White men take Peaky Blinders so seriously, even though most of the time they didn’t get it

Maybe it’s because I live in Europe, and pretty close to England, so the time period and everything that happens in PB is pretty relatable to us here. But so many men think that they get the show so much, and they think Tommy is such a badass, legend, cold, unbreakable kind of character. I swear they watched PB with their eyes closed

Try to talk to a white man about how broken Tommy really is, they will lose their mind. And they start talking like they are cold ass bosses themselves, too. It’s so ridiculous

They are the ones who put pictures of Tommy with silly little “cold man” kinda quotes too. They are so silly lmao

“He is such a badass” well yeah, but really, it’s mental illness babe. He clearly has PTSD, he hates himself and he hates his life. He keeps losing those who are important to him. He feels empty all the time, he has no one to count on but himself and everyone around him depends on him. He is always ahead of everyone, he manipulates and hurts people without remorse because he is completely disconnected from everyone. He feels alone all the time - especially once Grace dies. After her he never fell in love again, and him sleeping around didn’t help his mental health either

Am I the only one who thinks that Freddy Carter has a bit of a ‚young Cillian Murphy‘ Vibe?

Freddy‘s Kaz is AMAZING and reminds me A LOT of Cillian‘s Thomas Shelby. Freddy and Cillian both are amazing at rough vulnerability and seeming dangerous while looking fragile. I am in awe of both their acting. But Freddy is still so young so this blows my mind even more.

Anyway. Anyone else knows what I mean? No? Maybe it‘s just me because I am the only person both in the target demographic for Peaky Blinders and Shadow & Bone.

Honestly though, Cillian and Freddy even look a little alike.

Adam Nagaitis to appear in Steven Knight's period drama!

Adam will appear as Lord Lonsdale in S1E5 of 'A Thousand Blows' 12-episodes historical sport drama about illegal boxing.

It is written by TABOO and Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight and stars Stephen Graham as Sugar Goodson, a veteran boxer.

It's been found out by my amazingly intelligent mutual on X, that Adam most likely plays Hugh Cecil Lowther, 5th Earl of Lonsdale, who was a founding member and first president of the National Sporting Club, and donated the original Lonsdale Belts in 1909 for the boxing championship trophy. His name was later given to the Lonsdale clothing brand of boxing garments and the Lonsdale cigar size.

In 1891 Hugh Cecil Lowther set up the first organised boxing matches with gloves, following the deaths of three boxers in bare-knuckle fights. (i believe this episode might be described in the series)

So it's not just a fictional character, it's a historical figure.

Btw, his wife's name was Grace.
