You scoff, watching as the line of boys fall with the playboy raising his arms up in celebration at an “obvious” win. You shake your head at the sight and conveniently, it’s like he sensed someone watching him and looks over in your direction, giving you a cocky wave.
You groan looking away, jumping at the sight of Penny sitting there. “When did you get here?”
“You’re the one who told me to come out here.”
You give her a suspicious look.
“What were you doing out here?”
You throw an arm out, gesturing to the scene in front of you, "watching as they get sand in places sand shouldn't be. I feel bad for them honestly."
She covers her mouth, hiding her laughter, "that's what you're worried about?"
You wrap your arm around her shoulder, leaning your head on hers, "sand is no joke, Peggy Sue."
She shakes her head, "still not my name."
"And, yet you respond to it." You start taking the drinks off the tray, setting them a few inches away from her book, not wanting it to get wet. The last cup, you set down in front of her. "Make sure they drink something."
"Okay, mom.”
"Hey, hey. Dehydration is no joke. Neither is-"
She cuts you off, finishing your sentence, "getting sand in places it shouldn't be."
You nod, "exactly." You take one last look at the group, the happiness you shared with Penny vanishes when you remember the different life you had a year ago. You sigh, shaking your head as you head back inside.
Penny frowns, knowing you miss being a part of the pilot life, even if you don’t want to admit it.
-
You clean a few glasses you missed earlier, preparing for the “midnight” shift. After cleaning the inside of the now, clean glasses you set them up so, they’re ready to go for later. You set the rag down on the bar top, reaching for the phone in your back pocket, annoyed at the person who keeps calling you.
The Godfather Accept □ Decline □
You click the answer button. "I’ve told you once and I’ll tell you again. No. I won’t be in the air anytime soon. Stop calling." You hang up before Beau could say anything else.
“How the hell could he have known to call now?” You groan, realizing what happened, “Maverick. Oh, you son of a-”
The door slams open, putting Penny on high alert.
-
"Mitchell! Hey, Mitchell!" You shout at the man sitting in the stupid lawn chair you just want to- You shove his chest before pointing your finger at him, “you are an absolute idiot! Do you know that?”
“Hey, there’s no need for name calling, Angel.”
“Do NOT use that name with me right now.” You stand a few inches away from him with a clenched jaw. “I told you and everyone else there, I’m done. I’m not going back in the air. I can’t.”
He knows you’re hurting but you can’t keep pushing yourself away from what you’re good at. “You can, you’re just choosing not to.”
“You don’t know what happened and you never will. So, stop trying to force me into coming back.”
“I would but, you’re one of the good ones and anyone would be lucky to have you up in the air with them.”
No one notices the blow up going on in the back as they continue with their game, well, except for Bob who happens to see everything going on.
You bite your tongue, taking a step back. “You don’t get too sweet talk to me into coming back. If I feel I’m ready, you’ll see me in the air.”
“But what if he’s right,” a deep voice says, walking closer to you.
You glance back at your godfather and whirl around to face Maverick once more. “You called him?!”
Now is when he struggles to give you an answer. “I didn’t- this isn’t how I wanted this to happen.”
“But you made it happen.”
“He didn’t.” Beau stands beside you. “I did. You know you’re good, and being in the air is where you belong. You know it, I know it, your parents knew it when you kept asking me about my job when you were seven.”
You turn around, facing him. “If you wanted me to come back so bad, why didn’t you come to me yourself?”
“I did-”
You shake your head, “no, calling is completely different than you coming to me and talking to me.”
“It’s hard to do that when one of you won’t talk about what happened.”
-
A young girl runs out the back door.
You turn at the sound of a child calling screaming your name, just in time as the short body tumbles into you. “Hey kiddo.” You pull back, bending down Delilah doesn’t have to stare up at you.
“Hi,” she says, giving you a wide smile with her gap in her front bottom teeth that always gets you to smile.
“How was school?”
“Boring but, I did good on my spelling test.”
You give her a high five, “awesome. See all that studying does pay off.”
She groans, “I know. Can we go swimming now?”
You nod, “I gotta change but I’ll be quick, okay?”
She nods.
You glance over your shoulder, talking to Pete, “and don’t break her heart again. She’s good for you and your, sort of, good for her.”
He nods.
“Come on, Del. We gotta get ready for some fun!” You bend down, lifting her over your shoulder.
Delilah squeals, giggling while you walk back towards the table.
Penny looks up from her book, “you want me to watch her while you change?”
You nod, “please?”
“Of course, but you gotta put her down first.”
You set Delilah on the edge of the table, helping her hop down so she can sit beside Penny. You stare at the sand while walking back, the phantom pain in your shoulder returns.
You hold your arm against your stomach, using your non dominant hand to open the door.
-
Beau watches as you walk away, noticing how you’ve closed yourself off like you did when your parents died.
-
“What was that about?” Bob asks Natasha when she sits down beside him at the table, reaching for one of the glasses. She shrugs, “I don’t know. Maybe we should-”
“That’s not a good idea,” Penny interrupts.
“Why?” Natasha asks.
“She’s-” she glances down at a distracted Delilah, “uh- she's still working through some things.”
The younger woman doesn’t say much after that.
-
You stand in front of the bathroom mirror, staring at your shoulder.
You still remember what the asshole did to you, you may not remember the sounds, but you certainly remember the hand hitting your ribs, forcing you off the ladder.
You slam onto the ground. The pain radiating in your shoulder, you couldn’t move it and you knew for a fact, it wasn’t good.
The ladder fell on your calf, fracturing your tibia. And to top it all off, the asshole had the audacity to laugh as he knelt beside your head; his hand clamped on your chin, forcing you took look at him.
You don’t remember how you got out of there.
You don’t realize you’re hyperventilating until your body forces you to take quick, unsteady breaths.
Jake walks in with a smirk, expecting to find you around somewhere, hoping to talk to you (partly to piss off Natasha and to see what’s got you so frazzled, you’ve never acted like this before).
All and any humor fall from his face when he realizes you’re crying. He stands beside you, placing a hand on your arm.
You jerk back, tripping over your foot.
He’s quick to hold onto you, forcing you to stand up before you could fall.
You can feel his hand on your cheek and know he’s asking you questions but you can’t get enough air into your system to reply.
Jake wraps his arms around you, pressing you against him; he wraps one of your arms around his neck, the other flush against your waist. He hugs you. “It’s okay. It’s okay.”
You close your eyes, trying to calm down. The tears roll down your cheeks faster than you would like but, Jake says nothing about it and continues to comfort you.
You move your arm off you, wrapping it around his lower back, clenching his shirt in your shaky fist. You’ve calmed down enough to realize, Jake, the infamous flirty playboy is whispering comforting things in your ear.
Your head rests two inches from the crook of his neck.
“How are you feeling?”
You sniff, “fine.”
“You okay enough to let go of my shirt?”
There it is. You give him one last squeeze before pulling away from him. You look up, wiping your cheeks, “how’s it feel?”
“How does what feel?” He asks, pulling a paper towel out of the dispenser, wetting it in the sink.
“Not being the reason, a woman cries.”
“What makes you say that?” He cups the back of your neck, wiping your cheeks to get rid of the wet mascara streaks.
“You say you bring all your hookups to tears.”
The corner of his lips tugs upwards. “I knew you were listening to me.”
Your roll your eyes, “yeah, because you take up half of my section.”
“Maybe it’s because I want your eyes on me.”
You shake your head, taking it out of his hand; pushing past him to throw away the wet, black stained paper towel. You reach for another, making sure to get rid of any evidence that you were crying. “Why’re you in here?”
“It’s a bathroom,” he shrugs.
“Then go.”
“I’d rather not.”
“We all use a bathroom.”
He chuckles, “it’s not that.”
“Hookup?”
He shakes his head, “no, not really my scene anymore.”
“Is it because of the mission?”
“Maybe.”
You throw away the paper towel, turning back towards the sink; turning on the faucet to cup cold water in your hands and splash your face. You need a little more energy if you’re going to have a day at the beach with your favorite little girl.
The sink turns off, you assume it was Jake.
You open your eyes, staring down at the drain. Your chest heaves with every breath you take. You shake your hands, reaching up to wipe away the droplets on your chin. “You know,” you start, “I figured while you were here, you’d be waiting until later for some- uh- stress relief.”
“You offering?” He leans against the wall with his arms crossed.
“Yeah,” you look up, staring at him with no emotion.
His smirks drops and he squints his eyes, trying to decipher whether you’re lying. “Really?”
“No.” You snatch a paper towel and pat your face dry. “Seriously, thank you for helping me but- uh- could you not mention this to anyone else?”
“It’s not my place to talk about it. You know that.”
“Still, thank you. You’re oddly good at giving really good hugs.”
He shakes his head, “I can honestly say, no one except you has been the one to tell me that.”
“I’m happy to be the first.”
Your phone buzzes again, you groan, yanking it of your pocket. You don’t even need to see the number before you press the power button, shutting your phone off. “Looks like I have to go back out there.”
“Save my spot?”
“Can’t promise you anything? Does it look like I’ve been crying?”
He steps on front of you, staring into your eyes for a minute.
You’re worried he’s seeing something you don’t see; his stare makes you nervous, butterflies in your belly, the whole nine yards... which worries you because you only ever feel this way when you like someone. Oh crap. You thought those were gone.
He shakes his head, getting out of his thoughts “no, you’re good.”
“You sure?”
“I wouldn’t lie to you.”
You weren’t expecting him to say that. “Okay.” You exit the bathroom, heading for the bar.
-
“You alright? You looked upset back there?” Penny asks.
You nod with a tight lip smile, “I’m good, Peggy Sue.”
“Why don’t you take the night off? You know spend the rest of the day with Delilah.”
“You need help behind here later.”
“I’ve got it, besides Mary, Travis, and Jamie work tonight.”
“Are you sure?”
“You haven’t stopped working since I hired you. Take the night off. You deserve it.”
“Are you really-”
“Yes, I’m sure. You deserve to take the night off.”
-
“You gonna play game with us or not?” Natasha asks, stepping away from the others.
“I mean I could, if it’s alright with you and the others.”
“After we swim though, right?”
You tilt your head at your little sister who holds onto one Mickey’s shoulders. “You’re gonna have to climb off Mick in order for that to happen sweetie.”
“Let me down. Let me down. If I don’t do it now, she won’t go out with me.”
You scoff, “that’s not true.”
“You did it last time.”
“Because you were napping.”
“I was... resting my eyes.”
“Well, then lets’ go before you need to rest your eyes again.”
“Can I come?”
You glance back at the man with a buzzcut. “You want to go back outside? Aren’t you hot?”
“Did someone call me hot?” Jake asks, placing his hand on your lower back, letting you know he’s right behind you.
“No one did, Bagman,” Natasha chimes in.
“I wasn’t talking to you, Princess Phoenix.”
“You’re so nice,” you mumble.”
“Only when it counts, sweetheart. You know that,” he whispers in your ear.
You jerk your arm back, elbowing him in the stomach.
“There’s that spark.” He wheezes out. “I knew you remembered.”
“That’s payback for leaving me out to dry.”
“It was one time.”
“It was four times and each time I wound up saving your ass.”
“We’re going swimming now,” Delilah interrupts, dragging Mickey behind her as Rueben laughs his ass off at the sight of a child dragging his grown friend outside, matching the same pace as her.
“If you two can stop with the flirting, then I can talk to my friend.”
“Not before I do.”
“I thought you left, Maverick,” you say with a curt tone.
“Just let me say what I need to say then I’ll stop trying to explain myself.”
“Fine.” You huff, “follow me.”
-
Natasha glances back at Jake with raised brows. “What?”
“You know what? It didn’t work out the first time. What makes you think it would work again?”
He doesn’t say anything because she’s right, if it didn’t work out the first time, why would anything be different now. “Nothing.”
She takes note of his sad demeanor. “Wait- Jake.”
He walks out before she could apologize.
-
“What do you want, Maverick?”
“You to not call me that.”
He sees the little response he gets out of you and decides not to push it. “Okay, I’m gonna cut to the chase-”
“You’d be wise to.”
He purses his lips at the comment. “Cyclone wants you back because he thinks you’d be able to help show everyone that this mission is possible.”
“No, he doesn’t.”
“Okay, fine. Cyclone wants you back and I think you’d be the better candidate to help me show everyone its possible. I can’t tell you anything about it but, let me finish, I see the look you’re giving me. You can match the speed required for this mission. I know you can. This will be a walk in the park for you.”
“As much as I enjoy you trying to kiss my ass. I’m gonna have to pass.”
You spin around, slamming the door open; your foot hadn’t touched the floor when he asked, “so, you’ll be there tomorrow.”
You step into the doorway, eyes wandering around the bar. ‘Is it really time for me to leave to leave this place?’ “I expect you to keep up with me.”
He lets out a victory chuckle.
-
You shake your head, biting your lip to keep you from smiling. “Pen?”
“You’re covered forever. Let me know when you want to give in your two weeks.”
“Wow! You sound excited to get rid of me.”
“I am because you’re going back to do what you were born to do.”
“Whatever,” you roll your eyes. “I have a current little problem who is probably trying to drown grown men right now.”
“Yeah, please save them before you lose your friends.”
“Not my friends.”
“Fine, your squad!”
You shake your head and smile as you walk out the back door.
-
“Finally.”
“Oh, hush.” You smile, lifting her in your arms.
“Look who joined the party.”
“Oh, Bagman. You joined us.”
He smirks, one eyebrow rising about the frame of his sunglasses. “Who said you could use that nickname?”
“No one but it’s better than anything I could come up with.”
“And she admits it.”
You scoff, setting Delilah back on the ground, letting her run back into the ocean so she and Mickey can have a splash fight.
“Admit it, you’ve missed this.”
You scoff, “I’ve missed nothing about you.”
“See that’s where we beg to differ.”
Natasha groans and drags you away from him, forcing you to sit beside her and Bob. “What’s got you so happy?”
You shrug, “nothing.”
She narrows her eyes at you before her eyes widen and jaw drops to the floor. “Are you- are you coming back?”
“What? No.”
“Yes, you are! You have your pre-flight glow.”
“I plead the fifth.”
“Fine, I’ll pretend like I don’t know you’re coming back,” she says and then throws herself onto you, hugging you tightly.
You chuckle, patting the arm she has wrapped across your chest.
“I’m so happy you’re coming back,” she whispers into your shoulder.
“I know you are,” you lean back into her. “I am too.”
Delilah calls out for her.
“Aunt Nat duty calls. Get up.”
You groan, giving her enough room to move out of the way. “You’re no fun.”
“I am fun!”
You enjoy the warmth filling your heart as you watch Natasha, Mickey, and Reuben playing with her as Jake observes.
“How are you?”
“What?” The one with glasses asks.
“How are you?”
“Me? You’re talking to me?”
“There’s no one else here and you seem less likely to annoy me.”
“Oh? I don’t know if I’m supposed to say thank you or not.”
“It’s not necessary but you’re welcome,” you nudge his arm with your elbow.
“I think they’d be mad if I tried to talk to you without them here,” he mumbles.
You furrow your brows trying to figure out what he’s talking about. “I don’t know who they are, but I know they would, and they can suck it up.” You scoot closer to him, who holds his snack of choice to you, silently offering you some. “Not now, person who’s name I still don’t know. Thank you though.”
He nods. “Oh, I’m Bob.” He quickly wipes his hand on his shorts before holding it out for you to shake.
“Well, Bob, it’s nice to meet you. It’s always good to know the people watching out for your friends.”
“Uh- oh- I’m not-”
“I know,” you give him a small smile, so he knows not to worry. “You’re not a pilot but a back seater and I hear the way I said it hut I promise I mean nothing bad about it, I’m just making an observation. I’ve known a few good back seaters in my day. Do you have a call sign Bob?”
He shakes his head, “ah, no. It’s Bob just- just Bob. Although the blond one with the sunglasses, he came up with an acronym for Bob.”
“Of course, he did. What’d he say?”
“Baby on board.”
You groan. “That’s terrible.”
“I know.”
“I mean the acronym. Don’t get me wrong he shouldn’t be saying this to his fellow teammates but that was just, terrible. He did not put any effort into it.”
“I guess not.”
“I’m gonna give you a makeshift call sign, something special just for you... Bound outta buoyancy.” You shake your head, “that doesn’t work.” You mumble other potential words in your head. “Okay all I’m coming up with is something that ends in buoyancy, and I mean like no other word besides that one.”
“Why?”
“I don’t know.”
“No, I mean- why are you trying to come up with a call sign for me?”
“You should have one that isn’t a shorter version of your name, even though Bob is a cute nickname.”
“Oh... thanks.” He pushes his glasses up, “Natasha mentioned you were nice but, I didn’t expect you to be this nice.”
You turn, staring at him with your head tilted. “She talks about me?”
He nods, “yeah- I mean, not all the time though. Just- every- a little.” He grabs a handful of his snack and tosses it into his mouth.
Now you know the perfect nickname for him and it’s most definitely not going to be an acronym. “Muchies?”
“Yeah?”
A quiet chuckle escapes you; you find it funny how he doesn’t realize what you called him. “What has she told you?”
“You two went out a couple times.”
You weren’t expecting her to tell him that. She must really like this kid. “And?”
“She was surprised to see you here that’s for sure and misses you… so does Jake.”
You nearly choke on your spit. “What?”
He freezes, realizing he’s said the wrong. “Nothing- nothing. It's- people say the weirdest things to me.” He lets out a nervous chuckle, reminding you of a certain mother on “That 70’s Show”.
“Bob, have Jake and Natasha talked about me before?”
“Uh- no?”
“Are you lying?”
“No,” he nods his head yes.
“I didn’t think Jake talked to you like you were friends.”
“He mentioned you two went out.”
“Nothing nice like Natasha, right?”
“No, but she did say that you two agreed you were better as friends, and she doesn’t want you to get hurt because of something stupid he does.”
“You sit quietly and learn all the gossip, don’t you?”
“I don’t mean to.”
“It’s okay.” You pat his back, “I believe you.”
“It kind of feels like you don’t.”
“Good.”
A shriek escapes you as your little sister crawls into your lap. “Lilah, you’re wet.”
“That’s what happens when you’ve been in the water.”
“Okay, smarty pants. How are you? You tired?”
“No, I just-” She yawns. “I just need a break.”
“Sounds like they’ve tired you out.”
“More like she tired me out. We had to do two hundred push-ups during training, and she was worse than that,” Natasha tells you as she sits beside Bob.
Mickey sits in front of you, playing hand games like slide as Jake settles beside you with Rueben trying to steal Bob’s snacks while simultaneously trying to mess up their game.
The next day…
“I thought you weren’t scheduled until next Tuesday,” Larry says.
You ignore Pete and Bernie’s looks. An awkward cough escapes you. “Yeah, I was.”
“You finally coming back?”
“We’ll see.”
“It’d be nice to have you back here.”
You nod before walking ahead of the two.
-
“I knew you were BGA. I told you.”
“Shut up, Bernie.”
“No, your godfather owes me ten bucks.”
You whirl around to face the two. “You made a bet on me?”
He sees the look in your eyes and quickly back tracks, correcting himself. “No, we all knew you’ve been coming here but your alias was the question we’d all been asking.”
You start to walk away, not wanting to listen to them anymore. “You guys’ suck.”
“Not when I know I have ten bucks waiting for me.”
“Actually, that goes to me,” Pete corrects him.
“Dammit Mav.”
You shake your head and continue ditching the two as Bernie tries bargaining with the man.
-
“You realize your putting your career on the line right.”
“I could say the same thing to you.” You tell him, not looking up as you fiddle with the straps of your helmet.
“I’m serious,” he says, adding your name so you understand the seriousness of the situation.
“I fully understand what I’m about to do, Pete.”
“And you’re not afraid of missing your chance to come back? Even if Cyclone is your godfather, which would have been nice to know beforehand.”
You shrug, “you never asked.”
“I didn’t think I had to.
“Hurry up, Pete. Or else I’ll take off without you.”
-
During this time, your dearest godfather is informing the students about Pete no longer being their instructor.
The monitor beeps, Beau turns around. “Who the hell is that?”
Another beeping sound comes from the monitor, further confusing the admiral.
“Maverick to range control. Entering point Alpha. Confirm green range.”
“Uh, Maverick, range control, uh, green range is confirmed. I don’t see an event scheduled for you, sir,” Range control tells him. “We’re already aware of your partner but your name is not on our schedule.”
“Well, I’m going anyway,” says Pete.
“It’s a beautiful day to be in the sky.”
“You say that every time, Angel.”
Natasha, Mickey, Rueben, and Bob push themselves to the edge of their seat at the sound of your call sign.
Jake uses his fist cover his mouth, hiding his smile.
“And I will continue to do so.”
“Nice,” Natasha mutters.
“Setting time to target: Two minutes 15 seconds.”
“2:15? That’s impossible,” Rueben says to himself.
“Final attack point. Maverick’s inbound.”
A hearty chuckle escapes you before you could stop it, getting the man to smile. “Let’s light ‘em up.” You maneuver yourself beside him, “if you can keep up.”
“I think it’s the other way around. I’ve been doing this a lot longer than you.”
“We’ll see.”
“Popping in three, two, one,” he says.
You follow his lead. You two try and wait until your target is locked but your’s isn’t quite there. “Gotta go in blind,” you mutter. “Do it, Mav.”
“Bombs away.”
Jake mutters to himself, “damn.”
“Bull’s-eye! Holy shit! Holy shit! Mav!” You pull up beside him, taking off your mask, showing him how pumped you are that you were able to do this. “Aw shit.”
“What?” He huffs.
“You know what.”
“Oh, that. We’ll be fine.”
“I will blame everything on you.”
“I see why you’re Angel now. You know just how to comfort someone.”
“Don’t make me kick your ass.”
“I’d like to see you try.”
-
Once you're on the ground, you head over towards the class, with Pete slowly walking beside you. “He won’t do anything. He now sees what the other old man saw in you,” you tell him.
“I don’t know.”
“No,” you shake your head. “Goddaughter knows best. Believe me.”
“I’ll believe when I walk out of here without being discharged.”
“You know why they call me Angel.”
He shakes his head.
“I tell prophecies and you being discharged is not one of them. Coming back to Penny is the one I see.”
He chuckles until it falls when he realizes how close he is to standing before his students.
-
You pause in the wide doorway when you hear you call sign being called by a voice you never wanted to hear again.
You slowly turn, face void of emotion as you stare at him.
“Look at you all dresses up. You really think you can come back, and everything will be fine?” He stares at you waiting for a response.
You blink once. “Are you done?”
That throws him off. “What?”
“Are you done because this whole douche persona is not working and honestly right now, you’re ruining the adrenaline high I have right now so if you could just go that’d be great.” You spin around, aiming to stand beside Pete.
“How’s that shoulder of yours?” He grabs the shoulder you fell on because of him and quickly spin around, grabbing his hand, twisting so he feels nothing but pain and cries out as if he’s afraid you’ll break it.
“This is getting pathetic. You have two choices, stop being a prick and harassing me.”
He groans. “What’s the second choice?”
“There’s a lot to think of but the first one would be ideal.” You barely move him, and he immediately agrees. “Good. Now, go away.”
He gets up, cradling his arm to his chest. “You deserved it!”
You shake your head at his idiotic and hot-headed behavior. “What was that?”
He’s gonna get what’s coming to him if he keeps going. “You should be lucky all I did was push you off that ladder. It was great without you here.”
You glance over Beau, “you get that.”
He nods and calls for the jerk and Pete to follow him to his office.
-
You’re then bombarded by people.
“I told you. I told you,” she repeats hugging you.
You smile, hugging her back. “Shut up.”
She pulls back, shaking her head. “How are you not shaking or get stuck in G-Lock?”
You don’t answer her.
“You- you’ve been practicing?!”
“Just because I wasn’t here doesn’t mean I shouldn’t have practiced and make sure I don’t lose my skills.”
Mickey and Reuben push past her, giving you side hugs and shoulder pats.
“You have balls,” the taller one of the two tells you.
A chuckle exits your nose, “thanks.”
“No, I mean it. You and Maverick did that with sixteen seconds to spare.”
“Sixteen?”
He nods.
“I was hoping for twenty,” you sigh. “Oh well.”
Bob moves forward aiming to give you a high five. “That was... something.”
“Thank you, Munchies.”
“That’s my nickname?”
“Yep.” For some reason you look over his shoulder and find Jake staring at you. You can the corners of your lips tugging upwards and the longer you look at him, the more you smile.
Bob glances over his shoulder, catching sight of the blond. He leans in, whispering in your ear, “go over and talk to him.”
You furrow your brows, “what are you-”
“Just trust me.” He walks away, neither of you take the first step that is, until Javy’s had enough and shoves him in your direction.
“So- uh,” Jake scratches the back of his neck.
“You intimidated?”
He scoffs, “yeah, right.”
“Seems like you can finally have that rematch,” you tell him, reminding him of your first day in class together.
“I can, can’t I? But I think that’ll have to wait until after I buy you a drink.”
“Really?”
“Yeah, plus I owe your sister a piggyback ride.”
You quietly groan to yourself. “You don’t have to, Jake. I know she asks everyone but you-”
“I want to.” He looks like he says he wants to say something else and is holding it back.
“Something on your mind.”
He chuckles through his nose. “I know why they call you Angel.”
“Oh, yeah? Why?”
“There’s this glow you have when you’re in the air and on the ground.”
“Is that a line you say to every pretty girl you see?”
“No- no,” he stutters, struggling to give you a proper response.
Warlock announces with everything that’s happened, it’s time for everyone to head to the locker rooms and rest until the mission.
You pat his arm before walking away and all he can do his stare at your back, wondering what you’ve done to make him struggle with talking to you.
Three weeks later... (after the mission)
You’re happy Penny lets you come in once a week for a shift, it’s good for you. Being at the hard deck gives you time to clear your head and keeps you occupied when you’re not at Top Gun.
Plus, your shift is usually right around the time when the crew comes by.
It’s been a few weeks since you’ve seen them and you guy’s plan on hanging out for most of the night since Delilah’s spending the night at her friends place for a sleepover.
A few of them stopped by at the beginning of your shift, you glance over at the pool tables, watching as Mickey and Billy play against one another while Neil and Rueben count their cash, clearly placing bets.
-
After a couple of hours, Natasha comes in and grabs a round before heading towards the back where the others are. She was the only to notice when Bagman came in and how he hadn’t left his chair to come over and sit by you as you chat with the others.
It’s been half an hour and she watches the way he’s staring at you, surprised that he hasn’t walked over to you yet. So far, she’s counted six lingering glances, two long sighs, and one-half drunken beer.
She can’t handle this anymore and heads over towards him. “If you’re trying to get back together with her, don’t break her heart.”
He spins to face Natasha. “What?”
She groans, taking a minute to think about her next course of action and jams her finger into his chest, “don’t act the same way you did before. You and I both know she deserves someone who’s...”
“Not me and not a douche, right?”
She sucks in a quick breath, pinching the bridge of her nose. “Although most of that is true and I’m not going to say what is and what isn’t. You- you've changed.”
He furrows his brows. “I have?”
“Yeah. When you’re around her, you act like a civil guy and not like Bagman.”
“I mean, I don’t-”
“Please shut up and just go walk over there. It’s pathetic.”
“Says the one who couldn’t keep her.”
She rolls her eyes, “you are not allowed to be near Bob anymore.”
“He was just being a good guy and answering my question.”
“She’s definitely got a hold on you, you’re saying Bob’s a good guy,” Natasha jokes.
“I’m not even gonna respond to that.” He pushes himself out of the chair. “Wish me luck, Princess Phoenix.”
She groans, shoving him in your direction. Once he’s at the steps just a few feet from you, she downs the rest of the beer he left behind.
Penny raises a brow.
“Add it to his tab.”
“Look who finally decided to show his face around here,” Javy jokes as his friend tries to make a move on you.
“Don’t you have a bet to lose, Coyote.”
His buddy only offers a sly smile. “Nope.”
“Yes, you do. Come on,” Natasha and Bob pull him away from you two.
-
You turn to him. “You know what that was about?”
Jake shrugs, “not a clue.” But he knows and knows that everyone else, but you know.
“How’s it feel?”
“How’s what feel?” He asks, giving you his full attention.
“Having two kills in your belt. You know, being a hero and all.”
He chuckles, suddenly feeling bashful. “I- uh- it’s- its fine.”
“Really? You’re not bragging about it like you’d been doing since you saved Rooster and Maverick. What’s with the sudden change?”
He shrugs because he can’t even tell what’s going on with him when he's around you anymore.
“Do you wanna go for a walk outside?”
He nods. Maybe fresh air is what he needs right now.
-
You two close the doors just as Bradley heads for the piano. “Are you sure you’re, okay?”
He rests his forearms on the railing. “Yeah. The more you ask, the more it sounds like you’re concerned about me, sweetheart.”
You roll your eyes, feeling a little happier now that he’s starting to act like his old self. “You wish, Seresin.”
“Maybe I do.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
“Huh?” His head slowly turns in your direction, barely moving up from his arms.
“What do you mean?”
The two of you don’t say anything for a few minutes and continue staring at one another, you try to figure out the meaning behind what he said, and he realizes that he’s been an idiot ever since you two broke up before you two were shipped off to different places.
You furrow your brows. “Are you trying to tell me that you like me because, I don’t know if you remember, but we tried this,” you point to the two of you. “Before and it didn’t work out.”
“I can’t help what I’m feeling and honestly even if I could, I wouldn’t want to.”
“Okay,” you gulp down all and any spit that’s built up in your mouth. “If you want to give this one more shot, I’m gonna need you to be a big boy and put on your big boy boxers.”
His head drops, he’s fighting the urge to smile but you take it as he can’t tell you what he feels.
You’re not gonna stand around and wait for him to tell you no so you this opportunity to walk away.
He grabs your wrist pulling you into him. “I am not letting you go again.” His other hand brushes away the strands of hair that come flying into your face as the wind picks up. “Do you hear me?”
You switch between his two eyes, seeing if he’s being serious or not.
“I think the first time I was too scared to let you in even though I already had, and I thought breaking up was better than us trying to make it work because I missed out on a lot of things,” his voice slowly becoming lower and lower towards the end.
You can’t fight the urge to hide your runny nose or your tears, but you could care less to wipe away the tears trickling down your cheeks and sniffle. “Yeah, you did.”
“I wasn’t there for you, and you needed me.”
“I didn’t need you-”
“That’s my fault, you’re right. You didn’t need me, but I think we both know it would have been easier if I was there to help. I mean, I wouldn’t have been much help, but I could have definitely taken Lilah out for ice cream after school or something.”
“Oh, yeah. Load her up either sugar. Grade A parenting, Jake.”
His lips tug upwards into his soft, boyish smile that he only reserves for you. “I want to be there for you. Anything and everything, all of it.”
“Ja-”
He shushes you. “Just kiss me, please?”
You roll your eyes, “I was going to say when did you become such a sappy guy, but you ruined it.”
He leans forward pressing his forehead against yours. His breath hitting your skin as a chuckle slips past his toothy grin. “You love it when I beg you.”
“I don’t know. My tastes have changed,” you shrug.
“Bullshit they have.”
“My, my. You’ve got quite the potty mouth on you-”
“Just shut up and kiss already.”
Your heads snap over at the door, seeing Natasha’s head sticking out of the doorway.
You groan, hiding your head into his chest.
“I swear if two don’t- no, let go- no-”
“She’s gonna take a five-minute break,” Bob tells you before closing the door.
“And you said, I ruined the mood.”
“Oh, shut up,” you giggle, enjoying the warmth emanating from him.
“You know you never told me, yes or no.”
“To what?”
“To me.”
You pull back, leaving enough space so when either one of you leans in, the other isn’t too far. “Oh, I didn’t.”
He narrows his eyes. “No, you didn’t, and you know that.”
“I guess you’re right.” You tilt your chin up, waiting to see his next move.
“Hey guys.”
“Why are you out here, Chicken?” Jake asks, keeping his gaze on you.
“Oh, you know, just enjoying the... scenery. Have either of you ever watched the way the moon just reflects off the water.”
Neither of you turn your heads.
“Because you should.”
You two do as he suggests, not realizing that he moves closer.
You turn back to look at Bradley with furrowed brows. “That wasn’t much different than other nights.”
He shrugs, “guess you’re right.”
Jake moves back to his previous position.
Before either of you two can understand what’s happening, you’re kissing Jake and you start chuckling when you hear the mustached man whine for the others to let him in.
“You find that funny, sweetheart.”
“Little bit.”
“Maybe I can do this to distract you.”
“Are you jealous?” You mumble against his lips.
He pulls back, resting his chin on top of your head, enjoying this moment. “As I’ve I’d ever be jealous of Chicken. He doesn’t have what I have.”
“And what’s that?”
“The best thing I could have asked for.”
You groan into his shoulder, trying to hold it together.
“What’s that sound for?”
You unwrap your arms from his waist to hold his cheeks. “Why are you so cute?”
“I’m not cute,” he pouts.
“Yes, you are.” A mischievous grin spreads across your lips. “You’re my cutie pie.”
He shakes his head, “no. Get off me.”
“You know I’m joking. Don’t be mean.”
“I’m not mean.”
“Well, you’re not being very good.”
“You’re lying. I’m good, I’m very good and we both know it.”
“You’re not making this moment any sweeter.”
“I’m making it so sweet; Baby on Board is gonna get his firs cavity.”
“Why are you still being so competitive? You’ve got me.”
“This is just something you’re gonna have to get used to, sweetheart.”
You let out a fake deep sigh, “guess I am.”
He grins, pecking your lips. “I win.”
“Moment ruined.” You shove him away from you only to be pulled back into his embrace.
“Not so fast.”
-
“Can you two tease each other later and come back in to play pool?” Natasha asks, pulling you away from Jake.
You glance back over your shoulder, giggling back at him.
He stands behind you as you wait for Mickey to take his shot. “You know what I realized,” he whispers in your ear.
“What?”
“You’re the future Mrs. Bagman.”
“What makes you think I’d be the one taking your callsign?”
“Sweetheart, do I seem like the type people would call angel?”
“Yes.” You spin around, placing a hand on his chest keeping yourself from losing your balance.
“Really? Who?”
“Me. You’re my little angel baby.”
The corner of is lips tugs upwards, you still remember your guys’ song, and the one that just so happens to be playing at this exact moment.
“And, we’d have to be engaged for that to happen but before that comes boyfriend and girlfriend.”
“Did that confession and kiss out there make you think I wanted to be your best friend or something?”
“You didn’t ask me.”
“Oh, sweetheart, there’s no one else I’m kissing tonight or any other night but you.”
You squint your eyes at him.
“I see the looks you’re giving me and I’m gonna confess another one of my truths to you,” he leans down, his lips a mere few centimeters from your ear, his breath hitting your skin causes goosebumps to rise on your skin. “When we were together officially and unofficially the first time, you were the only one I ever kissed.”
“I was?”
“Yep. It’s your turn.”
You don’t know how you one the game after hearing that but when you shot the last ball into the corner pocket and looked up, you realized how you did and you don’t hold back the smile that stretches your lips wide from corner to corner as you look at Jake, who walks towards you, a sense of pride in his eyes.
His hand cups your cheek as he pulls you in for a deep, long kiss, earning sounds whooping and hollering combined with the sounds of fake disgust.
Neither of you cared what was going on around you as you enjoyed the others embrace.
When he pulls away to catch his breath, you tell him, “guess I’m good too.”
He smirks, “finally, I get someone worthy enough to be called my competition.”
“Don’t get cheeky with me, Hangman.”
“Say it again.”
You peck his lips, “keep it in your pants, Jake. It’s your turn to play now,” you hold the pool cue out for him to take.
He shakes his head as he takes it, heading over towards the table Bradley is playing at.
-
“I can’t believe you’re with Bagman.”
You grin at her, taking a sip of Jake’s drink. “I know.”
“But I’m happy for you.”
“Thank you. You spot the brunette eyeing you in the corner by the jukebox?”
“No, thanks for the heads up. Don’t wait for me.”
“Oh, believe me. I know the way you work, and I won’t, Phoxy.”

Death II
Bucky Barnes x m!reader / Steve Rogers and m!reader (platonic)
Word Count: 3419
Warnings/Info: bucky briefly mentioned but isn’t in this, Steve and y/n best buds, not proof read, kind of boring because it's just a play by play of the end of the first avenger, y/n is content with his own death, guns/shooting, Peggy <3, discontinued
Part One
Tumblr media
Y/n’s transfer was approved merely a day after he sent it in, just one of the perks of being friends with Captain America. When y/n and Steve saw each other for the first time there was an unnamed tension between the two, they of course both loved the other but never really hung out without Bucky. Steve introduced y/n the rest of the team, he truly didn’t want to deal with pleasantries at the moment and they seemed to get the hint. The team briefly knew y/n and Bucky’s relationship, (leaving a few key details out) so they chalked his standoffish behavior as grief, which it was for the most part.
The final Hydra base came quickly, the plan was making y/n nervous as he and the Howling Commandos, excluding Steve, sat on top of a ledge looking down into the Hydra Headquarters’ main window. He anxiously chewed his lip and he awaited his cue, Dugan looked at y/n and put a warm hand on his shoulder, “He’ll be fine, he knows what he’s doing.” He attempted to reassure. “I know he does.” Y/n bites back, Dugan’s eyes go wide with a shocked smile, “Sorry, I’m just - I’ll be better on the ground.” Dugan’s smile warms and he laughs, letting go of his shoulder, walking closer to the edge.
“Ready boys?” Dugan calls out.
In unison they all get up and get into stance to shoot out the zip line hooks. “On three! One, two, three!” The hooks all fire out, with a metallic zing. They all quickly tie off their lines to the poles dug deeply into the ground, despite seeing them go into mountain y/n can’t help but feel nervous as he puts his handle across the line, taking a deep breath and running off the edge, the friction producing a sound that reminded y/n of watching Bucky work on the docks - pulling ropes off the side of the small ships.
“Fucking Christ!” Y/n hears someone yelp out.
He looks to the side, trying his best to hide his face into the crook of his own neck. The glass shatters against his body; small shards sticking into his soft flesh, his hands letting go of the zip line on impact, his body rolls across the cold, hard floor. The sound of gunshots rattle his body before his eyes can process the area around him, he looks up and slides his body to a near crate on the floor, he pulls his gun close to his chest and looks around the corner - firing at a Hydra soldier. Y/n stays crouched as he runs to a pillar, he makes eye contact with Steve from across the room, Steve nods his head toward the hallway before running into it, y/n following close behind.
“You okay?” Y/n questions the second he gets close to Steve.
“Yeah, hit me a few times but you’ve probably hit me harder.” Steve smiles at him.
Y/n laughs at Steve as they continue to run after Schmidt.
Schmidt was shooting behind him as he ran, Steve pulling up his shield to cover his face, y/n moved his stride to hide behind Steve. Schmidt smashes a button as he runs by, the door mechanism blinks to life as two metal walls move together from both sides at a steady pace, Steve quickly throws the shield between them, metallic creaking filling the hallway as the door continues to try and close. The two men attempt to run to the door but are cut off by a man with a double barrel flamethrower, they frantically step back hiding in another doorway at the other end of the hall. Fear washes over y/n as he tries to shoot the soldier - the flames disrupting his view.
Gunshots ring out, the echoes making hard to know where they came from, until the Hydra soldier drops. Steve and y/n move forward to the body planted in front of a crossroads in the hall, as they reach it Peggy and Colonel Phillips almost run into them.
“You’re late.” Steve says looking like a lovesick puppy, you wave softly at her.
Y/n was about to tell Steve to keep it moving but Peggy beat him to it, “Weren’t you about to-?”
“Right.” Steve turns and keeps running, y/n quickly following suit.
Y/n ducks under the shield first before Steve pulls it out of the door, causing it to snap shut. Y/n glances around, taking in the large room, the shooting and screams has now become as normal as the sound of his own breathing. Both men look for Schmidt’s running form, while neither find him; they both see the only moving aircraft slowly starting to descend farther down the runway.
The men both wordlessly take off running in the direction of the aircraft, shooting and shoving through the people in your way, at some point Steve grabbed y/n’s arm pulling him along. The two keep running, adrenaline pumping through y/n’s veins, the only thing he can hear is his own heartbeat pounding in his ears rhythmically. In the distance Steve sees a chain dangling from the ceiling a few feet from a crate, he slows a bit pulling y/n in front of him as softly as possible, picking him up and placing him on his side like a young child. He runs at his full speed at the crate using it to propel himself (and y/n) toward the chain, y/n leaps out of his arms - landing on the chain just above Steve. It aggressively swings back and forth, y/n jumps first, landing a few dozen feet ahead, Steve following behind.
The aircraft is so close but accelerating far too quickly for y/n, and too quickly for Steve. They slow to a stop as it speeds away, before all hope can be lost a car halts next to them, “Get in!” The Colonel yells over all the noise, neither of you need to be told twice as you hop in. Colonel Phillips floors it; once you start to get close to the aircraft the propellers hit the back of the car, the screeching of metal sounds imitates a monster lurking in the shadows of cold caverns in the deep ocean. You shakily climb onto the hood of the car, Steve doing the same much more confidently.
“Keep it steady!” Steve calls out.
“Yeah, that, please.” Y/n nervously laughs.
“Wait.” Peggy firmly states, Steve turns around to look at her, concern apparent in his eyes which quickly melts away when she kisses him.
“Hey…I don’t mean to rush this but-“ Y/n interjects.
“Yeah, right. Go get him.” She smiles at Steve, then at y/n (which shocks him slightly).
Steve looks at the Colonel in one final glance, “I’m not kissin ya.”
Y/n and Steve line themselves up on the end of the hood, knees bent tightly, the car now as close as it can get to the wheels, swerving harshly to throw the men forward. Y/n’s knuckles turn white as the wheel starts to move up into the ship. Steve watches y/n closely, fear racking him slightly as the height increases.
The wheels lock in place with a final clicking noise, the men climb off of them and through the bars onto the catwalk. Their eyes are met with bombs lined up on exit hatches, as well as a few small one man planes, they walk up to one of the bombs with neat painted letters in print, New York. “Well it's awfully nice of them to let us know the plan.” Y/n jokes to try and lighten the mood but it falls on deaf ears.
Steve is only pulled out of his trance when a fair sized group of Hydra soldiers stormed through the doors onto the catwalk. Y/n and Steve both immediately jump into action, both noticing that they’re trying to get into the planes. Y/n pulls a soldier out of the pilot seat harshly, throwing him onto the floor and shooting him in one fluid motion. Y/n finishes off the few Hydra soldiers on his side, he turns around and sees Steve no longer there, fear courses through his veins as he runs to an open exit hatch. Looking down he sees Steve standing on top of the small plane pulling open the door and dragging the pilot out into the open air. He gets in and starts to fly around the ship; y/n losing sight of Steve.
Seeing as Steve’s shield is on the ground, y/n assumed he should wait for Steve to return. While waiting y/n takes a dead Hydra soldier’s gun and shoots the wall seeing the blue light explode onto it. He hears a crash behind him and Steve climbs in from the plane and aggressively grabs the shield off the floor, “Getting trigger happy?” He laughs, “Fuck Hydra in all, but they got sick guns.” Y/n says waving it around, “Alright calm down, and don’t shoot me.”
Y/n leans around Steve to look at his parking job, “Jesus man - you ever fly before?”
“As the pilot? God no.” Steve laughs moving to quickly walk further into the aircraft.
The two eventually find the control center, Schmidt nowhere to be seen. Y/n glances around before feeling a hard grip on his bicep yanking him behind Steve, the shield blocking the familiar blue gunshots.
“You don’t give up do you?” Schmidt yells out at Steve, his accent getting heavier throughout the sentence.
“Nope.” Steve states matter of factly, before throwing his shield at the red man, Steve aggressively rushes him.
Seeing as Steve has Schmidt under control y/n goes to the controls, frantically looking for a way to turn the ship around. He quickly finds a, what he thinks was a button, broken off labeled autopilot. The familiar hopeless feeling drapes itself over y/n, clouding all of his senses like a heavy wool blanket. Y/n gets knocked out of his thoughts when Schmidt smashes into the controls, forcing the steering controls down, throwing the three of you up into the ceiling.
“You could have the power of the gods! Yet you wear a flag on your chest and think you fight a battle of nations!” Schmidt yells out at Steve, “I have seen the future, Captain! There are no flags!” His voice gets louder and more intense the more he yells.
“Not my future.” Steve throws the shield at the mysterious machine in the middle of the room.
It sparked and the blue light aggressively flickered, making a whirring sound. A bright blue cube fell out of its container, it burned so bright it felt as though it could burn one's eye, it felt like it could blind the vision of the eye in just one glance. Despite this y/n couldn’t look away.
“What have you done?” Schmidt exclaims, venom dripping from his voice.
Schmidt picks up the cube off the floor with haste, the sky starts to open up, all three men look up at it, a bright, star filled, galaxy looks back at them - it seemed to wink back at them as it started to rapidly consume Schmidt. His screams filled the air, y/n wanted so bad to look away but he just couldn’t.
The second Schmidt was fully gone the sky closed back up, it all happened so fast if it weren’t for Steve’s shocked expression y/n would’ve thought he imagined it. The cube falls back onto the floor with a hard thud, it sits for a second before melting through the metal and falling into the open air. Steve shutters slightly, and walks up to y/n, who is still standing by the control panel, eyeing it with concern and confusion.
“I can’t- I don’t-“ Y/n stutters,”It won’t stop, it's stuck on auto pilot.”
Wordlessly he gently pushes by y/n to get a closer look, he sees the same thing y/n did, Steve looks strange as he sits down and picks up the radio.
“This is Captain Rodgers, do you read me?”
A man starts to say something on the other side but is cut off by Peggy, “Steve is that you? Are you two alright?”
“Peggy, Schmidt’s dead!” Steve calls out.
“What about the plane?”
“That’s a little tougher to explain.” As Steve says that, he has a certain look in his eye, y/n now starting to understand the new plan, sinks down to the floor next to the chair - back against the side of the chair.
“Give me your coordinates and I’ll find you a safe landing site.” She pleads.
“There’s not gonna be a safe landing.” He says solemnly.
Their conversation starts to blur together as y/n gets lost in his own thoughts, a sense of calm replacing his fear, there is nothing y/n can do. He knows this, he’s okay with this. He can’t help but get that guilty feeling again, he’s ready for death, he come to terms with that a long time ago, while he didn’t think it was going to be today, it's fine that it is. He can’t help it, how could he be sad when he knows he’ll see his boy again? The guilt pinches at him again when he remembers who he’s sitting next to, how can he be happy to see his lover again when Steve is being ripped away from his own? He hears his name, successfully gaining his attention.
“Y/n?” Peggy asks.
“I’m sorry what?” He smiles at the radio, he knows she can’t see him but it felt right.
“Are you okay with this? It’s not just Steve’s life.” She states firmly, it's sort of comforting.
Steve looks at y/n, fear in his eyes, it hits y/n that he’s never seen Steve scared before. He’s seen Steve depressed, angry, concerned, hopeless, but never scared. Without thinking y/n grabbed one of Steve’s hands, off the controls, into his own.
“…Well I mean you know the saying, the few for the many, or whatever.” He attempted to joke, hoping to lighten the mood.
Steve uses his free hand to put his locket of Peggy on the small ledge on one of the controls. Y/n temporarily lets go of Steve’s hand in order to stand up, Steve puts his hands on the console before looking up into y/n’s eyes, y/n smiles sadly and puts his hands on top of Steve’s, pushing down together. The aircraft took an immediate dive.
“Peggy.” He pauses, “I’m gonna need a rain check on the dance.”
“All right,” her voice quivers, “A week, next Saturday at the Stork Club.”
“You got it.” A tear falls out of his eye.
“Eight O'clock on the dot, don’t you dare be late. Understood?”
“You know I still don’t know how to dance.” He laughs, y/n smiles at him.
“I’ll show you how, just be there.”
“We’ll have the band play something slow,” Steve started, y/n felt like he shouldn’t be listening to this.
“I’d hate to step on your feet.”
“…” Something barely comes through but it’s intelligible, static taking over the whole system.
“Peg?” Steve sniffles, before looking at y/n for what he thinks is the last time.
Y/n’s eyes slowly blink open, squinting to adjust to the bright fluorescent lights, his nose filled with the strong smells of disinfectant and a cheap lavender candle. He groans pushing himself up to rest on his elbows, digging into the stiff bed, further taking in his surroundings, he sees Steve laying on another bed across the room - eyes also opening. He yawns, a soft pop in his ear, now hearing more clearly he notices a radio on Steve’s side of the room, it was some sort of sport (baseball most likely, based on his tone) announcer excitedly describing the game.
“You alright?” Steve asks, voice raspy.
“Yeah, I think so?” Y/n sounds unsure, throwing his legs over the side of the bed., “You?”
“I’m fine.” Steve replies half heartedly, staring down the radio.
A few beats of silence pass before y/n starts to talk again, “How-?”
He stops talking when a short pale woman opens the door and slowly makes her way in, she looks…off slightly. “Good morning,” she checks her watch, “or should I say afternoon.” She laughs softly at her own words.
“Where are we?” Steve asks with an accusatory tone.
“You’re in a recovery room in New York City.” Her eyes darted between the two men.
Steve looks at the radio once more, “Where are we really?” He says more harshly this time, almost threatening.
“I’m afraid I don’t understand the question.” She smiles nervously, eyes now trained on Steve. Y/n looks over the room again, something is wrong about it but he just can’t put his finger on it.
“The game,” he gestures to the radio, “It’s from May 1941. I know because I was there.”
“Now I’m going to ask again, where are we?” He steps closer to her, y/n takes notice of a small orange light in her closed fist.
“Captain Rogers…” She steps back, looking at y/n almost as if she wanted him to help her.
“Who are you?” He states firmly, his captain tone coming out.
“Steve - her hand!” Y/n yelps once he gains an idea of its possible function, Steve looks at it, but before he can take it a few men dressed up in military gear storm the room.
Y/n quickly stands up, watching Steve take care of the men like it was his day job (which it kind of was). Steve throws one of them through the wall on the left side of the door, creating a void for them to move through. Y/n and Steve move in the direction of their exit with no hesitation, they enter a barren looking warehouse, only the fake recovery room in the middle of it. Steve grabs y/n’s hand to pull him faster, a sensation y/n has gotten so very used to.
“Captain Rogers! Y/t y/l! Wait!”
They exit the warehouse and enter a lobby of what feels like a dystopian sci-fi book, they slow down for a split second to look around at this new strange environment. A loud announcement echoes throughout the building, “All agents! Code thirteen!” Dozens of men turn to them, almost robotically, start running at them. They take off in a full fledged sprint (at least y/n does, Steve slows a bit so as to not rip y/n’s arm off) , out of the building.
The road they end up on is scarier than the building, bright billboards line the streets, except they move around, lights flashing. Cars honked at them paired with swearing and screaming, the cars themselves in all kinds of different shapes and sizes, one specific car swerving in front of them, effectively blocking them from moving farther down the street. A rather bald, dark man steps out of the vehicle, a black eye patch wrapped around his head, he slowly steps toward the two men - hands out like you would a dog who one isn’t sure is safe.
“At ease soldiers!” He calls out, y/n and Steve looking at each other to silently communicate what they were going to do; they decide to hear him out. “Look I’m sorry about that little show back there, but we thought it best to break it to you slowly.”
“Break what?” The men say in unison.
“You’ve both been asleep,” he pauses to look them both up and down, “ for almost seventy years.”
Both y/n’s and Steve’s minds stop working. Y/n feels his heart race out of his chest, he looks at Steve whose eyes are jumping from place to place around the street, “You two gonna be okay?” The mysterious man asks softly, real concern present.
“Yeah.” “No.” Steve and y/n say at the same time, they all look to y/n who sighs loudly, “I will be though…I guess.” He mumbles the last part but Steve still hears him and he laughs quietly at his friend.
The man smiles, “How about we take a ride?” He offers, y/n and Steve accept cautiously.

pairing: Steve Rogers x fem!reader and best friend!Natasha x fem!reader (platonic but with accidental fruity implications at the end whoops) no use of y/n
(disclaimer: at one point in this story it is mentioned that perhaps Reader reminds Steve of Peggy. this can be interpreted as looks, intelligence, empowerment, among many other things that you may attribute to yourself. know that i do not intend this to be used to restrict the audience of readers, but for the plot of this little story it has to be there! take it as you will!)

You had been dating Captain Steve Rogers for a few months now and things had been going super well. You went on dates every week when the two of you weren’t busy on missions for SHIELD, he had met your best friend from outside of work, and he treated you like a lady. He was so unlike anyone else you had ever dated, and not just because he was a super soldier. He was what they called a good old fashioned lover boy who opened doors, pulled out chairs, brought you bouquets of your favorite flowers, the works, for every date you had been on.
Your first date all that time ago was set up by one of your colleagues and work best friends Natasha Romanoff who thought both you and Steve needed to get out into the dating world and had the idea that the two of you would make a great pair. You knew she had been trying to get him to go for other girls like the pretty blonde from accounting or the spunky chick from analytics, and you heard the rumors of how great they were but he still didn’t go for them. So needless to say, you were surprised when Nat told you he nearly immediately said yes when she offered you up as a potential date. Not that you were complaining or anything.
So that led you to tonight on your usual dinner date with Steve. After dinner was finished, Steve took you back to his apartment where the plan was to start watching the Star Wars movies to get some things on his checklist in his little notebook done, but things didn’t exactly go to plan. Honestly they never did once you and Steve got behind closed doors because the second the door shut behind you, his strong body pinned you to it as your lips crashed onto one another’s.
Steve’s hands wandered down to your hips and he began gently massaging them as one of your own locked in his hair and the other ran feather-light over his abs. “You look so beautiful tonight,” he whispered as he turned his attention to your neck, starting with gentle kisses before starting to leave small love bites on your delicate skin.
“Oh this old thing?” you asked with a breathy laugh, referencing your low cut white blouse and flowing red skirt you had gotten at your favorite boutique years ago.
“It’s been driving me crazy all night,” he told you as he moved his assault to your collar bones as he effortlessly lifted you into his arms.
A smirk slipped onto your lips as you said in your most seductive voice, “Well if it’s making you so crazy why don’t you take it off of me… Captain?”
“You don’t have to ask me twice, agent,” he replied with a chuckle.
So as the two of you made your way to his bedroom one article of clothing came off at a time, first your blouse followed by his shirt. As he gently sat you on the edge of the bed, his hands worked quickly to get your bra off and he spent a few torturous minutes messing with your sensitive breasts, leaving yet more love bites and teasing your nipples which left you with a pool of wet heat in between your thighs. Steve slipped your panties off before you spread your legs wider for him, working on getting his pants off over the tent that had formed within them. You ended up getting both his underwear and pants off in one go and he chuckled as he told you between kisses, “Now I think you’re a bit overdressed, sweetheart.”
“Oh am I now?” you asked with a light laugh before you let your skirt fall to the ground. “Better?” you asked as you kicked the garment to the pile of clothes that now littered the floor.
“Much,” he replied as he guided you to lay on the bed. He hovered over you and kissed your lips passionately a few more times before asking like he always did, “You take your pill this morning?”
“Of course,” you replied. You nipped his earlobe before teasing, “I know you like the feel without a condom…”
“God, because you’re just so perfect,” he groaned as his hips bucked up, his swollen tip teasing your entrance already. “You’re so wet…you ready for me?” he asked as he reached down between the two of you to run himself through your soaked and sensitive folds.
“Always ready for you, Captain,” you told him with a wink. The calling of his rank was enough to spur him to thrust in without much of a warning, pushing in quickly at first before he slowed down, pushing his thick length into you impossibly deep, something you never got used to no matter how many times you had slept with him. “Oh god, Steve!” you whimpered as your nails dug into the strong muscles lining his back.
“You feel so good,” he grunted as he bottomed out, giving you a few moments to adjust to his size.
“You just know how to treat me right,” you replied before he began moving his hips, dragging his hot length in and out of you at the delicious speed that had you moaning loudly within moments. You were sure you’d be getting another noise complaint from the little old lady next door.
After a few minutes of that position, Steve shifted and hooked one of your legs over his shoulder, which in turn made you nearly scream as you called out his name, your nails once again digging into his back as the pleasure became nearly unbearable. You could feel yourself starting to gently squeeze Steve’s cock, causing him to throw his face into the crook of your neck as his breathing the thrusts became erratic. He let out a low moan before whispering something that made your blood run cold. “Peggy, God that feels so good…”
“I- Steve, Steve stop,” you stuttered out upon hearing what he whispered, your orgasm retreating deep into your body as all pleasure seemed to run away with it. “P-please get off,” you told him as you began shifting out of the now awkward position he had you in.
“Everything okay?” he asked dumbly, his eyebrows furrowing as he pulled out of you gently.
You tried to hide the building emotion in your voice as you told him, “You answer that next time you’re fucking someone and they call out someone else’s name.”
“I- I didn’t realize,” Steve said quietly as he closed his eyes and sighed. You quickly began gathering your clothes off the floor and throwing them on as he called out your name, saying, “Oh come on, it was a mistake I didn’t mean it! Come back please! I’ll make it up to you!”
“No,” you told him, pulling away from his grasp before heading to the bedroom door to grab your blouse. You kept your back turned to him as you pulled it on and said, “You’re still in love with her, I get it. I’m sorry I wasn’t enough…” Before he could respond you closed the door behind you and grabbed your purse, making a quick exit as the tears began running down your face.
You grabbed a cab back to your apartment, earning sympathetic glances from the cabbie the whole ride there. When you arrived and paid him, he told you gently, “I hope your night gets better.”
“Oh, t-thanks,” you mumbled, returning to your purse for a few more bills to tip the kind man with. “Have a good night.”
When you got up to your apartment was when your anxiety at the whole situation got the better of you and you began to spiral. Everything touching you felt like too much, so you quickly got changed in your bedroom, ridding yourself of the sticky feeling underwear and the outfit that you now realized looked just like one you saw on Peggy in a picture Steve had in his apartment. “Stupid…” you whispered to yourself, your voice breaking as you glared at your now former favorite ensemble.
Changing into your softest pjs you tried to calm yourself down and stop your mind from racing, sitting down on the cool hardwood floor wrapped in your favorite blanket. You closed your eyes for a few minutes, trying to not let your mind wander away from your immediate surroundings. As the feel of the cool wood brought you back down to reality, you got lost in your own little world of what you could hear, feel, and smell in your apartment. The distant sounds of the city were more soothing than ever, but all of that was interrupted by the sudden turning of the doorknob to your apartment.
Your eyes snapped open and you instinctively reached for the hidden gun under your coffee table only to see Natasha standing in your doorframe. “Oh, Nat, hey,” you said quietly, your hand retreating from the firearm. “I thought I locked the door, sorry.”
“Spare key remember?” Nat asked as she held the key in question up. She smirked slightly before saying, “Not that I need it or anything.”
“Right,” you told her with a forced laugh.
Nat closed the door behind her and studied you for a few moments before asking quietly, “What happened with Romeo?”
“He’s no Romeo…” you whispered, tears making their appearance once more in response to the question. When Nat didn’t say anything in response for a few moments, you continued, telling her, “Things were going great at first. Dinner went well, we headed back to his place, started having sex, but then…then he called out Peggy’s name… I just… I had to get outta there…”
“Oh, radnaya…” Nat whispered as she sat down on the couch nearby and leaned you back into her lap, massaging your shoulders. “I’m sorry that happened…” she mumbled, something like guilt laced in her words.
“Is…is that the only reason he wanted me? Because I reminded him of her? Of what he actually wants?” you asked, the venom in your voice earlier replaced by an overwhelming sadness. You lowered your head as your arms tightened around your legs, adding quietly, “I thought for once someone wanted me for me…”
“Get up,” Nat said suddenly, a sureness in her tone as she untangled her legs from you and stood up.
“What?” you asked, looking up at her with your eyebrows furrowed.
“Get up, let’s go, let’s get off the floor. Put on a dress and walk out the door. Leave him behind I know that you’re better off,” she told you as she held her hand out for you to grab.
“But Nat-“ you tried, not in the mood to go out again.
“No buts. You’re going to put on that little black number, I’m gonna help you cover those hickeys, and you’re going to go clubbing with me and Maria.” She smirked as she added, “That’s an order.”
“Yes ma’am,” you told her, a quiet and genuine laugh finally slipping past your lips as you took her hand and got up off the floor.
When you met up with Maria, the night felt renewed and you found yourself letting go of your anger and sadness as you got lost in more than a couple frozen margaritas. The three of you danced together into the late hours of the night, making sure to fend off incoming men with playful kisses to each others’ shoulders and cheeks. The three of you giggled every time it happened and by the time the night was over you had found yourself the happiest you had been in a long time, knowing that no matter what happened at least you had these two by your side.
a/n: honestly it was kinda hard for my Steve Rogers loving ass to write this, but when the urge to write a one shot based off of one of my favorite songs at the moment hit, i had to scratch the itch lol

Y/N was a dear friend of Bucky and Steve. But when Bucky supposedly died and Steve vanished Y/N went missing at the age of 19. She was a soldier just like her two friends. Everyone had gone looking for her but it was like she just vanished into thin air. No one was able to find her and it broke Peggy's heart the most. She had lost the three people she loved the most just in a year.
It was a hundred years later when Steve and Bucky had joined the Avengers after coming out of the ice. They've been Avengers for 6 years now. A girl named Wanda Maximoff and her brother Pietro Maximoff joined a couple months after the alien attack that went down in new York. The two were welcomed in with open arms.
After a year of them joining they all had a mission to take down a hydra base. Once they got there it was completely empty making them all confused until they came across a metal door. The Avengers that were at the base stood aside as Steve rammed into the door breaking it. Right as Steve tumbled in a huge scream was let out causing them all to cover their ears. They all looked over to see a girl wearing a black blindfold. She was holding a skull mask as she continued to let out the scream. "Pietro do something" Clint shouted and Pietro used his superspeed and punched the girl in the face. The girl stopped before whipping her head towards Pietro and kicked him in the stomach making him go flying backwards into the wall. The girl put the mask back on before breathing in. "You guys are absolutely weak" the girl muttered out as she took her stance to fight the other Avengers that were there. The girl had ash blonde hair and some of it was pinned back. She had some hair pins dangling from it. Bucky looked at the girl before looking at Steve then Wanda. As Sam took a couple steps forward the girl quickly threw a black vile towards sam. He dodged and it exploded behind him before it attacked him causing him to fall to the ground. The girl smirked under her mask as she saw Sam squirm and struggle to get the ink off. "Are you three just going to stand there or are you g-" before she could finish she dropped to the ground knocked out cold.
The girl bolted up before looking around. She touched her face and sighed in relief when she felt her mask and blindfold still on. She looked around the room and realized she was in a glass cell. She was about to take her blindfold off when she heard someone speak behind her. "You got some cool powers" the person said and the girl turned around and spotted the brown haired girl from before sitting down in a chair. Y/N reached for a vile but she couldn't find any. "Oh we took all of those ink filled viles from you" the woman said as she stood up and walked closer to the cell. Y/N walked up as well and knocked on it. "You're not gonna get out so I suggest you cooperate" the woman said and the girl just growled under her mask before turning around. She walked into the middle of the room before plopped down onto the floor with her legs crossed. "Well looks like we won't be going anywhere for awhile then" the girl said as she closed her eyes and tilted her head back a little. "Guess so I got all day and I don't plan on moving" the woman said as she sat back down on the chair and leaned back slightly.
It's been two hours and the girl wasn't talking at all. The other Avengers were getting annoyed so Steve walked down and shooed Wanda away. Steve unlocked the cell before walking in and shutting it behind him. The girl stood up and let herself get shoved against the glass cell. "Tell us who the hell you are" Steve growled out and the girl smirked under the mask. "Oh I'm afraid I can't" the girl said and her blindfold was ripped off causing her to blink her eyes to adjust to the light. When she opened her eyes they were a sky blue color making Steve loosen his grip on the girl. He was shoved away by the girl kicking him in the stomach. He fell to the ground as the girl looked down at him. "Y/N" he stuttered out as he looked up at the girl. The door to the room opened and Bucky rushed in before stopping dead in his tracks. Y/N sighed before taking her mask off and throwing it to the side. "Hello Stevey and Buck long time no see" Y/N said as she held her fists up while smirking. The two looked at Y/N in shock as they saw the scars on her face. "Y/N how" Bucky said and Y/N just smiled showing off her white teeth. "I could ask you the same thing you should be dead and god knows where you were" Y/N spat out as she clenched her fists tightly. The two looked at Y/N's right hand to see it was a robotic one. On her left hand there was a deep scar on the top of it.
Tumblr media
"We don't want to fight" Steve said as he got up and put his hands up in surrender. "Hmm seemed like you wanted to a couple seconds ago until I beat your ass" Y/N said and buckey laughed as Steve rolled his eyes. "Why were you in that Hydra base alone" Bucky asked and Y/N looked at him before narrowing her eyes. "I was meant to knock you guys all out before everyone got back but guess that didn't happen" Y/N said as she put her hands down. "Come on we'll introduce you to the team" Steve said before turning around. Bucky opened the cell door and Y/N tackled Steve out of the cell causing the two to go tumbling to the ground with Y/N on his back. "You really shouldn't turn your back on someone you haven't seen in a hundred years" Y/N said before she stood up and walked away dragging Bucky with her. Steve stood up and brushed himself off before following the two.
The three walked into the living room and everyone that was there looked up. "Why the hell is she out of her cell" Tony shouted and Y/N rolled her eyes before looking away. "Turns out she's an old friend of ours" Steve said as he stepped beside Y/N. "So it doesn't matter she should be locked up in a cell she works with hydra she can't be trusted" Bruce said as he stood up. Y/N looked over and licked her lips. "You're right I can't be trusted" Y/N said as she swung her leg and made Bucky and Steve fall to the ground onto their knees. Tony stood up as well and held his hand out. Y/N looked over to see the brown haired woman still sitting down on the couch with a raised eyebrow. Y/N walked over and plopped herself down next to the woman and put her legs on the woman's lap. "You're really pretty what's your name" Y/N said as she leaned in slightly. "It's Wanda Maximoff you're quite bold Hon" The brown haired woman said causing Y/N to smirk. "Well thank you it's part of my personality" Y/N continued and Wanda smirked before leaning in. "Mmm are you sure about that, I can see through you I can tell you're trying so hard not to blush right now" Wanda whispered out and Y/N gulped. Wanda's smirk widened when Y/N looked away while blushing. Y/N stood up and was about to walk away but Wanda wrapped her hand around Y/N's wrist.
"What the hell just happened" Tony said and Sam stood up before patting Tony's shoulder. "She tricked you and Bruce that's what happened" Sam said before he laughed as he walked out of the living room. "Y/N can you stop flirting with every woman you think is hot" Bucky said and Y glared at him. "Shut up old man" Y/N growled out. Y/N tried to pull her wrist free from Wanda's grip but the grip tightened. "So you think I'm hot" Wanda teased causing Y/N to blush even more. "Can you let me go now" Y/N said as she turned around to look down at Wanda. "And why would I do that" Wanda asked as she looked up at Y/N with that hot smirk of her's. "Because I said so plus I could use my powers on you if you don't" Y/N said making Wanda chuckle before she stood up and towered over Y/N. "Try it I can stop you with a flick of my wrist" Wanda challenged as she looked down at Y/N. "Alright alright stop it you two" Bucky said as he pulled Wanda's grip off of Y/N's wrist. Y/N stuck her tongue out at Wanda and Wanda did the same thing back before sitting back down onto the couch.
"Hiya Wands" Y/N said as she walked into the kitchen the next morning to see Wanda making breakfast. "Oh hello sweet thing" Wanda teased which made Y/N huff. "I'm not sweet" Y/N said and Wanda laughed at that. "Okay sure" Wanda said which made Y/N growl under her breath. Y/N stormed out of the kitchen bumping into Bucky on the way. "Good morning doll" Bucky said but Y/N stormed past him. Bucky looked over to see Wanda smiling down at the food she was making for the team. "What did you say to her" Bucky said as he walked over. "All I did was call her a sweet thing" Wanda chuckled out. Bucky shook his head before walking to the fridge and opening it.

A not so bad Idea 3/3
Summary; Sharon is back and y/n is certain that's it for her and Steve's relationship... He will always choose a Carter woman. Right?
Warnings; some angst, swears, Sharon's a bitch. Fluff.
Pairings; Platonic Bucky x Reader.
Steve x reader.
Part 3 to Bad Idea and Very Bad Idea
💫💞
She doesn't want to see Sharon and Steve together and immediately takes refuge in her room.
Bucky follows her and closes the door behind him gently.
"Doll, come here". He motions to her and she lets him hold her.
"Why didn't you tell me how you felt sweetheart? I heard you say to Steve?".
Shit.
"You didn't feel the same so I kept quiet, got drunk one night slept with Steve then ended up falling for him. Sure can pick 'em right?"
Bucky softens.
"I love you doll, not in that way but I do love you. I'm sorry I was a dick about you and Stevie. You're beautiful inside and out and I want you to be happy, Steve too".
She wipes her eyes.
"Did you miss the part about Sharon being back? You know what he's like with Carter women Buck". He sighs and presses a gentle kiss on her hair.
"It's going to be okay doll, I promise you".
She really wishes she could believe that.
💫🌻💫🌻
Sharon corners her the minute she's alone. God, can she just catch a break? What the hell did she want now?
"You know I worried about you when I was with Steve. He told me not to be but I fucking saw the way he looked at you, not that you noticed. Too busy simping over Barnes to notice".
She's stunned at Sharon's revelation but barely gets a word in when Sharon is on the offence again.
"Oh, don't give me that innocent act. Get this into your thick skull. He may fuck you but he will always choose me".
Anger spikes inside her and she's fed up with Sharon talking to her like shes a piece of shit.
"I don't know what Steve sees in you. From what Steve told me about Peggy she sounded wonderful. You're nothing like her so don't sit getting high and mighty with me. Leave me alone".
She storms past Sharon liking the way that smug smirk falls from her face and walks straight into Steve.
He steadies her. Blue eyes full of concern.
"Honey?". Sharon walks up to them both, glaring at her with complete viciousness then bats her eyes at Steve.
"Steve baby, tell her you've made your choice. She needs her to know her place". Steve stares at Sharon with an unreadable expression on his features.
"You're right. I have made my choice". She tenses knowing what's going to happen and doesn't want to face the humiliation of finding out in front of Sharon.
"Well, we can't win them all sweetie can we Bye-bye now". Sharon tells her triumphantly and she's this close to slapping the bitch.
"Sharon, leave". Steve replies firmly. Wait... What?
"Oh, you want to tell her in private babe? Okay, I get it". She nods and Steve scowls.
"No. I want you to leave. I told you. I've made my choice". Sharon's smile is wiped off her face and y/n stares up at Steve hardly daring to believe what's happening.
"You're choosing her!". Sharon shrieks and Steve nods.
"What we have doesn't work Sharon, it never has. I'm tired of pretending it does. Being with y/n these last few weeks... It's opened my eyes to what and who I want".
Sharon gapes at him.
"It's sex. It's just sex, Steve. It's clouding your mind". Sharon huffs folding her arms and glowering at him.
"It isn't just sex. I'm in love with her Sharon, you can't just come crawling back every fucking time expecting me to just be waiting for you. I fell in love with y/n and she's who I want to be with. You and me? We're done for good".
Sharon screams in fury and moves towards Steve raising her hand but y/n captures it fuming.
"Don't you dare, leave Sharon. Now!". Sharon tugs her hand away.
"You used me, Steve, just to feel close to Peggy again! Just as well you can't get Peggy back because y/n and I would be left in the dust". Sharon snaps and Steve scowls.
"Sharon I could have stayed with Peggy when I returned the stones. I didn't, she moved on and was happy, like how happy I am now".
This shuts Sharon up and she storms out cursing along the way.
Steve swears under his breath and y/n giggles.
"Language Cap". His furious expression melts and he strokes her cheek.
"I'm sorry about all of that sweetheart". He pulls her into his arms and kisses her.
"S'kay. You didn't know she would show up".
"I'm still sorry sweetheart, should have told you before how I felt. Made it romantic, I love you honey so much".
She kisses him tenderly, heart soaring in happiness.
"I love you too Steve, I've fallen so in love with you". His lips meet hers in sweet, soft butterfly kisses.
"Get your coat baby, I'm taking you out, get some dinner with my best girl". Beaming she hurries to get her coat and takes Steves's hand passing a smiling Bucky and Natasha as she does.
Finally, she has her happy ending.

I can deny requests at my discretion!

I Am A Cat's Eye — 0: Disclaimer + characters
Tumblr media
Summary —
After losing everything and everyone in his life due to the Mysterio incident, Peter Parker begins his new life in college. Unbeknownst to him, the cat that appears at his window after patrol is more than just a flea ridden stray.
Tumblr media
disclaimer — THIS IS A PLATONIC PETER PARKER X READER, Y/N AND PETER ARE GOING TO HAVE A SIBLING-LIKE RELATIONSHIP
CHARACTERS — DO TONY, NATASHA, AND STEVE SURVIVE ENDGAME?
Yes. ‼️ It's been years since I've watched Endgame, but I'm still in grief, so I kept Tony, Natasha, and Steve alive 😭
WHAT HAPPENED TO THEM?
Tony fucked up his arm after snapping his fingers instead of dying. Now he has a prosthetic arm that goes from his forearm to his hand.
Natasha survived that ugly ass planet bc she's my goat ‼️
Steve decided to sit down his stupid ass instead of going after Peggy like the idiot he is (I'm still mad at him, sorry).
Steve retired from being Captain America and passed down the shield and title to Sam Wilson. [The events of FATWS still occur.]
The events of HAWKEYE and ECHO still occur.
Bruce retired the Hulk. The events of She-Hulk still occur.
The events of Far from Home and No Way Home still occur. (Duh)
No one remembers who Peter Parker is.
Y/N — BASIC CHARACTER DESCRIPTION
1.Human-like appearance with obvious cat features like fur, ears, slit and dilated pupils, tail, and fur patterns;
Y/n is a Beastman mutant, not a mutate like Peter, Wanda, Steve, etc. This obviously means that other mutants exist in this universe, including the X-men. Y/n is approximately 17 years old, with their birthday and place of birth unknown. Y/n's cat appearance is that of an adolescent cat, but I'll refer to them as a 'kitten' throughout the story. This might change. Y/n's mutation allows them to take the shape of three forms, being:
2.Anthropomorphic cat, AKA big kitty;
3.Cat.
That being said, enjoy the story! :]
