@hyperfix8edcryptid and i celebrated our 4th anniversary up in Ohio this past week. It was so good to see our little nieces, my bro, and my parents 🌈💚
Also look at the frog and toad print she got me it’s too perfect 😭 My mom’s verdict on it: “awwwww cute…I didn’t know they were gay!”
Simple ID: various pics of me and Leah, both white people with short brown hair, on a hike, at a Lake Erie beach, and one where Avery is holding up a small black and white print of Toad offering Frog a bouquet of flowers over the words “the lovers”

Hey all. I got dizzy and out of it today and almost couldn’t drive to therapy. I was scared to drive home so my parents picked me up. My mom said I was pale and that I should go to urgent care. Here’s what happened.
I had blood work done, urine sample, even an EKG. They’re not 100% sure what’s wrong but the nurse that I spoke to wants to monitor me because my heart rate is much too high and it has been every time I’ve come into that urgent care since 2019. After fasting tonight I’ll go back in the morning to get blood work done again. I’m also getting a heart monitor.

Having said all that wow It's so nice being awake early and thinking of cuddling with f/os.
This morning's edition is Sunny, James, and Diantha, age 3, coming in from her room, letting in Karat and Sombra while she does.
Edit: LOL i ended up writing a blurb which-- hey! Fantastic! I was having severe writing block for a while! Anyway for those curious it's under the cut- I'm not going to tag anyone for it but it's G rating.
(✨Okay to Reblog✨)
Since Diantha was born, Karat has slept in her room, long ago abandoning James and Sunny to keep vigil over her. She follows Diantha everywhere and Sunny's heart is already breaking for the dog at the mere thought of how she'll react when Diantha goes to school in two years (or one- she's a clever little thing and might get in early like Sunny did at that age.)
Sure enough, Karat, that big platinum retriever, comes to lay between them with a characteristic wag of her tail. James won't admit it but it's comforting to feel her crushing weight over his tender feet yet again- Karat was his dog, his puppy, but she's grown now and has taken on the roll of Diantha's protector all on her own and he couldn't be prouder. Sombra, as all cats are wont to do, would rather sleep where she fancies- last night it was her bed in the living room, this morning theirs. She hops up and sinks into a bit of Sunny's pillow above xyr head with a soft 'mrrrp' and promptly begins grooming Sunny's hair.
James spends a solid minute trying to pet Diantha's curly hair off her forehead as she gets comfortable, a direct copy of Sombra, but it's no use, it's a jungle of curls just like Sunny's and while it's still short it'll just keep flopping over into her face.
Diantha, tired of Papá trying and obviously failing to fix something, huffs with all the energy of a child who's seen this before and knows it'll happen again and is, quite frankly, tired of it. She just woke up, after all. "Déja, Papá," she even batts at his hands, "deja!"
Sunny covers her mouth to hide her dimpled grin. "Día, amorcita linda," her voice is tender if not tremulous with tampered down laughter, "try to tell him 'déjalo por favor' and maybe he'll stop. You know how to ask nicely."
Diantha lifts her chin and fixes her fierce, hazel eyes at James. Most adults flinch when they see her eyes but not James. He only sees himself, after all. It's a small but powerful homage to him- Diantha got Sunny's hair, her brown skin and nose, even the shape of her eyes and while neither James nor Sunny have hazel eyes, it's not hard to see a smaller version of James with the way she glares at the world with a defiance that, thankfully, doesn't bleed into their home life.
For the most part, anyway. She is three, after all.
"déjalo papá," Diantha's eyes are sharp but her voice is soft and that's all that matters, "por favor."
So of course, he stops.
"thank you." She says, unprompted. She even gives him a peck on the jaw.
"She needs a haircut." James says to Sunny, voice gravely with sleep but the humor is there in the curl of his smile.
Sunny flicks her dark brown eyes up to smirk at the tuffs of honey wheat blond hair threatening to fall in James' eyes. He's decided to start wearing the front a tad bit longer but this doesn't feel deliberate. "Don't we all."
James snorts. "Touché."
Diantha flips over to nuzzle into Sunny's arms. Talk of haircuts is boring. "Mamá I had a dream."
"Oh you did?" Sunny perks right up and lays down on xyr back to coax her up on xyr stomach and Diantha follows before promptly resting her head on xyr chest to gaze at James.
"Mhm."
"Ay, mi flora preciosa, what did you dream about? Hmm? Díganos, por favor." Sunny kisses the top of her head and James watches, melting from the sight of the early morning light streaming in and bathing them both golden. Diantha's eyes never leave his- admittedly, she's got a bit of a staring problem but they're working on that if only to prepare her for the world outside their home, their fortress.
When asked why she stares she says she likes colors- she likes James' because they remind her of cloud gazing and Sunny's because they remind her of gardening; they've actually recently replanted some Dianthus flowers, (she's just learned that's her namesake. Diantha struggles sometimes to remember things but that's okay, they're not going to let her forget.) and she's giddy to watch them grow- if only they'd grow faster...
Diantha stares and stares but James doesn't mind it one bit- he stares back, lips curling into yet another bemused smile as Diantha begins to babble about dragons baking cakes- truly a dream fit for a toddler and it hits him again and again in rushing waves as Sunny reaches for his hand midway through that yes, this is his family, this is his.
Retiring when he did, adopting Karat, marrying Sunny, having Diantha... every choice he made leading up this moment- this brilliant moment tied intrinsically to a billion other brilliant moments happening each and every day- all of it culminates and condenses into a star like entity settling in his chest, warming him from the inside out as Sunny laughs at something Diantha said, as Diantha tries to tickle her mother in retaliation. He did this.
He can feel his future in the palm of his hand now, smooth and soft, squeezing his fingers, and see it in front of him, golden and beautiful, laughing and alive.
He couldn't be happier.
