in the same way, since forever [ E. MUNSON ]
summary -- when your boyfriend cheats on you, eddie takes you to get ice cream. and then a love confession ensues. warnings -- cheating, little bit of angst, explicit language, mentions self injury but it's not really graphic, fluff, best friends to lovers because i'm a whore for that trope, riverdale reference (if you squint and understand riverdale) authors note -- the pea sized brain + riverdale mention is specifically dedicated to my very lovely best friend + twisted sister @starbxcks
Tumblr media
Tears clouded your vision as you stormed into the drama room where your best friend, Eddie Munson, held the weekly Hellfire Club D&D meetings. You threw yourself down into Eddie's chair, soaking in the five minute peace that you'd have before they all showed up.
They're loud as they enter the room, all fired up as they discuss their latest campaign. You don't care enough to pay attention, and they don't seem to see you, until Eddie himself walks in. You're too busy crying into your hands to miss the look of concern which plasters itself across his face, you even miss the way he sends everyone out. Eddie knows something is wrong, and he knows this is a private conversation.
Crouched down in front of the chair, he rests his hands on your knees, and you look up at the sudden contact. "Hey pretty girl." His voice is gentle, and the two of you know he'll never live it down if someone catches him being this soft. "What's happened? Has someone hurt you? Has Josh hurt you?"
You sniff, clenching your manicured hands into fists at the sound of his name. You don't care about the way your palms sting, you just care about the way your heart has been split wide open. "Hey, don't do that." Eddie admonishes you, taking your hands in his. "You'll hurt yourself. Talk to me, sunshine. What's going on?"
Fat, hot tears are still leaving sticky tracks on your cheeks, but you know there's nothing that Eddie can solve if he's not clued into the problem. "I caught him with another girl!" You cry out, gasping for breath as the situation becomes real. "It's meant to be our six month anniversary, so I was going to wait for him by his locker. But I caught him kissing one of the cheerleaders."
You can practically feel the anger radiating off Eddie. It's bright red, boiling, and you're positive that if life was a cartoon, smoke would be billowing out of his ears. Everyone knows how much Eddie hates the basketball team, Josh even more so, but he knows there is no place for anger in this moment. "Oh sunshine." Eddie soothes you, dropping your hands in favour of wrapping you into the biggest hug possible.
As Eddie gently sways the two of you side to side, he's trying to think back to all the times you might have shown even a hint of unhappiness in your relationship with Josh, the asshole basketball player. All he can think about is the times you had defended Eddie, got teased by the basketball team for the way you dressed, judged for who you hung out with. And the red flags are becoming even more obvious by the second.
He knows that he has to do something, D&D game be damned. There's practice on tonight, he recalls, and whilst his actions in this moment can only be small, it'll be enough for now. "You up for getting a little revenge on the guy, Y/n?" Eddie knows to ask you before he acts. After all, you're the one who has been hurt.
You sniffle, looking at him through weary eyes. You're confused, and you must show it because Eddie gets the same shit-eating grin on his face whenever he gets an idea. "Been thinking about stealing their clothes." He confesses, not at all missing the way you raise your brow. "Then I was thinking about taking my favourite girl to Scoops Ahoy."
You can feel your heart rate increase as Eddie calls you his favourite girl. It's not a new one, he'll call you his favourite girl from time to time, but it still has that new feeling to it. But you like it. Like how it makes you feel warm, and loved. And his.
You nod, slowly but it's there, and Eddie gets this smile of pure delight on his face. He presses one, then two, then three kisses to your forehead with the promise of being back in ten minutes before he runs out of the room. The smile that he leaves behind fills the room and you could bathe in his sunshine forever.
Something you discovered quite early into the friendship is that Eddie Munson does not do empty promises. If he promises ten minutes, he makes it his life mission to return within that allocated time. Eddie's a good person like that. He is wise, and kind, and loyal. And whilst he may not be academically smart, you know you'd be oh-so-lost without him.
"Come on then, my lovely girl." Eddie's back with an even brighter smile, lingering in the door way with keys in his hand and waiting just for you. And you must be so much more in love than you think, because all it takes is one smile from him and you know you'd follow him into the unknown.
Or, Scoops Ahoy, at the very least. The drive is filled with Eddie's music, his rhythmic tapping on the steering wheel, and it's something you want forever. The moment ends too soon, and before you know it, Eddie's pulled into the parking lot. The walk to Scoops Ahoy is mostly quiet, and the weight of his arm loosely sprawled across your shoulders feels like it might suffocate you. And oh — how it feels cold when he removes it.
"I just don't understand how you enjoy that flavour." Eddie grimaces, and you'd think he was judging you if not for the sweet smile reserved only for you. It's like a secret love confession. And even though you're acutely aware that it is not a confession of love, the smile you give back most definitely is one.
You must get lost in the moment, because before you can really make sense of it all, it's an hour later and your piece of shit ex boyfriend is storming in; completely destroying the piece of heaven you're trying to build up for yourself. "Are you fucking kidding me?" He snarls, and you're not scared. But Eddie Munson is ready to jump to your defence anyway.
But you don't need him to. "I caught you kissing one of the cheerleaders." You state with a cold tone to your voice that catches Eddie by surprise — not that he's in any hurry to admit it. "I caught you kissing a cheerleader on our six month anniversary. So, I'm sorry if your pea sized brain hasn't clued into this yet but we're over. And I'm enjoying ice cream with someone I love more than I have ever loved you."
And you don't mean to say that last part, you really don't. But as the basketball player walks away, seething (but you don't really care), Eddie looks at you with such love in his eyes that it feels like the world has slowed down. "You love me?" His voice is quiet, but you hear him anyway.
"Always have. Just never sure if you loved me the same way." You confess, elbows on the table so your hands can take the weight of your head. And Eddie mimics the way you're sat, close enough to you that you can feel your foreheads touching.
And then he kisses you. And the world stops. And even though he doesn't say it himself, you both know he doesn't have to. Because he's loved you the same way since forever.

Radio Silence - Steve Harrington
Tumblr media
Hey guys! This is my first ever fic, I hope you like it! I’ve become a real Steve simp recently and this is a product of that. Please be kind, but I’d love any notes/feedback you guys have! Also, please don’t steal my work! Thanks in advance, y’all.
Summary: You and Steve are best friends, until one day he stops talking to you for seemingly no reason.
Word Count: ~2.5k
Warnings: One mention (literally less than a sentence) of a parent in less than stellar health, but otherwise none! Also, both reader and Steve are of age in this fic. I tried to be gender-neutral as well, but please correct me if I messed up at all!
Steve wasn’t talking to you. At least, that’s what you’d gathered from the fact that he, well, wasn’t talking to you. You weren’t sure exactly what you’d done wrong, but you knew one thing: he was pissed. The two of you were inseparable, thick as thieves since you’d moved to Hawkins in middle school, and even after he became the “King,” and the two of you had fallen into different crowds, the two of you would always make time for each other, whether it was studying for class during the week, catching a movie on the weekend, or just general dumbassery whenever you two had a free moment. You two were peas in a pod, and although neither of you would admit it, time apart was brutal.
Things changed a little more than slightly when he started dating Nancy. For you, at least. It meant seeing Steve less and less, and you were happy for him, but you were also a little sad. Steve was your best friend, and with every science test that passed or new movie that released, you were reminded of how things were, and how you had been replaced. Steve didn’t notice, and if he did, he didn’t say anything. You were still his best friend, and Nancy was his girlfriend, and life was pretty great.
That was, until Nancy dumped him for Jonathan Buyers, he lost his friends, and his world came crashing down in front of him. You welcomed him back with open arms, even after he fell to the bottom of the social totem pole. You were there for him through it all: you were there for the shit with his parents, and when he didn’t get into college. You even stayed back for him, passing up your dream school in favor of the local community college, although Steve never needed to know that. For all he knew, NYU had rejected you, and you stayed at home so that you could be with your family. You had a four-year old brother who adored you, and your mom wasn’t in the best health. Those were reason enough to stay, and Steve wasn’t going to challenge that.
So, movie nights resumed. Study sessions looked a little different now, with Steve helping you instead of the other way around, but you were just happy to be back to normal with Steve. (Except for the monsters.)
Except, things weren’t normal. Not for Steve. Something had shifted for him after Nancy broke up with him. If he was being honest, something had shifted for him a long time before that, but he wouldn’t admit it to himself. Every day contained some new and terrifying…thing that he had to deal with, whether it be the Upside Down, some crazy monster, or something else entirely, and you were the only constant he had. He needed you more than anything, more than air, water, food--even more than his hair. Hell, he’d almost shaved his head when you called it stupid one time during a fight. He loved you, and he was finding it hard to keep that to himself.
That’s why it hurt so much when you told him you’d been studying with a guy you met at school. Alex Cunningham, you said his name was. You flaked on Steve to study for an upcoming mathematics test, and that was just the first time. Your study sessions became replaced by study sessions with Alex, and Steve started spending most of his weekdays at Scoops Ahoy or with the kids.
It’s when you ditched him for movie night that really pushed him over the edge. He was waiting outside the theater for twenty minutes, and when you didn’t show he went to your house to make sure you were okay. Your mom told him you weren’t home, that you had gotten picked up an hour prior by “a nice boy from school.” She invited him inside to wait, but he declined and went home, a mix between angry and depressed. He didn’t sleep that night, and when his alarm went off in the morning, he was still filled with emotion. At first he didn’t know what to do, so he decided to just keep going on as normal, as if nothing had happened.
That didn’t last long.
You came into Scoops Ahoy around noon, a smile on your face and a wave directed at him. He started waving back, but stopped when he saw the sweater fit comfortably on your body. It was…new, and at further inspection it looked a little bit oversized, as if it belonged to someone else.
Alex Cunningham.
“Hey, man, can you take them for me?” He asked his coworker. “I gotta get something from the back.” He practically ran out of the front and into the storage area, nearly slamming the door on his way. You waited for him to come back, but after an inexplicable amount of time had passed you decided to leave.
Since that half-wave, Steve hasn’t interacted with you or even looked in your direction. You seek him out during the week, going out of your way to Scoops Ahoy or whichever house the kids are hanging out at--where Steve is no doubt bound to be--but every time you show up he leaves, or busies himself with something on his own, or just straight-up ignores you. You’ve asked him plenty of times what you did wrong, to warrant the treatment you were getting, but he’d just roll his eyes or scoff. The kids didn’t know either, and if they did they weren’t telling you.
It all came to a head one day in the middle of August. You’d stopped trying to talk to Steve, for the most part, and he hadn’t seen you in months. There were a few times when he’d driven to your house and sat there, contemplating coming clean before driving off and going home. The truth is, however much you thought you missed him, he missed you more, the feeling multiplying tenfold along with the guilt he felt for cutting you out of his life. As time passed he felt you slipping away, the opportunity to make things right getting smaller and smaller.
He and Robin were playing paper football at Scoops Ahoy when the phone rang.
“If I make this, you’re getting it,” Robin said quickly before flicking the paper triangle through his fingers.
“Fuck you, Buckley,” he said, pointing at her. He picked up the phone. “”Scoops Ahoy, how can I help you?”
“Hey, Steve, it’s Y/N. Listen, I know we’re not talking, but--”
He hung up the phone. A little bit too aggressively, because Robin looked up from what she was doing and asked, “Who was that?”
He shrugged. “Wrong number.”
The phone rang again, and his eyes widened slightly. “Don’t pick it up.”
“Why?” Robin asked, laughing. “One of your dates calling to cancel?” She picked up the phone and put on an exaggerated customer service voice. “Scoops Ahoy!” She glared at him when she realized who it was and that he had hung up on them. “Hey, Y/N, how’s it going? Sorry about Steve, he’s a dumbass. Yeah, I know, right?” She nodded her head as the conversation went on. “Uh huh, mhm, yeah, I know we have some. Anything else you need? Okay, see you in a bit.” She hung up the phone and turned back to look at Steve. “You’re a dick.”
“What did she want?”
“It’s her brother’s birthday, asshole. She wanted to know if we had any candles so she could do a little celebration for him here.”
“She’s coming here?”
“That’s what I just said, isn’t it?”
“Alright, I’m leaving,” Steve said, grabbing his coat from the rack behind the counter.
“Uh, no you’re not,” Robin rebutted, yanking him back. “Your shift doesn’t end for hours and I am not closing this place by myself.”
“I don’t want to see her.”
“I don’t care! What’s your problem, anyways? I thought you guys were best friends.”
“We are.”
“Doesn’t seem like it to me.”
“Friends fight, okay? This is totally normal.”
“Friends fight, yes, but you guys haven’t talked in months, and from what I understand, that’s all on you.” She flicked him. “So what’s the deal?”
“Ask Alex Cunningham.”
“Who?”
“Y/N’s new boyfriend.”
“Y/N doesn’t have a--”
The two are interrupted when you enter with your younger brother. “Steve!” He shouts, running over to give Steve a hug. Forgetting his conversation with Robin, Steve picks him up.
“Hey buddy! How are you? Being good, I hope?”
Your brother nodded his head. “Today’s my birthday!”
“I know today’s your birthday! How could I forget? You’re turning ten today right?”
“No, five!” Your brother said, laughing.
“Fifty?” Steve joked back.
“No, five!”
“Five hundred?”
“No, five!”
“Ohh, you’re turning five today. You’re so big! You want some ice cream?” Your brother nodded enthusiastically and Steve put him down, leading him over to the counter. “Whatever you want, it’s on the house, okay?”
Your brother ordered a double-decker hot fudge sundae that both you and Steve knew he wouldn’t finish and ran over to one of the tables.
“You want anything?” Steve asked, and you had to physically stop the shock from showing on your face. “It’s on the house, like I said.”
“You’re speaking to me today?” You asked back, a little too assertive.
“Fine, don’t get anything. Not my problem,” he replied nonchalantly, as if he didn’t care whether or not you ordered. The truth is, he knew what you’d order, and he wanted to show you he remembered. But you didn’t get anything, instead rolling your eyes and walking over to the table with your brother.
After a few minutes of glaring back and forth across the room between you and Steve, your brother called out. “Steve! Come sit with us!”
“I can’t, buddy, I’m working,” Steve replied, looking for any excuse to stay away from you.
Robin cut in. “Go ahead Steve,” she said, loud enough for you and your brother to hear. “It’s not busy, go sit with the kid for his birthday!”
He glared at her. “Thanks a lot, Robin,” he said through gritted teeth.
She smiled back. “No problem.”
He came and sat next to your brother but didn’t say anything. That was fine, because as he’d come to realize, when you give a five-year-old ice sugar and silence, they’ll do anything to fill it.
“Steve, are you and that girl friends?” He asked, pointing to Robin.
Steve chuckled. “Yes, buddy. That’s my friend Robin.”
“She’s pretty,” your brother responded. “Hi, Robin!” He shouted, turning to wave at her.
“Hi!” She waved back.
“I totally forgot, one second,” you said, going up to the counter. You grabbed the candle from Robin and stopped to talk to her for a few minutes, leaving Steve and your brother alone for a man-to-man discussion.
“Steve, do you like Y/N?”
Steve looked over at him. “Yeah, of course I do. Y/N is my best friend.”
“No!” Your brother responded, throwing his hands in the air. “I mean, do you like-like Y/N?”
“What? No. No, buddy, I do not like-like Y/N. Besides, they’ve got a boyfriend, anyways.”
You come back to the table, oblivious to the conversation the two had just had, until your brother said, “Steve said you have a boyfriend.”
You looked up in shock, surprised that Steve had said anything about you at all. “Did he now? Who would that be?”
“I dunno,” Your brother answered. “Who is it, Steve?”
“Some guy named Alex, from what I heard,” Steve grumbled.
“Some guy named Alex,” your brother repeated. He was acting as the messenger between the two of you, since neither of you were speaking to each other.
“Well, tell Steve that I haven’t talked to Alex in months, and it’s none of his business who I talk to or don’t talk to.”
“Y/N says they haven’t talked to Alex in months,” your brother stated.
“...And?” You coaxed him.
“And it’s none of your beeswax!”
“Tell Y/N it became my business when they ditched me for movie night. And when they came in wearing his sweater back in January. And when they pretended like nothing was wrong and didn’t even apologize.”
Your brother started talking, but quickly looked back at Steve. “Can you say that again? I forgot part of it.”
“It’s okay, I got it, bud,” you told him. You looked over at Steve. “Is that why you stopped talking to me? Because I forgot about movie night?”
“You ditched me! I was waiting twenty minutes for you, and then I went to your house to make sure you were okay, and then your mom told me that you went out with this Alex guy and I’m sitting there looking like an idiot. And then the next day you come in with his sweater on like I’m not supposed to be upset about that, and then you try to talk to me like nothing’s wrong--”
“Why would you be upset about that? Why does it matter whose clothes I wear?”
“Why do you think, Y/N?”
You paused for a moment, taking in the weight of his confession. “Say it, Steve.”
“What?”
“Say it. Tell me what you’re trying to say right now, because if you’re bullshitting me I will never forgive you--”
His lips were on yours in an instant. He crossed the table with impressive speed, the corner of the wood digging into his abdomen, but he didn’t care. He’s wanted to tell you--needed to tell you--for so long, and if there was ever a time to do it, it was now. He pulled away slowly, eyes closed, not wanting to see the reaction on your face until he was sure he was ready. When he opened them, your eyes were staring back into his, a mixture of confusion, surprise, and relief.
“Was that okay?” Steve asked.
You nodded. “That was…nice.”
“That was gross!” Your brother shouted, breaking the two of you out of your bubble. “No kissing on my birthday!”
“I’m sorry, bud,” You said at the same time as Steve. “Should we light your birthday candle so you can make a wish?”
“Yes!” Your brother yelled out. “I wish I could never see the two of you kiss ever again!”
“Well, we haven’t lit the candle yet, and you told us your wish, so it’s not coming true,” Steve said, leaning in to kiss you again.
Ignoring the shouts of your brother, you kissed Steve back. “Does this mean we’re talking again?”
“If you’ll have me back.”
You laughed to yourself as you lit the candle. “You got it, Harrington.”

🍝 — favorite food(s)
Tumblr media
˖ ࣪ . 🍝 — Favorite food(s) ?
My favourite early meals are Eggo waffles, Lucky Charm cereals, and Oreo + Chip Ahoy cookies; while my favourite late meals are Pho, sushi ( mainly take California and spicy crab rolls ), and spaghetti! I find myself to be a massive spicy and savory loving star! I love to add everything with hot sauce or peppers. My lil' brother will often ask me, why are you always crying? 🤨 and I will just stare at like my bowl of rice and eggs and ribs and way so many pepper chunks before being like, "Because I just love spicy food too much, my dude... :( " He'll always shake his head at me in response... Sugary food is delightful as well! Sour candies and caramel chocolate are my favourite sweets! I love eating Sour Patch Kids and soda pop gummy and Caramilk so much! In terms of fruits and vegetables, I highly enjoy eating mango, peaches, pineapples; peas, sprouted beans, and sweet corns! (๑˘︶˘๑) And hot peppers, sure....

Lost 2lbs(.91kg) after a 2 week binge where I gained 4lbs(1.8kg). So overall 2lb gain(.91kg), but I’m less hungry now & my calorie dense foods are mostly gone 😆 I learned blueberries are good to have around because I can barely finish a cup but even if I were to eat a pound of blueberries it would be less calories than 4 small chips ahoy cookies. Having a whole pack of cookies is unnecessary and stupid. Having harvest pea snaps and blueberries is good enough. Will update on more weight loss just gotta take it day by day. I’m at 8lbs(3.63kg) lower than at the start of the year. Gotta remember the process & not be discouraged. That can lead to binges
Slow progress is still progress. 8lbs lost since the beginning of the year!!

Charlie and Ship Dynamics
Tumblr media Tumblr media
1st we have Charlie and Jonathan
These two have been best fucking friends since the playground days
Charlie literally would beat up bullies for him to defend his honor
And Jonathan was just so timid when they were younger so she felt like she had to protect him
Especially from Tommy because fuck him
Season 1 & 2 she puts this poor man through so much shit
Season 3 is no better
I have this AU in mind for an alternative season 3 ending and it’s significantly sadder cause why not
Like significant worse LOL
He’s like constantly worried about her
it’s been that way since they were kids and he just kinda got use to it
He quite literally can’t tell her no
Sometimes though he likes to let her lose on the public because people really just piss them off
And it’s not like they don’t deserve whatever fresh hell she can release on Hawkins
Tumblr media
Next we have Charlie and Nancy and these two together are so so much fun
First they both like guns so some times they just go shooting cause why not
They leave Steve and Jonathon at home to do whatever it is they do and they pack a bag full of ammo and snacks to set up their own shooting range in the woods
And they have the best times out there
They just recently became friends again after like years of not speaking to eachother
Cause like pre season 1 Nancy and Charlie did not get alone because she hung out S1 Steve
And Charlie kinda hated Steve
they’re good now though
But she’s dating Jonathan now so they’re two peas in a fucking pod
They are like fericely protective of eachother and it’s like the sweetest thing
Charlie would definitely take a bullet for Nancy and vice versa
The season 3 hospital scene is just them taking turns fucking her boss up
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now for Charlie and Steve LMAO
Season 2 and kinda season 3 Steve and Charlie and just—
Charlie comes up with the worst ideas and most of the time Steve just goes along with it like “omg she’s a fucking genius”
And everyone just goes “no????”
these two together are like so stupid????? Dustin gets a headache sometimes being around them
But like Charlie is actually a nerd so sometimes when they’re ‘babysitting’ Steve has no idea what’s going on he just likes being there
But when they’re together OMG they make so much noise
And the days when for whatever reason they’re not together Billy Steve literally walks around like a kicked puppy
It’s something the kids point out and he just goes
????? What no shut up
Even though it’s very obvious to LITERALLY EVERYONE that there is something there
Both of them are just too stupid
And they all wonder when he will figure it out but at this rate when they graduate college
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next is my two favorite fucking morons
Charlie and Billy
Charlie is very much unaware of the effect she has on Billy and it literally gives him a heart attack almost everyday
And she’s kinda touchy??? Not that he minds but he just isn’t use to it???
He’s not use to someone being so open and honest with him 24/7 and it kinda throws him for a loop
But at the same time he can’t get fucking enough of it
And she’s so smiley and nice and pretty and everything he’s not use to and he just can’t tell her no to anything because of it
She makes him feel like she’s loosing his edge
But like that’s okay because it’s only every with her
Anyone else and he’d beat the living shit out of them
But also he finds her absolutely terrifying??
Because season 2 she like almost shoots him with a shot gun
Yes a fucking shotgun
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then last but not least we have Charlie and Robin
There relationship is something I haven’t got to touch in yet with my fics but
The jist is they get along too well and Steve absolutely hates it
Whenever they’re together they just poke fun at him and he just feels betrayed
Also whenever Jonathon is not around she’s in charge of Charlie
“what did she do today?”
“Tried to push Tommy Hagen down the escalator”
“Ah, that’s actually not that bad”
“??????”
But it’s not the worst job she could have like for example working at scoops ahoy
And Charlie always has bad plans but she figures if she’s apart it maybe less people could get hurt
never does this actually work but
Robin loves Charlie and just doesn’t understand the sorta thing she has with Steve
Because like Charlie is just too cool for Steve in her eyes
But whatever she’ll root for him because he maybe a dingus but he’s her fucking dingus
Artist, not in any order I found their at’s on Twitter

It was time to open Scoops Ahoy and Robin had brought a guest. The guest was a girl. Not Robin’s girlfriend, but just a friend. A special friend. She was living at Robin’s house after moving to Hawkins, so people often asked if she was related to her or not. Alas, these two lovely ladies were not related, just the best of friends. Some would even say they were like two peas in a pod.
Robin shoved open the door to the backroom, giving the mystery girl a tour. She explained things when the girl asked questions, and she waited patiently when the girl needed a few seconds. Robin Buckley was pretty much a different girl when this one was around. She went around the room, showing her friend the things she loved about working at Scoops. Finally, the time came to introduce her to Steve.
The brunette dragged her friend to the counter, “Y/n, this is my coworker, Steve Harrington. Steve, this is Y/n L/n.”
Steve waved at Y/n, smiling at her before turning to Robin. “Is this your new girlfriend or something?”
Y/n burst into laughter as soon as the sentence left his mouth. Robin shortly joined in, leaving Steve to awkward laugh because he didn’t get what was funny about a question. “No, no. I’m not her girlfriend, although she never told me that she came out to anyone besides me...Anyways, I’m just a friend.”
"Just a friend...so you’re straight then?”
More giggles erupted from the girls, Steve making a face and raising an eyebrow to the action. “Harrington, you can’t just assume she’s straight because she’s not dating me.” Robin inhaled, calming herself from her episode of laughter so she could properly respond. “She is straight, but I mean, who’s to say she wouldn’t date me?”
Both girls exchanged looks and giggled again, confusing the poor teenage boy even more. Sadly, the mall was opened and people started racing to the ice cream place, so he had to drop the subject and move on. The good side was that Y/n agreed to talk to him during his lunch break. So Steve, excited to talk to the cute girl, watched the time, checking every 5 seconds. It didn’t help thought. Time felt like it was moving in slow motion, feeling like a whole decade went by once it was finally lunch time.
The two talked most of the time, Steve cracking random jokes that she genuinely laughed at. He learned about her love for painting, family, and y/f/f (your favorite fruit). In exchange, she learned about his passion and career of being a mom. Y/n didn’t believe him when he said he had kids, but after context was included with the explanation, she laughed and informed him that she would love to meet his kids.
After an hour or two of talking, it was time for Y/n to go home. “It’s my dad’s birthday today. I’ll see you tomorrow, yeah?”
Steve nodded and waved goodbye, earning a wave back. He sure was excited to see Y/n tomorrow...
. . .
The brunette dragged her friend to the counter, “Y/n, this is Steve Harrington. Steve, this is Y/n L/n.”
“Didn’t you already introduce us?” Robin’s eyes widened and she shook her head quickly.
“I don’t believe we’ve met before. I’m Y/n..as she said.” She shook hands with Steve, who kept making weird faces at Robin. “I’m sorry, do you have a problem with her or something?”
“No! I’m just confused...um do you wanna talk at lunch today? Get to know each other a little more?”
Y/n looked back at Robin. Robin shrugged so Y/n looked back to Steve, “Sure. What time is your lunch break?”
“Around 12, is that okay?”
“Mhm. I’ll see you then I guess...”
This time, Steve was more confused than excited. Why was she acting weird? Why was Robin acting weird? Was the day repeating itself or something? This was highly unusual. Soon, his lunch break was started, him walking rather than racing to go sit with Y/n. When he sat down, he saw her smile, maybe it was just a joke...
“So, you still wanna meet my kids?”
Y/n almost choked on her water. “Um.. you have kids? Aren’t you a little...well young?”
“What? Ooh.. no, remember? They’re just my friends who I call my children.”
“Sorry. I’m just...yeah... right now. Anyways, how are you?”
“I’m good! How’s painting going for you? Also, I got this y/f/f for you! It’s your favorite, right?”
“How do you know all of this about me. Robin said she’s never even told you about me. Are you stalking me or something?” She stood up, gathering her stuff. “Robin!”
“No! No, it’s okay!” Steve was panicking. What had he done wrong? Why couldn’t this girl remember what he had said before? Why was she assuming he would stalk her?
“Robin! I need to go, like right now!”
In less than a minute, Robin was racing around the corner. “What is it y/n?”
“Your friend. I think he’s stalking me or something, can I just go?”
“I’m not-”
“Zip it Harrington, I need to call Y/n’s dad and let him know she’ll be home early. Come on Y/n, it’s okay.”
Steve followed the girls to the back room, apologizing over and over to Y/n. She eventually left, still not replying to him. Then, Steve did one of the most Steve things ever. Pushing past crowds, he ran out to his car, following behind Y/n’s car as it drove to her dad’s house. When she pulled over, she ran inside, screaming for her father’s help.
“Dad, get this guy to leave me alone!”
Steve hopped out of his car, running to the screen door and knocking. An older man opened it. A buff looking teen in a mesh shirt stood behind the man. They didn’t look very happy. Steve guessed they were the brother and dad she talked about the day before.
“H-hello sir. Um...I’m Steve Harrington, I met your daughter yesterday.”
The man chuckled, opening the door all the way and walking out. “I don’t care, alright? You’re gonna leave her alone and never talk to her again. Now please, leave my home.”
. . .
Steve raced to the two girls so he could introduce himself. “Hello! I’m Robin’s coworker, Steve. Do you like to paint?”
The girl giggled, nodding. “Yes! Do you?”
“Well, I’m not that good at it, but maybe you could teach me?”
“Of course! I’m actually studying to be an art teacher, but since it’s the weekend and I have no homework, I’d be glad to help!”
It wasn’t the weekend. Today was Thursday. What day did she think it was? “Thanks! That means a lot to me.”
“Anytime! I’m Y/n.”
“And Y/n, has to go now.” Robin interrupted the two, sighing sadly.
“What? But I thought your mom said you should give me a tour?”
“Yes, a tour before you go home. Your dad wants you.”
“Oh yeah! It’s his birthday haha, catch you later Steve!” She waved and left the mall, only making Steve more curious. However, for the first time, his questions were answered when Robin pulled him into the back room.
“Steve. Her father banned her from staying here, thanks to you.”
“What did I do?”
“Oh Steve...she has amnesia. She’ll never remember you. That’s why she was so freaked out yesterday. That’s why she isn’t in school. That’s why she thinks today is the weekend. Her dad’s birthday was the day it all...happened.. You can’t have any form of relationship with her. She’ll never remember you.” Steve opened his mouth to respond before Robin interrupted him once again. “And before you say you didn’t plan on it, I’ve seen the way you look at her and how sad you were when she didn’t remember you.”
“Oh...what type of..amnesia?”
“Anterograde. She only remembers her family, me, my family, and some other things. She’ll never remember you or anyone she meets.”
Robin had faith that Steve would give up on Y/n, seeing as a person would want the girl to remember them if they were in a relationship...but the reasons of her faith were her opinion. Steve wasn’t going to give up. Not now, not ever.
Every day, Steve drove to the road to her house, finding new ways to get her attention so they could chat And so he could flirt. The first day he asked her for a jump because his car “wasn’t working.” The next day he was unsuccessful, waiting in his car with roses and a poster for her. Sadly, she dropped something in her car, not looking over to him because she was grabbing it. The third day went..well poor Dustin and Mike were scared out of their minds.
Y/n saw the two boys egging Steve while he was curled up in a ball on the ground, crying for help. She chased the kids until they were out of sight, then helped Steve wipe all the egg shells off of himself. Dustin and Mike didn’t forgive Steve for a bit.
Fourth attempt..Steve managed to get Eleven’s help, having her bump Y/n’s car into Steve’s, not damaging either, but still making it enough to scare Y/n. The teen jumped out, apologizing to Steve.
It was usually successful, Y/n always fell for his charms at the end of their conversations. At one point he even got her phone number, but he knew he could never use it.
He made her fall in love with him everyday. It made them both happy. And Y/n’s dad noticed. Today was around the 67th time he waited for her. Not to his favor, her dad showed up this time. Y/n had talked to him today but had to hurry home due to her father finding out of Harrington’s “meetings” with her. The buff brother of her’s was behind their dad again, possibly flexing his muscles to make up for something.
“Sir, I’m really sorry, I can st-”
“No, come with me. Sit in the back with y/b/n.” Steve nodded and did as Y/n’s dad instructed him to do. He was honestly to scared to argue.
When they arrived at the house, y/b/n and his dad took Steve to a shed. Inside the shed, a lovely voice was singing. The song wasn’t that familiar to Steve, but it seemed quite familiar to the men standing next to him. Y/b/n opened the door slightly, allowing them to see Y/n as she painted a mural on the walls.
“I can’t smile without you, I can’t smile without you. I can’t laugh, and I can’t sing, I’m findin’ it hard to do anything!” She dipped her paintbrush into the paint before continuing. “You see I feel sad when you’re sad, I feel glad when you’re glad. If you only knew, what I’m going through, I just can’t smile!”
Closing the door, her father turned to Steve. “She sings this every day that she meets you. It was her mom and I’s wedding song.”
Steve felt honored, even blushing a bit. He really meant a lot to the girl, and he didn’t even know. Even if she couldn’t remember him the next day, it was making him, Y/b/n, and Y/n’s dad happy.
“It makes me think of her mother, and that makes me glad. I originally was going to make you stop when I had found out...but it makes her day.”
Y/b/n scoffed. “But dad. This guy-” He had a lisp. That’s why he was flexing and not speaking. He was flexing so he could make up for lisp. What was so wrong with having a lisp? Maybe he was insecure? Steve didn’t think anything bad of it though.
“Oh shut up y/b/n. Just, keep doin’ what you’re doin’ Steve.”
“Sir yes sir.”
“You don’t have to call me sir, son. Call me y/d/n. And don’t let y/b/n bother you, okay?”
Steve nodded and waved goodbye to the father and son duo, thinking of the next time he would see Y/n. Thinking of new ways to make her fall in love with him. Maybe he’d sing that song to her.
. . .
The brunette was just about to go find Steve so she could introduce him to her friend, however.. Steve had other plans.
“I just can’t smile! Now some people say, happiness takes, so very long to find. Well I’m findin’ it hard, leaving your love behind me! And you see, I can’t smile without you, I can’t smile without you! I can’t laugh and I can’t sing, I’m finding it hard to-” A smile found it’s way onto Steve’s face upon seeing the girls. “Well hello Robin. Who might this lovely woman be?”
Y/n blushed, looking down and moving a foot behind the other in shyness. “I’m y/n. You listen to Barry Manilow too?”
“Fuck yeah I do! Can’t Smile Without You is my all time favorite song.” He felt bad lying, but his heart was begging to see her smile. Plus, he was sure that y/d/n would enjoy that as well.
“Same! It was my mom and dad’s wedding song, so I love it even more. Do you by chance, have time to chat during your lunch break?”
. . .
It had now been a year or so since Y/n had met Steve for the actual first time, and now they had exchanged a kiss a couple times, even gone on dates. He was in love with the woman who could never remember him. Steve was planning on treating Y/n to an ice cream cone as a gift when they “met” but...today wasn’t the best of days for Y/n L/n.
She had the tour as usual, meeting Steve in the special way he made for that day. It all ended horribly though. Steve and Robin walked Y/n to the parking lot, when Y/n noticed a police officer looking at her car and writing a ticket. Robin gave Steve the most terrified look that he’d ever seen.
“What!? You’ve gotta be kidding. Um sir, the tags don’t expire for seven months!”
“They expired May of this year.”
“No! No! No! They expire May of next year!”
Steve rushed over with Robin and another worker by his side. He didn’t know what would happen, but he knew it wouldn’t be good. “Officer I think there’s been a mistake.”
“Well I don’t.” the officer handed Y/n the ticket.
“No, this is ridiculous. I’m not paying this! It’s October!” Y/n turned to the worker, who had a newspaper in their hands. She swiped it from them, “Excuse me, can I borrow this?” The worker nodded as Y/n opened it to the date. “Look, Oct-ober.”
Robin had reached for Y/n’s arms, trying to stop her from reading it. Unfortunately, she was unsuccessful. “Come on Y/n, let’s go back inside.” She knew she was too late by the time Y/n’s face contorted in confusion.
“...What?” Y/n ran to the newspaper box by the door of the mall, grabbing them all out and looking at the dates. “What!?” Running back to her car, she drove home. She demanded to know what was going on. Why was everything wrong?
Her questions were answered. Her father showed her the stack of old newspapers he had printed out from the day of the crash. It was too much for her to handle. She ran outside, crying. The men, including Steve, chased after her, leading them to a dock near her house. She screamed out, asking why. Her father handed her a folder, full of the documents and pictures from her injury..she asked if she could go to the hospital to hear it for herself.
. . .
Y/n was told to sit in front of the TV as a man with nice looking hair put in a VHS tape. When the tape played, her eyes filled with tears, she laughed at some points, but that didn’t mean the tears weren’t there.
“Good morning Y/n! You’ve missed a bit in the past year. Especially some funny moments. So, I came up with a way for you to remember them.” Steve’s prerecorded voice came out through the TV. Recordings that Robin took of Steve and Y/n played, then some of Y/n and Robin, there were even some of Steve’s “kids.” Y/n giggled when she saw a small recording of Dustin mimicking Steve’s hair with his own, teasing him for his love for Y/n. “Ignore that little video...anyways that was Dustin. He’s my favorite kid, but you’re my favorite person.”
Y/n looked over to Steve, who smiled back and gestured to the TV. The final part of the video played, showing the contents of the folder to Y/n. Y/d/n and Y/b/n made curious glances at Steve.
The video had ended with Steve being recorded by Max. “I know what you’re thinking Y/n, and I know that you’re probably confused. Just know that I love you, your dad loves you, Robin loves you, your brother loves you...even Dustin and Mike love you after you chased them and gave them a run for their money. The point is, you are loved and supported, we will always be here for you.”
Steve sighed. He didn’t know if Y/n would react differently than the way she did when she found out with her parking tickets or not.
He was soon found in a warm embrace from his forgetful girlfriend. “So, you’re the man I dream of? That explains a lot..” She may have forgotten him in her brain, but her heart would always remember the man who stole itself from her.

The Hair (Steve Harrington x Henderson! Reader)
When Steve “The Hair” Harrington started hanging around your little brother, you were skeptical, to say the least. Steve was always a jerk to you in high school. Like, always. He rarely spoke to you, but when he did, it was to make some comment about your wacky shoes or frizzy hair, which you could never keep under control. You’d seen the way he treated girls. It was the exact opposite of the way you wanted Dustin to act when he started dating. But you figured you had time to counteract Steve’s influence on your baby brother. After all, Dustin hadn’t ever really expressed a whole lot of interest in the opposite sex. Thus, it came as a big surprise when he returned home from summer camp, talking nonstop about his new girlfriend.
“Her name is Suzie,” Dustin told you the next morning at breakfast, shoveling a spoonful of scrambled eggs into his mouth. “She’s Mormon, so her parents wouldn’t really approve of me-on account of the fact that I’m not Mormon and all. But she’s hotter than Phoebe Cate, and so nice, and, like, the smartest girl ever-ouch!”
Your mother eyed you suspiciously from behind her huge round glasses, but she didn’t question whether or not you had just delivered a sharp kick to your brother’s knee under the table.
“Hey, look, you’re smart, sis, but Suzie is, like, a genius.”
“Right,” you said, rolling your eyes. “She’s as beautiful as Cindy Crawford, smarter than Einstein, and as real as my college acceptance letter.”
Dustin glared at you, his thick eyebrows furrowed into a unibrow. “I thought you got a rejection letter.”
“Exactly.”
It was your turn to receive a painful jab in the leg. He angrily stabbed the last piece of sausage on his plate and shoved it into his mouth.
“She’s real,” he said with a mouthful of half-chewed food.
“I believe you, Dusty,” your mother piped up, reaching over to pat your brother’s arm.
“I don’t.”
With that, Dustin stood. His wooden dining chair protested with a screech against the dining room tile. Under his breath, he mumbled something about how Harvard would probably be knocking on Suzie’s door when she turned eighteen. Then, he stomped down the hall, slamming his door shut. Rock music started blaring almost immediately.
“Real mature, Dusty!” you called after him.
As soon as you returned to your food, you felt your mother’s tear-filled eyes on you.
“What, Mom? We both know she’s not real,” you said.
Your mother removed her glasses, setting them on the tablecloth in front of her. She dabbed at her eyes with her napkin, then reached across the table for your hand. Her palms were calloused, wrinkly, and oily from excessive amounts of lotion. As it drifted up to your nostrils, the scent of sweet pea mixed with the odor of bacon grease.
“I know the last month has been tough for you, sweetie, but it’s been a rough year for Dustin. I haven’t seen him this happy in a while,” she said. Mom lowered her voice before adding, “Even if this girl is just imaginary, if she’s making Dusty smile again, isn’t that all that really matters?”
Jeez. Your mother knew exactly what to say to make you feel guilty.
That’s how, less than ten minutes later, you ended up at the door to your brother’s room, practically begging for forgiveness.
“Go away!” he screamed over the booming music.
“No. Not while you’re still mad at me,” you yelled back.
“Well, then you’re going to be standing there for a while.” Behind the door, you heard a few footsteps, and for a split second, you thought he might actually unlock the door. But then the already-eardrum-splitting volume of the music increased.
“Come on, Dustin,” you whined. “I didn’t mean it.”
The lyrics of Bohemian Rhapsody was the only response.
“Please, Dusty. You just got home. I don’t want to be fighting with you already,” you said, pressing your hand to the door. It vibrated with the beat under your palm. “I’ll take you to the mall if you want. We can get ice cream.”
Faint footsteps, then a slight decrease in the music’s volume.
“Can we go to Scoops Ahoy?”
“I’m pretty sure that’s the only ice cream joint in Starcourt Mall, so yeah.”
The door swung open so fast that your balanced faltered, and you nearly fell forward. Your little brother beamed up at you with his not-so-toothy grin.
“Go get your wallet, loser.”
***
Thirty minutes later, Dustin held open the glass door to the little ice cream joint in the mall. You had already started rifling through your purse for change. Dustin could eat a lot, and he certainly wouldn’t worry about making a dent in your babysitting money. You were honestly just hoping you could make it out of there with enough to pay for the bus fare home.
As you entered the shop, the sound of children giggling mixed with the chime of the bell above your head. Though the nautical theme was a little obnoxious, the store had a cute aesthetic. Blue and white stripes lined the walls behind the backs of red booths. Once you walked in, it was a straight shot to the cash register. An off-white sign announcing all the ice cream flavors hung above a faux window. Two familiar faces were situated behind the tiled counter. The first was Robin, a freckle-faced girl and one of your fellow band geeks. She was chatting with a lanky boy in a hideous blue sailor’s shirt and a dorky white cap that smashed his infamous shiny locks. Even in such an out-of-character outfit, he was instantly recognizable. His eyes lit up when he saw your little brother.
“Henderson? Do my eyes deceive me, or is that you?”
“Steve!”
Your little brother completely forgot his manners and let the door go. You leaped forward, nearly avoiding getting hit as it swung shut. Dustin sprinted toward the counter, his blonde curls bouncing underneath his baseball cap. Steve practically leapt over the counter to greet him.
As you watched, they proceeded to perform the dorkiest handshake in the world, then indulged in a bro-hug.
“How have you been, man? I’ve missed you,” Steve said, his hands still resting on Dustin’s shoulders. He turned to his coworker. “Robin, get this kid a sundae, will you?”
“I didn’t know your legs were broken, dingus,” Robin said, but she complied with his request, anyway.
“We have so much to catch up on,” Dustin said. He slid into the booth nearest to the cash register.
“Yeah, we do,” Steve agreed, taking his place across from Dustin. “Did you have a good time at camp?”
“It was sick, dude. I ate so many s’mores while I was there…”
You walked up to the counter. You didn’t really know Robin well, but you certainly weren’t going to join Steve and Dustin.
“Welcome to Scoops Ahoy,” Robin droned, her back to you as she poured hot fudge over a scoop of vanilla ice cream. “I’ll be with you in a minute.”
You hummed in response. Behind you, Dustin had launched into his Suzie speech-about how she was Mormon, a genius, and hotter than Phoebe Cate. Steve, who you’d never seen with his mouth shut for more than thirty seconds at a time, appeared to be listening intently. He mumbled a few comments, and you strained your eardrums trying to catch them. What was “King” Steve saying to your baby brother?
Robin turned around a few seconds later, clutching a styrofoam cup. The sudden movement startled you so badly that you visibly jumped. Luckily, Robin was too preoccupied to notice. It took a great deal of focus to balance an overfilled ice cream cup.
“Hey, Y/N. What’s up?” She set the ice cream on the counter.
“You know, just buying my brother’s love. The usual.”
Robin chuckled and called, “Order’s up!” Steve’s fluffy mane sprung into motion as he turned his head to face his coworker.
“What, you’re not going to deliver to our table?”
“They don’t pay me enough for that,” Robin said. Her bright blue eyes twinkled with mischief. She turned back to you, a faint grin still dancing on her lips. “Sixty cents, please.”
You returned to the depths of your bag to search for loose change. You managed to scrounge up a few pennies before raising your head once more.
Steve studied you with a curious gaze. He scrunched up his face in what could have just as easily have been confusion or disgust. Then, a visible “lightbulb” moment clicked in his head.
“You’re Dustin’s sister, aren’t you? Y/N Henderson?”
“That would be me,” you said.
Your heart beat heavily against your ribcage. Did intense hatred upset the cardiac rhythm? You didn’t think so-but then again, you never paid much attention in Biology. Steve was partially to blame for that. It’s really hard to pay attention to Mr. Wilson lecture about the functions of the sympathetic nervous system when Steve “The Hair” Harrington sits in the desk right in front of yours, and all you can think about is running your fingers through those thick, shiny curls. Regardless of its owner’s personality, hair like that is impossible to avoid fantasizing about.
“Can I have my ice cream now?” your brother piped up, jolting you from your thoughts.
As you opened your purse, Steve pulled out his wallet. Your lips parted in protest. However, before you could say a word, he passed three dollar bills to the girl behind the counter.
“This should cover the kid’s,” Steve said, “and, of course, whatever the lady wants.”
“No, you don’t need to-”
“You’re Henderson’s sister. I want to,” he said. “Does a vanilla milkshake sound okay?”
You couldn’t conceal the smile that tugged at the corners of your mouth.
“I prefer chocolate,” you said.
“Smart girl,” he said with a wink. “Make that two chocolate milkshakes, please, Robin. I’m going to take my break now so I can catch up with Henderson, okay?”
“I thought you’ve been on a break for the last ten minutes,” Robin said with a roll of her eyes. The cash register popped open, and she inserted the cash. She held the change in her palm for a few extra moments, studying it. “I could probably cover for you a little longer, though, if you let me keep this as a tip. I’ll even deliver to your table.”
“Deal,” Steve said. Robin tucked the coins into her pocket.
Steve grabbed Dustin’s sundae and returned to their booth; the Suzie conversation automatically resumed. Robin ducked into the back room to use the malt machine, and you watched as the translucent door swung shut behind her. You hoped she would return promptly to save you from the awkwardness of lingering around your little brother and his newfound mentor.
“Hey, Y/N, aren’t you going to come sit with us?” a voice asked behind you.
Steve had swiveled around in the booth. His lips were curled upwards into a sweet, unexpectedly shy smile. Your heart skipped a beat, and your feet carried you to the table before your head could tell them to stop. You barely noticed your brother roll his eyes.
“Scoot over, dork,” you ordered.
Dustin swirled his spoon around the cup, turning the pure white ice cream topped with dark chocolate into a light brown mixture. He was clearly unhappy with you infringing on his “guy time,” but he would get over it. Your brother huffed in protest before sliding to one side of the booth to make room for you.
“Anyway,” he sighed, once you were all settled, “before we were so rudely interrupted, where was I?”
“I think you were talking about how she was the most beautiful girl you’d ever seen, and you couldn’t believe you didn’t notice her sooner,” Steve said, chocolate eyes still trained on you.
“Oh, right. So, it’s funny. There were so many campers there, and we were in different groups, so a week actually went by before I talked to Suzie for the first time…”
Dustin’s voice faded into the background. You were too busy thinking about how maybe, just maybe, Steve Harrington didn’t suck quite as much as you once thought.

peas are the perfect medicine
PEAS ARE THE PERFECT MEDICINE - STEVE HARRINGTON
ORIGINAL ASK:  Can you write a Steve Harrington imagine where he’s got a crush on Dustin’s older sister who’s with the kids during whole season three and meets up with Dustin and Steve at the Mall and assess each other’s injuries (his from the Russians and her from the Mind Flyer) and Robin outs his crush?
SUMMARY: during the final battle, all you could think about was how your younger brother was doing. but when you finally see him again, without a scratch visible, you ask: “how on earth are you still alive?” and he replies with one name. “steve harrington.” 1.7k
WARNINGS: swearing, death, gore
sorry, i changed this up a bit. thank you for requesting!
WHEN YOU HEARD that your brother, your brother, Dustin Henderson, the nerdy boy who has no collar bones and can sing and likes comics - yes, your brother - had been taken hostage and escaped by evil Russians, and was now going to save the world, so you had to get as far away from the Starcourt as possible. . .you thought it was a prank call.
“You’re having a laugh,” you said, putting on your coat. You were meant to be meeting your friend Robin at her house for your weekly movie night, but she didn’t call you yesterday when she was meant to. She promised and she didn’t - so you just assumed she was busy. You assumed annual movie night was on like always. Holding the phone to your ear you squint your eyes to listen harder. There was chatter in the background and you furrow your eyebrows.
“Hello? You there?”
“Hello, Y/N-”
Your attention immediately went to the phone as you heard the voice that spoke. “Holy shit! Robin?”
“Oh my, God. Y/N, hey. Listen to me. Get as far away from the Starcourt as possible - don’t ask anything, just go. Dustin is fine - he’s safe, near his field with the- I don’t know. Listen, just-”
“This is a weird movie night, Robin. What’s happening?”
“Y/N, just listen to me! Please, I don’t-”
You sighed, stuffing your foot in your shoe and grabbing your house keys from the table. You put the phone close to your ear and whispered, “see you at the Starcourt Robin.” You put the phone down as your mother approached you. She stroked your hair as you smiled at her. “Weekly movie night.”
“Oh right, okay. Well, see you later?”
“Yeah, yeah. See you!” You kiss your mother on the cheek, before walking through the house to the door. Turning around to make sure your mother wasn’t watching, you grab one of the golf clubs in the hallway, before whistling as if nothing happened. “Bye!”
Your bike ride to the Starcourt took a little longer than expected. You stopped off at the field which Robin mentioned; Dusting showed you this when he wanted you to talk to Suzy - and you did. You thought she was an extremely nice, polite and smart girl. You thought she was perfect for him. You saw him there, walking down the hill. So, you shouted his name and ran up and hugged him.
You were so lucky he was still here - that you got to hug and hold your brother again. “God, Dustin! How the fuck are you even alive?”
He looks at you with a cheesy grin. “You’re going to hate what I say.”
You bring him into a hug again. “How on earth. . .”
“Steve Harrington. And, and Robin. They saved us.”
So, on the bike ride to the Starcourt, he explained everything. Somewhat, you felt a sense of gratitude towards Steve. He practically saved your brother last year, and despite them being ever so close, you had never properly met him. No, you were more on the other side of the school. You hanged with Robin and her friends, rather than Steve and his. You didn’t even hang with Nancy - though you and Barb were acquaintances, exchanging small “hi”s and whatnot.
When you got there, everyone was silent. There was no laughter, or happiness. The two of you thought you had lost.
And perhaps some had. Max had lost someone; Mike almost lost El - in some way everyone had lost.
The first thing you did was hug Dustin’s friends. You felt sorry for them, being so young yet being dragged into a world of unfairness, for Max cried, clutching her dead brother’s body.
You were the one to drag her away. Despite not being awfully close with the group, you still treated them like younger siblings - so you hugged Max until she stopped crying. You hugged her until she just sat, in shock, holding onto your tshit.
When you were ushered out the mall was when you searched for Robin. You told your brother to be safe as you pushed past crowds of police and medics, searching for your best friend.
Then you found her.
You ran up to her and enveloped her in a tight hug. So tight Robin had to remind you that she needed to breathe. Your hands rested on her shoulders as you stared at her with wide eyes.
“You, Miss Buckley, have some explaining to do. Firstly  - what the fuck?”
“That’s my exact thoughs Y/N. What. The. Fuck.”
“Are you hurt?”
“Nope. Steve got the bigger punch.”
Then your eyes move over to look at Steve, sat behind Robin, watching you two with a grin. You had never really talked to Steve; you found him quite mean, of course. He was messy and a douche but somehow he was so. . .dreamy. Robin would always tease you but whether he was a dick or not he was extremely handsome.
Robin grins at you. “Hey, go shot your shot.”
You glare at her. “My what? There’s no shot. A shot? The only thing that’s gonna get shot is you in a minute if you keep talking.” You tap her on the shoulder with a look that made her giggle. “I need to say thanks anyways. So fuck you.”
So, slowly, you approach him. And as you got closer, his face changed from one of happiness to one of panic. He straightened his back and fidgeted and moved his eyes from you and Robin down to the floor.
“Hey, Steve?” Your voice was quiet, almost careful to to scare him. He looked up with wide eyes and you gasped when you see his face up close. He really did take a beating. “Fucking hell.”
He almost laughs, “it’s not as bad as it looks.”
“Are you sure? It looks painful as fuck. Are the Medics doing anything? You need ice or something?”
Steve admired you during your ramble. Your eyes were furrowed as your head was slightly tilted. You looked concerned and Steve couldn’t help the feeling in his stomach.
“Nah, they got other stuff to do.” He looked around and while he does that, you admired him. His face was lit beneath the paramedic's siren lights and despite his eye, he somehow looked pretty.
“I - uh - I came to say thank you. My brother, you know him, Dustin- well Dusting said you saved him or something. Won a fight, saved his life. And I just came to say thank you for that. Every time something happens in Hawkins you somehow manage to save my brother. I fear that without you, maybe Dustin wouldn’t be here. He’s fucking dumb, he’d run into some monster’s mouth without you.”
Steve chuckled at you - his smile so sincere. “He’s actually really smart. He and Lucas’ sister managed to escape on their own and save us.”
“Well shit,” you laughed with him. You moved so you’re stood leaning on the wall beside him. You sighed in content. Everything’s okay; everyone’s alright.
You saw Robin eyeing you up, and suddenly she pointed to Steve next to you and made two little mouths with her hands, squishing her fingertips together as if the hands are kissing. You stuck your tongue out at her and looked back to Steve who has an amused grin on his face.
“Truly, that eye looks painful.”
“If we’re gonna be honest here, it hurts like a bitch.”
“Well, actually if we’re going to be honest here. . .” Robin is now stood in front of you both, a childlike smile on her face. It’s as if there was a glint of trouble that flashed over her eyes and you knew something was coming. You’re eyes were slits as you stared at her. What are you saying? “then we need to be properly honest. Admit it. Both of you.”
“What?”
“Admit what?”
While you glared at Robin, Steve’s cheeks turned a rosy colour. Robin had never seen it before - Mr Steve Harrington getting embarrassed?
“Y/N, Steve has something to tell you-”
“Nope, no I don’t, I don’t have anything to say,” he said quickly, bringing his hands up to stop Robin. “In the nicest way possible, I-”
“He likes you,” Robin interrupted, stepping in front of Steve so you and her were close. “He likes you. Imagine, someone liking you. Any-who, finally! You know! He told me in the bathroom.”
You didn’t say anything as you continued to stare at Robin through the slits of your eyes, pushing her away to look at Steve. Your eyes softened. He looked so embarrassed you couldn’t help but smile slightly. Robin stood there for a mere few seconds, before both of you pushed her away, mumbling a strict “Robin!”. She stumbled away after that, awkwardly waiting by a police car only a couple feet away.
“So-”
“So-”
You both looked at each other with smiles, laughing at how awkward you guys were being. “Robin’s a bitch.”
“Yeah, I know. Try spending a whole night in a Russian secret base.” Steve joked. He leaned against the wall again. “She’s going to pay for that.”
“Look at her, smiling. She knows what she’s done.”
“What has she done?”
You look up at Steve with a blank expression. Because what had she done? Sure, she exposed your secret crushes on each other but did that change the relationship? Are you going to have to address that now? Because you were seriously hoping not to. The two of you looked at each other for some seconds. You look into his eyes, then you study his nose and then his mouth. He does the same for you. Despite looking cool on the outside, Steve was currently screaming. Surely you’re the prettiest girl alive, is all he can think.
“It’s late, I know,” you started, slowly bringing your hand up to his Scoops Ahoy uniform. You toyed with his badge as you continued speaking, “but my date with Robin has been ruined by some monster - and you’re looking helpless and in pain right now.” Steve’s hand came to rest on your cheek and you leaned into his touch. “I can patch you up. And by patch you up I mean give you some frozen peas and we can watch a movie.”
His hands found their way into your hair and he twiddled a stray piece of your hair around his index finger. He smirked, “you know what. A bag of peas and a movie cuddled up with you sounds like the perfect medicine.”
“Think you can climb my window though?”
“Oh, baby, I just escaped a Russian base, I can do anything.”

Trained Weapon Part 4 (Steve Harrington Series)
Tumblr media
Description: You were made to be a weapon, forced to kill on command. You were number thirteen, the lab had taken you at the age of eight from your mother and father locking you a way for training, if you didn’t do what you were told you were locked away. This time you were going to be killed you knew it, if you told them no they would kill you so the only thing you could do was run. And turns out you run exactly to the boy in a sailor outfit. (This will follow closely with season 3 of stranger things)
PLEASE LEAVE ME FEEDBACK LET ME KNOW YOUR ENJOYING THE STORY! PLEASE READ MESSAGE AT THE END!
In case you missed it: Prologue , Part 1 , Part 2 , Part 3
Steve’s POV
‘‘Do you see anything?’‘ I hear Dustin ask me.
‘’Uh, I guess I don’t totally know what I’m looking for,’’ I admit to him. Dustin convinced me last night to go look for Russian spy’s with him while Robin watched the shop. I told her to watch over Y/N, I felt kind of bad leaving her in the back but I didn’t fully know what to think of her yet. She was so quiet but I could tell she was warming up to me and yesterday seeing how happy she was after hanging out with El and Max made me so happy. Not to mention her outfit looked great on her, Hell even today the outfit she had on looked good on her.
‘‘Evil Russians,’‘ Dustin says like it was normal.
‘‘Yeah, exactly. I don’t know what an evil Russian looks like.’‘ I say still looking around the mall through the binoculars
‘‘Tall, blonde, not smiling.’‘ He says elaborating. ‘‘Also look for ear pieces, anything camo, maybe a duffle bag? Those kinds of things.’‘ He says. I turn my head getting a perfect view of Scoops Ahoy I can see Y/N standing at the window talking with Robin, what about? I wish I knew.
‘‘Right okay, duffle bags.’‘ I say just to get him off my back, I continue to look at Y/N watching as she laughed at something Robin said. I see a few guys walk up to the counter and Y/N’s facial expression goes to shock which probably meant they were talking to her. I couldn’t help but find it cute how nervous she got when someone spoke to her, she had this like shocked but happy expressions like she was excited people were acknowledging her. ‘‘Oh my gosh!’‘ I yell out realizing who it was.
‘‘What? What?’‘ Dustin says trying to grab the binoculars from my hand but I move my elbow up stopping him still wanting to look.
‘‘That meathead Mark Lewinsky is at Scoops and he’s talking to Robin and Y/N,’‘ I say annoyed.
‘‘Dude if you’re not gonna focus give me the binoculars!’‘ Dustin says annoyed, ‘‘You are the worst spy in history, you know that?’‘
Dustin grabs the binoculars out of my hands just as Y/N laughs at something one of the guys had said, ‘’Hey, stop, give those back!’’ I say to him my gaze still trying to look at Y/N.
‘‘I don’t get why you look at other girls still, you’re obviously into Y/N,’‘ Dustin says now looking through the binoculars. I look at him confused and then quickly glance back to the shop not being able to make either of them out anymore.
‘‘I am not, and I didn’t look at any other girls’‘ I argue to him. Sure Y/N was pretty, I mean she was gorgeous but I didn’t know her. I couldn’t ignore the connection I seemed to have with her but I still didn’t know her.
‘‘Y/N, Y/N, Y/N,’‘ Dustin keeps repeating.
I look over to him annoyed, ‘’No, stop,’’ I tell him. He keeps going and we banter back and forth for a few seconds, ‘’No! I barely know her! We know nothing about her, nothing.’’ I tell Dustin.
‘‘Then why don’t you try and get to know her?’‘ Dustin asks.
‘‘Because- I don’t know.’‘ I sigh. ‘‘She is from the lab like El what am I suppose to ask her?’’ I wouldn’t even know where to begin, Y/N seems to fragile and scared. I mean she was on the run so it made sense that she was on edge but I didn’t want to ask the wrong questions and make her more uncomfortable.
‘‘I don’t know,’‘ Dustin says shrugging his shoulders moving his head to look up at the other levels in the mall.
‘‘Plus wouldn’t it be weird for me to like someone who has like- powers? abilities? Whatever you want to call it.’‘ I ask Dustin.
‘‘Oh,’‘ Dustin says taking away the binoculars away from his face and giving me a look, ‘‘That’s why you won’t confess,’‘ He says then turning putting the binoculars back to his face looking around again.
‘‘What?’‘ I say looking at him.
‘‘You don’t want to date her because she’s stronger than you,’‘ Dustin says and I shake my head in protest, once again he looks over at me, ‘‘Now that you’re out of high school, which technically means your an adult. Don’t you think it’s time you move on from primitive constructs such as popularity and what others are gonna think?’‘ He asks, I look at him confused. When did this kid get so smart?
‘‘Oh, primitive constructs? That some stupid shit you learned at camp Know...Nothing?’‘ I ask him trying to find a soft spot to annoy him.
‘‘Camp Know Where, actually,’‘ He corrects me. ‘‘And no it’s shit I learned from life,’‘ He says and I nod my head at him, since when did this kid know anything about girls? ‘‘Instead of dating somebody because you think it’ll make you look better, why not date someone you actually enjoy being around?’‘ He asks me. ‘’Like me and Suzie!’’ He says.
‘‘Oh, you and Suzie?’‘ I ask him, this kid was gonna have to learn how to lie better. ‘‘You mean hotter than Phoebe Cates? Yeah how’d you score to get that beautiful of a girlfriend?’‘ I ask him. ‘‘Oh yeah with my advice, that’s how it works I give you my advice and you follow me around, alright pea brain?’‘ I ask him glancing back out at the crowded mall.
‘‘Think about it like this, Y/N is cool and has super powers. You want to let someone like that pass you by?’‘ He asks. ‘‘You might be scared of dating someone stronger and more capable than you,’‘ He says and I let out a laugh, ‘‘But Y/N is probably scared all the time being around all these people she doesn’t know. She probably doesn’t even know who to trust,’‘ He says.
I had never thought about it that way, of course Y/N was always nervous when people talked to her but I didn’t think about her not knowing who to trust. She seemed to trust me, at least that’s what she told me that one night. It made me happy to think about, but also having someones trust on me made me feel even more anxious, I didn’t want to let her down.
 READERS POV
You sat in the back of Scoops Ahoy waiting for Steve and Dustin to come back, you listened over and over again to the message as Robin waited on people out front. You and Robin managed to figure out a little bit more of the code while you were waiting. She was really nice and you could see why Steve and her were friends, she had a sarcasm that was honestly funny to watch with customers. You hear a knock at the door breaking you out of your thoughts, you turn off the recording and walk over to the window sliding it open, ‘’Hey someone is at the door back here,’’ You tell Robin.
She nods at you making her way to the back opening the door she takes a package from the man and then goes back signing a paper. You watch her as she walks in the hallway staring at the man as he walks away, she walks back in a confused look on her face, ‘’He had a silver cat on his uniform,’’ She tells you.
‘’ A trip to China sounds nice...’’ You repeat the message, both you and Robin look up at each other realizing what this meant.
You push yourself out of the chair and you and Robin run out from the back seeing Dustin and Steve arguing over a Russian? You run out to the center of the mall ignoring them and look around for a Chinese restaurant, ‘’There!’’ You say pointing to it.
‘‘If you tread lightly,’‘ Robin says looking around. Her eyes stop on a shoes shop, and then she repeats, ‘‘When blue and yellow meet in the west..’‘ She says closing her eyes trying to concentrate, you look up noticing the clock on the wall with a blue and yellow hand. You tap her and gesture up to it and she smiles.
‘‘Robin?’‘ Steve calls out, you look over at him and he scans you up and down looking confused then he looks back to Robin. ‘‘What are you doing?’‘ He asks.
‘‘We cracked it,’‘ She says stepping down from the seat, ‘‘We cracked the code,’‘ She says looking over at you her smile beaming in excitement.
______
A few hours later you were on the roof of the mall in the pouring rain, ‘’Look for Imperial Panda and Kaufman Shoes!’’ Robin says. You were next to Steve and Dustin was on you right looking through the binoculars.
‘’They’re with that whistling guy ten o’ clock!’’ Dustin says gesturing down to the guy in the bright yellow jacket. You felt yourself shiver from the rain that was running down your face, you felt your clothes clinging to your body.
‘‘What do you think is in there?’‘ Steve asks, he looks over to you and notices you shivering, ‘‘You okay?’‘ He asks and you nod your head giving him a reassuring smile.
‘‘Guns, bombs?’‘ Dustin says sounding unsure.
‘‘Chemical weapons?’‘ Robin adds.
‘‘Whatever it is they’re armed to the teeth,’‘ Dustin says taking the binoculars away from his face, he wipes the rain off his face putting them back to his eyes.
You notice they were opening a door now, ‘’What’s in there?’’ You ask trying to squint to see.
‘‘It’s just more boxes,’‘ Dustin says still looking. Steve reaches over you and for the binoculars.
‘‘Let me see!’‘ Steve says and Dustin protest trying to pull the binoculars back. You look down at the men scared they would hear the commotion and then both the boys drop the binoculars making a loud sound against the metal.
You watch panicked as all the guards down below reach for the weapons at their side, ‘’Duck!’’ Dustin yells and you all quickly make your way down as low as you can to the ground. You felt your breath pick up at the thought of being caught and your breathing goes rapid and you can physically feel your heart beat faster. You glance down noticing Steve was holding your hand and then you look over to him and he looked scared too, he glances over looking at your hands first and then he notices you already looking at him. He immediately lets go of your hand, you were a little upset happy to have the comfort from him obviously you both needed it.
You can hear the man yell for another to stay where he was saying something about watching the door, it was hard to hear but you knew he was coming up to the top. ‘’We need to go,’’ You tell them and they all glance at you panicked. ‘’Now!’’ You say and you can tell Steve feels the panic in your voice because he reaches over clutching your forearm with his hand.
You all quickly get up and Steve leads you across the roof, you all walked as low as you could to the ground trying to avoid being seen. He leads you in through another door ushering everyone in and staying behind you, you can feel his hand on your back making you walk a little faster. You still hadn’t seemed to catch your breath as you felt yourself looking around the familiar hallway once again that reminded you of the lab. ‘’Y/N, hey you’re okay,’’ Steve says to you. Dustin and Robin were walking ahead off in their own conversation.
‘‘I know,’‘ You sigh, ‘‘I’m sorry, I- It’s just-’‘ You pause not really knowing if you wanted to tell him what was wrong, would he think you were crazy? Hell you were probably past him thinking you were crazy, ‘‘The hallway it reminds me of the lab.’‘ You admit to him.
You see him scrunch his face up, ‘’Well, I’m not going to let anything happen to you I promise,’’ Steve says. You hadn’t realized you had both stopped in the hallway and Robin and Dustin were too far ahead and stuck in their own world to notice. You see Steve glance down just for a second and then his eyes widened which made you curious as to what he was looking at. You look down noticing your white shirt was completely drenched and your jacket wasn’t near thick enough to keep you warm. You felt your face heat up realizing that was what he was staring at, he takes the jacket off of his back and slides it around your shoulders.
You look up at him and smile seeing the droplets of water fall down his face, he smiles at you pulling the jacket around you tighter and it was in that moment you realized how close you both actually were.
‘’Hello!’’ Dustin yells out making you both look in the direction of his voice breaking you out of the moment.
You look over to Steve and give him an awkward smile and he grants you one back and you both make your way down the hall. The entire way back you just thought about Steve, why did you find yourself trusting him so much? And what the hell was it that he was making you feel when you were around him?
______
‘’That keycard opens the door, but unfortunately the Russian with this keycard has a massive gun, whatever’s in this room and in those boxes they really don’t want anyone finding it.’’ Dustin says lecturing you Steve and Robin as you sit in the back room of Scoops Ahoy.
‘‘There has to be a way in,’‘ Robin says sounding determined.
‘‘Well you know,  I could just take him out,’‘ Steve suggest, you look up at him a little shocked, Steve didn’t seem like the guy that could knock someone out. Everyone else seemed to have the same thought and Steve rolls his eyes, ‘’What? I sneak up behind him I knock him out, I take his keycard, It’s easy!’’ Steve says simply.
‘‘Did you not hear the part about the massive gun?’‘ Dustin says.
‘’Yes, Dustin I did.’’ Steve says sounding annoyed. ‘’That’s why I’d be sneaking.’’ Steve says crossing his arms leaning back in his chair.
‘‘You could get hurt,’‘ You decide to say making Steve look at you, ‘‘These are trained guards, they know how to fight, they know how to kill Steve.’‘ You tell him.
‘‘She’s right,’‘ Robin says putting her head in her hands groaning.
‘‘What about Y/N?’‘ Dustin chimes in putting his hand to his chin looking at you. You felt yourself freeze up, what did he mean what about you?
‘‘What about her?’‘ Steve asks confused.
Dustin rolls his eyes, ‘’She has super powers?’’ He says like it was obvious.
‘‘Y/N has what?’‘ Robin asks looking up at you, you look down at your hands not wanting to be the center of attention.
‘‘Yeah, Y/N has super powers like our friend El and she can like kill people with her mind-’‘ Dustin begins explaining but you tone out. You didn’t want to kill anyone, you didn’t want to hurt anyone that was the entire reason you escaped.
‘’You’re right! She could just clunk,’’ Steve says making a motion with his hand,, ‘’Then they’re down and we can get the keycard and-’’ You felt hurt by Steve’s words. Was this what he thought of you as? Just a weapon to be used? You felt yourself starting to get angry, you continue to listen to them all as they threw out different ideas of ways you could get the guards.
‘‘Stop!’‘ You call out your voice hoarse, you felt the tears in your eyes, ‘‘I can’t do it.’‘ You tell them. They all stayed silent just watching you, you look up at Steve his eyes wide and he looked at you with a sincere look, ‘‘I’m sorry I can’t,’‘ You say pushing yourself out of your chair. You quickly walk out the door entering the front of the shop and you hear the door hit the wall behind you, you make your way out into the mall and you feel someone grab your elbow tugging on it gently.
You turn around finding Steve standing behind you a confused look on his face, ‘’Look I’m sorry if we said something to upset you,’’ He starts off. ‘’We were just throwing out ideas you can do whatever you want-’’ Steve says.
‘‘I don’t want to do anything!’‘ You say getting frustrated. You run your hands through your hair and you look around noticing a few people looking at you. Steve grabs your hand and walks you over to a place a little more private it seemed, ‘‘I don’t want to hurt anyone, I don’t know how to control myself when I do it.’‘ You admit to him. ‘‘What if I hurt you?’‘ You ask him.
He looks at you sincerely tilting his head, ‘’You wouldn’t,’’ Steve says. You felt him squeeze your hand and you hadn’t realized that he didn’t let go.
‘‘I still can’t,’‘ You tell him, ‘‘I don’t want to kill anyone-’‘ You say feeling panicked at the thought remembering the man from the lab.
‘‘You don’t have to then,’‘ Steve says to you his voice sweet and sincere, ‘‘You don’t have to do anything you don’t want to do.’‘ He says to you. You smile at him softly feeling grateful he wasn’t going to question it. ‘‘You can talk to me you know?’‘ He says, ‘‘I mean I know I don’t know everything and sometimes I can be really oblivious but if you ever want to-’‘ He says sounding nervous and you cut him off.
‘‘I know,’‘ You say squeezing his hand and he smiles.
Hours later you all had a plan, now you had Erica who would squeeze through the vents and give us access to the inside of the storage unit. Although Dustin complained saying it would just be easier if you helped, one glare from Steve shut him up. Robin didn’t seemed to freaked out by the fact you had abilities but I mean if secret Russian bases exist within a small towns mall then what else could be going on?

hi love !! for the ships ! i’m 18, curvy and short, i’m a ginger and i have freckles and wear glasses. I’m sweet, funny, clumsy (basically i’m baby lol). I love to read and write, as well as watch movies and listen to music. Maybe all 3 ships if it’s not too much? thanks darling ! ❤️
( we’re just gonna pretend that Nancy and Steve didn’t date in this okieeeee, also I didn’t know what to do really for Enemy, so sorry it’s short!)
Friendship - Nancy Wheeler
You and Nancy have been besties for ages
Starting from kindergarten, where you both wore the same dress which sent the two of you into a fit of giggles and mischief which didn’t seem to stop even during high school
You two were like two peas in a pod.
You guys spend a lot of time together
Before school you tend to call eachother up, just to make sure your picking good outfits
She knows your closet inside out
The two of you tend to giggle all the time, usually it’s all about how clumsy you can both be
Tripping and falling over everything and ending up on the floor dying of laughter
She thinks your the sweetest girl ever, which is why she was so hesitant when she heard about you and Steve
She didn’t hate the idea
But she knew about Steve’s ‘king’ reputation
As far as she knew he could be right up his own ass
She didn’t care too much for Tommy and Carol either.
But either way you both gave eachother support
And soon enough she warmed up to him, especially when she found out about his secret Ice cream job at scoops ahoy
She’d noticed him sneaking off a lot
And then she found that out and she instantly told you
Poor Steve had to deal with you two giggling and mocking him for the day
Romantic - Steve Harrington
Even though you tease your pretty boy he knows you’re joking
Cause after his shifts you give him a big cuddle and pinch his cheeks and tell him how cute he is
And he pretends he hates it
But my god does he love it
It makes him feel warm inside to have someone so sweet care for him.
Your dates tend to consist of movie marathons and music jamming sessions
He always makes you mixtapes and buys you vinyl records whenever he comes back home from his shift at scoops
Let’s also get this straight - Steve swears down you’re the prettiest girl he’s ever met
From cute freckles to gorgeous ginger hair he’s always had a thing for redheads, he just thinks you’re so undeniable gorgeous!
Let’s also mention the fact that anytime he sees you he gets to put his arm on your head and ask :
“Where’s Y/N? I haven’t seen her today”
That’s his way of getting back at you for your teasing about his uniform
To which you groan and tickle him
“I’m here! Giant!” You giggle, fingers attacking his sides.
Enemy - Billy Hargrove
You and Billy didn’t exactly like eachother
It was a mutual dislike in a way
You loved Steve and you knew he could be a right dick to him
The party were your babies and so anyone who hurt them would feel your wrath but Billy was just one of those people
Billy never was directly horrible to you
When he passed, you did feel bad though
He never deserved that sort of ending
You didn’t hate him, he didn’t hate you
Just a mutual disagreement
A silent disagreement.

(gif not mine!)
Something was wrong. There wasn’t an exact reason as to why, but something was telling you that the eerie, almost too quiet silence that lingered all throughout the empty house and the fact that Steve didn’t give you any warning whatsoever that he would be working late tonight… it just wasn’t right.
Your parents had taken a vacation to Alaska for their anniversary, leaving you alone to housesit for a week. The first couple of days you took advantage of, inviting Robin, Steve, Nancy, and Jonathan over for a small get-together that included one too many drinks. because the idea of sleeping in this house alone made the Upside Down seem like a playground, Steve would stay the night most of the time.
Despite how many times you tried to convince yourself that your boyfriend was fine and that he was just working late, you found yourself losing track of how long you’ve spent pacing around the house in worry. Midnight had struck, and the more you thought about it, the more you realized that the strange coincidences that had been piling up during the past few days were more than just a product of chance. From your magnets falling off the fridge in the middle of the night, to the fact that last time you saw Billy Hargrove, he bore a striking resemblance to Will Byers when he was the host for the Mind Flayer, that was all the confirmation you needed.
With your keys tightly within your palm, you opened the door expecting to be hit with the warm July air. Instead, however, you were met with a sight that broke your heart into a million microscopic pieces. Robin and Dustin held a bruised and broken Steve between them. His sailor uniform was littered in blood, dirt, and debris as you took the battered Ahoy Boy from the two. Before you could speak a single word, they were gone, piling into Jonathan’s familiar Oldsmobile and pulling out of your driveway with screeching tires.
Steve’s entire body weight was incredibly heavy against yours as you lugged him into the kitchen. He was still conscious, judging by the pain-filled groans that escaped from his split lip as you dropped him into a chair. Grabbing a bag of frozen peas from the freezer, you placed the bag into his hand and raised it up to his swollen eye.
Strings of curses trailed off your tongue as you grabbed the First Aid Kit from the bathroom, returning to the kitchen to see a fully conscious Steve leaning against the oak table with the bag of peas held tightly against his eye. Dried blood covered his face, leaving nearly all of his features erased as you took the seat beside him.
“What did you get yourself in to now, Harrington?” You sighed, Steve turned his head to face yours as you rummaged through the First Aid kit. He was silent for a moment, recollecting his thoughts as you opened one of the alcohol pads and pressed the square to his bloody lip.
“Sorry” Your voice was barely above a whisper as you cleaned the space where the skin had been torn.
“It’s okay”
His hair was sticking out in all kinds of different directions, littered in dust and debris along with his Scoops Ahoy uniform. Yet, through all the blood and bruising, he was still the Steve Harrington you fell in love with, the one you knew would sacrifice himself and his safety if that meant keeping the ones he loved the most, safe.
“I’m gonna guess… Russian spies?” You offered him a small smile in an attempt to relieve some of the tension, Steve responding with a weak huff before looking down at the linoleum floor with a nod.
“Not too far off” His voice was rough, and you could tell he would probably come down with some sort of cold in a few days. He always got sick after getting the living hell beat out of him. You would know because you’ve been there, every single time from Tommy H. to Billy Hargrove. The boy just couldn’t catch a break.
Despite facing off with interdimensional beings and The Russian government, Steve would never have the courage to tell you how beautiful you looked patching him up. Eyebrows furrowed in concentration, eyes filled with worry, strands of hair sticking to your forehead with the slightest bit of sweat as you held your bottom lip between your teeth. Every single day he questioned what he did to deserve you, to have someone as generous, kind, funny, intelligent, lovely, magnificent, like you.
After applying some Neosporin and a piece of gauze secured with medical tape to his split lip, you cleaned off the rest of the dried blood from his face with another alcohol pad. “How many of those have you gone through?” Steve asked as you folded up the red-stained piece of cloth and threw it into the pile of torn packaging.
“Too many. Thanks to you” Your fingers lingered against Steve’s forehead as you pushed away the hair covering his eyes, revealing the man you were completely head over heels for. Your response had earned him another weak laugh as you stood up from the table, reaching your hands out to help Steve up.
There was a noticeable limp in his step as you helped him up the stairs and into your bedroom, throwing him a towel and a change of clothes you always kept in your dresser for him. Steve disappeared into your bathroom, the sound of running water quickly following. As Steve showered, you made your way downstairs once more to clean up the mess of bloody gauze and alcohol pads that had accumulated on your kitchen table. Throwing the used supplies away in your normal trashcan was probably a biohazard, but you weren’t about to have red-stained wads littered all over your house.
After thoroughly washing your hands and storing the First Aid kit away, you went back upstairs and changed into a clean pair of pajamas. Steve finished his shower soon after, appearing from behind the door with a pair of black sweatpants loosely hanging from his hips. His torso was painted in shades purple and blue, the deepest hues focused on the right side of his ribs.
Without a word, you walked over to Steve and tossed the ruined Scoops Ahoy uniform into your laundry bin. Steve’s skin was still damp as you rested your hands on either side of his biceps, giving them a reassuring squeeze before raising yourself up to meet his lips. You were incredibly gentle, barely grazing your lips against his delicate skin as to not disrupt the open wound on the bottom right. Usually, the taste of Cherry Chapstick or spearmint gum would quickly follow. This time, however, you were met with the lingering taste of iron meeting your tongue as your hands traveled down to Steve’s. Taking his calloused skin in yours, you led him to your bed, which he had slept in more than his own lately.
A divot formed in the mattress where you two sat down, your lips never breaking contact until you trailed them down towards his neck and collarbone. Most of the time, Steve would be the one peppering kisses up and down your torso, hands intertwining with yours as your body squirmed around beneath him. But tonight, you were ready to give the entire world and more to your Ahoy Boy if that meant he didn’t have to worry about ever getting his ass handed to him again.
Steve’s hands wrapped around your waist, lying you down on the mattress and breathing into the crook of your neck. Normally, the night would end in this position with Steve’s hands running through your hair as your body fit perfectly into his, feeling his heartbeat against your back as you drifted off to sleep. This time, however, you objected to the normal routine and wrapped your arms around Steve’s torso, securing their place by hooking them beneath his.
He would never admit it in a million years, but Steve loved being the little spoon. Maybe it was the way your chest rising and falling practically rocked him to sleep, or how he could hear your heartbeat if he listened close enough- whatever it was, Steve was passed out within two minutes of being held within your arms, his hands resting on top of yours as you felt his heartrate slow down against your palms, leaving your exhausted, half-asleep, “I love you” drifting into oblivion until finally coasting off to sleep.
