The most heartwrenchingly painful moment of the episode for me - grandmother telling Sam that she'd do anything to make her happy while Sam is literally sobbing from how unhappy she is
thank you Mika π I love this family so much I can't stop thinking about them and making up silly little scenarios in my head

1. How do they feel about raising kids? Who broaches the topic first?
No one really broaches the topic directly. Maul does accidentally. Somehow he witnesses Shireen being good with children. And he talks about how it might be for the better that they can't have children (yk he's missing his whole lower body) because his own children would probably be scared of him. Not exactly true. Due to Shireen's funny alien biology it is possible for them to have kids. And obviously she knows their kids would adore him. So, they eventually decide to have a child. Shireen is excited, while Maul is not-so-lowkey nervous.
9. Whatβs their favorite way to spend time with their kids? Do they enjoy spending time with them?
Training and teaching and they spend a lot of time doing that. And that includes so much, like teaching them different languages, about their respective cultures and telling them so many stories about their pasts among other things. They're all very close, so they do enjoy spending time with each other. Shireen and Maul in particular because they've both been alone for such a long time.
19. What do the kids call their parents?
In basic they call them "mother" and "father". In the language of Shireen's species (I still haven't decided on a name yet rip) they use the word "Ta'vaas" for father and "Ma'shaa", the informal word for mother. Alternatively, the younger ones, Hinah, Zaahβdih and Konag also use the diminutives βaβmaβ and βaβtaβ.Β They also occasionally use "buir" (mother) for Shireen when they speak Mando'a with her. It also means father but they rarely ever use that when speaking to Maul.
21. Which parent do the kids seek out for comfort when theyβre scared?Β
This question is always hard to answer. I can see them all seek out either of them, depends on who's closer? lmao. I guess they seek out Shireen first. For Saniyah and Konag specifically because of the whole mindset of not wanting to appear as weak or scared and disappoint Maul? Not that he ever gave them a reason to believe that. They're just a little insecure.
25. Are they the type of parents to boast about their kidsβ achievements?
Shireen lowkey does. But she does it so casually that other people won't really notice she's boasting. Maul only does when he's threatening or trying to intimidate someone, BUT that does not happen until they're old enough to fight.
that post that's like there's nothing inherently more difficult about sitting down to read a book, than there is to scroll on your phone. tell me you've never spoken to a disabled person in your life without telling me you've never spoken to a disabled person in your life. yes i am salty that the chronic illness is chronic illnessing to the point that i haven't been able to read in days and what about it!!!!
