I said last night we should talk about tattooing runes and sigils on your body, so here it is; (Note, the reference pictures I’m using I found Pinterest and best visually describe what I’m trying to convey)

Tattooing in itself is an ancient ritual that dates back to indigenous people, my people have been telling stories on skin with ink for thousands of years. That being said when you get a tattoo you bleed, and your blood is a form of your life force, your energy, a signature not just of your energy but of your DNA. We tend to get tattoos of things we like or something that has meaning to us, however it started as a way to document warriors, spirits, deities, and of course magick, these markings were significant to each tribe and custom to the person wearing them. How does that translate now into tattooing sigils and runes of your body? Well I’m gonna tell ya,

Blood magic

Tattooing is a form of blood magic, which isn’t as scary as it sounds. It’s simply put a form of magic that is stronger because a part of your DNA is used. So if you were to tattoo say a protection rune or sigil on your body it would draw it’s power from you directly, we trace invisible sigils or runes on use when we need to use them so the same quote rule and quote would apply here. When you need the power of the sigil or rune you’d simply finger trace over the tattoo to activate it. As mentioned up top it would draw from your own energy so, depending on how powerful the sigil or rune is you May feel dizzy, or get a headache. It’s something to keep in mind if you’re considering getting them tattooed. You can always temporarily draw it on your skin and see how it vibes with you before you get it permanently.

Choosing an artist

You’ve decided to get a sigil/Rune tattoo, amazing now you need to pick an artist carefully. If you’re not tattooing yourself (which I don’t recommend unless you know what you’re doing) choosing an artist is highly important not just to find someone willing to do the design but because let’s be real some people’s energy is highly crusty. You absolutely DO NOT want someone with off vibes tattooing you, especially tattooing something as energy heavy and important as a Rune or sigil. I recommend checking out each tattoo shop and artist available and feeling out the vibe, LISTEN TO YOUR INTUITION!

Color magic

If you want you can use color magic when deciding what rune/sigil you wish to have tattooed. Say you really wanted a pink tattoo, you’d find a rune/sigil that corresponds with what energy pink brings. You don’t have to do this of course, you can choose any color, rune, sigil you want.

Note, the picture shows large runes tattooed all over the body, YOU DO NOT have to have runes/sigils tattooed all over your body, YOU DO NOT have to have them large. YOU CAN have them any size, any color, any location that you so wish. YOU CAN even incorporate them into your next tattoo piece, which would look rad in my opinion. Work with your tattoo artist to figure out what you like best.

REMEMBER THE PICTURE IS JUST AN EXAMPLE OF WHAT A TATTOOED RUNE OR SIGIL MIGHT LOOK LIKE FOR THOSE WHO NEED A VISUAL. Once again I found the picture on Pinterest under ‘rune/sigil tattoos’

🌕 Full Moon: The full moon is the most powerful phase for manifesting and spellcasting. This is a time to release what no longer serves you and call in abundance and prosperity. It’s also a good time to charge your crystals and divination tools.

🌖 Waning Gibbous: During the waning gibbous phase, it’s a good time to let go of bad habits, negative emotions, and toxic relationships. This phase is also good for divination and reflection.

🌗 Third Quarter: This phase is associated with banishing and removing obstacles. It’s a good time to cut cords with people or situations that are holding you back. You can also use this phase to gain clarity and perspective.

🌘 Waning Crescent: This is a time for rest and reflection. Use this phase to recharge and connect with your intuition. It’s also a good time to work on dream magic.

🌑 New Moon: The new moon is a time for new beginnings and setting intentions. This is a good time to start a new project, set goals, or plan for the future. It’s also a good time to cleanse and charge your space.

🌒 Waxing Crescent: During the waxing crescent phase, focus on growth and progress. This is a good time to work on self-improvement, learn a new skill, or work on a project that requires creativity.

🌓 First Quarter: This phase is associated with taking action and making progress. Use this phase to tackle challenges and work towards your goals. It’s also a good time to charge your tools and talismans.

🌔 Waxing Gibbous: The waxing gibbous phase is a time for gratitude and manifestation. This is a good time to express gratitude for what you have and work towards your goals with confidence and determination.

I will always be a huge supporter of the idea that if you practice witchcraft, it is incredibly important that you also study - and it can be self study! - sciences. Maybe it's just because I'm a stem nerd at heart, but studying science will not only help your craft, but will help keep you grounded in reality as well. More and more scientists are writing books in prose for the general population, ED-x and Coursera allow for you to take free classes, z-library has all the textbooks you could ever want. Science helps inform the craft. A lot of what we're doing is connecting to the universe and, if you follow the psychological model, is actually rather scientific in nature. I'm not saying you need to become an expert in theoretical physics, but reading books about physics and chemistry and psychology will be incredibly useful to you and your craft, and you might even find that you love it! My Stephen Hawking collection is my pride and joy, I love the fact that I own all of his books, and have read them. A lot of people become convinced that when it comes to witchcraft and science, it needs to be one or the other, but that isn't the case! One can inform the other.

What is meditation to you?

I personally have a connection to meditation through doing all of the above throughout the week. Sometimes I don’t have time to sit down and relax, so I meditate through doing house chores. Sometimes at work, when I’m feeling incredibly stressed, I take a moment to breathe a couple of deep breaths and easing the tensions in the body. So what style do you prefer? 🧘‍♀️

𖤣𖥧˚ Eclecticism & Norse Paganism

I'm an eclectic pagan, exploring various paths without limiting myself to one. I study and incorporate different practices, always respecting closed traditions. While I'm drawn to Heathenry/Norse, it's not my exclusive focus. I enjoy learning and delving into different aspects of paganism. And always have kept it as so.

𖤣𖥧˚ Witchcraft

I am a witch or occultist, but I prefer not to be confined by additional labels. It's important to note that being a witch doesn't automatically make me Wiccan, as the two are distinct. In my practice, I often engage in divination through tarot and oracle readings. However, it's crucial to understand that these readings are typically broad in nature, and I don't claim to predict the future, as the future is not set in stone.

Occasionally, I also utilize pendulums for energy guidance and confirmation. I also try to read runes or practice "bindrune" or "bandrún". Working with herbs is another aspect of my craft, whether it involves incorporating them into food, tea, or other things, all with specific intentions and goals in mind. I might at times have spirits that communicate or show visuals of what they wish to explain. That is as much as I will share for now.

𖤣𖥧˚ Polytheism

Being deeply polytheistic, I embrace a broad spectrum of divine beings instead of confining myself to a single pantheon. My belief system centres on the existence of multiple deities rather than a solitary one. However, this does not mean I pray to all, rather I try to build a relationship with a couple that I have shown interest in and or take interest in working with me. Similar to human relationships, building a connection is vital.

𖤣𖥧˚ Animism

In animism, a belief system I hold, it is my conviction that every object, place, and living being harbours a spiritual essence. The encompassing range includes majestic mountains, graceful trees, delicate plants, gentle deer, solid stones, cascading waterfalls, and countless others. Rather than opposing or disrespecting these entities, I advocate for demonstrating honour and appreciation for them.

𖤣𖥧˚ Reincarnation

I hold a belief in reincarnation, although I am still in the process of solidifying my understanding of it. In essence, I believe in the concept of past lives and the cycle of rebirth. However, I don't find myself particularly drawn to the idea of "enlightenment."

Caution must be exercised when dealing with individuals who manipulate symbols of peace and twist them to suit their own distorted ideals or propagate the notion that certain deities reject specific races. Such individuals have already corrupted aspects of paganism and its symbols. It is crucial to be mindful and vigilant when encountering people like this, as I have seen it quite a bit.

𖤣𖥧˚ I will NOT interact with someone who believes that paganism and witchcraft/the occult are evil or "satanic".

Before engaging in fear-mongering and spewing hate, it is crucial to conduct thorough research on topics such as the occult, Satanism, and various practices. This applies not only to those with differing beliefs but also to individuals who may share similar practices as you (possibly).
