before we get started, there’s some things that are going to be pointed out here (plz read they are very important):

if you’d like to ask padme or the mun anything, use my ask box! it is open for those specific reasons! just make sure to clarify if you are asking padme or mun

im pretty much cool with everything as long as it doesnt involve any nsfw stuff (gore & stuff is fine, im referring to smut)

c. a diplomatic mission gone wrong when a terrible virus breaks out in the planet. with the ship pulled to pieces and we are stranded on the planet, how will we survive and rebuild the ship to get off world and warn the other planets?

d. it’s a diplomatic mission to bring a planet to the side of the republic, but something goes wrong. dooku has brought his army to stop the planet from joining the republic and we get caught in the crossfire! negotiations are made and dooku has proposed a challenge for us to complete. if successfully completed, the planet may host a republic base. if lost, the planet goes to the separatists.

final verdict (obvi all of the eps were fantastic but my rankings are):

phantom apprentice > old friends not forgotten > shattered > victory and death

explanation and spoilers under the cut

victory and death was just SO sad i dont think ill ever b able to rewatch it. that doesnt make it worse, obviously, but i just caaaaaant like physically cant deal. its too sad. im glad it was sad! i love when media makes me cry. the episode ended and i just fuckin broke down and sobbed for like half an hour. like.... dave cudve given us some happy? or a sliver of hope. maybe if we didnt KNOW that rex and ahsoka were going to survive then the fact that they survived would have been hopeful but since we already KNEW.... idk. just the fact that her WHOLE battalion died is too sad. i guess like. darth maul got a happy ending. even in revenge of the sith it was like “anakins kids are a new hope!” but here we got NONE of that. it kind of had to be like that i guess. anakin being vader was set in stone since 1980. but like... cmon dave. u cudve changed it. we wudntve been mad. it was also just really short, and im sure that wont be an issue when i watch this arc all together as a movie, but it was just SUPER short. maybe this one will move up in my list after i’ve had some time to process it all.

shattered was also really good. my my new favorite thing ever is ahsoka and maul’s interaction bcuz that was comedy GOLD. i liked that at least ahsoka knew WHY the clones turned on her, which is guess makes it a little happier bcuz the rest of the jedi like obi-wan still have no idea what happened. ugh it was still a lot tho. liked her last convo with bo and with the jedi council. and ahsoka and maul’s vision of anakin was rly cool. i think my biggest issue (which is not even that huge of an issue) with these last 2 eps is that if felt pretty claustrophobic and monotonous bcuz it was mostly set on this one ship.

old friends not forgotten was basically perfect. i think anakin and ahsokas reuinion was done really well, though i still wished they had hugged. :(. the opening with anakin and obi-wan when i first watched the episode didn’t really resonate with me but now, knowing that that’s essentially ALL we get of them in this whole arc, im really really that thats there and i like it a whole lot more now. ugh i miss them. its so sad. ahsokas argument with obi-wan was also really good. i like how you can take either side because theyre both sort of right and sort of wrong. the action sequence with ahsoka landing on mandalore is, i still think so, the BEST action sequence in all of star wars. im so proud of my girl. perfect way to start the last arc of the show and remind us of everything we are about to lose. it ties into revenge of the sith really well, i think even better than these other ones. the fact that we KNOW what’s going to happen to these characters is what makes this episode, especially because that knowledge is kind of a hindrance to the other episodes in this arc.

phantom apprentice is literally a perfect episode. there is so much to love about this. it is actually PEAK star wars. like this is the best its gonna get. why cudnt the sequels be this good? also... none of it was set on a ship which was nice. theres really nothing i dislike about this episode so ill just talk about everything that was great about it. the set pieces were beautiful, highlighted by the gorgeous animation, the fight choreography was amazing and it really felt like it was 2 real people (which is was) who KNEW what they were doing and were actually trying to kill each other, again, every interaction with ahsoka and maul was perfect, they really made his character SO interesting by making him like... right? about everything. like he actually wanted to save the galaxy, thats really interesting. ahsoka SHOULD have joined him but thats the whole point. she has too much faith in anakin. on that note, i loved how much they talked about anakin. I loved ahsoka’s conversation with obi-wan this one also is really good at tying in with revenge of the sith, and showing how these stories happen simultaneously. the other good thing about this is that we DONT know what happens at all. in the other episodes we at least have an IDEA of whats going to happen, but ahsoka and mauls story here is completely new. this is all new information. there was even a bit of politics in there with bo and ahsoka about the siege. but ya overall id say maul is what makes this episode so incredible. he’s just great in this one. im so glad this episode exists because now i can definitively say that i have a favorite clone wars episode.

conclusion: i just wish i couldve gotten into a show that has a happy ending. why does the ONE series that im so in love with have the saddest ending possible??? i really hate to think about this but.... this series might have just been better with a happy ending. it may have been more fun to see our faves overcome all of these obstacles, even if it was hard. obvi the jedi order would have to go through some reforms, but if the series had ended with at least anakin, ahsoka, padme, obi-wan, rex, and the clones being TOGETHER, that may have actually been better than a tragic ending. i think anakin and ahsoka’s relationship is really the heart of this series, and what reeeaaally hits is them both thinking the other is dead at the end of this series, only to meet later as enemies. it’s just so sad. dave, what do you have to say for yourself?

10. Mary Yellan-Jamaica Inn. I mean honestly? Everyone from Jamaica Inn. Except you albino man. Never you. But I just love Mary. In a world where she doesn’t have a lot of say in her own future, she says nah screw that I do what I want. She had beliefs and she stuck with them and when the time came and her beliefs were challenged and pushed, she grew and adapted and changed. Love Mary Yellan.

09. Meggie Folchart-Inkheart. Lets be real here. I wanted to be Meggie when I was a kid. I STILL want to be Meggie. She was such a cool character, and I could gush about Inkheart forever. Read it. Learn it. Become it. Thank me later.

08. Richard Rahl-Sword of Truth. My mans faced some tough shit. Son of an evil man? Check. Part of a prophecy he wanted nothing to do with? Check. Cant be with the woman he loves 99% of the series? Check. And all he wants is to pursue truth, justice, and the non-American way. Let him LIVE for crying out loud!

07. Peeta Mellark-The Hunger Games. THIS BOY JUST WANTS TO LOVE KATNISS AND BE LOVED AND BAKE AND BE HAPPY AND WHAT DOES HE GET INSTEAD? TORTURE. CONDITIONING. UNCONTROLLABLE ANGER. BLACKOUTS. NOT KNOWING WHATS REAL OR NOT REAL. I mean, okay sure, he EVENTUALLY gets a TROUBLED happiness with Katniss. but the poor boy just wants to LOVE.

06. Ian Malcolm-Jurassic Park. THIS MAN. JUST WANTED. TO NOT DIE. and yes, he does not die. BUT HE CAME REAL CLOSE. HE WAS SMARTER THAN JOHN HAMMOND THATS FOR FREAKING SURE. MY HUSBAND THROUGH THICK AND THIN. LIFE FINDS A WAY BABY.

05. Sorsha-Willow. THIS BINCH WAS SO MEAN AND THEN SHE MET MADMARTIGAN WHO SHE FELL IN LOVE WITH AND THEN SHE WAS LIKE BYE MOM u suck im joining the rebels and tbh same? I’d abandon everything for Madmartigan too.

04. Scarlet Benoit-The Lunar Chronicles. Scarlet is a judgmental and salty bitch most of Scarlet and I was like ooo girl me too. She’s my bae because she’s me.

03. Donna Sheridan-Mamma Mia. SHE HAD A DREAM. A SONG TO SING. TO HELP HER COPE. WITH ANYTHING. Mamma Mia 2 changed me and I love her and I want to be her. I want to run away to Greece and have three men fawn over me. I’m not asking for much. Just an abandoned farm house and specifically young Bill. I’ll take my love affair, thanks.

02. Clark Kent and Lois Lane.-Superman. They count as one because they are inseparable and anyone who tries to tell you otherwise is wrong and breaking the law so they should be in jail when you think about it. I love them and want them to be happy always because their moral compass is better than all of ours and the love they have for each other is unconditional and pure. Fight me.

Anne Shirley-Anne of Green Gables. Anne is my kindred spirit. Or rather, Anne is me. When I first read Anne of Green Gables when I was 7 years old, it was a profound experience because there in the pages of a book was a character who I related to in so many ways. Anne loves with her whole heart. Every fiber of her is in love with someone or something at all times. Anne has an imagination that carries her through heartbreak and sorrow, but she can still find a smile in a daydream. Anne writes passionately, and shes stubborn to a fault. She’s loud, she’s out there, and good god Anne is me. As a child I was THRILLED to find Anne because everything I thought was weird about me was what made Anne beautiful. I was able to find my own confidence because of Anne and that’s the greatest gift any ‘character’ could give.

“Are you alright?” asked Anakin. His eyebrows creased together in worry, his hands steady on Padmé’s arms. “You’re trembling.”

She gave him a smile that was meant to be reassuring, but looked more uncertain. “I’m fine,” she said, but she could tell Anakin was not entirely convinced. “I’m just excited. I… I have news,” she explained, “but I want to tell you both at the same time.” Now her smile was genuine enough that it had Anakin smiling in return.

“Well, as long as you’re alright…” he laughed.

“I’m fine,” she said with a grin, then added more seriously, “it’s the two of you I’m worried about.”

Anakin looked down at his feet, still holding her hands in his. “We’re fine, Padmé… Well,” he amended, “Obi-wan might have a concussion, but he’s getting checked by the healers as soon as he’s reported to the Council.”

Obi-wan had hardly taken two steps into the apartment before Padme was across the room and throwing her arms around him. “Obi-wan! Oh, I’ve missed you!” she exclaimed. Anakin was right behind her, giving him a quick embrace before letting Padme have her moment. “Ani said you might have a concussion, are you alright?” She pulled away just enough to inspect him for injury, worry written on her features.

“Just a bump on the head,” he replied, pressing a kiss to her cheek. “Nothing to worry about; I’ve missed you too.”

“You were knocked out for a good while,” Anakin said seriously. Padme gave a Obi-wan a concerned look, but he only rolled his eyes fondly at their worry.

“I’m just happy you’re both alive,” Padmé sighed, stepping forward and taking one of their hands in each of hers. “There’s something I have to tell you.”

She took a deep breath. This was the moment of truth, the moment everything would become real.

“I’m pregnant.”

She met both of their eyes in turn as she announced it, but found herself unable to maintain eye contact with either. She glanced down at her belly, and past it to the floor, and when she looked back up Anakin was watching her in awe and disbelief.. Obi-wan’s face was harder to read. That was fine, she told herself. She knew it just meant he was actually thinking over the ramifications.

“Padme…” Anakin breathed, “that’s wonderful.” His shocked expression broke into a delighted grin. “That’s wonderful!” he repeated, quickly untangling his hand from hers to place it on the swell of her stomach, looking at it as if it really were the most wonderful thing in the world. He looked back up at her with a blinding grin, and she couldn’t help but smile back at him, feeling relieved even as tears shone in her eyes.

“This changes everything,” Obi-wan murmured, drawing their attention and causing their smiles to falter. Slowly, almost hesitantly, he moved to place his hand on her belly next to Anakin’s. “How far along are you?” he asked softly.

“Five months,” she admitted, her arms coming to rest protectively around her stomach, a new nervous habit that she tried to hide in public. But now she was with her husbands– she was with her husbands and they knew, and she allowed her fingers to curl over Obi-wan’s hand. “What are we going to do?” she asked, her gaze moving anxiously between the two of them. After months of holding it together, her composure was finally starting to crack under the pressure.

For a moment, they both were silent. Obi-wan squeezed her hand reassuringly, his expression thoughtful as his other hand went to his chin to stroke his beard.

“We’re not going to do anything right now,” Anakin declared. “This is a happy moment.”

Obi-wan’s jaw set in the way that meant he didn’t entirely approve of what Anakin was saying, but his entire demeanor softened as Padmé let out a shaky sigh of relief.

“We will figure something out, Padmé,” he assured her. “Everything will be all right.”

A Definitive Ranking Of 2000s Rom Coms

Although people who peaked in high school like to act poetic about how great the 2000s were, they werent actually any better than the present day. I mean, it was a time when Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake wore matching denim outfits in public and nobody carted them off to an insane asylum.

But Im prepared to make a concession on two points: 1) At least we werent under the administration of a sentient slime mold wearing a bad wig. 2) The 2000s were a golden age for romantic comedies, mostly thanks to Judy Greers tireless efforts to play every heroines best friend. Plus, only like half the jokes were sexist, and there was about an 80% chance pre-pretentious Matthew McConaughey would show up.

Obviously, a betch has to be picky about her rom-comssome are shitty in a good way, but others are best avoided in case someone catches you watching them. To guide your Netflix viewings, here’s a totally objective list of 00s rom coms. If you disagree, which Im sure everyone will, please note that Im not actually forcing you to watch these movies; Im just saying that if you regularly watch any of the bottom five, you have terrible taste.

is considered a modern classic by two groups of people. 1) men in their late 20s with a crush on Natalie Portman and a thriving quarter-life crisis and 2) 8th graders in 2004 under the assumption that any movie that features a Shins track in its soundtrack is automatically deep. To everyone else, its a film about self-absorbed white people whining about their lives until theyre magically fixed by the power of mixtapes. There are approximately a zillion issues with this film, beginning with Zach Braffs complete lack of expression and ending with the fact that you cant cure real depression by listening to The Shins, no matter how clearly superior the soundtrack is to anything else in this film. Worst of all, though, is the fact that Natalie Portman played a manic pixie dream girl so obnoxious I still dream about strangling her character sometimes. Padme deserves so much better.

Im not saying romantic comedies have to make much sense, but s plot is mystifying. Matthew McConaugheys parents are tired of him living at home, so they call in a lady high class escort (Sarah Jessica Parker) whose job is literally seducing men into moving out of their parents basements and unceremoniously dumping them. Because that’s plausible, and not at all fucked up to force your son to fall in love with someone you’re paying. Ridiculous premise aside, you know a movie is terrible when famed nicegirl Zooey Deschanel is the best thing about it.

12. Monster-in-Law

In case you missed this one, and for your sake I hope you did, is about Jane Fonda inexplicably being terrible to Jennifer Lopez, who walks a lot of dogs and is engaged to Fondas son. That right there should tell you all you need to knowI cannot think of one movie that JLo was in that was anything above mild torture, and we’re supposed to root for her character why, exactly? If my son was engaged to a full-time dog walker you can best believe I’d do everything short of actual murder to put a stop to that bullshit.

Im told some people love this movie, but Jesus fucking Christ, is it possible for the two main characters to be any more appalling? Here you have two assholes manipulating the shit out of each other and just generally acting psychotic, all to win a stupid bet with their friends. They really should call it “How To Act Like A Psychopath And Lose Your Dignity.”

Not gonna lie, I fucking adored when I was an impressionable preteen. It had time travel! Mark Ruffalo! A makeover scene! Years later, the movie is still fun to watch, even if it is way too obsessed with the 80s, but the jokes are more cute than funny. Also, why would anyone allow their 13-year-old child to go to a sleepover hosted by a 30-year-old? That is … questionable to say the least. Not to mention Jennifer Garner’s character does a reverse transformation from a betch into a nicegirl and dumps her hot pro bf in favor of her formerly fat friend. Blah blah, true love, I don’t give a fuck. Tenth.

is close to being wrapped in cutesy narration, but it’s far superior. For one thing, it reintroduced the world to Joseph Gordon-Levitts dimples. For another, it manages to be a fairly realistic depiction of a shitty millennial relationship without being super fucking depressing. But thats also kind of the problemrom coms arent supposed to be realistic, theyre supposed to be clich and feel-good, and I don’t care what you say, Summer is a thot. I have literally stayed up at night mapping how she could have possibly met someone worthy of engagement a mere 118 days after she broke up with Tom, and only six days after attending a wedding as his guest (yes I did the mathI told you; this movie keeps me up at night). No matter how you slice it, she had to have cheated on somebody.

Full disclosure: As a Southern betch, Im stoked that takes place right next door. (Dear Hollywood: An entire country exists between New York and LA.) But even though it features Patrick Dempsey as the other man, Josh Lucas with a dreamy Southern accent, and Reese Witherspoon, there are still some issues. Mainly, WTF WERE YOU THINKING, MELANIE? Did you really dump your future president fianc for your secret redneck husband just so “the first boy you kissed could also be your last”? I’ve heard of trying to keep your number down, but damn if this isn’t some delusional shit.

Everyone on planet Earth can relate to having a batshit crazy family, and thats exactly what makes appealing. The two leads are fine, considering they’re not Kate Hudson or Matthew McConaughey, but the extended family is everyones favorite part of the movie. Honestly the most memorable moment to come out of this movie is the “put some Windex on it”pretty good deal for Windex, not so much for the people who actually starred in the movie. However, it does get points for the memorable line: “The man may be the head of the household, but the woman is the neck and she can turn the head any way she pleases.”

The plot is pretty flimsy (a Canadian businesswoman has to marry her assistant to avoid deportation) but everyone loves a story where the couple starts out hating each other and eventually falls in love. The cast is what makes this movie pure rom com gold: Sandra Bullock, Ryan Reynolds, and Betty fucking White, who gifted us with the infamous Native American dance scene. Basically, it’s predictable but ridiculous, making it better than some of the other garbage movies on this list.

Admittedly, is probably to blame for some of the chubby man-child/beautiful, svelte woman couplings we see in the media that give men unrealistic beauty expectations (of the types of women they can expect to date), otherwise known as The Beyonc/Jay Z Phenomenon. But whatevs. Its a good movie. Seth Rogen has that whole dad bod thing going onapparently a thing some people are intoand Katherine Heigl was at the top of her rom com game before she pissed off the entire cast of .is actually hilarious, which is enough to make up for the fact that Katherine Heigl appears in it.

Even aside from my undeniable crush on youthful Sandra Bullock, is a quintessential early-2000s romantic comedy. Allow me to explain. 1) It stars an ambitious career woman who dont need no man. 2) But she kind of wants one anyway, and everyone realizes what a catch she is when she puts on lipstick and a dress. 3) Did I mention its plot is literally an extended makeover scene as Bullock goes from bad ass FBI agent to bad ass beauty pageant contestant? I rest my case. Add in some cute female friendships and a scene in which Bullock teaches us how to fend off an attacker, and its basically required viewing every year.

You had to know was going to make the list despite this amazing take-down article of why it’s actually terrible. With approximately a bajillion storylines going on, its hard not to find one you like and get invested, and it doesnt hurt that the film features every well-known British actor under the sun. Im not sure how the movie manages to juggle all the different plots without being confusing and/or boring, but Im not gonna question it. However, this shit is TOO FUCKING LONG. If I have to pop an Adderall just to make it through a damn movie (which I do), you need to send your editors back to the drawing board.

is the perfect example of a rom com thats super clich in theory, but in practice, its so fucking heartwarming it doesnt even matter (ugh). Katherine Heigl plays ultimate nicegirl Jane (in case the fact that her name is “Jane” wasn’t enough of a clue), whos been part of 27 weddings and miraculously hasnt gone broke from buying all the bridesmaid dresses. The dudes are pretty forgettable, but Janes psychotic sister and slutty best friend totally steal the spotlight, elevating the film to truly betchy heights.

P.S. For once, James Marsden plays the leading man, so his preternaturally perfect face gets more screen time, #bless.

Bridget Joness Diary is the ultimate feel-good movie, as in its literally impossible to watch it without feeling your icy soul thaw ever so slightly at the end. The titular character starts out fat, single, and past the age of 30, so basically our worst nightmare. By the end, though, she manages to bang Hugh Grant and Colin Firth, land a better job, and become a self-described wanton sex goddess. If those arent your life goals, you clearly need to start your own self-help journey.
