How I Met Her Mother | Part 2 | Tighnari x Reader
Romantic: Tighnari x Collei's Parent! Reader
Description: When Collei and the traveler discover Tighnari's feelings for her adoptive parent, they make it their mission to get them on a date together through a (maybe unnecessarily) elaborate plan.
(Notes: none) (gender neutral reader) (reader is Collei's adoptive parent) (Part 2 of How I Met Her Mother)
Read Part 1 here!
I didn’t plan to do multiple parts originally but @4o3ok3id you ask and you shall receive! <3
Since you'd moved back to Gandharva Ville, you'd been extremely stressed. Between your work as a doctor, helping your daughter with her own health issues, and trying your best not to inconvenience any of the forest rangers, things could be a lot. However, more recently, you'd started to notice a few of those worries easing, as if someone had been lightening the load on your shoulders.
And, of course, that someone happened to be Tighnari; your close friend from back during your Akadamiya days. You didn't think he was aware of the fact that you'd noticed, but you had. He was always offering to take in some of your extra patients since he had some medical expertise himself, even after you'd essentially become Gandharva Ville's personal doctor. He kept you as updated as possible on Collei's condition so you wouldn't be left worrying in the dark, he let her rest in his own hut on her off-but-not-life-threatening days so you wouldn't have to see it, and the amount of times he'd brought over dinner for the two of you due to having 'made too much for himself' so you wouldn't have to worry about cooking was becoming too much to count.
You were extremely touched by it and always tried your best to repay him for his kind acts, though he rarely ever accepted anything, claiming he 'was just doing his job as head forest ranger.'
You weren't the only one that had started to notice his abnormal kindness towards you and your daughter, though.
"He brought you guys dinner again?!" Paimon exclaimed a little too loudly as she, Collei, and Aether crouched behind some bushes by your house. "That's, like, the third time since we've been visiting!"
"I know," Collei replied, "Master Tighnari is very kind, and I think he can tell how stressed they are. I just wish I could do something to help them too; I hope I don't make them worry too much..." Aether could see the green haired girl starting to look sad and immediately tried to come up with a way to cheer her up. Luckily, though, Paimon seemed to have that covered.
"Collei!" She exclaimed, flying a little closer to the girl while still staying far back enough that she wouldn't accidentally touch her and make her uncomfortable, "Do you realize what this means?!" She got loud again and, momentarily, the rustling in your kitchen nearby stopped. All three of them froze but after a second it continued as you went back to preparing the dinner the forest ranger had brought; seemingly deciding not to investigate the loud noises outside.
Aether shushed the little flying girl as Collei frowned slightly. "...No?" Paimon looked exasperated.
"Do you?!" She asked, turning to the blonde traveler, who shrugged. "Ugh!' Paimon exclaimed, "Isn't it obvious? Tighnari has feelings for Collei's parent! You two are both clueless."
"He...Does?" Collei asked, looking a little confused but the longer she though about it, the more she had to admit that it did add up. Even before you'd adopted her when she was little, there had seemed to be something going on between you two that was different from your friendship with Cyno or anyone else.
"Of course he does!" Paimon replied, "You should have seen the look on his face when he told us how they'd met, Collei! Paimon can't believe she didn't realize it at the time but it all makes sense now!" Beside her, Aether couldn't help but nod in agreement; she had a point.
"...I guess that would explain why he always does so much to help," Collei admitted finally, "And why he seems so much less strict around us than the rest of Gandharva Ville. I always thought it was just because they'd graduated together, but Cyno was in their class too and Master Tighnari is even stricter towards him than anyone here!"
"Exactly!" Paimon exclaimed. This revelation put a smile on Collei's face. After all, you and Tighnari had to be two of her favorite people in the whole world. You'd taken her in when she had nothing; a scared child that was recovering from having the remains of a god essentially exorcised from her body. You were young yourself at the time, and yet you'd agreed to raise her as your own without a second thought.
And then there was Tighnari; the man that had taken her on as a student the second she'd shown an interest in plants and basic level of competence. He'd helped make her who she was today; taught her to fight, empowered her when she felt like she couldn't ever be strong again. He'd even helped stave off the symptoms of her Eleazar alongside you.
The idea of the two of you potentially entering a relationship- or better yet, getting married- made her grin widely. She already saw Tighnari like a second parent with all that he'd taught her, even if she would never be brave enough to tell him that to his face. Having you both as her official parents would be a dream come true, and if it would make you happy, she'd support it without a doubt.
"I hope Master Tighnari tells them about his feelings soon!" She exclaimed excitedly now, "I'm sure they feel the same!"
"Knowing that guy, I wouldn't count on it." Paimon replied with a sigh. But then she seemed to get an idea because she suddenly turned and eyed Aether in a way only a scheming Paimon could. He gave her a 'what are you thinking?' kind of look but she just turned back to Collei. "What if we help them out?" She suggested, making him raise an eyebrow, "There's no way someone like Tighnari would confess to your parent; and especially not if he feels like they're already stressed. But if we nudge them along, maybe we could help them finally admit their feelings!"
There was a pause as Collei seemed to process this. On the one hand, as your daughter, she wanted you to be happy and not have to worry about her so much despite her illness. On the other, she knew it might be wrong to get involved in the situation when it really wasn't her place. After all, it was possible her mentor had his reasons for not admitting his feelings to you yet.
...Unfortunately for Tighnari, though, the first reason won out in her mind and she finally nodded at Paimon. "Alright," she said with a wide, excited grin. "Let's do it. Do you have a plan?"
"You bet Paimon does!" The little pixie exclaimed, motioning for her and the traveler to follow.
Aether couldn't help but feel he'd regret being involved with this later.
..........
"And that's why all of you should take on a little extra work today!" Paimon explained, concluding her longer-than-necessary presentation. The huge group of forest rangers, whom she'd dragged out of their rooms in the dead of night to convince, all looked at her with dead expressions. Beside her, Collei seemed to get a little nervous at the silence.
"Please." She added kindly. The rangers blinked and another silence followed before one raised his hand.
"If we agree will you let us go back to sleep?"
"Yes!" Paimon chirped, making the whole group cheer, "...Quietly!" They immediately silenced their joy before retreating to their rooms to get a few more hours of sleep before the sun would rise. Luckily, Tighnari hadn't been scheduled for any night patrol this evening so if they kept silent enough, he wouldn't realize the entirety of Gandharva Ville had been brought out for a meeting without him.
"I think that went well," Collei smiled as she turned to the pixie and the traveler. Paimon nodded.
"You think they'll follow through with it?" Aether asked. He didn't seem doubtful, though; just curious.
"I do!" Collei replied, "And don't worry, I'll take on some extra work too. Between all of us forest rangers, we should be able to give Tighnari a lot less worry about!"
"Which lets us continue with the next phase of our plan..." Paimon grinned evilly despite the actual act she was doing, which was very selfless.
"Before then, though, we should get some rest." Collei told them, "I'll meet you in the morning for breakfast, where we can continue with the next part of our plan!" They both nodded at that before the group split up and went their separate ways.
What they didn't seem to realize, though, was that their conversation had been overheard by someone whose lips tugged into a grin.
..........
The next morning, Paimon, Collei, and the traveler met bright and early for breakfast. There, they went over their plan while also not-so-casually observing Tighnari from afar as he went about his morning. The other rangers hadn't taken on much of their extra work yet, considering the day had just barely gotten started, but it seemed like the lead ranger was already becoming surprised by just how little he actually needed to get done.
He'd already checked back with one of his patients to find Collei had taken care of them before he could and that one of the nearby withering zones he'd planned on clearing today was already gone.
Things were going perfectly so far, and as soon as the group finished their breakfast, they bid one another goodbye before going their separate ways. Collei needed to do her actual job as a forest ranger trainee, and so it was the traveler and Paimon's turn to put some of this plan in motion.
They headed out to the nearest withering zone, which happened to be not far from your medical tent, and made sure they would be nearby if anyone got injured.
When a few rangers inevitably did and started heading for your tent, Aether immediately got in their way.
"You can't see Y/n!" Paimon exclaimed dramatically, "They're- uh, completely full! Yep! No more patients for them today; you'd better let him teleport you to see a doctor in Liyue Harbor instead." She pointed to Aether, who quickly nodded in agreement. The rangers exchanged glances among themselves but after a moment, seemed to decide the two were trustworthy because they nodded and allowed the traveler to make use of his teleport waypoints in order to take them for medical attention.
"And here I thought Y/n could never turn away patients," one of the rangers commented, "They must be beyond swamped right now! I hope they're alright."
"We should let Master Tighnari know not to send anyone else their way when we get the chance." Another agreed.
"No!" Paimon exclaimed, surprising them both. She immediately stiffened and pulled herself together, "Paimon means...We'll tell Tighnari for you! So don't worry about it!" Again, after a moment of deliberation, the rangers nodded before disappearing with Aether. The little pixie sighed in relief. If they told Tighnari not to send anyone for your medical attention, he would either suspect something was up and go talk to you about it or get worried about you and also go talk to you about it. They couldn't have that; not until they were ready for you two to meet up later.
"Paimon just hopes Y/n won't be upset we sent their patients to Baizhu," the girl said to herself, knowing the Liyue doctor was something of a rival to you. There was no animosity there; just a bit of friendly banter, but it was enough for you not to want Gandharva Ville's people going to him over you.
When Aether returned from teleporting the injured rangers to the harbor, he held up a thumbs up for the pixie, who nodded in relief that it had worked. They'd likely have to do this many more times today, of course; forest rangers tended to get hurt very often. But at least this meant there were two more they wouldn't need to worry about, which was better than nothing.
After all, if they wanted you two to have time for one another later, they needed to make sure both you and Tighnari had free work schedules for the day.
..........
"Master Tighnari!" Collei called, knowing the fox-eared forest ranger wouldn't be busy at the moment, thanks to her and the others' plan. She found said ranger near his hut, where he appeared to be cooking yet another meal that would make way too many servings for someone living alone to eat. When the green haired girl arrived, he immediately looked up at her.
"Collei, is there something you need?" He asked, clearly feeling a little awkward about being caught doing something so unproductive by his own trainee. What he didn't know was that she'd planned it that way.
"We're out of bandages and Padisarah's." Collei informed her mentor, "And we have a patient with a wound that could really use both over at the medical tent." It wasn't totally true; she had no idea if a patient at your tent required those things. But since both the bandages and the herb were resources they went through the quickest, it was a lie Tighnari would believe and take seriously, which he did.
"I see," he replied, glancing at the food he was still cooking, "Let Y/n know I'll head out to pick some more up today, and not to worry." He knew you too well, and had this been a real situation, Collei knew you would have called him a life-saver like you always did. She smiled, nodding with relief.
"Okay!" She told him and then went to head for the medical tent, only to pause on the way, "Would you like me to come with you to help? I know we usually buy our supplies in bulk so it could be difficult getting everything back here without a sumpter beast." Tighnari paused for a moment, remembering that the last of the sumpter beasts had been taken out that morning for other tasks (something Collei and the others had had nothing to do with but appreciated anyway).
"Yes, I suppose that would be a big help..." He decided finally, "Thank you, Collei. We'll head out in a few minutes, but please go let Y/n know first." She nodded before running off.
Tighnari had specifically given himself extra time not only because you needed to be informed if your daughter left Gandharva Ville but also so he could finish the food he'd been preparing to give you and her for lunch. Once it was finished, he took it from the cooking pot and wrapped it so it would stay fresh until he could give it to you, which would likely be later in the evening than he'd planned.
Collei returned a few minutes later, having actually let you know she'd be leaving but not the real reason why. Then the two of them were on their way after Tighnari checked one more time that he had no other pressing work to get done. Of course, he didn't.
Their walk to Sumeru City was quick and uneventful, and soon enough, they were in the market shopping for bandages, Padisarah's, and another item Tighnari wasn't yet aware of.
"Master Tighnari, look!" Collei exclaimed, pointing to a formal suit that was on display at one of the clothing shops. She'd seemed so excited about it that he had to come over but was surprised now to see what exactly she'd been pointing at.
"A...Suit?"
"Isn't it beautiful?" She asked, aware of how strange she sounded, considering she'd never showed any interest in men's formal wear before. "It reminds me of this story my parent told me once." At this, the forest ranger's fox ears perked a bit.
"Oh?" He asked, silently urging her to continue.
"After their graduation from the Akademiya, they got invited to attend a party in Fontaine," Collei explained, "When they attended, their date wore a purple suit, but it clashed with the outfit they'd picked and made them look awful together." The story she was telling was real, though you hadn't been nearly as dramatic when you'd told it as she currently was. "They broke up after that, but they always say he should have worn green like this suit because it goes with all their clothes."
With that, she turned and walked off as if she'd finally found the Padisarah's they'd been looking for. Planting the seed of an idea in Tighnari's head would hopefully be enough and she needed to be out of the way so he didn't feel any judgement when acting on it.
She made sure to inspect the herbs for much longer than necessary before glancing back at her mentor, who happened to have an extra shopping bag in his arms now that hadn't been there before. The suit that had been on display was also gone now, making the green haired girl's smile widen. She bought the herbs they needed and then turned back to the head forest ranger, who looked at her expectantly.
"Ready to head back to Gandharva Ville?" He asked, "Y/n would never be upset with us for taking too long but I wouldn't put it past them to badmouth me to their patients in order to make them feel better."
"They always say having a common enemy is a big part of bedside manner," Collei giggled, "They need someone to blame for the patient's prolonged pain." Tighnari chuckled at that, shaking his head as he lead the way back towards the village.

CHAPTER 00
In the supposedly peaceful and beautiful world - Y/n, a beautiful God(dess) in a white robe and veil, had been engaged in a fierce battle to protect your city from marauding Gods. Your barrier stood resolute, deflecting attacks and safeguarding your people, but the more you fought, the more you felt your energy wane.
"Your majesty! Please, it's enough!" A voice was heard from behind. But despite the pleas of your beloved subjects to cease the battle, You remained unyielding, your bowstring singing as you sent arrow after arrow towards your foes. The Archon War had erupted unexpectedly, shattering the harmony among divine beings who were once friends. You couldn't comprehend why you were now locked in a merciless struggle for your nations' survival.
"You must be getting tired. How about resting now?" taunted by your enemy God, reveling in your weakening state. Undeterred, You glared back, refusing to back down. Your resolve was unbreakable; You were determined to defend your land until your very last breath.
"I will not! I will never back down until my last breath!" You yelled.
"Let's see about that, Goddess Y/n!" They said, as they were ready to launched another attack.
But just as you braced yourself for another attack, a familiar voice broke through the haze of battle.
"Ma/Pa.."
"Ma/Pa.. ma/pa.."
"Mama/Papa!!"
Startled, You gasped, your battle-weary eyes fluttering open. You found yourself in a small, warm room, and your attention was drawn to a tiny, innocent face—the face of your adorable daughter, Yuna.
"Mama/Papa! You're awake, right?!" Yuna's tiny hands shook you, urging you back to consciousness.
"Mama/Papa, it's time to wake up!" You blinked, the memories of your celestial battle fading into the background as you're fully awake now.
"Oh, Mama/Papa's awake now, dear Yuna," you whispered, your exhaustion momentarily forgotten as you lifted your daughter into your arms.
Yuna's innocent eyes widened with concern. "Mama/Papa, you were making scared noises in your sleep. Did you have a bad dream?"
You smiled, brushing a gentle hand over Yuna's cheek. "It was just a bad dream, my love. Mama/Papa's fine now." You marveled at the contrast between the dream's fierce goddess persona and the reality of your role as a loving parent. How could such a powerful being in your dream world be the same person who cuddled with your daughter each morning?
"Let's focus on happier things," You suggested, ruffling Yuna's hair playfully.
"Hehe, okay! Let's eat breakfast now, Mama/Papa! I'm hungry!" Yuna's enthusiasm was infectious, and you couldn't help but smile at the sight of your daughter's radiant joy. You dismissed the surreal images of your divine battle as a dream or perhaps the result of watching too many fantasy movies recently.
"What would you like to eat today, my little sunshine?" You asked.
Yuna's face lit up with excitement. "Pancakes, Mama/Papa! With strawberries!"
You chuckled, the remnants of the dream slipping further away with each giggle. "Pancakes it is, sweetheart. Let's make them together."
With a tender smile, You kissed Yuna's forehead. "And also good morning, my precious. I love you."
Yuna giggled, her laughter echoing through the room like music. "I love you too, Mama/Papa!"
Together, you both ventured into the kitchen, the aroma of pancakes filling the air as you expertly flipped them on the griddle. Yuna stood on a chair, her eyes wide with fascination as she watched her parent cook.
What had seemed like a fierce, otherworldly struggle faded into the background as you dismissed it as a fleeting nightmare. Perhaps it was the result of watching too many fantasy movies, you thought, trying to rationalize the vivid dream.
"Yeah, it must be a dream," You reassured yourself, embracing the reality of your daughter's laughter and the aroma of breakfast wafting from the kitchen.
"Mama/Papa, are you a superhero?" Yuna asked suddenly, her innocent curiosity sparking a twinkle in her eyes.
You paused, caught off guard by the question. You knelt down to Yuna's eye level, your expression tender. "Well, I might not be a superhero, but I'll always protect you, my dear. You mean everything to me."
Yuna beamed, her small hand reaching out to grasp yours. "I love you, Mama/Papa!"
"I love you too, my precious Yuna," You whispered, your heart swelling with an overwhelming sense of love and gratitude.
You prepared a hearty meal for yourself and for your precious daughter, Yuna, savoring the simple pleasures of your shared moments. As you both sat down to eat, Yuna's innocent chatter filled the room, momentarily pushing away the lingering thoughts of that dream you had earlier.
"Mama/Papa, what's your favorite story?" Yuna asked between bites of the pancakes.
You smiled, reminiscing about the stories you used to hear as a child. "My favorite story is about a brave god(dess) who protected their people from all the dangers of the world. They were strong, just like me, and they never gave up, no matter how tough things got."
Yuna's eyes widened with admiration. "Wow, Mama/Papa, you're like that god(dess), right?"
You chuckled, ruffling Yuna's hair affectionately. "I try to be, sweetheart. I'll always protect you and keep you safe, no matter what."
You only wished the best for your daughter.
That's all you need..
Those dreams probably meant nothing, right?
Tumblr media
Days turned into weeks, and weeks into months, with You and Yuna sharing your lives in blissful harmony. You had put the strange dreams behind you, attributing them to a mere figment of your imagination, yet the memories of your battles as a god(dess) lingered, casting a subtle shadow over your peaceful existence.
It also arose so many questions..
Why do you have that dream?
What does it mean?
Is it a past life?
Why are you remembering it?
You're already happy with youe daughter. You don't want to be burden with a problem you don't even know about.
That was all just a dream anyways..
But one evening, as the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in hues of orange and pink, you found herself lost in thought on the porch of their cozy home. Yuna, now a bit older but just as radiant, skipped over, her eyes filled with curiosity.
"Mama/Papa, why do you sometimes look so sad?" Yuna asked, her voice tinged with concern.
You smiled gently, your fingers tracing the patterns of the wooden porch. "Oh, my sweet Yuna, it's just Mama/Papa's thoughts wandering. Sometimes, grown-ups think about many things at once."
"But you can tell me, Mama. I'm a big girl now!" Yuna insisted, her determination mirroring her parent's.
You sighed, realizing that your daughter was growing up and deserved to know the truth, or at least part of it. "Alright, my love. Mama/Papa had some strange dreams lately, dreams of battles and wars. It felt like I was someone else, someone powerful but burdened by the weight of protecting others."
Yuna's eyes widened in awe. "Like a superhero?"
You nodded, a bittersweet smile playing on your lips. "Yes, something like that. But these dreams were so vivid, as if they were memories from another life. It's all very confusing, Yuna."
Yuna reached out and held her parent's hand, her grip surprisingly strong for a child her age. "Mama/Papa, I think those dreams are trying to tell you something. Maybe you're meant to do something important."
You looked at your daughter, marveling at the wisdom hidden behind those innocent eyes. "You're right, Yuna. Perhaps there's a reason I'm having these dreams. I just wish I knew what it meant."
You couldn't help but hug your daughter. Just how caring and smart is this girl? This daughter of yours is too perfect to be yours. She's far too wise..
Even you can't come out with such an advice. But your 5 years old daughter could.
"You're so mature, aren't you, my love?" You said, as you kisses your daughter's chubby cheek who giggled in return. "Hehe! Because I am a big girl!"
"Yes, you are a big girl, love."
Though you couldn't exactly shake the feeling of being a powerful god(dess) in that otherworldly battle, your memories of an archon war still vivid, despite the comforting reality of your daughter's presence.
"Mama/Papa, can I ask you something?" Yuna's innocent voice interrupted your thoughts.
"Of course, my sweet," You replied, setting your daughter to your side to give your full attention to your daughter.
Yuna looked up at you with those big, curious eyes. "What were you fighting in your dream, mama/papa? Were you super strong?"
You hesitated, unsure of how to explain the complexities of your dream world to a 5-year-old. "Well, it was just a dream, dear. In the dream, Mama/Papa had to protect something very important, just like how I always protect you."
Yuna nodded thoughtfully. "Like a superhero, right?"
You smiled, relieved at the simplicity of Yuna's understanding. "Yes, like a superhero."
"Cool! I wanna be a superhero too!"
"Study first-"
"But mama/papa!!"
"Just kidding~!"
But as the day went on, you couldn't shake the feeling that your dream held a deeper significance. The memories of the archon war and the title of "God(dess) Y/n" haunted your thoughts, refusing to be dismissed as mere fantasy.
That night, after tucking Yuna into bed and planting a gentle kiss on her forehead, you found herself unable to sleep. You decided to indulge your curiosity and did something you hadn't done in a long time-you opened your laptop and began searching for information about archons and the concept of divine beings.
But you found no information about all the things you remembers in your dream.
Is it just.. a dream?
Lost in thought, you murmured, "God(dess) Y/n... Archon War... it all feels so distant yet so real."
Yuna, ever perceptive, approached her parent out of nowhere, her eyes wide with curiosity. "Mama/Papa, is something bothering you?"
"Ahh!" You almost fell down your chair when you saw your daughter standing next to you. Gosh! She's scary sometimes!
"Gosh, you scared Mama/Papa, love." You said, as you sighed in relieved that it was only your daughter. Yuna shrugged her shoulder before climbing into your lap and sitting comfortably.
"Why aren't you sleeping, baby? Didn't Mama/Papa tucked you in already?"
"Can't sleep yet.." She respond, as she hugged her doll tighter before looking back to you.
"So.. what's bothering you, Mama/Papa?" She asked curiously.
You smiled, your heart swelling with affection for your sweet daughter's concern. "It's nothing, sweetheart. Just an old dream Mama had like i told you before-"
But as you spoke, a sudden jolt surged through you, a flash of memories and emotions that felt too vivid to be merely a dream. You saw yourself clad in divine armor, battling against other gods. Faces once blurred became clear in your mind's eye.
"The Archon War.." You whispered, the words heavy with realization. "It's like.. a reality.. I'm not sure.. but I felt like I've known about it like a long time ago.."
Yuna's eyes widened with wonder. "Mama/Papa, what's an Archon war??"
You shake your head, your mind racing to comprehend the implications of your rediscovered identity. "I don't know, sweetie.. but there was a war. But why? Why were we fighting? Why was i fighting? What am I protecting..?" You questioned, confusing the little girl even more.
"Ehh.. really, Mama/Papa? Maybe you died and got reincarnated? I saw a movie about that!" Yuna explained.
"Reincarnated? Wait- how did you know that big word?" You asked. Yuna giggled as she snuggled into her doll. "Hehe! I heard it from watching marvel!"
"Right.. Hawkman.."
"Hehe! I like Ironman and Hawkman!" Yuna said excitedly, as she raised her doll up like it was flying.
You sighed. "Maybe I made her watch so many movies.."
Still.. how can this be?
Why are you remembering all this memories now?
You already have a life with your daughter..
Why now?

As you navigated the bustling city streets, your thoughts were consumed by the anticipation of seeing Yuna's face light up with joy upon receiving the special treats you had bought today. The aroma of fresh donuts filled the car, tempting your senses as you carefully maneuvered through the traffic.
Your dedication to your daughter, Yuna, was unwavering. You juggled a demanding career as a high-profile fashion designer for a prestigious modeling company while ensuring that your daughter's upbringing was filled with love, happiness, and positive role models. Your decision to distance yourself from your previously abusive and greedy household was a testament to your commitment to providing Yuna with a safe and nurturing environment.
As you drove home, the box of delectable donuts sat securely on the passenger seat, tempting your senses with their sweet aroma. You couldn't help but smile, thinking about the joy these treats would bring to your little girl.
"I bet my baby would like the donuts I bought today," You mused aloud, your excitement palpable. "It's definitely the best ones I've tasted! I'm sure she'll like them."
With each turn of the wheel, your anticipation grew. The thought of Yuna's radiant smile and the delighted squeals of a child about to receive a cherished surprise filled your heart with warmth. There was nothing you wouldn't do to ensure Yuna's happiness and well-being.
She is your precious girl after all.
Who wouldn't want the best for their child?
"My precious baby... I so missed you, my Yuna. Mama will be spoiling you a lot this weekend for sure. Hmm... maybe I'll take her to the water park this Saturday?" Your thoughts were filled with excitement as you drove home, your anticipation growing with each passing moment.
However, in the midst of your joyful reverie, you failed to notice the fast-approaching truck until it was too late. The deafening impact sent shockwaves through your car, causing it to veer off the road and collide with the oncoming vehicle. The world around you blurred into chaos, and time seemed to slow as the accident unfolded.
Huh?
The world around you spun into chaos as the impact of the collision reverberated through your body. Glass shattered, metal twisted, and the sound of screeching brakes filled the air. Darkness enveloped you, and for a moment, time seemed to stand still.
When you finally regained her senses, you found yourself trapped in the wreckage of your car. Pain radiated through your body, and as you tried to move, you realized your injuries were severe. Panic welled up within you as the realization of what had just happened sunk in.
Your thoughts immediately turned to your daughter, Yuna. Fear clutched at your heart as you desperately called out to your little girl, but there was no response. Panic and anguish swirled within you as you fought against the pain and the wreckage that held you captive. I must go back to her! I still haven't given the donuts to my precious baby!
Pain shot through your body as you clung to consciousness, your first thought being of your precious Yuna. Panic continued to surged within you as you struggled to assess the situation.
Summoning every ounce of strength, you managed to unbuckle yourself and crawl out of the mangled car. Your vision was blurred, and your limbs felt heavy, but you had to go home to Yuna.
Your legs wobbled, panic turned to dread as you thought about Yuna waiting at home with the nanny, unaware of the accident. You had to get home, had to make sure your daughter was safe.
In the midst of the chaos, your thoughts were solely with Yuna. "I hope my Yuna is safe," you thought, your heart pounding with fear and concern. The seconds stretched like hours as you struggled to regain your bearings, your mind racing with worry for your daughter.
In the distance, you could hear voices shouting, the wailing of sirens approaching.
Your car's front end was crumpled, and the truck involved in the accident was equally damaged. The scene was chaotic, with concerned onlookers and emergency responders swarming around.
"M-my daughter," Y/n's voice laced with desperation. "Please, you have to help me. I need to get home to her."
The emergency responders arrived swiftly, their skilled hands working efficiently to extract you from the wreckage. All the while, your thoughts remained fixated on Yuna, your love for your daughter propelling you forward.
In the ambulance, amidst the blaring sirens and the medical team's urgent voices, you clung to consciousness. Your mind was a whirlwind of fear and determination. You couldn't let go, not when your little daughter syill needed you.
"It's gonna be okay, ma'am! Don't lose your consciousness! We're almost there!"
"We have to immediately take first aid!"
(Idk about this.. uh things so bear with it lol)
At the hospital, doctors and nurses worked tirelessly to stabilize you. Hours passed in a haze of pain and worry, but through it all, one thought persisted - your precious daughter, Yuna. You needed to be there for her, to protect her, just as you had always vowed to do.
As you lay there, pain coursing through your body, you felt a profound sense of urgency. The world around your became hazy, youe vision blurred. You knew your time was slipping away, like sand through an hourglass. The paramedics rushed to your side, their voices a distant echo in your ears.
In the midst of the chaos, you fought to find your voice, to speak your final words before surrendering to the abyss. With a tremor in your weakened voice, you whispered to yourself, aware that youe daughter, Yuna, remained oblivious to the tragedy that had befallen you.
"Yuna," you choked out, each word infused with a mixture of anguish and love. "My sweet, beloved daughter, I hope you can hear these words, even if only in your heart.."
As you felt the grip of life slipping away, you found yourself caught in a whirlwind of emotions. The pain and confusion consumed you, but amidst it all, you clung to your final thoughts, desperate to convey your love and remorse to your beloved daughter, Yuna.
Barely able to speak, your voice reduced to a mere whisper, your mind screamed with unspoken words. You yearned to tell Yuna how sorry you are, how deeply ashamed you felt for leaving your behind in this world, alone and unaware of the impending tragedy.
Blood pooled in your throat, choking your words and stealing your breath, but your thoughts raced with determination. With every ounce of strength you still possessed, you wished for your daughter's growth, for her to thrive in a world that you had only begun to understand.
In the midst of your pain, your love for Yuna burned brighter than ever. You wanted your daughter to know that your absence was never a choice, but a cruel twist of fate. Tears welled in your eyes, mixing with the blood that stained your lips, as you silently begged for forgiveness.
As the medical team continued to do their work on helping her, their urgent movements a blur around your fading consciousness, You held onto the image of Yuna in your mind. You whispered your final words, a desperate plea, hoping that somehow, in the vastness of the universe, your daughter would feel your love and hear your apologies.
In those fleeting moments, Your thoughts transcended the physical realm. You poured your heart and soul into a silent scream, a profound expression of love and regret that resonated in the depths of your being.
Through the pain and struggle, You fought to string together more coherent thoughts, desperate to convey your feelings, hopes, and apologies to your beloved daughter.
"My sweet Yuna, forgive me... I never wanted to leave you, my baby," you whispered in your mind, your voice quivering with a mix of love and anguish.
"I won't witness your first heartbreak... but remember, my darling, you are stronger than you know. You will rise above the pain and find love again."
"Yuna, my precious baby, don't let my absence hold you back. Embrace life's opportunities, explore the world, and chase your dreams with unwavering determination."
Her thoughts grow strained and weak, you continued, your words a fragile thread connecting you to your daughter's future. "I wanted to guide you, to be there for you... but circumstances have robbed us of that chance. You must find your own way, my love."
The tears flowed freely as your thoughts turned to the milestones you would miss. "I won't see you find your lifelong friends, those who will stand by your side through laughter and tears. But know that true friendships will enrich your life in ways I could never imagine."
"Yuna, my heart aches at the thought of not witnessing your wedding day. But when that time comes, know that I am with you in spirit, overflowing with love and pride as you embark on a new chapter of your life."
Your voice grew fainter, but your determination pushed you to utter one last plea in your head. "Promise me, my sweet Yuna, that you will live a life filled with joy, passion, and purpose. Seek happiness, embrace love, and never forget the strength within you."
As the darkness closed in, your final thoughts were consumed by your daughter's welfare. "Please, someone... protect and cherish my Yuna. Be the support and guiding light that I can no longer be. Love her as fiercely as I do."
With your strength waning, you held onto the hope that your whispered words would find their way to Yuna's heart. You longed for your daughter to know the depth of your love, the remorse you felt for leaving too soon, and the unwavering belief in Yuna's ability to navigate life's challenges.
And as your consciousness slowly faded, your final thoughts were a fervent wish for your daughter's growth, happiness, and the fulfillment of all her dreams.
"I love you, my Yuna.."
In your final moments, your thoughts were consumed by your undying love for Yuna, a love that transcended the boundaries of life and death. As your eyes fluttered closed, your last thoughts were of your daughter's smiling face, a beacon of light that guided you into the unknown.
You couldn't fight your dead..
Not again..
You failed again..
You failed protecting someone again..
And in that fleeting moment, as the world faded to darkness, you found solace in the knowledge that your love for Yuna would endure, an eternal flame that would continue to burn brightly, even in your absence.
'I'm so sorry, Yuna..'
Tumblr media
Yuna played contentedly with her dolls, her imagination leading her on adventures only a child's mind could conjure. Her nanny and also Y/n's best friend, Kate, sat nearby, keeping a watchful eye on the little girl as she indulged in her imaginative play. Yuna was a charming but particular child, especially when it came to her food preferences. Yet, her undeniable cuteness made her nannies' hearts melt, rendering any minor inconveniences inconsequential.
Kate focused on the news broadcast playing on the television, its volume low so as not to disturb Yuna's playtime. But then, an unexpected news report abruptly seized her attention.
"A twenty-six-year-old woman/man was caught in a car accident," the news anchor announced solemnly. "The authorities have confirmed their identity. Tsukuyomi Y/n. She/He is a famous fashion designer for the Famous El Vera Company, who lives with their daughter, Tsukuyomi Yuna, in the..."
Kate's breath caught in her throat as she listened to the news report. Time seemed to stand still as the weight of the information sank in. Her eyes darted to Yuna, oblivious to the gravity of the situation, her innocent laughter filling the room.
She quickly turned off the television, not wanting Yuna to overhear the devastating news. Panic welled up within Kate as she contemplated how to handle the situation delicately. She knew she had to inform Yuna about her parent's accident, but how could she break such heart-wrenching news to a young child?
Taking a deep breath, Kate approached Yuna gently, crouching down to her eye level. She mustered a warm smile, masking the anguish she felt inside.
"Hey, sweetie," Kate began, her voice trembling ever so slightly. "I have something important to tell you about your mom/dad."
Yuna looked up, her big, innocent eyes filled with curiosity. "What is it, Nanny?"
"Well, darling, your mommy/daddy was in a car accident," Kate said softly, her heart breaking at the thought of shattering Yuna's world. "They're hurt, and they're in the hospital right now, getting the help they needs."
Tears welled up in Yuna's eyes as she clutched her doll tightly, her heart aching with a profound sense of loss. In that moment, the world seemed to crumble around her, and the reality of her mother/father's absence began to sink in.
"But... but Mama/Papa promised they'd come back, right?" Yuna choked out, her voice breaking as she struggled to hold back tears. "They said they'd bring me donuts today... they can't be... they can't..."
Kate fought back tears, mustering all the strength she had. "Yuna! I'm sure the doctors are doing everything they can to help them! But it's important for you to know that they loves you very much, and they want you to be strong and brave while they recover."
A flicker of fear crossed Yuna's face, and she clutched her doll tightly. "Can I see mommy/daddy?"
Kate's heart sank. She knew the truth had to be told, no matter how painful it was. "Sweetheart, I'm so sorry, but right now, your mommy/daddy needs to rest and get better. The doctors won't let visitors in. But you can send them your love and thoughts, and they'll feel them, I promise."
Tears welled up in Yuna's eyes, and she buried her face in the safety of Kate's arms. "I want my mommy/daddy, Kate. I miss her/him."
Kate enveloped Yuna in a warm embrace, her own eyes filling with tears. "I know, sweetheart. I know it's incredibly hard. Your Mama/Papa loved you very much, and they'll always be in your heart."
As Yuna clung to her, seeking comfort, Kate whispered a silent prayer for strength and guidance. She knew that the road ahead would be filled with challenges, but she was determined to be there for Yuna, to support her, and to help her navigate the difficult journey of healing and acceptance. She was only a little girl and she had lost her only parent. Isn't Y/n's family full of abusive people? Yuna will be in danger for sure..
Kate hold Yuna tightly in her arms, as she embrace the little girl and whispering comforting words to her.
'I promise to protect your daughter for you, Y/n..'

Tighnari is a good dad, and it's absolutely precious watching him with his kits.
He's always teaching them which plants are dangerous and which ones aren't, random facts that their ears always perk up when hearing. No matter how many kits you have, all of them are part-fennec like their dad. At least he knows how to deal with that side of them.
'Nari lets his kits climb all over them. They're on his tail, his shoulders, even clinging to his back like koalas! It's surprisingly adorable seeing him become a jungle gym while helping someone un-poison themselves..
And, of course, he loves caring for the kits too. His days off are celebrated, as he is an excellent cook. More often than not there's at least one kid helping him out. After all, he's got to teach them what spices taste good together, what's good for them and what's not, etcetera.
Truthfully, he's never been happier. He adores having the little ones, especially those with you.
[Requests open ! Rentry with info in pinned :3 also pls reblog if you like my shit likes just do not help]

WEN YUAN is not sleeping well.
He often wakes up at night, whimpers, pokes nose into your chest or hip, trying to curl up into a ball, like a tiny kitten looking for the presence of his parent, without which his body became as tense as a stretched arrow of a bow — and sleeps badly. You can't leave even for a moment, holding him tightly to you, not letting the puppy even for a moment feel the absence of the smell of his parent, the head of the pack, in which only he and you are.
Perhaps it would be more correct to raise him communally, as everyone do with orphans, — but you can't afford this, even if you have enough things that require attention. The time after the war is always difficult, especially with the abundance of demonic cultivators and evil spirits, but you can't remember the last time you took up weapon, spending all your time with documentation and your puppy, which is so sticky and clingy — sometimes it seems to you that you have a small tail, who purrs quite when you press put him to chest, and fall asleep in your clothes in a simple nest that you always make for him when sit up late.
WEN YUAN loves big nests, snacks (especially sweet ones), burrowing into your clothes, beautiful melodies and watching you do something, and you really try your best not to indulge him excessively, even if the sight of his ruddy plump puppy-ish cheeks causes you to be touched and delighted. He doesn't smile as brightly as before, before what happened, but you still do everything possible to make him a happy and protected puppy, even if someone calls it wrong. This is the first time you talk seriously to him when he tries to fake a smile to make you happy, realizing it by the eager sparkle in his eyes full of impatience — and even if it makes you feel warm, you have already had the experience of this "I'm fine, please look at my smile and believe that everything is fine".
This is the first time you calm your puppy in your arms, convincing him that you don't blame him at all, but you don't want him to fake his emotions just for you — (you've already had such an experience) you're flattered that he's doing this for you, but that doesn't mean it's necessary. Everything is fine (everything is fine now), there is no need to portray anything (do you really think that I don't see?!), you will accept any of his emotions (you continue to run from problems, pretending that everything is fine!) and feelings (have you ever thought about me?!). After all, it's harmful for everyone to fake their emotions (what are you talking about? I'm totally fine), and he doesn't need to do this unless absolutely necessary (how can I be with you if you constantly leave me behind?!).
You will accept your WEN YUAN by anyone (you are not like other alphas), no matter (you are special) who he is (even if you are an alpha) or what he will do (after everything we have been through...), he is forever your puppy.
(you can mark me! this will be our secret!)
There is an evil world around him, with terror and pain; but he only needs to hide, sleep soundly and not be afraid of anything. You will take care of everything else. You can't bring back his biological family, — you would give anything to do that, — but you can make this puppy your family, not only by blood, but by feelings. Instincts. Smells. Rubbing against him, leaving your fragrance on top of his milky one, letting him bite your skin slightly and trying to get into the fabric of your clothes to feel hidden and small — you really do what you think is necessary, raising your son the best person, no matter if he turns out to be alpha, omega or beta.
If WEN YUAN wants to, he will take over your duties — but if he doesn't want to, then you will find someone else to raise. He will choose his own path. He will live in a much nicer and more peaceful world, even if you perfectly understand that this does not mean that the world will be safer when you rub your nose against his stomach, making the puppy giggle. He will have a choice — what you didn't have; he will have a loving pack, a strong foundation, peace and protection.
What you didn't have.
what he didn't have(?)
And one day he blows you away.
He will definitely do it.
just like he did.
You have made millions of mistakes — and you will make no less in the future. Sorting through documents and letters while WEN YUAN sleeps on your lap, so small but strong, you know that it doesn't hurt anymore. Nothing else hurts in your heart anymore.
and the mark doesn't hurt anymore.

Can I’m have a platonic request from owl house collector x parental reader who always wanted a child but it couldn’t then y/n meets collect and learn his history y/n decides to adopted him and y/n is very overprotective over them also I’m don’t see collector as a god who have a appearance and mind of a child for me it like a child who have powers of a god headcanons please
(this is like the 3rd The Collector request)
(The Collector goes by he/them and i'm using him)
Tumblr media
The Collector x Parental!Reader
you probably never found a guy that you liked. You always wanted a family but a family needs a good father yk?
you met The Collector while you were taking a walk in the woods, it wasn't too warm or cold. It was the perfect weather to take a walk.
When you stumbled across The Collector, at first you thought he worked at the circus or something like that. I mean he was wearing an unusual outfit and he had what you assumed face paint on his face.
You guys started talking for a bit he was a nice boy. You kinda felt bad for his ''parents''. They must've really love him, he was a very cheerful child.
When you eventually learned that he didn't had parents at first you kinda felt bad for him and then it hit you...this wasn't a ''child''.
I mean you should've realised sooner, no kid would dress up like this and be wondering around the woods this late.
He is a god. But he seemed so sweet and it was obvious that he didn't had a place to stay in, did gods even needed homes?
You offered him to stay over and to your surprise, he accepted your offer!
Ever since then, you guys started living together, like a family.
The Collector is someone who gets bored very easily so it's really hard to distract him you'd have to play with him for hours for him to get tired. He's just too energetic.
Don't get me wrong you like playing with him but at times you get tired. He's just so exited to find someone who is willing to play games with.
At first you were low-key scared of him but at this point he's like your real child.
He might be a god but he has the looks and has the mind of a five year old. You'd see him as a five year old. I mean he's very whiny when you don't give him attention, if you're busy he wouldn't leave you alone until you play more games with him or he'd sometimes try running off by himself even though you tell him that it isn't the best idea.
You tried making him look more like a ''witch'' but uh...that doesn't go so well. He isn't all that patient and he'd just would not let you to do your thing because he's always moving.
You don't really want him to leave the house because someone might try to do something to him or he'd just scar the other wizards/witches. He has very high potential to cause trouble around.
He doesn't like this rule so he often tries getting out of the house and each time you catch him.
He's extremely clingy to you like he'd just come up to you and hug you out of nowhere and when you ask him why'd he do it, he'd just say ''I don't know''.
Also you have top give him affection back. If you don't, he's gonna be very sad...and whiny.
He'd play any game you want with him. It doesn't really matter as long it is a game. You guys mostly play hide and seek.
-Over all you both love each other and find comfort in a way?

You lived in the town of South Park for quite some time, the mayor doing anything for you to stay since you were the only thing going good for them
Since no celebrity wanted to visit their town at least they had you to donate to schools, donate to hospitals etc.
But one day, you were supposed to give some sort of speech to the fourth graders, requested by the principal and mayor, and so you of course appeared and were in the back going over your lines
You were going over your lines, cringing every time your voice cracked and forgetting the things you originally wrote on the paper. Suddenly you felt a slight tug at your leg. You looked down to see a kid with blonde hair and a scar over his left eye
He seemed so innocent and by the two seconds you looked at each other not talking, you wondered on how he even got the scar
"Heya there Mx. L/n." The kid said, you smiled warmly and ducked down to his height
"Well aren't you cute!" You chuckled, pinching the kids cheek as he laughed with joy, "what brings you backstage?" You asked, taking a peek through the closed curtains to see parents and children sitting and waiting for you to come out. But oddly, three front seats were empty, how strange
"Oh, I.. just wanted to ask-"
"Butters! What are you doing?!" A voice yelled out, your head shot up to see a man with his hands on his hips looking disapprovingly towards the child in front of you. A blond woman standing right next to him with her arms crossed
"Were so sorry Mx. L/n, this won't happen again." The, what you were assuming, father said, pushing the boy towards his mother
"No it's fine-"
"How could you do that?! You are grounded s soon as we get home." The mother whisper shouted as she tugged at the boys ear, pulling him offstage. The father soon followed as you stared at the scene whit knitted eyebrows
From that day on you would see the boy getting scolded by his parents practically anywhere you went!
You went to the store to buy groceries to fill up your fridge? You saw the boy getting scolded by his dad as he stared at the floor shamefully, children his age snickering behind him
You would just be walking down the street and spot the boy looking out of his window with a sad expression as his mother ushered his friends away, saying he was grounded for the most stupidest things imaginable
You would be sitting at the park and see him getting dragged away from his friends by his dad. Being pulled by the ear as his dad practically yelled at him
When you would go on late night walks you could hear the familiar voice of either his father or mother yelling at him to stay in his room
You felt bad for the kid, you really did. But you knew you couldn't do anything about it... Unless
You walked down the street, two bodyguard's following. One bodyguard held a suitcase while the other was ready for a fight. Every step you took you glared at the house you constantly saw the boy in, either looking out of his window or getting dragged in by his parents
You and your bodyguard's quickly arrived as you lifted your fist up. Knocking on the door you heard yelling from the inside, a male voice
"Butters, could you open the door?" The muffled voice said, at least that's what you think you heard
"Okay dad." The muffle voice of the boy said as you heard light footsteps approach the door. The door handle fiddled for a while before it completely opened
The boy stood on his tippy toes, holding onto the handle as he stared at you in shock
"Who is it?" The father said, his voice much clearer now
"Uh.. it's Mx. L/n." The boy said, tilting his head slightly as if talking to his dad, but his eyes were still glued on you
"What?!" The dad yelled, you could hear shuffling and footsteps running towards the door before the father came into view
"Oh, Mx. L/n! How great for you to show up, come in." The father said, moving out of the way as he motioned for you to come in
You looked back at your bodyguard's, jerking your head, they nodded and walked in first, you following behind them.
"Yes, what can I get you? Would you like some coffee? Or do you prefer tea-"
"We would like to make an offering." You said, taking a glance towards the young boy that stood at the doorway, "but I suggest you take the boy to his room first." You said, the younger boys eyes widened in fear as you suddenly felt bad
"Right away. Butters, get back in your room this instance young man!" He yelled, the boy nodded before rushing up to his room, "What is this offer?" He asked
Before you could speak a person emerged from the kitchen, it was the boys mother
"Oh dear- what is going on?" She asked, looking towards her husband
"Don't worry ma'am, we're just here to make an offering. I suggest you sit down as well." One of your bodyguard's said, the woman nodded and sat down next to her husband
"We would like to buy your son." You spoke, your tone cold. The parents eyes widened as they glanced at each other and then back at you
"we couldn't possibly-"
"we are offering $40 000 cash." You said, and on que your bodyguard's opened the suitcase and showed it to the parents
That's all it took for them to give in. You, being the nice person you are, gave the boy two days to pack and say goodbye to his parents
The boy was frightened and in his mind he thought it would be like something he saw on tv. You would torture him and use his body for experiment, but he was delighted to see that you actually treated him well
It took him a while to get used to but eventually he called your mansion a home
Although he wouldn't call you mom/dad/parent for the next 6 months you were still happy
The first few weeks he was living in your house you made sure to spoil him rotten. You would buy him all kinds of gifts, clothes and made sure to buy him enough materials for arts and crafts
You spend more time with him, arranging movie nights, baking cookies together, drawing together, you even improved his superhero costume! Although you can say you still enjoyed the original
When you didn't have time for him you would buy him a toy or two to make up for it, although you've gotta be honest. You had some instances where you made the mades do homework with him, play with him or take him to school/his friends house, but you still made up for the lost time by either buying him something or taking him somewhere
Butters especially enjoyed when you went somewhere, you could just take him to the park and just sit on the bench as you watched him play but he still loves that you're there. Y'know, the small things
I can imagine every time he gets home from school or gets back from a sleepover or whatnot he would tell you everything that happened
You would just laugh as he acted out the scenes, but you have to admit you would get a bit worried when he talked about a school fight he saw or something similar
But you enjoyed every second you spent with him. And you do not regret buying him one bit, even if that sentence sounds wrong we are not going to question it

this one is just for the demon children, in reverse au. Let's imagine a scenario where they were found, still babies, by the demon reader who, whether out of curiosity or another reason, decided to raise them. It could be something short about them growing up with their demon father or the kids' impressions of what it's like to have a father who isn't human.
Adding to this is another scenario where a hashira (canonical, if you want to give names) finds the child with the demon and tries or even manages to kill the father and take the child with him. What would our three children's feelings be about this and what would they do?
Sorry for being so long, but your blog excites me
It's ok, I like these long texts at requests, to people to share their ideas and explain them. This looks more than a divergence than Reverse AU, but hey! It's 100% welcome here. I love to see everyone's concepts.

Daki (ft. Gyutaro):
The boy (Gyutaro) holds his sister (Ume/Daki) close to him, she is barely a toddler, yet he must heat her up outside on the snow. Their mother doesn't like them in the house when it's winter. She doesn't mind them any other station, since she goes out to try and get clients and drugs, but in winter she stays inside, and she hates them. Still, three years old... he is still amazed of how much she is growing, and at the same time, worrying she isn't growing up enough. She neesd more food, better food, she also needs a warm place to stay, and many other things he never had. At his 16 years he works for it, collecting debts, but he can't leave her alone in this cold. What if she dies?
Then he notices a figure, a male adult before him, eyes glowing in the dark. He holds his sister tighter as you get on your knees in front of him. "You both smell like frozen meat, do you think you will survive the winter outside?" The boy ignores you, they can, they have to, his sister can't die like this, and that means he must also live to take care of her. "You look very weak, even if your smell says otherwise. You think she won't die with you? Such a pretty child doesn't deserve such a fate." He knows it. She is pretty, she is worth the world, unlike him, but that is more reason to keep her alive. "Ne..... ne... And what would you have me doing?" He can barely speak up, but he does. "Our mother won't let us in."
You took a look on the little girl. You know well this place, here she will grow up into nothing more than a shell that sells itself for the sake of food, add power if things go well enough. She is beautiful, you can tell even at this young age, she would definetely be able the find someone to buy her services the second she turns legal at 13 years old. And for that same reason you know she has no place in here, nothing worth the little treasure she is. She could be a lot more, a lot of children in this place could, but you have a better feeling by this one. Even now, as she grips tightly her only source of warmth, you see she is a survivor, someone determined. She takes it from the boy helping her, you guess, but unlike her, he is alreasy tainted by this place. You might have come earlier, but that would mean facing the Kizuki that lives nearby. "I can take her away, to somewhere safe. Somewhere she will have a better future than as a prostitute."
To his credit, the boy seems to consider it. He looks very distressed, not knowing what to do with the cub in his arms. "Can... I follow from behind? I promise I won't be a bother. I won't talk and stay behind, you won't even have to look at me. But... I need to take care of her... that way you won't have to...." He talks rushed, but shy, not knowing what to do. It's, a bit sad, so willing to do whatever gives her the life she deserves but unable to let her go, to thw point he is willing to become nothing but an accesorie in her life. You don't comment on it, while weak he does look old enough to live by his own. "What is her name?" Is all you ask, and he looks at one specific direction, probably his mother's house, for some seconds before answering. "She doesn't have one." Now that is weird, even demons have names. Even uou have a name of your own. "And what is your name?" Same reaction, but he seems less ashamed of the answer. "I also don't have one... people just call me different names... insults that... are for me. But she deserves a better name."
You end up taking both, mostly doting on the girl that you ended naming Daki, something with a potential to live on. While on the boy, he is sixteen, old enough to choose what he wants to be called, and you tell him so, waiting for him to come up with a name and tell it to you. He ends up choosing Gyutaro. A very ugly name, but you guess Daki isn't much better. In the end, Gyutaro is a lot more helpful than you expected. He is able to make up with few as you stay in caves, using snimal skin and your victim's possesion to build something, besides always having a campfire onn. You teach them how to write and read, and in the end it's Gyutaro who ends up feeding her and making sure she is healthy, always staying behind when you play with her, watching. You don't know how to apporach him, you never did, considering he was 16 when you found them, now he is fully an adult, even if he never became healthier or bigger, no matter how much he ate or rested, but he is stronger. He even decided to ho back to the district and take the job as debt collector again, comming every once in a while with money and gifts for Daki.
You make your mind on turning him too, once once the girl becomes an adult and you can turn her. The boy, now a man, is so strong he could easily become a Kizuki if he tried. Right now she is 13, and is playing outside at the sun, while you watch her over the shadow, using a little river nearby to entertain herself by splashing and collecting rocks. "Otou-chan, look! I found pretty rocks. Can you save them for me as I look for more? I want to give these ones to onii-chan, the next one is for you, I promise!" Such a beautiful child. "Of course, my little princess." But of course, the second she is some steps into the sun, you see someone moving fast into your direction, making you move back into the cave. "OTOU-CHAN!" She screams in fear, sound reaching you as the blade starts to pierce through your neck smoothly, too smoothly. Is this a Hashira? Your neck is almost completely cut by the time the slayer moves because out of reflex when the girl threw a rock at him, then only to keep grabbing things to try and stop them. You see the human trying to talk to her, tell her to run away, as she screams "NO! GET AWAY FROM HIM! I'M TELLING YOU TO STAY AWAY FROM MY OTOU-CHAN!"
You manage to get the scent of Gyutaro not so far. "DAKI! GO OUTSIDE! GO GET YOUR BROTHER!" It was a mistake to tell her that, you wanted to be safe, but the second she was out in the sun again and began to scream for Gyutaro, the Hashira cut your neck effortlessly, attacking you from behind before you could realize where he is. Everything because you were paying attention to the girl. The cut in the neck hurt, then, you began the desintegrate from thin air. It doesn't really hurt, but it fills you with despair, specially as you see the slayer go to Daki and grab his wrist. "What the- LET ME GO! LET ME GO RIGHT NOW! ONII-CHAN! OTOU-CHAN! HELP!" You hear her crying, slowly realizing in the middle of evevrything why you are not going to save her, still shouting for you as her beautiful voice breaks ans her eyes shed tears, still struggling against the man as she pulls her amr and hits him.
But... then there is a sense of calm, because suddenly, with a kanna on his hand, Gyutaro is behind the slayer. "Oi, oi, oi...." he says before stabbing the heart of the slayer before he could react. "What are you doing to my sister, ne?" At least she will be safe, and that is the only thing that matters right now. "OTOU-CHAN! OTOU-CHAN! NO! DON'T LEAVE! DON'T DIE! I WON'T FORGIVE YOU! I WON'T!" But there is nothing you can do about it. You look at your cub, wanting to smile but already being without a mouth, just sheding some last tears with her as... everything becomes a numbing black.
Kaigaku:
Kaigaku never met his parents, he was an orphan for as long as he remembers. You, on the other hand, don't remember having a child ever, but that doesn't mean you never did, with your memory loss. Most demons under Oyakata-sama do remember their past, you have no idea why you are different, but it has never stopped you from anything you wanted to do. You are able to run free, to eat, to make, to control... and yet, when you see a child in front of an orphanage, sitting alone in the dark, there is a nostalgic feeling growing inside you. Did you ever find another child like this? Were you a child like this? It's impossible to know now. But you are aware, this child is lonely... and afraid. He wants to survive, to live, he has determination. A fire- no. A thunder in his eyes.
"I'm not going to hurt you, little one." How old is he? How did human age work again? You don't even remember that. For you, he could be 2 the same way he could be 12. But he is young, young enough that his legs are too short, his face and body are chubby and lacks defines muscles. "What is your name?" You try again as he doesn't answer, doesn't move. "Kai.... Kaigaku...." he says softly, voice almost girlish as it hasn't reach enough levels of testosterone to sound like anything else. You look at him and you feel so much warmth and value from such small body. "Nice to meet you, Kaigaku. I would like to be your friend." Something in the boy's eyes lights up at that last word. "Will you be my friend?" And that was all you needed to take him with you.
You... do make mistakes. Like feeding him with raw flesh sometimes... it took you a while to realize he won't get used to it. You could always transform him, but you would rather wait until he is an adult for that. To let him live his childhood fully, without being tainted by thirst. You also realize fast he can't be out in the cold... and that he needs to drink heated up water as any other also makes him sick, and that his moods swings depending on if he is hungry or cold or sleepy, because he needs to sleep a lot more than you thought he would. Well... this IS harder than you expected. "We will live here from now on, Kaigaku." You say as you bring him to a warm, cozy home out in the middle of nowhere within the trees and definetely did nor belong to your last dinner...
But the boy is happy here, happier than ever. You start learning how to cook with books, realizing you have to also teach the boy to write and read. It's a bit hard... everything. But you see him grow up and smile everyday, and even form a temper. "To-san! To-san! Look! I killed a boar by myself!" And he also grows up too fast. He is definetely a teen now, an age he can already be considered an adult but... he is still your little one, that small and puffy kid you found alone in the dark. That is an image you will never forget. "Very well done, kid."
And then it hit's you, literally. A thunder breathing technique, no doubt, there is no other way it coukd have reached you fo fast before you even realized someone was there. The blad cut half of your neck as you grab it to avoid being decapitated. "To-san!" You hear your boy, your cub scream for you, and you have no idea what to do. Specially when you see the golden button in the jacket of the uniform. It's a Hashira! You have no chance against one. The only reason you are alive right now if because the slayer stopped his speed and strenght, probably to not risk hitting Kaigaku. It seems that same thing has saved you, because Kaigaku tries to get in between the affair, screaming at the slayer, who tries to take him away and explain the situation while he is attacked by the boy with a knife and keeping you at bay by cutting your limbs whenever you get close.
You are afraid he might loose his patience and defend himself against the cub, but also, the more you look at him the more you think. You don't want to die, you can't, not know, not when you are the only person in this boy's life. If you die, he will end up all alone in this cruel world. He doesn't deserve to be like that again, sitting in the dark, cold, alone and afraid. You can't let that happen again, but how can you face a Hashira? What might be ebough to deal with one? "To-san, run! I will distract him! I will see you back home!" "Don't do anything foolish! Kaigaku, stop!" You also lunge at the slayer to prevent anything to happen, making sure to cover your neck with your arm, the cub gets to scratch the face of the sword user before being sent away by a strong push, flying to the side as you jump to catch him. The boy is unconscious, and you have to let him fall on the ground amto evade another slice on the neck, barely making it again.
You just... care too much for this boy to leave him. Even if he isn't yours by blood... by blood. That... that might be it. You see the scratch on the slayer's face, it still bleeds a little.... it might work, you loose nothing trying. You must try. When the human is close again, you rip off your arm. It hurts, a lot, but it bleeds directly into the Hashira's face. Usually demons don't rely in hurting themselves, but you are desperate. You need to save Kaigaku. The blood in his eyes blinds him for a while, enough for you to throw your arm at him, grab the boy and run. The transformation should start soon, and if you are lucky, the slayer will kill himself before it even begins the second he realizes demon blood touched an open wound.
You barely make it home before sunrise, but you do, not managing to close the door, but still hidding in a shadow. Your arm hasn't regenerated fully yet, and Kaigaku is still asleep. You let him wake up by his own. "To....-san?" You soothe him with your good arm. "Don't worry, kiddo. We are fine. We made it. All thanks to you." He really has a thunder inside him. He seems to calm down, only to cry his emotions out as you comfort him the best you can. Paises, pats, hugs, everything you can do right now. It's fine, it will be.
Zohakuten (ft. Clones):
"YOU DID WHAT?! HOW DARE YOU?! I SHOULD KILL YOU FOR IT! YOU PROMISED HIS MOTHER YOU WOULDN'T THROW HIM OUT!" When Hayato (Urogi, 13 years old) and Kazuo (Aizetsu, 12 years old) overheard Toshirō (Sekido, 17 years old) and their father arguing, they ran to the street, where Zohakuten (who the fuck names their child "Hatred"?) was thrown, a four year old thrown into the streets. It seems that is what the two eldest are fighting about, since it happened when all of them were away, even now Masami (Karaku, 15 years old, the only one who already goes by that name in the streets) is still at work, so they can't rely on him while searching. Did he ran away? Was he taken? Have they failed their youngest brother already? Attacked by an animal? It's already dark, who knows what happened, and they don't exactly live in a safe area. Then in one turn, they see you, picking him up as he sleeps in your arms.
"HEY! HANDS OFF! THAT'S OUR LITTLE BROTHER! GIVE US ZOHAKUTEN!" Screams Hayato as Kazuo grabs him, sensing something wrong about you. Your eyes glow... why are your eyes glowing? "Hayato, one of us should look for Toshirō or Masami." You were about to answer when you have to move fast to evade a blade in your neck. A slayer? You jump towards a ceiling to look at that person better, still holding the child that grips you tightly in dreams. Such a precious and unprotected cub. From an open window from an inn a another human, similar to the other too, shows his face, clearly sweaty, covering himself with a sheet, smelling like arousal. "HEY, BASTARD! COME BACK HERE! YOU STILL HAVE TO PAY ME! I DIDN'T TAKE ALL YOUR SHIT UP MY ASS SO You-..." He shuts up when gazing the other two. "Hayato? Kazuo? What are you- Where are Toshirō and Zohakuten?!" He smells afraid now.
Thankfully, it was a weak slayer, slightly drunk, definetely tipsy. Easy to kill once in his blind spot by a hit in the neck. The two first humans paralyze at that while the green-eyed runs, already dressed. You were going to leave in the silence, but the third one arrives. "Wait! Wait! Don't take him!" He blocks your path, annoying you slightly. "I know what you are, you... he won't taste that good. I... I can offer a lot more. I can serve show and dinner... willingly! Amuse you for as long as you need then you can just eat my flesh, but please let him down... I am good at-" "Silence." He does obey you, even if he looks as if he is about to cry or laugh, probably both, but he still doesn't move or relax, looking at the cub in your hands. A few seconds pass as the blue-eyed human speaks, hugging the gold-eyed one's arm. "Please. Just give him back. We were just looking for him. It was our father the one who threw him out. We want him back. We will take care of him, just... don't hurt him or Masami. Our onii-san is working on the matter, it won't happen again, we promise."
Then there is suddenly a scent of blood nearby in the area that wasn't there, big amounts, full of alcohol. "Blood and alcohol nearby." All of them seem to pale as the cub stears, you rock him in your arms in an attemp of calming him down. "Please... Toshirō... we.... I'll do anything. Toshirō is important to Zohakuten." You both spend the time in silence, until you settle for a compromise."I won't hurt the cub. I carry him to his home with you." They can't trust him with you, nor you can trust him with them. But still, it's acceptable enough, even if the Masami one takes the slayer's sword with him. When you arribe to the house, too small, dirty, smells like alcohol all over, you find a red-eyed version of these humans besides a corpse, being badly hurt himself. "Toshirō! Toshirō, what happened?!" The Toshirō one is panting, grabbing his wound in the stomach, before talking. "He is dead, we must leave before anyone else finds out."
You just grab the cub when everything happens. You all end up in a house of your victims or caves, moving together, since nobody can do anything about it. Zohakuten is stubborn and attatched to each one of you, as you are the one who take care of him most of the time, he starts calling you "papa". They changed their names to emotions, except Karaku... he said he was already recognized by that in some places and he wanted to keep working, so he would keep it that way. The others also begin to work, but Karaku dis keep the sword. You wonder if he would joing the slayer corps if it wasn't because he is afraid you will hurt Zohakuten. "Papa! Papa! Let's play!" You wouldn't, not this beautiful boy. Between all of you, it's easy to keep him happy and give him everything he needs, specially when all of them reach adulthood. "Papa, can we go out and see the stars? I really can't sleep."
You were never able to tell him no, that was something that for once, you shouldn't have done. You went out alone while the others were asleep, and suddenly... you need to cover the boy as you are attacked by a sword. You remember the night you took the boy in your arms by the first time, this slayer is muchas faster and stronger. Is he a Hashira? Probably. This means this time you are fucked. Also, a difference from that time is that Zohakuten is awake, so he screams. Both the afraid voice and the cut are painful, as you move to try and let him on the floor to face the slayer. A bit of your blood feel on the cub's face, what if the slayer attacks him thinking there is a risk of transformation?
"Kid, you need to run back home! Go back to your brothers!" You say without taking your eyes off the Hashira, who doesn't take them off you in exchange. "Go!" You urge him as the slayer ruches over you the second your skin begins to heal, making you grab his wrist while you duck. "NO! I WON'T LEAVE YOU TO THIS BULLY! THIS VILLAIN!" As endearing as that is, it's not the time for that. He needs to get out of here. "I can handdle it for now. Look for the others so they can help!" Ypu lie, there is no way you can survive against a Hashira by your own enough time for a 12 year old human to go all the way home and back. But you have a priority. "Listen to your papa, go get help!" After some seconds of silence, "ok...." he runs away, you can only hear his steps.
He will probably cry and curse you, he does have a bad vocabulary, courtesy of you and Sekido. Sekido will probably lead the process of moving on without you, he could feel Karaku thought of you as a threat, only keeping you around because he felt little of a choice, not liking or trusting you, having Aizetsu and Urogi around you all the time. Had you listened to him and brought one of them with you, you might have survived. But no, you are beheaded easily and left for death, but you did manage to run away on the opposite direction to hive Zohakuten time to get home. Urogi and Aizetsu will at least remain comforting the little guy, and Karaku will, as always, keep working.
Your heart aches as you die alone in the dark, wishing to have been able to comfort the cub one last time, or at least say goodbye. But it's over, and at least he will never be alone as long as he has his brothers, hence, you beg they never become slayers. Never.

Hello dear! It's been a long time :)
I've read some of your Mandela Catalog fanfics and they are amazing!
I would like to make a request, how about the Reader (who was a friend of the Murray's and took care of Adam after the divorce as Lynn didn't have much time to spend with him) take custody of him after his parents died?
Adam at least grew up with someone :) and the Reader always sang songs when he got sad about his parents...
But the events are the same as the Mandela Catalog (Volume 1 and 2 etc.)
In the meantime, the Reader ends up dying for an Alternative, after months of the Reader's death, the events of volume 2 happen and then the events of Mandela Catalyst happen.
Basically, Thatcher finds Adam singing one of the songs that the Reader sang to him to calm him down, but since it's not the Reader singing...he can't calm down at all .
Just Angst in general...sorry :)
Oh boy this one hurt a LOT to write. Strap in and be ready for (several) different timeskips (and a whole lot of angst)
.........
--September 1992--
"Hey, [y/n]. I'm so sorry to bother you, but-"
"It's okay. What's up? Do you need me to watch him for a bit?"
"...I actually needed to talk to you about something important, but he hasn't stopped crying, and...shit...I-I just need a little bit of help if that's alright. I can't calm him down."
Hearing Lynn's exhausted sigh over the phone, you frowned slightly. It especially pained your heart to hear her son's wailing in the background, yet you realized she called you around this specific hour last time..with the exact same problem.
It was strange, honestly.
You would've thought she'd figured out what was going on with Adam by now.
"Wasn't Jude there earlier? Don't tell me he bailed and that's why he's-"
"No. He actually showed up this time and watched him while I was in a meeting. Everything was fine..a-and Adam didn't make any fuss when he left. But now he just started up the waterworks again and...god, I don't know what to do anymore.."
"Well you tell the little guy to hang tight, okay?" You reassured her as you grabbed your keys, jacket, and shoes. "I'm on my way over."
"Thank you so much, [y/n]..I'm sorry about this-"
"Don't be. It's not your fault. I'll see you in a few."
"Alright, see you soon."
After hanging up the phone, you headed out the door and got into your vehicle, driving to the Murray's residence.
You've been close friends with Jude and Lynn, having supported them through nearly every milestone of their relationship: when they had their son, when they got married, and....when they unfortunately went through a divorce two years later.
To this day, you still weren't sure what caused their relationship to crash and burn. They were highschool sweethearts who hoped to move into the big city and have kids--the kind of dream any couple would wanna live out.
But then they became incredibly stressed over raising just one child alone, and thought rushing into marriage would resolve things quickly.
Instead, it only caused more friction between them.
Regardless, you still wanted to help them out. So you've offered to watch Adam for a few hours while Lynn went to work, or if she just needed to get out of the house and take a breather.
He's a good kid...aside from being either quiet or having huge crying fits with consistent patterns to them. You suspected he saw something scary and violent on television once and hasn't recovered since.
Lynn mentioned a toddler stress assessment he took, showing his scores ranging from low to zero, indicating he didn't respond to the stimuli properly. She would have been more concerned if other children his age didn't share similar results, all apparently due to them being witnesses to a "phenomena".
Whatever it was, it must've been traumatic enough for him to have these meltdowns seemingly out of the blue.
But you always succeeded at calming him down. Lynn mom had yet to see your methods, though she's convinced you're some kind of "miracle worker", doing a better job at parenting than she or Jude could.
Fortunately, she was going to find out today.
You arrived at the house, exchanging sympathetic smiles with the exhausted mother before she led you to Adam's room. There, he was in the corner bawling his eyes out.
"Adam, sweetie? Someone's here to see you." She cooed, but to no avail as he didn't even look up at her. Sighing in defeat, she stepped aside when you reassured her you'll handle it.
"Hey, buddy. It's me again." You spoke softly, kneeling down on the floor in front of Adam. For a moment, he fell silent and glanced up at you, hiccupping on occasion.
But when you opened your arms up to him, he started crying even louder and clung to you tightly. "Oh it's okay, kiddo. Shhh, I'm here." You hushed, holding him as you stood back up. "[Y/n]'s here now."
He could only blubber your name in response, snot and tears dribbling down his face as he nuzzled into your shoulder. You rubbed his back, wishing you could take away whatever made him this upset.
Since that wasn't possible, you did the only thing you could do in that moment.
And that was sing.
More specifically, sing a song you heard on the radio earlier today. It's one of your favorites, which always helps you calm down after a stressful day; surely it'll help Adam in his case, too.
Although your voice was soft and quiet, it managed to reach his ears as you sang to him, and eventually it worked its magic. His sobs died into sniffles, and then sniffles into silence.
You smiled. "Did you like that one? That's one of my favorites."
He nodded, now resting his head on your shoulder and closing his puffy eyes as you kept rubbing his back, humming softly. Before you knew it, he was fast asleep.
"....are you serious? I've tried singing to him and it does nothing!" Lynn whispered, astonished you were able to resolve that in a minute, when usually it took her an hour.
"Sorry, I guess he likes my voice better." You chuckled lightly, before your eyes shifted around the room. "Where do you want him? The crib as usual?"
"...as usual. I know he's supposed to be grown out of it, but he refuses to sleep anywhere else."
"It'll happen eventually, I'm sure." You set Adam down, making sure the pillow was comfortably underneath his head. Then you turned back to Lynn. "So...you wanted to talk about something?"
"It's..on the kitchen table." She muttered, confusing you as she turned and walked out the room.
You followed her to the aforementioned section of the house, noticing documents on the table. One mentioned child custody, which was signed by her and Jude...but also had a third blank line on it as well.
"Jude and I had a long talk, and...we both decided that if, god forbid, anything should happen to us and we can't be here to take care of Adam...we'd make you his legal guardian." She explained. "I know it's a lot to ask of you right now and I doubt we'll even need this, but-"
"I'll sign it."
She blinked. "R-Really? I mean..there's no rush. If you need time to think about it-"
"My mind's been made up. With those broadcasts having everyone on edge, it's better to be safe than sorry. But I hope it won't come to that." You picked up the pen, clicking it as you sat down to read the document. "I just sign here? Do I have to go to the court?"
"No, you can just sign it and I'll bring it to them tomorrow." She swallowed the lump in her throat, choking back tears of relief. "I-I just want Adam to grow up in a better place and..we trust that you can do that should it be necessary."
Nodding in understanding, you signed the paper, slipping it back into the folder before you gave Lynn a hug. "If this helps you guys out, then it's fine with me. Does Adam know?"
"W-We're gonna tell him about it, soon. But..thank you so, so much, [y/n]. This means a lot to us."
"Of course, I'm here for you and him till the very end."

"Lynn? Are you alright? I was driving by and noticed your door was wide open."
"......"
"Lynn? Jude? You guys here?"
"........"
"....Adam?"
"........"
"Anybody home at all? Hello?"
"........."
"C'mon, this isn't.....wha....o-oh my god. LYNN!! No, no, no, no, no!! What the fuck?!! Why would you...y-you....?! Oh Christ, I'm gonna be sick....I need to call 911-"
"[Y/n]? Where's momma...?"
"A-Adam! Don't go in there. Thank god you're okay, but wha...what are you doing out here by yourself??"
"...looking for my new friend."
"Huh? But..sweetheart, there's no one here but us."
"Not even momma?"
"N-No. She's..gone away for a while. And dad, too. But do you remember that talk we had about me looking after you?"
"Mhm."
"Well, that...starts now. I'll be taking care of you for a little while, okay?"
"Okay."
"Good, good..now let's go home."
--January 2002--
It's been 10 years since the worst night of your life, as well as Adam's.
You lost two of your best friends, and he lost his family.
The sight of Lynn's hanging corpse was forever burned into your mind, and you were still unsure of Jude's whereabouts to this very day. He was never found by the police..although you felt like they were too scared to investigate further and give victims like yourself the proper justice.
Nevertheless, you had a promise to keep. And so you've done your best to raise Adam as his legal guardian. Signing those documents all those years ago certainly streamlined the process of you gaining custody over him, and he didn't protest over it.
You never did tell him what actually happened that night. You don't think you'll ever be able to.
All you said was that you found him alone in that house and took him with you, clueless as to where his parents are. It was only partially a lie, yet you still felt guilty.
You tried giving him a normal life away from Mandela County, as it was simply too dangerous to live there. He grew out of the unusual behavioral patterns of his toddler years, thank goodness, and continued being a generally good kid.
In school, he took up a hobby in filmmaking, while also gaining interest in ghost-hunting shows and other subjects related to paranormal activity, including online forums discussing Alternates.
Although concerned about this interest he's been pursuing, you supported his passions.
After turning 14, he reached that "teen angst" state of his life where he was going through lots of changes and constantly flipping moods like a light switch.
And when you picked him up from school today, that bad attitude reared its ugly head for you to see.
He didn't greet you after getting in the car, keeping his headphones on as he stared outside the window, seething red. You did notice a small group of jocks, one of whom seemed to have a nosebleed while the rest scowled at your son, only to see you were staring at them too. They quickly scampered back onto the campus grounds.
But what you didn't notice was Adam rolling down his sleeves to hide his bruised knuckles.
As soon as you both got home, he threw his backpack onto the nearest table and stormed off to his room without speaking a single word to you.
Now any other parent wouldn't have tolerated his disrespect. But rather than chastise him when you knew he was already feeling shitty, you calmly walked towards his bedroom door.
It was partially open, though you gently knocked just to be polite. "Hey, kid..may I come in?"
"....sure. Whatever."
You pushed the door open more, entering to find Adam curled up on his bed, staring down at his music player as he shuffled through some songs. "Glad to see you're using the MP3 I got you for Christmas."
He didn't respond to that, instead burying his face into his knees and keeping his hood drawn over his head.
You sat beside him, knowing that you'd have to choose your next words very carefully from here on out. 'Wish there was some guidebook on caring for a grumpy teenage boy..but I'll have to figure this one out myself..'
"So..what're you listening to?" You asked, hoping to start up some kind of conversation.
"...if you care so much..it's Radiohead." His voice was slightly muffled, but you understood him as your eyes lit up.
"Oh! I love that band."
"You do?"
"Of course! You think I'm too old to enjoy it?" You feigned hurt, although when you heard him sniffle quietly, you sighed and rested a hand on his back. "Look, I noticed those kids staring when I picked you up. They look like the same jerks I used to meet in school. Did...they say anything to you?"
For a few long moments, he was silent, but eventually answered.
"They called me an orphan, so I punched one of them."
Your heart sunk. "Wha--Adam, you gotta be more careful. You could've gotten hurt or expelled-"
"So what? I'm supposed to just take it?" He glared up at you, his eyes red and watery. "I can't defend myself?"
"...that's not what I'm saying. What I'm saying is that there's other ways we can deal with them without violence. But I agree that what they said was wrong." Frowning, you gently brushed his curly bangs to the side. "They shouldn't be using orphan as an insult."
"Yeah. They think both my parents are dead, but they're liars. My mom's still out there, and if she comes back we can prove them wrong."
Ah.
You could feel this familiar conversation starting up again, but this time you weren't sure if Adam was going to be placated by your answer anymore. The more he pressed about it, the more he got suspicious and tired of the same excuses.
"....are we ever gonna go back to Mandela and try to find her, [y/n]?"
You shook your head. "I'm sorry, Adam. But you know we can't. I...have no clue where we'd even start."
"Then why doesn't she try to find us, instead? She must have escaped those things by now..unless she gave up on me."
"Wha--" You blinked, having no idea how he could've drawn that conclusion so quickly. "What made you think-?"
"I-I mean..it makes sense, right? It's been ten damn years and she hasn't tried looking for us once?" He started getting agitated, taking off his headphones as they no longer comforted him. "Maybe she wanted me out of her life for good. I mean...I'm the reason her and dad divorced."
"Adam, their divorce wasn't your fault at all. I knew your mom for a long time, and she loved you a lot-"
"Then why does it feel like she abandoned me?!!" He snapped, throwing his music devices onto the mattress before scowling at you. "Just tell me the truth, [y/n]!! I can take it. If she said I was a burden, then fucking TELL ME!!"
You took your hand off his back the moment he started shouting, feeling yourself tensing up.
The one thing you hoped not to do was make him angry, and yet here he was...lashing out. But you tried not to take it too personally and stayed quiet.
Not long after his explosion, Adam saw the look on your face and instantly felt remorseful for snapping like that. His face began burning with embarrassment as he looked away, fresh tears welling up in his eyes.
"..I'm sorry, I...I just-"
"I know you didn't mean it. It's alright." You carefully wrapped your arm around him, bringing him closer to you. "But you were never a burden to her. That's the truth. She loved you and wanted you to have a better life..one that she couldn't provide. I know you don't understand everything right now, but one day it's all gonna make sense. I can promise you that, son."
He sniffled and tucked his face between your neck and shoulder, trying to stifle his sobs as he mumbled about still missing her so badly. You held him even closer, feeling the poor kid shaking in your arms.
Luckily, you knew exactly how to remedy this situation.
"Adam?"
"Y..yeah?"
"...do you want me to sing to you like I did before? I know you got your music player, but..my voice might help you feel a little better."
For a moment he was quiet, but you felt him nod against your neck. You smiled and kissed the top of his hood, before quietly singing one of his favorite songs:
"Such a pretty house, and such a pretty garden. No alarms and no surprises. No alarms and no surprises...."
He closed his eyes as he listened to your soft voice, tears dampening the collar of your shirt. He felt like he did nothing to deserve you or all of this love after the way he acted earlier.
You could've left him alone, or got angry right back at him.
But you didn't.
You never stopped being there for him.
After Adam calmed down a few minutes later, you let him go and saw him wipe at his face with his sleeve. While still embarrassed to be seen like this, he did feel a lot better. "Y-You...still got it." He chuckled. "You ever think about becoming a singer? Like in a band or something?"
"In my dreams, yeah. But I told ya I'm a big Radiohead fan." You smirked.
"Alright, alright..I guess you're not too "old" to like it." He rolled his eyes, but eventually leaned back onto your shoulder, relaxing. "Thanks again, [y/n]. I-I..really needed that."
"Anytime." You gently hugged him to you. "I'm here whenever you need me, son. I promise we'll go back to Mandela when it's safer."
"Together?"
"Together."
--September 2008--
You couldn't believe it.
You couldn't.
Fucking.
Believe it.
Adam went behind your back and did exactly what you told him not to do.
He left for to Mandela County in the middle of the night, taking a stolen car. Although he did leave you a note saying he was going on a "BPS mission" with Jonah and promised to be back in several days, you were still quite infuriated.
Especially since you've been meaning to talk to him about this little "group" of his.
All this time, you thought it was just some afterschool club he attended that helped him make friends and even find a girlfriend. He told you all they did was chat about ghosts and research paranormal stuff and nothing more.
But he's been using it as a cover-up to hunt down the Alternates who ruined so many lives, breaking several laws while doing so.
You only learned about all this through Evelin, who called your cell phone just a few minutes ago. The poor girl was in tears, explaining that she and Adam had a huge fight, and apparently he told her some....very hurtful things.
Things you'd never believe would come out of your son's mouth.
You didn't raise him this way at all.
You raised him to be a better person, not a rebel who thinks he can talk to girls with such disrespect and run away from home.
Why would he do this all of the sudden?
Did he just get too impatient?
Did he not trust you anymore?
What ever happened to the promise that you'll go to Mandela together?
Regardless, you apologized to Evelin for Adam's behavior before hanging up. Then you called his number, and he surprisingly answered within the first ring.
Usually it took three.
"Hey, [y/n]. What's up?"
""What's up?"" You mimicked, already growing annoyed. ""What's up" is that your girlfriend called me and said you insulted her. All because she didn't like these little "ghost hunts" you've been doing??"
"Oh fuck, did she really tell you about all our problems?" He groaned. "Look, I'm not the bad guy here. I swear. We had a petty argument and she freaked out on ME, and then I got a little defensive. That's all."
"...a "little"? You made her cry, Adam. I had to help her calm down before she could even talk to me."
"....well it's not my fault if she's too damn sensitive."
You couldn't believe how heartless he sounded, but you didn't wanna stay on this topic forever.
So you sighed, sitting down on the sofa as you wondered how you can convince him to stop these ridiculous "hunts". "Listen, son. I just think this is consuming your life too much-"
"But this IS my life, [y/n]! Jonah and I have been making some serious bank from this! Believe it or not, paranormal investigating IS a real job-"
"But it's not a safe one." You interrupted. "I know how badly you want closure on your mother, but those things won't give you any answers. They're only going to kill you if-"
"I stared at one dead in the face and it didn't attack me."
You froze, feeling your heart drop into your stomach. "...what?"
"Yeah! I found out I'm sorta "immune" to M.A.D or whatever, and I have footage of it!" He bragged. "It didn't hurt me at all. We had a pretty funny staring contest. I can send you proof of it so you don't have to worry about me."
"....I don't want "proof", Adam. I want you to come home."
"....not until I find out the truth for myself." Suddenly his tone turned spiteful. "Unless you know something that I don't."
"What do you mean?"
"I'm not a dumb kid anymore, [y/n]. If there's something YOU knew about that night that you didn't wanna tell me before...now's the time."
For a few long moments, you were silent as you thought over his words, although his snarky response made your blood boil even more.
At this point you were fed up you were with him sneaking behind your back like this and breaking his promise. You only sheltered the truth of that night from him for this long because you knew how deeply it would hurt him.
But now he was practically goading you into laying it all out.
Maybe that's what you should do. Just to finally put this to rest and make him give up on these stupid "investigations". He was searching for someone who wasn't even alive anymore.
He may hate you, but if this is what he wanted...it's what he'll get.
"I'm sorry, Adam. But-"
All of the sudden, a loud sound akin to static noise crackled right into your eardrum, causing you to flinch and hold the phone far away from you.
Only then did you notice an unknown caller ID had popped up, the ringtone playing normally. You declined it and tried calling Adam back, but the same mysterious number showed up again before you could even dial anything.
You had no choice but to answer the stranger.
"Hello? Yes?"
"This is no longer your place to spill secrets, I'm afraid." A male's voice, staticky and coarse, droned in your ear. "Only I will reveal everything to our prophet soon enough."
"....your prophet? Who the hell is this?" Your eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "I think you got the wrong number. I don't know any "prophet". Goodbye."
Hanging up, you hoped to put an end to that discussion and reach out to Adam once more-
"Of course you do, [y/n]. He's the son you've taken under your wing."
Every muscle in your body tensed.
The same voice was now inside your own home.
Your eyes searched the living room until you noticed the TV flickering to life, the screen displaying a hooded man with a face that looked as if it were melting.
"How do you know about him?" You scowled. "Don't tell me...you're the creep who kidnapped all those kids back in-"
"You played right into our hands. You've passed our test. I must say you've raised him well..keeping him in the dark about his truth." The Intruder taunted. "But it's time you open your eyes and recognize the favor you've done for us."
"...what favor? What does any of this have to do with Adam?!"
"From the moment you saw that boy's poor mother...he ceased to exist, too. I had taken him only for a moment, and gave you back something you promised to protect. But you've been living a lie, [y/n]. Your "son" was never actually him."
"You mean to tell me he's......?" Your heart dropped into your stomach, realizing what he was implying. But you clenched your fists. "N-No. You're lying."
"You had already failed them before you even realized it." The TV glitched to show the shadow of a certain woman with her neck broken, before displaying an image of the Murray house, before it reverted back to the Intruder's face. "You could've joined them, but we wanted to see how he'd grow under your watchful eye. Now thanks to you, we know we can blend into mankind and watch it rot from the inside out. And soon we'll awaken him, too, and rejoice."
"I don't believe you." You tried keeping your voice steady and calm, knowing he was attempting to inflict M.A.D on you. "If you think he's going to be anything like you freaks...you're dead wrong."
"Oh, but he will. He must. It's his fate."
"If he's one of you, then why would he care for the real Adam's mother like she was his?! And on that note...was hanging her just your little "distraction" so you could-?!"
"You accuse me as if I pulled the rope." He scoffed. "But I didn't. She just lost all hope and faith in finding him. That poor mother, too distraught at the sight of her missing infant---distraught at the sight of her missing infant, missing infant, missing infantmissinginfantMISSINGMISSINGMISSINGMISSINGMISSING...."
His voice suddenly began repeating on a loop, corrupted messages and symbols covering the screen. Through it all, you were still able to make out his haunting gaze and widening grin.
The only way he disappeared was when you grabbed a nearby chair and smashed the glass with it, shattering the screen to pieces. Electric sparks and smoke sputtered out of the TV, but besides that...it was finally silent again.
You huffed and took several steps back.
Yet you had little time to fully process everything he told you as your phone rang again. You hesitantly checked it, only to become relieved at seeing's Adam's number and quickly answered it.
"A-Adam! Are you okay?"
"Yeah, um..are you? What happened? You just hung up on me.." He sounded rather concerned.
"I didn't mean to. S-Something must've disconnected our call.." You scrambled to grab your keys, convinced he was in danger.
'Damnit, I swore I was gonna stay away from Mandela, but if he's still there....and HE knows about him-.'
However before you could get your shoes, you stopped and felt a sudden chill run up your spine.
One that left you with the feeling that you weren't alone anymore.
Your gaze slowly went to the front door, where a tall humanoid figure lurked in the nearest corner. It was overtaken by a huge shadow, although the whites of its elongated eyes were still visible, staring back at you.
Adam's concerned "hellos" on the other end fell on deaf ears as you watched the creature limp out from the darkness, revealing itself to be the most horrifying attempt at human mimicry possible.
The worst part?
It looked just like you.
"I'm here whenever you need me, son." It echoed your voice, stalking towards you and forcing you away from the front door, back into the kitchen area. "Something must've disconnected our call-l-l!"
"Who the hell was that? What's going on?!"
Finally hearing your son again, you swallowed back tears as you shakily reached for a large knife, keeping the phone in a tight grip.
This was it for you.
You've just been a pawn in their plans all along.
The Intruder had intentions to kill you with M.A.D by revealing you've basically raised an Alternate for them, and if that despair alone didn't end your life.....then this beast that somehow got inside your home will surely finish the job.
But screw that. Screw all of them.
You'll fight till your last breath if you must.
Your only regret is leaving Adam all alone when he's already lost so much in his life...but you didn't want him to think you resented him.
"I-I have to go. I'm sorry if I sounded harsh back there. I just want you to make the right choices. But if this BPS stuff makes you happy, then..keep doing what you're doing. Just be careful, okay?"
"Uh, sure. But why are you talking like that, [y/n]??" His voice was growing more worrisome. "Look, I'm sorry. I-I swear I'll come back home soon-"
"Don't worry about me...I'll be okay." You smiled shakily, not taking your eyes off the creature closing in. "Just take care of yourself out there. This world's cruel, but I know you'll kick it in the ass."
"Just wait a damn second! Don't g-!"
"Goodbye, my son. I love you."
You ended the call, dropping the phone to the ground and holding the knife with both hands, finally ready to accept your fate.
The Alternate howled with laughter, before it lunged at you with its claws and jaws wide open.
"GOODBYE-E-E!!!!"
"GET THE FUCK AWAY FROM ME!!!!"

--January 16th, 2009--
Adam staggered through the front door to his home, famished, dehydrated, exhausted....
And burdened with knowledge that made him want to die.
Only a few months ago, you disappeared after that concerning phone conversation you two exchanged. He hasn't heard your voice since, and when he returned to Werksha..you were nowhere to be found.
There was no sign of a break-in, or anything of that sort..but Adam was convinced you were taken just like his mom was--obviously by one of the Alternates.
So he went back to Mandela to continue his investigations alongside Jonah, growing desperate for answers. There had to be at least one who knew what happened to you and where you are.
His obsession with these hunts only worsened, turning him into a crueler person around those who questioned his reasons for "chasing" after Alternates. Evelin did break off the relationship for good, seeing as he was too far gone to even reason with.
He knows you would've been disappointed in him...but surely you'd understand why he'd do this. You understood him better than anyone.
You said it yourself. As long as he was careful, he can do whatever he wanted!
Yet nothing ever turned up.
Until the day he and Jonah agreed to help put a cat's spirit to rest, the "owner" offering them $500 a night if they stayed for three in total...
That investigation ended in a huge argument in which Jonah brought up your name and his mother, setting him off and indirectly causing his best friend's death.
And then he was all alone again, but acted like none of it bothered him and tried to quell BPS' online following with a memorial video.
Days later, the Intruder contacted him on his laptop and unveiled the truth about his existence--the same truth he told you before you died.
"Your skin is not your own."
"You're not the real you."
Those words were drilled into Adam's mind, and he could feel his own body going through an agonizing metamorphosis as he forced himself to drive back to Werksha one last time.
He barely was able to drag himself out of the van and through the front door.
But that's when he was greeted by a grisly sight:
Your rotting corpse slumped against the wall, a bloody knife in your palm and a deep slash wound across your throat, your clothes caked in dried blood.
You were never missing.
You died.
And whatever monster brought you back here decided to present you as some twisted "gift" for him.
Adam collapsed and screamed so loudly that it shattered the lights he turned on, deciding right there that he didn't wanna live this way anymore. He couldn't. He didn't wanna become one of them.
He wanted to join you while he still had his humanity left.
Yet despite all his attempts to end his misery, including using the same knife you used to stab himself and consuming enough bleach cleaner he found under the sink to make him vomit his guts out......nothing was working.
His body didn't fail him like he expected.
He still felt his bones breaking in all the wrong ways, and now his insides fucking burned like an inferno.
Eventually, Adam stopped and instead covered your body with his BPS hoodie, sobbing about how sorry he was for not being here for you, before he managed to crawl his way into his room--his one place of comfort.
Having no strength to climb onto the mattress, he just slumped next to his bed, leaning against the nightstand for support. He made the mistake of looking into the cracked mirror beside him...and wailed as he saw the same monster that robbed you of life staring straight back at him:
A gaunt, skinny husk of a boy with pupils of light and a horrifying facial expression that's impossible for humans to mimic.
God, he wishes he spent more time with you...had he known all of this was going to happen..
Did you know he was an Alternate? Is that why you were afraid of him coming back to Mandela?
What would you do if you found him like this?
Would you still hold him?
Would you still sing to him?
Or....
'That's it...I can sing...' He realized, slowly quieting down as he recalled all the times you sang to him whenever he was saddened in the past.
If you were able to calm him down easily, then surely he can calm himself down in a similar way in this situation. It's just his own voice this time around; it couldn't be that much different...right?
It was worth a try.
"...s-such...a...pretty house...and...and such a pretty gardennn...."
He ignored the creaking of the front door being opened, and the footsteps that echoed through the house, slowly approaching his room.
"No..alarms-s-s....and no....a-and no....!"
Suddenly Adam began hyperventilating, eyes filling with tears as he struggled to finish the line, despising the way it sounded.
It wasn't the same.
It wasn't your voice.
It was a voice that wasn't even his own. Just a broken and flawed attempt to mimic the real Adam's--the one who never even got a shot at life before it was stolen away from him.
If this didn't help him..then nothing could..
He wanted you back.
He needed your voice to sing and comfort him, just as you've done all those years ago.
He needed you.
But you're never coming back again.
Up to this point, a certain ex-lieutenant officer with a vendetta against the Alternates entered the bedroom, shining the light around until he found this kid sitting all alone and....
Singing a Radiohead song?
He realized his ears weren't deceiving him, but just as he attempted to confirm his identity-
Adam's jaw unhinged without warning, stretching to impossible proportions as he looked directly into his eyes, screaming and crying out with all the grief left in him:
"GET ME OUT OF HERE!!!"

Gojo x Reader wip that I’ll probably never finish
CW// technically canon compliant, actually doesn’t really relate to canon much at all, gojo x reader pairing (as stated above), angst, past hurt/attempted comfort, child OC, parent reader, female reader
SYNOPSIS+CONTEXT// Basically, you and Gojo dated while you both attended Tokyo Jujutsu Tech, had been intimate (you know, but only after you were both 18, ya nasties), and one bad event or another happened and Gojo decided that you would be safer if you weren’t around him anymore. The night he told you as much, you had just been about to tell him you were pregnant (and panicking bc how did that happen, you were both (relatively) careful). With your heart broken, you decide to transfer elsewhere and basically drop off the face of the planet (Yaga being extremely helpful and supportive). Then, ten years later you move back to Tokyo to slowly get back into the swing of work while parenting your son. Gojo finds out that you’re back (and with a surprise) and wants to try to reconnect.
Author’s Note// I hope this is ok, it was a random shower thought I had that I managed to write down at least some of, so... Yeah. Enjoy! <3
“Hey,” Satoru took a breath, “‘s been a while…”
“What…?” You stare in wide eyed horror at the unexpected sight of the man standing at your doorstep.
He gives a hesitant smile. “How have you been—“
“How did you find me.” You’re question sounding more like a demand, horror having quickly shifted to anger.
Satoru’s face morphs into surprise. “Heard from Yaga that you were back. Wha—“
You cut him off again, “What do you want?” Your face settles in a neutral almost cold expression, voice softer than before, but still defensive.
It had been ten years since you last saw the sorcerer, let alone spoke to him. That was a day that had changed your life forever.
“I wanted to check in with… an old friend.” He shifts his weight to one foot and puts his hands into his pockets.
You narrow your eyes and give him a once over. He’d grown taller and broader since the last time you’d seen him.
“I’m fine. Why?”
He knew he’d be met with this, and yet he still wanted to try. Huffing out a small sigh, he says “Can I just— Can we talk?” He shifts his head to gesture to the door you’re currently standing in.
You open your mouth to deny him but he interrupts you.
“Please?”
Now, Gojo Satoru was never one to beg. You know this, he knows this. For him, it had felt like an eternity ago since he’d seen you, seen your face. While he had wanted to see you sooner, he’d thought it’d be better for you if had kept his distance.
“…Fine.”
After a long pause, you swing the door open wider and step out of the way, and Satoru feels he can finally breathe again.
“Thanks.”
He looks around the entryway to your home as he slips off his shoes and you step into your kitchen.
“Tea?” You offer.
“Sure.” He nods as you gesture for him to wait on the couch in the living room.
———————————————————————————————————
“You have a kid?”
“…Yeah.” You speak quietly, softly.
“Huh, so where’s um,” he clears his throat, “where’s your spouse? I don’t see one in your pictures—“
“Don’t have one.”
“Ah.”
An awkward pause.
Looking at the pictures more closely Satoru notices something and he breaks into a nervous sweat.
“How… how old’s your kid?”
Your voice is almost a whisper, “N-nine, almost ten.”
His eyes widen behind his sunglasses. He feels like he can’t breathe. Almost ten? How could— How did—
His voice lowers to match yours. “…Is he mine?”
“No.” There’s a bite in your tone that shook him.
“But—“
“He’s mine.” There’s a hardness to your expression, like a mother wolf guarding her pup.
Now that confused him, “Then how’d you— Was there someone else?”
“…No.”
“So he is mine…” Satoru’s face saddens.
“No.”
He’s growing irritated now. “No? What do you mean no? You said he’s—“
“I’m sorry, do you pay child support?”
That makes him freeze.
“No? Didn’t think so, therefore he’s mine and not yours.” Your words are like a knife to the chest.
“If I’d known— Why didn’t you tell me?”
“I tried. You said we couldn’t see each other, even after you told me that you loved me.” Your voice breaks as tears collect in the corners of your eyes. “You said you’d lied, after I’d given my everything to you.”
His eyes widen as he chokes on his next words. “I didn’t— I didn’t mean it, I thought you’d be safer if— if you weren’t with me.”
He’d never meant for this to happen. He never thought it could, you’d both been young and reckless, sure, but he hadn’t—
“I did love you, do love you,” your eyes widen at those words, “I just wanted to protect you.”
“By pushing me away? You should have asked me! That wasn’t something that you could have just decided for yourself!”
“Then let me fix it! Let me fix this! Let me be here for you, for our son, now—“
“Oh, no. Nonono, you don’t get to walk back into my life like nothing happened. You don’t get  to have any claim on MY son—“
“I’m sorry, okay? I know it’ll take time to remedy all my past mistakes, but please, at least let me try—“
“You left! You left me!” You’re sobbing now. “You left us! You ripped out my heart and left, and now you want to just come back and—“
A soft voice cuts you off.
“Mama?”
You freeze, then hurriedly try to wipe away your tears as you turn to your little boy, crouching down and slightly blocking Satoru’s view of him. “Yes, baby? Do you need something?”
“I heard yelling… Mama, are you ok? You’re crying…” Your son gazes at you with worried eyes and puts his hands on your cheeks to help wipe your tears.
You can’t help but chuckle “Yes, baby, I’m alright. I was just talking and got a little emotional.”
Your son now leans to look around you at who appears to be the offending party then looks back at you. “Who’s he? Is he why you were crying?”
Your son, normally shy, steps around you to face this stranger with a determined look. “Who are you? Don’t make my mama cry!“
Now that Satoru can see him, he takes note of the boy’s features, his hair color is the same as your’s, eyes heterochromatic, one crystalline blue and the other the same as yours. While the expression he wore now was the same as one of your own, once upon a time, his facial features looked almost identical to Satoru at his age. This was undoubtedly his kid, even down to his protectiveness of you.
“I’m—“
You cut in, “This is Gojo Satoru, an old friend.”
He winces at the use of his own words repeated back to him.
You look back at him now, slightly more collected. “Satoru, this is my son, Miyako.”
Miyako, meaning night child.
Satoru waves at the boy, while Miyako just squints his eyes back, at first in skepticism, then in scrutiny.
Then, your son whips is head to face you, startling both you and your guest, with eyes wide and says, “Wait! The Gojo Satoru?”
You hum in question at the boy.
Slightly stunned, He pulls a sly smile. “That’s right, the strongest sorcerer—“
“The biggest butthead??”
Both adults freeze at the child words.
Then, you burst into laughter.
“That’s right, love!”
Satoru’s jaw is on the floor. He can’t believe what he’s hearing. This is how his son knows of him? Then he sees the proud twinkle in the child’s eyes at getting you to laugh and he understands.
He sighs and chuckles, this is going to be interesting.

How I Met Her Mother | Tighnari x Reader
Romantic: Tighnari x Collei's Parent! Reader
(Notes: none) (gender neutral reader) (reader is Collei's adoptive parent)
Description:
When Paimon and the traveler discover Tighnari's ties with Collei's adoptive parent, he begins to reminisce about their past together.
Tighnari watched from outside his hut as you walked with Collei on the path below, smiling and chatting comfortably in the afternoon light. He took note of how your eyes seemed to sparkle, and how genuinely relaxed you seemed.
The sight, which was becoming more and more rare by the day, made his lips curve up into a soft smile. For as long as he'd known you, he'd found that seeing you happy happened to be his favorite thing, and now was no exception to that.
He recalled the letters you'd sent to him in Gandharva Ville just a few months prior, wincing at how anxious and worried you had seemed back them. Of course, there were plenty of reasons to feel that way in Sumeru these days, but something about seeing you that way had always gotten to him in ways that other people's fears never had. He didn't want you to have to worry, even if the feeling was very much warranted.
That was why he had ultimately suggested you move to Gandharva Ville, hoping it would at least ease your worries a little. Luckily, it seemed to be helping so far. If nothing else, it meant you could be closer to Collei all the time, which made you feel a lot better.
"Tighnari, hello?" A high pitched voice startled him out of his wandering thoughts, and he turned to see Paimon floating out of his hut with the traveler following behind her.
"What is it, Paimon?" He sighed, crossing his arms and glancing back towards where you and Collei had stopped walking to take a seat on a couple of rocks next to the river below.
"Paimon was just going to tell you we're ready to head out, but you seem distracted." The pixie replied, floating closer and following his gaze to where you and the green haired girl were sitting. "Who is that?" She pointed at you, and Tighnari quickly looked away, both to hide the hint of pink in his face and to prevent himself from continuing to stare. Once he felt he'd recovered, he turned back to the pair calmly and pushed himself to stand up from the wall he'd been leaning against.
"Oh, they're Collei's adoptive parent," he explained, "They recently moved to Gandharva Ville to be closer to her and help with her Eleazar."
"Her adoptive parent?" Paimon repeated, "But they don't look any older than you!" He chuckled at this, knowing you got that a lot. You always had the best responses when people commented on how young you looked for someone who was the parent of a teenager. Usually it was something like 'yeah, I moisturize' or 'then it seems my sacrifices for eternal youth have been working.' Unfortunately, Tighnari wasn't quite as creative as you.
"They aren't," He replied simply, "But when Cyno brought her back from Mondstat after she was freed from Dottore, Y/n was the one that stepped up to help her, despite being fairly young themselves. They've been caring for her ever since."
"They seem very kind," Aether smiled, "I hope we get to meet them soon."
"I'm sure you will," Tighnari replied simply, "But we should get going now. Those withering zones aren't going to destroy themselves." With that, he headed down the wooden bridge and began leading the way towards their target area, happy to have been able to change the subject.
Although he didn't mind talking about you and especially the kind things you'd done for Collei and everyone else in Gandharva Ville, it was also a blatant reminder that he still had yet to tell you the truth about his feelings, something he preferred to avoid thinking about.
Unfortunately, it seemed Paimon's curiosity about the topic of you still had yet to be satiated as the three of them made their way to the first withering zone.
"You seem to know Collei's parent pretty well Tighnari!" She chirped, completely ignorant to his embarrassment when it came to talking about you, "How did you two meet, anyway?"
"How did we meet?" He repeated, a warm feeling enveloping him as the old memories surfaced. "It's a long story, but I suppose I could tell it. We have time now, after all." With that, he took in a breath before starting at the beginning.
..........
You and Tighnari had both been students of the Amurta Darshan of the Akademiya. You had one or two classes together, but ended up interacting very little since his studies focused more on plants and nature while yours revolved around medicine.
But that all changed one day when he had been injured while doing some field research for a project. He was brought into the infirmary and you, who had been participating in a work-study under the nurse there, were the one to treat him.
Though Tighnari couldn't remember the details of his visit very well anymore, he still vividly recalled how kind you had been to him. Even though he had very obviously been injured due to his own stubbornness and refusal to wait to finish the assignment, you had been very patient while helping him heal. When he looked at you, there had been no judgement in your eyes, only a strong desire to help.
"I'm Y/n." You'd introduced yourself upon entering the room, "I don't care how you ended dup here; what matters is that you get better now. I'm still an apprentice, but I'll do my best to help you."
Since the Akademiya's environment tended to be so hostile, that was the kindest anyone had been to him since his arrival, and it really stuck out to him.
Even after he was able to leave the infirmary, the two of you had decided to keep in touch. Since you were part of the same Darshan, it wasn't difficult, either. You often studied together, ran into one another in the halls, or attended the same school events. The more time you two spent together, the more you found yourselves getting along, and the more time he wanted to spend with you.
He could vividly remember graduating with you and Cyno, and how bittersweet that day had been.
Yes, it was everything you'd worked for over the last years spent at the Akademiya. But it also meant you'd all be going your separate ways, and that he might not get to see you again for a while.
Even though you promised to keep in touch, he knew your visits would be infrequent now that you were moving to the desert to practice medicine there.
And for a while, he was right.
..........
When Cyno showed up in Gandharva Ville with Collei, it had been during one of the rare occasions where you were visiting.
At first, Tighnari had been a little irritated at the interruption. That was, until you both saw the little girl that the matra had brought with him. He'd never seen a child look so scarred and fearful before, and it must have touched your heart as much as it did his, because then you were pulling Cyno aside and demanding to know what had happened.
He hadn't planned on bringing you into the situation originally, taking Collei to Gandharva Ville to ask Tighnari if he'd be willing to look after her instead. But as soon as you heard everything the girl had gone through, you insisted on being the one to look after her.
Tighnari had always admired how caring you were, and your insistence on being the one to help Collei had only further proved to him how wonderful of a person you were.
You ended up extending your stay in Gandharva Ville after that, which he was so far from being opposed to that it was almost laughable.
As he'd expected, you and Collei bonded a great deal during that time, and within just a few weeks, she seemed to be doing a lot better. She went up and tugged on Cyno's cloak one day, catching his attention when he'd been reading a book.
"What is it, Collei?" He asked softly, bending down to the girl's level.
"C-can I stay with Y/n?" She asked, pointing to where you stood in the distance, bandaging up a wounded forest ranger. Cyno's face softened.
"Of course, I'm sure they wouldn't mind if you help them out for the day."
"No," Collei shook her head, trying to find the words to explain her feelings, "I want to stay with them all the time." Now the white haired man understood what she was implying, and he raised an eyebrow.
"You mean you want Y/n to adopt you?" He asked, to which she nodded eagerly. He smiled, standing back up and motioning for her to follow him. "I'm sure they'd be happy to take you in. Come on, let's go ask them."
And the rest was history. You, of course, gladly adopted Collei. For a while, you lived in Gandharva Ville with her because it seemed to be the place that made her the happiest. You even fought with your employer to let you commute to work in Sumeru City if it meant you could raise her there, and they eventually gave in.
Those were the years Tighnari remembered being the happiest; when you were nearby and happy yourself.
Somewhere down the line, he ended up becoming Collei's mentor. She had a love for the forest and the people around her, as well as a thirst for knowledge that he was happy to nurture.
As she got older, you started to feel like you might be stifling her, and eventually moved to Sumeru City in an attempt to both make your own life easier and give her the space she needed to continue growing. You constantly wrote to and visited both her and Tighnari though, and were always checking in as well.
..........
It was only when Collei's Eleazar got worse that you finally moved back to Gandharva Ville to support her, and times had been tough ever since.
Tighnari could tell the stress was taking a huge toll on you, even if you tried not to let her see that. Plus, going back and forth to Sumeru City for work every day to do an already taxing job wasn't easy.
As much as he had wanted to confess all his feelings to you the second you moved back to Gandharva Ville, it wasn't the right time. So instead, he'd kept it inside. He didn't want to stress you out any further; he couldn't do that to you. If it meant saving you even just a little bit of worry, he was willing to keep his feelings inside for as long as it might take.
Now, he returned to his hut in Gandharva Ville, glancing over to Collei's to see you exiting with a smile on your face, presumably having just said goodnight to her. As soon as you turned away though, it fell into a frown as you started the walk back to your own hut.
You spotted Tighnari on the way though, smiling again as you waved at him. He waved back, a melancholy feeling taking over him. Finally, he turned to go back into his own hut.
'I wish I could take all your worries away.'

A fun day
Thor: *he gets into his car and starts driving* that was a fun day, wasn't it, Haven?
Silence
Thor: Haven? *he turns to look at the backseat, no baby in sight, his heart drops* oh no. *he drives back to the park, no Haven* shit
*30 minutes later*
Thor: *he enters the cottage* brother I- *he flinches at the stab* oh yes, deserved that *he groans at the next stab* that too *he drops to his knees from the punch in the gut* and that
Loki: *holding Haven, seething* you left my daughter?!
Thor: I thought she was behind me!!
Y/N: you're digging a bigger hole, Thor!
Loki: *he kisses Haven's head and glares at Thor* it's okay, Haven, no more play dates with Uncle Thor until you're much older
Y/N: and even then, supervised.
Thor: but-
Loki: I could kill you right now for leaving my darling princess. I never felt so terrified as when she called out to me screaming. I heard her from New York, Thor, New York!
Thor: apologies won't lessen your anger?
Y/N and Loki: NO!

Idk what this is, I'm half asleep and needed to write it 🤷

Platonic DCFDTL x Sweet!Step Parent!Reader
*taps mic* good morning KND fandom (is speaking into an empty room)
Anyways uhuh KND interest has eclipsed everything and I'm going to explode if I dont write about it. Obviously anything I write for the kids is going to be platonic, and idk how many of the villains I'll write for LMAO
Probably going to write short little posts where the readers trying to give them normal kid experiences but I make no promises
Tumblr media
I mentioned in a previous post with father that the children only tolerate you in the beginning because you're important to their dad, but I do enjoy the idea that over time they almost grow attached in their own way
No because these kids need a normal parental figure; and while they may not be receptive in the beginning you should offer to do stuff with them, bonding activities and stuff
Kind of just ignore you for the most part aside from when you're addressing them because they were raised to be polite and respect authority
If they werent so.. you know.. I'd think they'd cringe a little if you referred to them as "gang" or "kids", likely due to the terms sounding.. not.. delightful..
NOOOOOO because imagine they finally approach you for something; whether it be conversation or for help
They would not understand why you seem so happy

The Jedi Are Dead (Star Wars Rebels x Male!Reader)
Main Masterlist
I'm fascinated by the idea of a jedi who's lost their path after order 66. Not necessarily one who turns to the dark side but one who leaves behind all parts of the jedi code and their past life as a keeper of the peace. They've become attached and refuse to lose everything like hey once did.
Also Bolt isn't an OC, he's an actual clone trooper I found from a clone wars comic🙃(Ben is because I'm lazy and it literally means son)
Word count: 1.9k
Tumblr media
You lost so much when the republic fell.
The clone wars took so much from you, so many of your friends and even your master but order 66 took everything else away. You lost everything, you home, your family, the order and your purpose. You were forced into hiding. You had to create a whole new life after the fall of the republic. You had to remake everything, from a house to a living but you found someone to do it with.
You had a husband, a son, even a pet tooka, you'd moved on from your past life. Both you and your husband.
At least you thought so, after all you had a young son to protect now but with the rise of the rebellion and the broadcast a rebel named Ezra Bridger transmitted all across the galaxy you found yourself back in the fight (although in very small ways). That is until an unknown ship landed outside your farm.
"Papa! Buir!(father) Someone's here! There's a ship outside!" Your son, Ben yelled as he ran into the house. You looked at your husband worriedly before you both grabbed a weapon. He took a shovel and you took one of two blasters you had hidden in the house.
You quietly opened the door, aiming the blaster towards the ship as your husband hid Ben behind him. "Stay behind us Ben" He said as you got ready to shoot.
The ship's ramp lowered and you watched carefully to see who walked off.
They didn't look emperial to you but you couldn't take risks.
A green twi'lek walked out of the ship with her hands in the air.
"We come in peace" She said as she was followed by three Humans and a Lasat.
"Who are you?" You questioned them, never moving your blaster.
"Fulcrum sent us" She said and you looked at her confused then at your husband. It was his change in expression that worried you.
"Bolt, do you know these people?" You asked your husband and he nodded.
"They're the delivery guys I told you about" He said, lowering his shovel and you sighed, finally putting down your blaster.
"When you said delivery guys I expected someone with a speeder not an armed freighter" You complained as you relaxed a bit. Bolt for his part seemed sheepish at the missing information.
"Well I didn't exactly know what was coming" He said and you shook your head, you weren't mad at your husband but you were slightly disappointed.
The crew of the freighter looked at each other confused.
"So are we in the right place or not?" The youngest human asked and you felt something at the edge of your senses, something about him and someone else in the group.
"You're in the right place. My name is Bolt" Your husband said, he placed a comforting hand on your shoulder and on Ben's head. The little six year old was poking his head out from behind you curiously.
"This is my husband Y/N and our son Ben" He introduced and you nodded in greeting.
"Sorry about the blaster" He said and the Twi'lek in charge nodded.
"It's fine, you can never be too careful. I'm Hera, these are Kanan, Ezra, Sabine and Zeb" She said, introducing the crew behind her.
"You're a clone" The Lasat said and you stood protectively in front of your husband. "You got a problem with that?" You asked, you wouldn't allow anyone to disrespect your husband. You'd met after the war, both of you were fugitive's of the empire and he helped you understand and come to terms with what happened all that time ago. You couldn't imagine not having him with you.
"No, no, I just..." He trailed off.
"Come inside" Bolt said, he was always better with strangers than you.
You took Ben and let Bolt welcome your unexpected guests, going to prepare a pot of tea.
"Papa, who are the aruetiise?" (outsiders) Ben asked and you smiled at him.
"Their friends of your buir" You told him softly. Bolt has been mixing Mando'a into his speech for as long as you knew him so it was natural for your son to do the same. You even learned it yourself after spending so much time with him.
"But you almost shot them" He said and you laughed, he was perceptive that's for sure. It's gotten him in trouble plenty of times before.
"I've never met them before, you know we can't be too careful. Now how about you go outside and pick some herbs for the tea okay?" You asked him and he nodded, running outside to the herb garden.
---
The Ghost crew sat around the small living room, there were a few pillows but most of the space was taken up by toys.
"Sorry about the mess, it's hard to get kids to clean up after themselves" Bolt said and Hera lightly glared at Ezra.
"Don't worry about it, I know how you feel" She said and Ezra looked offended for a moment before he moved on.
"So you three live out here alone?" He asked and Bolt nodded, his greying hair was still in the regulation cut only his hairline had receded quite a bit.
"It's safe, far from the empire or any other dangers" He answered.
Kanan felt uneasy, his time with rex had helped him get over his dislike of clones somewhat but it was still there and something was off about this house.
"We're just here to pick up the data chips, no need to intrude on your home" He said but Bolt dismissed him.
"Nonsense, you came all the way here and we're happy to host you for dinner" He said though Kanan wasn't sure if you would agree.
Something was off about you and he didn't like it.
"You speak Mando'a" Sabine said, changing the subject and Bolt smiled.
"Yes, I am technically a mandalorian of clan Fett, and I see you are as well" He said and Sabine nodded.
"Of clan Wren" She said.
"An ijaat at urcir gar sabine be clan wren" (An honor to meet you Sabine of clan Wren) Bolt said, grasping Sabine's arm in his.
Ezra looked over at Kanan in confusion.
"It's a mandalorian thing I think" Kanan told his padawan.
By that time you'd walked in with a tray of tea. Kanan recognized the smell and looked at you suspiciously.
"I hope you like tea, it's my own special recipe" You explained as you set the tray on the ground between everyone and sat beside your husband.
"Where's ben?" He asked you and you pointed down the hall.
"I sent him to his room, there's no reason for him to be here for this" You said and took a cup of tea.
"You seem pretty protective of him" Kanan pointed out and you nodded.
"He's my son. I would do anything to keep him safe" You told him as he too took a cup of tea.
"Ugh, Kanan this is just like the stuff you used to make" Zeb said and Sabine scolded him for his lack of manners.
"You're a fan of tea Kanan?" You asked surprised. It took you longer than you'd have liked to connect the dots.
"I used to have it a lot as a kid" He said and you nodded.
"As did I" You said and Ezra looked between you and his master. He picked up something was off but he wasn't sure what.
"Bolt told us a bit about himself, what about you Y/N?" Ezra asked, he wanted to know why you and Kanan seemed to be at odds.
"Are you also Mandalorian?" He asked and you shook your head.
"I'm from Arkanis originally" You said before shifting the conversation.
"But what about you? You're quite the interesting crew, a Twi'lek, a Mandalorian, a Lasat and two jedi" You said and you immediately saw Kanan and Ezra shift defensively. The rest of the Ghost crew looked at you in shock.
"Well it takes one to know one" Kanan said, glaring at you.
"Wait, you're a jedi too?!" Ezra asked and you looked down into your tea.
"Not anymore. The jedi are dead" You said and glared back at Kanan.
"You should take what you need and go, it's dangerous for so many force sensitives to be together. They'll sense us" You warned. Bolt took your hand.
"We'll be fine cyar'ika, don't you worry" He said and kissed your palm.
"I'm going to check on Ben" You said as you walked down the hall and Hera looked at Bolt worryingly.
"Who's he worried will sense them?" She asked and Bolt sighed.
"Since the Jedi purge Y/N's been terrified of being found by the empire and their inquisitors. It's been worse since we took Ben in" He explained and Zeb looked at him quizzically.
"He's not yours?" He asked and Bolt shook his head.
"Not biologically" Bolt explained and Kanan understood immediately.
"He's force sensitive isn't he?" He asked and Bolt nodded but immediately turned around when he heard little footsteps running towards him.
"Buir!" Ben yelled as he ran and held onto his father.
"There's someone scary outside- and Papa said to run and I don't- I don't know what to do" Ben cried as Bolt picked him up in his arms.
Kanan heard the familiar sound of a lightsaber igniting and immediately knew what was going on.
"Inquisitors" He said looked at Ezra. The two ran in the direction Ben just came from.
"Is Papa going to be okay?" Ben asked and Bolt nodded firmly.
"He'll be fine ad'ika, your papa's stronger than you know" Bolt said trying to assure his son.
"Sabine, Zeb, get Bolt and Ben onto the Ghost and start the engines, I'm going to find the data chip" Hera said as she ran into the house.
"Come on" Sabine said as she led Bolt and Zeb outside to the Ghost.
---
You dodged lightsaber blades as well as you could, keeping the inquisitor's attention for as long as you could.
"And here I thought we'd just be collecting today, lord Vader will be glad to know we killed another pathetic jedi" She said as you fought her off as best you could. You didn't have time to get your saber from it's hiding spot and you were at a severe disadvantage.
"You will never get your filthy hands on him you sith scum. Not so long as I still live!" You yelled as you managed to disarm her. Her training was lacking, she was a beginner padawan at best.
"Then I guess you simply have to die" The inquisitor said, she summoned her saber again and was about to cut right through you when you kicked her back. Catching her saber.
"Your master has trained you poorly." You told her and you sensed Ezra and Kanan had joined you.
You held her saber to her throat.
"You should know better than to be so arrogant when you are so severely outmatched" You said and were about to end her when Kanan stopped you.
"Y/N stop!" He said and you halted.
"She went after my son. I can see the temple training in her fighting, she's a pathetic excuse for a traitor and she must be stopped before she can hurt anyone else" You said, hand stable and on the verge of plunging into her throat.
"This isn't the Jedi way, it isn't right. You won, Ben is safe" Kanan said from behind you and you felt him walk closer to you.
"You should have listened before Kanan, I am no longer a jedi" You said and cut into the inquisitor's throat, killing her.
"And I will do what I must to keep my family safe" You said, extinguished the red saber, throwing it to the ground.

Will they be alright?
TW : major character death, blood, reader is called mom but is otherwise gender neutral.
You did all that was asked of you. You completed the pokedex to perfection.
You did what Arceus asked of you, hell you did what everyone asked of you.
You came to terms years ago that you’d be stuck in Hisui for the rest of your life.
You had a family here, sure not by blood, but they mean the world to you. Laventon was the best father figure you could ask for.
Ingo is an amazing friend, you spend a lot of time with him in the highlands.
Then to your children.
They have grown so much over the years.
Sabi was eight when you met her, now she’s fourteen, still a little air headed but she knows more than she lets on, you call her your wild child.
Lian was ten when you fought his noble, now sixteen he’s still as rowdy and playful as ever, his rock collection, much like his knowledge, keeps growing.
Rei is fully grown now, but he still swings by every night for dinner, he always says your cooking is the best.
You wonder if he still knows how to make the food you do.
It’s getting harder to breathe. Taking a Rhyperior tail to the chest will do that for you.
You hope they will be okay.
It’s cold in the mountains, you can’t imagine how cold it must be in the icelands, hopefully Sabi still has her mittens.
You give a mute chuckle at the memory of her misplacing them and putting her ice cold hands under Rei’s shirt.
It hurts to move.
You try to lay on your side as you can feel blood pooling quickly in your mouth. But you can’t.
You weren’t aware of your surroundings enough, you thought you’d be better at this job than anyone.
Even professionals make mistakes.
You can only stay up at the sky. The sun is setting, the colors blend beautifully.
You’re alone for the most part. You can’t reach your pokeballs even if you wanted to.
Your dominant arm being cracked in an unnatural angle.
Breathing hurts the most. You can only make an wheezing sound.
Can Rei handle dinner? Lian and Sabi like to help, so he shouldn’t have too much of a problem.
Do they have enough supplies to last? You can’t really remember what all you have at your house.
A cough wracks through your body, the pain is agonizing.
The warm blood that gets sputtered onto your face and chest quickly turns cold in the mountain air.
You feel bad you’re going to leave them alone, your kids are going to be upset about this.
A lone tear falls.
You’re going to miss birthdays and milestones, possibly miss weddings, miss the dumb arguments you four would have.
You remember comforting Sabi when she found out grass could feel pain late at night.
You’ll miss Rei and Laventon’s ramblings.
‘Then we saw a different colored goomy! I wish I had your throwing abilities cause I wanted to catch it so bad, mom!’
‘Yes it was truly a sight! I wonder what causes these color changes, they are very rare to see, so maybe a recessive trait?’
You’ll miss Cyllene’s scolding when you miss a meal.
‘How can you stay in working order if you don’t eat? It’s fuel for life, now eat.’
You’ll miss Lian gifting you more rocks.
‘I saw this one and thought of you, ma!’
You’ll miss Sabi randomly starting snow ball fights when you visit her.
‘Come on mom! It’s just a-ack!’
You’re going to miss dinner tonight.
You hope they won’t be mad about that. You wanted to try out a new recipe but you guess you can’t now.
You can feel yourself growing colder, your vision is blurring.
You can’t remember if you told them all you loved them today before you left.
You hope you did.
With one last wheeze the Coronet Highlands went quiet.

Okay, here's a request that I was think about for a good time... What would be Olivia/O7(can you do separate? If not, that's okay) reaction when she found out Reader has a child? Like, I just want to now if she would treat them like her own child or just go to buy milk.
Olivia/O7 reacting to a Reader who has a child
TW/CW: Torture mentions, Mentions of past decapitation, mentions of alcohol.
Tumblr media
Olivia
Olivia is very... Hesitant at the thought of taking care of a child. Olivia hates humans, even though she is one. Olivia even wanted to be a mother one day, but seeing how she has no patience with humans, she fears that she will make her child unhappy as her mother made her. Olivia would rather not have a child if it means making they unhappy.
And then theres you, who insisted on approaching Olivia, you both fall in love and blah blah blah BUT THEN YOU HAVE A CHILD. Olivia was shocked! How did she never know about this?! A heaviness appeared in her chest and all those teenage crises about becoming a mother came back. Olivia can't just break up with you for having a kid, she'd be an asshole! And it's clear that Olivia wants to try to be a good mother if it means she can prove that she loves you. So even with her insecurities about motherhood, Olivia will try to love this child for you. So you'll have to teach Olivia have confidence (and patience) of caring for a child.
Olivia is an easy learner in specific topics, and she gets the hang of it, even if she isn't quite that confident yet. One of her biggest concerns is whether the child will like her, or maybe Olivia watches too many movies where the son doesn't like the single father having a relationship with a new woman.
Olivia now tries to drink less, for your sake and for the child. She only drinks when the child and, sometimes when you sleep now.
But... will a happy family really save Olivia from her hatred? Her lifelong doubted hatred for humans? Of course not, Olivia thinks this is stupid. But at the same time, Olivia would hate to abandon the only human she could find compassion for, and that included her child. So, Olivia starts making a plan to convince you to go to her work on the day she's going to put her plans into action.
BUT THEN YOU BRING YOUR CHILD.
O7
Even though she no longer has lungs, O7 may feel out of breath when she reacts that you brought your child without knowing about the upcoming incidents. Y'all are definitely going to have a parents argument out of an Adam Sandler movie because of that.
The two of you then come to a conclusion that O7 will take a break from her tortures towards the workers of the company to give daily attention to her child. So O7 starts to plan tortures that can work without needing her presence.
It will take a while for the child to identify that O7 = Olivia, and it is quite understandable for O7. Olivia has a woman's body, she is skinny with human skin and a voice of a grown woman, but O7 have a male body, with a male voice sounding like it's coming from a microphone, with metallic skin and screen head, and even with masculine characteristics, she is still considered a woman. It will be Very confusing for the child.
O7 and your child are constantly playing hide and seek, she counting to 50 seconds and the child hiding, just for O7 act like a fool looking for the child, and when she finds they, O7 ties strings to the child's foot and leaves them in the air(Probably bragging that she won and the kid didn't)
O7 will make the greatest effort for your child not to find out about the tortures that she practices. So if the child hears some kind of scream, O7 will lie saying they are watching a horror movie.
And Thatche4 and Trojan will be some kind of uncles with opposite traits(some sorta of Stan Pines and Stanford Pines thing). Thatche4 always managing to entertain the child while Trojan prefers to take the child out of Thatche4's hands knowing what this AI is capable of.
O7 has already thought about reading her favorite books to the child, but she thinks Space Odyssey would be too complicated for a child, and I Have No Mouth and I Must... Well, it's I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream, no explanation is needed
I have this fun scenario where Tester faces O7, but she has the child sleeping on her lap.
"Don't bother with that little thing, Tester. Just don't make any noise and I'll think about not cutting your stomach."
O7 knows exactly what will happen if the child interacts with humans, they will try to convince him that O7 is evil, and try to manipulate the child's point of view of their own mother.
"Your mother is a monster, don't listen to her, she destroyed everyone's lives here." Antony grunted, as always.
"Be careful with your mother, little one, nobody knows if she'll lock you in the dark like she did to me, haha" Julia joked.
Tester didn't even try, they know a kid won't know sign language.
"Do you really ask that? You were born by it, no doubt you must be sick like it." Cyrus cursed.
"I haven't had many interactions with your mother, but your Uncle Tatche4 is why I only have 8 fingers." Daniel commented.
Of course, if O7 finds out that a human other than you is trying to give her child some sort of influence, heads will roll.
