New title update:
Velkhana has made her way to the game and I now get to have a fun time with Mrs. Stabby Mcstab-Stab!
Tumblr media
In all seriousness, I knew that they were gonna bring her back after looking at Malzeno for awhile. I was really hoping for Nergigante because he’s my favorite flagship elder dragon monster aside from Malzeno and I can see him working really well with Sunbreak’s mechanics.
But oh well. I don’t mind Velkhana, I love her fights back in Iceborne but I had my hopes up for Nergigante to come to Sunbreak.
And plus
Tumblr media
I managed to snag the Velkhana layered armor set for my palamute! I do NOT regret that decision! >:3

And another one for the monster hunter crossover ! :D
In this universe Engie is a Smithy ! He's from Verudo a big fortresses city. Not a lot to say about he's life there. He has a passion for creating and designing weapons and armors. He's well know to be someone who try to get his own resources for his creations. Sadly he's not a hunter so when he want to go mining a little he take his palamute with him.
The doggo name is Iron. She's a very nice compagnon and Engie had the idea to put a canon (made with teostra part) on her back. She's now basically a turret.
When he was sent to the new world, he just had in mind how much new resources he will have at his disposition. When he arrives he becomes friends with Pyro, who now get him a lot for Monsters parts.

We got Monster Hunter ninja/samurai edition, next game I want Monster Hunter yeehaw edition. I want it wild west themed with cowboy-looking armor and weapons. Make a variant of Barroth that has him looking more like a train, maybe fire elemental to correlate with coal/steam engines. Instead of a canteen, it's a saloon where you get your perks from eating massive barbecue meats and moonshine. BRING BACK SIEGES and have one take place on a train and getting chased by a large pursuing monster a la the boat sieges in MH4. Orca variant of Zamtrios. Bigfoot monster. Bring back mounting as a mechanic instead of wyvern riding because not only is it a harder mechanic, but it fits the rodeo idea more. More snake wyverns because we still only just have Najarala. Keep palamutes tho because it works with the lone rider aesthetic of westerns but mainly because dogjy 🐕
I want this more than anything...

Sell me on monster hunter, go
OHHHH YOU'RE GONNA REGRET ASKING THIS ARE YOU READY
Concept is very simple: Kill hig monster before it kills you (hence the name)
Onto the selling points
Monster Design
The monster design is widely regarded as some of the best out there. In a series dedicated to fighting monsters, it has to be, and it doesn't disappoint. It ranges from dinosaurs, to wyverns, to dragons, to things that don't fit into any of these categories! The designs also generally have a basis in some concept of biology, taking notes from real life creatures and using fantasy concepts to create creatures that feel almost believable.
A few monsters found in Rise, for your consideration: Aknosom, Rathalos, Zinogre, and Magnamalo
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
These are just a sampler, from some of the Early stuff in base Rise. There's quite a few things you can fight, and the DLC features some of my absolute favorite monsters ever: Gore Magala and Malzeno
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gameplay
Rise admittedly works a bit differently from classic MonHun, but the base concepts are still there.
In this game, it's all about hitting the monster and trying not to get hit. You have to memorize attack patterns, dodge them at the right time, figure out where to get the best damage in. You're opponent doesn't have a health bar; rather, you have to try and determine how close you are to winning based on the monster's behavior. It gets slower, shows signs of damage, will often run off to rest when near death.
There's also not a standard player leveling system. Instead, you upgrade your gear, and get better at playing. In order to get new gear, you have to kill monsers, and use their parts to make new weapons and armor. The armor design is also very neat, and occasionally very very silly.
Speaking of weapons, there are 14 different different weapon types, one for everyone. I prefer the fast paced and acrobatic Dual Blades, while my mom prefers the heavy hitting and complex Charge Blade. Theres simple, theres complicated, there's close combat, and ranged. Whatever floats your boat!
Rise's special mechanic that sets it apart is Wirebugs. Think of them as a gear piece that lets you grapple hook in midair, and perform all kinds of fancy moves. They take some getting used to, but once you master them, you'll be virtually unstoppable.
Pets
One of Monster Hunter's longtime traditions are Palicoes! They are little cat friends that help you fight in combat, and can also act as support. Very cute and useful.
Rise is also the first game to introduce Palamutes! If you're more of a dog person, congrats, you can have a dog that will help you in combat. They have different uses than Palicoes, so mix and match as needed
Music
THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST UNDERRATED PARTS OF THE SERIES I SWEAR
I could talk about about the soundtrack for days and days. Some tracks are better than others, of course, but they're generally very good at creating a good atmosphere
For your perusal:
Proof of a Hero, the Main Theme of the series. Often played in the final phase of major boss fights (The version I have linked is the original, and doesn't actually play in Rise. Rise has it's own version, as does the DLC, Sunbreak, which has my favorite version)
Spark of Blue, Zinogre's theme (a personal favorite)
Barbarous Beast, Magnamalo's Theme
Brilliance Eclipsed, Gore Magala's Theme
Scarlet Feast, Malzeno's Theme
The soundtrack is really fun, and Rise puts a fun twist on several tracks
Co-Op Play
You can play alone, but it's really fun to play with friends. Nothing like watching your buddy get smacked across the map and dying. Up to four friends can play together, and you can tackle everything in the game alongside them
Okay I have to pay attention to stream now but this is my sales pitch hope you enjoyed

Hunter in NRC
Fraena stood beside the masked man, who told her that he is called “Dire Crowley” and is the headmaster of the place she was transported to.
A place called, “Night Raven College”, is a prestigious academy known for training exceptional mages who can perform amazing magical feats.
Magic. Such a fantasy that only exists in novels, there is no magic in her world.
Unless you count the Elder Dragons but they’re classified with the ability to control the elements which could count as magic or sorts.
But apart from that, most of the “magic” monsters can do is biologically explainable.
She’ll have to get used to the new norm though, seeing as how she has no way of getting back to her original world yet. During the time she is here, Fraena is appointed as a teacher’s assistant in the meantime.
So, here she is now, standing before the other staff that Crowley is eagerly introducing her to.
Crowley introduces them to her as she is introduced to them. His golden clawed finger points to one of them as he starts off.
"The old gentleman with the feline is Mozus Trein and his familiar, Lucius."
The older gentleman that held such a strict expression while he held his cat, he's the professor who is in charge of magic history.
The cat was close to a palico but there was a clear difference, it wasn’t bipedal nor does it even talk.
Trein nods to Fraena politely but she noticed that his gaze was kept on Meowdame the majority of the introduction.
Seems like he’s quite fond of cats… or maybe this was his first time seeing a walking cat.
Lucius seems to like Meowdame considering they’re both felines but Draken is definitely not on his good side when the cat hissed at the Palamute.
"This fashionable man with the fur coat is Divus Crewel"
The gentleman with the monochrome hair and the large fur coat was the alchemy professor who has an odd gleam in his eyes when he kept his gaze glued to Draken.
She can tell, this man was a dog person in contrast to the older gentleman.
"Then the muscular fellow here is Ashton Vargas"
The muscular man with the red tracksuit was the PE coach. He has a huge grin when he looks at her form carrying such a mighty weapon on her back and not even showing any signs of difficulty.
He reminds her almost of Elder Fugen in regards to their muscles, he would’ve been a perfect copy if he weren’t so… short.
"Last but not least, the school's shopkeep, Sam!"
Then lastly was the school’s shopkeeper, he gives her a friendly wave. He was a dark-skinned fellow with a skeletal tattoo that no doubt, covered his entire body. It reminds her of Chief Gara and his tattoos.
She awkwardly waves back, though there was something that made her nervous about him though.
She swore his shadow just moved right now too…
“As you have all been briefed on our newest recruit. I hope we all can work together as a family!”
Crowley beams at them, Divus scoffs. Obviously unconvinced with this “gracious” attitude.
“Family doesn’t give you the authority to ditch your work on the newbie, Crowley. This is why no one applies to be your secretary, you know! And you had to drag this young lady into your schemes too… just because you wanted free labor”
Divus shakes his head in disappointment as the others hum in agreement. Crowley huffs at them like a schoolgirl, miffed at how they brushed off his attempts to make it a welcoming environment.
It seems like this headmaster was the type of guy to not bother with trivial things. Fraena knows that if he pulls something like this in the guild, he’d be fined heavily.
But she doesn’t have a choice since it’s either this or the streets of unknown land with unknown laws. She’ll figure out how to survive a school with a lax headmaster.
Stepping forward she takes a formal bow, the magical pin (graciously provided to her by Crowley) that would help her communicate with them dangled on the left side of her armor.
“It’s nice to meet you all, I am Fraena… I work as a hunter where I’m from, along with my Palamute, Draken, he assists me on my hunts. This felyne here is Meowdame, she has experience as a cook and medic.”
She felt awkward having to stand there in silence as the staff stared at her and her companions. Until a large hand gave her a friendly smack on the shoulder, Vargas lets out a bellowing laugh.
“A fellow hunter? That’s something I can get behind, though your weapon is kind of overkill for hunting a couple of bears or moose though. What kind of beasts are you hunting to use this bad boy?”
He looks at her intricately built gunlance with curiosity. It was big and bulky, but it certainly looked like it could dish out a good amount of damage.
Not to mention, most of the parts seem to be made from the scales of some creature. The others are quite interested to know too.
Without hesitation, Fraena gave her own explanation since the others were already told of her situation by Crowley and she found no reason to cover up her identity.
But the moment she provided an answer, they froze.
“We hunt monsters, more specifically wyverns of different classifications… on occasion an elder dragon if it was an emergency.”
She demonstrates by unsheathing her weapon, she unloads her gunlance for safety as she draws their attention to her weapon.
“In order to defend ourselves, we forge armor and weapons from the monsters we are permitted to slay in order to hunt down stronger monsters more efficiently.”
The men in the room looked at her as if she had just grown two heads.
The silence was broken by the headmaster with a shaky voice, his mask would’ve flown off his face if it were possible.
“Monsters?! What kind of world do you live in-“, Crowley was about to ramble on but he choked on his spit.
Meowdame decided to explain further.
“Well, where we’re from. Meownsters larger than mew-mans are everywhere and can go on a rampage or wander too close to a settle-mew-nt. Hunters like dearie here, are sent by the guild to fight them off~! She’s quite capable, I can vouch fur that”
Meowdame explained in summary but that just seemed to make the headmaster spiral into a flustered state.
He dramatically collapses on a conveniently placed chaise lounge to wipe his sweat with a handkerchief.
The others just roll their eyes at his overdramatic act. Trein spoke next, seemingly intrigued but also slightly disturbed.
“To think that a world full of fearsome monsters live everywhere… So, your hunters can use weapons and a form of magic to combat them then?” Trein asked, though there was a slight nervous pitch in his voice.
He was partially right, except for the magic part that is. Fraena corrected his assumption on this.
“We do have a wide array of weapons to fight with, but this magic you speak of… I’m afraid our world doesn’t have it at all. We rely solely on our weapons, our wits and many other inventions made for combat.”
If the men weren’t pale before, they’re sure as hell paler than a Khezu now.
Crowley was close to having a heart attack after hearing that.
everyone but Vargas was absolutely bright-eyed as he pictured himself wielding a huge weapon while standing on top of a pile of defeated monsters.
Fraena was starting to regret telling them everything when Vargas full-on shakes her hands excitedly while spouting how her world is totally crazy yet such a paradise for a hunter such as himself.
Moments later, Crowley managed to steel himself and regain his composure.
“Ahem, my word… That’s quite the world you live in! A world without magic, yet you need to combat beasts… goodness gracious! But no time for this! We’ll have time for questions later, we need to get to work, chop, chop!”
Despite his best efforts to get them to move on, the wavering tone in his voice and his shaky legs say otherwise.
He is quite disturbed after imagining a mini-version of himself in a world with beasts and NO magic to fend for himself.
Oh, how easy fodder he would be! Fraena thought to herself.
Draken huffs quietly, already judging how weak that man was and he’d definitely be eaten alive by the lowest class monsters. What a disgrace he’d be.
As soon as the other staff apart from Divus filed out of the office, the alchemy professor’s grey eyes locked with Fraena’s and he motions her to follow him.
“First things first, we need to get you the proper attire if you are to work in this place. Come along!”
With a crack of his teaching stick, the two head out of the office and off to the clinic.
The dark hallways feel out of place for the otherworldly guests, nothing was familiar anymore.
Hopefully, they can adjust to this new world…
To Be Continued…

Ignore this ask if you want to, but my brain keeps thinking about JTTA x Monster Hunter, and I don't think I'll be able to stop until I get it out, so here I am.
I'm looking back at this and realizing I accidentally went on a bit of a rant trying to explain Monster Hunter and adding too much detail in some places, so I apologize for the amount of text.
So, as you can probably tell by the name, Monster Hunter is a game where you hunt monsters, and I don't mean things like vampires and ghosts and what not, but in the world of Monster Hunter, Monsters are essentially just animals that occasionally put entire ecosystems and/or villages at risk of destruction, usually depending on the monster itself.
The people who deal with those monsters are called hunters, and train as part of the Hunter's Guild, which is basically about studying monsters, keeping people safe from rampaging monsters, and all around trying to keep the ecosystem intact and not destroyed.
Hunters use a variety of different weapons (and weapon types) and armor, the majority of which are made with the parts of monsters that they've hunted. Different weapons have different elemental/status effects depending on the parts used to make them, and different armors have different elemental defenses and weaknesses for the same reason.
Hunters will usually have a Palico with them, which is just a felyne (bipedal cat with same/similar intelligence to humans and capable of speech) who helps them in battle. Monster Hunter Rise also introduced Palamutes, which are Canynes (dogs but enough that a human would be able to ride one) that help hunters by fighting monsters and being a sort of mount for a hunter to ride on to chase after monsters and traverse the ecosystem. Both come in a variety of colors (outside of one's you would expect on a cat or dog, so they can be colours like green, pink, purple, yellow, and what-not) and fur patterns.
I think that it would be really neat if IK was from the world of monster hunter and was a hunter in training. Like, imagine if this tiny child showed up and you don't assume much about them, then one day you find out that this child is in training to get into battle with dangerous beasts, some of which are probably 15-20x the size of her.
Since hunters are decently sturdy (obviously the armor helps with that, but still) and strong, along with needing to be agile enough to dodge monster attacks, so I like to think that hunter-in-training IK would be able to, at the very least, be able to defend herself from any demons (Belphegor) who might try to hurt her, even if only for a minute or two. Plus, depending on where she grew up, she may already have a Palico and maybe a Palamute, which I think would be great.
However, I also think it would be funny if IK was somehow already a full fledged-hunter, although she would probably only be allowed to do 1-star or 2-'star since 1-star quests don't involve fighting any large monsters, and the 2-star quests that do involve fighting large monsters aren't for the very dangerous monsters.
On one hand, I'm pretty sure that no matter how skilled IK is, she wouldn't be a hunter until she was older. On the other hand, I think it would be really funny if someone was showing her a picture book of human world animals, showed her a picture of a bear and mentioned how dangerous they are to humans, and IK just casually goes "Oh, yeah. I've killed one of those before."
Oh, and either way, during that one chapter, I think it was during the retreat to Diavolo's castle, when the humans and angels had seperate days to plan activities for each other and the demons based off stuff from their own realms and IK decided to do a classroom where she and Solomon taught everyone about human world stuff, maybe she could still do something along the lines of that, but instead of regular human world stuff, she could teach them about things like monster biology (monsters are sorted into different categories, I think mostly based on their skeletal structure but there could be more}, some monsters are specifically all-male or all-female and their counterparts are so different that they're technically considered to be different monster species entirely) and maybe how the different weapons in her world work. I feel like she would be so excited to teach them that stuff because, despite it being common knowledge back in her world, in the Devildom, it's something only she knows.
I'm going to end this here because I don't want to make this any longer than it already is. If you decide to post this ask, I absolutely want to hear your opinions on it and whether or not you'd be okay with hearing more of my thoughts on it, such as what weapons I think IK would use or things she might do/say that freak out/confuse the others and whatnot.
ooo this is cool!!! okok so, i won't be able to keep this canon compliant with monster hunter BUT
i reckon it'd be funny if ik was basically one of this rugged seasoned warriors despite looking like a totally normal (if anything, weak-looking) kid. you know like in fighting games where gamers have super strong equipment/are super good at the strategy of it all and also insist on using the cute anime girl avatar to do it
maybe the monsters ik hunts existed in the devildom in the past, as a sort of mythical ancient threats. imagine being diavolo, growing up learning of these mysterious beasts that terrorised the devildom in the past and had to be banished with the combined power of like ten high demons, and then you encounter this kid who immediately info-dumps every possible bit of taxonomy about said beast, then mentions she's hunted like ten of them before
in the beginning lucifer keeps subtly interrogating her to see if she's a threat to his brothers and all he really learns is that she is frighteningly hardy. this kid's survived so many kinds of venoms and poisons that he wouldn't be surprised if her blood has been replaced by some kind of toxic chemical cocktail
also i think we all know what's going to happen if ik has a palico. satan is getting in on that immediately (in this case he becomes ik's first friend. though i can imagine he'd be a little thrown off at first by their humanoid nature)
i guess in this case she WOULD just start blasting when encountered with lucifer and belphie's respective attacks... if belphie did kill her anyway she just respawns immediately afterwards

More Monster Hunter things. One of the more notable things is that based on sort of an evolutionary thing, one could assume that since the monsters are so big and strong, that the humans there are also pretty frickin' sturdy. One thing to support this (one which is quite funny to me) is that in game, hunters, when they jump off of things, not take fall damage. It's just not a thing. Doesn't matter how high, their knees are just made of weapons grade adamantium.
The weapons an armor is also usually made out of monster parts. Some armor is lighter than others, but even still have a fair hit of weight to them. And all the weapons save for things like dual blades and sword and shield, are pretty bulky/big because you kinda need it to be to pierce the monster hide. So this also boosts the average strength ratio of a human from Monster Hunter, compared to a hylian.
Because of this, there's also instances where one could latch onto a monster with a rope and yank it towards the wall for a fairly vicious knockdown. You can do this with just about every monster, and all of them will tab out at at least 400+ lbs (that's like 180+kg for those non Americans). This makes it possible that Mh Player could absolutely at least suplex a lynel if so desired. This also means they can tank attacks, because some monster attacks are brutal and what gives hylians broken bones, just gives Player a decent bruise.
But yeah, in domestic situations, Twilight isn't the strongest anymore and he can't exactly say he's mad about it because all the Link's have a thing for people who can kick their ass.
I think next I'll talk about palicoes and palamutes.
Player proceeding to bench press a Lynel after it tried to get them one too many times is hilarious actually IUDHIEPUH
And it makes sense that humans were stronger, having to adapt to such conditions with such monsters, it's only natural that humans grew stronger to fight those conditions.
I'm sorry and I'm tired nothing might make sense here OIUFGFU

Setsuna's 30-Day Hunter OC Meme!
Tumblr media
Glad to see people enjoying the meme I made, and I just finished mine up yesterday (30 days really goes by quick!). I decided to document my thread on Twitter here.
Presenting, Setsuna!
Tumblr media
Day 1: Introduction
Tumblr media
This is Setsuna Yukino. Age 25~30+, Nonbinary (They/She), Human. Born and raised in Kamura Village.
-
Day 2: Weapons
Setsuna specializes mostly in Insect Glaives and uses the Fox Halberd. On rare occasions though, they'll use the Mail Soulpiercer bow made from slaying Magnamalo.
-
Day 3: Armor
Tumblr media
Setsuna's main armor set for hunting. There's a bit of the influence of the Wyverian twins, and even Master Utsushi- the fox mask is a gift from him, and Setsu habitually wears it on many hunts.
Tumblr media
This is what Setsu normally wears on off-days. Or if it isn't this yukata, then a baggy jinbei/common workclothes similar to what the other villagers wear.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
While there's the main outfit, there were 3 different sets worn throughout the Risebreak story.
-
Day 4: Buddies
Tumblr media
Setsuna's buddies are Fuu the Shikigami Palamute and Kogitsune, the... nine-tailed fox who acts like a Palico for some reason?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fuu was passed down to Setsuna when they were a child. In fact, he is older than his owner! He's a familiar face in the village, and everyone knows who this magnificent beast belongs to. A fiercely loyal guy.
Kogitsune's been acting as Setsuna's support ever since they saved him from a rogue pitfall trap years ago. He's their housekeeper, but occasionally helps with hunts. Setsuna decided not to question his existence, or why he acts like a Felyne. What matters is that he's a friend.
-
Day 5: Monsters
Setsuna is best associated with Mizutsune, being fox-like and lithe in battle. (But, if you asked, they actually enjoy hunting Rakna-Kadaki the most. Probably because it's like a big bug... And Setsu loves bugs.)
-
Day 6: Hobbies
Tumblr media
Setsuna's favorite hobby is raising kinsects in their spare time. They've been doing this for many years, since childhood. They also love exploring and finding where rare endemic lifeforms live.
Tumblr media
As for side jobs, Setsu often helps other villagers with tasks like physical labor. If they never became a hunter, they'd basically be living day in and out like this. Lowkey would be a workaholic, but they do take breaks often. (This art is a younger version of Setsu.)
-
Day 7: Family
Tumblr media
Setsuna considers most of Kamura family, and they regard her the same. The Wyverian Twins are like Setsu's older sisters, and Yomogi, Iori, and Komitsu little siblings. Setsu also has a mother and father who are traveling merchants that sell Kamura's wares.
-
Day 8: Comrades
Setsuna has a small network of friends she likes to hunt with most, but doesn't mind helping strangers if they'll have her. She especially enjoys hunting with a certain instructor. When it comes to gathering requests though, Setsu prefers to be alone.
-
Day 9: Bond
Tumblr media
Kamura prides itself on the fact that their greatest hunter and the village instructor are locally known as a legendary power couple. You might catch them running across the rooftops on the way to their next mission. Setsuna and Utsushi are professionals, but rest assured... They are very much in love. Painfully so. There is not a bond that is stronger than the one between master-and-disciple-turned-lovers.
Here's a link to the first fanfic I wrote about Setsuna and Utsushi, if you're interested in their story. The thread also has the rest of my fanfics about them, in order.
-
Day 10: Food
Setsuna tries to have a balanced diet, and will eat almost anything they're offered. Lately, they've grown a sweet tooth because of Yomogi and Komitsu. However, if you asked, sashimi is their "favorite" food because it's the only thing they know how to prepare.
Tumblr media
To be clear, Setsuna... cannot cook. Not even if their life depended on it. But they're oblivious to the fact. Everyone goes out of their way to stop them from trying to cook. The instructor is even stumped on how to teach Setsu...
-
Day 11: Inventory
Setsuna likes to travel light and only brings what's needed for every mission and hunt, like a few potions and rations. They're pretty handy at finding materials to make useful things on the spot when it gets tough.
-
Day 12: Symbolism
Setsuna is often represented by "the snow of winter melting to give way to spring", a chrysalis, or a snow-faced fox.
-
Day 13: Music
Tumblr media
Here is Setsuna's playlist, all songs that remind me of them or their relationship with Utsushi.
-
Day 14: Habits
Setsuna tends to look a certain way when they're pensive or lost in thought. It's something like concern or even at times a "resting bitch face", and makes them intimidating to people who don't know about it. Also has a habit of being sleepy after eating.
-
Day 15: Half-way Free Space!
Tumblr media
Setsu is a surprisingly good singer, but the quickest way to make them stop is to point it out... So if you'd like to keep hearing it, don't say anything at all and just enjoy it.
-
Day 16: Motives
Setsuna never actually wanted to be a hunter while growing up. They were content with being an everyman of the village and living day to day with no real aspirations. But around the age of 19, they were stirred to act...
After witnessing the aftermath of a monster attack that took away a friend's life. Wanting to know how to protect others, Setsuna finally reached out to the only person they knew that could help...
Tumblr media
Utsushi knew of their potential for a while, but only took them up as a disciple when they were ready and serious about being a hunter. Setsuna studied under him for about 5-6+ years before the start of Rise.
Here's a link to "Cocoon", a fanfic about Setsuna's backstory, if you're interested in the details.
-
Day 17: Temperament
Tumblr media
Setsuna was used to being ostracized at a young age, and though it doesn't really happen anymore, they got used to it and don't really care about what people think about them. So if anyone had an issue with them, they would just calmly assess the situation.
Tumblr media
They'd rather avoid confrontation as much as they can. But that being said, if someone really came at them... Well, there always comes a point where Setsu gives off a weirdly intimidating aura, so sooner or later, someone will back down.
-
Day 18: Happiness
Tumblr media
Seeing a smile on a client's face after a job well done, watching their kinsects grow up well, spending time with the instructor... These things make Setsuna happy. The fact that tomorrow could bring these things makes life worth living.
Tumblr media
... Also, on rare occasions, a really good smoke.
-
Day 19: Aversion
Setsuna doesn't feel comfortable with people who are too abrasive, who look down on others, or aren't very humble. And of all the things they really hate, it's the idea of not being able to fulfill a promise.
-
Day 20: Trauma
Tumblr media
When Setsuna was a child, their grandfather left on a journey and never returned. The void that he left behind slowly changed them into a person who couldn't take risks and had no aim in life. At least, for a time...

Things are much different now. Eventually, Setsuna learned to embrace life's whats and ifs by their own hands. Their body is covered with scars from their time as a hunter, but they learned to accept every single one as proof of surviving risks taken.

Day 21: Fear
I mentioned that Setsuna hates "the idea of not being able to fulfill a promise." But actually, that hate is an irrational fear. They can't handle the possibility of leaving behind unfinished business.
-
Day 22: Spirituality
Setsuna seems lax, but there is something fervent about the way they deeply respect the balance of nature and their part in the cycle of mortality that surrounds hunting. They always offer a tiny prayer of thanks for the life that they take.
-
Day 23: First Impressions
When people first meet Setsuna, they tend to get bewitched and intimidated by her presence. Is she royalty or something? There's just something about her. But as soon as she opens her mouth, people are taken aback by how oddly friendly she is. It often leads to awkward first conversations, where even Setsuna is confused about what's going on. As people get to spend more time with her, they'll find that she's just an offbeat, but benevolent fellow. It's strange that this is the type of person who became Kamura's savior, and there would probably be conflicting tales about the Fierce Flame if it weren't for Master Utsushi regaling everyone in fine detail about her efforts.

Day 24: Facade
Tumblr media
Setsuna is genuinely an open and amiable person, but when it comes to certain situations... Well, Setsu can try to hide their feelings, but it's noticable when something is bothering them. There are certain complicated emotions that Setsu has trouble conveying in a straight-forward manner. Not because they want to hide them, but because they physically/mentally have trouble with it. Only their closest friends and partner know to give them time and space to speak.
I think it's also worth bringing back the "degrees of feeling jealousy" meme that was going around in certain fan circles. Setsuna is really funny when trying to keep a straight face.
-
Day 25: Change
I mentioned it before on Day 16, but Setsuna originally didn't want to be a hunter. At that time, they were a lot more lonesome and estranged, yet paradoxically having a doormat habit of doing things for others just to feel important.
Nowadays, Setsu is much more vibrant and friendly, with every action full of intent. Even if they are still a bit odd in some ways, they're someone you can rely on and trust.
Appearance-wise, Setsu used to have short hair around the time they first started training under Utsushi.
-
Day 26: Criticism
Those old habits of being a doormat die hard, and Setsuna does have issues with taking on a little too much at once. While they do follow through with everything, due to that fear of ever leaving anything unfinished or not fulfilling a promise...
They can really have a habit of draining themselves after everything's over. They are working on taking things one step at a time, and sharing any burdens with others they trust.
-
Day 27: Atmosphere
Setsuna knows the Shrine Ruins like the back of their hands, since they've been exploring it since they were younger. But after being deployed to Elgado, they've really come to be fond of the Jungle area. They do well with any kind of weather, but they love the gentle sun after a light rain. Or even a sun-rain, itself.
-
Day 28: Rest
Tumblr media
Setsuna seems to have the ability to be awake at any time they're needed. They usually wake up at sunrise, but they also enjoy staying up under moonlight and sleeping in when they're free to do so. They also tend to take quick naps usually after a meal.
-
Day 29: Dreams
Tumblr media
Setsuna hopes they'll always be able to help others through the art of the hunt, even if it means traveling the world. But if it comes to that, they hope they'll always be able to come home to Kamura, and be by Utsushi's side. It's more a promise, than a dream.
Tumblr media
Well... There's a chance that Utsushi will make sure he's always by Setsuna's side, whether they like it or not, so the dream of helping others can happen without any worry. For better or worse.

Day 30: Ending Free Space!
Tumblr media
Setsuna's favorite kinsect is a Pseudocath named Hasu. Thank you for reading about my hunter, and sharing the 30-Day meme!
