I had been reading sections of The Canterbury Tales in the original Middle English, but I also listened to part of this New English translation of "The Knight's Tale," and these excerpts coincidentally sounded exactly like Fall Rhian!

But in the last seven lines of the poem she cheers up and marries Palamon, at the command of Theseus. The happiness is described as his:
For now is Palamon in alle wele,
For now is Palamon in complete happiness,
Lyvynge in blisse, in richesse, and in heele,
Living in bliss, in riches, and in health,
And Emelye hym loveth so tendrely,
And Emelye loves him so tenderly,
And he hire serveth so gentilly,
And he serves her so gently,
That nevere was ther no word hem bitwene
That never was there any word between them
Of jalousie or any oother teene.
Of jealousy or any other vexation.

I saw a poll about the best opening line ever and it was kinda a shitty choice so I want to show you my favourite opening lines I’ve written.
The Cat Druid & The Arsonist
“In three years of running the only cat sanctuary in Middle Bresser, I’ve heard a lot of their odd tales about how they ended up there.”
The Way Through the Woods
“It had taken almost a century of denial - and nearly two more of experimentation - before Palamon Keeper accepted it was, in fact, impossible for him to die.”
Nostos and the Filigree Lantern
“The earth opened up on a Tuesday just before noon.”
Dmitry Donne and the Great Lawyer Caper
“Dmitry Donne was twenty-six years of age, a fact he did his best to obfuscate in either direction.”
The Heart of the Garden is a Single Silver Rose
“We must start our story at the end because that is where we must start it.”

Can D2 Guardians Have Kids?
Tumblr media
((this is all from memory with a bit of searching myself))
((im open to corrections, discussions, references, and questions thank you))
((WARNING: SPOILERS AND SOME KINDA OFF THINGS ABOUT BIRTH AND UN BIRTH))
Dear @hive-31real (sorry for being late)
To answer your question:
As far as I know, I don't think so but people have debated about it from what I can read about. I'm on the 'Guardians are possibly Infertile' team.
Specifics on Guardians in relation to children:
The thing that would come to the top of my head would be Zavala. He was the stepfather to Hakim when Zavala was with Safiyah. (I cant find a link video for the cutscene)
There's a small discussion about it on Reddit
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the comment section of the same post, they mention how Saladin's Ghost a couple of times, in the Iron Forerunner Armor Tab.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
From what I'm understanding, Shin Malphur was revived as a 10 year old Gaurdian...? with Jaren's Ghost in Confession of Hope Part 1 & Part 2. They discuss about it in this Reddit Post, and here's his Destinypedia page if that helps. (This is the closest I got relating to a Hunter and Child)
(Other links that might help:) Destiny 2 Lore - The Origins of Shin Malphur! The Child Guardian of Palamon! by My name is Byf
Destiny 2 - THIS CHILD IS ONE OF THE MOST POWERFUL GUARDIANS! by Evaze
Destiny 2 Lore - Can children be Guardians? by Myelin Games
Tumblr media
and here are some reasons why they might even rez a child
Tumblr media Tumblr media
On Theory Food:
People have talked about it whether a Guardian's are rez sterile because they technically died already but it doesn't mean they don't function. (Pretty straightforward)
But for those who do believe that Guardians can reproduce, why we don't see them having kids can be funky:
Some Guardian's believe that you don't get rez with the baby (if your female and pregnant), since your Ghost only has the full data scan of you. So some think Guardians aren't even aware that they conceived considering the action packed lifestyle of Guardians. (Which is a very....cruel thought process to think about)
I acknowledge that there are Guardians who don't die often and even one who hasn't died at all, they live pretty distant lives as far as I know.
Some also argue that Guardians would prefer to not have children, since there is no record of a Human/Awoken/Exo child and the uncertainty of what the outcome may be. There's no guarantee if the child will be blessed by light or if they will be immortal or live long. They could just be born regularly and the toll of that personal connection would be heavy....
Yes, other races, such as the Fallen do have children and make it very well documented. It makes you wonder why big or important figures such as Zavala, Shaxx or Saladin wouldn't have children to grow a form of legacy considering how long they've lived right? You can also say this about other Guardians as well of course.
Tumblr media
If Guardians were capable of having children, the concept of creating a bloodline and a form of legacy would be heavily and even well documented. (Cayde's broken Debt file I'm looking at you)
Even if they were civilians in the City, they would grow to be powerful noticeable elites or nobles, maybe even visiting the Tower occasionally but we don't hear from that. We have had multiple regular non-Guardians such as the Guard's around the tower, Amanda, Eva Levante and Hawethorn.
Tumblr media
(if there's anything more I missed I would appreciate the feedback, thank you :))) )

Stefan/Elena/Damon meta
So at school I read this story at school called “The Knight’s Tale” and it made me think of Elena’s triangle with the Salvatore brothers.
Arctie and Palamon’s quest for “getting” Emily and not realizing considering whether she wants them or not made me think. Like I keep hearing discourse on who would be better the better choice for Elena and about which man “deserves her more”. I’ve heard people saying how Damon “deserves” Elena because he was trying so hard with her and had a hard life and blah blah.
I’ve even heard some SE fans say that Stefan deserves Elena more than Damon. But like what about Elena’s feelings?
Like Arcite was watching Emily from afar and being all lovesick over a girl he never talked to. Then goes as far as become one of her servants to stay close to her. Does that not sound creepy?
Stefan was literally watching Elena without her knowledge, trying to learn everything about her, enrolling in the same school at her because “he couldn’t leave without knowing her”. See some similarities?
Now don’t get me wrong, I love Stelena and I do acknowledge Stefan had his reasons, but looking through Elena’s lens where she’s just trying to live her life and this grown ass man is stalking 16 yr old her (hey, if Damon and Elena’s age can get brought up, I can bring up Stefan and Elena’s). It’s very creepy.
And then Palamon was all determined to “get” Emily and be with her, even though she barely knew him as anything more than Arcite’s cousin. In the vampire diaries, Damon makes the moves on Elena to spite Stefan in s1 even though once again, barely interacted. Also he kept invading her dreams and what not.
That’s all.

"In the evening had been plays, including an adaptation of Geoffrey Chaucer's Knight's Tale, in which two knights, Palamon and Arcite, fight over the love of the beautiful Emily. Before the tournament which will decide her hand, Palamon prays to marry Emily, Arcite prays for victory, and Emily prays to remain unmarried. Arcite wins the tournament for her hand, but is thrown off his horse, dying, and Palamon marries Emily. In the end, all have their prayers answered, except for Emily, who wished to remain a maid. Elizabeth had given a generous gift to the boy who played the unfortunate Emily."
From House of Tudor by Joanne Paul, describing the visit of Elizabeth to Kenilworth in 1575.

Simba (Also known as Siso) Trollhunters Toys
As there is some growing confusion over the various toy sets I'm moving a couple of the threads over here to help out :)
First up is the lesser known but very common toys from the German maker Simba! They are known as Siso in the UK likely because of a copyright clash.
There's three sets of three that are a near constant feature of ebay which are these:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is also how you discover Not!Enrique's name in German is NightErik.
There is also the changeling duo. Nomura has a defunct Amazon listing on the UK and Strickler has multiple photos suggesting at some point they were released just in limited numbers. Thus far no ebay check has flagged them but am keeping an eye out.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This Strickler is unique for having wings as the funko mini variant lost them during production.
There was also a line of light up and talking toys! They have dark beady eyes for the lights so don't be too worried about that.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
There are also two items on a similar theme. This Daylight sword is different from the Palamon version (If in doubt check the packaging!) and the Amulet which is fairly rare.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then we get into wiggly territory. @noehaddock managed to find a 2019 toy catalogue which includes these toys which have not been seen in the wilds. They may have only gotten this far, they might have actually been produced in very limited numbers, that is still being researched at present.
In there is a Hero's Forge playset including Draal to be a bit fancy:
Tumblr media
The boys on bikes, Eclipse!Jim and Toby in his Sturge's reference armour:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And three more light up and sounds toys featuring Toby, Blinky and AAARRRGGHHL
Tumblr media
And that's all the known Simba toys! If you want to check out the post on the Funko toys it is here.

We know Cayde likes spicy ramen. What do you think other guys like to eat?
Please excuse me for taking that long to answer OTL x2
This question really got me Thinking. I even had to discuss this topic with my good cook friend ( ´•ᴗ•ก) (I must say I myself am no food expert, sooo. You've been warned. Don't take this too seriously!)
Tumblr media
I think Andal loves Mexican food, the spicier it is, the better (that also being the reason why he instantly loved spicy ramen when Cayde introduced him to it). His favorite dish is probably chili con carne - it's easy to cook even on the road, tasty, rich and hearty.
Shiro is mostly into seafood imo, also he really likes some Weird taste combos, like fish with oranges, meat with chocolate, etc. Cayde's ramens or Andal's stews also work great for him, though. In general, I think Shiro isn't a fussy eater.
For Tevis I always thought he doesn't pay much attention to what exactly he's eating, nor does he care. If it's not one of those things he hates - like spicy ramen. Or spicy food in general. If he ate even one spoon of what Andal normally cooks for himself & Cayde, he probably would've died on spot. He has one big love too - awfully chemical sweet flavors, like bubblegum or tutti frutti.
Shin, as always, is the most complex one, as his food preferences depend on which one of his personas we're talking about. Since Shin’s own parents (both biological and most likely the first adoptive) seem to be of Asian origin, I suppose they kept their native culinary traditions and used whatever ingredients they could as a substitute in Palamon. So slightly weird dishes like fried oat or oatmeal pies are Shin’s favorites. Orsa is on par with Teben and they both eat everything that lives in seas and swamps (including not the Earth ones, iykwim) - octopuses, oysters, mussels, scallops, frogs, etc. As for Renegade, as both of his other identities don’t eat much, he enjoys eating whatever is within his reach. Pies, sandwiches or fried chicken are the most preferred options!

I'm in a desperate NEED for help cause I've recently developed an inconmensurable attachment for my boy Shin Malphur but I do not have A Single Clue regarding wHeRe to start reading about him! So if you'd recommend me some lore tabs I'd be more than grateful. It's completely understandable if for any reason you don't want to / can't, though. Drink your water and live your life!
Shin Malphur 👀 I like him :) There's also A LOT of lore about him, especially for someone who never appeared in the game.
First the most important is the lore about Dredgen Yor and Jaren Ward because that's what makes Shin. Dredgen Yor was the infamous Guardian turned Guardian-killer wielding the Light-consuming weapon of sorrow, Thorn. He was being hunted by Jaren Ward, a Hunter, who wanted to put an end to Yor's killing spree. In his hunt, Jaren found a young boy, Shin, and took him under his wing.
How Rezyl Azzir turned into Dredgen Yor: 1, 2, 3 Rise of Dredgen Yor: 1, 2, 3
When Jaren lost his duel to Dredgen Yor, Jaren's Ghost gave the Light to Shin, as well as giving him Jaren's signature weapon, The Last Word and then Shin continued the hunt for Yor.
About Shin's childhood, Jaren and Yor's defeat: 1, 2, 3, 4 Jaren's message to Shin attached to The Last Word
Shin ended up defeating Yor, but his hunt for rogue Guardians wasn't over. He founded the Shadows of Yor under a disguise to lure corrupt, rogue and overall bad Guardians to follow him so he can monitor them and kill them if he has to.
He also teamed up with the Drifter (who was a member of the Shadows of Yor for a while until he decided it wasn't for him) to create Gambit. Why? Well, at first, Shin was monitoring for rogue Guardians in the Crucible. Who is acting especially sadistic or cruel, who isn't complying by the rules, stuff like that. But the Crucible is where Guardians go to kill each other! A lot of people are going to act cruel. It wasn't the best way to make sure.
Therefore Gambit. A game where Guardians are given powers of Darkness to play with and are more susceptible to reveal themselves as corrupt (especially through the concept of invasions: Guardians who invade more often and for no reason are more likely to be tempted and corrupted).
Lore book about Shin's observations of Drifter (and coming up with the plan) Lore book about a lot of the stuff in regards to Shadows of Yor and other details, but most importantly Shin revealing that he was the one who founded it Lore book for us after we earn The Last Word (that details the whole plan about shutting down Shadows of Yor and weeding out those that were genuinely members because they were corrupted) Lore book for us again after Shin decides to retire
Shin is unique in many ways as a Guardian, given that he received someone else's Ghost as his Ghost and didn't have to die to get it. However, we do get a tiny hint as to why this was possible in Ghost Stories lore book: Confession of Hope Part One and Confession of Hope Part Two details a story about a Ghost that couldn't bear to see a family lose their baby (which died in a Fallen raid) and gave that baby its Light. That Ghost went on to die, and the baby's family died as well and the baby was adopted in the village called Palamon and was named Shin.
That's why Shin calls Jaren his "third father": the first was his biological father, the second was the one that adopted him in Palamon and Jaren was the third. Shin died as a baby and was resurrected by a Ghost which then later died. So Shin had the Light but not his original Ghost (which presumably allowed him to age normally). So later he gets adopted by Jaren's Ghost and didn't have to die for it because he already did die once before and already had the Light in him.
Also if you have an hour and a half to spare, most of this is told in a sort of cinematic way by Byf on youtube.
I hope this helps and that it isn't too confusing! It's a bit rough putting it all in vaguely chronological sense given that Destiny timeline is the way it is. But these are the most important lore mentions and lore books about him.

The Way Through the Woods by Bodhrán M.
PROLOGUE
It had taken almost a century of denial – and nearly two more of experimentation – before Palamon Keeper accepted it was, in fact, impossible for him to die.
He couldn’t seem to maintain an injury either. Yes, he bled and bones broke, but the skin and sinew always knitted itself back together again in a matter of days without a single scar to be seen. Trying to drown himself achieved nothing more than informing him that his lung capacity was the same as it had ever been, but now he’d trap himself in a never-ending cycle of gasping pain and unconsciousness until he ran out of river.
Poison caused him to vomit. Slitting his wrists just ruined his rug. A noose was somehow simultaneously excruciatingly painful and tedious.
(Luckily, he’d tried that one when people had still come through the forest of their own accord: otherwise, he’d have been stuck there for longer than just a week.)
Eventually, when he’d hit what he believed to be the three-hundredth year of immortality, he’d just… given up.
Palamon Keeper had lit a little fire in his little hearth in his little cabin and cooked his dinner like it was any other day and conceded: the forest was his home.
As it had been before, and now would be forever after.
And, perhaps, that would have been enough for him to bear.
But, of course, the gentry of fate always have other plans.
