All the Shelby’s and associates pent up in the Birmingham house was bound for chaos. It was a blizzard. The worst of its kind to ever cross over all of England. And it was hitting Birmingham hard.
The kids were running all around the house, until eventually Arthur shut them up inside the living room, so that the adults could discuss in peace in the betting room.
Aunt Pol sat in her chair in the middle of the big centerpiece table, smoking and chuckling to herself as she watched the hectic dysfunction. Being snowed in was certainly free entertainment for the older woman.
You stood uncomfortably in the corner of the room, unsure of what to do. You were Esme’s cousin, and Esme had invited you over, as she often did. Now you were stuck in the house, with the Shelby’s.
Polly scanned the room and each person her gaze met, before landing on you. She smoked some more and puffed the smoke up in the air, her gaze still on you. Her free hand on the table indicated for you to join her at the table, along with a slight nod of her head.
You timidly came forward, sitting and angling yourself next to the woman with crossed legs. You blushed lightly under the woman’s eyes. The room was anything but silent, but Polly’s silence made all the over sound drown out.
“Your Esme’s cousin, Y/N… right?” She spoke, in a low and inquisitive tone and taking another puff.
“Yes” you said quietly, your head low as you nodded.
“We’ve never officially met…” Aunt Pol hummed, “I’m Polly. Family calls me Aunt Pol.”
Her free hand was now out underneath her table, offering to shake yours. You took a breath, extending your hand and taking hers to shake it. Her grasp was direct and firm, but not overbearing like most of the hands you’d shook. And her hands were silky to the touch, yet still thoroughly worked and rough. The contrast made your head spin.
Hell, her entire demeanor alone just made you dizzy in the head…
Once you let her hand, you immediately missed her touch. But you didn’t have to wait long for more, as Polly’s hand then landed on the knee of your crossed leg. Your breath hitched lightly and you blushed even harder. Polly leaned in closer, and her tone went lower and quieter.
“Tell me about yourself, Darling.”
You gulped and your eyes widened slightly.
How could you refuse this woman..?
“Um…. Well I…” you stammered, your attention and eyes diverted to the woman’s hand slowly creeping up your leg, closer and closer to your inner thigh.
“My eyes are up here…” Polly hums teasingly.
Your eyes shot back up to Polly’s gaze, as they widened even more.
“Sorry Polly…” you whimper, “I… I was married, b-but he died… in the war.”
Polly’s eyes softened, and her hand on your thigh started to rub and caress you caringly.
“Oh Love, I’m sorry… I understand some, my husband died as well.” She cooed softly.
You took a deep breath.
“It’s alright, actually a pretty good thing… he wasn’t… the best…” you quietly admitted.
You tried to convey your certain sense of dislike for your husband, which Polly immediately picked up on.
“Never did the trick, huh…?” She bluntly said, with a teasing edge to her tone.
Your blush tenfolded at her words, and her hand had continued its teasing once more. You shook your head lightly in embarrassment.
“No need to be embarrassed, Love…” Polly immediately cooed, “When’s the last time?”
Her fingers tipped against your closed thighs. You immediately uncrossed your legs, opening them up to the other woman’s access. Polly hummed in satisfaction of your immediate obedience.
“With him. Years ago…” you whispered.
Polly’s eyes widened and her mouth threatened to drop in light shock, instead she took another puff of smoke before smushing the cigarette against the table, effectively putting it out.
Her fingers had crept in your dress and were running light circles over your clothed clit. You sucked in a breath and resisted the urge to roll her eyes back and let out a breathy moan.
“We’ll probably be in this mess for a while… Want help…?” Polly suggestively cooed.
“Ah—I…” you breathily stammered in a groan., “Y-yes please…”
Suddenly her touch was gone, her hand back in her own lap. Polly’s hand on the table reached over and clasped your wrist, tight but not one but painful.
“Upstairs, last room to the right. Left side drawer…” Polly purred in your ear, “Be a good girl and tie yourself to the bed posts.”
Your breath hitched and you nodded slowly.
“Yes Polly…” you whimpered.
You left the betting room first to go up the stairs, and entering into Polly’s room. You look around, finding the bed and immediately stripping down to your undergarments. You got on the bed, reaching into the left side drawer and pulling out some ribbon ties.
Polly left to join you a couple minutes later. She walked into her room, closing and locking the door behind her. Her eyes landed on the sight of you, with one hand tied to the metal head of the bed while struggling to tie your other hand to the opposite end of the metal. Polly smirked.
She had you all to herself. And none in the house, adult or child, was the wiser…
Polly came up to the side of the bed that you couldn’t quite tie your hand to, taking the tie from you.
“Let me.” She said, helping you tie it. She took that moment to allow her gaze to sweep up and down your undressed body. She bit her lip in satisfaction.
Polly then backed away to the edge of the bed to fully examine you. You wiggled against your ties, squirming underneath the woman’s gaze.
“Please Polly…” you whimpered. Polly chuckled. Her gaze made it feel like she was about to pounce on you. And oh how you wanted that so badly…
But instead, the older woman stayed standing before the edge of the bed, as she began stripping. She took off every last piece of clothing, slowly and tantalizingly. You bit your lip, yet still unsuccessful as the whimpers and groans still left your lips.
Polly loved all the sounds she was drawing from you. Finally, she was completely out of clothes to disrobe out of. And the woman finally got on the bed, and crawled up to you.
You immediately opened your legs wide for the woman to crawl in between. Polly did so happily. She hovered over you, her gaze going once more up and down your figure, looking like she was ready to eat you up.
“Do you care about your undergarments…?” Polly inquisitively and lustfully cooed, her eyes darkening as she gazed down at the little clothing you still had on.
“Mmmm not really, cost a bit…” you groaned, arching up into the woman, desperate for any touch. You already knew that her touch made you dizzy. The she made your mind go fuzzy. You wanted more. You wanted her to make you silly, to go dumb from her touch.
“Hmmmm, you’ll have to be quiet…” Polly purred, “Can’t have the family catching on…”
“Mhmmmm just shut up and kiss me already Polly please—!” You groaned, tugging against your restraints again.
Polly only chuckled and pulled away, making you lose hope of any and all touch in the near future. She sat herself at the back of the bed, barely in between your feet.
“Tsk tsk tsk, that’s no way to ask for something, Darling… Use your manners.” Polly cooed wickedly.
“I—no I’m sorry…! Sorry please come back Polly— Need you close please” you stuttered out, your face going deep red as the older woman watched you intently.
She quirked an eyebrow at you. Polly then got on all fours and stalked back up to you, hovering above you once more. She had undone her pinned curls when she had stripped, so as she lowered herself to you, her haired angel’s angelically around her face.
Then Polly’s lips were on yours. It was no question that she was in charge, and that she was dominating the kiss. Your heart was racing at the feeling of her again. You moaned lightly into the kiss, happily letting the older woman take the lead. But she pulled away too fast, making you only want more or her even more so.
“You like my name, Darling…? Alright, then moan it.” Polly purred wickedly.
Your eyes widened and you gulped.
Polly then began kissing and sucking marks on your skin, along your neck and shoulders. She hit the sensitive spot on your collar bone, making you squirm against her and the ties.
“Ahhhhh P-polly…!!” You moaned out.
“Hmmmmm, good girl…” the older woman hummed, continuing her markings along your skin.
Without warning, the woman tore your bra right off you with a quick tug and snap. It was thrown aside with ease. You gasped and were pretty sure that the clasp had broken from it. But before you could voice your complaint, Polly’s hot mouth was latched around your left nipple.
“Ahhh..Mmmm—! Pol…!!” You squeaked out in light shock but even greater pleasure.
“I’ll buy you a new one…” Polly cooed, as she switched to your other perked bud.
As she focused her attention and her tongue on your right nipple, one of her hands slipped down your frame and to your knickers. She bit down on your bud, while ripping your knickers with ease. You yelped and arched your back up into Polly in response.
Arching your hips, Polly was able to remove your knickers and throw those to the aside as well.
“I’ll buy you a new set…” Polly purred, moving off your tits with her tongue, and starting her journey further down south, where you so desperately needed the woman.
Finally, her tongue reached your lower patch of curls. Polly hummed in delight as she dipped her tongue into your folds. You arched your back and bucked your hips up to the woman’s face, pulling again against your restraints.
“Yes yes yes Polly please don’t sttopp—!!” You cried out, so happy to have the feeling of a woman’s touch once again.
“Shhhhh, don’t make me gag you, Love…” Polly hummed through your folds.
You bit your lip and whimpered, “Sorry Polly…”
“Hmmmm, it’s alright…” Polly cooed, now latching her lips on your clit and sucking.
Your eyes rolled back and your hips jerked up.
“Ohhhhhh GOD Pol—!!!” You practically screamed.
Polly pulled away slightly with a chuckle, reaching for her drawer. You gasped and gulped, realizing how loud you had just been.
“I—I’m sorry fuck sorry sorry Polly—” you rambled.
Polly chuckled darkly, pulling out a ball gag from the drawer.
“Know what this is…?”
Your eyes widened and you nodded.
“I’m not afraid to put it on you if you can’t be quiet, understand Darling…?” Polly purred in your ear.
You gulped and nodded vigorously.
“I understand Polly…” you whimpered.
“Good girl.” Polly hummed, placing the ball gag right next to your head as a reminder.
She lowered herself back down to your core, immediately dipping her tongue into your sex, making you arch your back once more and whimper out in pleasure.
Polly now began eating you out a ruthless pace. Her tongue sloshed in and out of your cunt, and while one hand held your thighs firmly from crushing her head, her other hand was in between your legs, her thumb working your clit.
Your legs shook and you bit your lip to muffle the cry that tore through you as you came for the first time that snowed in day. Your eyes rolled back and you lost your composure, groaning too loudly for how thin the walls were.
But Polly was swift. While her tongue fucked you through your first orgasm, the finger on your clit quickly got stuffed into your mouth, effectively muffling your cries as you came down from your high. Once Polly was sure your high had teetered out, she removed her fingers from your mouth and brought herself back up to your upper body.
She chuckled and grabbed the ball gag. You whimpered and begged the woman with your eyes. But the way your legs were rubbing together in need of friction and the way your body arched upward to the woman told Polly that you didn’t mind the gag one bit. She positioned the ball gag around your head so that the ball was placed perfectly in your mouth.
Your eyes pled Polly for more.
“Now we can actually begin…” Polly teased you, “And I can make you drool much easier…” she added with a wink.
You groaned, which easily got muffled by the ball gag, so instead you ground your hips up against Polly’s legs.
“Alright alright…” Polly chuckled, positioning her legs entangled with yours so that her cunt could easily grind against yours.
Polly rolled her hips, creating a delicious friction in between your cunts, making your pull harshly against your ties as your eyes rolled back. You immediately and wildly bucked your own hips back.
Polly smirked and kept a strong yet slow tempo of grinding her sex against yours. It was slowly corroding your sense of competency and self. Meanwhile, her hand wandered up your figure and pinched your nipples without warning, sending jolts of hot pleasure coursing through your veins, along with the slowly building pleasure of the grinding.
You yelped, whimpered, and moaned out loudly, but it was all muffled by the gag. And this only seemed to spur Polly on even more. Polly’s grindings began to speed up and to become more sloppy. Before you knew it, you were crashing over the edge once more. And Polly was right behind you.
She collapsed on top of you, your legs still entangled. You loved the feeling of the woman skin on skin with you. It made you terribly needy and your body sparked with pleasure.
Polly was quick to sit back up, this time straddling your stomache. Her breathing was labored and she looked angelic in her post-orgasmic sheen of sweat. Her pupils were big and dark, starring down at you.
She continued to met your gaze, as her hand slithered behind her and in between your legs. Her fingers met your slick and sensitive sex, and you immediately bucked and jerked your hips in response, still sensitive from the last two orgasms.
“Want more, Love…?” Polly breathlessly and lustfully cooed.
You nodded vigorously, your whole body still on edge from your last high. Polly wasted no time in plunging two fingers into your core. Your eyes rolled back as you adjusted to her manicured digits. She began to pump and curl her fingers inside you. Your hips eagerly met her hand with similar rhythmic thrusts.
You closed your eyes from how overstimulating it was all starting to be. Polly slid a third finger inside you.
“Nuh uh… Eyes open. Look at me.” Polly tutted, punctuating her sentences with a pointed curl each time.
Your toes curled in delight with each thrust, and your legs started to shake again. You pulled against your ties, and you moaned desperately as you got dangerously close to your next orgasm. Polly could tell.
“Cum for me, Love.” She cooed.
That was all you needed to topple over the edge and scream your way through your high. All of which was gagged of course. But it didn’t make it any less of entertainment for Polly.
She grinned wickedly, as she swiped touting your folds afterwards, making you nearly start to cry at how raw and sensitive you were. If you could have begged for her to stop, you would have, but at the same time, you wanted to bed for more.
Polly decided for you, getting off of you, and going to undo your ties. She kissed your wrists as she undid them from their ribbon restraints. She took off the gag, then Polly went to grab a washcloth, so that she could clean you up. After she had payed the power attention to you, she lit a cigarette and sat next to you in the bed.
She smoked the cigarette with a long puff, sighing in satisfaction. Your heart was still racing and you were still electrified with pleasure. Polly pulled you into her lap.
“You did really good.” She hummed, then offering you a smoke, which you politely declined.
“Thanks…” you bashfully murmured, your red face returning to you.
“Such a good girl…” Polly cooed, making you go beet red in the face, making the older woman giggle.

John Shelby x Female Reader
Tumblr media
She giggled. She poked him on the nose. John squinted. How much did you drink?
“Johnny.” She hiccuped. “Hmm…” She looked up at him, pouting. “Can I tell you a secret?” He nodded. He stared at you with a grin. Adorable. Who knew she could become this cute?
You tugged at his coat. He leaned down. “What is it?” He asked, brushing away the strands of hair that had fallen in front of your face. You and him were eye to eye. He cleared his throat. He has been this close to you.
You stared at his lips. “Soft.” John bit his lip and let it go. “What?” He huskily asked, trying to keep composure. “Uh.” You felt warmth spread across your face. “I forgot.” You mumbled, looking away from him. He smiled, pulling you into his arms.
“It’s okay.” He comforted you. “Today was a bad day wasn’t it.” He knew that. You rarely drank like this. My poor girl stressing herself.
“What have I told ya about stressing out? Hmm.” He laid his head on yours. You sighed, feeling like everything was falling into place. “Not to.” He hummed. That’s part of it. “And?”
“To look for you.” You snuggled into him. Then why? This burning question rang in his mind. Why not look for me?
“It’s too hard to.” You stared at empty street. He stayed quiet. “When nothing makes sense. I’m not used to being helped.”
He pulled away and gently gripped your face with his hands. “That’s what I’m here for. To be by your side. In good and bad times.”
You nodded. “Love. Come here. Let’s go home.” You rubbed your face with your hand. “I don’t want to go home.” You thought he was taking you to your empty house.
“My home. Our home. Come on.” He softly told you with a smile.

The air inside The Rusty Nail was thick with the pungent aroma of stale beer and the raucous symphony of clinking glasses and hearty laughter. Dimly lit by the feeble glow of flickering bulbs, the bar seemed like a haven for those seeking refuge from the hardships of life. Amidst the haze of cigarette smoke, Arthur Shelby sat perched atop a barstool, nursing his umpteenth drink of the night.
The creak of the wooden floorboards signaled the entrance of a group of rowdy patrons, their faces flushed from a combination of liquor and bravado. As Arthur took a casual sip from his glass, his eyes locked onto a man with a sneer that suggested trouble. The tension in the air grew palpable as harsh words were exchanged, and before anyone could react, the first punch was thrown.
The bar fight erupted like a storm, tables overturned and chairs clattering to the floor. Fists flew and curses echoed in the confined space, drowning out the hum of conversations. Arthur, never one to back down, found himself amidst the chaos. The clang of punches landing and the grunts of pain melded together in a discordant rhythm.
Arthur's instincts kicked in, his senses honed by years of living on the edge. He bobbed and weaved, delivering calculated blows that found their mark. A swing and a swift jab sent his adversary stumbling backward, crashing into a table and knocking over a tower of glasses. The crowd roared with approval as Arthur stood victorious, his chest heaving and his knuckles smeared with blood.
As the dust settled and the brawl subsided, Arthur's adrenaline-fueled courage began to wane, replaced by the effects of the alcohol he had consumed earlier. His steps grew unsteady, and he stumbled towards the exit. The world outside was a blur of shapes and colors, and he leaned against the doorframe for support, struggling to maintain his balance.
Suddenly, a warm voice cut through the haze, like a lighthouse guiding him through the fog. "Are you alright, son?" a kindly older gentleman inquired, concern etched into his features. Arthur's words slurred as he attempted to respond, a mixture of incoherent mumbles and drunken laughter.
The older man's eyes twinkled with understanding, and he gently placed a steadying hand on Arthur's shoulder. "You've had a bit too much, I reckon. How about I take you back to my home? You can rest up until morning."
Arthur nodded, his gratitude evident despite his intoxicated state. With the stranger's support, he navigated the uneven pavement and stumbled into the night, leaving behind the tumultuous scene of the bar. As they walked, the city lights flickered like stars in the sky, and Arthur felt an odd sense of camaraderie with the man who had extended his helping hand.
Guided by the older man's steady arm, Arthur stumbled along the sidewalk, his world swirling in a haze of alcohol and exhaustion. The crisp night air cut through his stupor, offering a faint semblance of clarity. Finally, they arrived at a modest home, its windows glowing with warm light against the darkness.
As they stepped through the door, a woman's voice called out from the living room. "Darling, dinner's gone cold. You know how forgetful I am with the oven timer." The older man led Arthur forward, and the woman's gaze shifted from the untouched dinner to Arthur's disheveled state. "Oh my," she exclaimed, her hand instinctively covering her mouth in surprise.
Her voice carried through the house, and before long, the soft patter of footsteps echoed down the stairs. A young woman, her hair tousled and eyes bleary from sleep, appeared in the doorway. "What's going on, Mom?" she asked, her voice a mixture of curiosity and concern.
The older man offered a reassuring smile to his wife before turning his attention to their unexpected guest. "This young man needs a bit of help. Looks like he had a bit too much to drink."
The young woman, (Y/N), stepped forward with a mix of sympathy and determination in her eyes. She wore a simple nightgown, her presence both soothing and vibrant against the backdrop of the late hour. "Let's get him settled," she said, her voice calm and soothing. Together, the three of them carefully maneuvered Arthur towards a spare room at the end of the hallway.
With gentle hands and steady guidance, they eased Arthur onto the bed. The room was dimly lit, the soft glow of a lamp casting a warm ambiance. Arthur's eyes struggled to focus, but the kindness in (Y/N)'s eyes was unmistakable.
"He'll be fine in here," the older man said, his voice laden with concern. "Rest up, young man. We'll make sure you're alright come morning."
As Arthur settled into the bed, his thoughts began to blur into incoherence. The world around him faded into the periphery as he succumbed to the pull of sleep. Through the fog of his drowsiness, he faintly heard the rustling of blankets and the hushed murmurs of (Y/N) and her parents as they ensured his comfort.
And so, in a stranger's home, Arthur Shelby found a refuge from the tumult of the night.
The morning sun painted the room in a warm glow as Arthur Shelby stirred awake. He blinked against the light, slowly piecing together his surroundings. Memories of the previous night trickled back, and he realized he was in a stranger's home. Pushing himself up from the bed, he rubbed his temples, the remnants of a headache still lingering.
As he made his way downstairs, the aroma of sizzling bacon and fresh coffee filled the air. The scene that greeted him was a picture of domestic tranquility. The older man stood at the stove, flipping pancakes with a practiced hand, while his wife set the table with a collection of mismatched plates and silverware.
"Morning," Arthur croaked, his voice rough from the previous night's revelry. The older man turned, a welcoming smile on his lips.
"Morning, son," he replied. "Slept alright?"
"Much better than I deserved," Arthur admitted, gratitude evident in his eyes.
The older man chuckled. "No need to worry about that. My name's Robert, by the way. And this is my wife, Eleanor." The woman offered a warm smile, her eyes crinkling at the corners.
"Arthur," he replied, a flicker of uncertainty passing through his mind. Would they recognize the name? He was, after all, a Shelby, a name that carried weight in certain circles.
Eleanor chimed in, her voice friendly. "Nice to meet you, Arthur. Our daughter, (Y/N), helped us get you settled last night." At the mention of her name, (Y/N) entered the room, her presence as radiant as the morning sun.
"Morning again," she said with a soft smile. "Did you sleep alright?"
"Better than expected," Arthur replied, his gaze briefly meeting (Y/N)'s before he looked away, hiding a hint of surprise that his name didn't elicit any recognition.
As they gathered around the table, the conversation flowed effortlessly, like old friends catching up. They spoke of simple things—weather, life in the city, and shared anecdotes. Arthur found himself easing into the rhythm of their chatter, his guard lowering with each passing moment.
The breakfast table became a temporary haven, a place where a man known for his hard exterior found himself welcomed without judgment or suspicion. And as the meal drew to a close, Robert extended an invitation that warmed Arthur's heart.
"You're welcome to stay as long as you need, Arthur," Robert said, his words genuine. "We're glad to have you."
Arthur's gratitude was palpable as he nodded. "Thank you, Robert. I appreciate it."
As the sun climbed higher in the sky, Arthur realized that sometimes, even in the most unexpected places, people could surprise you with their kindness. He had stumbled into this family's life under unlikely circumstances, and in doing so, had found a haven of acceptance that he hadn't anticipated.
Weeks turned into months, and Arthur Shelby found himself drawn to the haven of warmth and comfort that was Robert's home. Whenever he wasn't immersed in the world of the Peaky Blinders, he sought solace in the company of the kind-hearted family. The days he spent there became a reprieve from the relentless demands of his other life.
His family began to notice his frequent absences, and questions began to arise. "Where are you off to, Arthur?" Tommy asked one evening as they sat in their dimly lit headquarters.
Arthur shrugged, attempting nonchalance. "Just passing time, Tommy. Nothin' special."
Tommy cast a scrutinizing look his way, his eyes narrowing. "Passing time, huh? You've been disappearing quite a bit lately."
Arthur's jaw tightened, but he kept his tone even. "Like I said, Tommy, just keepin' busy."
Tommy's gaze lingered on him for a moment longer before he turned his attention back to the task at hand, leaving Arthur with a sense of relief mingled with apprehension.
One day, as the sun cast dappled shadows through the trees, Arthur found himself wandering towards the small business that Robert's family owned. The scent of freshly baked goods filled the air, and the sight of (Y/N) and her mother working side by side in the kitchen brought a soft smile to his lips.
Seeing him, (Y/N) grinned and wiped her hands on her apron. "Arthur, you're just in time. We could use an extra pair of hands today."
Without hesitation, he rolled up his sleeves and joined them in their culinary pursuits. The rhythmic kneading of dough, the careful measuring of ingredients, and the banter that flowed between them made the hours fly by. Arthur discovered a surprising talent for baking, finding satisfaction in creating something with his hands that brought joy to others.
As they worked, (Y/N) and her mother shared stories of their business and their hopes for the future. They spoke of dreams and aspirations, of simple pleasures and the bonds that held their family together. Arthur found himself opening up as well, sharing fragments of his own life that he had rarely revealed to anyone.
Days turned into weeks, and the bakery became a haven where Arthur's burdens seemed to lessen. The simple act of kneading dough and watching pastries rise in the oven brought a sense of accomplishment that was different from the violence and power struggles of his other life.
As Arthur walked back to his own world, he couldn't help but feel a twinge of guilt. He had found solace and acceptance with Robert's family, a stark contrast to the life he led with the Shelby gang. The bakery had become more than just a place to escape—it was a reminder that there was goodness in the world, and that he could be a part of it, even if only for a few stolen moments.
As the days turned into weeks, Arthur found himself captivated by (Y/N)'s genuine sweetness and the way her eyes lit up with kindness. He admired her for her resilience, her ability to see the good in people even in a world that often seemed so harsh. He couldn't help but notice the gentle curve of her smile and the way her laughter seemed to chase away the shadows.
Summoning his courage, Arthur decided to take a step forward. He approached Robert and Eleanor one evening, his heart pounding as he broached the subject. "I was wondering if it would be alright if I took (Y/N) out for a date," he began, his voice steady but tinged with nervousness. "I know there's an age difference, but I respect her and I promise to treat her right."
Robert exchanged a look with his wife, a twinkle in his eyes. Eleanor smiled warmly. "We couldn't be happier, Arthur. You've shown us your good heart, and we trust you."
Arthur's relief was palpable, and he offered a genuine smile in return. "Thank you."
On the night of their date, Arthur arrived at (Y/N)'s doorstep, his heart racing as he knocked on the door. She opened it, a hint of surprise dancing in her eyes. "Arthur? Is everything alright?"
He cleared his throat, suddenly feeling a bit awkward. "I was wondering if you'd like to go out tonight. Maybe catch a movie and have dinner."
(Y/N)'s eyes widened for a moment before a warm smile spread across her lips. "I'd love to."
As they made their way to the town over, laughter and easy conversation flowed between them. The movie was entertaining, but what stuck with Arthur were stolen glances and the sense of comfort he felt in her presence.
After the movie, as they walked down the street, the atmosphere shifted. A group of rowdy men began catcalling (Y/N), their comments lewd and disrespectful. Before Arthur could react, (Y/N) had turned to face them, her stance unwavering.
"Is this how you think it's okay to treat women?" (Y/N)'s voice was firm, her eyes flashing with a fire that took Arthur by surprise. And then, in a sudden flurry of movement, her fists were flying, her punches landing with precision.
Arthur stood frozen, watching in awe as (Y/N) held her own, her punches landing with impressive force. By the time the confrontation ended, the men were nursing their injuries and retreating, chastened by the encounter.
Arthur's jaw hung open, his admiration for (Y/N) growing even stronger. She turned to him, her cheeks flushed and her expression fierce. "Sorry you had to see that, Arthur."
"Sorry?" Arthur managed, a mix of astonishment and awe in his voice. "That was... impressive."
(Y/N)'s fierce expression softened into a sheepish grin. "Well, thanks. I just can't stand that kind of behavior."
Arthur chuckled, shaking his head in amazement. "I'll keep that in mind. Remind me never to cross you."
As they continued their evening, Arthur realized that his admiration for (Y/N) had only deepened. She was more than just sweet and kind; she was strong and unafraid, a force to be reckoned with. And as he walked her back to her doorstep, he couldn't help but think that he had found something truly special in her, something that had the potential to change his life in ways he hadn't expected.

The smoke you could never really escape it. It would follow wherever you went and smack you in the face as soon you went outside. It being so thick from the factories and all the cigarettes that people would light twenty-four seven. The mud was slick and if you walked too fast you would find yourself face down in it. As a woman if you wanted a job there weren't a lot of options then being a nanny to the rich considered though not many people were rich here or to be a lady of the night and have to be humiliated just to make enough money to barely support yourself. Those are just some features of small heath that make living here Hell sometimes.
Luckily, I was one of the few women that got a job where that I could actually feel okay with it. That being a barmaid at the only good pub in my opinion in Small heath The Garrison. Harry being friends with my dad really helped me to get this job it’s not that Harry thought I couldn't handle Bar maiding it’s just he didn't want me to have to deal with all the fucking bastards that liked to get handsy when drunk and there were a lot of those here. But I was able to handle them just fine after I showed them my knife if they wanted to try again.
And then there are the Shelby’s the fucking Shelby’s or the Peaky Blinders. Our Local gang but they weren’t the typical gang. I mean they would beat a man an inch within his life, but they had a reason. And I use to be friends with all of them. I am still friendly with Polly and Ada. We sometimes get a drink to catch up. But Tommy Shelby I would have taken a bullet for, but it turns out he was holding the gun.
==========
“Hello Harry, how was the morning?” I placed down my things and looked at the man. “Uh you know our typical local drunks, but I did get a surprise this morning.” “Ohh please tell me it wasn't old man withers wanting to show his family jewels again.” I shuddered. No no thankfully it was pleasant. It was a woman wanting a job around your age I think.” I was a little surprised. “Really and you gave it to her?” “Yeah, she seemed desperate so I was wondering if you could show her the ropes while I get some rest?” “Yes of course.” “Great thank you Y/n. She will be here shortly.”
I'm wiping down the counter when a blond slime pretty women walked in. “Hello, I'm looking for a Y/n Brown.” She had one of the most charming Irish sounding accents I had ever heard. “That would be me.” I put down my torn-up rag and held out my hand for her to shake it. “My name's grace.” “Well Grace welcome to small heath and in par the Garrison let me show you around.”
“Well, that includes the tour any questions?” “Ahh just one who are the peaky blinders?” “I'm surprised you already known of them.” I leaned against the bar in intrigue. “I've heard whispers around and I just want to know who I'm serving here you know.” I breathed in deeply thinking about the family in question. “The Peaky Blinders are a group who don’t conduct not the typical business if you know what I mean.” “So, a gang.” “Yes, but you don’t have to be sacred they don’t hurt someone unless they have too, I mean they're a bunch of ares's but they are just people at the end of the day.” She was now intrigue with how I spoke. “You speak of if you know them.” “I do. Now.” I brought out some glasses and a bottle of amber filled liquid. “Whiskey.” “You're going to need it if you're going to work here.” I downed my glass like it was water and I just finished a race.
I let grace go home early sense there weren't that many people left. It was closing time, and a knock was heard on the doors. “Hello Ada.” I opened the door and there stood one of my last Shelby friends. “There any whiskey left from the night.” She quickly passed me to the bar seats. “I saved one just for you.” I poured a double. “So, I'm guessing from the state of you it was an amazing time with your mystery man.” That’s what I liked about being a barmaid not that I would ever share gossip but as soon as a person had more than one, they would open like a book and get so drunk that they would forget that you were the most trusted person for them for a couple of hours.
“It was, it always is.” She looked down in her glass wishing to dive in. “You know Ada who ever this man is he must be pretty special.” “He is.” “Well then why look so sad?” I wanted to know what was making my friend feel like this. “I can't tell anyone that were together not even you.” “Why?” “Because it’s dangerous.” “Well, if that's the reason then I'm okay not knowing just don't let it be a secret to long, okay?” I smiled and clanged our glasses together in friendship and secrets.
================
I came in early the next day I didn’t need to, but it was Saturday and there was football I didn’t want Grace deal with all that on her first day. “Hello Grace, Harry.” I put my apron on. “Y/n I thought you didn't work till later.” “Well Grace you are going to need all the help you can get today.” About an hour later the Garrison was filled to the brim with men who wanted a little luck for their bets they did. “Told ya.” I yelled out over the rowdy voices that clambering to get attention. But over all that I still hear the tapping from the window that was part of the Shelby’s private room. Grace went to answer it, but I stopped her.
“Wait grace why don’t I do that now so it’s easier for you in the future.” She nods timely in agreement. Harry looked nervous as well. I whipped the windows open without even thinking who it could be, and I was faced with the man who broke my heart. We both started for a moment before Tommy remembered his words. “I need a bottle of Rum.” He places coins on the bar even though he didn't need to. “Of course, Mr. Shelby which kind.” I was trying so hard to keep it professional.
“I don’t care.” Of course, he didn’t as long he could stupidly get drunk with his brothers. I grabbed our cheapest bottle of rum and gave it to him and then he turned to Grace. “Are you a whore?” If I had water, I would do a spit take. She didn’t know how to answer that. “Because if you’re not, you’re in the wrong place.” He took his bottle and left. She turned to me. “He’s one of the ones you told me about.” I only nodded. “Grace, you’re a friendly girl but be careful. If I say ‘on the house’ say nothing to whoever you’re serving. If they decide they want, you there’s nothing anybody could do about it.” Harry swigged a beer after that and went to attend to others. “Grace Tommy’s not like that he’s just not.” I felt some tears welling up, but I would not let them come out because I refused to cry over that man ever again.
==========
When I got home later all I wanted to do was crawl into bed but of course I couldn't. “Mom mom wake up.” I gently nudged her. “Mhhh Oliver I don’t want to.” Oliver my father’s name. “Come on mom let’s get to bed.” I helped her up from the table and led her upstairs. I set her up and went to my own bed where a photo of my Father hung. “Hi dad I hope I made you proud today.” I finger kissed the picture and layed down while my interaction with Tommy played on a loop.
================
The next day at work was a little better. Grace was singing for all of the drunk lovesick men which I did not know we were doing now. One of the men who I had known for a while suggested that I join her. “Oh, I don’t know.” I really only sang for someone I don't talk to anymore. “Come on, I remember you singing like an angel in church.” Other men decided to chime in. “Yeah!” “Come on Y/n.” “OK ok.” “I got up on the table and I felt as if there were a million eyes on me. “Alright Y/n you know the song well enough?” I shook my head.
“Let's go from three One... two… Three The boy I love is up in the gallery....” I sang out and closed my eyes and I remembered all the times I would sing for the Shelby’s on our weekly family nights but especially Tommy. I was so lost in the moment that I didn’t notice that the men and Grace had stopped singing with me. “As pretty as a robin. As gentle as a dove.” “We haven’t had singing in here since the war.” Harry said with a little fear that I was confused so I opened my eyes, and it was two of the Shelby brothers there, John and more importantly Tommy. Tommy did not look happy as he stared at me. “Why do you think that is?” He storms into the private room with his brother and slams the door.
====================== The night was cold like the kind of cold that almost had a kind of charm to grab a warm drink with a friend or to cuddle next to a fire. I had gone outside to get some fresh air when I saw Tommy walking again, we had made eye contact this was most interaction I've had with him in a while. I heard about Danny one of Tommy’s best friends I wanted to run to him to be there for him, but I just couldn't. I didn't know if I ever could again.

The Taglist are just of the people who asked for a part two if you would like to be untagged you can let me know.
"Alright that's all, please feel free to continue about your days." Tommy said as the family meeting was coming to an end.
Y/N Shelby sat in a chair back pressed against the large book shelf that stood opposite the door.
"I have something I'd like to say." She announced as everyone began to exit. "Something I need to say." She clarified.
Freezing in their tracks they all stop to look at the young girl before looking over to her father to see his reaction. Tommy took a few moments to also assesse his daughter before taking a seat back at his desk prompting everyone to reclaim their seats.
"And what is it that you would like to say?" Tommy asked pulling out a cigarette from his jacked pocket and lighting a flame.
"I've decided to leave." Y/N announced her eyes scanning over the different reaction of her family. "I'm gonna be moving out next week and my stuff will be gone by the end of the month."
The room was eerily silent as the family knew that in situation that concerned Y/N and Tommy it was best to stay quiet but present incase thing were to get out of hand.
Keeping his eyes on this daughter, Tommy let out a sigh before removing the cigarett from his mouth setting it on his desk along side the lighter.
"Moving out?" Tommy asked the 15 year old making sure he had heard her right. "And who exactly do you plan to do that?"
Y/N watched as he interlocked his fingers and leaned forward on the desk, at least he was taking her seriously.
"I'm going to move in with my mum." She answered adjusting her posture as she struggles to hold his gaze. "I've been in contact with her and she invited me to come live with her."
"And how, may I ask, did you get in contact with your mother?"
"No."
"No?"
"You may not ask." Y/N stated knowing that anyone involved in helping her would pay a price heavier than their 'crime'. Tommy scoffed maybe he would find this situation amusing if not for the context.
"So you, through unknown means, were able to contact the woman who dropped you off to our doorstep and disappeared without a trace and now fifteen years later expect me to allow you to just fuck off with her to god knows where?" Tommy summarized. "And you're running off with a stranger on the promises of lollipops and rainbows, does she even have a place for you to stay?"
"She was young back then, she couldn't raise a child on her own."
"I was young too, but I took care of you because you were mine." Tommy countered. "While she was too irresponsible to take care of her own child."
"She's different now, she married to a nice man...." Y/N defended her mother. "I've got sibling...they all live in London in a nice house."
"And how do you know any of this is true?" Tommy asked rubbing his hand across his forehead in frustration. "She could be telling you anything to get you to London."
"I know cause I've seen it. I've been there. met them." She confessed angrily looking to her father for insinuating she was some stupid child clinging to word with nothing to back it up. "I went to meet her last month, the week I was gone."
"Last month?" Tommy asked standing from his seat coming around to lean on the side of the desk facing her full on arms folded across his chest. "When you told me you were going to visit your friend Olivia? Though I suspect she doesn't exist."
"She's one of my sisters." She clarified avoiding eye contact for a few moments before looking back to her father's face. "I spent time with them. My stepdad is a nice man, he's a banker, he treated me nice. When mom said she wanted me to live with them he said he wouldn't mind."
"A banker? and what is they call him?" Tommy asked reaching back over to the desk to retrieve his cigarette and lighter. Y/N was hesitant at first but know he would find out sooner or later.
"Anthony Crestwood." She sighed.
"Right, Isaiah."
"Yeah Tom?"
"I need you to get the address of the the Crestwood family, I'd like to have a call with Mr. Crestwood and his wife." He informed the young blinder never looking away from Y/N.
"Your going to call them?" Y/N asked only slightly confused seeing as he had every right to want to speak to the couple who would be housing his daughter.
"Yes. Yes I am." Tommy answered lighting the cigarette between his lips. "And I will be informing the Crestwood family that upon their arrival to Arrow House in an attempt to remove my child there should be no doubt in there minds that at that exact moment their home will be burning to the ground." Taking a drag of the nicotine he watched as his daughter eyes widened in disbelief as she stood from her seat.
"You can't do that."
"I can." Tommy replied. "I can and  I will but not if you don't make me. It's time you learned action have consequences" He said pointing at her with the cigarette between his fingers.
"So this is how it's going to be?" She asked. "You don't care about be so that means that no one else can?"
"I care for you, you know what I do but you have chosen to forget that in the wake of one mistake." Tommy shouted
"'It's time you've learned your actions have consequences' or does that not apply to you, just everyone else?"
"So this is a 'consequence' an attempt for you to punish me for how I've wronged you." Tommy accused.
"God are you kidding- No!" Y/N shouted. "This is an attempt to free myself. this is an attempt to not have nightmares every time I close my eyes because for the last few months that all it ever is! Because every time I look at your face the only thing I can see is that man laughing and telling my that my father didn't give a damn about me and believing him because I had no prove to say otherwise.
I've tried to forgive you, you have no idea how badly I want to. How badly I want to run to you like when I was younger and think that you'd never let anything hurt me, that the worries of the world don't exist inside the comfort of your arms but I can't.
So no Tomas...I'm not doing this to you, I'm doing this for me."
The two stood there both looking into each other's eyes it was only then that Tommy truly saw how broken his daughter was on the inside and Y/N saw how desperate her father was to keep her.
"I fucked up. I know I fucked up but you have to see that I am trying." Tommy admitted. "That I can't make this better if you run away."
"I know you are...but I can't get better if I stay."

A growl reached your lips as you rolled on your side, for the sensation of the sofa’s leather sticking to your sweat-covered skin was deeply irritating. Prior to coming to this country, you had been told that summers in the United Kingdom were usually not that warm. Somehow, you believed in the ever-lasting cliché of the UK always being under clouds and rain. Yet,  here you were, soaked up despite wearing nothing but your underwear. No matter how the windows were open and how many times you gulped cold water like some kind of thirsty girl lost in the Sahara desert, the hot air still felt thick and suffocating.
You’ve been trying to fall asleep for hours now, but the temperature was preventing you from doing so and nothing seemed to work to overcome it. Besides, the huge malinois that was literally sleeping on you did not help in cooling down. When Arthur offered to take you home he had warned you about sharing the sofa with his dog, Hannibal, so you were more or less expecting him to sleep somewhere at the end of the couch,  What you did not expect though was that the dog would use you like some kind of pillow. Bringing your hands to your face, fingers clenched on your own skin, you kept yourself from screaming in frustration.  Moreover, the maddening sound of the living room clock was seriously rattling your nerves. No — it was definitely too much to handle. Gently dragging yourself from under the malinois without waking him up, you decided to walk to the bathroom to sprinkle cold water all over your neck and arms in the hope it would cool you down. You discreetly made your way through the corridor, your bare feet ghosting the floor as you moved in darkness like a swift shadow. Suddenly, an odd sound caught your attention and made you stop. It was coming from Arthur’s bedroom, whose door had been left ajar.  Even if curiosity killed the cat, you could not help but slipped your blue-haired head into his bedroom to check what was the cause of this mysterious background noise.  Suddenly your eyes widened, for you witnessed something you hope you’d have never witnessed.
“YOU FUCKING BASTARD!”
Your voice roared so loudly in the room that Arthur sat up straight on the mattress in one movement, panic visible on his face and right hand ready to reach for his gun. The soldier’s piercing blue eyes had to scan you for a little while before his traumatized mind understood you were not an enemy coming to kill him, “Here we go…” Arthur’s shoulders relaxed. “What’s the matter now?! Can’t even sleep at night!”
“Are you fucking kidding me?!” You screamed right away, storming into the bedroom. You were so infuriated that your skin heated up even more but you could not care less: what you had just seen deserved some immediate explanations, “You had a fan the whole time and you did not even tell me,” You said with the most outraged tone you could do, “Worst, you kept it for yourself and left me to die in the living room! You’re one fucking selfish motherfucker!”
“Oi! Do I look like fookin’ Mother Theresa?! I  gave you a roof over your head and food on your plate! Can’t you survive without a fan? Now get yer ass out of my room, you damn crazy bitch!” He surprisingly yelled louder than you, his husky voice making the whole house shake. Still, you did not follow his order. When he saw that you weren’t moving, Arthur grabbed a pillow and threw it at your face with a perfect sniper aim, “And don’t you enter the room without knocking! Could have been jerking off and seeing your stupid face at that moment would have been a real turn-off!” The soldier grunted, just wanting to go back to sleep.
“The fuck did you just do? Are you crazy? You wanna die?” Your voice had become suddenly quieter when you emphasized each word of your sentence, right after that awful affront. In truth, you did not let him have the time to answer your question nor to insult you for you jumped on the bed as quickly as a jungle cat and immediately start to mercilessly beat him with another pillow, “THE FUCK DID YOU DO??” You repeated, giving in to your destructive rage — well, not that really destructive considering that your weapon was a soft and squishy pillow but still you did try to look convincing.
“FOOK!” Arthur’s hoarse voice exclaimed, more irritated than anything, “Stop it! Stop hitting me or you’ll regret it!” He tried to warn you but it had no effect — you were still trying to murder him through a great deal of pillow smacks. Little you know, handling your small and little body was something he could do with closed eyes. After all, he had beaten the shit out of a trained elite soldier, so a little psychotic Smurfette won’t impress him. But you were blinded by your rage, hence you did not take into account the fact he was part of the elite forces of Special Air Service. Nor did you notice the smooth way he positioned himself to, all of sudden, turn you around and overpower you without the slightest effort.  A little scream escaped from your lips as he dominated you. When you realized what had just happened it was already too late: you were firmly pinned to the bed, Arthur’s hands holding your wrists above your head and his body weight keeping you still, “What are ye gonna do now eh, little one?” He snarled, teeth bared and fury blazing in his sharp blue eyes. Now you were fucked. Your enraged pout suddenly turned into a shocked expression.
“Let me go!! Let me go!!” You screeched, wriggling like a snake under him to set yourself free but you knew it was vein.
Arthur’s lips stretched in a sadistic smile as he saw you struggling under his grip, “Did not expect you to be that weak eh?” He taunted, enjoying the moment and having fun now that the table had turned. Maybe it was time to teach you a little lesson? He brought his face closer to yours, his cold eyes diving into your irises and his scorching breath fanning over your face, “You know I could do everything I want with you now that you’re trapped in me bed? I could snatch your throat with my bare teeth… What do ye think, me cute little prey?”
“Arthur, let me go!” The beating of your heart was now chaotic. It pounded so hard in your chest that you felt it was about to burst your ribcage. You started to quiver, feeling trapped. After all, you were so tiny compared to him…
“Want me to eat you alive?”  He purred in your ear, grinning like a hungry wolf. His husky voice sent tremors down your spine.
And suddenly, it was not anger that was burning in your eyes anymore… It was terror. Genuine terror that coursed through your veins and petrified your whole body, just like a doe in front of a car’s headlights. You felt his bruising grip painfully tightening around your wrists.
“Please… Stop…” You managed to beg, despite the almost choking lump in your throat.  It was all it took for Arthur to grasp the desperate tone of your voice and stop teasing you the moment he understood he had taken it too far.
“Shit!” He cursed, freeing your wrists and moving from the top of you to sit on the bed, “I’m fookin’ sorry, stinky rat. I was just playin’ ye know?” Slightly panicked at the sight of tears in your eyes, Arthur gently pressed his hand on your shoulder and helped you sit next to him. Still, you remained silent, requiring a little while to calm the creeping anxiety that had started to draw you into a pit filled with venomous bad memories. “I was just playing, really. I would never hurt ye…” Arthur’s gravel voice broke the silence, coated with the softest tone you had ever heard. Now he was starting to get really worried — he would have preferred  you to curse at  him, scream or even kick him rather than face your freezing silence, “Please, don’t be scared of me.” Something broke in his voice. Arthur wanted so hard to hug you but he didn’t want to scare you more, “I would never …”
“I know.” You cut him. Gently coming back to your senses, you looked at him and soon notice the gleam of fear that was glowing in his steel irises. A little sigh escaped from your still quivering lips,  “Tsss calm down, I wasn’t scared. I was just messing with you, fucker.” You mumbled, hoping he would believe it because, on the one hand, you did not want him to feel bad, and on the other hand you hated to display any sign of witness in front of someone. Especially a man. But unfortunately for you, Arthur was more than attentive to little details. And the way you had looked at him had betrayed your true emotions. Nevertheless, he did not want to hurt you more so he did not make any comment about it and just kept observing you to ensure you were feeling better, “Maybe you can do something to apologize like… I don’t know, giving me the fan?”
“Get fucked.” He straight off replied. As well as he wanted to make amend for the little fright he had just given you, giving up on the fan was out of question. Moreover, Arthur always tended to have a high body temperature, which rendered summer nights even more insufferable.
“OH COME ON! Gimme the fan now!” You insisted.
“My ass yeah, you ain’t taking the fan out of me bedroom or I swear to God I’ll handcuff you to the radiator.” He threatened you, definitely breaking the brief moment of softness between the two of you. The fan was the house’s treasure and he wasn’t willing to let it go for the life of his.
“Fine, you’ve left me no choice.” You concluded. To be true you did not want to use this solution but you really had no other options left. Hereby,  you lay down on the bed and closed your eyes under Arthur’s confused gaze. Perplexed by such a weird move, he scratched his chin wondering what the hell you were doing.
“Eh?” He asked.
“I’ll sleep here then.”
“What?!” Arthur almost choked at such unexpected news, “No yer not. Absolutely fookin no.”
Confronted by the refusal, you raised your gaze toward him and bit your lower lip, crocodile tears suddenly filling your beautiful eyes like you had learned when cops sometimes caught you in the midst of a little mischief, “First you keep the fan. Then you hurt me. What did I do to deserve all of this? Do you really hate me that much, Arthur Shelby?” You lamented with the most heartbreaking pout he had ever seen in his entire life… And that was how guilt started to kick in. It was true he had scared you so, maybe, maybe, he could accept your request? Besides, he could not resist your puppy eyes.
“Fine! Just for tonight.” He said, defeated.
“YES!” You joyfully exclaimed in an almost frightening mood swing. You rolled on your other side to turn your back to him and closed your eyelids. All you heard was Arthur’s long sigh. At least you were shutting your mouth and he could go back to sleep without giving up on the fan.
Tumblr media
Silence had fallen in the bedroom for a while when Arthur woke up soaked up in his sweat and almost suffocating from the heat. He sat on the mattress, slicking his hair back, and understood the reason why the room was suddenly so hot: you had moved the fan during his sleep in a way that all the fresh air blew in your direction. Rolling his eyes, he fixed the situation by moving it to his side, “Better,” He grunted. He lay back on the bed. The thing was that the soldier had barely closed his eyes when he heard you moving the fan again.
“Are you bloody serious?” The gravel in Arthur voice made you jump, for you did not expect him to be awake, “If you move that bloody fan one more time...” He left his sentence hanging for more dramatic effect.
“But you’ve got all the fresh air!” You exclaimed, your tone adorably hoarser with sleep.
“Sounds like your problem.”
“Arthur, the fan’s small. I can’t feel the fucking air because you take everything.”
Another loud sigh. At first, he wanted to retort something but he was definitely not in the mood to argue with you anymore. Plus, he knew you would not have it. If he wanted to have some peace, Arthur needed a find a good idea right now — And he did find one, “You’ll be the death of me... ” He simply said. You were about to ask him what he meant by that when, all of sudden, Arthur’s long arms wrapped around your body and pulled you against him in a way you could both enjoy the fan’s fresh air.
Your beings snapped together and your blood immediately boiled in your veins as his hips crashed against your bum, perfectly hugging your shape. An uncontrollable and feverish exhale escaped from your mouth at the sudden sensations as if someone had just lit a fire in your core.  Your thoughts started to bump into each other in your skull — should you punch him or should you sink deeper in this sweet, oh-so-sweet, and comfortable embrace?  You stopped breathing, focusing on every little sensation.
His chest against your naked back.
His breath caressing your neck.
His legs entangled with yours…
In less than five seconds, your whole body relaxed as if you had always meant to be there. Maybe that was why you instinctively snuggled a bit more against the soldier, whose musky scents and powerful grip made you feel safe. For the first time in your life, you allowed yourself to believe you were shielded from everything… Because contrary to everyone else on this damn planet, you trust Arthur with all your soul. You finally closed your eyelids, soothed by the fresh air and by Arthur’s presence all around you.  Admittedly his skin was warm and you were both covered with a thin layer of sweat, but it was far from unpleasant. Quite the contrary, you low-key wished to stay in his arms forever and surprised yourself by thinking you wouldn’t be angry if he touched you a little more… But you’d rather die than confess it.
“And I don’t hate ye.”  He whispered.
“Yeah. I guess I don’t either… But I prolly will if you tell anyone I’m the little spoon.”
He could not help but chuckle, “Alright, love.” The way he called you “love” made you feel fuzzy, “But yer definitely a cute little spoon.”
“Oh shut up, Arthur.”
No words were spoken after that because words weren’t needed anymore. Arthur buried his nose in your wild blue hair and enjoyed the peculiar fragrances of your sweet perfume, fragrances that were almost getting him high… It struck him all of a sudden: he did not feel the need to snort coke anymore tonight.
It did not take long for you to fall asleep, all comfy and safe in the soldier's arms. In truth, you had not been scared of Arthur but rather of the man you had seen instead of him when he had been pinning you to the bed:  Jack Nelson.
But if you slept well, it had not been Arthur’s case despite the fresh air of the fan and the comforting silence of his bedroom. And for once, it was not his PTSD nor the thought of Linda or his drug cravings that kept him awake: it was you. Only you. The sensations brought by your two bodies perfectly interlocking together drove him to the edge of madness, for far too many sensations stimulated him. The frictions caused by your slightest movement stirred surges of electricity through his core and made his blood boil in his veins. Also, what about that lovely face you had when you were sleeping? Arthur sighed in your neck, causing you to shiver in your sleep. He was well aware that tomorrow morning you’ll both start to fight again, insulting each other and fighting over trivial things, but in the meantime he just wanted you to wake up and, by an unexplained miracle, kiss him with passion, then pull him under the bedsheet for a more intimate way of knowing each other.  He swallowed the knot in his throat, trying to get the image of his hands exploring your gorgeous body out of his mind. Yeah, he just wanted you to love each other until the sun rose.  But you didn’t wake up and that was fine with him, for he was already glad to have you in his arms, all quiet and peaceful, despite the torture it was.
Just one night, he told himself. He had to keep it together just for one night and then, you’ll be back on the sofa.
Won't you?

Freedom: A John Shelby Mini Fic
Chapter Nine: 4311 words
Tumblr media
Hours passed until 'Go time' finally arrived and the adrenaline was just starting to kick in for Alice. She and Tommy were sat in silence as he drove her towards the agreed location - a seedy hotel just outside of town, ran by the Turks with a grand suite that Ergin often stayed in.
The window to his suite was visible from the street below; red velvet curtains pulled shut behind the thin glass panes. Alice was relieved that to see it was only on the second floor - knowing it to be her most likely route of escape incase things went wrong.
There were blinders surrounding the property, hidden in bushes and under cars, and the plan was clear in Alice's head. She could do this.
"We'll be an hour at most." Tommy spoke quietly, his eyes staring at a figure promptly coming towards the car.
After receiving strict instructions from him for the last hour, Alice found his voice to be extremely annoying and also looked to the figure, having nothing pleasant to say to Tommy.
A tanned man in a suit eventually came to the door on Alice's side, opening it with a smile and holding out his arm for her to take. She looked back at the Shelby one more time and he sent her a nod before sending her out into the cool night air, her hand placed gingerly on the arm of the small man.
Upon reaching the lobby, he stepped away from Alice with a polite nod and she suddenly found herself surrounded by an entourage of colourful characters; even the other women emitting an intimidating energy. They were all sat around a large table, decorated with intricate cloth, drinking from ornate glasses and laughing merrily. Alice looked around and tried to work out which one was Ergin, but had no luck - all of the men wearing similar, cream suits with no real distinction from each other.
A cough from the polite assistant quickly drew their eyes upwards and although they initially looked so unimpressed, the men's faces instantly softened upon seeing Alice - stood there like an innocent doe.
"The Shelby woman aye?" One of the men stood up with a grin and held out his hand for Alice to take, to which she quickly did. His accent was thick and he exuded suaveness. "Even more beautiful than I was told." He placed a kiss on her hand before pulling away and gesturing for her to follow him. "The boss's room is just up here, I show you."
"Thank you." She replied, being careful to smile and be polite but not too much - Tommy said it was important that she came across as unintelligent and innocent but still sexual and willing; a difficult mix to nail.
As she followed his path, she could feel all eyes on her; devouring the white, corseted dress and how it draped her frame perfectly. Polly had gotten her measurements and rushed into town to get it not long after the initial family gathering, worrying about Alice not looking the part. The older woman hated the plan and it had been even harder getting her approval than Tommy had originally anticipated, but she eventually caved in and agreed to help - citing the trickery and murder of Jones Buckley to be her main motivation. She owed it to Clara after all.
John on the other hand had disappeared from the house for hours, unable to handle the rage or betrayal his family had made him feel. Hidden, he watched Alice from a distance after she first tried on the dress; practicing her gun draw with Polly in the back street whilst the other Peaky boys rushed around preparing for potential bloodshed that night. The dress was absolutely beautiful on her and he struggled to watch, stepping away after a moment whilst painful thoughts started to ravage his brain again. There was no way he would ever forgive Tommy for asking this of her, and if she got truly hurt there was no way he'd ever forgive his family for allowing it.
Now he sat in tense silence, waiting for his signal to burst into the cellar and begin the raid, desperately praying that Alice would be okay.
Meanwhile, the woman was surprised by how pleasant the Turks had been to her, although she now suspected that things would change as the varnished door to the huge suite opened.
"Ah, Ms Buckley. You look incredible." Alice cringed at the name but nodded graciously to the man in front of her; his facial hair meticulously groomed and his suit black. "Do you mind if I call you that? Or are you a Shelby now?"
His tone was mocking and as Alice studied him, she realised he was one who'd been at the campsite that day - her face almost going red from anger and embarrassment.
"I'm my own woman now, you can just call me Alice." She answered with a sultry tone, eyeing his body in a way to suggest she didn't care if he eyed hers - even though she really just wanted to punch the man.
"And your name is?"
He chuckled slightly, staring her down as he closed the door behind her with a loud bang.
"My name is Maximus, Alice." He winked and patted her waist before leaning in to her ear. She expected an uncomfortable kiss to her neck, not the menacing tone that then quietly fell from his lips. "And I don't trust you one little bit.. I don't know how you escaped your husband, but I can have you sent back to him with the click my fingers, long before any of those Peaky brothers could find you. Don't forget that - whore." He almost spat that last word before suddenly standing straight again with a smile. "Now let's go see the boss, shall we?"
Alice didn't have time to even fully process his shocking words as another door was opened and they stepped deeper into the suite. She immediately spotted the red curtained window before she even looked at Ergin or his associate; both larger men, clad in expensive suits and golden jewellery. They had glasses of wine on the table in front of them, along with a pile of cards and an ashtray full of fat cigar butts. There was an empty chair opposite them and Maximus gestured for Alice to sit on it before leaving the room, leaving the three in silence for a moment.
Now she could ponder on the sinister man's words. She tried not to believe him, to keep her faith in the brothers, but a seed of doubt had now been planted and she was starting to accept that she would in fact have to sleep with these men if she wanted to stay alive - or atleast not get sent back to Jones. She'd rather die than have that happen.
Her panicked thoughts almost started to spiral until Ergin suddenly announced something to his friend in Turkish, instantly making her alert again. He cheered as he placed down a card - obviously winning whatever game they were playing - and then finally acknowledged the nervous woman in front of him.
"Sorry, I had to think about that move." He chuckled before meeting her eyes, his demeanour instantly softening. "Wow, look at this kadin, Aylin! Even more beautiful up close."
His friend, who Alice assumed to be named Aylin, laughed and nodded as he too studied the woman - staring as if she were an object and not a person.
"What you doing with a dog like John Shelby huh? You really just a whore like his brother says? I don't believe it." Ergin scoffed, once again sparking an anxious flame in Alice's belly that she had to quickly stamp out. "And what is this Maximus says about you being some kind of gypsy whore also? You are far too beautiful. I don't believe."
Alice was shocked by the seeming interest that Ergin had in her, taking a moment to collect herself before cooly replying "I thought I was here to dance with you, not be interrogated."
That seemed to surprise the men as they laughed again and exchanged few words in Turkish before Ergin leant forward and locked eyes with Alice again.
"I think you are an interesting woman.. The scars are something I like." Alice immediately went to pull down her sleeves as she realised they'd ridden up but he stopped her, his big hands enveloping hers with ease. "No no, don't cover, I said I like."
She didn't know how to respond to that. No one had ever liked her scars. A discussion about them wasn't what she had mentally prepared herself for. Instead, she was now thinking about how she would open the red curtain to send the signal without it seeming suspicious.
"It shows-" Ergin lit a cigar and placed it to his lips, drawing her attention again "-that you are not scared of pain. At least not pain inflicted by yourself. Am I right in this?"
Alice nodded slowly, unsure of where things could go from here. Her heart was racing and her handbag felt like a tonne weight placed gently on her thigh as she thought about the gun hidden inside.
"I want you to take off the dress and cut yourself right now then." His voice had a sudden firmness to it that paralleled to the friendly tone he'd shown a second prior.
With the four eager eyes on her, Alice knew she had no choice but to undress and started to slowly pull down her dress - the undergarments also being purchased in town by Polly that day. It was all white, a corset and frilly bra with matching garters and panties. Alice felt exposed but less exposed than she should've - so used to this objectifying treatment that it almost felt normal.
She took the small knife from Ergin's large, leathery hand and moved it to her thigh, taking a deep breath before making a quick red line. Even in such forced circumstances the pain felt a relief to her, visibly so as the two men let out another laugh and Ergin quickly snatched the knife back from her.
"Wow. You really like that huh? I didn't actually expect you to do it. Maybe you are a whore. Or maybe you are just crazy." He chuckled, earning an awkward forced chuckle back from Alice before his tone went serious again and he stood up. "Now dance with the knife. I want you to cut yourself with it as you dance. I expect all clothes to be gone by time the song is finished."
Alice's stomach dropped once she heard the record playing and felt the knife being placed in her hand again. Ergin was stood against the wall next to the phonograph - right by the window - whilst his friend remained leant into his cushioned seat, taking casual sips from his wine. Her eyes scanned the room desperately, looking for some kind of help, until she saw the mini bar in the corner.
"Do you not want me to make you a drink first? I thought I was meant to do that. I'm a barmaid you know." She fluttered her eyelashes and giggled, trying to act as if she was perfectly comfortable - a real whore like Tommy had obviously tried to sell her as.
"You can make any drink you want but know that you'll be testing it before either of us drink it. We're not stupid, Alice. Know this before you try anything told to you by Thomas Shelby."
"Fuck!" She started to mentally scream at herself as she realised nothing would go as smoothly as she'd hoped. She looked at the clock on the wall and saw it had only been seven minutes, she would have to think of a plan, fast.
As she sauntered over to the corner, Ergin called for Maximus to enter the room and she knew she'd have to pour the powder into the cups before the vulture like man was watching over her shoulder. So quickly, she pulled the vial from her bra and poured the white substance into each of the three glasses before covering it with whiskey - just as his thin frame reached her side.
She played it cool, pouring mixer into each of the drinks and stirring it with an ornate, metal spoon before she felt a hand gripping her thigh, instantly making her stop.
"You see? She is not a whore. Even one touch and she freezes up." Maximus scoffed. "I bet these drinks are poison too, go on, try one little lamb. Let's see."
Luckily, the drinks weren't too poison, just a tranquilliser, and Alice knew that if she just drank considerably less than them she would stand a better chance at staying awake than the men did. At least the older ones. They already seemed pretty drunk, after all.
"Fine, I'll show you. Maximus." She hissed his name and took a quick gulp from one of the glasses, earning an amused holler from the other two men.
"And the other one too-"
"Ah that is quite enough, my boy. A frightened whore does not perform as well as a comfortable whore. You will see this in a moment." Ergin cut him off with obvious authority, although there was enough care in his tone to imply a close bond between the two - perhaps uncle and nephew or father and son.
Either way, the younger man shut up immediately and stepped back, watching intently as Alice handed the drinks to the men. She now knew it was time to perform and stepped over to the phonograph before Ergin would stand up again to do so, earning a thankful laugh from his fat face as he and his friend lazily gawked at her.
As she gently placed the needle onto the record, she was careful to lean against the window and shift the curtain open - even it was only slightly - knowing that would be enough to let the boys below know the bosses were distracted.
That short feeling of relief was quickly replaced by the anxiety she'd been pushing down as the music started to play and she knew she couldn't postpone the dance any longer. Almost all forms of self harm had always been extremely appealing to Alice until this moment, awkwardly trying to cut her skin whilst remaining sexy and moving on beat. The men didn't care though, excited as she cut off her garters, corset and bra leaving only panties by time the song finished. Her mind had been miles away, not really seeing anything in the room as she danced, so when the trance ended with the music, she was relieved to notice their two cups empty although Maximus' remained full.
"Very nice, but remember what I said? All clothes off-" just as Ergin's instruction struck another deep pang of fear into Alice's chest, a loud bang followed by some shouts came from downstairs and all attention was averted.
"What the fuck was that? Max you go look!" Ergin demanded and the younger man immediately complied, shooting Alice a sharp glare before racing out of the room. From that point on everything moved fast. Too fast for her to properly comprehend.
All of a sudden, Alice felt a heavy force against her face and went flying to the floor, taking a second to realise that Ergin had hit her and was now bent down beside her. The woman could already feel the small amount of tranquilliser making her drowsy and so she knew that he would pass out any minute now - he had to - she just had to hold him off until one of the blinders arrived.
"What have you done, whore? What did you put in Aylin's drink? And what was that bang? You and the blinders have come up with some plan! What is it?" He grabbed her by her hair and pulled her face so that it was inches from his. Out the corner of her eye she could see that his friend had passed out so she just prayed that he would too - but he didn't.
"I said what have you done?" He repeated himself louder, spit flying from his mouth onto her face before he struck her again, once again sending her body to the floor.
She groaned in pain this time and struggled to move away as Ergin towered over her. There was blood all over her body already from the cuts she'd made, now some leaked from her mouth as her lip started to swell and she knew her face would be bruised the next day.
"You really think I drink a drink made by a Shelby whore?" He scoffed before kicking her hard in the ribs, earning another painful groan. "I may be fat and old. But I am not stupid."
From her position on the floor, Alice tried to take the knife off the table but Ergin quickly grabbed her hair again and dragged her around the room, to the chair she'd originally sat on. Memories of Jones flashed agonisingly through her brain every millisecond and she started to really hate Tommy for putting her up to this - yet hate herself more for agreeing to do it. John was right; she did love putting herself in danger. That was until the consequences of the danger hit her like they were right now.
"If he dies, I promise you will regret it very much." As Ergin spoke he placed bullets into a silver pistol, shaking and dropping some as he did.
Although his thick accent was still intimidating and booming, Alice realised he wasn't as powerful as he seemed and was in fact scared or at least nervous.
She looked around desperately for something to defend herself with, slowly regaining her hope; until she saw her handbag and felt a powerful surge of adrenaline. Just as he finished loading the weapon, Alice reached for the bag and pulled it to the ground with her, bloody hands desperately fumbling for the gun inside as she heard the violence downstairs.
"Hopefully that's the Blinders I can hear and not the Turks." Her thought was cut off by Ergin grabbing her again, this time by her neck, and pinning her against a wall. He squeezed tight and stared into her eyes as he did, watching the hope drain from them as the air did from her lungs.
She was almost convinced that these would be her final moments, staring into an ugly face - just as she had been with Jones so many times. Gradually, her body was going limp in his hand, her limbs feeling heavy as she thrashed against him, scratching and spitting like a wild animal.
"You planned ahead for this huh! What is the antidote for this poison? Tell me now!" He shouted, loosening his grip with wide eyes and letting her catch her breath for a second.
Her head was pounding and dizzy but it still worked fast.
"It's, it's in my dress. Sewn in. A small vile." She choked out, the noises downstairs getting louder and her body getting heavier.
As soon as the words left her mouth he dropped her and rushed to the crumpled white velvet by the phonograph, looking worriedly to Aylin before starting to desperately rip at the material.
"You stay there whore or I will kill every single member of the Shelby family, you understand?" He barked with his back facing her, but soon froze as he heard a gun cock and felt the metal pressed to the back of his head.
In that half minute, Alice had managed to get herself up, grab her gun and quietly slink over, leaving a trail of blood behind her on the already red carpet. There were few thoughts as she placed the gun to his head, only one real loud one that screamed "Fuck you!" He didn't deserve a chance to explain himself, he was a pig and now he was going to die.
"There's no antidote. It's not poison, it's a tranquilliser. Your friend would've been fine, you stupid fucking-"
"Please!" He cut her off with a loud beg but before he could let out another word she pulled the trigger - a loud bang echoing through the room.
It didn't move in slow motion like Alice thought it would, instead it was quick and sudden; skull fragments flying and a heavy thud. She'd never taken a life before and it was easier than expected.
Meanwhile downstairs, John heard the gunshot and even amongst the fighting in the lobby, he knew that it came from the suite. His blood immediately ran cold. The Blinders were winning and the Turks were massively outnumbered, but he felt no sense of victory until he knew it was Alice who fired that shot. He looked around the reception desperately, bloodshed all around him, until he spotted a waiter cowering in the corner - obviously not paid enough to be dealing with this.
Eyes wide, he grabbed the man's collar and shouted "Ergin's suite! Now!" to which the man immediately complied, taking him to the hidden staircase that lead directly to the exclusive room.
However, John hadn't been the only one to hear the gunshot. Maximus was already halfway up those stairs when he heard it, running as he reloaded his own weapon and prayed to God that his uncle was alive.
Upon opening the door, he was enraged to see Ergin dead and Alice stood with her gun to Aylin's head, about to shoot the passed out man until he suddenly tackled her, throwing her to the ground and pinning her down with bared teeth - foaming like a rabid dog.
"You fucking bitch!" He shouted, a guttural, grief filled scream as he started to violently shake her shoulders, banging her head against the floor. She was struggling to stay awake at this point and could feel herself slipping into darkness between each painful bump to the head. Still, she tried to fight back against him, punching, screaming and spitting. It was no use though.
He was in a trance like state, mad with grief, rage and shock, turning him into a complete animal with enough strength to break the girl's neck if he wanted despite his skinny frame.
"You evil fucking slut." He hissed, holding both her hands above her head with just one of his whilst the other groped her chest with such force that she screamed in pain. "You think you had it bad with the gypsy scum? Just you wait little girl." He dug in his nails so hard it drew blood, running them down her chest and digging into the fresh cuts made during her dance. There was definitely at least one broken rib he pressed into too, the pain becoming so intense that Alice could barely breathe as she cried out for help.
His hand finally reached her underwear, ripping them off in one swift motion despite her attempts at kicking him away. The feeling of his sharp nails drawing so close to her privates filled Alice with pure terror. A horrific scream left her lungs, followed by a loud sob.
But then suddenly he withdrew and his body was no longer on top of hers - giving her an immense sense of relief. That was until she heard John's voice calling her name and realised the psycho was going after him now.
"He's got a gun, John!" She desperately cried from the floor, her vision fading and not even certain her voice was loud enough for him to hear. She couldn't lift her head or keep her eyes open anymore, all she could do was listen as bullets started flying, empty shells flicking onto her naked body but from who she couldn't tell.
The room fell silent and there was a thud, sounding similar to the one Ergen made when he'd dropped dead earlier - instantly putting Alice's heart in her throat as she prayed it wasn't John's body she heard.
Apart from her own breathing and her heart thudding, she could hear nothing.
"Alice?" His thick Birmingham accent broke the silence and the woman instantly let out a relieved sob, alerting him to her position in the room and he immediately bolted over.
"Fuck." He muttered upon seeing her, more blood than skin visible, and quickly bent down to her side, ripping off his jacket to wrap around her. "Where'd they get you?"
His hands desperately searched her body for a bullet wound, shaking as he struggled to distinguish each injury from the next.
"Alice, where'd they get you?" He repeated, his voice cracking as his worst worries had seemingly come true.
"I-I'm not shot, John." She spluttered, almost laughing with relief. "They made me try the drink. I'll be fine."
Those were the final words she had the strength to say before passing out, much to John's incredible panic as he tried to shake her awake. It was after a few seconds of panic that he decided to believe those words - or at least try to - and he grabbed a blanket to wrap the woman in before rushing down the stairs with her in his arms, holding her tightly against his chest.
It only took a minute for him to get outside and into the closest getaway car, throwing himself into the passenger seat and shouting "Fucking drive!" to Isaiah.
"But Tommy told me to-"
John swiftly pressed his gun to the younger man's head, his pupils maniacally thin and sweat dropping profusely from his forehead.
"I don't give a fucking shit about Tommy! Fucking drive!"
This time the boy immediately complied, stepping on the gas and speeding away as the remaining blinders started the fire that would eventually burn the entire Turkish hotel to the ground - only leaving ashes behind.

Shit. Were you going to get a lecture for this. And what a spirited, angry and passionate lecture it would be, even if you knew it came from a place of utter devotion and love. Devotion and love, not just for you... but for the life you nurtured inside. And yet, with a tinge of guilty pleasure, you smiled softly. Because, before the lecture began there would be lots of fussing and kissing and gentle fingertips searching your body for harm, and the thought appealed to you. Appealed to you in a rather reprehensible way. For without a doubt, right now, Tommy would be beside himself. His mind an incoherent mess, already imagining the worst possible scenario, his chest like a tightly wired spring, unable to unravel and breathe until he saw you safe with his own two eyes.
You don’t know what spooked the damn horse. Until today, he had always been such a sweet and mild-mannered boy, and that’s why you chose him. One minute he was walking along, as calm and steady as any other day, the most reliable and predictable horse you had ever had the pleasure of riding. The next minute he bolted off, taking you completely by surprise, your hands slipping from the reins and your balance thrown off centre, sending you tumbling to the ground.
Never would you have gone riding if it wasn’t safe to do so, you weren’t stupid. Your belly was still soft and pliable, the new life growing inside yet to display its presence. And so, the danger to your unborn was less than minimal. Once your belly grew round and hard, you would stop, not willing to risk a fall directly upon the precious cargo inside. Nevertheless, Tommy didn’t quite see it the same way, and your recent fall would certainly not help your case, not to mention the fact that you told him you wouldn’t go riding today. But as your morning sickness faded and the blue sky grew brighter, you couldn’t help yourself. It was such a perfect day, not to be wasted inside, and the moment you stepped into the garden with a novel in your hands, the irresistible smell of the fresh hay and stables reached your nose, making your decision for you.
Leaning down, the stable hand placed you gingerly on the edge of the sofa in Tommy's office, after carrying you all the way from the paddock. Slipping his arms from underneath you, he took a step back, uncomfortable at being in such close proximity to his boss’ wife, his concern evident, probably worried that Tommy would berate him, maybe even sack him for saddling up the horse for you.
With a stubborn edge to both your expression and tone, you thanked him, “I really could have made it back in on my own... But thank you all the same.”
The poor man, who looked barely out of childhood, replied, concern still evident in his voice, “It’s best you keep off that ankle, Mrs Shelby.”
With a softer smile, you tried easing away some of the creases etched across his forehead, “I will, thank you. But you better go catch that horse before my husband gets back. And don’t worry, I’ll make sure he understands you took no part in my little adventure.”
Hesitant to leave you alone, but eager to do as you said, relief flooded his features when Frances walked through the door, dismissing him with a nod of her head. Moving to your side, she spoke as she helped lift your legs up on the sofa, “I called Mr Shelby, he is on his way. And at his request, I've sent for the doctor.”
Rolling your eyes, you winced as she moved your ankle to rest on some cushions, already feeling how swollen it was inside your riding boot, “It’s just a sprained ankle, I don’t need a doctor.”
Frances looked you directly in the eyes, her lips pursed and brows raised as if to say, ‘You do realise who you are married to, don’t you?’ And it was a valid point, you knew even if you walked away from the fall without a scratch, he would want the doctor to check you over. But instead of saying so, Frances smiled gently, it was almost sentimental, “He can’t help it, you know... That man loves you far more than you realise.”
Sitting down on the chair beside you, she waited for Tommy to arrive, knowing better than to leave you alone until he walked through his office door. He would be thinking all manners of unthinkable things... unconsciousness, concussion, internal bleeding... however, she didn’t need to wait very long. Within five minutes, you both heard his automobile come screaming up the driveway, his foot on the pedal clearly pushing the poor engine to its limits. And even from your seat on the sofa, you could hear how the tires teared up the gravel as it came to a sudden stop outside the entrance, just seconds before the sound of his boots echoed loudly in the hallway.
With a deep intake of air, you mumbled to Frances as she stood to her feet, “Here we go... wish me luck.” With that Tommy hurled himself through the doorway and Frances excused herself without a word.
Tommy’s eyes, wide with angst, found you immediately. You smiled awkwardly in an attempt to put him at ease, but it did nothing. Before you even had time to speak a word, he was kneeling at your side, his intense gaze searching you over as his fingertips gently followed, “Are you alright... where are you hurt?”
Stupidly, you readjusted yourself on the sofa, your foot slipping from the cushions. You hissed involuntarily at the burning pain, the sound seemingly bringing discomfort to every feature of his face. Wrapping your hand around his wrist, you assured him, “I’m fine Tommy.” Then lifting his hand, you rested his palm gently against your belly, your fingertips running back and forth across his knuckles, “We’re both fine... it was just my ankle, I think I’ve sprained it.”
For the most part, relief flooded his crystal blue eyes, that relief manifesting upon his lips, kissing you, as his hands tangled amongst your hair. Coming up for air he rested his forehead against yours, his fingertips still tangled at the nape of your neck. Inhaling deeply, as if to lose himself in the scent of you, his whole body began to slowly unwind beneath your reassuring touch. It was both heaven and hell, all at once. The love you felt rolling off of him in that single moment, was almost overwhelming, and you soaked up every second of it. But with it came a rising tide of guilt. You hated knowing you were the cause of all his angst and worry. Enveloping his cheeks in your palms, you moved his head back to see his beautiful eyes, your own filled with regret, “I’m sorry Tommy... I shouldn’t have-”
Tommy cut you short when the doctor announced his arrival with a knock upon the office door, “Shhh, love.” Kissing you on top of the head he stood to his feet, his expression soft and yet somehow foreboding, You knew you were not going to get away with this so easily. Leaning back down, he spoke quietly against your ear, “You’ve been saved by the bell for now... but don’t worry, I’ll have plenty to say about this later.”

Visitor (Tommy Shelby x OFC!Estella Holland)
Pairing: Tommy Shelby x (OFC) Estella Holland
Warning: Slight Swearing, A Slap, Death, Talks of Death, Tuberculosis, Taking Herbs
Word Count: 0.9K
Synopsis: Tommy goes to bed in one place and wakes up in another. He isn’t sure it’s real.
Notes: Divider is made by the beautiful @firefly-graphics; I know nothing about gems, but I did google and read my mother’s gemstone book, so please don’t come for me.

Tommy wasn’t sure how it happened. He went to bed in his vardo in the middle of nowhere and woke up in the middle of the forest, Estella, his beautiful gorgeous wife sitting beside a fire. His beautiful dead wife, the one Tommy had just laid to rest just two months ago. When he first saw Estella, he thought it was just another vision his war-damaged brain conjured up again, but when she hugged him from behind, Tommy felt her lips on his neck and smelled the flowers on her skin. He knew it was his Estella.
“So this is heaven, eh? I’ve got to say I never really believed in such a place. The closest I ever got to believing was when we were together, but this, this must be it, if we are together again.” Tommy grabbed ahold of Estella around the waist and pulled her to his lap as she laughed. Her laughter was music to his ears, even years after being together. Estella threw her arms around Tommy’s neck as he placed his forehead against hers.
“Every day we were together was our little piece of heaven, but this is permeant. You’re here because you needed me. Why did you need me, Tommy?” Estella nudged their noses against one another, trying to get her husband to open his eyes to look at her. Meanwhile, Tommy felt his heart drop to the bottom of his stomach. She had to be real and not a dream or a mirage. Estella felt so real. Tommy could feel the velvet fabric of the dress she was wearing against his palms.
“Tommy, why did you ask Esme for the herbs to make you go to sleep? Why did you need me so badly?” Tommy felt a cold soft hand brush against his face. It was ice cold. It was so chilling for them to be so close to the fire, and suddenly he felt his heart breaking again. But, of course, it was not real. It was never real, to begin with.
Cold lips brushed against Tommy, pulling him from his never-ending thoughts. Tommy opened his eyes to the lips, kissing him every day and night with love and tenderness. Tommy knew this was his Estella, whom he loved and cared for.
“It’s Ruby. She got tuberculosis as well. It already took you from me. I couldn’t save you and break the fookin’ curse. The doctors don’t give her much time, but I thought if I came to you, you could do something, Estella, she’s our angel, and I can’t lose her too. I don’t think the kids could take losing their sister too.” Estella pulled Tommy into her chest. It wasn’t often her husband cried. Currently was probably one of the handfuls of times she had seen it happen, and they all had to do with their children and her. She knew this was serious, her daughter was lying in a hospital bed dying, and her husband had almost died via herb ingestion to see her.
“Here is how we’ll fix this, Tommy.” Estella pulled her husband's head back from her body so they looked each other in the eye as she wiped his tears away with the pad of her thumbs like he often did for her.
“In my jewelry box is a citrine necklace. Please take it to Esme, have her charge it, put it on Ruby, and ask her to make a balm. When you see Ruby Tommy, you must promise to wear your mask. So kids can’t lose you too.” Tommy took a deep breath, like most times when trying to keep himself from fighting with his wife.
“If it’s my time to go, it’s my time to go. The kids have Polly and Aberama. They do not need me.” Tommy’s face flung to the side as Estella slapped her husband's face. Then furious at him, she stood up and started to pace.
“Don’t you dare say that our children do not need you, Thomas Michael Shelby. You are the only parent they have left! I fought so hard to stay for all of you. Tommy, I would still be there if I could, Tommy, but I can’t. So that means it’s up to you to be both the mother and the father. You need to be the one that bandages scratches, cuddles the monsters away, settles the disputes, eases the heartaches, and most of all, has the heart to hearts. It’s okay to go to Ada, my sister, or Polly for help, but you need to be the one to do this. You are their father. Act like it, and show them you care. Don’t be like our fathers.” Estella leaned to her knees before him with her hands in his, pleading with him, tears running down her eyes.
“You will never be alone, Tommy, because I’m always going to be in your heart, because you promised to love me with all your heart, but the thing is, you couldn’t. You shared your heart with our beautiful baby boy Charlie and girls Josie, Ruby, and baby Eliza. They will always make sure you are never alone again, either.” Estella stood with Tommy’s hand in hers, yanking him to his feet. The bonfire had gone out. The air was suddenly freezing, colder than he remembered.
“I love you, Thomas Shelby.” Tommy started to look around as he began to notice the forest around them was getting darker and darker.
“I love you more, Estella.” one last lonely tear slipped down Tommy’s cheek as Estella kissed him, whispering in his ear.
“Wake up, Tommy.”

THOMAS SHELBY X READER - “BULLET,,
Tumblr media
tw: bullet injury, swearing
also- editors note: sorry this is so bad😭. i kinda got bored near the end of writing this, hence why it ends with Y/N fainting, again. so sorry about that!! also, i haven’t proof read this because i got so lazy. but- i might however, make a part two to this imagine? anyway, enjoy <3
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
“Tell me where it hurts.” His rough, bold hands inspected my arm. His fingertips traced my skin. His fingernails scratched against my wrist. Tommy caressed my arm with the up most gentle care he had ever given me.
“There.” He reached my wrist and turned it to face him. The section of skin between my arm and my hand was covered in bruises. Hideous bruises. Bruises that were so ugly, that they began to become beautiful. They were an array of browns, greens and purples, just like an exquisite rainforest or jungle, on a sunny day.
“Oh Y/N. How did you manage this, eh?” Tommy gently placed my arm back on the table and turned away.
“I- I don’t know, Tom” I managed to answer, but I knew it wasn’t true. And Tommy knew too.
“My Love, I know you remember. Tell me so I can sort this out for you, so that this will never happen again.”
He swivelled around to face me again, but this time he was holding a bandage. Tommy slowly walked up to me and took the seat opposite to me and gave me a soft smile.
“Tommy, I” My voice cracked. He looked at me, reassuring me that it would be okay.
“I was walking home from work and I- I slipped in the rain. I was rushing home in time to start cooking and I-“
“Y/N!” Tommy raised his voice,
“What is that?!” His thick, long arms pointed at my waist. Oh god. Blood was seeping through my torso and onto my dress.
“Tell me the truth later, for now, let’s sort you out.” By now i was visibly distressed. My hands were clutching at the chair beneath me and I had completely stopped talking. Tommy advanced towards me and in a swift moment had pushed everything off of the dining table. It was almost like he knew. Like he knew that there was a bullet wedged deep in my waist, one that I couldn’t get out by myself. One that I tried to hide, as if it would go away. But it wouldn’t.
I came home earlier that day, after being accidentally shot because I got caught up in the middle of something in the street. I rushed into our empty house and scrambled to the kitchen, luckily, the blood had not yet come through my clothes.
“Y/N” Tommy snapped me out of my day dream. Well, my day nightmare. Until now, i had been completely oblivious to what was going on around me. I felt a shiver and suddenly realised I was sat just in my underwear. I was lying on the dining table, with a seat cushion behind my head. Tommy was staring at my stomach, his eyes were blinking every god damn second.
“Y/N. Why didn’t you tell me sooner?!” He pledged.
He spun around again and left the kitchen in a hurry. I stayed there, staring at the ceiling, just thinking. This could be it. This may be my last day here. In this house. With my husband. With my Tommy. Again, Tom snapped me out of my day dream, when he ran in and dumped all this medical equipment on the table.
“Tommy, it’s no use. I don’t think I can recover from this.” I spoke, barley above a whisper.
“Shut up Y/N. You won’t get through this if you keep being so fuckin negative. Be quiet and go along with me.” He snapped, and put a rag between my mouth. God, I was so fucking scared at this point. My breath was hitched, my chest was heaving and I was shaking. My eyes were now watering and there was no use trying to keep the tears back.
“Tommy, I love you.” I croaked,
“Me too, Love, me too.” He responded in a hurry. His hands gently clutched at my waist, and he looked me deep in the eyes.
“Y/N, this is going to hurt. I need you to cooperate with me. Please.” He practically begged. I nodded and squeezed out a quick, ‘yes’.
I watched his arms carefully. He grabbed some metal tweezers and brought them to my torso.
“I am sorry, Y/N” Tommy spoke.
He pushed the tweezers into my wound and dug around to find the bullet. It hurt so fucking bad, my God. I was practically screaming at the top of my lungs by this point. Finally, after what felt like an eternity of stabbing wounds in my waist, Tommy gasped and pulled it out.
“Fuck.” He breathed and as he did he threw the bullet to the other side of the room. I watched as it flew in slow motion, hitting the wall, just like it had hit me and falling to the floor, just like I had fell to the ground.
“Y/N? You still there?” His dark curls were now hanging over his face, sweat dripping too
“Mhmm” I sobbed out.
Tommy then clutched a bandage and tied it tightly around me. It restricted my breathing slightly, but it meant that, hopefully, I would stop bleeding. My eyes were now shut, I could no longer face looking at him. I felt too much guilt. Why didn’t I tell him sooner? Because I thought I was going to die.
“Love, drink this, it will take away the pain.” Tom urged.
“What is it?”
His arms brought the glass to my mouth.
“Tom, what is it!”
He removed the rag from my mouth completely.
“Tommy! What the fuck is this?!” I raised my voice and he stopped to look at me sympathetically.
“It’s fuckin Opium, Y/N, please just drink it.” I saw the pain in his face, so of course I accepted his offer,
“Okay”
He tipped the glass and poured it down my throat. I felt the burn all the way through my oesophagus.
“I love you, dear.” He brought one hand to hold mine and the other to hold my face.
“You hear that? My heartbeat? Just focus on that, you’ll be okay.” Was the last thing I heard, before white took over my vision and I blacked out beneath his frame.

Thomas Shelby Best Friend XXVI pt. 1
Tumblr media
Zoey was furious. It had been weeks since she broke up with Jade. What was it? The third. Fifth. Eight break up. Jade brought up the fact that she needed to change. That she needed to act normal once again. Zoey scoffed. I guess it’s my fault too. I keep going back to her. Ada was right. Your first love stings. Feels like forever.
She looked down at her shoes. She frowned. I don’t to be without her but it hurts a lot. The love that once made me feel invincible, unstoppable, and unconditional has turned into conditional, flawed, and unfulfilling. A ghost that haunts me.
On top of that, her family left. Only her twin stayed behind. They had enough of Birmingham. A note was all she had from them. It’s been months with contact with her other siblings and mom. I guess they had enough from me too. Got tired of my unforgiving nature. She felt their absence. The silence that surrounded her house. She missed her mother cooking. She missed her jokes. She missed the good times even though the bad outweighed the good. She missed them.
“I’m supposed to be okay, but I’m barely holding on.” Zoey sighed, no matter what she did to distract herself, her mind kept bullying her. Replying unwanted memories.
“Thinking about running away.” Lucas asked her, nudging her with his arm. Zoey shook her head. “No.” Not this time.
“Smile. It’s a wedding not your funeral.” Lucas told her. “If I’m honest, I’d prefer a funeral.” Zoey shrugged her shoulders at Lucas wide eyes. “Lucas. Go find something to do.” “Alright. See you at the chapel.” Zoey hummed in return.
A lot happened in the span of a year and a half. Her mother had abandoned her. She had finally given up on her. She rolled her eyes. She knew it would happen but it was unexpected.
She looked down at her shoes. She had broken up with Jade once again. It hurt more. It stung a lot more than the first time. She had gotten back together with her despite Thomas warning her to stay away from her. I don’t want to be without her but I don’t want to drag her into a relationship that seemed to be doomed from the start. Maybe I’m meant to be alone.
“Let’s go. We don’t want to be late. Come on, Michael. Close the door behind you.” Zoey looked up. “Finally. If I don’t know it was Tommy who was getting married, I would assume it was you.” Zoey playfully said to Polly. Polly smacked her on the arm. “Such a sweetheart.”
Michael locked the door and went over to the car. “Let’s go. Mum. Zoey.” “Going.” Zoey opened the door so Polly could get in the car. “Thank you.”
“Ohh, Zoey. I would prefer if you go get John and his family. God knows they need the extra help.” Zoey grinned. “Don’t I know it.” Polly laughed. “Alright. You go ahead.”
Zoey jogged down to her car. She unlocked her car and got in. She unbutton her suit before turning on the ignition. She glanced around before driving over to John’s house.
She pulled up to his driveway and parked. She exited her car and closed the door behind her. She walked over to the entrance of the house. She lifted her hand and knocked. “Who is it?” She heard Esme scream. “Zoey!” She yelled back. Upon hearing her voice, the door immediately opened. “Come in.” There stood John trying to fix his tie. “Polly sent me over to make sure you all made it back in time.” Zoey walked past John.
John closed the door. “We’re nearly done. It’s the kids who keep running off. Losing my fucking mind.” Zoey laughed. “What? Come on they’re angels.” “Get back here.” Esme chased after one of the kids. “Angels. Yeah, right.”
“Alright. Go help your wife. I’ll sit here.” Zoey sat on the couch. “Not gonna help out your John.” John huskily told Zoey. Zoey stared up at him. “No.” She said, looking away. “Now, hurry up before Polly scolds me.”
“John! Come help me! They’re driving me bloody mad!” Esme yelled after failing to catch one of the kiddos. “Duty calls.” Zoey waved him off. “Yeah. Going!” John ran up the steps.
One hour and a half later, they finished getting ready. Zoey had helped changed Katy before leaving the rest to Esme and John. She went to sit back down on the couch. She looked at the staircase when she heard some steps.
Down the steps came down the second youngest, Mason. He waddled over to Zoey. He had a little suit on. Zoey smiled as he approached her. “Zo.” He reached out to her. “Mason.” She picked him up and set him beside her. “Tired.” She asked, seeing him rubbed his eyes. He yawned. “Let’s leave.” She picked up Mason and let him lay in her arms. “Come on.” John and Esme glanced at each other. They had one thing in mind. Zoey was so soft when it came to their kids. They practically got whatever they wanted from her.
They made in time. They got in their seat. “Where were you?” Polly whispered to them. They took so long. “Getting ready. The little ones are stronger than they look.” Zoey said, while handing a fussy Mason to Esme.

The Garrison pub was alive with the familiar hum of conversation and the clinking of glasses. Arthur Shelby sat at a corner table, a contented smile on his lips as he exchanged words with his wife, (Y/N). The dim lighting cast a warm glow on the faces of the other Shelby family members gathered around.
"Arthur," Michael called, raising his glass in a mock toast. "You're a lucky man, you are."
Arthur's eyes flickered with amusement, his years of bristling at such remarks replaced with a newfound ease. He chuckled, a genuine sound that resonated through the air. "Aye, I suppose I am."
Beside him, (Y/N) grinned, a twinkle in her eye. "Aren't you just full of compliments tonight?"
The room erupted into laughter, the tension that used to hang thick between the Shelbys slowly dissipating over time. Arthur had changed, mellowed by his experiences, and the camaraderie within the family felt more genuine than ever.
Finn leaned in, his curiosity piqued. "How did you two end up together anyway?"
Arthur exchanged a knowing glance with (Y/N), the memories of their journey flashing between them. "Well, lad, that's a tale for another time," he said, a hint of mystery in his voice.
“Oh come on; humor me!” Finn whined.
“Fine, fine, let’s see..”
“I fell quite hard for (y/n) upon meeting her,” begins Arthur.
“Really?!” Finn questioned eyebrow raised.
“Aye lad that I did -“
“So unoriginal,” cried Finn.
“Aye shut up you git and let me tell my tale,” clearing his throat he begins once more. “As I was saying I fell quite hard for my darling wife here upon meeting her, literally at that. Son of a bitch tripped me,” Arthur says gaining laughs from all around him.
He himself couldn't help but chuckle at the memory.
**Flashback:**
The bustling streets of Birmingham were a familiar landscape for Arthur Shelby as he strode with purpose, his mind absorbed in the day's affairs. The rhythmic click of his boots on the cobblestones was his own personal symphony of authority, and he paid little mind to the world around him.
But fate had other plans.
Without warning, his foot caught against a shoe, sending him stumbling forward. His heart raced as his hands flailed to steady himself against a nearby lamppost. A sharp hiss of breath escaped his lips as he fought to regain his balance, his face flushing with a mix of embarrassment and frustration.
From the shadows, the snickering of children reached his ears, their laughter grating on his temper. His sharp gaze darted toward the source, ready to deliver a harsh reprimand that would leave the young troublemakers in no doubt about who they were dealing with.
However, his words were stolen away as his gaze fell upon the one responsible for the laughter. A young woman stood there, arms crossed over her chest, a sardonic smile playing on her lips. (Y/N), as he would later come to know her. Her eyes sparkled with a glint of mischief, and her posture held a level of confidence that left him taken aback.
"That's what you get for not watching where you're going," she quipped, her tone dripping with amusement.
For the first time in a long while, Arthur was rendered speechless. He was accustomed to being in command, to issuing orders and having people follow them without question. But here was a woman, a stranger, speaking to him as an equal, and in a manner that he found both infuriating and intriguing.
As the echo of her words hung in the air, Arthur's chest heaved with a mixture of irritation and curiosity. His jaw clenched, torn between his instinctual anger and the realization that maybe he had met his match.
The children's snickers had faded into an expectant hush, their attention fixed on the unexpected standoff. Arthur's pride battled with the faintest flicker of respect for this woman who had dared to challenge him, to strip away the veneer of authority and reveal a man vulnerable to his own missteps.
For a few more heartbeats, they stood there, locked in a silent exchange of wills. And then, as if sensing the shift in the atmosphere, (Y/N)'s smirk softened into a genuine smile. "You alright, though?" she asked, her tone surprisingly gentle.
The tension in the air eased, and Arthur cleared his throat, his cheeks still tinged with embarrassment. "Yeah, I'm fine."
(Y/N) took a step closer, her eyes crinkling at the corners as if she found this whole situation highly amusing. "Good. Next time, watch your step."
With that, she turned and walked away, leaving Arthur to contemplate the unexpected encounter that had both unsettled and fascinated him. He watched her disappear into the crowd, his thoughts a whirlwind of conflicting emotions.
As he continued on his way, Arthur couldn't shake the feeling that he had just crossed paths with someone who would challenge him in ways he hadn't experienced before. And as the memory of (Y/N)'s smile lingered in his mind, he realized that sometimes, even the simplest moments could lead to the most unexpected connections.
The encounter with (Y/N) lingered in Arthur's mind long after it had occurred. He found himself strangely captivated by her confidence, her quick wit, and the audacity to stand up to him. It was a feeling he couldn't shake, even as he went about his business as a Shelby.
Days turned into nights, and Arthur's thoughts often drifted back to the young woman who had dared to trip him and speak her mind. He found himself searching the crowded streets of Birmingham for glimpses of her, his footsteps sometimes taking him down unfamiliar alleys in the hopes of stumbling upon her once more.
One morning, driven by an inexplicable pull, Arthur set out earlier than usual. The sun was barely cresting the horizon as he walked down a familiar street, his gaze scanning the crowd for any sign of (Y/N). It was as if an invisible thread connected them, and he couldn't help but feel drawn to her in a way he hadn't experienced in a long time.
And then, as if fate had conspired to answer his silent plea, Arthur's gaze landed on a familiar figure. There she was, (Y/N), standing near a street vendor with a bagel in hand. Her attention was fixed on the pastry in a way that suggested she was savoring every bite.
His heart did a peculiar leap in his chest, and before he could think twice, Arthur approached her. "Fancy meeting you here," he said, his voice laced with a mix of amusement and curiosity.
(Y/N) looked up, her eyes widening in mild surprise before she swallowed her mouthful of bagel. "Well, well," she replied, a playful glint in her eyes. "If it isn't the man who can't watch where he's going."
Arthur chuckled, feeling an odd sense of camaraderie in her teasing. "I was just looking for an excuse to bump into you again."
(Y/N) arched an eyebrow, her expression a mixture of intrigue and amusement. "And you found me while I was indulging in a bagel. How charming."
**End of Flashback**
“Wait so how did you two end up together?” Finn asked.
Taking a sip of his drink Arthur begin another tale, “Let’s see, when I went to ask her out on a date she immediately rejected me.”
“Wait what?!”
“Yeah, that’s right I did” (y/n) giggles leaning her head over to lay on her husbands shoulder. “I didn’t like his tie.”
“Fucking rejected me over a goddamn tie.”
**Second Flashback:**
Arthur Shelby's determination to find (Y/N) grew with each passing day. He had become entranced by the enigmatic woman who had tripped him and challenged his notions of authority. It was as if an invisible thread connected them, drawing him to her like a moth to a flame.
One afternoon, his steps took him down the same familiar street where he had first stumbled upon (Y/N). His heart raced as he spotted her near a small cafe, sipping a cup of tea. Summoning his courage, he approached her, his palms slightly sweaty.
"Mind if I join you?" Arthur asked, his tone carefully casual.
(Y/N) looked up from her tea, a glimmer of surprise in her eyes before she gestured to the empty seat across from her. "Go ahead."
As they exchanged pleasantries, Arthur felt the weight of an unspoken question hanging between them. He took a breath, his heart pounding with a mixture of excitement and apprehension. "Listen, (Y/N), I've been enjoying our conversations. Would you maybe consider going out on a date with me?"
There was a moment of silence, and Arthur held his breath, waiting for her answer. He watched as (Y/N)'s gaze flickered, her expression thoughtful. And then, to his surprise, a smile tugged at her lips.
"Actually, I'd rather not."
Arthur felt the air leave his lungs in a rush, his surprise evident. He couldn't quite believe what he was hearing. "I... I'm sorry?"
(Y/N) leaned forward slightly, her eyes dancing with mischief. "It's your tie," she said, her voice laced with a mix of amusement and sincerity.
"My tie?" Arthur repeated, his brow furrowing.
"Yes," she affirmed. "It clashes with your suit."
Arthur blinked, completely taken aback by the reason she had given. He looked down at his attire, his tie indeed a mismatched pattern against his suit. He had never been one for fashion, but the fact that his tie was the reason for her rejection left him utterly speechless.
Seeing his surprise, (Y/N) laughed, a sound that was both musical and infectious. "I have a thing for ties, you see. And if we're going to be seen in public together, I can't have that eyesore on my arm."
Arthur found himself laughing despite his initial disappointment. Her candidness was refreshing, and he couldn't help but be charmed by her straightforwardness.
"You know, I can change my tie," he quipped, a playful glint in his eyes.
(Y/N) raised an eyebrow, her expression teasing. "Oh, really? Well, maybe then we can talk about that date."
And just like that, the air was charged with a shared understanding, a connection that had transcended an initial rejection. Arthur realized that he had found someone who could match his wit and challenge his expectations, and he couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement at the prospect of a tie that met (Y/N)'s standards.
As they continued to chat, Arthur couldn't help but think that sometimes, even the smallest details could lead to the most unexpected and entertaining interactions.
**End of Second Flashback**
“Heh, I can definitely see her doing that.” Thomas chuckled taking a sip of his whiskey.
“So when did you know that she was the one for you?” Finn questions once more.
“When she rocked my shit,” Arthur let’s out a heartfelt laugh that reached downwards and pulled at his stomach muscles.
“Aye, I got one mean right hook,” flexed (y/n).
**Third Flashback**
The Garrison pub was alive with the clinking of glasses and the hum of conversations. Arthur Shelby sat at a table with (Y/N) by his side, their laughter mingling with the atmosphere of camaraderie that permeated the establishment. They had been dating for a while now, and their connection had deepened into something Arthur couldn't quite put into words.
As the evening wore on, the jovial atmosphere was interrupted by a crude comment from a man at the bar. His gaze lingered on (Y/N) for a moment too long, and a lewd grin spread across his face. Before anyone could react, he reached out and slapped her behind, a smug expression on his face.
The air grew tense as Arthur's eyes darkened with anger. He clenched his fists, his temper simmering beneath the surface. (Y/N)'s gaze met his, and he could see the fiery determination in her eyes. She wasn't about to let this slide.
Without a word, Arthur pushed back his chair and strode over to the man, his presence looming over him. "I'd advise you to keep your hands to yourself," he growled, his voice a low rumble.
The man sneered, his bravado undeterred. "What's it to you, mate? She doesn't seem to mind."
Before anyone could react, a punch was thrown, and chaos erupted. Fists flew, tables toppled, and the once-friendly pub transformed into a battlefield of clashing egos.
Amidst the melee, (Y/N) held her own, her moves fluid and calculated. She delivered a swift kick to one man's knee, causing him to buckle, and then ducked under a punch aimed at her. She spun around, landing a powerful strike that sent another man reeling.
Arthur's rage fueled his strength as he traded blows with the aggressor. His punches landed with precision, the violence of the fight a stark reminder of the world he inhabited. He caught sight of (Y/N) out of the corner of his eye, her face a mask of determination as she fought alongside him.
As the brawl continued, (Y/N) engaged in a rapid exchange of punches with a particularly formidable opponent. Her moves were fluid and fierce, a testament to her strength and resilience. However, in the heat of the moment, a sudden duck from her opponent led to a collision of her fist with Arthur's jaw.
The impact caught Arthur by surprise, causing him to stagger back. Blood welled in his mouth, and for a moment, his shock overshadowed his anger. He spat out the blood and wiped his mouth with the back of his hand, his gaze locking with (Y/N)'s.
In that moment, time seemed to stand still. The chaos of the fight faded into the background, and all Arthur could see was (Y/N), her fierce determination mirrored in her eyes. He realized that this was a woman who could not only hold her own in a fight but also challenge him in ways he had never anticipated.
The thought echoed in his mind as his focus shifted back to the brawl. With renewed determination, he squared his shoulders and reengaged with the man who had provoked the fight. The two of them traded punches with a ferocity that seemed fueled by a shared fire.
As the brawl finally began to subside, Arthur's knuckles bloodied and his breath heavy, he couldn't help but feel a strange sense of pride and affection for (Y/N). They had fought together, not as two separate individuals, but as a united force against adversity.
When the last of the brawlers had been subdued and the tension began to fade, Arthur turned to (Y/N) with a mixture of awe and amusement. Bloodied and bruised, she was a sight to behold, her fierce spirit shining even in the aftermath of the fight.
With a wry smile, he reached out to wipe away a smudge of dirt from her cheek. "You always did know how to make an impression."
(Y/N) chuckled, her gaze meeting his with equal parts mirth and warmth. "Just returning the favor, love."
In the midst of the chaos and the camaraderie, Arthur Shelby couldn't help but feel a deep sense of connection with the woman by his side. As he gazed at her, his heart pounded with a realization that cut through the chaos: he was going to marry this woman.
**End of Flashback Three**
“And from that point one, (y/n) and I been closer than ever” finishes Arthur.

The plot happens when the garrison exploded the reader was in the private room at the back of the garrison when it exploded. The other shlby brothers struggle to hurry and get him untrapped from under the ruble with reader's injuries. Good amount of angst and some fluff if possible

Warning: Grief, depression, drinking, PTSD, suicide, angst
Request: Yes!
Y/N Shelby threw back another glass of whisky as he sat in the snug of the bar all alone. The rest of the family were still at the funeral of Freddie Thorne, Y/N's best friend.
Y/N and Freddie had always been close growing up and that didn't change during or after the war, nor was it an issue when Freddie had asked him to be a witness to his marriage to his sister Ada, it just meant that now they were brother by law.
He couldn't bring himself to watch as his brother was put in the ground, so I resided to getting blackout drunk at The Garrison.
Picking up the bottle and pouring another drink Y/N let out a sigh hoping that this amount would be the one to drown out the sadness that attempted to consume him.
Lifting the glass it barley touched his lips before everything went black.
*-*-*
"Hey, you waiting for a kiss or do you want to get up sleeping beauty?" Freddie asked looking down at his friend. Sitting up Y/N takes a look around to see the dirt walls of the tunnels.
"Freddie." Y/N said looking at his friend standing in front of him. "What are you doing here? How are you here?"
"I thing that's my question, yeah?" Freddie asked with a smirk. "I didn't think I would be seeing you for a long time, not that it's not good to see you." He joked.
"It's good to see you too." Y/N replied leaning forward to wrap the man in a hug.
"You look like shit." They both say at the same time before breaking into laughter.
"You smell like a pub." Freddie said scrunching his nose and lightly punching Y/N's shoulder. "Come on brother I know we said we'd do everything together but don't tell me you followed me to the grave."
"I can't say it didn't cross my mind." Y/N admitted as the look of disappointment crossed Freddie's face. "But I have no idea how I got here, where ever here is. Is this hell?"
Freddie burst into laughter at the assumption, they both predicted that the sins of their lives would lead them straight to hell.
"No, surprisingly I was up north until you decided to get yourself in this predicament." Freddie informed laughing once again at the look of shock Y/N displayed. "Yeah, who would have thought? Me in heaven?"
"Wow they let any old riff raff in that joint." Y/N joked receiving another punch. "So where are we then?"
"It's somewhere in between." Freddie informed getting serious.
"Between what?"
"Everything, but more specifically, life and death." He answered looking into Y/N eyes. "A place not many people get the chance to be, so that you can make a choice not many get to make. So you need to choose carfu-"
"I'm not going back Fred-."
"Yes you are!"
"There is nothing there for me Freddie."
"Nothing there for you?" Freddie asked angrily grabbing the collar of his shirt. "You have a family. brothers, your sister, your nephew....my son. Do you know how many people would kill for this chance? What I would give to be in your shoes? To kiss my wife, raise my son. No no you're going back. You're going to live your life and I'm not gonna see you for a long long time." Freddie shouted tears in his eyes.
"And the next time I do see you," He continued. "Your gonna tell me about them...about Karl and Ada, about whatever women or man you con into loving you, about your children and their children after that. I don't want to hear anything else from you until them." Freddie says letting Y/N go.
'Hey!'
'Y/N, where are you?'
'Y/N get up. Wake up.'
"What the hell is that?" Y/N ask looking around for the source of the voice.
"I'm that means it's time for you to make a decision." Freddie informed. "But I think we both know what the answer is. I know we used to say that death is easy, but being away from the people I love is the hardest thing I've ever had to do. So when it your time and we see each other again brother....we'll have all the time in the world."

"Y/N!" Tommy yelled shaking his brother. "Wake up."
Tommy didn't react much when he found out that the pub had been blown up, after all he had been the one to do it, but he felt his heart drop after Finn informed that he had seen you going towards the pub before after the funeral.
The Shelby family rushed to the destroyed remains of The Garrison, immediately digging around the rubble for the missing member.
It had been John who had found Y/N buried under so wood and alerted the other as he began removing the charred building remains until they were able to haul his body out.
"Come on wake up." Tommy said tapping his face.
"Oh thank god." Polly sighed out as she watched her nephew's eyes begin to open.
"Freddie?" Y/N asked looking up at his brother in confusion.
"No, you're home now." Tommy corrected pulling his little brother into a hug. "You're home now."
