i love going back through old writing from when i was a teenager and just being in love just in love. i love these words i love the love that wrote them. i love that these stories compelled me so deeply i thought and wrote about them for years already and will do so for years more. i love that they were trailheads on journeys i didn't yet know i was taking. ideas i followed in curiosity to see what else i could find where they led me. i love that people i've been thinking about for years still draw me into them because i put so much of myself inside them- before i even knew it was me. i sang into a vastness and my own voice echoed back to me over and over. i laid down truths i would learn to live by. there has always been delight and wisdom in the things i wrote. the child wrote in joy and when i read and write in joy i am with again the child. you know?

I have not stopped thinking about Hozier’s Abstract (Psychopomp) from Unreal Unearth, and decided to write about how this song makes me feel. So here’s a little something.
—————————————————————
It stared at the odd creature on its hind legs moving closer, what it could not know as hands outreached, closer, towards its limp body - the moonlight above, a halo shone as it closed its eyes.
As I reached forward with trembling hands into the dark illuminated only by the soft glow of the moon above, I noticed its soft pleading eyes almost glistening with the tears I had caused, a pain I could only hope to end mercifully.
And in those eyes I saw my own life like a mirror shattered on the ground. I saw my hands over my face as I weeped for the life I have always wanted, and for the life my parents deserved. I am walking hand in hand with my mother as she tries to give her child something to be excited about. My father’s hands are out and is struggling to stay afloat. The cruel world takes everything, it leaves you begging and a silent prayer is casted in the hopes that others will answer. They both survive and cling on to that hope, that I will grow to never face the harshness they had endured. Who am I to deny them an existence that is free from the cruel reality of the world, even if it means being trapped in moments that was not my own doing to begin with?
In those eyes I saw lips on my own. Hands intertwined in secret, bodies pressing and tears I would shed for months to come in hopes that the words will finally escape your mouth again. The pain that turned to anger has now diminished from my mind, as I look back into those moments of shared proximity and spaces from a distance I cannot understand to be my own. I cling to memories that shone and try to not detach my soul from something that shaped me into who I am. I am content with being grateful of the experience, and yet struggle to understand how two hands that fit well into one another can now feel like a speck of dust blown away by the wind.
In those eyes I see my whole life before me. I am stuck in moments I cannot relive. Beautiful moments I cannot remember and terrible ones I struggle to forget. Memories that hurt and healed, come flooding through my head as I kneel on the tarred road, soaking wet. The light from the moon still shines and whispers an embrace of comfort that gives me the strength to carry it off the ground. A new light blinds and my ears are filled with the threat of my life being taken away from me. I have so much to live for and once this memory ceases to matter, it will come again in pieces to remind me of why I needed to live like it didn’t. I choose to not let it suffer anymore and lay it on the side of the road, away from harm and away from the world. I wipe my tears with the sleeves of my bloodstained sweater as I watch it from my mirror. It finally closes its eyes, closed and finally free from this cruel world.
“Where am I?”
“You are with me now. Let me guide you. Come, come and see how it shines”
“But, I have to go home. They are waiting”
“I know, but it is time”
“No. I still have so much to live for. So much to see. To do. To give. It cannot be time, it’s too soon”
“It always is, dear one”.

Allerbeste Vriend(in)
Vrienden
Vriendschap
Bevriend
mee kunt lachen
en mee kunt wenen?
Waar je geen seks mee wil hebben
maar wel ontzaggelijk veel van kunt houden.
Ach, die heb ik niet
vandaar dan ook dit verdriet.
Geen leegte om mij heen
maar een leeg hart van steen.
Dat schreeuwt om te leven
Om liefde te krijgen en te geven
maar niet één van velen
want dan kan het mij niets schelen
Om verder tegaan op deze weg
alleen, ach, dan maar pech.
Altijd nog beter
dan gekwetst te worden achtergelaten.

oh i needed this so bad right now forreal. im now two in a row for 'terra ignota acknowledgements that made me cry' (perhaps the stars got me so bad). like.
five and a half years after first encountering the series that would become most formative to you, and a year and change after finishing it, you come back to the first book, and the author who gave you so much, stranger to stranger, tells you that for years she wanted to build it for you so desperately it hurt, it drew tears. and you're reading this 24 hours after a good cry about your own crisis of creative faith and it's like oh. creativity is just like that. we are all experiencing pain in pursuit of our dearest makings and it does not preclude the making. it is the experience.
and of course many people have said this before, over millennia, it's a human commonality. But you needed to hear this specifically from someone whose work you've spent a lot of time with. you needed to be able to connect the joy and the depth of feeling with that work, to the struggle it took to exist and come to you. your love comes easily to finished products and you struggle to love your own work while it is still a process. but all work was once a process, and from its creator's viewpoint even the most polished piece is still just a step of the capital-p Process of living as a person who tries to make things. and you need to hear that. you need it more often than you get it. so you're glad every rare time you get it.

The tabloids : a press so British !
By Mathis Alloul
The tabloids are probably the most talked-about press on a daily basis. Always looking for clout, these media are doing everything to get scoops. Let's take a look at the history and current trends of this type of media.
Tumblr media
Source : Ownwork
Tabloid journalism is one popular style of largely sensationalist journalism (usually drama, sometimes unverifiable or even blatantly false). Which took it's name from the tabloid newspaper format: a small-sized newspaper. The size became associated with sensationalism. The front page of a tabloid always has big photographs and headlines, it is even called superficial journalism. The oldest British tabloid is The People, founded in 1881 and still one of the most popular today.
As in the United States, some weekly magazines have become increasingly popular since the 2000s. However, their sales began to decline in the late 2000s, partly because of the emergence of the digital press, but mostly because of the scandal involving Nouveau du Monde.
Create and share scandals.
Harry and Megan : the famous couple. The tabloids have clearly decided to take Meghan and Harry as their target. Since their royal wedding in May 2018, the front pages have been following one another. Meghan Markle has always been in their shot, her friends (abandoned), her loves (past), her troubles (family) as been used against her. Why so much hate? Being American is the source of all the issues the tabloids have said. Because she wasn't necessarily cooperative during her pregnancy, the media grumbled. Because Meghan-bashing sells a lot, quite simply.
Princess Diana famously made a lot of headlines in the national tabloids. "If we didn't have anything to sell, all we had to do was take a picture of Diana, enlarge it as much as possible and put it on the front page," confirms former Sun editor Kelvin MacKenzie, considered "the genius of the tabloids”. Some loose headlines: "My life is torture", "I had an affair with Hewitt", "I never liked Dodi", all without any real quote from the main character. The princess was always followed by paparazzi wherever she went. The paparazzi have been widely blamed for the accident that led to Diana's death in 1997 in Paris.

The most widely read and purchased British tabloids are : Metro, The Guardian, The Times, The Mail on Sunday and The Daily Mail (in order).

What does each account reveal about thenature of this covenant? Consult the notes for 15:6 and 17:9 in NISB.2.How is the character of God’s covenant with Abraham rooted in Abraham’sencounters with God before it (Genesis 12-14) and what do Abraham’sencounters with God which follow (Genesis 18-22) reveal about thiscovenant relationship?3.
