“Well, this place blows,” you sighed, looking down to the remnants of punch in your red solo cup. You turned to Peter, grinning at him as he agreed, his voice catching in his throat. “You alright?”
“Yeah,” he nodded, his eyes drifting over to your brother, the self-proclaimed music artist. “Not my kind of music, though.”
You held back a laugh, “yeah, I’m not a fan of it either.”
The two of you were quiet for a short while, your eyes glancing about the room towards the crowd of teenagers. You had quite a few friends around, though found no interest in approaching any of them. Turning your head, you realised that there was only one person in particular that you felt the urge to talk to.
“How about you and I get out of here?” You offered, nudging him in the side with your elbow.
Peter glanced at you and then pointed to himself, “what, me?”
“Yeah, you,” you teased, rolling your eyes before placing down your cup and taking his hand. “Come on!”
Instantly flushing, Peter followed you, taking one last glance towards Ned who grinned and stuck his thumbs up, encouraging his friend to follow you. Turning back, Peter realised that you were taking him outside.
“That’s better,” you sighed, smiling at him.
“Uh, yeah,” Peter blushed, scratching the back of his neck. “Why does-” he let out a sigh. “Never mind.”
“No, go on, tell me,” you encouraged.
“It’s stupid, really,” he muttered, his face turning warm. He sighed, giving in to your persuasive gaze, “why does your brother hate me so much?”
You grinned to yourself. “He’s just an asshole,” you responded, sharing a laugh with him, “if it’s any consolation, I don’t hate you. In fact, I think you’re pretty cool.”
His face lit up at your words. “Really?”
“Yeah, Peter,” you answered, grinning. “I like you.”
He rose his brows, unsure as how to take your statement. “As-as like, a friend? Or, uh... oh God, you mean as just a friend, I’m so-”
Rolling your eyes, you gently clasped your hand around the back of his neck and pulled him towards your face, connecting your lips in a heat-of-the-moment kiss. It was brief, although sweet.
“Oh,” Peter blushed, looking over at your eyes with a swarm of butterflies in his stomach. He didn’t understand that metaphor, really. It was more like a swarm of lightning bolts. Butterflies were far too delicate for-
“Everything okay?” You questioned, snapping your fingers in front of him to pull him out of his daze. You felt as if you had perhaps stepped over the line, maybe it was too soon, maybe he didn’t want to... his blank expression was extremely hard to read.
“Yeah, I just- can we do that again?” He asked, blushing profusely. You sighed, relaxing from your tense state.
“Of course, Peter,” you grinned, eyes fluttering shut as you leaned forwards again before the two of you snapped away, the sound of glass shattering coming from behind you.
“What the Hell, Parker?” Flash yelled, glass around his feet. Peter exchanged a fearful glance with you, his eyes wide. Your brothers hands tensed and you pushed Peter gently, telling him to leave. Catching onto your gesture, he took off in a sprint, though Flash wasn’t far behind.
“Flash!” You called out, grabbing his wrist before he was able to catch onto Peter, who wormed his way through the dense crowd of kids, all of whom were craning their neck to catch onto the drama. “Calm down, would you?”
He snatched his arm away, defeat. “What were you doing out there with him, anyway?”
“We were just talking!” You defended.
“It didn’t look like it,” Flash sighed, eyeing you carefully, “just stay away from him, alright?”
“Whatever you say, Flash,” you sighed.
Y/N: I am so sorry about Flash earlier, are you okay?
Peter: I’m fine. Just mad I didn’t get to spend more time with you without nearly getting my head ripped off
Y/N: haha, I see. Well, we can always make up for it another time.
Peter: really?
Y/N: Of course, though this time without Flash intruding.
Peter: I’d like that. Look, I gotta go. Talk to you tomorrow?
Y/N: sure. Night, Pete.
Peter: night x
